WRONG DIAGNOSIS!!! Horrific experience!!! Please please go for a second or third opinion as my grandmother has...only to discover she DOES NOT HAVE ALZHEIMERS! Our Story-My 80-year-old grandmother went in for cognitive testing and was given the MOCA tests by a nurse practitioner and a physiotherapist. Was treated disrespectfully by the nurse practitioner and the physiotherapist. Their approach when administering the MOCA test was to use a mocking supercilious smirk!!!! They threatened my grandmother that if she didn't follow their advice they would take away her drivers license!!! Who treats people like this!!!??? Especially seniors!!!! This WRONG diagnosis turned our world and family up side down. It was devastating news but UNTRUE after further testing. Thank God!!! Please beware and go for that second opinion. I have had only positive experiences here with my mom. They have been friendly and very helpful. My mom’s dementia was worsening and they have started her on an Alzheimer’s medication. We are hoping it will help. We are thankful to be part of the GAIN clinic.
