Dr. Friesen dropped me as a patient over the phone because I asked about the way she was handling my health and prescriptions. I only actually communicated as a patient with her twice because of Covid. Never seen her in person. She completely ignored an appointment I had and refused to acknowledge my appointment, without even talking to me with guidance as how to get my prescription as she wasnt going to refill it. They have other doctors yet because of her attitude I wasnt even allowed to that as promised when I became a patient. What kind of poor behavior is this, she just left me without meds and its life and death for me without them. I was shocked, I have the right to know and ask about what my doctor is doing with out fear of some retaliation. So now at the last minute I had to find a walk in clinic that may prescribe my meds in time before my next attack, if not I go the hospital with mediocre results because they are not stocked for my issue so its make shift remedy. For any doctor to drop a patient for asking a rightful question has some anger issues. Literally over the phone within 5 minutes I had no more doctor for standing up for myself. All the while being polite. No one at the clinic stood up for me when I explained my side. I was bullied out the my doctors office. This seams to be a plague in the Okanagan. Really bad behavior. Karma will catch up with you. I promise you I won’t forget.

I was in thier getting my birth control. One of the lady's made a judgmental remark about how other woman dont take precautions to get birth control themselves. I didn't say anything but because of thier judgmental remarks I really wonder how any heroine addict can get the help they need when woman like these are working there judging people.

I had to go here once for an emergence as i was left with no script at all for the weekend. I am from the coast and my pharmacy decided to take a family day without notifying me. Dr. L waited to see me even after her shift had ended and she did not have to. while talking with her she was very thorough about everything and even kept my niece entertained. Now the end of my trip to Penticton is nearing and she will once again meet me during hours that she does not normally meet anyone. just to fit me in. The girls at the desk are amazing and accommodating as well. This clinic is the very best in my opinion, and coming from Vancouver and being to countless number of clinics down there, this says a lot! Thank you all! In Summer of 2017 I moved to Penticton to stay and managed to get Dr. Lappalainen as my family doctor. She is the best doctor I have ever had and takes the time needed to listen to your problems and work with you. She wastes no time when it comes to referrals and the girls at the front desk are just as amazing at making sure they happen. Nowadays it is very hard to find a doctor that does actually take the time to properly diagnose and not rush you out so they can get to the next patient or stay on time.

I can't believe that places like this exist and can make it easy for any one. As a person who struggles with dependence, and depression/anxiety, but otherwise is trying to maintain a normal life, I dont think I'd have made it without them. They gave me every resource possibly available, changed my coverage to one that matches my income, so now I dont worry about having to go without prescriptions because I have no money. It's all been on the phone so I'm never sure who's who, but having never had a voice that sounded like they didnt really care. Life is still difficult and each day is different, especially in the winter during a pandemic. I hope more people like me, who seem fine but are struggling or slipping use this resource cuz without them I dont know where I'd be now. A Sincere Thank you

In my opinion. The Doctors at this clinic are heartless and have no compassion. They think everyone that comes to them are drug addicts and most are but as a Doctor you should still teat your patients with respect and care. The receptionists lie to the Doctors telling them the patients don't show to there appointments when really they are completely incompetent. If you have a choice I bag of you do not go to this clinic they are the WORST DOCTORS you will ever have to deal with. They are monsters!!!!

Dr. Van Horn has been my doctor and she is compassionate with tons of empathy. She reviews my medications and makes the best and safest choices for me. She always listens and understands when you are ha ing a tough time. The girls at the front desk are so friendly and will do everything in their power to help you if they can even squeeze you in if it's an emergency. I can't say enough great things about this office they treat you like a person that matters where that isn't the case with other doctors in town but not at Martin Street Outreach all the doctors have so much empathy & compassion.
