Ron has been a pleasant surprise in my journey. Before seeking help through counselling, I had no idea what to expect and went in feeling nervous and uncomfortable. Ron immediately changed that narrative for me. He is very personable, kind and knows how to connect the dots and ties stories, wisdom and insight into the experience. I walk in with a weight on my shoulders and leave with clarity and understanding. He has a vast knowledge of techniques and doesn’t impose his own values in finding solutions. I very much appreciate his approach and without his help, would not be in the positive place that I am in today.

What can I say to go along with 5 star review, except i wish I could give a one million star review. I was seeking help from a different clinic here in my hometown of Nanaimo and I didn’t feel like I was making any progress, plus I was forced to only speak about one thing - which in turn made me a lot worse. Started to feel I wasn’t allowed to talk about my trauma at all, but isn’t that why we seek help? Anyway, heard about The Therapy Place and also read the reviews and thought I need 1:1 face to face help, telehealth wasn’t my jam. As soon as I got off the phone with Ron I was hopeful. I always feel supported, heard and most importantly validated. My story is being written right now and so far every struggle I overcome is a chapter I am able to slowly put behind me thanks to the help of Ron. Do yourself a favour be kind & generous to yourself, make an appointment and start your own book. Nothing better than meeting a new insanely better version of yourself! Thank you Ron!

I cannot express enough how much Ron helped me when I was going through some rough times. I had tried a few sessions with other people in the past, but I felt like they all asked me the same textbook questions and gave the same textbook answers to my responses. Ron was was different in the sense that I felt like he actually considered my situation on a personal basis. Ron did a great job of not only giving constructive feedback on how to deal with certain issues, but also communicating that although he can guide clients to help them make changes, some things are up to the client to deal with if they want to truly change themselves for the better. Overall, I really appreciated how Ron provided a comfortable and suitable setting where I felt like I could truly talk about what I was struggling with, and develop strategies and skills to apply in my life to make lasting changes for the better.

I was looking for a therapist to help me with anxiety and depression. I had tried counselling before but didn't really make a connection with it. But things were getting worse in my life so I thought I'd try again. I found Ron Depner on a google search and I can honestly say he's helped a lot. My anxiety isn't completely gone and probably never will be. But it's way more manageable and a lot of the things that kept me stuck before are no longer a big issue. My depression has also lifted, and I think I can say with confidence that it was because Ron helped me work out some of the cobwebs from things in the past. Would highly recommend his services to anyone needing a therapist or counsellor.
