I have been trying to get in contact with a doctor for over 3 weeks now to start hormone therapy. The lady who helped me at first, Julie, was very lovely and accommodating until she started to ignore my emails. I was told that I would receive a call more than a week ago from the Oshawa manager Sabrina to book an appointment. I have not received any calls to book my appointment with this doctor, nor have I received any emails from anybody at the clinic about why I am being ignored. I definitely will never consider or recommend this clinic.

Asked for a DBT therapist or someone who can actually help. They gave me a social worker who took an online certification course on depression. I waited soo long to see this person and it was such a waste of time. Now I have to put my name on another wait list which I could have already done…. THANKS.

.If there was one word to describe my treatment here it would be * abandoned * one of my appointments was cancelled without asking me or notifying me. Updated may 5 2021 * . asked the current physician if they would be able to care for me untill i am able to see a new physician . Instead i am able to get a nurse practitioner. i was told the process would be fairly quick. I felt like dr c** didn't care about me during intake or my concerns. There is no compromise, beggars can't be choosers. What a lame situation. Couldn't even get a blood test even when i mentioned i needed one * these people really top it off* i will never smile ever again Update Dr c gets zero stars because he didnt care about my health and gave zero effort .the only effort i received from him was how quickly he called me to cancel appointment and abandoned me. Reception gets ☆☆☆☆☆especially dev for guiding me thru a New family doctor to tend to my health, hopfully things are better nows

When they get you an appointment it's great and friendly but they've pushed my son and I's appointment back twice and the second time they said sorry we have no one who can see you. I'm on the patient list. How can no one see me?

Thanks James D for making me feel so worthless as a human being. Terrible time here and would not recommend :( you get talked down to and not treated nicely as all. If you can't relate and connect with the clients you're supporting then why are u doing this job?? Reply - yeah no thank you Paula you are already aware of all of the complaints about how clients get treated badly and you do nothing

I don’t understand why this place has the word “Care” in its name, because this place DOESN’T care! These people couldn’t manage your lunch let alone anyone’s healthcare. Incompetence runs rampant. Employees come and go through a revolving door these days. What happened to all the good staff at this place? Looks like they couldn’t hang onto them - I can see why! I wouldn’t want to work here, either. This place has gone downhill fast! I see that the most positive reviews are from 2 years ago - that speaks volumes, wouldn’t you say? I used to be treated so well here. Now I’m treated like the spoiled milk they had on their Corn Flakes for breakfast - why else would they be so sour?? They don’t know left from right - or right from wrong. If you care about your care, stay away from this place!! Please do NOT respond to this review with an offer to call or email to chat further about why you guys suck so bad. Get a clue!!

My friend waited a while to see&speak with carea team, they did what they could to help, unfortunately that isn't the same with the Dr. The doctor recommended she see a female physician. The doctor was quick to abandon her. And was told she would be receiving care from a nurse practitioner instead. My friend asked the dr if he would be willing to tend to her health until a new physician was set. The team instead let her have a nurse, a new intake appointment, she wants to be cared for. Not whatever this is. She waited a long time to not get any test, shes tired and to unwell to let carea push her around with you can have this only.

Very disappointed!! I've been a patient with you guys for well over 15 years. Everytime I have an appointment booked I'm always without a shadow of a doubt called back to reschedule every dang time. Not only that how come you can never seem to keep staff I've been trying to get a diagnose of a issue I'm having since February but I have now been passed through 4 different doctors/nurse practitioners ?? That's a joke!! Now come to today's issue someone called me this morning to once again *surprise surprise* to reschedule my appointment tried calling back and keep getting either hung up on or voicemail how non professional. I never speak up about anything but people have their limits and I have reached mine with this facility I think its time for me to find a new place/new doctor.

The staff who actually work there are amazing and do good work. The problem is that staff don't seem to stay for very long or they are moved to another site. My medical provider keeps changing, my counselor switched once. I think this is the 4th or 5th time (honestly I have lost track) that I have received a phone call telling me that I will be switching providers. How do you expect clients to receive good and consistent care? Why can't you guys keep staff? Happy staff means happy clients.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! My mother has diabetes she is low income she lives with a disability and she comes here. She volunteers in the kitchen with carmen who is a total doll. She also sees Shirley who is so kind and compassionate. Nicole at the front desk is just phenomenal! It’s very important when accessing services and resources that you are treated compassionately and you are not judged or stigmatized. I started coming here as well for counselling with Michael. He is such an amazing person I was a little sceptical at first with a man been my counsellor due to my drama and issues. He has helped me change my thinking, build my self esteem and change my life for the better!

I see from the reviews that Carea is suggesting Alexis (another reviewer) speak with a Clinical Manager to discuss her comments about staff turnover. Huh?? I used to be a client here until recently. I had a lot of problems with an employee and I asked to speak with a manager. Guess what? I was directed to THREE DIFFERENT MANAGERS. They were either unavailable or no longer working there whenever I tried following up! So...why would someone speak to a manager to talk about high staff turnover? Who is running this place, anyway? I couldn’t believe how I was treated. I been coming to this place for years...no more.

I am disappointed that I have to leave this negative review but I am extremely frustrated with this clinic. I have been a client at Carea since I was child. My primary care physician - I have no problems with because he is amazing at his job and provides me with exceptional care, if I could rate him 10/5 stars. however it is the front desk and support staff that do not have their act together, they are not even worth the 1 star. They are rude, dismissive and cold. They do not follow up or relay messages and they’re notorious gatekeepers. Direct message to front desk staff. I do not come to the doctor because I think it’s a good time. I may not look sick to you but that’s how it is with invisible illnesses. I’m sorry my presence inconveniences you. Trust me, I don’t want to be there. However this is your job and you choose to be there so either be there and be courteous and cordial to the clients or don’t come. Your job is not to belittle clients or make them feel like getting treatment is ruining your day. Your attitudes are disgusting and immature. Do Better

I've been going to the Community Health Centre since before they moved to their current location on Grassmere and I've always had mixed results but I'm leaving a review now because the last nine months have just been unbelievable. I was essentially abandoned at 19 weeks pregnant after being repeatedly assured that a midwife (my preference) had been arranged and that I would be contacted with further instruction. At 21 weeks I called the health centre to follow up and was told they had no idea what i was talking about. This was after four separate times of me asking if everything was good to go because, due to past experiences, I didn't believe they were arranging it. The next four weeks or so Nicole had to scramble to find me any O.B. that could take me on because it was way too late to try to get a midwife at that point. Getting my baby vaccinated was another nightmare altogether, I never did end up getting his vaccines done here. Yesterday I went to an appointment get some vaccines for myself and AGAIN nothing but a headache. These are just a few examples, I have so many more. The patient to medical staff ratio seems to be way off compared to other places and it really shows in rushed appointments and incomplete records. Nicole their clerk is amazing and I can imagine she doesn't get paid nearly enough for what I'm sure she has to put up with everyday from frustrated patients. I work in healthcare and have no problem giving the benefit of the doubt but even I get frustrated with this place!

It is a shame that this amazing medical facility is filled with unhelpful and rude staff. Kathy, one of the receptionists at the front desk, is unbelievably ignorant and refuses to be helpful. I am not sure how she has a job! Each time I arrive at the office I am not greeted and if I need to book an appointment Kathy buries her head in her desk pretending not to see me. Kathy has refused me and my family on multiple occasions for an appointment, simply telling me no, even when I beg for an appointment for my infant daughter to see a doctor. My latest phone call into the office resulted in Kathy hanging up on me. I have been going to this office for as long as I can remember, even before the location was where it is now, and I am treated in a way I never have before by a medical professional. After finally complaining, I have yet to be called back by the Manager to address my concerns.

Love the caring staff towards the community! They helped me get control of my blood sugars using diet and exercise. There are so many great services for young and old! They have a doctor/nurse/social workers and alot of great staff! They having lots of stuff for kids as well. Great programs for new parents or single parent to get involved in. I have been going to this place for around 10 years now and can only say good things about this place.

If blood was pouring out of my ears I wouldn’t step foot in this place again. They seem to have a new set of staff each time I go and no one knows who i am anymore or how to give me the care I need. Used to be a great place - don’t know what happened. My new health center is the lcbo up the street......good riddance!
