You would think during a pandemic, they would more professional in regards to people's health. Instead many of the nurses are RUDE, they hang up on you and the they speak with and attitude

Martina Jonasova

I am very disappointed of the way I've been treated at this clinic. I have been trying to get results of my biopsy for a week. This morning I called again and I am caller #23. This is not okay. Another day not knowing what's going on and having to go through my day with all the stress.

Maher Al Sharif

Doctors are really nice. Receipts are awful and rude in talking or recieving the phone calls. There is no transparency when asking about mu doctor or walk on clinic. Really ruins the patient experiences. I guess management should give them more training.

Junaid Zafar

Extremely long wait times for walk-in. Only one doctor is working in busy hours. Wait times average 3 hours. On top of this the doctor gave me the wrong medicine, which worsen my health condition.

SIGNAGE IS POOR both as you enter the clinic on the first floor and at the CML blood testing lab on the second floor. There is no sign telling us as we enter that labs are on the second floor. There is no sign in the waiting room on the second floor for the CML blood testing lab or at the front desk there stating the procedure is first to take a number and sit down, second they will call our number, then we are to sit down again, third they will call our name. This causes confusion when a person does not know the procedure and a name is called. One may think that the name has been called instead of a number, particularly where two people have the same name. No one on the premises has the authority to put up a sign. Also Monday morning is their busiest time they said. Oct. 28, 2013

This is the worst clinic I have ever been to. The customer service is horrible, both my husband and I have been misdiagnosed by the family doctor we used to see. Most of the receptionist are rude and unhelpful. The OBGYN is excellent but other than that stay away.

They give you an appointment and don't stick to it

The receptionists are very rude, today I waited for 4 hours to see the doctor, after we got back home and received the phone call from the receptionists, and asked me to go back immediately, I kept asking the reason because the doctor said we didn't need to do anything. and then I was told they need some documents, I told them I could not go back because I was over 70 , very tied from the long waiting and just got home. The receptionists had the very bad mood and said it was your choice, and then I heard the phone was slammed down.

Booked an Appointment for 3.30pm. The email confirmation does not give you details on the procedure of this online appointment. I called the clinic to find out details, surprised that they let me know that there are 10 people ahead of me for my 3,30 pm appointment. I cant believe how hard is it to figure out an online booking platform and to schedule patients accordingly. If there was a 2 -3 person wait its ok. But a 10 person wait is just pure mismanagement and lack of leadership of this organization.

The doctor in this walk in clinic prefer their family practice patients to a true walk in patient. And the staff at the reception here confirmed this. Be prepared to be bumped out of your position in line if a patient at the family practice comes in, if one of their staff needs to be seen or if they decide they want to place you lower on the list. If you can choose another walk in you are much better off going elsewhere.

The worst attention ever! The receptionist at the diagnosis services was very rude with us, is unacceptable! Has been the worst place ever, Probably because we aren’t from here, I feel that was a discrimination because we are foreigns... I don’t recommend this place at all!

Might be the first time I write a google review but it was THAT bad... Went for swabs Monday for excruciatingly painful sore throat... was told results would be in 48 hours. Called today, told the results were in. Went there, waited 1:30 hour for the doctor to tell me they didnt have the results and didnt know where they were. Told me "maybe tomorrow" and dismissed me. I went upstairs to the labs to complain... turns out the doctor I saw Monday didn't take the swabs properly (she apparently doesn't even know which swab to use for what, she used the genitals swab for my throat!). The technician advised her of that... no one from the clinic called me to tell me to go back and do new tests after being told the first ones were not usable. I guess it didn't matter, they swiped my card. So I went back down to the clinic and asked to see the doctor so she could at least take news proper swabs (after all I HAD just waited 1:30 to see her for nothing!) only to be told by a girl with zero compassion or people's skills (why would you chose that field!!?!) that I had seen the doctor once already today (that 2 minutes she took to tell me she didn't have the results) and that I had to pay if I wanted to see her again. So basically they'll charge the government 75$ for that time she "saw" me and deny me actual treatment when all of that all stems from their own mistake.... and I wasted a week of pain and no closer to an answer. Stay away.

Albany is fantastic. The staff at the desk are efficient, the doctors are all very talented and give consistently excellent care, and the hours are unbeatable. Plus, should you need a x-ray, blood taken or similar, you can just pop right upstairs and have it done in one go! Sure the wait times are not ideal, but you’ll find that in any walk in clinic across the city. These guys at least give you an approximate wait time so you feel like you’re actually able to leave to grab a coffee or something and not spend your entire time in the waiting room. So civilized! I can’t say enough good things. They’re doing it right.

I've been coming here north of 19yrs, back when it was around the corner in the ulta cramped building with a brutally narrow, 1 person only stairwell! Over the years, I've had common ailments and some uncommon, all brilliantly treated by this group. 5 years back, Dr Erin Dalke in Dermatology was the first out of a 2 year search involving at least a half dozen doctors, 3 of them dermatologists, my rare Pyoderma Gangrenosum! And it's been slow, but steady progress ever since! Reception has not been brash with me that I can ever remember, and my GP, hematologist, rheumatologist, cardiologist, and gastroenterologist have all done remarkable work keeping things in check, while we all work through this horrific illness that's taken my ability to walk. My heart goes out to those who had a less than stellar experience with reception, as the rest of the group, nurses included, obviously love their job!

Kim Forrest

I hate the call center. The guy Justin has no manners also doesn't know how to do his job. They need to train their staff properly so they can have an efficient service. If my children's doctor wasn't so amazing I would've changed clinics already.

James Michael Pelobello

I would like to share my experience at your clinic and with one of your employees in particular. Her name is Karla. I visited the clinic with a scary symptoms. I didn't know what was going to happen the suddenly I found myself almost crying. Next the thing I know this angel appeared and I knew everything was going to be fine. She sat down with me and asked me what was wrong? I explained my situation and she told me that everything’s gonna be fine. She did her best to comfort me until I was calm enough to catch my breath. She told me that there are amazing people that are working in the clinic and everyone of them will make sure that I will going to have the best care. I believe she is an angel in disguise. I highly recommend this clinic to everyone. Words are not enough to express how thankful I am to all the staffs. Thank you so much.

Stacey S

The reception staff here are SO rude. Every question you ask is a drag to them. Do not recommend whatsoever.

Rae Migwans

I felt discrimination at this clinic. The concerns that I had about my overall health were not taken seriously and the staff always came off as "cold and uncaring". If you are Indigenous I don't recommend this clinic. I left the Micheal Gargon Hospital yesterday In Tears because of the way I was treated after my doctor, named Dr. Gewurz, spoke to the staff in radiology about having a MRI done. I was given an IV at the start of my appointment and Nothing was administered through the IV. It just sat in my arm hanging off. Throughout the procedure I had a panic attack and requested for the procedure to stop. The radiologist and nurses at first refused to let me go and eventually called the security. 3 security officers came to escort me put of the hospital however only one escorted me out of the hospital. This was a traumatizing experience and I have changed doctor's since. I will never return to the Micheal Gargon Hospital and I will never access Any services provided by The Albany Medical Clinc. I feel like since I left I will be getting g real answers to my health concerns.

I waited about 3 months to get the first appointment of the day with one of the plastic surgeons (I am not saying the name only because I do not know who decides how appts. are booked), only to find out that they booked 4 patients for the 8:00 time slot but the patients are not told in advance to allow them to make an informed decision on whether or not they wish to book the appt. under those conditions, so this is unacceptable and in any case, booking multiple patients for the same time is unethical given that they are deliberately setting patients up to wait for longer than they need to. Why isn’t our time worth anything? Is it because our health-care is covered? Does one deserve respect, only if they are paying for medical care? And in my case, OHIP no longer covers my procedure so I would have been paying anyway. And I already have to plan about 1 month ahead to get the first appt. of the day with my GP because they book an appt. every 15 minutes (also not cool) and I have waited for almost 3 hours in the past (and finally gave up and left without being seen). As an aside and since I am writing, I should also mention that the new lab does not use the take-a-number system even though this is what patients were used to with the previous lab and this is inconvenient and annoying…but the lab techs are friendly and efficient. Now, having said that, and before relaying the poor experience I had today, I want to say that my GP is great; the staff at Albany are generally helpful and friendly; the building and bathrooms are kept clean; and my experiences with the walk-in have all been good ones. So here is what happened today: (and let me preface this by saying that the irony is that I was supposed to see a different plastic surgeon but as he was only at Albany for 1 hour each week in the middle of the morning, I changed to another Dr. just so I could get the first appt. of the day - little did I know...) So, I arrived about 10 minutes before 8:00 and as far as I could see, I was the first to be checked in; a couple came in after me and said that they had an 8:00 with the same Dr. so I thought a mistake had been made but since I was checked in first, I wasn’t worried about it, but when a third person arrived and said that he also had an 8:00 appt. with the same Dr., I asked the receptionist (Carol) why they booked 3 patients at the same time and she said that it’s because every appt. is different (she mentioned consult, procedure, and follow-up), although how that explains why they purposely triple-book for the same Dr. at the same time is beyond me - on the contrary, if they know why the patients are there, they should be able to plan to avoid delays as much as possible. Not wanting to appear unreasonable, I sat back down but when the couple that came after me were taken in first, I asked Carol why and her response was to take me into one of the exam rooms, so I waited until 8:30 and tried to tackle the issue with her again but she was unapologetic, and tells me that she had put in a lady before I arrived , admitting that they booked a fourth person for 8:00 so I just gave up and left. I realize that a half an hour isn’t that long to wait but since there were numerous people booked at the same time, and no transparency, I had no idea when I would be seen and I was missing work unnecessarily. I probably will not leave my GP, but I will be looking for a plastic surgeon's office that has a more equitable booking policy.

The doctor was nice. The staff was awful! Haven’t such unfriendly people....I called on the phone, but no one picked up for an hour so I just walked in there and turned out there is no one. And waiting time was zero minutes! Although on their website it said 45 minutes. Someone showed up late for his appointment and they were really mean to him. Maybe they were having a bad day but we are all having a bad day as well...specially that we are the patients! When you are sick you don’t want to deal with a mean person. I asked questions about how much I will pay and what’s the difference between two kinds of forms, since it was an out of province visit. And they didn’t seem to want to explain anything...they had no patience... However the place looks clean. I saw the doctor right away. Usually when I go to see my family doctor there are nurses to take temperature and blood pressure measurement. That didn’t really happen there. Again only the doctor was nice.

Rifat Chowdhury

Dr. Bhowmik was very kind, compassionate and informative. One of the best doctors I have interacted with!

Corrine S

Albany is really well maintained. Staff are usually well informed and doctors are very nice. Large selection of specialists and family doctors. Have life lab bloodwork in the building. Wait times for the walk in are usually long, but if you get there early, it's easy to manage.

Raza Siddiqui

I got a call from the clinic for a follow up, with no name, extension or department. 23 minutes and 49 seconds later - having spoken to 4 different people - I was told to come back to the walk in clinic. The last person I spoke to gave me plenty of attitude to say she's doing her job and does not control the call centre or the other 2 departments I spoke to. The doctors might be better but the walk-in and call centres need to be improved.

Rose Frose

I've been to the walk-in before I got a family doctor, and I've never had anything but great experiences, both then and now. Dr. Ho is the best doctor I've ever had. She is knowledgeable, kind, and so helpful. I have a few chronic issues, and she has helped me with all of them, including with referrals.

Daniel Morrison

I was a patient here for 4-5 years and in that time was transferred between 3 different GPs because they kept moving back to the UK. I finally left the clinic after my last GP had my drivers licence taken away from me because he was convinced I was epileptic despite never having had a seizure in my life. I was left without a licence for over a year and now have to be reassessed by a neurologist every single year in order to keep my licence. My GP refused to cooperate with the neurologist to get my licence back, so I had to go to another clinic to have them properly assess me and confirm that i have never been epileptic. My new GP (at another clinic) was able to get my licence reinstated within one month of visiting him. Now that I’m gone from the clinic, I receive emails every couple weeks demanding that I have my new GP pay for my records to be transferred over for no apparent reason. My new GP took my health history and confirmed that there was no need for my old files to be transferred. I’ve asked Albany Clinic to stop, but the emails keep coming without the option to unsubscribe. I would avoid this clinic at all costs.

My family doctor is located here. Very happy with her and the services I receive throughout the entire clinic. The walk in clinic is also quite good. Clean. Sometimes you need to wait, but mid afternoon is quicker. Overall, happy with the clinic.

Alexandra Rose

The clinic is clean and spacious. The staff is nice and friendly. The doctor is ignorant, indifferent, selfish, arrogant and bullying. OHIP will pay for the doctor's, not the patient's, needs. I had to apply to the emergency for medical help after such an appointment.

Lolly Surapaneni

Very poor phone service! 9 times out of ten when you call you are waiting for a very long time before you finally hang up out of sheer frustration. For a centre that has so many doctors you would think the least they could do is be accessible. A patient Calling multiple times to make or cancel an appointment is not good for business. I actually walked in to make an appointment after several unsuccessful attempts at calling. I was told by the nurse at the front desk that i should call back!! Could not believe my ears! Luckily another nurse with more sense came along and assisted me...it truly takes all types to make the world

Michael Dunn

Had stitches in my head and went to the walk-in clinic to get them removed. After he removed them he asked me if they were all gone. Being that they were on my forehead it was kind of hard to tell him that definitive answer, like I should be doing that anyway (sarcasm). I went home and 4 days later it started getting infected. My daughter took out one of the partial stitches, and there's still a piece left in there which is getting infected. I can't believe that somebody would ask me if my stitches are removed. But with that said my doctor is great and he is at that clinic.

Michael Iantorno

Not sure what all the complaints are about: I've had nothing but good experiences here! There are times when things get a little crazy at the walk-in clinic, but I think that is more due to the large numbers of patients during "crunch times" than anything else. Great doctors, huge selection of services, convenient location.

B. D.

The walk-in doctors can't do more than prescribing Tylenol. If you have a serious condition go elsewhere. The walk-in clinic receptionists are careless and often rude. Once they forgot that I am registered and waiting and made me wait over an hour even though there was no one ahead of me. I fell on my wrist. It was swollen and very painful. I went there. After an x-ray they told me that there is nothing to worry about. 2 months later it was still swollen. I was travelling and I couldn't stand the pain. I went to a hospital they told me that it's been broken for months. I had another snowboard accident and hurt my thumb same story again. 1 year later finally my family dr directed me to a specialist. He told me that my ligaments are seriously damaged. I wonder if the doctors at Albany clinic have actually cured or diagnosed someone correctly.

Shyam Mohamed

The receptionist here on Saturday walk in clinic is very rude. She is disrespectful to people who are sick and may not always pay attention to signs. She was speaking about someone who was trying to take the elevator who was not well. She was saying how frustrating it is that people don't know how to read signs. She personally spoke to me like and was not specific in her question...it's sad that she is working here. So many people need care that walk into this building and to be working at a medical clinic like this, she should be ashamed to talk to the like like this.

Magda

The WORST clinic I've ever seen!! Tried to book an appointment to the doctor, that according to the website information was accepting new patients, was informed that my application is accepted and doctor will call me back with the dates available. Nothing. Called myself, spoke to the extremely rude receptionist, who informed me that mentioned doctor is not taking new patients anymore. Great. If the receptionists are that unprofessional, how can I trust the medical services provided by the doctors??

Tatiana Rodriguez

By far one of the worst clinics. They have absolutely no manners and do not know how to explain things to walk in patients. Do not go there. There is no professionalism by reception.

saab narayan

Dr.Ivanov has no social skills at all. Worst experience ever in the clinic. Staff are all half knowledge peeps with a big smile and no answers to specifics. Just another money making business!

Sammie Sea

Desk staff tell you how many patients ahead of you, never have to wait in the room for long before the doc comes. Doctors seem to genuinely care about the health of patients there.

Christopher Collins

I see that a lot of people complain about the reception phone line at this clinic, but I just had the most helpful and patient conversation with the receptionist. I called to ask for follow up on some tests, and rather than putting me off, she was understanding and sent a message to the doctor to have him check the results for me. It was all very polite and professional. The doctor experience with my virtual visit was similarly impressive. I could not get a virtual visit with my family doctor for 5 days. I managed to book myself into the virtual walk-in at Albany Clinic and received a call from a doctor in just over an hour. He was patient and empathetic, and explained everything to me clearly. He ordered tests which conveniently could all be done on site at the Albany Clinic, which is near my home. Overall a five-star experience. Good walk-in clinics are hard to find!

Ngo-Trong S

I come 30 min BEFORE the closing time, and I'm told they can't take me because the doctors won't be able to leave on closing time. And then the receptionist tells me they were open at 9 am "why didn't I come then". That's none of your business. The point is that I'm here on time. If doctors want to leave at 3:30, then make the closing time way before then. Horrible service.

Angie Spencer

This clinic has gone from 5 star plus to negative. I have been a patient at this clinic for over 40 years. Who ever runs this clinic needs to do an overall. The front desk is TERRIBLE AND DISSAPOINTING. What happened to this place. Maggie and her team were the best polite helpful kind, caring now its just attitude. I have nothing positive to say besides after 40 years my entire family will be looking for a new clinic. You want attitude you wanna feel like they are doing you a favor this is the place to be. The people that work here need a customer service course and are forgetting they are getting paid.

Salman Sarfraz

Do not go here. Long waiting times. It seems like there is never a doctor at the clinic. Been here for three days trying to get test results and cannot even see a doctor without waiting 45 minutes.

Miruska C

Staff member Anthony VERY VERY rude for my first time call to check up on availability on new patients. I have never been to this clinic before and found it on the internet. But sincerely I do not want to go anymore due to this particular staff member. If they answer the phone and are allowed to speak to people the way I was spoken to I can imagine how it would be if I was a patient! No thank you!!! I highly recommend that they take care of these kind of issues because if you don’t the clinic will slowly get it’s bad reputation on its own or even faster then you imagine, if he continues to speak to people the way he does. Not at all impressed.

H

I don't recommend this place, just like all other clinics in this country you will have to deal with an hour or perhaps 2 hour wait. Customer service is also terrible, which doesn't help things. If you miss an appointment get ready to pay $70.

Rachel Colleen McNamara

Able to get a "walk-in" phone call for the next morning as I called in the afternoon. Dr. Chan was so kind in hearing my concerns and updating my prescription, he made sure I felt heard and taken care of over our brief phone call. It was really great not to feel rushed and still get quality care.

Rivers Kayla (谦寻)

Love my doctors there, never anything but the best service since 1995. However their blood lab is the slowest i've ever encountered. Even the lab in the old building was more efficient. So I timed it today. 30 minutes and 5 people were seen with a staff of 8 as far as I could see, I sat right in front of the entrance and counted and timed. This wasn't an abnormal day, it's like that all the time. I counted the unprocessed files in front of me at their desk, 18 with about 4 processed behind their desk. I'm claustrophobic and had a panic attack so I asked for my paperwork back.

Alida Doornberg

I had an awful experience here. The nurses at reception were rude and and the counter was really dirty with actual stuck on chunks of food on it or SOMETHING... The worst part of my visit was meeting with the Doctor, who was unable to answer my questions, refused to do a physical assessment, and referred me to a different clinic. I was still charged $75 for an "intermediate assessment" because I was from out of province. Unbelievable.

Rachel M

Usually this clinic is not bad but at 1:20 pm when it is packed (over a 2.5 hour wait) and the secretary asks the Doctor if she would like another patient and she responds “ No - I want to leave “ that’s just unprofessional and rude. I feel bad for her next patient because she clearly does not want to be here. Such a shame

Tara Tompai

Today I called the dermatology department to make a follow-up appointment for my daughter. The medical receptionist was very rude to me and I asked her for her name and then she hung up on me. I went to the website to try to figure out how I can make a formal compliant but it is impossible to find out what the process is. I have to be honest I have had terrible experience with the receptionists at the Albany in all areas and as I read the reviews I am not the only one who feels this way. The receptionists play a very vital role and they are the "face" of the clinic. Albany needs to provide some "etiquette" training for their staff. I go there because my experience with the doctors are very good. We have Dr. Haddad and she is great! The walk-in doctors have always been fantastic too!

Antisthenes' Razor

Doctors and nurses are perfectly professional. Reception is useless, especially by phone. If your ringing isn't ignored, they have the phone manners of trolls.

This review is in regards to the diagnostic service baby ultrasound . Receptionist is friendly and knowledgeable. In terms of the technologist I had , I can't speak about all of them. Except the one I had , I feel that this technician and others I had in the past need training in courtesy and compassion towards patients. They very much lack people skills. When you are in a situation like a possible miscarriage and the technician leaves you in the dark with no answer for almost 3 weeks if I have a dead or alive fetus inside me. She did not show me the screen, which is my right . Bad or good news my husband was not allowed to come inside.. She said there was nothing to show . But there is a fetus as it was seen last time , she mentioned it was questionable. I left with more questions. She never walked me through the process. I understand they are just a technician working with a screen but your dealing with vulnerable people who are having serious health issues. I work in health care , after my ordeal is over I plan on bringing or influencing change in our health care system. techinicans should personalize and walk patients through the process and yes they can't diagnose but they can give an idea of progress. Also, my husband not being allowed to see his own baby bad or good news is horrible! It's actually inhuman not to allow the father which is much part of this journey as I am. He should be there especially for bad news !!! I should be allowed to bring him in right from the beginning this policy around baby ultrasounds needs to change !! Also a radiologist should come speak face to face to a woman who needs help who has questions about a misscharriage that might be coming. Family doctors can't always interpret results well. The health care system has failed me completely .

S C

I like my family doctor there, but the staff seem unprofessional and always a tad grouchy. Also super long wait times, I usually have to wait around for about an hour after my scheduled appointment.

Kaylee Miller

Edited 1 year later: staff is STILL incompetent. Why was I told to come in on family day, when the nursing station is closed? The service I receive is laughable. Nurses who don’t know what to do with my forms for a simple vaccination. Frequently given the wrong information and having my time and money wasted. This clinic is mismanaged and disorganized. I can’t come here anymore, and I advise you not to if you’re new. Old review (still the same sh!t): Walk-in clinic hours are NOT stable as they “close early based on client volume”. Would have been nice for someone to answer their phone and explain that to me before I commuted all the way there, expecting them to be open during the time that their phone line and webpages state.

J G

I have been going to Albany since 2010 and have always found the experience efficient, organised, reassuring, helpful and professional. The wait times for the walk-in have always been under 45 mins when I've visited. They offer many services upstairs so referrals and consultations are often very quick. Pharmacy on the main floor and right next to Broadview subway station.

Victor Leo Fonseca

TERRIBLE customer service. I had an appointment booked in advance for 3pm. Due to a power shortage in the MORNING, the clinic sent the staff home for the day, without warning any patient. All patients, me included, were coming to the clinic only to find it empty, lights down, no sign informing what happened. Nobody was answering the phone as well. A rude receptionist explained me what happened and that she could do nothing about it. What kind of clinic does that to its patients? Save your money and time and go somewhere else.

Sam D

This clinic has gone very downhill, I was patient for 25 Years, My dr Suddenly retired. New drs are not accepting appointment at all or till august. Very Very badly managed system. Time to move on , Felt like a discarded rag after years of loyalty, I guess loyalty has no value, this is just a money grab.

Sherry Adams

If you have a Chemical Sensitivity do not be reassured by the stated "scent sensitive" policy they promote. They use Fabreez in the rooms, and the hand sanitizers are heavily fragranced. Even upon warning by the nurse to the doctor to not use the hand sanitizer, that I would not be able to be in the same room as him if he used it, or where they had been used, he still applied it right in front of me, and then expected me to go into the room. When I refused and asked him to wash it with water from his hands he gave me a dirty look and then allowed another patient to go ahead of me saying "I'll give you a few minutes". After such disrespectful treatment, and irresponsibility, clearly I was not going to stay in their chemically scented space and wait for this person to help me. They don't understand their duty to remove access barriers for people with chemical sensitivities from the space, and insist on calling it a "scent sensitivity" which it is not. It's a Chemical Sensitivity. Their policy fails at preventing access barriers. They may as well not even have one.

Amber Anne

I'm a New Patient & thus far I'm impressed. The Staff was Excellent in phone & in person. The Dr. we saw was kind, validating, a good listener, patient, & seemingly very knowledgeable. Essentially a Great experience & environment overall.

Will Clarke

Booked a virtual appointment for 9:55am, get a call at 10:15am saying I'll get a call within 30-45 mins from a doctor. At 10:30am, my phone doesn't ring and just gets a voicemail saying call the clinic to "receive this message". Sat on hold for another 20 minutes only to be told that the doctor tried to call me, but is now with another patient so I'll have to re-book... Only their website says there's nothing available for the rest of the month. I've had the misfortune of relying on this place for a while and I'll definitely be looking elsewhere.

V D

I have had nothing but exceptional care from every department at Albany Clinic. Walk-in clinic is fast and efficient. The reception is great. I always get fast return calls and updates from usually a woman named Emily who is sincere and friendly. I now have a family Dr with Albany. The process was painless and took less then a month which is fantastic by comparison. The life labs speciem clinic and radiology clinic both have been nothing but great especially if you are like me and you are in there often for health monitoring. I always recommend this clinic to anyone who asks.

Hanno Rein

Had an appointment for an ultrasound at 9am. Was done by 9:07am. Very efficient operation. At least for this visit. Staff at reception could be friendlier.

Alan Gallardo

The doctors of this location are fine and do there job properply.. However the lady at the reception gave me such a bad attitude.. It made me want to leave this location. She has no customers service experience and seemed she hated the world.. That my experience here. Don't come here. There are better.

The doctors are great but it's absolutely horrible to get an appointment - the people handling service are just so rude!!! Hire nice people - so many people are looking for jobs!

Anuj Mawadikar

Had a really bad experience today. Went there with my toddler for her vaccination, after waiting for about an hour, was told by the GP that the nurse is not in today and I need to come back on some other day. The staff members were rude and didn't even let me complete my sentences before handing me the forms. Had to see a few eye rolls as well from the staff since my baby started to cry after waiting for so long. I am not someone who gets upset and complains that easily, but this was very unprofessional. I could have been easily informed at the very beginning that I need to come in on some other day but they made me wait just to tell me that.

This clinic is illegally coercing their staff to get the vacks. Under the Nuremberg Code, Canadian Criminal Law and Basic Human Rights, nobody can be coerced into a medical treatment in which they don't wish to participate. Simple as that. Any employer or institution which uses its position of authority to intimidate, bully, threaten or coerce people into getting ANY medical treatment, (for example, under penalty of removal or being treated differently than everyone else) is breaking the law. EVERYONE has the right to body autonomy. This goes for ANY medical treatment or procedure you can imagine, INCLUDING periodic or constant (i.e. 2-3 times a week) intrusive testing. In short, WE are in charge of our own health and medical decisions. Not the government and not our workplaces. To make matters worse, they have taken to discussing everyone's vaccination status openly in order to publicly shame those people who are opting out. A clear violation of confidentiality laws for medical privacy. One last thing. Coercion and/or encouragement by doctors to get a medical treatment (and experimenting on the public) CANNOT be done AT ALL without INFORMED CONSENT. YOU TOOK AN OATH TO DO NO HARM, YOU HYPOCRITES! Doctors around the world are warning about the dangers of what is happening. Why aren't you? Do you list off every horrible effect people are getting around the world when you recommend this treatment? Including DEATH? (More people have died from this than from EVERY OTHER approved shot COMBINED!) Get back to me when you figure out what you've done. Better yet, beg for forgiveness... You are blindly participating in crimes against humanity. Since people are not being properly informed of the risks involved (long term or otherwise) the law is once again being broken by this clinic. (INFORMED CONSENT)

I really appreciate their quick response. During Toronto visit i had some medical issues. I could reach the doctor as a walk in patient (by call) “same “day. That is hard to imagine in Vancouver. Also they open on Sunday, too.

Clint Butler

I am prone to bad bronchial infections. I have been brewing dark mucus for days, my airways are tight (but far from blocked) and it is getting worse and I wanted to be proactive before it escalated. It is hard to find a clinic open on Sundays so it was good to be able to "be seen" in such a short time. The staff there were very pleasant. And the wait wasn't insane. However, I waited an hour and a half to be seen by a doctor who kept interrupting me and, while he did listen to my lungs, he didn't appear to be listening to me. My family doctor has prescribed ventalin puffers for tight airways for me for years and my airways were tight last night and I was finding it hard to breathe at work and in bed - and this doctor refused. I wasn't asking for a miracle. Just something to help me breathe. Honestly felt like I was at a naturopath asking for narcotics. After asking him to please write me a basic prescription for an antibiotic in the off chance that his viral-diagnosis wasn't correct and it worsened and I couldn't get back as my work load is increasing, he obliged, begrudgingly, only for me to find out when I left that he had written me a prescription that I AM ALLERGIC TO - and he had the nerve to question my own doctor's methods. Luckily, I have a great pharmacy team.

Alexandra Pierri

Terrible service in the Walk In clinic. The ladies in the reception were pathetic uncivilized smart asses treating patients like animals. Levels up was the Doctor's demeanor. I have always had a good experience with the Doctors in the clinic.

Brian P

Unbeliveably rude, un-professional and dismissive staff booking appointments over the phone. I missed my Drs phone apt because he called at a completely random time. I was then transfered to walk in clinic where the phone was ringing for 10 mins with no answer. Get your acts together and show a little empathy! I will be transfering to a new family Dr asap...Avoid this place at all costs! Totally unprofessional!

Arash Bizhan zadeh

I was there for a pain. After waiting ng for 3 hours for various steps, they took my blood work, and never get back to me. Even though I was taking medication for possible condition, they never told me what should I do. I called them and after 10 minutes waiting they ordered me to get all the way there.

sharron J

First visit to Albion clinic at my age I have been to a few. I had the best experience, great Dr great staff. I will be sticking with Albion Clinic from now on.

Michelle Poon

I have a keloid scar growth on my cartilage piercing that I got referred to Dr. El Sheikh at the plastic surgery department at the Albany Medical clinic. He told me confidently during the virtual appointment that the removal procedure will be covered by OHIP so I went ahead and booked an appointment for a month and a half later. When I showed up at the clinic the day of my appointment, the receptionist told me that it'll be $600 and that she tried to call me to tell me about the charge half and hour before my appointment time but I didn't pick up. And that she didn't leave a voicemail because the doctor didn't tell her my name. This plastic surgery clinic just seems incredibly unorganized and the doctor does not even know what he is talking about. I am giving 2 stars because I have been to the actual walk in clinic for general illness and the staffs there were decent, just please don't go to the plastic surgery department here. Update after a month*** Albany Clinic sent me an invoice in the mail saying I owe them $600 for the procedure I never got, this is how unorganized this clinic is everybody, unless this is a scam they do.

Natasha Narayan

I went in at 8.30 this morning for a puncture wound on my foot. They admitted me to a doctor within 2 minutes, who gave me stitches and very attentive care as well as articulately explaining what I should be looking out for, next steps, etc. I was really impressed with the service here. The building is old and the wait room isn't bright and fresh, but I didn't care as the efficiency and care of the staff was a far better experience then going to the hospital. Thank you!

Frank

Been a client for years. The new location on Danforth is great! I can almost get all the services and tests done in one place. Convienient. Easy to get to by TTC (rright by the subway and streetcar) and cycling is easy. I can watch my bike on any floor while I'm waiting. Never waited longer than an hour at the Walk-in. Compare that to the hospital. The staff is busy of course, but courteous and efficient. It never hurts to smile- you might get one back! The only complaint I have is that some of the washroom basins don't give enough water to wash with. Highly reccomend.

Mike Fufuffalo

I go here often for various things, and it's a one-stop shop for the most part. They do everything you need there, doctors, xrays, ultrasounds, specialists. I have no idea why this place doesn't have a higher rating. I've been going for years and never once had a bad experience, across two doctors, and x-ray techs and specialists. Even hit up the walk-in once and they helped me with a hearing loss problem, and cured it. Everyone's professional, great place to go.

Nancy Lam

The Walk-In Clinic was amazing - especially Dr. Haddad, X-ray department and the nurse aid. Quick and precise assessment. Would definitely recommend them.

Genevieve

Customer/Patient Service from Reception Staff: Good luck with the reception staff for the doctors. They don't answer the phone especially on the 4th floor for the GPs. If you try to bring your concern to the manager in charge of them, good luck again. You won't hear from them. Four times the call centre directed my call to speak with my doctor's reception and the phone rang and rang until it disconnected. Obviously, this is an ongoing problem if you read the other posts from patients experiencing the same issue. I guess patient service is not important since nothing has been done to address this ongoing issue.

emily challis

I had a very positive experience in here today. The staff were friendly, and welcoming. It was my first time going to this walk in clinic. I came on a Monday around noon, and did not wait long at all. The doctor I saw was also very kind and understanding. I would definitely recommend this walk in clinic, and I'm likely to return to this clinic if I ever need to again :)

Immanuel Newman

They put you on hold and then hang up, or transfer you to a phone line that rings non-stop and nobody answers

Monika Thomas

I had a scheduled appointment with a new family doctor. I was having a medical situation and was going to be running late so I tried calling to discuss this with the secretary. As everyone else has experienced, I could not get through at all. Called and called and the phone just rings. I made it there 20 min late and the doctor said he cannot fit me in(although the waiting room was empty and last time I saw him he was half hour late, so they were able to fit me that time?) and I got charged $50 for missed appointment!! Beware!

M. Le Blanc

Went to old clinic on Danforth most of my life. We come from out of town now and the clinic is fine with a great family doctor. Only issue is parking where most of the time you must drive around the Green P lot waiting for a parking spot to open up.

Janet McCausland

I won't comment on the medical services, but wanted to say that the Albany Clinic is a terrible neighbour. Their property management company get a fail on communication and courtesy with their neighbours.

Michael Greencorn

I've been going here off and on for years and I've had so many bad experiences, some bordering on negligence, that I can't recommend anyone go here for anything. I won't be going back anymore.

Sherrie B

These doctors don’t know what they are doing. Well some of them. I have sleep anxiety and have trouble sleeping which exacerbates my depression. However, when calling a doctor and describing the symptoms she had the nerve to tell I might have covid and should get checked out. I don’t have covid I have anxiety. For years no really knew what anxiety was and it seems they still don’t. A lot of anxiety symptoms can mimick illnesses like heart attacks and the flu. Especially if you are throwing up which I did. It felt like she was dismissing me and not wanting to believe me about my anxiety even though I have an extensive file there. She suggested melatonin for me which does not help as I’ve taken it before but she said oh take this amount and see or that amount....I had to tell her no, I have had this for 20 years I know what it is. Wish doctors would acquire the proper training in mental health because as someone who suffers and just wants some relief it is very frustrating dealing with a doctor who doesn’t believe you or thinks you want a certain medication just to get high. I actually have severe anxiety that if I didn’t get help for today would probably be awake for the next 3 days and will ruin my job and every other thing I work hard for in my life. I never have abused pills in my life!!! And when I have certain meds I’m very careful to take it only when I need it! It hurts to k is that someone could think I just want these drugs to abuse them. I genuinely need help.

Marija Burcar

I love my doctor. She's been seeing me for over 6 years now and I never have to wait more then 5 minutes to get in. I'm not sure about anyone else there but my experience with Dr. Kusenthiran has been amazing so far! I would recommend her to anyone. The ladies in the front have always been nice to me. Even when I run late for my appointments. Plus I like the convenience of having everything in one building. I travel across the city to go to Albany and for me it's worth it!

Jon Berrie

I’ve had pleasant interactions with most of the staff here, including my doctor, who is fantastic. But I recently had a terrible experience with an ultrasound technician who was abrupt, inconsiderate, harsh and simply just rude. Considering she’s dealing with vulnerable people who are potentially anxious and stressed out about their health, I could only see her leaving people feeling worse than when they arrived.

George-PFC-FLNA

Very good doctors and a wide variety of services. The staff were quick and efficient. I can't really ask for more from a clinic.. Well, no parking is a strike I guess.

Melissa Trinh

Currently here for the first time for physiotherapy. I've communicated with Verona to set up my appointment over the phone and got in the next day. So far so good. Physio clinics are usually a downer to me but here it's open concept and staff and service seem gentle, pleasant, empathic and positive. Thanks for taking good care of my shoulder

Hunter S.

This clinic is one of the best walk ins in the city, the receptionists are efficient and very welcoming, the environment is clean and comfortable, and the medical services are accurate and timely. The wait times are sometimes a little long but the wait is worth it since the services are above my expectations. I'll be sure to make this my walk in of choice from now on!

ANN PIKE

I have waited patiently for over 1 hour on hold just to hung up on when it's was my turn. Then my two daughters called also and we were put on hold, just to hung up on for the second and third time.

Jennifer Riley

Not sure what is the point in my doctor partnering with this after hours when they decline patients even an hour before they close. How are people supposed to avoid expensive (for tax payers) visits to the emergency room when clinics like this are not prepared to handle the overflow of after-hours needs?

Ayse K.

Worst clinic can say the least. I have been trying to reach the walking clinic for hour and a half and no wonder bothered to answer and say we are full can’t take any more patients ???????????? also when I need a refill my pharmacy send a fax to get a refill from doctor it takes for ever to receive back….. HATE THAT CLINIC wouldn’t go there if that wasn’t my family doctor

Helen Marshall

All of the doctors I have seen at the clinic have been great however the system where I have to phone in to a central number, then wait on hold (today) for 45 minutes to be told that I now have to call back when the other receptionist is in, is absolutely insane. Why can I not be given the direct number for the receptionist I have to speak to? Also, the agents in this call centre are extremely rude, today she hung up on me before I had finished asking my questions so I have to call back and wait on hold another 45 minutes!!!

Alex madgett

I am extremely upset and disapointed by what has happened to me at this clinic. Dr. Jangra has been my family Dr. for 2-3 years now and he was adamant to get me on antidepressants. I finally decided after two years to try and I'm glad I did because they've been helping me a lot with anxiety. He told me to call back to discuss my medication and refill my prescription. It took me two weeks to get an appointment which is fine. He told me he would send two months refill to my pharmacy. I do not drive and biked 30 minutes to get it and it was not sent in. The clinic was faxed for authorization and they said NO. My pharmacy faxed them again with a note explaining I had an appointment for this and how important it is I get the medication as it is very bad to just go off of Zoloft and they said NO again. This has caused me severe anxiety and an anxiety attack. I have had to go to a walk in twice for my medication because they never send my prescriptions in. Needless to say I am never coming back ever again and this has not been good for my already not great mental health.

KARIN J MACHARDY

I suspect anyone can write a review. Foes and people working there. But there is clearly something wrong here. i have been trying for days to get hold of someone at physiotherapy , left messages etc. No answer. Really.... SAD

sajjad khatri

I never ever seen worse customer service like this location all staff and Family physician Dr. Karolina Ivanov

Lewis Kennedy

I rang about a fractured vertabrae at 12:00pm on July 23rd. The receptionist I got through to was extremely rude. I was looking for a family doctor to help oversee my healing. When I explained my condition - she was cold and short and didn’t ask any of my symptoms or showed any empathy. She said there was nothing she could do and hung up as fast as she could. I was feeling really upset after the call due to the pain and stress I’m in. This clinic is not personal at all - and you’re just a number. I’d go somewhere where the staff have a bit more humanity. 1/5.

S G

Open 365 days of the year. Been here multiple times over the past few years and never once had a bad experience. While the walk in clinic tends to be a busy spot, the doctors are great. Highly recommend

Lynn Lospinuso

Today I saw my GP, had a mammogram and saw my OBGYN. What a positive experience. All visites were very good. The doctors, receptionists and technicians here are so professional and kind.

M. Cee

For the most part, I have had exemplary treatment at the Albany. For example: I've been sent for unscheduled x-rays, and been back up in my doctor's office with them in hand 15 minutes later. And I've had my doctor come looking for me when I was getting blood drawn at their lab, because he heard that I wanted to talk to him. Most of the bad experiences were with ???????????????????? ????????????????????????????????. (Miserable, rude, demanding patients, are an everyday occurance for the staff to handle.) There are far too many wonderful staff to name them all, but Adelina, Bev, Larissa, & Margie have just the kind of caring, good humoured, professional skills that you need when you're not feeling well. Thank you, all. ❤️

Kyle

I think its a great place! Yes there are some characters, but everyone is pretty endearing. Walkin is busy, but most are. My family Dr is here and I have no complaint thus far.

ChaoticCreations

Its pretty sad when Public Health has to call you to ensure the treatment from this clinic was done properly due to past issues they've had with the location.

Gareth Probert

Rot in the waiting room for hours while the impatient and rude reception whispers names of the 15 patients ahead of you. Way too busy and way too understaffed. Filthy. Unorganized. Unprofessional.

Jenny

the staff at the desk/the receptionists aren’t the nicest and are generally pretty straightforward in asking what you’re there for etc but considering how busy it gets it’s understandable. the doctors i have seen at albany, however, are some of the kindest i’ve had in a long time! they were super helpful, nonjudgmental, and patiently answered any questions i had. the wait is kind of long sometimes but i think it’s worth it

Genevieve D

I have been a patient, and still is, of Albany clinic for over twenty years, even when the clinic was on Danforth. I feel that I should mention how I have been pleased and lucky to be able to walk there for necessary blood tests or all their other services. . The doctors, in case of emergency, are fast and caring and send you immediately to the X rays department, ultrasounds, physiotherapy etc. All the staff and medical professionals are extremely kind, polite and caring and particularly the physiotherapy team. I highly recommend Albany Clinic for all you medical care.

Sharmin Akhter

such bad service! i went in there just because it was a closer location but they could not even do a normal urine pregnancy test. in other clinic they did it in few minutes. here i followed up with them for three weeks for an answer and then gave up. its been a month now and they never called me with my results. never going back again. they should take every patient seriously because we are all waiting the same amount of time.

Michael Hale

Extremely discriminating towards people with disabilities. Not professional and very inflexible. They seems to prefer older age and wealthy - mostly white privileged people. They refused to help me because my healthcard have incorrect version code but they called Ministry and found correct one but still refused to give me appointment because of that!!?!?!? Absurd! Inflexible and intolerance - not friendly towards me because I am Deaf.

Y Fernandez

I had an appointment for blood work and they called me in 40 minutes late! I went to the desk after 20 min of wait and they told me to wait or leave. So rude and incompetent!

Timo C. Chen

It is a good clinic with every service available in the same place. Their walk-in clinic typically has a wait of about 1 hour, which is relatively short for Toronto standard. Their medical staff is courteous and it is a nice experience to be there. I saw a mother bringing in her baby to the clinic and they prioritize her visit, which I think is actually a nice thing to do. X-ray does not need appointment and is super fast.

S Otoya

Wait times are long. Walk in clinic front desks staff can be rude. Great doctors and lots of services in house. This is a great location if you take TTC

James Graham

Slow responses. Poor follow-up. Delayed appointments that should be face to face. All to pump more through the system to make more money for themselves at the expense of patients. Min 20 min wait times on calls usually its more like 30-40. Health system is screwed and these guys are both a cause and a symptom of the problem.

Zara D

My family physician is great, she is very polite, understanding and sympathetic. She is caring and comforting. However, I can’t say good things about the receptionists and other staff there who are arrogant and rude. They treat you like they do you a favour when answering your questions. They even billed me for an appointment I never booked. After I explained that I never booked an appointment with them, that they made a mistake, they had the nerve to reduce the charge to $35. What a joke.

William L

Right from the start when you first check in very professional at the front desk. & Also Dr's are Excellent. I have no complaints at least my Doctors very understanding and takes the time that is needed with me

Ryan Cotton

Over the past few years I have been to this clinic particularly during moments when my family dr was unavailable. The staff are friendly, quick, professional and the place is quite clean. It’s everything you want in a good medical clinic.

Keiron Kozy

Great experience with doctors. Have net some bad apples with receptionists and certain specialists, but overall been great. Tons of services in one building. Also has walk in clinic.

Karen Gleeson

My family GP is at the Albany Clinic (shout out to Dr. Roy!!!), but I would also like to take a moment to share my experience for the walkin clinic. My husband just had a scary medical event involving his eye. The walk in booked an immediate appointment, via video call, and requested photos, so that he could start off with a course of treatment, and what to look for in case his symptoms worsen. I know sometimes the the staff are busy, but these docs are truly the best in Toronto. I would rather deal with an abrupt receptionist, and the best doctors in the city.

Mosaic design

WITH an appointment is a very, very long wait. I had told just to wait max 45 mins. I waited for an hour and I started to complain,so they sent me in and after 15 mins Dr did not come, I had to leave. It was really radicals. Staff is very nice, because they have to be nice for long wait hours.

Ray Situ

I came here around lunch on a Thursday and the place is busy. The lines are long and it seems that the doctors / specialists juggles between two patients at a time. It's conveniently located right beside Broadview subway station. Walk-in clinic on the first floor and family doctors along with specialists on the other floors, each with their own reception. I came to see Dr. Nowtash (the optometrist here) for an eye exam and she was great. I'll probably be back when I need another eye exam in a few years.

Kay B

I work in health care, and have always been beyond impressed with the efficiency of the WIC. People perceive the "walk in" as now! Because i dont feel like waiting. Given the size of our city their wait times are excellent, with competent Drs who are not eager to throw medications at you.

Caryn Charlie

Really disappointed. My x-ray results are being held hostage and I cannot get them unless I go in and wait for hours to see the doctor...with a respiratory issue, that's unforgivable. I won't be going back to this place, where the receptionists are mentally about 6 years old, combined, in their silly antics and embarrassing behaviour. The phone rings for 20 minutes, no voicemail, no ability to speak with anyone and the switchboard (who can't answer any questions at all) send you to xray who can't answer questions and then back to the non-stop ringing reception. Totally shocking for medical professionals.

Samantha Hassell

I was not pleased when it came to their customer service line I called, in regards to picking up a test and asked what do I need to pick up the results and I was told that all i would need is my Photo ID (not my health card)!! I know I just got my paper health card & I'm still waiting on the official card itself but had she said Health Card over the phone I would have brought it in. It was a complete waste of time coming down to the clinic to get my test results and AGAIN PAY WHO KNOWS ANOTHER $45 OR $75 DOLLARS JUST TO GET MY RESULTS !! Sigh Miscommunication at its best I should have asked her to be clear on what exactly is a ID as a Ontario Photo Health Card IS NOT A VALID ID!!!! Frustrated

jackie kelly

I really enjoy that everything is in one building and I like my family doctor. The clinic is efficient in getting to the bottom of issues quickly and they follow up and offer referral as needed. All the referrals have been great and things get done a whole lot faster than anywhere else I've been. My experience with the walk in has been good as well. Overall I'm very satisfied with the care I've received.

Annette Parent

The xray tech went above and beyond her duty to ensure that I got treated immediately. Thanks!

Sara

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I saw Dr. Karolina Ivanov for a Pap smear which resulted in me yelling in excruciating pain. I’ve had Pap smears before by other doctors that went well because they took their time knowing how painful it is for women. But Dr. Karolina Ivanov thought it would be ok to quickly and forcibly SHOVE the speculum into my vagina. Even when I started yelling out in pain she continued. So I stopped her and just left. Once I got home I noticed a little blood so clearly I wasn’t overreacting. What a horrible doctor.

Carrey Lisa E

I almost NEVER write bad reviews but this one deserves 0 stars. The young, miserable girl at the desk was SO rude. It said they were open from I think 830am to 830pm. I went at 345 on a Saturday and there was a note on the door saying they were closed. I went inside to double check and the girl said no were closed. That was fine until...I was waiting for an Uber just outside of their office (but still inside the building), the girl comes out and rudely says “this whole building is closed you need to leave”. She said this in such a rude way. I said “ok...I was waiting for an uber”. She says nothing. It was her whole tone and wording that really threw me off. She could have politely said “sorry this whole building is closed now can you pls wait outside?”. Miserable girl. Do not go to this clinic !!!

Paula Nilsson

In Albany clinic I have just good experiences. The costumer service is good, the doctors are very patient and good too. Sometimes I can guess that the staff is a bit stressed(I believe because of the high amount of people that call everyday and the COVID-19) but, in my honest opinion, definitely they are not rude. Thank you so much for your costumer service.

Samantha Davey

First I'd like to note that this office advertises that test you for Hepatitis C. There are many adults who live with Hep C everyday and have no idea. Please consider talking with your doctor about this. This morning I had to rush to a walk-in clinic as I was convinced I had an ear infection. I chose this one as it opened early, at 8AM on a Saturday morning. There were two receptionists which was great as it was quite busy. There were several people ahead of me and while I expected to wait an hour or more, I was seen within 35 minutes. Great service. I was given samples as I cannot afford the medications the doctor reccomended. The doctor also gave me antibiotics to use IF my symptoms continue or worsen so I didn't need to return later on in the week, I appreciate they do not push antibiotic use. I can't confirm but I'm quite positive there were two or more doctors which obviously led to the fast service. I also noticed an infant child and a man who only had some papers he needed signed got to go in ahead of me. At first it is frustrating but I think whatever procedures they have in place are there to serve everyone as best and as fast as possible. Everything seemed quite clean, with Kleenex, garbages, and hand sanitizer available for everyone to use. (Though the sanitizer at the front door was out and I didn't check the washroom.) Edit: I returned to this clinic. Still 5/5. Two doctors got me seen very quickly. XRay department upstairs was SO fast I didn't even have time to sit and take my coat off. Very impressed.

Valery de la Rosa

This "clinic" sucks. Mostly bad and rude people. I try to call several times to know about a particular medical problem with my doctor and I was left on the phone for several minutes several times. Not consideration with their patients. when somebody finally picked the phone, this woman was soo rude and hung up on me. I'll be moving to a different clinic where they actually provide care and basic manners.

John Chittim

The doctor my mother visited here ignored her stomach problems for years, by the time we got the doc to take her seriously the cancer had spread to her lungs and spine, they basically said "get comfortable at home, your to far gone" When my father found out he had a tumor next to the memory center of his brain he applied to ODSP, since he was slowing loosing his mind he couldn't work and I had to stay home and look after him. Thing is; to get ODSP your doc has to fill out part of a form basically explaining whats killing you, the doc here took months to get it done, something that really only takes 15 minutes to complete. When I got fed up with the wait and demanded he fill it out he responded with "See all my work? (Tapping a stack of files) you wanna come around and do this work? huh!?" it wasn't until we said "Fine we'll go find another doctor if you cant be bothered to do your job" that he finally did it. Dad died a month later. Simply put; if you love your family, want them treated with respect, don't come here.

Aviva GS

I started going to their walk in when I first moved to the city from the suburbs. It was tough to get to my old family doctor. Waits were always long but that was expected. I then ended up seeing Dr. Jessamy as my family doctor and can I just say, she’s the best! Honestly! I love how everything is in the building that I could ever need. The only thing I’d say is, some of the receptionist son the 3rd floor to the left, can be a little rude. But, it’s my go to place!

marija bonaparte

After not having a family Dr. for a long time, the clinic suggested that I apply for a Dr. with them. I called in September 2016 and signed up with Dr. Jessamy. I was told that I would be waiting a couple of months as there are a number of people on the list ahead of me. A couple of months wait seemed reasonable after not having a family doctor for a while. I didn't hear back from the clinic and my calls weren't returned until February or March 2017. At that time the receptionist called and informed me that a spot finally opened, except that it wasn't even with the doctor who's waiting list I'm on. I told the receptionist that I wanted Dr. Jessamy to which she replied that I could be put on her list, but would have to wait for a few months. She was not interested in the fact that I had already been on her list for almost 6 months. It's now November 2017 and I still haven't heard back from them. I've been on the wait list for a year and 2 months. When I do get sick and visit their walk in clinic they tell me that I should be seeing one of their family doctors instead. Call me crazy, but a year seems like a ridiculous amount of time to wait to be seen by a doctor who's accepting patients.

Martin Millican

What inspired me to write this was reading through the other reviews. I noticed a pattern of higher ratings for those who’ve been using the clinic regularly and lower ratings based on specific instances - especially at the walk-in clinic. I’ve been going to the Albany Clinic for almost 30 years. I didn’t have a good experience with the first physician I was assigned to so I asked to be switched to another, which was a straightforward process. This clinic offers a uniquely broad range of services. I’ve rarely had to go anywhere else. When I have had to visit a hospital or another clinic I’ve almost always been satisfied with the referrals. I have never had an experience I would consider unprofessional. I didn’t give the Albany 5 stars because it’s not perfect, but if it had been a rating out of 10 I would have given it a 9.

Long waits on phone. If you have to deal with Mary she is not very friendly and is very short with you! Not able to get emails or get an extension for your Doctor! Not a place I want too deal with!

Jennifer

I've used the walk-in clinic twice and both times were a terrible experience. Extremely long wait time, rude front staff and the doctors don't even listen to you.

Brittany

This review is specifically for Dr. Tao Allan. I've had many positive experiences with this clinic and will continue to use them. However, I hope I can avoid conversing with Dr. Allan ever again. I've never felt so defeated after speaking with a doctor. I had a list of concerns to go over with him and he was quick, dismissive, and overall quite rude. I left the call crying and feeling really unpleasant. He could tell I was getting frustrated and rather than helping me, he was sarcastic and rude and made me feel a lot worse. Why put patients through the misery of feeling worse after a call, when they're probably not feeling the best in the first place.... I wish he could have been more empathetic. It’s COVID times so I’m understanding of the amount of calls they are receiving and patients they are diagnosing. I don’t think that should take away from the quality of a 10 minute call with a patient.

Sam Iam

The receptionist staff at this clinic are horrible. You will not feel welcome here. I had questions both before and after I went in to see the doctor, and both receptionists I spoke to were unpleasant. The clinic is not easily reachable by phone or email. Expect long waits in an overcrowded environment.

Calum Mascarenhas

I'm happy with the clinic and its services. When many clinics were closed off because of the pandemic, this one managed to see a loved one to help diagnose an injury. Virtual and phone appointments were good.

Tina Lee

I went there on saturday for allergy testing. The service was great. The nurse and the doctor both were knowledgeable. They were both kind and answer all my question. First the nurse did my testing and explained me what she was doing ( which i think is very important for someone like me who have never had allergy testing before). She was very pleasant. The doctor were great too . I like how they provide this service on saturday where i dont have to miss work.

A Mcfadden

This is not only the absolute worst walk in clinic I’ve ever been to but possibly the worst business in Canada. The staff are not knowledgeable, they are not friendly, and act like baboons infront of patients. I highly suggest you avoid this “practice” and take your health concerns to a real doctors office. I personally feel that Health Canada should investigate this place.

June Wilson

I am hearing impaired, and I find the desk staff very unhelpful. Even when I tell them I have hearing problems, they continue to look down at their computers, so I hardly hear what they say. When I first came here as a patient, before sudden hearing loss, I found them very pleasant. I think the staff need to understand how difficult it is for people like me to cope with our hearing problems. If I say to the receptionist, I have hearing problems, she should be trained to understand and speak slowly. If I were blind, she would make an effort, I am sure. I like my doctor, but I think there is a problem with the desk staff. I find them all very unfriendly. Is it too much to smile?

Andie Smith

Website is easy to use and doctor was pleasant to talk to. The phone reception was quite rude though, sounded like someone who didn't want to be there. But it's a tough job. So if you can book appointments via the website, do that.

JZ R

Served by an Eastern European woman, with no people skills. She was very impersonal, abrupt and not helpful at all. She did not introduce herself, I heard someone call her "Daniella". She wears her lab uniform on the street, which is against public health. This can spread disease borne bacteria. Anyone can report this to the public health department. The clinic should monitor that their staff not wear their uniforms to and from work. Felt very uncomfortably and mistreated, will not use this clinic again.

Svenja Carina

It was everything I expected a Walk-In Clinic to be. Got there 10 minutes before it opened on a Sunday. Receptionists were already there and signing people in, working efficiently and as quickly as possible. Of course there was some wait, and the room filled up even more as I was waiting to see the doctor, but that's what happens in a walk in... The doctor I got to see was friendly enough, prescribed what I needed, explained how to take the medication and sent me on my way. To some, the staff my seem a little impolite or condecending, but I felt they were just trying to get everyone the treatment they needed, as soon as possible. Next time I have an issue, I will be sure to return - but I will also make sure I show up early again.

Canada

The clinic was clean and receptionist were polite, went early in the morning and the wait time was 4 minutes. Doctor Margaret Haddad, was very rude and rushed me, I wanted to ask if the medication she prescribed would interfere with my current medication (it does) and she did not allow me to ask... zero professionalism and commitment to the profesion.

Dev Account

Poor customer service from receptionists. They don't know how to properly book appointments. You better call to double check once you make one because the staff don't know how to use the computer booking system and may just book a random day. Who knows maybe they do it on purpose just for kicks.

Kate

Staff is incredibly rude, I understand it is a stressful environment but the lack of organization and compassion is shocking. Been “coming” here for years and it is it nearly impossible to get an appointment. Save yourself the trouble and go anywhere else.

Y C

I would give 0 if I could, the doctor I seen today was 0 patient,I told her I need prescription to refill because my family doctor is on vacation and told her I have a neck and back pain ,and other small issue, she said “sorry I only can answer a question at once, because there is so many peoples waiting.” 0 profession. Doctors should be very concern any little symptom of what patients getting. And when I went drug store to pick up my prescriptions, pharmacist told me the prescription was WRONG . I end up have to go another walk-in .Very frustrating experience,do not waste your time here.

Aneta

I second a complaint about Dr Tao Allan. Absolutely horrific manner, sarcastic, not emphatic. Also, the clinic itself needs to be reported to the ombudsman. My regular family doctor is great, but the reception is a joke. I tried making appointment today and there is nothing available in their online calendar for a month. Walk In Clinic calls are not showing at all, I called the reception and they logged my appointment request and said the doctor will call me sometime today, refused to give me time, yelled at me etc. I need to change this clinic.

A Husna

Around 4 yrs earlier we changed my family physician. We chose Dr Olsheski. Ever since we are with him. He had been always very efficient; knowledgeable and helpful. He always gives us patience hearing and does his best to help us with all medical needs. The facility has a lot of service under the same roof. It's been very convenient for all my family members to access services here at this location. Sometimes there is a bit of wait on the walk in but considering the location of the place and quality of services we should not complain about it. It's at the heart of the city and very conveniently located. I am very satisfied so far with their services. Would recommend the clinic to all my friends and family. Great clinic. Asma

Alison Galt

Always a two hour wait for walk in visits, but amazing that it is open every day. Doctors on the whole pleasant and helpful but if you go to drop in and try to get test results - good luck! The only way it seems to get your test results to go back and wait two hours in the walk-in and hope the doc tor has the results. Some lab work gets lost and never passed on to your family physician. Went in on two separate days for tests and was told that to get the results, you had to go back and wait (for another two hours) to try to see the doctor who ordered the tests and hope they have the results. Nuts!

I opted to cancel my appointment after the receptionist told me they wouldn't accept my requisition from another doctor for BLOOD WORK... what does it matter? We have OHIP in Ontario and this clinic would be forcing me to make another appointment for the SAME thing I did with the walk in clinic doctor last week (want blood work to see if i am deficient in Iron or any other vitmins/ minerals since I switched to a non meat diet). Basically they are just stealing money from OHIP being greedy forcing me into an appointment so their doctor gets paid .... so now 2 doctors are supposed to get paid for literally writing me a requisition ? I don't think so. This is not ethical or supportive of Canadian Growth or Economy or in respect of our healthcare system. Plus do you really think people have the time to DOUBLE the work they need to do to get to the doctors and wait for an appointment anyway? Boycott this place.

Carolyn P

I've had really good docs here. Everything is connected which makes referrals and access easy. The one down side? Their reception and admin staff. Truly the most apathetic ppl I've ever met. Not rude. They simply don't care. Particularly when ppl visit on their worst days.

Jess Harper

This is the worst medical centre to call if you’re trying to get ahold of anybody. I have been a long time client of Dr.Adno’s but I will be moving on as this is the FIFTH time in a row that I have called for over an hour straight and couldn’t reach ANYBODY. If they close at 6:00pm be sure to call at 12:00pm so that MAYBE you MIGHT be able to reach somebody via the phone. It’s nearly impossible to book appointments because of the receptionists lack of care, professionalism, and consideration for clients. This place has really gone down hill.

The Brave

Please update your website so you can actually book an appointment…

Two days ago while I was at the clinic having fizioterapie for my hands I start having terrible chest pain so I went to the family practitioner at the same clinic and while I was screaming from excruciating pain falling down to the floor crying screaming for help having obvious symptoms of heart attack feeling I was dying right there in front of the doctors nobody did nothing nobody took me seriously unbelievable!!! In that condition I went out from the clinic come home and went to the emergency! Complete medical negligence! People can literally die in front of their eyes and they would do nothing! I am in such a disbelief that something like this can happen in 21 century in North America !!!!!!!!!!!

Caitlin Drake

Terrible experience here. My child was sick with a very serious illness, and it took them 5 days to call and confirm the diagnosis after the tests came back to them. Apparently they had “lost” my phone number. (I had given them three different phone numbers and an email address to contact me at, so I’m not sure how this is even possible). I even called them during that period to ask about the diagnosis and was told I had to wait for the doctor to call me. The operations management/administration at the clinic is absolutely appalling — there is no way this ever should have happened. My child’s life was literally endangered because of their series of mistakes. Please don’t put yourself or your loved ones in their incapable hands!

Anyesha Mahapatra

worst ever clinic. I tried to call them thousand times due to payment of missed appointments. They are super rude, never answering calls and moving the call to diff departments. The lady on the call would not listen and just talk and cut the call saying thank you. Horrible experience. I would say avoid this clinic who dont have any humanity towards people. Less God knows how their treatment will be!!

Michael Bryden

This is a review for Dr.Mohan. If you are in search of a Doctor who goes the extra mile, Dr.Mohan is the doctor you want. Knowledgeable. Practices what he preaches. Always makes times. Ensures you fully understand the scenario at hand. Attentive. Hands down the best doctor I have had.

Sandra Almaguer Arellano

I had a very bad cut on my finger and the doc that I saw on Sunday terrible.. I don't understand how he is a doc.. I'm upset that he even gets pay.. he should be doing something else.. I hope he gets fired. DONT GO TO THIS WLAKING CLINIC ...

dan scoyne

My family doctor has always been hit or miss when it comes to getting an appointment. The walk in clinic used to be the saving grace, but they have gone downhill now also. I’ll be look for a new doctor and clinic moving forward.

Anna Philippova

Shame on you Albany Clinic. Had an allergist appt set up for my 5yr old a month ahead. Had a physio appt booked for her at Sick Kids same day. Day before appt, Albany calls to reschedule the time because the doctor has to leave in the afternoon. Reschedule the physio appt for a different day to still make it to Albany. They call the morning of appt to ask we come in in one hour. I tell them it’s impossible because we physically can’t get there fast enough. Show up at the clinic 15 minutes late. Getting a 5 year old dressed, pouring rain, traffic and finding parking there was not easy! The doctor already left!! So you know a month before that we are coming. We make arrangements. Miss a day of school. Take a day off work. Work around your schedule to book another medical appt. and you try to change the appt 2 times in 24 hours and then don’t even wait?! If you had a meeting, how is it that you leave for it when we would have still been there for the allergy test during that time?

Hosa Stanikzai

I think the doctors here are very very professional. I love it. The longest I have waited is 40 mins but its worth the wait. I have my family doctor there and I use their walk-in as well. I like and trust my own doctor alot more than the doctors at the walk-in. I have had great experience with them so far.

Kealani Izumi

The receptionists of the walk-in clinic are extremely impatient and short with the patients. This kind of treatment of the patients will surely affect your google reviews. The doctors are nice, but receptionists need to work on their tone.

Andrea R

Sadly the Albany was a very good walkin. Now, there system for booking and call back for the walk-in doesn't work. I have tried on 4 separate occasions to book online and then I called and left a message. They say they return calls and they never did.

Javier Batres

Bad experience. Receptionist at the walking needs to be changed. The lady at the walk in reception is rude in the phone and doesn't want to help people or guide them to help their needs, why is she doing this job if she doesn't want to do it!???? I'm never going back or calling back to Albany clinic after this experience and I'm also letting all my friends and family know so they also don't go there until some changes are made in the front desk walk in clinic.

Josewin

Hi all, my family doc is a busy man who has no time whenever i book.Always when i book an appoinment the receptionist elder lady is too rude. She mostly say my family doctor is full with paitents.Recently i called to book,my baby fell down and got hit on her back, she just said my doctor is busy today and cut the call. I felt really bad for that. Also Its too long to wait to see the doctor. Otherwise blood works, other testing, scanning is good.

Dannie Stevens

I would like to compliment Albany Clinic on their quick and efficient handling of the Covid 19 shots. My appointment was for 9:40 and my shot was given at 9:43. I don't think you can beat that. Thank you

Liliana Judic

The team of practitioners do their best to support their patients. The administrator agent is the best and take the extra mile to get things done in a timely manner. Thanks again!

Markopolo Papi

Poor and rude costumer service, i called the walk in and the lady who is picking up the phones is rude and seems like she doesnt even want to do this anymore, i just found out my fiance is pregnant witch i told the lady and need it to go for a first time checkup and the woman at the reception was very rude and didnt want to book the appointment. I would not recomend this clinic due to the poor costumer service and lack of professional receptionist at the walk in clinic.

G Harris

My doctor (Dr. Fung) is the best! However, I’m putting this review on so that I’m hoping SOMEONE from management sees this and gets reception more help or someone in Ops address the lack of responsiveness on the phone lines. Always excessive wait times, and today 3 calls later and total combined wait of 50 mins… No answer during business hours. Booking online only works sometimes - as of now nothing available with my doc or walk-in for 2 months. Clearly an error. People here are amazing when you get to talk to someone. But that is rare.

Liz Atkinson

I have enjoyed having my family doctor here for years as I can get all testing done in one shot without having to go around the city. As someone with a chronic condition this is very very helpful. I do see alot of posts about the walk in clinic hours. With all walk in clinics you must give yourself 1.5 hours to see a docter. The average around the city is far worse then that and I have never waited more then 55 mins to see a docter at the walk in clinic. I also look on google to see what the busy times are and try to work around that. Just an idea for those that need to go in.

David Stein

Rudest, most arrogant, snotty, irritable doctors I have ever met, anywhere, and that includes the NHS in Britain. The worst offenders tend to be recent arrivals from the United States (why are they here????) and small towns in Ontario.

Anna G

my family dr is on maternity leave; covering for her is her husband who i've never met. instead of re-filling my prescription at the walk in, the walk-in dr yelled at me about how lucky i am to have a family dr and that he doesn't want to refill my existing prescription because its too much risk to him (he did not ask about side effects, no questions at all, and he was the same one to prescribe it to me 3 months ago). instead, i have to take time off work to see a dr. ive never met that is apparently my family dr now. he was very rude and aggressive. the front staff is also rude.

Yas I m

Dr Hanan is amazing she really does what she needs to do to support you in all aspects of life mental and physical I really appreciate her ❤

Nenad V

Wish I could give it zero. Do not go here unless you have a simple issue and don't mind the less pleasant staff and indifferent doctors. Otherwise it's a waste of your time. I was on my way to walk-in clinic on Danforth that I've been to before only to find out it was now a foot store. I checked the nearby walk-in clinics and this one was closest. I was a bit scared of the low rating it has, but I figured since I was already less than 5 min away to try it out. Got in around 11am and it was almost empty with only a few people in front. The wait time was less than 5 minutes and unfortunately that was the only positive thing about my experience here. I was greeted by a less pleasant front office person who had a snarky comment on my question, but forgot the reason for my visit 2 seconds after I told her. Anyway, that out of the way, I was brought to one of the rooms. I briefly told the issue to the doctor expecting him to ask me more questions, but aside from 1-2 questions he never did. I also expected more examination, but it ended up being 3 simple tests (temperature and 2 more) and then he ordered the urine test. I was surprised that he deemed no blood work necessary, but I was also surprised that there was no physical examination of the area of interest. I believe I was inside for less than 2 minutes. I would understand if the clinic was busy, but there was hardly anyone there. And there was another doctor for walk-in patients. I also did not come for common cold, but a more serious condition which I believe warrants more attention. I am not sure if they will call me or not with results and I am not sure if I will wait (as I'd rather not go back here). I am also not sure if I gained anything by going to this clinic.

Marina Pecoroni

It’s a good clinic with good doctors but since covid started it’s just impossible to call and get someone to answer the phone. Tried at least 10 times in the past few days. Unfortunately their service has been pretty bad.

Israa Alshimary

The services here are alright, however, it is very difficult to reach the specialists offices over the phone to book an appointment. The receptionists don’t even speak to me before placing on hold, sometimes I wait for a very long time before someone picks up and usually not a very pleasant experience over the phone.

Jenoulla V

Worst clinic , nobody is answering calls U can’t even leave a message. They keep transferring ur calls and waited for ages , until u get fed up waiting . Go to another clinic avoid this place .

Chris Mitchele

Looked like a good start with the ability to get a virtual appointment. Called at 9am to make an appointment, quick callback at 9:15 for them to confirm some information. Expected call between 11am and 1pm. At 3pm having not received a call we called them. They said they had called us at 11:30 but our call logs did not show a call. No problem, they would call us back in the next hour. At 3:45 they called to say that they would not have time to have a doctor call us today. We explained the urgency of our situation but they could not help. Will call is tomorrow. Completely mismanaged. If it were my business I would find a way to make it right. Unfortunately, this confirms that things have not changed at the Albany clinic. Avoid if possible or if there are other options.

Gertrude MacGregor

Would give 0 stars if I could. I've been in and out of hospitals and clinics my whole life, and this is BY FAR the most unprofessional, uneducated, callous, impatient, and all around rudest clinic I have been to. My partner went for a surgery here, and the RN helping (Pat) didn't even wash her hands, and was incredibly rude to the both of us. He was provided with no aftercare or advice on the healing process, and when he asked if he could sleep on the side of his head that he got surgery on (a very valid question imo) she looked at him like he was a total idiot. They failed to explain anything about the procedure and the aftermath; I have recieved better medical care at a dentist office. The nursing staff is incredibly rude and unprofessional: I have gone here to get blood taken and had the nurse try at least 8 times to find a vein. DO NOT GO HERE. There is a walk in clinic and family practitioner office a few blocks north east, affiliated with Toronto East General, the Toronto East General Clinic directly across the street from the hospital. Save yourself the stress and go there first. Am extremely unsurprised that all the other reviews were just as negative; please listen to these reviews and go somewhere else. 0 Stars.

grace

I was completely shocked at the complete lack of professionalism, knowledge, and basic sanitary procedures here. My partner recently had a surgery performed here, and Dr. Hiraki's assistant for the procedure, Pam the RN, DID NOT WASH HER HANDS A SINGLE TIME. My mom is a charge nurse at Sick Kids Hospital, and said that that behaviour is COMPLETELY unacceptable at any real hospital, and ANY professional RN should know better. It was completely disgusting. As well, Pat put a super sticky, coverplast bandage over his stiches, not gauze, not steri strips, not even medical tape. That was SUCH an amateur move - I have gotten stitches at least 5 times in my life and have NEVER seen them covered with a bandaid. My mom has given hundreds of stitches and seen hundreds more done, and has NEVER seen anyone use a bandaid - this makes the risk of stitches getting ripped out extremely high when taking off the bandaid, especially when using such sticky ones as coverplast. I could have gotten better medical care from the nursing station at an elementary school. Was completely shocked at outraged at the lack of hygeine, I mean, HOW can you perform a surgery and not even wash your hands? That is disgusting, not to mention not even knowing how to properly bandage sutures. I would expect this level of care from a 3rd world hospital, NOT in Canada. DISGUSTING. DO NOT GO HERE - YOU WILL GET AN INFECTION. ESPECIALLY IF YOU GET PAT THE RN. THE WORST NURSE I HAVE EVER SEEN.

David Cowan

Having a family doctor here is fine, but it takes about 30 to 45 minutes to get through to reception to make an appointment, which is about what you wait for a walk-in clinic. You should just go somewhere better until they hire enough staff to answer their incoming calls. The budget cuts hurt the clinic hard, and it's pretty sad. I've been going here for 18 years, and they've got some great staff and doctors, just not enough. I should also mention they are well equipped -- they have lab and stuff in the building so you can get everything done, even tests, xrays, and ultrasound, and heart tests there. They also have an online booking thing now so it's a lot easier that way, but getting through on phone is still difficult as of May 2021.

Danna

They do not pick up their phone at all.

Itzia Noriega

Was a long wait, but the ladies in the front desk were so kind with me. The doctor was also nice and professional.

Jacqueline Chesher

I've been coming to this clinic for over a decade. It has gone downhill in the past several years. There is a lack of communication between departments. Reception is terrible. They will transfer your call and nobody will pick up and they just keep you on hold. This is a regular occurance. Wait times for getting through are long. The only convenience is having the ability to do blood work and ultrasounds in the same clinic. If you are a new patient considering this clinic, I would recommend going elsewhere.

Tez

Arrogant receptionist threatening to make me pay $70 for a cancelled appointment. Their hours are extremely limited to where you will have to take time off work to have the “PRIVILEGE” of seeing their doctors for 5 minutes. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Best objective doctors that will actually do their best to keep you healthy are in the U.S.

Anchal Gupta

Rude admin staff... I had been calling them from 3 days for getting a follow up appointment with a particular doctor. Each day they will have a reason for doctor not being available. That's not it, one of the staff who gave me a call back on Tue told me that the doctor will be available the next day and hence I called on Wednesday, this time when I asked for phone appointment, they again quoted doc's unavailability. I mentioned that i was told that the doctor will be available today, so the staff member on call said that doctors are also human beings you know. I mean what did I say to offend her! I simply asked.

Lucia K

Excellent, exceptional experience - all of it. The 2 woman at reception were so friendly and compassionate. My wait (on a Monday morning) was shorter than at my family doctor's - with an appointment! And I have complete confidence in the doctor I saw and the advice she gave me.

Marsha Katsopolis

This review isn't directed at the staff working the at the labs, dentistry or reception areas of the Albany Clinic but one doctor in particular who works there. I had Dr. Hsiao-Ming Jung as a doctor for a year and a few months but I have decided to stop going to her because she just doesn't seem to care about her patients and cares more about her own time. She won't address anything except what you are there for, and any more issues you'd like to speak about has to be scheduled for another appointment. Be ready to bring a short list of what you'd like to address or she'll be pushing you out of her office before you know it. The bottom line is that she will make you feel rushed during your appointment and make you feel like cattle. I would like to add that over the past year, she has randomly cancelled three appointments and I have sometimes found out on the day of. Wouldn't recommend her as a long term doctor and only one to prescribe a quick drug or two.

Brooke Lynne

I really don't like being asked why I am there to see a Dr ( in the walk in ), once the receptionist with pink hair explained it to me, it makes sense. There are a few things that they don't take care of, such as drivers medicals, physicals, no narcotics or controlled substances, among a few other things. The staff are usually pretty helpful, the walk in can be really busy at times, but they try to get it to ebb and flow nicely. Overall, I can't complain too much.

Celena Liu

I called the clinic and an incrediblely rude and uninformative woman answered the phone and was impatient and not helpful at all and hung up on me quickly after just telling me to look at the website. What is the point of hiring useless receptionists if they don’t want to do their job? And im definitely not coming here ever again.

CurdyGirl Irl

I love my Dr, but the reception team needs work. They are not honest when they claim they tried to contact you, when there is zero evidence that they did. They play a good game of pass the buck, transferring you repeatedly to "the right person" and eventually hang up on you. Good luck getting appointments, you may wait a week for one, and then send you an email to cancel, and you'll have to wait another week. I'd be surprised if the appointment actually gets booked. Very upsetting and frustrating experience.

Amanda P

Been coming here for 12 years. My family doctor is great and when he's fully booked for a while I just see someone else and always had a good experience. I've also been referred to a dermatologist in the same building and shes also really great. Ive surprisingly never had a rude receptionist despite all the reviews ????

Tim Twinbrooks

The staff at the walk in clinic seems get the lowest pay of the country. They have no manners at all. I think that they don't qualify for the good and higher pay medical receptionists like those in other medical clinics.

Lauren C

I was referred to this clinic to see a specialist. Since covid is happening I was advised to call and have a consultation before going in person. I’ve called during working hours (12pm-3pm ish) but whoever is working there just hangs up immediately. I can hear the call being picked up and slammed back down (like a click). This is also true for a lot of the other reviewers. I will try again but at this point I might just look elsewhere.

Michael Krezel

Today, it was impossible to get an appointment with my doctor over the phone. I have tried twice, and waited half an hour each time for the operator. I couldn't tried the 3rd time, as I am busy in my office. This is totally unacceptable!. The Albany Clinic needs to expand their Calling Center or pick up those calls. In addition, they frequently play loud commercial advertisements with the waiting message. Again, this is not acceptable to sick and stressed out people, who try to get an appointment with the doctor.

Elizabeth N

Most reviews are regarding the walk-in, but they seem to hire great family doctors. I absolutely love my family doctor. I am also happy they are now using online appointment booking. Their additional services are quick and since everything is central, operations run smoothly. Overall, I am very happy with my family doctor and the other services they provide.

Ouarme Habibata

I waited there more than three hours and they didn’t tell me that the doctor is not there. They treat you like a number. Incapable to tell you which doctor you saw last time even if they have your test results in front of them.

Aorwa Katlabi

If you are late to your appointment, expect to get a nasty message form the doctor, even if you called ahead and said that you might be late because of traffic. Also prepare your self for a long waiting. You will never see the doctor on time, you could wait for an hour before you see the doctor and for sure no one will say sorry for the delay. Miss your appointment and you will get a bill in your mail, but if they are late, then it is legitimate This is not just about this clinic it is,about the whole stupid health system

Doris

I have been visiting the Albany clinic for about 20 years, both at their old location on Danforth, and their current location on Broadview. Each appointment has been professional. Test results have been accurate, and promptly delivered to my doctor. She has had no complaints about their quality. As a bonus, they are very prompt; no 1-2 hr wait for your scheduled appointment. Its a sad commentary on the state of the medical profession, that I am so pleased by the mere fact I can have my tests done at the time they were scheduled for. I am genuinely puzzled by the negative reviews, as I have literally never had an issue. Perhaps the walk-in clinic is different, as I have never used it.

Abdul Mohammed

It's a hub, you get to see your doctor, diagnostics tests, physiotherapist everything they have at one place.

Hailey Azzopardi

Quite upset following a visit I had here. I visited with symptoms of Strep Throat where I was tested and provided with a prescription for antibiotics. The only thing that made my hour and a half wait time at the clinic was the Doctor I had seen that day. In regards to my follow up - i was not contacted about the results of my test. I decided to phone the office to ask what was happening. The office claimed the doctor probably hadn't looked at them yet and he would get back to me. Well I never heard from them again until 2 weeks later where I received a letter through mail that the doctor is requesting I return for my results when I feel better in terms of my symptoms. Wouldn't it have made sense when I phoned to confirm my phone number when I asked for the results..... No instead they send me a letter saying they cannot reach me. I then tried phoning the clinic to ask if it was necessary to come back or if I can just move on because I am feeling better. Well - I waited on hold for about 20 minutes with NO answer. I will not be visiting this clinic ever again. Extremely disappointed in the healthcare from this office. Such a waste of time.

They just wasted my time and money. They tell you on the website that you have to have a health card. The very first thing they asked for when I arrived was my health card. Immediately she said that they don’t take health insurance and that I’d be charged between $45-$145 for my visit.

Doctors are good. The walk in clinic is decent, have never waited more than an hour. However I have seriously considered firing them because the support staff is HORRIBLE. Incompetent, sometimes rude. Some departments have their voice mail pick up after 2 rings and they never return your call.

I have been coming here for the last 40 years. Very happy with the doctors and staff here. If you are lucky to get a family doctor here I would highly recommend!

Convenient location, great doctors, all tests done on site. Could use improvement on the reception/secretary level, empathy and services.

Good clinic with every service all in one place. Wait times are generally nil to very reasonable for specialists, and I have seen a few. Staff are usually professional and pleasant for the most part. My own family doctor is ALWAYs on time and generally I can get in to see fairly quickly. Walk in Clinic is of course, much slower. That is to be expected. X-ray / US clinic wait time and staff also great. Where Albany Clinic fails is the Lab. There are some nice apples in that barrel for sure but generally it is poor. Too long to go into all of the reasons why but after 8 years coming here, seeing just about every area from walk in, family doctors, specialists, nurses, even the admin offices to pay for a non-covered injection, they are all consistently good to great - but the Lab is always consistently marginal to extremely poor. But I am pretty sure that the Lab is a for-profit out-sourced company (??Life labs??). I think that everything else is "Albany" and the Lab is a contractor renting space in that building.

The doctors don't care about patients with mental health issues. 99% of them shrug it off and just prescribe you medication you can't afford. Ive been here more than once for anxiety related issues and every time I've walked out feeling even worse than when I walked in because I feel like nobody cares to help me. They just wanna get people in and out. Also, I've never spent longer than 5 minutes with a doctor (after waiting over an hour to see them) because instead of LISTENING, they decide which medication to put you on. I can't take anti anxiety medication, so that's a HUGE problem. Also, when I said I can't take medication because Of the side effects they never gave me any other help. Instead, they said "just go to camH". Been here a few times because it's super close and convienent. But I'll travel for better care. If you truly want to get better, DO NOT go to Albany clinic.

Dr Tao Allan is a kind and caring doctor who listens before jumping to conclusions, however I can't say good things about most of the staff here. As many reviewers have mentioned, the reception is often rude, unhelpful, or incompetent. Most times I call to book an appointment I expect 10-30 minutes of waiting, if I don't get hung up on first. Dr Connie Wong and Dr Gill should not be anywhere near psychiatry or psychology and I'm so grateful I stopped seeing them in favor of doctors who actually listen to their patients concerns before giving advice. Dr Wong gave me some horrible life advice (to just break up with my partner, when it was obvious I was the problem) instead of proper therapy. Dr Gill refused to listen to my concerns if they didn't fall under his questionnaire which lacked the nuance required to treat my problems. I feel like a good psych should be open to keeping up with modern mental health research, however most of them are stuck working with outdated information from outdated manuals in a field that is constantly evolving. Bonus negative points to Dr Gill who refused to book me an appointment for March unless I got a COVID-negative test in January, a test with results that are only relevant for 2 weeks. How can anyone be expected to trust such an illogical person with their health? The physio department was also mostly unhelpful (kind, but unhelpful when it came to reassessing their misdiagnosed treatments), but I guess get what you pay for when the appointments are only $50. The only silver lining I have from this clinic is that it taught me to be more discerning with who I trust with my health. I am doing a lot better now that I've found better doctors.

I waited OVER TWO HOURS on hold to book an appointment, after requesting THREE call backs that were never returned, and they disconnected me when I was finally first in line. I had to listen to the same messages replay every 30 seconds, along with the worst little five bars of adult contemporary jazz I have ever heard, and I didn’t even get an appointment. ALL I NEED IS A BASIC PRESCRIPTION RENEWAL! The staff has always been rude and abrasive at this clinic, but this goes beyond incompetence. If anyone should be seeing a doctor, it’s the receptionists who can’t even function capably enough to operate a telephone.

You cannot see a doctor 2 years into a pandemic. Its pathetic. All the doctors will definitely see a surge in patients because of the NEGLECT that i and several of my family members are experiencing. Dr.Olsheskis secretaries have to be theeeee worst. Ever. Including the walk in desk minders. I call them that because they are so cold. They shouldnt have human beings working in the health care industry and not be willing to take the extra measures needed when dealing with sick and injured people. Im apalled at the service in this clinic since the start of this B.S

I was referred to this clinic by one of my colleagues very very last minute and decided to give it a try. I needed to get a last minute mmr booster for my measles immunity, when my other walk in clinic in my area had closed that day. I booked an appointment, and someone had reached out to me just after 11:30 that day. They were slightly booked but managed to squeeze me in last minute. Once I was there, I didn’t have to wait for too long. Once I was called in I was out within 10 minutes. It’s also very spacious and social distancing measures was definitely met. Staff themselves were very pleasant and kind.

Today I saw Dr. Jessamy. I have been diagnosed with shingles. I asked her if I should be concerned that I touched the site and then may have touched my eyes. I asked her point blank if shingles can be spread and she unequivocally said no. As I have had cold sores in the past I know how contagious they are so I looked online. Apparently they are contagious and if this is actually the case one should absolutely take care whenever you touch the site. If I could give less than one star I would do so. Also I believe the root cause of the shingles is the stress I have felt having to use crutches for almost a month. On September 21st I went to the Albany Clinic for a badly sprained ankle. When I asked Dr. Ivanov how long I should stay off my foot she said, “Well it’s not broken. You can stand on it now.” I absolutely know that this was terrible advice, within the next two weeks I fell down yet again, injurying my foot even more. Every person that I have talked to with a badly sprained ankle was advised to stay off the ankle for a period of time. I am certain that if I had allowed my ankle to rest and heal I wouldn’t still be dealing with this injury a month late. The stress of dealing with crutches and crawling up and down stairs has resulted in the shingles. These doctors are at best sloppy in their communication skills and at worst incompetent.

1.The walk-in receptionist (white lady in her 50s) is crazy. She is too hyper, she is too loud, she is too annoying. 2.I called them the other week and asked if they had any available family physicians. (since i don't have one). She offered one doctor. I asked her to spell his name for me (i just wanted to see reviews online). She started to spell, then in the middle of it, she goes "Actually can I have your name and phone number? We will call you." NO ONE EVER CALLED. 3.Very unfriendly environment. It seems like they all get minimum wage while working 80 hours a week.

I have been to this clinic a few times and I find the wait is not bad for a walk in clinic. The doctors are great and the staff are organized and friendly.

I went to DR GILL in PHYCHIATRY for a family member. DO NOT GO TO HIM. I had medical records from previous diagnosis of the patient from two doctors but he totally disregarded them. The patient was on medication and was not showing any signs due to that, so I suggested that give me a follow up appointment, we will stop the medication so that you can diagnose more precisely to which he replied... I DONT DO FOLLOW UPS.... WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!!! Worse, now the patient thinks he don't have any problems, so he stopped the medication, and is also not ready to see a psychiatrist again in the future, and thinks the family is trying to prove him to be a psychiatric patient, making my life way more difficult than it was before we saw this quack. I wish I could give him -5* DONT GO TO HIM, FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR! DR GILL WHO GAVE YOU THAT DEGREE!!!

The phone answering service at the Albany Clinic, Toronto is atrocious, and I suggest worse than that of a third world country, much worse. I waited in the queue for one hour before deciding to push 1 for a call back which didn't happen until the after hour staff, whom I found was calling from Vancouver, returned the call. The after hour answering service then advised me to call back as their walk in clinic was open until 8:00 PM. I called again and was shortly reconnected to their after hour answering service.. again. I gave up on further attempts for the day. I attempted calling the Albany Clinic the following day with similar results. I then called the Clinic once again and asked to speak to my family doctor's receptionist and was again placed in her queue with three ahead of me. I waited online for another hour with the queue remaining at three for the duration. I finally gave up on that idea. I called back and asked for the walk in clinic doctor. He finally called me back four hours later, just before quitting time and was able to help. My suggestion, to stay away from the Albany Clinic at all costs as they don't consider themselves essential to your health. The family doctors who work there aren't the problem, but contacting the clinic sure is an issue. Medical service here in Ontario is badly broken and as mentioned, I feel you would expect to receive better service in a third world country than from the Albany Clinic, Toronto.

Registered at 4:06pm it's now 5:31pm. Still waiting. I have now left without seeing a dr. A family who had no status rushed the dr. And got medical attention. This is not a busy clinic. It's a totally missed managed clinic. My family dr. Is attached to this clinic and she's great however DO NOT GO TO THE WALK IN.This clinic needs new management and new workers. Not one soul told the people waiting any status updates.Extremely unprofessional. If you ask, your told your still waiting. Change of shifts acting busy. It's a true shame and really unacceptable. 3rd world treatment actually worse. I'd still be waiting if I didn't leave.

Waited 30 mins to book a “Dr. call” at 8am. Got called from admin staff 20 mins before Dr call at 1010am to say he was going to call. Dr. called, got physical appointment. Not too bad. It was organized.

When I called on 11/20, "Emily" told me the Drs won't (not can't) do stitches, only remove them... apparently they're refusal is because they don't get paid enough to do it.

Family doctors are very knowledgeable and kind. There is no wait time for scheduled appointments-I have also been seen at the scheduled time. Doctors are fantastic with kids. Family doctor receptionists are very compassionate in emergency situations and do their best to help you out. Signage for the blood work clinic could be clearer-it is confusing for first time users. Wait times in the walk in are long but its to be expected. The walk in receptionist needs more support during peak times as they can get incredibly busy.

Can never seem to book an appointment with my doctor here. And one of his secretary was not helpful, unprofessional and rude. Called in July and was told the only opening is late October.. crazy right? Definitely looking for a new family doctor..
