I would absolutely recommend that anyone looking for a therapist try First Session! Especially those who may be hesitant to start out with therapy for the first time or to return to it. I've struggled many times in the past to find therapists that I connect with, but was very lucky to find a wonderful one through First Session. Having short videos of the therapists sharing a little bit about themselves and their approaches is such a simple concept but made an absolute world of difference. As soon as I saw my therapist's video, I knew that I would feel good speaking with her and I was right. It's so helpful to see someone's vibe (for lack of a better word) and be able to try and imagine yourself sharing with them. The platform itself is also very user-friendly.

This platform is an incredible resource for individuals (and now companies!) looking to be supported with mental health. After using Psychology Today to email therapists for months without finding a great fit, I was able to use First Session to find my therapist for the past two years within 24 hours. The ability to get a sense of my therapist from a video gave me the confidence to reach out knowing we could be a good fit and that they had availability to see me. First Session eliminated a lot of the friction associated with finding a therapist when I was at a low point and I’m so grateful that this website was able to do that for me.
