Health care pro's are not on the phone with you. Impatient and no direction to steer me to is the programs 1st failure. Impatience imply it's a cop managing the phone. I'm not a drug addict or an alcoholic.i called cops on myself for help. The cops made things worse. They hurt me and I wasn't resisting. Don't send bias angry... in my case a female cop who has something to prove either. I have covid anxiety and they arrest me then won't let me have my teeth or purse after being forced into a hospital I didn't need. Then put me into the biggest fear of Covid anxiety and not give or offer me a mask. You failed me and four days later I'm almost dysfunctional fighting hard not to be. Shame on you C.O.A.S.T. your failing the system in place to help me. Cops have closed a door for me to ask for help too. LET'S HOPE I COME OUT THE OTHER SIDE YOU POOR EXCUSE FOR PUBLIC SUPPORT NETWORKS!

Thank you for the wonderful care and support ???? system integrated for my family member during their great need for intervention and working through her needs in and out of hospital. Great referrals to other agencies for her as a support system. Above and beyond the call for help when needed..

A guy named Azher took my call. My crisis was being cheated on and being borderline and having to write a College exam in a few hours off no sleep. Azher engaged with me and validated me for 5 minutes, but became audibly annoyed with me for not feeling his responses solved my problems.

Called and was answered by a guy named Peter, could have been outsourced to India from the sounds of it. To cut costs on a Crises line? Not very reassuring. Then I told him I am very depressed and distressed about a Very personal matter and all he did was give me a number to call, THE NEXT DAY, in order to start a counseling service. I'm In Crisis and all they can do is pass the buck to the next day and another service. Still feeling very bad and no one can help me tonight when I need help the most. All I can say is that they probably only care about making money and dont care if people are feeling like they can't handle there lives in the present moment and aren't equip to help people who have abuse or sexual issues and need help then and there. Your better off just not calling because they are of absolutely no help if your in Crisis.

I tried coast in the past with my suicidal thoughts and they judged, ridiculed, and be littled me..they were a horrible response team and 8 years later i am still facing the same type of thinking....

In my opinion you are better off identifying and utilizing this as a referral service. Because that's what it is. I'd like to say that the experience has made my life better but it hasn't; it's made it a lot harder. I've made it a lot harder... , if you're gonna be honest about how you feel, be honest with yourself. Find your values and create a lifestyle that works in alignment of those values. Spare yourself from the pain this cycle will put you through. Google your steps. If you're looking to talk to someone, I recommend the Barret center, ask your doctor for outpatient services at West 5th. Avoid going to emergency at St Joe's if possible. We all have issues, including those who work in these places. Spare yourself from the humiliation and projection of values that comes with this process. You CAN get through it on your own.

I’d give less than one star if I could. Dealing with a son who has a substance use disorder is a challenge on the best of days, but asking for help when he is in acute psychosis is a lesson in how useless the mental health system, St Joes and COAST are. I remember during one call to COAST, the person told me to kick my son out. Cold, no empathy, just kick him out.

Called in, but no one was available. I waited over 90 minutes for a return phone call. The man on the line must have been having a busy day, because he rushed through the standard questions and I felt like a burden. After this non-doctor decided for me that there was no crisis, he suggested I "take a walk outside" to calm down. Did we out-source the calls to India?? It was the middle of the night in a blizzard! Calling the COAST service line has caused lasting pain and shame for the past 10 years of my life. I really hope they have been better able to train the responders in compassionate responses over that time.

Possibly t h e worst outreach you could call. Between having zero manners, deminor and underqualified, untrained nothing...hard to believe this is even an option...im ashamed. Hope goes to die here.

May 2017 I was in severe crisis and a Team did come out to visit me and not only were they extremely helpful and they genuinely listened to my voice and indeed compassionate I felt very Blessed there is a service for those struggling with emotional difficulties. Thank You COAST your STAFF are Awesome.

Someone named Emily answered. I can't begin to describe how grateful I am that I didn't have to go through it alone. She was so so kind and, even though I know I wasn't making a whole lot of sense, she eased my mind and tried to understand. She was like warm fire in a cave. Although I sought her out, she made me feel safe despite being in what I felt to be a terrifying situation. I know it's what she does, but I'm so so grateful all the same she answered my call. She let me talk to her about my cats too! (Money and Oil Can) Which helped keep my mind off of things. I hope she's doing well and lives to be happy. She deserves the world. 10/10 would recommend.

zero stars! go ahead a call them, depending on who you talk with you run the very real risk of having armed cops pounding on your door and you just might end up in a body bag
