You will be able to see the feddbacks of real people who bought the services of Main Street West Urgent Care Centre - Hamilton Health Sciences (Psychiatrist) in the area close to Moose Factory (Canada).
At the present this business has a score of 2.9 out of 5 and that rating has been calculated on 127 reviews.
You may have noticed that the average of ratings is average, neither too high nor too low, and it's founded on a high number of opinions, so we may say that the evaluation is quite reliable. If many people have bothered to rate when they've done well, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to write tatings when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Psychiatrist is included in the category of Urgent care center.
I had a very unprofessional make dr i should have reported him but was so thrown off I just left shocked he refused to give me care unless i let him alone give me a vaginal exam which wasn't medically necessary.
I was seen back at the beginning of August with spasmodic torticollis. I don't know what others are expecting of an urgent care center; they will always be busy and will always seem understaffed. I was VERY appreciative, despite whatever wait-time there was (maybe an hour or so, not very long) as the doctor still took her time with me and helped me with my issue. I will continue to come to this location for any other issues my doctor cannot see me for. Thank you for all your help and keep doing what you're doing!!
If any if the previous reviews tell you anything about the wait time, expect an average of four hours. This place is an absolute joke. If you are really in an urgent situation, call an ambulance. If you come down to this location, expect a miracle from God to not die in the waiting area because it is only funny how much taxes every single Canadian pays to receive a waiting time of over six hours because there is only one doctor available to treat over forty human beings in need of attention. There was a little girl crying for an entire hour because the poor girl has been waiting for about the same time my dad and I arrived which was 11:15AM. As I am writing this, it is 3:56PM. The take here is if your situation is urgent or in absolute need, it'll be a death or life situation if you come to this tragic joke of a place.
Horrible. Long waiting time. Went there due to severe diarrhea. Waited almost 7 hours. Finally doctor came and asked me to drink water (talked to me only for a minute or two). And for this 2 minutes consultation I've waited seven hours.
You are not feeling well when at Urgent Care; however, the systematic order of operations was effective and calmed my eagerness. My 9am(ish) ticket #11 was at first window within 25Mins(Approx. 2-3Mins/client assessment, not rushed). At second window within 20 minutes(near same client time without being rushed). Inside waiting room approximately 10 minutes until first sample is requested. Bed assigned, blood work and image scan by 11:00am(2hrs. since entered). Doctor's assessment made; now 3hrs. wait for results. Results confirmed and I am discharged. All staff including Dr Shipp-Dey were courteous, polite, tolerant, professional. Thank you
My husband arrived on a Tuesday morning right as they opened. In a significant amount of pain. Waited 6 hours for an ultrasound. And is currently waiting for results. Which means he has been there for over 7 hours and counting. So disappointed in Hamilton Health Sciences. Such a frustrating experience.
For the past year and a bit, I have been very ill with chronic diseases where at times, pain medication does not always help. Whenever the medication does not work I would go to this clinic in hopes to get treated. For the last two times I have been there it has been a very unpleasant experience, both times I went to St. Joe's hospital immediately after to get the help I needed so function properly. For this day that I went in, I was disgusted by the nurses reactions to my pain. I had firstly, fallen to the floor because I was in intense pain and for a moment I felt fine. A nurse approached me and said, "Oh come on, get up. You're faking" (BELIEVE IT OR NOT!) when I only responded with breathing and covering my eyes, she said, "Well you didn't faint, because if you did, you wouldn't be moving your arms right now." She grabbed me and tried to hoist me into the waiting room chair. I told her four times, "I'm sorry, it just hurts." to which she responded, "if you were really this sick, you shouldn't be here." This is an emergency centre, one that was close to my home and never had a difficult problem here getting the help I needed in the past. I do NOT recommend coming here unless you had a child. I notice that is when they treat you with respect. Unfortunately, my other family members have also experienced situations such as this. My mother, Aunts and my grandmother once too. It seems that the quality of caregiving has decreased within the last 6 months. We go to St. Joe's now.
Took 8hrs to be seen on Saturday, gave me steroids (didn't tell me which), swabbed my throat and sent me on my way. Called back today because they gave me a prescription for antibiotica but told me not to fill until diagnosed... which I haven't had any calls yet for... and just wanted to ask if the steroids are supposed to wear off so fast and I got snapped at by the woman on the phone and hung up on. No joke. Rudest woman I've met in the medical industry. Whoever is answering the phones there at 9am needs to be talked to about her attitude. She works in a medical clinic and I'm sick at home with a throat that keeps swelling and no one is telling me anything. I don't think it's unfair to have questions and I'm trying to be considerate to not infect other patients by calling instead of going in.
Everyone was friendly and professional. I got the help I needed in a timely manner and my health issue was taken seriously. The wait wasn't long, in part, I am sure, that I got lucky and arrived at a time when few people were in the clinic. I am befuddled by the low ratings of so many. I, for one, am grateful to have a service like this in Hamilton. I got the help I needed on a Saturday, without having to sit in Emerg. Thanks to everyone at MSWUCC!
Been waiting for over 3 hours for the results of an xrays.
rude desk clerks. I went in after a trip abroad, where i got bit and my whole left arm swelled up, and i was feeling dizzy, and had flu like symptoms. The clerk at the front was so rude and condescending. I couldn't believe it, I work in healthcare, and i was disgusted at the way she was talking to me. I would never talk to anyone in that manner. I was being polite and telling her my symptoms, but after a 3 minute conversation with that clerk, i told her i was going somewhere else. I do not understand why some people would treat their patients like this. Management needs to step up and do some sensitivity and code of conduct training, because what i experienced was wrong, and from what i have been seeing in other reviews, clearly not just me. So disappointing.
Two hour wait.
Jan. 20, 2018. Arrived at the urgent care centre today at 7:30 pm and was almost immediately seen by a friendly triage nurse. A few minutes later I was seen by another nurse and then sent straight into the treatment room. Both doctors and staff were very nice, knowledgeable and understanding. I was treated accordingly and allowed to stay past closing until I felt ready to go home. I would really like to thank everyone on shift tonight for their friendly attitude, hard work and dedication!
I went for the COVID-19 testing with no appointment and had a positive experience. The wait in the line was pretty long but it went fairly quick for the amount of people. Once I was in, the staff was extremely friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend.
I received excellent care three times. Once for myself and other times I took my nephew then a friend . Now that's what I call health CARE ! Thank you .
please fix the WEBSITE link
Facility is clean. Wait times are what to be expected in an urgent care setting. Lay out is decent. Radiography is on site. Most staff are friendly and courteous. Triage nurses tend to be on the negative side. Staff also should make better example of proper hand hygiene, especially when blowing their nose or coughing. Watching staff blow their nose & not use hand sanatizer or soap than proceed to care for patients. All and all decent for your urgent, but non life threatening medical needs, but during peak times expect a wait of 3-4 hours.
Literally in an out in like 7 minutes for a scheduled Covid Test. Very efficient and the staff were very professional and kind.
We have taken our baby here when our family doctor has not been available to see us. My understanding is that urgent care is more appropriate for something like a potential ear infection or chest infection than McMaster ED. But it's not worth taking a toddler or child to this urgent care. The level of care is awful for little ones. Staff make comments about the child being angry and grumpy if they cry. The physicians are not skilled when it comes to working with children and I will be making a formal complaint about the lack of consideration and care we recieved at our last visit. We all know healthcare is busy and there are always patients waiting. However this does not excuse poor bedside manner, or preferential treatment to patients who are not children.
Exceptional service today with all the staff. My mother's care was exceptional. A very caring team you have. Thank You!
I'm surprised to see so many negative reviews here, I've been to Main West Urgent Care a *lot* over the years and never had an unacceptable experience here (not going to say that I've never had a bad experience, because hey, I'm at Urgent Care, obviously something's wrong with me...). Seriously, I'm super accident prone, I've had stitches here, had veins cauterized, thrown up in a garbage can (for those writing about long wait times, here's a tip...barfing tends to get you seen to and out of there right away!), had various parts of my body x-rayed, and had a minor emergency operation on a painful cyst (locally frozen), and lots more! As someone who has frequented emergency departments in a variety of cities across the province and the country as a matter of fact, I can say that this location has one of the shortest wait times of any facility I've ever had to visit. Additionally, they have a fine selection of Disney VHS's to occupy you, if you're really finding the wait times long.
Went there at 11 am and got out at 7 pm and the doctor was telling me nothing is wrong with me so unprofessional..
Went there with an injured elbow. Everyone was very kind and very efficient. I wanted to donate a Tim Hortons card for the wonderful care I received. They wouldn’t accept but suggested I review the Centre. Will make a donation to HHS. Thank you for all you do!
Went in for Covid-19 testing today and it was very fast and organized. The staff and nurses were all really friendly and the nurse that took my test honestly made my day with her positivity. Thank you!
Made me wait for 3 h to see a small cut to just send me home without stitches or glue because it had healed over by the time the doctor got to me I asked the nurse if i should bother to wait and her professional opinion for her to just be rude to me
Be prepared to wait a while to see a doctor. This facility is in no way, “urgent” in any sense of the word. Even if your 1 year old has a bad fever, they will make you wait in a crowded room for 3-4 hours to see a doctor. The security personnel certainly leave a lot to be desired in the way of curtesy, and politeness. Try somewhere else, if you can.
I took my daughter there last spring, after being pricked by a cactus. Within hours her arm had swelled to enormous proportions and turned greenish grey. We arrived, took a number, waited for just a couple of minutes, and someone must have mentioned her arm to the staff, because someone came out and rushed her over to triage. One look and the triage nurse said to move to the next window. Asked no questions. Just sent us on. We were put into a cubicle, where a doctor came very quickly. He did whatever it is doctors do to decide what is the best course of treatment, then he told my daughter she needed better care than they could give at urgent care. Gave us $30 taxi chits, and sent us to Hamilton General Hospital, emergency. Turned out, she had contracted a staph infection from the cactus. Apparently they tend to carry that bacteria. She was kept waiting a lot longer at HGH emergency, but they did give her something for the pain. For nearly a week, I feared for her life. When I was sure she'd live, I wondered if she'd lose her arm. Either of those two events might have come to pass if it weren't for staff who recognize a real need and deal with it........immediately. They saved her life, and no amount of bad reviews will ever convince me that the staff don't care.
Waited 4.5 hours to see a doctor only to over hear the X-ray tech went home (I only went because they had an x-ray there and I my wrist is in severe pain). I ended up leaving before I actually saw anyone. On my way out the security guard followed me at my heel out the door and watched me until I drove away like I was a common criminal. To add insult to injury they have WiFi but it's paid...This was also the second 1 star rating in a row for me
horrible experience. terrible customer service skills from the ladies at triage and behind the doors.
I've relied on this urgent care facility many times for URGENT CARE. I appreciate the option of this type of facility when I need it - today it was for a broken bone in my foot. Note that it is not for emergency situations or the ideal place to go if you are suffering from a common cold. For less concerning ailments, you will find yourself waiting for quite a while.
Doctor laughed at me. Need I say more?
I've had to go there a couple of times since living in Hamilton. The first time was about 5 years ago with my toddler when he had a fever and he was crying from pain , I was treated absolutely horrible and lectured about my decisions in my personal life. Second time I unfortunately had to go was this past summer because it was the closest urgent care that my doctor told me to go to. This visit was the complete opposite of the first one except the triage nurse seemed annoyed and like I bothered her for coming in. My son had a fever hitting 40.6 and nothing would bring it down below 39 and had all flu like symptoms, the doctor was excellent though and was extremely helpful and non judgmental. Unfortunately the last time was for myself about 2 months ago, it was busy but same thing with the triage nurse. However the doctor was very professional and helpful, they figured out why I was having severe back pain for the past week and gave me a prescription and offered to give me a doctor's note so I didn't have an issue with work. If the triage nurse was more inviting with her bedside manner I would've given them 5 stars
Do they do a throat swab for covid here or just the nasal one ?
Waited 5 hours just to be told by the doctor to get a "family doctor" and refused to conduct any tests or do anything. Total waste of time. I wanted to explain I've been having different problems of various area but no time to explain just concludes I need family doctor leave leave leave. The doctor working here just doesn't want anything to do with you.
Efficient as possible.
worst place, they let other people walk before you even get to see the DR, you probably gonna die of your pain there before you get to see the DR. never going back there even if i was beside this clinic dying. THE FUNNY THING IS while i was in the waiting room the nurse came to me to tell me we are waiting on A SPECIAL ROOM FOR YOU and they gonna be calling people who came after me because they only have ONE DOCTOR. ITS LIKE I'M 14 YEARS OLD KID. UNBELIEVABLE
Good alternative to the emergency room (for none life threatening things) and great alternative to walk ins, doctors and nurses here are good
Treatment is good, but wait time is killing it took me 3 hours to just get the checkup
Took my husband there today, after being badly burned by a out of control backyard fire pit. The whole staff were absolutely top notch. They were sensitive to his pain. The doctor knew right away how bad the burns were, and what was needed to help. First, second and third degree ????. The nurses were so wonderful. The kind every person going to the hospital hopes to have looking after them! I can’t say enough good things about the facility and it’s wonderful staff.
Very rude desk clerks that clearly hate there job... my suggestion is if you dont like interacting with people, let alone sick or injured people get another job. The treatment and attitude I received was unacceptable! After speaking with the lady at the check in desk, I literally walked out and went to another care center.
Very fast care. Better than emergency room. Go here first. $8 Flat fee for parking.
Where does my tax money go... only one doctor for 20+ wait list... This is legitimately not an URGENT CARE CENTRE. MISADVERTISED. Slow care centre FTW.
Went in as soon as they opened for severe dehydration and migraine. Was treated almost immediately with fluids and medications. Very prompt, great staff. Lots of people arrived after me and there were only 3 or 4 before me so I got in quick but I could see this place getting very busy. Would recommend over an ER any day for things other than severe cases.
I went for the Covid test today. $8 to park and was there for less than half an hour! Luckily, they weren't too behind but having to pay for parking for an essential test!? Disgusting! I made an appointment for 345pm, but they were taking people ahead of me who didn't have an appointment. Then, once I got in, they took two people before me who signed in after me.
Amazing , efficient, helpful and kind triage nurses. Awful physician. Not any proper examination or listening to my pain and concerns. After 2 min merely visual looking, he deemed not x, y, zand told me to see my family doctor. When I asked questions about causes of pain, why I have physical problems if not x, y, z and why over-counter pain meds do nothing, he backtracked and said he doesn’t know, go see my doctor and take Tylenol 3. Aren’t I visiting him to get a diagnosis? I let him know I’m not in habit of that kind of drug, I can barely walk let alone go to work and came to this centre because of the additional diagnostics, he tells me to see family physician and gives paperwork. Instead of helping, examining and diagnosing, he’s managed to dismiss patient, compare me to worse cases he’s seen, send to use healthcare system twice and waste nearly 3 hrs of my time. Nov.26 morning.
Step one, they charge you extortionate parking rates with a totally unnecessary gated lot. Luckily there's lots of free parking nearby... unless you need urgent care and can't walk (the perks of being a capitalist doctor with a captive audience i guess). The intake is efficient, although cold and impersonal. It feels the way I imagine minimum security "white collar resort prison" intake might feel. Once you are in the secured doctor area, you sit unnoticed for potentially hours before anyone will talk to you. This place is driving up the emergency room congestion one patient at a time as they demonstrate that the ER is preferable to the experience they deliver here.
I work for hhsc. I came here because I just moved to city of Hamilton. I expected 2-4 hours based on triage nurse estimation. I just don’t understand how this could be an urgent care? The flow of care is very horrible. Why there is no screening criteria to determine urgency? After 2 hours of waiting, the doctor saw me, then it took them literally 15 minutes to get the blood draw. They make you wait for an hour to get result back, then another hour to talk to doctor. There is only one doctor. Why one doctor.. Lack of funds? Why there is no residents or fellows to speed things up? All my symptoms suggested something is wrong with my liver function. Did they do liver function tests? No. After 4 hours passed, I talked to doctor and I asked him did u do my liver function tests? He said no .. He gave me a stare that suggested that he forgot. I didn’t comment, because I totally understand that one doctor for an urgent clinic will increase the chances of being misdiagnosed. The doctor is human being and can get overwhelmed. Seriously, I used to live in London, the urgent care at LHSC was busy but they will have you checked and all the right blood tests were done in max of 3 hours. Yes, there are multiple doctors and residents there! Please change your working practices for this ”urgent” clinic by introducing screening criteria to determine if this urgent or not, doing blood test first thing after triage nurse, and hiring more doctors/residents. Never again I’ll go there. 2 stars for kind nurses and for good facility in term of cleaniness and space.
5 hrs here with my Mom that is a diabetic and I couldn't even get a glass of juice
waste of time for a blocked ear don't go here they'll just say use drops and see a doctor lol ... I thought they "were" doctors. you can't flush out an ear quick ?
This was the smoothest unplanned medical visit I've had. From triage to nurse to diagnostic imaging to doctor in less than 2 hours... they were friendly, professional and efficient. I'm very grateful for the care I received! Thanks MSWUCC!
My daughter broke her toe we were admitted, triaged, x-rayed and her toe reset in under an hour and a half, nurses, staff and doctor were awesome very attentive and helpful. Thank you so much for your care, I've been here many times for myself, husband, children and have always received great care. At times you need to wait, however you should kind of expect that going to an urgent care centre or the ER. They are trained and if your situation is severe you will receive the care you need, you go with a "cold" you will probably be waiting a long time. You should be thankful you have access to medical professionals period!!! Thank you Dr. for fixing my daughter's toe and making a scary situation for her an easy fix. We greatly appreciate it.
Probably the worst experience I have ever had. The intake lady was horrible!! She was soooo rude and had absolutely no empathy. I will also be calling to complain. She didn’t have any manners. She SHOULD NOT be working in healthcare what so ever. Her bedside manner was absolutely horrendous. I personally work in healthcare and have never seen that behaviour with the staff I work with. That lady needs to be held accountable for her actions as I can also see other people’s reviews complaining about her. I would suggest going ANYWHERE else but here. I would of rather went to an actual hospital and waited longer then going here.
I went there Sunday night with my mother. It wasn’t overly busy but still quite a full waiting room. They registered us as soon as we got there, and we waiting about 30 mins to be triaged. Once we got into the other waiting room, we waited about another hour-two, for my mom to get a room. Once she got her room, she was seen pretty quickly by doctor Quinlan (not sure of the spelling). I really appreciate the staff working so hard to get us through the whole process as fast as possible. The doctor was thorough but quick, and my mom really liked him. Overall it was a very pleasant visit minus the fact that we had to go in the first place. Thankyou to all of the wonderful staff.
I went in for symptoms of strep throat and was instead asked repeatedly by the doctor if I was pregnant (I am not). He asked me 4 times before giving me a $60 prescription for anti inflammatory meds that I could “take if I wanted”
Probably the slowest urgent care in all of Hamilton. Secretary or admin was rude to everyone which did not make the process any better. And I had to wait 45 mins just for the triage nurse - not even the doctor
One doctor for the full house & ppl walk in with trivial as sore throat! Waiting for last 4+ hours. Why have urgent care if you canthave at least 2 doctors or more during flu season??
GARBAGE! Worst service! Worst place!
Fantastic medical attention. I am so grateful for the staff on tonight. They were excellent at helping ensure that I received the medical care I needed, and they tried to expedite the process too. Thank you all for your awesome work!
Unless you need immediate care (Really high fever, broken bones .etc) dont waste your time. Wait times are crazy, and unless YOU KNOW theres something wrong, you'll wait 4-6 hours for them to tell you nothing is wrong. I always see people come in for minor things and are scared they are going to have a heart attack or something, they wait hours just to be told nothing is wrong. The staff are usually good, people dont get that there are many different doctors that come in on rotations. A good thing is at least if you need an xray or bloodwork you can get it all done in one place and hear the results same day.
An awful place to go if you're sick or injured. In addition to watching a doctor walk throughout the facility for 30 minutes without a mask in the midst of the pandemic, they "treated" my son for a broken ankle. They sold him a $200 "walking cast" and told him to see an orthopedic surgeon. A week later, the orthopedic specialist told him that he SHOULD HAVE HAD A CAST. I guess they need the sales. Don't trust them, don't seek help here. Update: Hamilton Health Care's customer service department contacted me, asked about these issues, then never contacted me again. With care this poor, a fake customer service system is just icing on the cake.
Please provide customer service training here. Some are great other's require diversity trainings to understand people other than their culture are not below them.
Always good service and pleasant staff. Just understaffed
I had excellent care. I had heart problems and they found it. Great place!!
Every single person that I came into contact with from the doctor right down to the security guard... We're all SO kind, patient and just all around warm. Nothing but good things to say here!
This location is amazing. It’s not for major emergencies. Be patient and expect a wait. It’s not as bad as a major hospital emergency room, but remember, the urgent ones always go first. Bring a book, phone for games and you’ll be fine. Upon entry you need to take a number and wait for your number to be called.
Currently its a covid 19 testing centre, service is quick and Ministry Healthcare guidelines are properly followed. Good and co-operative staff.
This an awful experience due to the doctor.
While the wait was long as expected in an urgent care, Dr Sharif was so very kind and compassionate it did not go unnoticed.
Extremely slow and staffs are rude.
The administrating staff were super friendly and helpful. The doctor, not so much. Refused to listen to my daughter’s medical history and requests. Left without determining if there was an actual infection.
I went here the other day with my mom and brother to get tested for covid. We are all negative but it can take up to a week now to get results and it was a very long wait in line as we were walk ins and appointments are priority. However once we got in, it was very quick and efficient getting our info and then getting the tests administered. :) Our nurse was very kind. Also just a FYI, they are no longer taking walk-ins for covid testing at any locations now. Appts only.
The nurse was terribly rude over the phone! I asked about seating because I would be coming in with four kids. I know the wait won't be as fast as a walk in clinic but I wanted to make sure the seating was adequate. She cuts me off telling me she doesn't provide wait times. I tried telling her that I wasn't asking about wait times but seating. All I was able to say was ''no I'm not calling about wait times...". She raised her voice and said "well I'm telling you what we don't provide!" if they treat you like that over the phone imagine the treatment in person. I will take this matter to the appropriate personelle
Fiance just tried to go in now, he recently had his wallet stolen so only has the paper from service ontario. They refused to see him! Told him to come back once he gets some identification.
Best staff
Pretty good. MOST Doctors and Nurses are very nice and do their job well, efficiently, and without too much complaint. However. The one Nurse at the triage is an absolute nightmare. I’ve seen reviews about this before, so I know she wasn’t just having an off-day. She’s mean, cold, judgemental, condescending. Name pretty much any negative adjective pertaining to personalities and professionalism and she’s that. I can only hope she gets some basic bedside manner training, seeing as she obviously skipped that in nursing school.
3 hour wait with only 4 patients. One doctor on staff standing around not doing anything. Terrible terrible place.
Always much faster than a hospital and more accessible than family doctor, for non-emergency issues. Open business hours 7 days a week.
The service is terrible. Even if the waiting room is empty i waited more than 3 hours to see a doctor. Nurses at reception kept me waiting whilst they spoke about their dogs
I was sent by employee health yesterday with a booked appointment time and waited in line for over an hour - everyone in my line had an appointment but no one was checking anyone’s appointment time. I had to leave to pick up the kids before I even had my test done. There is no grace period with parking, it was 8$. Employee health sent me back again today for 4:30pm. When I arrived, the security guard said that they should not be booking people past 4pm because they only do Covid testing until 4. I paid 8$ for parking again. They are not reimbursing you if you are an employee either. Apparently public health has also been sending people after Covid testing has closed at this location. Someone should be communicating with public health and employee health to tell them when power is out for 3 hours or when hours are shortened. FYI - urgent care is open until 8pm here but they do NOT do Covid testing past 4:30pm.
(Translated) I had taken my daughter 4 years ago she sprained her hand in rugby they took good care of her Thank you for your confidence and your professionalism ???????? (Original) J'avais emmener ma fille il y'a 4 ans elle c'est fait une entorse à la main au rugby ils ont pris bien soin d'elle Merci de votre conpetance et de votre professionnalisme ????????
The nurses are very racist. I had to wait for 4 hours in order to get helped. The nurses were really rude upon asking about how long woul I had to be waiting.
Took so much time. I had to wait about 3 hours before seeing the doctor. Wouldn't want to go there again.
Worst experience ever! I was pretty much told waits go from most urgent to least. So i guess some ladys spranged ankles more important than my breathing seeing as i went in there crying bit being able to breath. The one nurse looked at me like i was lying, the one doctor sat and didn't leave is office for ove 2 1/2 hours and oh the nurses like to just stand around and socialize with kids. So unorganized mostly because the staff just likes to socialize.
Would give no stars if I could. I broke my hand and got wrapped in a temporary split that didn't protect my broken bone at all and was told to wait weeks in pain like that for a surgeon to call me to see if I needed surgery and refused to refer me to another surgeon so I could get seen sooner. Horrible service, go literally anywhere else if you can.
The staff are friendly and explain to you in details about the procedure. The center is not congested
Extremely rude reception nurse....definitely should not be a nurse
Worst place ever, was lied to about information. Send to another hospital waited for another 6 hours and then was turned away. Horrible doctor
Went for covid-19 test today. Waiting for result. Very friendly persons and good service, very quick.
My husband went there yesterday with a bad cut and couldn't get over how clean the facility was, how quickly he was attended to and how nice the staff were.
After registration at the urgent care, the nurse who was taking my kid’s further information was acting like we were wasting her time: she suggested us could have gone to children’s hospital and save time- fair enough, good to know as first time parents taking their 2yr to a hospital. Then when she needed to clip a monitor on my son’s finger, as I was trying to keep him still and corporate- she violently grabbed and pin down his arm. I was shocked and didn’t know how to react. I am not sure why she acted that way, total lack of professionalism and basic human empathy. So if you would like to receive care without being treated like this, avoid this place.
Intake, triage and care was quick and the staff were efficient and professional.
Took my daughter for Covid test yesterday at our booked time , it was super quick , very well organized and staff were very friendly and great with my daughter , she loved the stickers ! We were in and out within 10 min and didnt have to pay for parking. Thank you Nurses ????
I honestly don't understand why this place has such poor reviews. I come from a smaller town where you need to go to the ER for anything even remotely urgent and the wait time is at least double what it is here. I've had to go to this location a few times for different medical reasons and yes there is a bit of a wait time but they process you as quickly as possible, give you decent care and have everything you need. I've found the staff very competent and compassionate. The doctors are very brief but that is because they have to attend to so many people.
Waited 4 hours for xray results. No one ever come here the staff are rude and careless, doctors were standing around on the phone, eating etc. Waited for so long and saw the doctor for not even 5 mins. Time wasted forsure and nothing was done for me.
Unless you are dieing, they will not take you seriously.
Nice facility, definitely faster than going to an ER for non emergency issues.
They take care of the patient even though there is a long wait
Honestly it was a really quick and great experience. Doctors and nurses were friendly and helpful. I didn't have to wait too long for an x ray or to be seen by the doctor.
My other experiences were fine but when I went in with unknown bites and found out they were from bed bugs the female Doctor was very condescending towards me like I was a leper or something. I'm not a low life and work and pay my taxes like everyone else. Was not impressed.
Great facility for people who need urgent medical assistance. A lot of the complaints are from people with colds who didn't get priority. This is not a walk in clinic. It's for broken bones, eye infections, post-op issues, internal bleeding etc. Great facility with great staff who quickly prioritize and have the tools to either treat you or fast track you to the hospital. So grateful for this facility
Short wait time and excellent care. Everyone was kind and efficient!
Complete buffoons, you'd be better off just walking your injury off. If you're really sore, take some ibuprofen or bathe in some voltaren.
Slooooooow!!! One of the worse feelings is sitting in the waiting room and watching person after person who arrived after you get called in and looked at before you. Today I watched about two to three sets of people get called in before me. Very disappointing!
Came in with a cut open finger and got 4 sutures/stitches from the doctor there. I requested DISSOLVABLE stitches, and was told that I was getting dissolvable stitches. Low and behold, 4 weeks later my finger is infected because the stitches were, you guessed it, non-dissolvable. I was told how to care for my wound sparingly by both doctor and nurse, even asking several care-related questions. I had to rely on the internet for information regarding dissolvable stitches which potentially take "up to a month" to dissolve, so I didn't think there was an issue (until it started to pus and swell). A quick trip to the family physician told me the stitches were non-dissolvable and I should have had them out 3 weeks prior. Now I need to take a weeks worth of antibiotics for an infection that I shouldn't have had in the first place due to the doctor's negligence. I would not recommend going here.
I got there at 9:05AM on Sunday morning on a long weekend. Only waited in line outside for 10 minutes. I think I was only the 4th person in line for urgent care, everyone else in line was apparently going for Covid swabs. By 9:40 the doctor was seeing me, and by 10:20 I was leaving! I had a painful giant burst epidermoid cyst that needed to be cut open and dealt with, and Dr Jennifer Tang (?) was fantastic and made sure she used enough lidocaine and kept me calm. By 1PM I got my followup call for wound maintenance - I was worried that I had forgotten to take a form with me, but they obviously took care of it for me. I do know the taxi drivers complained about the parking machines there, apparently they don't work well, so there was gridlock in the parking lot as people were trying to leave. I suggest you avoid the parking lot. If you just need a swab, park somewhere else and walk in. Security staff, registration, triage, intake nurse, postop nurse, and the doctor were all great, and I'm thankful I didn't have to sit at a hospital emerg all day. UPDATE: downgraded to 2 stars. This is because my abscess was not properly cleaned, and because it got reinfected I had to go and get it reopened.
I have been waiting here for 3 hrs. Clearly was mislead by the words “urgent care” :)
Triage nurse is very condescending and was not listening to me and kept getting the dates wrong of when I told her I was injured. If a triage nurse is not able to properly get the story straight, how can you expect effective care? After waiting 3 hours, the doctor abruptly came in and barely assessed me. Barely touched my feet to find my pedal pulses and said they were present and strong, when specialists have difficulty finding them due to an underlying medical condition. This place should be shut down as it wastes tax dollars to operate. If you want to feel invalidated and be spoken to in a condescending manner, this is the place for you. These doctors shouldn't have the privilege of having a medical license. Steer clear from this facility.
Today I went to urgent care for help. I was having flu related issues. My family doctor was no available and his office suggested a visit to Urgent Care. I was totally impressed with the care and attention I received reception, triage, x-ray and finally the doctor. Dr. English was excellent, very caring, professional and very personal.. Thank you
We came here at 11 and it’s 3 pm with new born baby . Although it’s booked from day before. Disgusting service. When nurse is happy to say it’s the only dr Charlie available today. This long waiting making my new born baby sick . Came for my wife emergency .
I went on a Friday evening because I had a fracture. Service was attentive, quick and professional. This is an outstanding health care facility.
It was terrible service I waited 5 hours for a nurse to come and talk to me after waiting 2 hours to get into a room. I heard the nurses talking about recipes for 30 minutes while they were doing nothing. There was only 15 people in the building and 5 nurses and no one helped me for 5 hours
Friendly staff generally. Less wait time than other emergencies in the area. Lack of privacy at Triage as patients are both behind you and behind the Triage staff. The doc that saw us had little or no bedside manner and rather than treat sent swabs for testing resulting in several days more pain. When he did finally call after a full week he gave us the completely wrong results - totally opposite to the results received by the family doctor four days before. However I don't judge the facility based on one doctors mistakes nor on the one thoroughly unhelpful unfriendly person we talked to on the phone (who fluffed us off repeatedly until I asked her name and summarized the answers she had given me to ensure accuracy). I HAVE been there previously and had a quick friendly experience.
Every time I come here doesn’t matter what it’s for I’m always waiting 4 hours or more, I don’t know how people that come in after with less serious injuries get seen before me and I’m just sitting here waiting staff is nice but horrible service never coming back here again!!
My first time coming here. After calling the Hamilton Covid19 line to book an appointment when I had symptoms as an essential worker. Got an appointment the next day and a Dart vehicle for transport to ensure I stay isolated (don't have a car). Everyone there was so nice and professional. I worried about the false negative tests that arise when the tester doesn't put the swab far enough back but nothing to worry about here. Hit the very back of my throat and the nurse twisted it a few times. In and out within 5 min. Thank you very much for making this experience so easy when I just want to go back to bed <3
Went in today after i ripped my suture open. I knew it was going to be a few hours wait having been to emergency room before. Everyone was pleasant to deal with. The doctor was nice and professional, very apologetic that she wasn't able to do more than giving me some general advice as my rip is in a more specific area that required more expert opinion but at least she spent more time explaning to me my situation than the doctor that has done my procedure at the the other medical facility. As we were leaving, the nurse that processed me came to check up with us. It is a very good and professional facility.
Very long wait time despite not having many patients
Not a walk in clinic. Only open for covid testing.
I have been going every 14 days for COVID test so I could visit sister for 30 minutes each week. Usually, it’s not at all busy on Sunday p.m. I always make appointment. Today the parking lot outside, people were lined up all around. I’m in my 80s & I knew I could not stand for hours. My sister has no other visitors and she is very disabled mentally and physically. This is killing me
I have visited on 2 seperate occasions. Wait time is ridiculous - if you wish to wait less than an hour I recommend being the first person there, even then you are looking at a 30- an hout wait time. Otherwise, you are looking at having to wait 2-4hours! Service - The service is fair. Although, I was dissapointed to see the nurses talking for an hour straight, watching the news and laughing and when I approached them with a question I was brushed off and told to wait. Doctors - I was told to rest and that I was fine. I went to another clinic since I was having respiratory issues. I was prescribed puffers for my bronchitis.
Very organized Safe and clean Friendly helpful staff Fast and easy test Had results back in 24 hours
Had two poor experiences at this clinic. The more recent one was further commented upon by my regular GP, who, when hearing about the diagnostic process here, said " How do they sleep at night?" That is quite a statement. It could be a lack of consistency in which doctor is working at the clinic on any particular occasion . But there are enough superior walk in clinics in the area that I see no reason to try this place again
This is the worst urgent care. My sister went in With abdominal pain and chills and the nurse asked how long have you had this and my sister said it’s been for few hours and then the nurse replied saying “why are you coming now, we can’t do anything for you”. However, they took her in and put her in a room and told her to take the clothes off and wait until the doctor comes. she waited for almost an hour and half with no doctor. She was freezing the whole time and almost fainted. No nurse checked up on her inside the room for the whole hour and a half. What a shame? What if she passed out in the room during this time? Bad care
Great experience. I just got back from the best care you could expect . The staff were great. December 3rd 2017 at 12pm.
PLEASE DON'T GO HERE! Their name says 'urgent' and yet they let you wait for at least 2 hours before they give you fifth class care. They should change their name to 'Non-urgent One Star A Little Care Centre'. Shame.
You'd think it would operate with a hospital level of care, nowhere near that. Needed a CT scan and a referral to ENT doctor, had to figure this all out myself. Doctor attributed chronic sinus infection symptoms to anxiety. Unacceptable.
COVID tested. Walked in off the street. In and out in 5 minutes. Results supposedly online in 24 hours. Easy peasy lemon squeezy! Highly recommended.
I actually had a very easy time here, in and out in 3 hours and professional nurses and Doctors. Many people were complaining about the amount of wait time but its a Urgent Care Center and most of those people had walk-in issues. Admins could use some bed side manner work but hey, Medical admins am I right.
This was once a safe and caring environment where you could rely on receiving treatment in a professional manner. Today I had this misfortune of needing to get a procedure done, but unfortunately am without a health card. (Expired). I understand that it was my responsibility to keep a valid OHIP card and that I would be billed for everything But a disinterested receptionist still felt the need to remind me of that 3 times as well as browbeat me for not having it. I've worked for this company for 10 years and know enough about customer service to recognize how you treat a patient. And barely keeping your eyes open while continuously reminding someone of how long the service ontario center has been operating is not providing assistance. I left due to this woman's rudeness. I'm now on my way to the e.r. at another hospital. Its sad that I can't rely on the one I actually represent.
Garbage service ever met. unprofessional interview in triage, impatient approaching in assessment and impolite question in registration, and nearly breach hand hygiene when care the patient. The most important, they input the wrong DOB onto the armband without double check.
Super staff and facilities, exceeded expectations!
Thanks to doctor there,he is nice and professional.
If I could give it zero stars I would. I had a stroke and this place diagnosed with me a migraine and sent me home. Went directly to St Joes instead and spent the next 13 days in hospital. DO NOT go here if you think you have a real emergency. Go here for a sprain or stitches only
I've never written a Google review before, but this COVID-19 testing centre provided my housemates and I with my test results less than 24 hours after our tests, so I have to recommend this urgent care centre! It was also an incredibly easy process when we got there, and 4 of us were in and out within 15 minutes!
"Urgent" what a joke. Expect to wait at least 3 hours for your turn on a non-busy day. Absolutely ridiculous. I asked the nurse about the waiting time, she said "about an hour". I shook my head. She then said and I quote " what do you think you are ordering from McDonalds ".. here i am still waiting its been 3 hours. Nurses are having their long non ending gossips about who got married and how cute their pets are ect.... I think there are 2 doctors running around and trying to come up with a new cancer cure while taking the X-rays of the three patients that were ahead of me... after 3 hours of waiting.. I'm giving up my turn. Thanks for wasting 3 hours of my life...
The waiting time is extremely long...Got here at 9.15 A.M on a saturday morning. It is now 12.07 P.M and I have not seen the doctor. This is the longuest I have ever had to wait in hospital in my life! Will never recommend this medical center to anyone.
The doctors were very helpful, and referred me to a specialist, which I am truly grateful for
Very courteous, professional and efficient staff (from the security to the nurses). I was in and out in 15 minutes for a covid test (with an appointment). PLEASE BOOK AN APPOINTMENT ONLINE FIRST - its all they ask for.
Sadly, I have to agree with the many reviews that state the staff's lack of compassion. As an R.N., it saddens me to see medical staff treat their patient's the way I was treated. I had a plaster splint applied with my thumb bent backwards in a painful position. I waited for someone to return, and then went looking after half an hour. I asked a nurse to have it adjusted, and left after no one came in the next half hour. The Dr. walked by my room 4 times and didn't even look at me, and no, it wasn't busy.
My experience was less than Pleasant. I was in the urgent care facilities for approximately four hours. Two and a quarter hours that were spent in the waiting room. 1 1/2 to 1 and 3/4 hours I sat near half naked in a gown near freezing waiting for a doctor to see me. The doctor had seen multiple patients around me both after my arrival and during my long stay. No nurse or any kind of other assistant came in to inform me that I would be seen at any time and I was left simply sitting there for almost 2 hours with no attention and its worth noting that i heard the doctor ask about me by name and have why I was they explained to him three times. To call this an urgent care facility is laughable. Nearing the fourth hour of not receiving any care and being left naked on the bed with no one to even checkng in on me I decided it was time to leave and seek medical attention elsewhere. To the few people who do read this I strongly advise to seek medical attention either at a hospital or simply wait for your family doctor to schedule an appointment. You will receive no help here.
I was pleased with my first visit to this clinic. I was in and out in under two hours. All staff were very pleasant, kind and kid friendly. The space itself is well organized and calm (perhaps the calm was a fluke of the time and day I went; 6pm on super bowl Sunday). This will be my go to clinic in future.
Nice facility, triage nurse was awesome. Doctor neglected to but an amount of pills with the prescription so now I'm waiting forever at Shoppers while urgent care now neglects responding. Doctor has left so now they don't know what to do or even care to solve the issue.
You're better off walking to another town to get treatment. I am especially disappointed in the professionalism of the security guards. The phone directory also needs to be improved as it is not very useful at all
Broke my finger and had it taken care of. Great service. Wait times are a bit long but that’s expected of any urgent care centre.
I had spent a total of 6 hours with less than 15 minutes of actual care, only to walk away with a useless prescription, & the risk of someone out there having my own personal information. I will never go back to this clinic! TLDR I went to the clinic a couple of weeks ago, experiencing a tight burning in my chest, & the irritation was causing a cough( I have no fever or symptoms of covid). I have also been experiencing night sweats, & as a former Hodgkin's Lymphoma patient, this made me nervous so I went to the clinic. I saw Dr. Mahn & explained I had used a candle which I believe irritated my pulmonary fibrosis, causing reactive airways, but being a former cancer patient I wanted to be sure & get a professional opinion to ensure it was nothing serious, as these are the symptoms I had when I was diagnosed with cancer prior. She immediately wrote the candle off, & tried to convince me it was heart burn ( I have acid reflux & take medication for this regularly that was not it which I had stated at the time). So to "check all our basis" I was given pepto bismol, which did nothing as expected. They then ran blood work, an electro cardio exam, & did some X Rays. I got there at 10:30am, & because they wanted me to wait at the clinic for my results, I was stuck there for over 5 hours, because the lab techs kept forgetting, or holding off on running my blood work. After everything finally came back, she informed me it didn't look serious, & said she supposed it's just reactive air ways. When she went to walk away I asked what I should do about it, she said if I wanted she could give me an inhaler. So I got a prescription for symbicort, one I usually use but had run out of. Unfortunately, I was unable to fill my prescription because Dr.Mahn had put the WRONG PATIENT INFORMATION! The sticker she printed out & put on my prescription belongs to a Ms. M. Lambie, & it has all of her personal information on it. This is a huge preach of confidentiality because they cannot be bother to pay close enough attention to what they are doing, instead being more wrapped up in personal conversations, than focusing on the task at hand. God knows who out there may have my personal information on their prescription. I am so very frustrated! In total I had spent a total of 6 hours with less than 15 minutes of actual care, only to walk away with a useless prescription, & the risk of someone out there having my own personal information. I will never go back to this clinic.
I once again received excellent care. Thank you all nurses and Dr. Simpson!!! Once again I felt so much better when I left than when I got there.
We arrived at this Urgent Care Centre and we were not sure what to expect based on the reviews. While the space could use some decorating the people made up for the drabness. The staff were helpful, friendly and professional. We did have to wait; there were more urgent cases than ours, but the wait was made almost pleasant by the demeanor of the staff. They were happy and cheerful and clearly enjoyed working there (even on a Sunday afternoon). They made sure we were taken care of and given the best information and followup possible. We could not have asked for any more except, it would have speeded up the service if there was more than 1 doctor working but that's another story. Thank you to the staff on duty the afternoon of November 27th. You made a very uncomfortable situation as pleasant as it could have been.
The staff are highly experienced nurses. Very efficient and professional.
My experience with the Main Street West Urgent Care was good. Obviously others have had different experiences. I went in on July 2 with flu-like symptoms that had persisted for a week and I was not getting better. Although the waiting room looked fairly full, I was seen relatively quickly by the doctor who, given the time elapsed and my age, prescribed an antibiotic. Everyone was friendly and efficient. My visit was exactly an hour and a half. I have never had a problem there.
Waited for an hour and a half to see a doctor. After getting into the room I waited for 2 hours for a doctor to show up before deciding to leave. I voiced my concern to the staff at the 1 hour mark of waiting for a doctor than at the hour and a half mark, both times being told the doctor would come to me next. Waited through multiple times when I heard the doctors and nurses talking about unrelated subjects outside the room and not hearing or seeing any other patients.
Very disrespectful staff with very mean and rude attitude. I’m surprised to see good reviews. I didn’t know that patients can be treated this badly. We already knew that we might wait for a long time and we understand that there is a lot of patients but the fact that we were treated very badly made the wait unbearable.
Waited about 1.5 hours to be brought into a room and was told be the nurse to put a gown on. I ended up waiting 2 more hours in a gown in a freezing cold room to the point that I was shaking and my nausea became even worse. I left after 4 hours of waiting and will not be going back. The nurse was very kind, but do not recommend going here if you are in immediate need of care.
One Doctor. 25 patients waiting. Took over 90 mins to get to triage and now being told it will be at least 90 mins to see the Doctor. The staff are excellent. The facility is excellent. But management needs to invest in additional staff.
Taiwan medical service is the best in the world .Most patients would be entertained within 10 mins once you walk in the clinic .Besides you may choose whichever speciality you would like to consult without going through family Dr who always abuse by their authority to sick people.
Wonderful clinic with kind and caring doctor who was treating my special needs teen today. Wait time was reasonable. Total time there was 2 hrs 25 mins for stitches. Would go again if necessary .
Nice but ineffecient. Doesn't really care and wants you out the door asap. Cdn health care is awful.
Terrible experience waited for three hours and we were not seen by the doctor. It was not even that busy.
PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE! The doctors here don't seem to care about their job. The only thing they care about is going home. They think the patients are not knowledgable and that they're only there to waste their time. Girlfriend had a very bad sore throat, to the point where she HAD to go to urgent Care and was not able to wait for a day. Receptionist was nice and says her throat is very red. Okay that's bad, good thing we're here. After 2 hours of wait time, doctor checks her for not even 1 minute and tells her green mucus is normal, throat seems okay and she should just drink water. We were in shock, didn't even know what to say as he immediately walks out. Why would someone wait at urgent care for 2 hours if nothing is wrong with them? At least ask questions and inquire about the reasons for being there. Today girlfriend takes work off and goes to the clinic in very bad pain, they end up prescribing antibiotics for sinus infection. I personally had a bad experience here as well. PLEASE don't go to this place!!
The 1 triage nurse was a rude, cold, miserable lady who interrogated my elderly mother after a terrible fall. It was a horrible interaction for us after a traumatic event. I would never return anywhere that this lady might be ...
My adult daughter visited the urgent care centre after suffering a cardiac arrest and difficult intubation 10 days previously. She has terrible throat pain and cannot speak well or loudly. The triage nurse was frustrated by this and stated 'you have to tell me in 10 words or less why you are here' and handed her a mask when she said 'my throat hurts', not waiting for the reason why it hurts. After waiting for 2 hours and listening to the nurses at the nursing station complaining that they hated working there and never seeing a patient or a doctor move in/out of the bays, she left in frustration and disgust. We went to another urgent care centre where she was seen properly by a physician in 20 minutes. Very unprofessional and rude is how I would describe the staff here. The visit was June 13, 2017 between 1 - 3pm. I have had good visits here but I must say most of the visits are not positive and I would not recommend this clinic to anyone if there was another choice during the day.
