Beautiful!

Des Grenfell

Amazing. Simply amazing

MJ

Highly recommend going canoeing. It's an incredible experience and worth the price. Staff there were a bunch of young people from all over the place. Very friendly and outgoing. Lake Louise is breathtakingly beautiful in person.

Melvyn Joseph

Heaven in Alberta whether it be the winter or summer. We love ice skating on the lake and canoeing at any chance we get during the year!

D Kourt

Just as ugly as the pictures make it look

Emma Richardson

Beautiful! Jaw dropping scenery. The only suggestion I will give is if you are planning on driving there yourself I would go right away in the morning. The parking lot was full at 810 and it opens at 8am. And it gets more crowded as the day goes on.

florence ragrag

it's extremely busy, however it's also really pretty. We liked Lake Moraine better, however you have to go to Lake Louise just for the experience.

TravelAddict

Spectacular as always i cannot get enough of this place. Amazing breathtaking scenery. I always enjoy it here.

Shirleen Iskandar

Lake Louise is a world famous turquoise lake, and a must visit place in Banff National Park. Summer is absolutely the best season to explore this magical place.

Sadaf

Beautiful. Lots to do. But you must be there early especially if you want good photos and less crowds. I prefer weekdays - especially Monday in the summer months. Photographers - early is a must - I say 6 am for good photos (Afternoon - sunlight makes it tricky for people photos or landscape photos/ the evening will attract lots of people - hard to get space close to the banks of the lake). Lots of hiking, kayak (rent: 135 or bring yours / foldable kayaks can be handy), swim, sit by the banks. Bring a portable charger, good hiking shoes, pants recommended if you must hike due to bugs. Pro tip: Parking could be challenging depending when you arrive and day of the week. To get good parking next to the lake be there at 6 am minimum. Otherwise you will have to pay for a "park & drive". You drive there, park your vehicle and take a bus with other folks to the lake. Take note of bus schedule - you don't want to be stranded after a long day. There is a bus from Lake Louise to Moraine Lake and Moraine Lake back to "park & drive". Just plan your day and start early - it is worth it.

Taylor Campbell

A spectacular scenery always that draws thousands upon thousands of visitors every year. If you enjoy ice hockey, skiing, hiking etc then your visit to the lake in winter will be worth while. The frozen lake provides all the necessary conditions to make that possible. For summer visitors you can enjoy kayaking, fishing, or just feeding your eyes with the wonders of nature that is Lake Louise and the ever imposing giant Rockies. I mean what else could beat that?

Firoz Ozman

There was a crowd of people... we barely found a parking spot, but nevertheless the lake is amazing and worth visiting.

Anthony Panicker

The lake is very bright blue, but the tourists are something else! First of all we came in the entrance and got motioned into a side lot by the traffic director, there were NO spots left when we came back, we were greeted by a loud, insulting HAHA from the girl directing the traffic. Then we went into a different lot and were just pulling into a spot when - HONK, a tourist from BC almost backed right into us and took the spot - he should have pulled into it instead of going past and then deciding he wanted it after all! The lake was swarming with tourists all over walking all over the trail making it hard to pass slow people.

Sapir Atiya

Make sure to go in the Winter if you get the chance. Imagine, skating on the lake, and also simply walk right in the middle on the ice. An amazing place for a full day of cross country skiing, in a hip happening environment. Lake Morraine nearby is also geared for cross country skiing, since the road is closed part of the way to the lake during winter. Main road becomes ski trail!

Rey Cardoza

Great experience in the winter. You can go skating on Lake Louise if you choose to. You can also ski across Lake Louise or use snow shoes. It's definitely an attraction to visit in the winter and take lots of photographs. Usually there is an ice sculpture show each year and its beautiful during the day but even better at night with the lights. There are lots of shuttle buses to take you from Lake Louise to the overflow parking lots and Samson's Mall. Enjoyed every minute there and would definitely recommend anyone to visit.

Péter Lukács

Beautiful lake, lots of places to go hiking. definitely worth the visit. you have to see this place at least one in your life. very peaceful and calming and as you can see in the pictures it's magnificent.. words cant describe

J. Shaw Renner

Not just a wonderful looking lake but there’s also some good exercise walking around hiking

Em von Euw

Smoking stunning snowing views!!! The third time back here in 7 years. First time sunny, second time foggy, this time snowy, it is the best out of best, always! Peace

Miguel H

Park in the all day parking space in the Lake Louise village and take the shuttle, unless you are going really really early or really really late, I'd recommend going by the shuttle service. Drove all the way up and parking was already full, parking at the overflow was already full, so we just got redirected around and wasted a while hour just driving around finding parking. Shuttle from Lake Louise Village to the overflow is pretty fast and about half hour wait from overflow to actual Lake Louise. Visitors information and the drivers are all awesome. Worth the wait once you get to the place, but it will be crowded so be prepared. If you are cutting it close to the afternoon, 330-430, definitely line up for the shuttle back! Line up gets long in no time. If you are hiking though, I heard it's only about 25 mins long?

Henry Xu

Visited beginning of Dec. The lake is frozen over. Not much of a view left.

Ogo Ekurume

I went there two times and it is splendid! But the two times there was too much people. If you see the sign on the highway that the parking is full and request you to use the overflow parking with free shuttle, make you have enough time and that you are patient! During a Sunday this summer it took us 150 minutes to actually be in front of the lake just 15 minutes. Out of that it was all waiting bus to come and then leave. The shuttle stop at 5pm during the weekend. Finally I prefer Maligne Lake on Jasper side.

Tins Augustine

Beautiful winter views as well as in summer. Going later in winter months after the ice is more solid will allow skating.

Dipumaza- Google Trusted Photography

This lake has breathtaking views. Definitely on of the greatest lakes out there.

Amanda Garry

Iconic place that's a must see! Putting all the tourists aside, it's astoudihly beautiful. The walk around it just the right distance, but you can go further if you want. No matter that angle you're at, the view never gets boring. Walkway is not challenging at all - highly recommend. One thing to bare in mind is that the car park is likely to be full, so get the 'park and ride bus in, takes 10 mins and and they run every 10-15 mins, free!

Genn Griffith

Man it was like heaven on earth.

One of the most beautiful places I've ever been.

Sarah S

A cozy beautiful lake surround Ed with mountain, big enough parking for vehicls

shanay penner

Phenomenal!! No words can describe the feeling you get once you stand there!! December 18, 2014 was my first visit!! No pictures can do justice!! They were in the middle of building an igloo, it was beautiful! Such a beautiful experience during the winter, you can walk along the frozen lakeshore, join your guide for a bit of snowshoeing, rent some ice skates or bring your own and skate on the lake, or take a horse drawn sleigh ride across the lake and back!! Or if you prefer to look at the magnificence of the Victoria Glacier from the comfort of a warm chair, why not enjoy some lunch or tea inside the Chateau Lake Louise. Such a gorgeous place, just stunning. Cant get enough. Summer scenes are just as magnificent!!

Paul Choquette

Beautiful place. Oh my goodness, awesome.

David Lobree

The lake is beautiful! The water changes colour through out the day depending on the sun. I had such a good time there. There is an area for canoeing as well. I believe it was $100 for up to 3 people per canoe. Although it was quite pricey compared to others, it was totally worth it because the view was stunning! I loved it!

The hamlet of Lake Louise really is a hamlet, with a full-time resident population of less than 1000. Many times that number visit it annually, and at all times of the year. Lake Louise, was named after the Princess Louise Caroline Alberta, a daughter of Queen Victoria, and the wife of a governor of Canada. Behind the lake, and frequently lost in the clouds, is Mt. Victoria. The area is recognizable by the iconic views, the crowds, and the huge luxury hotel, the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. We did not have parking issues, but that can easily happen. After you check out the hotel and take those pics of the majestic lake, there is a trail that leaves the lakeside area of the hotel to the right and goes back into the forest. It goes out to the Plain of Six Glaciers and a small teahouse up in the hills. It’s about 1 mile of easy walking and then last 2 miles was too rugged for our group. But even just a short way out gets one away from the hustle to make enjoying the lake much nicer. Canoes are available to rent if you prefer to cross the lake instead. You can also easily find the outlet to the lake called Louise Creek. Its a milky green fast flowing stream. There are some walkways across it and several are great for straight line views looking across the lake and at Mt. Victoria. The parking was free. The restrooms are busy but nicely done and in good working order. We did enjoy looking around inside the hotel, but it requires a chunk of change to stay there.

Katherine Phan

It's a beautiful lake that's great for taking pictures. If you're coming as a group, I suggest renting a car as public transit is a bit unreliable (not because it isn't regular but because there's usually a crowd for those going back to Banff or the park and you may have to stand in line for up to an hour to get a sit on the bus). It's a place you only visit once though unless you're a photographer, then you'll come here a lot (most likely with different people).

Glenn Thomas

Incredible venue with beauty unmatched!

giang xo

Beautiful! This place is always beautiful no matter what time of the year. You can go on a boat in the summer and walk on the lake in the winter.

The Greatest Airplanes

September 24, 2021. I thought it will be hazy because of the BC wildfires but thankfully it rained the previous day. It’s clear, cold and windy but I don’t mind because I’m enjoying the views. Bring jacket or extra clothes even better with gloves. We came in about 7’ish AM. There’s still a lot of parking stalls available. When we left around 8:30’ish the parking is almost full. This tick off one of the bucket list but will go back to kayak/canoe to see the other side ????

Katy Darhel

It can't get better than this. One of the best scenic views I have seen live. Until now I have seen these views only on my laptop wallpapers. Must go place before you die. Add it to your bucket list folks and go as soon as you can.

Louie Doulias

Lovely place to visit ☀️????

Royce Thompson

Come here hundreds times.

Chica Hassan Galaura

Words are not enough to describe how beautiful this place is in real life!!

Haley Dugger

This place is so stunning, it's a must-see in person. The lake is more vivid when the sun is not so high. It is world-famous, one of the landmarks of Banff.

Shawn DeWolfe

One of the best place i’ve ever been! A must visit place when you’re in Alberta.♥️♥️♥️

Ramon M

We went early since the parking are gets full quickly..reached around 7 am after visiting lake Moraine

Noam Yodla

There was quite a crowd at Lake Louise the day we were there. We had to wait for a parking space, but it sure was worth waiting for. It was amazing and the Fairmont Chateau Hotel was beautiful. We went in the gift shop and bought some t-shirts.

MANISH ASRANI

It's just awesome. A must see place in Banff.

Hanneke Nieuwenhuis

We was here couple times( on this picture is april ).

Adam Frank (frankyfreeride)

This is a very nice lake. I was there for a week and i really enjoyed it. Every time it had this wonderful color. You can walk along the side of the lake and you can also go with a boat (Kajak).

Niv Pai

Enchanting lake with nice walk around. Canoes and boats on hire. Parking was a problem when we visited during the weekend.

Terry Pulsifer

Absolutely breathtaking!

Jon Zack

There is no place like lake louise ... it has its beauty though out the seasons whether its summer or winter. There is always a place in my heart that enjoys the serenity and beauty of this location. As a person who is planning to visit canada it's a place everyone should go.

Otto Schroeder

A spectacular place winter, summer, spring or fall.

Andy Saps

Nice place. I love it!

Avinash Krishna Kumar

Gorgeous lake of course. The color is beautiful. There is a nice maintained shoreline trail. There were a few puddles when its raining, but its not bad. No incline. There are canoes for rent.

Reemo

One of the most beautiful lakes I've ever been to. The hike around the lake was also great. During the high seasons, get there early (before 8am) to find a parking spot.

Gerson Pacheco

Love it

Sivan Elkabes

One of the most beautiful place to go and see! Been there with my wife and two friends for hollydays one year ago, and I think this is a magicical place! We can just stay here and look to the nature for hours and hours.

Ben Roberts

Than hearing a hundred times, it's better to see once!

Binoy Shah

Ice skating, hockey, ice bar, fire pits, hiking. Gorgeous views. Can't ask for anything more in winter

Shannon O'Regan

The sight seeing is breathtaking.

Gurmehar Sandhu

A beautiful stop on your drive through the rocky mountains. Definitely a must go to place. Adventurers should try a hike if the trails are open. Just be ready for wild animals.

Brian Gualillo

Relaxing walking trails.

Quy La

Wonderful memories of visiting here with the family on cross country road trips as a kid. Came back here with my dad on motorcycle rides more than once! Beautiful no matter the season. In winter you can slide across the ice! Lovely hiking around the lake and a cute tea house too. Fancy hotel if you can afford it (I cannot)!

Wanderlust Wolf

Breathtaking! Spectacular views, with varying difficulties of walking/hiking trails. No matter where you are in the park, the crisp fresh air, the views, and the …

Jimmy Monreal

Beautiful view...

Angie C

Pretty but crowded, lots of nice places around just less known

Marta Borowska

Lake Louise is a beautiful spot but sadly the best views were obscured due to the BC wildfires - cant really see the two mountains intersecting that well. The front part of the lake is super crowded with tourists so would suggest walking down the 2.5 km lakeshore trail to walk to edge of the lake for some serene and beautiful views (can see Fairmont from there too). Sad part is they added $11.70 per day parking regardless of how long you stay during summer times. Also, the Fairmont hotel can only be visited by those staying which was sad because I heard it was a beautiful building to check out (likely due to covid though). Bathrooms were great though here, although I didn’t see any water fountains from what I remember.

Adetoyese Oyedun

We hiked the Plains of six glaciers, which was great but heavily trafficked. We got to the top, it was crazy windy, get there prepared, layers that you can put on ans remove. There are although other fantastic trails offering amazing views with less people. On our way back, we took the trail to Lake Agnes and descended from there. We stopped at both teahouses, both nice stops, we really enjoyed their soup at the Plains of Six glaciers and the homemade tea at Lake Agnes. The trail from lake Agnes wasnt great, its asphalt/ciment...

Slade Sinak

Can never go to Lake Louise enough...

N F

Was there Last week and did Valley of the glacier trail thru Agnes lake. Wonderful trail with tons of view and challenge along the way. Would recommend to anyone. Lots of up and down, not for lazy people.

Denis Bisson

Gorgeous ????

Phil Way

Awesome lowkey walking trail beside the lake. Next time we'll arrive earlier so we can make it to the tea house before 5pm! The turquoise water dazzled despite the light drizzle and mist????

Shawn Monaghan

Incredible site to see. I would arrive early as it is the most popular attraction in the area. You must take the hike up to the agnes tea house, it is strenuous but an amazing experience.

Shristi Rajbhandari

Breathtaking views and a lake so bluey-green it almost looks photoshopped!

Femi Idowu

Couldn’t make it to the lake, because the crowd was so much, and there was no parking. Bad idea to go on a long holiday weekend especially in Covid times. It’s best to stay at the hotel so you can take advantage of all the activities close by. I’ll be visiting again to go canoeing.

Amy Schmidt-Baier

It's also a good time to visit Lake Louise in the winter time. You can skating, skiing, and hiking on the lake. But be careful for the social distance, so week days are the best time to visit.

Cynthia P

The most magical lake I've ever seen in my life. Calm beautiful blue waters with shades of green accompanied by the incredible Rocky Mountains. If there is anything you plan to see in Alberta, Lake Louise is a must.

Alice AbiRaad

Go either in the morning or in sunset. As you will get a proper parking spot. Great place to hike. Some are easy and some are not. I haven’t done full hike as was limited on time. But you can do it easily.

Janna Burford

Beautiful lake, words cannot describe its beauty.. just know the place is very touristy and no matter what is the hour if it’s not super early in the morning or late at night, the place is packed with people.. we didn’t get a chance to hike around but it is a breathtaking view anyway..

Zarihs Zoltan Retoucher

Nice lake, but all I could think of is "unicorn live in Banff."

Elly Liu

Perfect view!

Tish

Everything that is said about the lake is true. A photographers paradise, a hikers dream and a resort of superb accommodation.

Diana Urrutia

Must go

Brian Thompson

Pretty lake to walk around. Hike is easy and takes you to other end. Busiest place I've ever seen. Arrived before 7:30am and barely got a parking spot. Come early if you're there during peak season. You'll want to beat the tour buses. On a side note, the lake isn't really any more jaw dropping than lakes in Jasper.

Diech67

Beautiful..

Viralkumar Mistry

Amazing view of the lake.. Despite the smoke, the view are breathtaking..

bella kim

Beautiful Lake with Stunning view fame for Alberta . . Must Worth Watching

Rita Gaur

Specially in the long weekends, be there early. I mean be there before 6 in the morning.

Xiao Chen

Beautiful place to be even when the lake is frozen. The frozen water fall at end of the lake with different color rack face mountain next to the fall was a breath taking view, not just because you have just hiked 30 minutes on the frozen lake.

Dave Hess

Majestic, paradise, beautiful, the list is endless. Complete the 7 kms walk to the tea house it is adventurous. Once in lifetime experience. Do it with your friends and family. Check out all the falls on the way.

Bishoy Hany

I didn't get to see lake louise because I thought it would be fine to go on a monday in July but I was wrong the parking was full at 1 pm so we were very disappointed. I guess if you want to see this place you have to go very very early or in the winter. They should increase their parking. Best view we got was from the visitor centre.

canucklehead2004

Awesome place to hike and photo ops

MarlaGene

Breath taking views. A very peaceful place

Sohan Sahir

Gorgeous and one of the most beautiful places in the world

Leah Curtis

It should be one of the 7 wonders of the world !! The most beautiful sightseeing I’ve been to by far ! I was in Vancouver and it took me around 7 hours to get there but it deserved every single minute of the ride. ???? Highly recommend ???????? الشباب اللي في فانكوفر .. لا يفوتكم المكان

Lake Louise is the most beautiful place in the world

Daniel Pogue

Hate to say it but it was BY FAR my least favorite place on a 2 week vacation in the Canadian Rockies. Sure the lake is beautiful but it was honestly busier than a city street. I personally don't go to parks to be shoulder to shoulder with 1000's of other people. Parking is a nightmare and it only gets worse once you leave the car. Gourgous lake, but I couldn't appreciate it through the crowds. I suppose if you are there very early (like before 7) it might be ok, but otherwise I would advise nature lovers to look elsewhere.

Zoey Smith

Beautiful, come here early morning

Catalin T

Beautiful lake — and there were so many activities to be done!!! We did the quick Fairview hike to get a GORGEOUS top down view of the lake, and man, was it ever blue. ???????????? We also kayaked, which was a whole load of fun (even in the slight rain). There were also hikes like Lake Agnes & Plain of Six Glaciers that we wish we could’ve done & will definitely do so next time (I mean, they end with TEAHOUSES!!).

JY L

Beautiful lake and hikes, just crazy busy!

Zhang YuYang

Lake Louise in 2017! Just Beautiful! There are a lot of trails that you can take from lake Louise! You can spent as many hours as you want or days! There are a lot of thinks you can do! One ☝️ of them is to hike to the tea ☕️ house ????... it is a easy hike, everyone can do it! To take the boat ????‍♀️ on the lake cost $100 per hour. We did not do that. We were on budget. There is a trail all around the lake! Not to forget the famous hotel that is near lake! Just so beautiful! ????

David C

Great place to hike!

Priya Kaur Kailey

Very cool scenery. Lake was frozen so we could walk out across it. Seen some rock climbers and ice climbers doing their thing.

Danahi Camacho G.

Best winter wonderland vacations ever!

AM Queen

One of the best places I have ever visited!! Amazing views, amazing folks and tons of things to do!!

Samantha PT

Super duper place in entire Alberta, Don’t miss it. We went there with family in evening by car. Paid Parking is available in $11. Washroom facilities are available at the entrance. Awesome clean blue water lake between mountains, just amazing view. We spent there 2 hours & no body want to leave spot until dark. Boating ???? activity is optional but recommended. Clicks are wow on such a location. This sightseeing is the main attraction & memories of our entire Alberta vacation trip.

fisher1b

Lake Louise is beautiful, with the color of the water standing in nice contrast to the mountains. But there seemed to be an excessive number of boats on the water that ruined the vibe, and the entire area felt way too developed. The nearby Moraine Lake is superior.

Dimensional mon

Such a nice place to view the fascinating colour of glacier water. You can go for Kayaking.

Malcolm Lay

Absolutely stunning views in the summer. The water is unbelievably blue and and beautiful.

Dumitru Muraru

Wonderful views, I've been here more than a dozen times during different seasons over the last decade. The view never fails to make you feel something. One downside is that tens of thousands of people come in and out of this location every day in peak season so it's too busy to be a relaxing place to visit. If you'd prefer to have more space to yourself you can come in off season during the winter.

FMC Soccer

A must visit place in Alberta. One of the most wonderful lake surrounded by mountains and beautiful trees. *** Poor parking management by the lake ***

marius hodas

Beautiful place even in winter, could be better if it's sunny.

inspirational_quotes_raeroxy

This small spot on God’s large earth is surely one of the loveliest! In July 2020, the crowd was manageable, parking available, and definitely worth the stop. We hiked along the lake all the way to the enchanting mountain stream running into the stunningly turquoise water. Horse back riding and cliff climbing was also being enjoyed.

Dana Mihut

Oh the amazing, breath taking beauty of nature! Canoeing is costly but worth the adventure.

Jenny

Went in March on a Sunday in the early afternoon. Lake was still frozen, huge skating rink. It was beautiful but it was SO BUSY. We had our two dogs which wasn’t a problem. Too many people.

Pepot Sordan

We spent a morning & evening here and found that Morning / before noon time at Lake Louise is a best time to spend, since sun rises opposite side of these Glaciers so it makes it shine & water looks more Turquoise Green colour if the sky is clear. During evening Glaciers will look grey & water turns to Turquoise Blue. Canoeing in Lake Louise was breathtaking and very refreshing, loved it! Car parking is always full here, but if you can go there early before 8:00 am then you will find a spot easily July 28, 2020

Aarti Jindal

This place is very much crowded in and around the viewing area closest to the bus get off point. Although the view is breathtaking and one in a life time experience.

curtis macgregor

An absolute winter wonderland! Can’t wait to come back again one summer!

Himauli Patel

Lake Louise is the most impressive lake I've seen in Banff and Jasper. No camera able to convey the beauty and grandeur of this lake. Lake Louise is so huge that its panorama simply doesn't fit into the frame. Surrounded by the mountains of Saint Piran, Aberdeen, Fairview glacial lake simply amazes with its turquoise color. The water in the lake has a bright turquoise color due to small particles of quartz and spar that fall into the lake with meltwater from glaciers????️. These small particles reflect light mainly with a long wavelength characteristic of light in the spectrum from green to blue. The color of the water becomes even more turquoise with the climb. Lake Louise, like the village of the same name, is a base camp. There are many hiking routes around the lake, both difficult for the whole day, requiring special training????, to such peaks as Fairview and Devils Thumb, and for average people at 1:30-3:00 hours in one direction to such peaks as Saddle Mountain, Little Beehave, Big Beehave and Lake Agnes. In winter, Lake Louise is covered with ice. The ice melt only by the end of May. Well, in the middle of October it is still not frozen. I spent a total of 3:30 hours on the lake shore and on the hiking trail. I think it makes sense to come here again and overcome some path.

Super amazing place

Christopher Lee

What a beautiful place! We visited June 13, it was pretty busy but from what I hear that is nothing compared to usual! If you aren't into huge tourist areas, this probably isn't for you. But if you don't mind the people it is seriously so beautiful!!!! Please keep in mind, you do have to pay for parking I believe it was $11 for the day (that's in addition to the entrance fee paid to Banff National park) Also, the upper washrooms are closed and currently the lower parking lot washrooms are only available. (But we're very clean and quite large)

Russell Ford

Breathtaking views. The lake shows different colors due to the glacier rock flour. And because of the different wavelengths of light absorbed due to the varying temperatures during the day, the color becomes more and more intense when it gets hotter. This is one of the most unique colors of water I have seen. I have definitely seen photos before, but you have to come in person to truly admire it’s beauty. Another note though, if you have a canoe or a paddle board I would highly recommend that you bring your own, as the canoe was super pricy - 90 dollars an hour!

Saarah Orooj

Heaven on earth

Beautiful place love to visit someday

cleo conol

The most iconic place of Banff. Hiking, canoeing, and Fairmount Chateau :)

Amreen Shafiuddin

One of the most beautiful places in Alberta.

Jack Rondini

Beautiful! Definitely a tourist spot

Thomas Z

OMG this is a great place to visit in the winter when you can walk out on the frozsn lake and are surrounded by beautiful mountains. The glacier is nice yet the bowl the mountains create is spectacular.

Bill Cheung

Lake Louise (named Ho-run-num-nay (Lake of the Little Fishes) by the Stoney Nakota First Nations people) is a glacial lake within Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada. It is located 5 km (3.1 mi) west of the Hamlet of Lake Louise and the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1).

Afrin K

The lake itself is gorgeous but the parking lot is a mess. If you have your own equipment make sure to arrive pretty early otherwise, as much as you see they have free spots they just don’t let people through and make you take the stupid shuttle. There is an option of parking about 20 mins away but then again it makes it impossible to carry a kayak or whatever since it’s a trail. It’s very messy and pretty aggravating to see there are lots of free stalls but they simply don’t reopen the parking lot. The lake itself is very boring since Fairmont closed its shops and restaurant to guests only. Unless you’re in the water or hiking of course. It’s definitely overrated and being destroyed by poor management. More shots & videos at @maluzizz.

Tony K. Noubahar

Great and beautiful place! I’ve been there twice and every time find it very crowded! You can rent Kanu’s (way too expensive for my opinion) or walk around. I liked this place but sadly you can’t spend to much time there if you’re not a big fan of big loud crowd.

Leonardo Montero

It's very busy and parking is at a premium. It's best to go after dinner in the evening. I'd also recommend doing a hike instead of just taking in the view at the base of the lake. For what it's worth I think that Moraine Lake is a much better place to go.

William Anderson

Don't normally see such nice reflection of the Victoria Glacier but it was excellent this morning.

Terry Lynch

This lake is one of the best place I've visited :) The color of the lake is very beautiful and peaceful. I highly recommend this place to visit in Canada

Rebecca Elizabeth

Spectacular turquoise blue water. Dream come true????????????. The view is priceless. ❤️❤️❤️. This place is very busy all year round. Its hard to find a parking but the best time to go is after 5pm. They have canoe for rent. There is a trail to go to lake agnes tea house, a short hike from lake louise.

Kuldip Bhesadadiya

Stunning. A very early start needed to get a parking space and beat the summer crowds. Wrap up as its very cold first thing!

ANN RLT

Such a nice visit! Good place. Doug Schlien

yeshads

It’s amazing. Lake Louise is frozen.

Paulo Valadares

It’s amazing how the seasons affect the lake. In summer, you get the best out of it. Canoeing on the lake is such a wonderful experience. The view of the lake reveals its natural colours. In winter, the lake freezes up and you can walk through the thick ice across the lake. There’s also a skating rink and ice sculptures. This is a perfect place to get away and to reconnect with nature. You will never run out of something fun to do here all year long. However, it can get very crowded. Most of the time, if you walk past by tourists taking picture, you have to constantly stop and wait till they’re finish. Parking can be jam packed at all times in summer, especially on weekends, long weekends, and holidays.

Mississauga Handyman Vic

Just Beautiful! Smaller than I imagined but still just WOW!!

Ryker Bannerholt

Great spot

Beautiful landscape and hikes/walks! So hard to get parking at Lake Louise and Moraine Lake, took us 4 days to get into Moraine. We could not use the shuttle as we wanted to bring our dog. And you can not buy shuttle passes at Moraine, only in the village or at Lake Louise.

Maria Mainart

A beautiful one and as expected over crowded. Getting a parking there is tricky. Don't bother to take photos at the very first point where it's a super mess with the crowd. Have patience, walk around and you'll find many beautiful spots!

Jarvis Palada

Touristy, but absolutely beautiful.

Amit Soni

This place is gorgeous and definitely a must stop when you visit Alberta. Parking can be a problem, long line ups to get canoe.

Gray River Tarot & Healing

The lake and surrounding grounds deserve a 5-star rating. The mismanagement of the attraction deserves a 1 star. The staff are waving people to disregard 4 way stops. When asked questions, they will not answer. The tickets for lake parking lot are available at a nearby mall. This whole experience could be addressed with three sets of traffic lights and two ticket machines. During tourist season it is thick with visitors. Be prepared for a lot of density. It's Canada in a nutshell. Awesome beauty marred by government mishandling.

Callum (Lucid)

Iconic.

Bethany Johnson

How perfect is this place? Just stunning great food helpful staff PERFECT place

Jaspreet Singh

First be careful at what time you are planning to Visit, if in regular hours In suggest you strongly to take the shuttle if not even arrive very early in the morning or late PM. We arrived at around 4 Pm and we were lucky to find a parking spot. We walked around the lake till the other end. A good 30 minutes to get there. There’s lots of long diversified trails but you need to be well equipped mentally, clothes and materials.

Ansara Narine

Prepare to be swarmed by countless number of tourist buses and many tourists at this lake. Try the Lake Agnes trail that takes you away from the noisy tourists if you’re like me. Its a 2.5h hiking trail and guarantees you a good view from above as well. Went during the winter hence there were not much activities to do around the Lake.

Jessica Leigh

Love this gem of the Alberta Rockies! If you want to hike around a beautiful lake... maybe canoe on a lake or just take stunning pictures, come to Lake Louise!

Xion Hu (NoiseGrinder)

Lake louise was an amazing place, however if you want to come you need to come early. For the first experience we come and the parking was full, we ask questions to the employees guiding the traffic and they ignore you, finally we arrive to the shuttle bus and we've been waiting for almost 1 hour because it was full and we need to wait another hour. For the first experience was terrible. ????

Meri J. Joaquin

If you in Banff it's must visit place. One of most iconic lakes in Canada.

HUSSNAIN IMDAD

This emerald lake made me speechless. I think it is one of the most beautiful places on earth!

David Bonte

A great place to visit in any time of the year.

Arcueid

Came here in April when it was still frozen over, so cool to be able to walk across the lake. Looking forward to coming back some day in the summer and paddling!

Angelo Reyes

(Original review) Couldn't even get to the lake. It was ridiculously crowded and there were road closures leading up to it. Also, it seems parking passes are sold nowhere near the actual parking. (Updated review) We eventually got in. It's thick with noisy tourists taking photos (which included us, I guess), but VERY pretty. The water is cold and you can dip your toes in. They have viewfinders that cost $2 and kayaks (or canoes, not sure about the difference) that you can rent.

Charles Heath

Words and photos don't do justice to the epic natural landscape. Just go see it for yourself.

Nelli S

Good kayaking experience.

Serene Lam

Just as awesome as anticipated. Shame to see so so many paddlers in the water.

Nick Leduc

It is the most beautiful lake I’ve ever went in my life. Definitely a lifetime experience to check the natural color of the water when it’s sunny.

Subhro Sarkar

Awesome Place to visit

T O

Amazingly beautiful! ???????????? Sometimes I like to go fishing other times I like just being on the water. Canada is great for both most of the time. Get out and do something on the water, it is good for the soul. Also, Saint Nicklaus is the patron saint of sailors #nice list...????????

Eva Feng Shui

Enjoying unbelievable natural beauty

Baklava Balaclava

Unreal, We went in July of 2021. Sun rise is really good but sunset is even better because you can't really see the sunrise with the trees being by the lake.

Helen T

Absolutely stunning. Breathtakingly beautiful

Jack Griffiths

Love this nature beauty any time of year

Jacqueline Telljohann

Oh boy! what a place to visit! if you would like to have some fresh air to purify your mind come visit lake Louise. Is is most exciting place in Banff National Park. Always try to come in the morning, otherwise parking won’t be available and you have to go back. you can check parking and other info at visitors centre. if parking is full you have option to come by shuttle bus which take only 5-10 mins to go to Lake Louise. Don’t forget to try delicious ice cream at Lake Louise.

Amazing place to visit! If you're in the area I recommend not to skip this lake, it is Amazing, the hotel that's there is also beautiful, I could only see it from the outside but it was beautiful. There are few level of hikes you can go, we took the one that leads to the tea house that you go through Agnes lake also in the way, IT'S NOT EASY!! It took us something like 7 hours to go up and down with a stop in the tea house (it was open when I was there) It was not easy, I'm quite sporty, but I don't do a lot of hikes, but it was hard, the hill is very up, and it's something like 14km for the whole trail. It says this is a easy one, it was not easy in my terms. Take that in consideration if you want to go up to the tea house. It's really worth it, you get to see more than this lake in the long hike, but it's very long and will take most of your day.

Kar G (Kargo)

Lake Louise is not one of, if not THE most renowned lakes in the world, for nothing! It was absolutely stunning when I visited. Arrive early to get parking and to see the beautiful, otherworldly scene of the morning sunlit mountains and glacier reflecting off the mirror still, iridescent blue glacial lake. In the winter, there is sometimes skating on the lake, which is just an incredible and unique experience that cannot be recreated anywhere else!

Lena Mogrovejo

Cant describe❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Jay Nasram

Wonderful place to visit. The lake and the surroundings are stunning. Plenty of things to do while there if you do your homework. I would recommend bus trips to get there in the full season (May-October) as parking can be difficult and all though they are well organized with shuttles available every 15 min it could get frustrating to get there. Waiting times to get the shuttle up to TWO(2) hours at the peak time ( 9am-2pm). It is worth the time and money.

Stanislav Peykov

Have not been in many years and plan to go back some day soon???? Friendly staff and Awsom rooms as well as the rest of this place beautiful Words really cannot express it natural beauty

757 bnb

The best place to visit in Canada. We stayed 5 hours in the place soaking up every little piece of it. It started to snow when we arrived. Snow arrived early this year in 2018. September. Lake Louise certainly put on a show for us. Spectacular and breathtaking.

Ahmed Elshinnawy

STUNNING! Such an amazing place.

GMK IS OK

So beautiful

pooja kamat

Nice place to visit. Very busy even midweek. Plan your travels!

Slav K

Beautiful lake with nice hiking trails nearby. Able to rent canoes there also but pretty expensive 130+

Vidhi Pitroda

Absolutely breathtaking! My friend and I got here for the sunrise and are very happy we did to beat all the crowds. By the time we were done with our hike around noon the parking lot was overflowing and the lake was filled with canoes. We got to experience the lake before the crowds. If I did it again, I’d hike to the far side of Lake Louise (opposite of the parking lot and Fairmont) to watch the sun rise over the lake rather than reflect off the mountains.

Dan Cielos

The time I got there the lake was frozen and had become a ski resort. But the mountain view is still marvelous.

Johnno Page reviews

Its tradition to drop in and enjoy the atmosphere every-time I drive down

Nurmyrat Hapyzov

The crown jewel of the Banff trip. Lake Louise is maybe one of the best known lakes in all of Canada and probably outside of Canada. As you walk up towards the lake - you are struck with the sheer mesmerizing beauty of the lake. With every step taking you closer - the view just gets better. The iconic dominating presence of the luxury Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise flanking the North Eastern end of Lake Louise is often overlooked by visitors (as I finally acknowledged its presence only on my way back). The hike to Lake Mirror, Lake Agnes and the Teahouse is worth the effort.

Mav Mav

Lake Louise is awesome and a must visit if you are in the area. The only issue is that you may need to park at the overflow parking 5km east on the #1 hwy and take a shuttle bus. The parking lot at lake Louise can fill up by 8am on a busy day, so maybe check before you go to see how busy it is, then plan accordingly. My wife and my 5 month old came here, and we used the shuttle bus, along with a mid size stroller (uppababy Cruz). The shuttle had room for it. At Lake Louise itself, we walked around the lake with the stroller to the far end of the lake. This is a must if you come imo. It is easy if you have a decent stroller too and we look forward to walking to the tree house in the future. The only issue is that parts of it were wet. We ate at the chateau as well, and had an amazing lamb hamburger. It was quick and the staff was friendly. This is a Canadian treasure, and there are people from all over the world here. Nice to see.

Karin Hatch

The colour of the lake is superb. A heavenly place

Hemant Saini

Love it!

ice shen

A beautiful experience that you will never forget. This place has my heart ❣

Beautiful!

Karan Judge

Beautiful scenery

Another icon of Banff, probably eclipsed by only Moraine Lake nearby

Garvey Junior

One of my favorite swims! last one to the end and back gets hypothermia

Adam M.A

The pictures will explain it all. The blue lake, the mountains, the reflections of the mountains makes it look like a painting! Simply stunning

Aquil Jaison

We were warned to get here early for parking, so we arrived at 6 am. The park ranger that told us it would be full by 5 am wasn't right since it wasn't even half full when we got there (Saturday in early July). I'm sure it filled up quickly in the next hour because it was a zoo when we left. If you can't get a spot in the main lot, there's an overflow lot 5km down the highway and there are shuttles to Lake Louise. We were told that that fills up by 12 on the weekends but it didn't look full mid afternoon when we left. Unfortunately, out weather wasn't the best. It was incredibly cloudy and foggy when we got there and raining when we finished our hike (and several times during). We didn't let that stop us though. We did a loop to Lake Agnus and the Plain of Six Glaciers (connected via the Highline trail). Lake Agnus was so foggy you couldn't see anything. It cleared up a bit for the Plain of Six Glaciers portion and we got some great views. The hike was around 10 miles long (including the extra part out to Abbot Pass). It was fairly strenuous, but the views were worth it. You could see Lake Louise on your final decent which was awesome. I would highly recommend doing at least the Plain of Six Glaciers hike if not the whole loop.

M H

Lake Louise proper is packed with tourists, even during Covid-19. Most people aren’t wearing masks and it is a free for all. The ice rink was packed later on in the day. I would recommend coming very early, or booking a private tour with a company that can safely show you the back country views. As well, the Chateau is a bit unnecessary. Sure, it’s a beautiful building and makes the lake + glacier look like a Disney movie, but it’s an obvious statement of Wealth in an otherwise natural beauty. The degree to which the National Park pushes the Fairmont while not acknowledging this lands Indigenous history is pretty tacky.

Jun Li

This amazing place , I recommend come early for sunrise.

shikha rattan

This is one of the most beautiful places in the world !!!

Helmer T’naja

Go early or late afternoon to find parking. Very touristy, but a must see. Walk around the shore trail to get away from crowds.

Mashel S

Just Beautiful All year round. You need to be early to catch the rising sun, or bit later for the perfect Sunset.

Manila O.V

Lake Louis charge parking fee now????, If you don’t want to pay $11 parking fee, park your car at park and ride parking lot.

HITESH

It's a cool lake to visit but absolutely teeming with people - the car park is a semi nightmare, we braved it at 3pm and you'll probably get lucky with people who got there at 6am leaving. The hotel has a couple of restaurants you could stop off in, canoe renting is stupidly expensive but this doesn't stop there being at least 50 in the lake at any time. The walk around is pleasant with great views, it's worth trying one day to come here, but there are better lakes and views to be had along the icefield parkway road.

Anthon Lieder

Nature is great, this was a beautiful hike.

Kenneth Dorosky

Such a gorgeous place! The color of the water is so beautiful and added with the views of the mountains! One of the best landmark/tourist spot!

Enaiyat Ghani Ovy

Absolutely beautiful. Parking can be really difficult. Worth every ounce of energy it took to get there.

Wayne Cruz

Beautiful place! Must visit!

Mobeen Khalid

One of the most beautiful place that I have ever seen ???????????? every minutes is worth it

Rishi Bhabutta

Absolutely gorgeous! It's a bucket list kind of a place. The canoeing and hiking is a must do experience!

Jean Robinson

Amazing views and trails, I would suggest that if its raining go,should be able to get a parking spot..took me 3 attempt to visit or be there early 6AM..enjoy.

Brent Burch

This lake is phenomenal. There is so much to learn about it. We took the guided canoe trip from the Fairmont Boathouse and it was worth every penny. We canoed all the way to the end of the lake with our guide sharing a boatload of information along the way. (No pun intended.) We took the trip that was later in the day and the lake was less crowded. Stunning.

Kyle D

This is the most beautiful natural place I have ever been to. It is calming and starring at this place makes you feel serene.

Dawa Lama

Excellent during all seasons especially in summer ! Free parking area and public washrooms available. The track from the parking lot is only 5 mins walk to the side of the fairmont gotel

Saiwan S.

amazing place!

Cheryl Kaufman

Absolutely amazing.

Luis González

Who doesn't love Lake Louise? I am no exception. I love being here at any time. Morning, night; summer, winter.

Reza Asefi

the water is clear. people are nice. good view! ????????????

Anamika Sharma

Great place to paddle, go before 8am to avoid the bigger crowds. Parked at the lower parking lot and pumped up my inflatable kayak right at the dock and launched. Paddled and had lunch for about 2h on the water -1 star for crowds and ~$11 for parking, but that was expected.

Hotdog Bun

It’s really nice place to go there and enjoy your time. In summer and winter in both weather have different look. We went in winter time it was fun.

Mihail Popescu

Great place - well organized, ample parking, food, nature trails. Worthy.

Joshua Rackley

Very beautiful place

Moj Noroozi

A must go if in Banff. One of the most beautiful lakes on earth. And if you are willing go to the Tea House.

Josen Media

Simply breath taking anytime of year. Pay attention to signs before you set off as the trails are a good distance. Also be aware there are no washrooms along the trails.

David Christian

The lake and the surrounding mountain landscape is indescribably beautiful! However, the experience wasn’t so great. We were herded into a parking spot which we had to pay for (on top of national park fees) which turned out to be not a terribly long walk from the lake but I saw plenty of spots that were much closer... otherwise I would have brought my own canoe but I wasn’t up to the hike with the canoe on my back. The canoe rentals were the most ridiculous price, I was in disbelief! $125 for 30 minutes (2 adults and 2 children under 6-years-old max occupancy) and $135 for an hour!!!! If I wanted to enjoy the canoes for half an hour with my family I would have had to pay $375! You can buy a decent canoe for that price on the second hand market. I will be going to less commercial sites in the future. Greed has ruined lake Louise for me.

Chan Yu

Beautiful in winter

Osasu Elaiho

So beautiful. There are plenty of parking for day use which you have to pay. You can visit Louise and go to Moraine lake

Jose Vazquez Diaz

I never vist there but i may want to see those colours of beautifull water and roki mountains

Eloho S. Sido

Beauty abounds at Lake Louise. It was winter and we could walk across the lake. The sky was blue and access to the beauty was wonderful. We saw a person ice climbing on one of the waterfalls.

Ahmed Badri

Canada has the most beautiful places in the world and Lake Louise is one of them...

Tom Jacklin

Heaven on Earth especially if you are staying In Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.. loved every moment of it...the hotel people were saying no Nepalese have ever come here... so sad was feeling low but OMG... saw a picture of TENZING SHERPA hanging in the lounge... this made my day..

Paolo Pizzo

Dont come here to get away from people, its not gonna happen. Tourists run rampant and take photos in the middle of the path and get mad if you intercept their photos (lol) Parking? No. If you park in the town, It's a 45 min hike from the starting from the information centre and then it varies depending on the path you choose to take once you're up there at the hotel. We did both tea houses and mirror lake and were pretty exhausted by the end.

Aimee Lim

One of the most beautiful and most photographic lakes in Canada. This is an absolute must see if you're in the Rockies. Make sure to stop by and see Lake Moraine as well as imo it's even more stunning than Lake Louise

Megan Couche

Beautiful lake! Can get very busy during the day. Lots of great hiking trails that leads up to a teahouse. We did the trail that leads to Mirrored Lake, Lake Agnes & Teahouse and Little Beehive lookout. The Little Beehive is a beautiful lookout! Highly recommend it on clear skies.

Andrew Furmanczyk

The best lake at Banff national park. The views are beautiful. The trials are kind of short and very easy to walk. It's a 25 minutes walk to the lookout point from the parking lot. They have also boats rentals, kind of expensive, but really worth when you are paddling around the lake.

joanna seow

Simply stunning.

Andre Zhang

This is absolutely heaven on earth. Never been to any place better than this. Amazing views all around the lake. Make sure you take a trail walk around the lake and be amazed by the breathtaking views from every corner. There is something about this place that every time I visit this place it looks different and it has different vibes. Even though there are lots of people I have always found this place to be very pristine and Serene.

Eva Zheng

Breathtaking views! Rent a canoe or bring your ice skates

OmKas

Stunning ????

Sophie Wu

There's not much more to add to the reputation of this lake. It is stunning, it is breathtaking, it is gorgeous, a highlight of Banff. The only downside to this popular lake, like all other major tourist attraction is that there are too many people here. It kind of takes away the true experience. Regardless, it is worth the visit. The colour of the lake is more vivid when the sun is not so high. I find it the prettiest before the sun starts to descend. Planning your visit to include a hike around the lake is definitely worthwhile!

Denise Matela

Beautiful lake, but it's a shame that we couldn't take in its full beauty because of the smoke from BC. However, it did add a bit of surrealism, and made it look more "dreamy" if that makes sense.

Maling Sun

Worth to take so many hour to here????

Ravi Reetoo

So beautiful lake and surrounding.

Amarjot Singh

Must go place This is a gorgeous lake. This is a must visit place . One of the most beautiful and unique lakes I have ever seen.It is better to visit during summer in order to enjoy the beautiful blue water. However the frozen lake has a different beauty to it. Around the lake there are places to sit and chill. Also can have dip. But water os pretty cold even wgen outside temperature is above 25°. There are boats, canoes that could be rented . Not a picnic spot and not allowed. There is a shuttle bus starting with a charge of $8. This is very convenient than looking for parking .

Evan Chen

It was awesome! So beautiful! Can't wait to go back

Frank Pineda

Very easy yet breathtaking trail right behind Fairmont hotel.

Bernadette Ssanyu

One of the best place to go in canada. The water seems like from space. The background looks all made with some graphics. It’s a must go place. And guys make sure to get kayak rent there . It’s like 140 bucks for an hour. You won’t regret the view while you be inside the lake on kayak. The feel of the water in your hands. The view of the mountain. The place is is heaven on earth.

Row Dela Peña

Beautiful beautiful beautiful! To enjoy more, you may want to go for lakeshore trail.

Zahra Sedaghat

Hiking was never my thing, but I guess you are never too old to try and enjoy something new. I went on a nature trip earlier this month and had a chance to see a full view of Lake Louise from the mountain peak via the 10.3 km (6.4 mi) Big Beehive Trail. It was -1 Celsius when we started our hike at around 8am but it luckily went up to 12 degrees halfway in when we reached the cute little tea house by the mountains. The short break was quite helpful as we had the chance to sip some hot tea and have a slice of moist chocolate cake. What a wonderful way to fuel up for the next few kilometers of our hike! We continued through rocky paths and small streams until we finally reached the summit. It was breathtaking! I have never seen something as beautiful and as magical in my life. My camera can never capture a picture to give justice to how magnificent it is. The water was turquoise. I couldn’t believe my eyes. There is also a sense of accomplishment because I worked hard to reach the summit. I never thought of giving up and it was all worth it! Indeed, it was an experience worth sharing.

Luke Smith

My fiancé and I came here for vacation and this was one of our must sees. We were not disappointed with Lake Louise! It’s gorgeous and so much to do! We spent all day hiking, first to the glacier and then to big beehive and then to the Agnes tea house. It was a full day of hiking and even though the day started off raining it was still amazing. Make sure to wear layers and bring a comfy backpack to carry bear spray and snacks. Great couples get away!

ALEN JOSE

Beautiful! We were there about 17.00hour, and we had a parking space. I think otherwise it would be very busy. But totally worth your time.

M N Khan

Heaven on earth!

Semon Modi (Semon11)

Review- How to get there, canoeing, big beehive hike. July 2018 TIP** To access sites such as Lake Louise and Morainne Lake, I highly suggest parking in the "lake louise overflow parking" and taking a shuttle from there. The shuttle to Lake Louise is free and the shuttle to Morainne was I believe $15. NOTE* These shuttles stop at certain times to double check this before you wait in line* Lake Louise tends to be busy at all hours of the day so prepare to wait in line for about an hour, often a bit more during tourist season (worth every minute though). CANOE RENTAL- Was around $125 for two of us to have a canoe for one hour. Life jackets and a mini lesson are provided. BEST VIEW- Walk to the right (whem facing the lake) of where the huge group tends to build up. The view will be the same without the crowd blocking your pictures. HIKES- I hiked the "big beehive trail" it was steep a majority of the way and in both shade and sun. There are stops at Mirror Lake and Lake Agnes to catch your breath. View was beautiful and there isn't much of a crowd at the top which was a nice feeling after being surrounded by so many people for most of my trip. Lake Agnes had a teahouse. *cash only* Food and tea are fantastic. Huge variety for everyone including vegan options. Home made bread. Lentil soup and hummus sandwich was a 10/10!

Arshad Fairoos

Beautiful place to spend the day walking or just marvelling at the gorgeous scenery.

Christopher Lui

Beautiful of the nature. Wonderful to see the snow ice on the mountains in the summer time.

Zhang Sunny

Beautiful and worth going there.

Nishikanta Hota

Loved this place. Beautiful views. Hike was awesome.

Nayt Grochowski

Surrounded by incredible mtns. Stay at the fairmount

Nami

Amazing place!

Cars and Crafts

Incredibly beautiful place, wow so impressed at the beauty, amd care given to this place.

Paul Noel

Another must see! The beauty of this place is well known, and you can tell by the throngs of traveller's that stop by. Best advice is to go early or late, not in the middle of the day. We tried to drive to the Lake, and bypass the "Lot Full" signs, which was a bad idea. We ended up parking at the Ski Lift lot and taking the shuttle, but even through all the frustration of getting there, the beauty of the lake, the hotel, and all of the scenery was well worth it! The hike around the lake was an easy walk, mostly flat, but we were sad that we didn't take the hike that would get you to a higher view point.

Mark Hodson

Wow, a wonderland it is!

Arjun Kumar

it is beautiful. Parking can be full especially on long weekends, but one can take a shuttle.

Meenu Bhagat

Breath taking scenery, love it here. I have gone in the winter and summer and it's still beautiful in the winter as well. Try to go early AM in the summer as parking gets full fast and you could get turned down as I did when trying to goto lake moraine.

林E

We visited Lake Louise two different times during our vacation. Each trip, we headed up a trail to a tea house. The trails were very well maintained, accessible, and the beauty surrounding you is beyond belief! While we knew there were bears in the region, the number of hikers helped us feel a little more secure! With that said, there were many stretches where we felt like the trail was ours alone, allowing us to soak in the beauty around us! Oh, and the lake is stunning, too!

Ayoub Bouchama

Lake Louise on December 14, 2021, winter wonderland. It’s so peaceful and quiet.

Jacob Sneek

Now the lake is frozen we can enjoy it like ice surfing

Rey D

What a premier location. This place is truly world class. I enjoy traveling in winter because it’s beautiful and there aren’t crowds. Lake Louise didn’t disappoint. The lake was frozen so you could walk & skate on it. Additionally their was a well worn path (great because there was plenty of snow & I didn’t have to use snow shoes) around the lake and almost to the tea house in the mountains. It was about 4 miles round trip. The views were spectacular in every direction. There were even a few frozen waterfalls! The Fairmont hotel is at one end of the lake and is one of those grand hotels that has been around forever. I will definitely stay there when I return to see the spring / summer views. I’m certainly it will be just as spectacular!

Giang Lê

Absolutely beautiful. Parking can be really difficult. Worth every ounce of energy it took to get there.

JÄBBÅŘ ÝÖŲŠĄF (ŘĄJPŲŤ)

Visited Lake Louise July 5th 2017, Canada 150. It was really Busy. Was able to find parking. Beautiful, scenic and picturesque. I recommend the lookout trail. 1.8 km. There were also lots of mosquito's, bring repellent.

Heena Pawar

Love going here during Ice Magic Festival!

Ana Galvao

LOVE it but go for Canoe or Kayak at Lac Moraine it is 95$ plus tax for 1hour instead of 30min for 145$ plus tax charged at Lac Louise

Sarah Long

Magnificent. This is a most see any time of year!

Doug Hannum

Lake Louise by the Fairmont Chateau is indeed a gorgeous place to view the blue waters. There are quite a few trails on both sides of the lake (Agnes Tea House and Fairview Lookout trail) which are definitely worth checking out. You can also go canoeing, though do note it is quite busy and only about a dozen or so three person canoes are available as first come first serve. Also, visitors not staying at the Fairmont will have to slightly pay a different higher price to go canoeing (only $10-20 more) and will also have to park at the Lake Louise parking if visiting between 7am to 7pm. As it is a very touristy area, it can get very busy at peak times. Don't worry, most people are Canadians, so you will get to take a nice group picture or selfie with a view of the lake behind you.

V Friesen

I agree with other reviewers...... Lake Louise is certainly one of the most beautiful, scenic, iconic places in the Canadian Rockies; however, when we visited in August 2019, we felt that it is being overrun with way too many tourists. The parking situation is crazy and there are too many tour buses. Take the Roam Express bus from Banff, like we did for a more relaxing experience. And hike a trail to get away from the crowds.

Dayan Siri

So this is where reality hit me! I thought it was lake with a beach! but then this lake is at the backside of Fairmont Hotel Lake Louise! You can access this from the hotels backyard! there is a walking path around the lake. which makes it easy access. The beauty of the lake is its mirror mountain image in the water. Spectacular. You can go canoeing / kayaking in the lake. there are 3 famous trail from this lake! There is a separate parking lot for the lake visitors but the parking is paid. about 12 dollars which feels super expensive.

Cathie Desmarais

No words can explain what you see in person!

K “Kiki” S

Breath taking place. Though it was frozen when we came ..still.worth the time. Would like to come back summertime so we can kayak the lake. Walking on a frozen lake was awesome experience.

JIM WOLFF

Stunning lake. I would also recommend canoeing there if the lineup for rentals is not too long.

Lynn Millar

Arrive early. Take the hike up to the Tea House and you will not be disappointed. Hike is easy and kid friendly.

Ale 6500

Breath taking views, nice trails around the lake, beautiful amenities and great activities!

Joe Klus

Wow ....I will be back..came from Ontario to see it ..so amazed.

Chantel Reems

A must visit place if your on this side of Canada! Absolutely jaw dropping scenery, from the drive up to the point of destination! It’s incredibly beautiful! From tall mountain peaks to picturesque clearings! We visited in summer and were not disappointed! I do recommend you get up early and get there before everyone else as it’s a hot spot for tourists! With its breath taking views, Crystal clear waters with a colour I can only describe as emerald? Blueish green. Cleanest clearest water I have ever seen with my own eyes and spectacular surroundings! What a place! The pictures I took are now part of my computer screen saver, social media backdrops and adorn my walls! I will be back in different seasons just to let it take my breath away in every moment! Conclusion: A must visit if your in western Canada! You won’t have seen anything like it! Summer travel tips: bug spray and sun lotion!

Josephine Fung

Most breath taking place on earth

Amanda Relyea

Amazing views with a nice walk along the water

Harsh Patel

Beautiful, but oh so busy.

Ishav Sood

Lake Louise is spectacular to see and it was also very crowded. We did the walk along the lake and at first it was so crowded that we could barely move, but it thinned out as we went on. Lake Louise is truly spectacular to see. Wonderful lake with breath taking views. We had a real treat when some of the indigenous native people played drums and sang for us all. We also saw some chipmunks! Worth the extra drive.

Peter

Great view, just too many people in peak season.

09/14/2019. So Beautiful! Must Add on your bucket list! Your photo needs no editing anymore! It’s sooo beautiful that you really have to take a video to prove the beauty of it! All my friends says it seems fake. We booked the tour via Trip advisor, Moraine Lake and Lake Louise Tour! Soooo worth it! We didnt have to worry about driving and parking. Your time might be limited at the lake but going in this group tour was worth the hustle of driving and parking because there were many other tourist around.

One of the world's most scenic places - the ONLY man made structure is the gorgeous Chateau Fairmont Lake Louise

Ryan Nizinkevich

Nice place to visit Last summer 2019 i was disappointed due to the place is crowed to many visitors around the area.the place is famous Then problem is parking bus are full and long hours timo wait

Tiffany Hsu

Great but crowded

Mike Salter

Flourishing with elliguent cherishing visual.

Keith Anthony

By far, without doubt, hands down, one of the most beautiful lakes in the world! I know that is a very bold statement but it’s true! Come and check it out for yourself and see how beautiful it actually is, because words and visuals won’t do justice in this case. Winter wonderland in winter and teal magic in the summer! Great for treks and hikes. There is also parking available! With the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise at the bottom, the whole scene becomes straight out of an animation movie! A must visit place and a must see sight if you are journeying the earth! :)

Thisa Pak

Such a big wow! I was there both in summer and winter, somehow love the winter scenery more

Minei Chen

Lake Louise is one of Canada’s most iconic lakes for a good reason it is absolutely stunning

Robert Saunders

I love photographing families and couples at this beautiful lake in any season! There are trails that lead around the lake and can be accessed in all seasons, the boat house in the summer for canoeing and skating in the winter. There are also other activities such as sleigh rides, skiing and hiking. Lake Louise is a must see and never gets old to visit! @jessleighartist

Ilija Bilbija

Ridiculously gorgeous! So blue it looks fake.

G K

One word spectacular just didn't eat at the hotel

Amara Khadidja

Stunning view, probably the busiest place in the area even off season. Lots of people & parking lot was packed!

Jasmyne Jones

Another breathtaking views of Canada ticked off the list. What an eye candy it is. So pleasing to the eyes. It has my heart for its just so heavenly.

bs t

A stunning place to visit in all season!!!

Ashkan Samivand

It's just like the photos. Prepare for lots of people. Parking can be tricky and you might need to park at an extension parking lot and take a bus there, but you can't really go to Banff without going here or you'll suffer from massive FOMO :)

Grace Lee

The view is amazing. In short, it's heaven on earth.

Steven Benjamin

Love love love Aug 2019 trip!! Miss miss miss very much

Helen Xu

Nothing can be more prettier than this, feels like a heaven

Jaspreet Sembhi

A view to remember for life!

Xingyu Shui

The view is so beautiful but you have to get up early and be able to arrive the parking lot before 7am to be able to park your car. Otherwise when the lot is full you can only walk all the way up to the lake from the visitor center, or wait for the bus to take you up there. We were there in the weekday afternoon at 7pm and were able to find a parking spot but it was not the perfect lighting to take photos of the lake and the mountain behind it. That’s why it’s less busy in the afternoon.

Arima Udagawa

Amazing, but honestly this isn't not even the best part of the rockies. This is the most touristy place and is definitely beautiful, but if you pass up other parts of the rockies including Jasper and Yoho, you are missing out!

Jill Baxter Pugh

A true marvel, breathtaking beauty.

doble kara

One of the most photographed lakes in the whole world. If you have the chance, go there during both winter and summer. You can go there hundreds of times and still her beauty would not fail to amaze you.

Natalia Luna

1 star is for the parking management, not the lake. My family went to Lake Luise in the afternoon on July 14, which was a Friday. I drove to the closest parking lot and were driven by the 4 guys working there to leave right away. They were not willing to help at all. I opened my window and told one of them that I would like to drop my family then I will leave. When I slowed down the car a bit, the guy yelled at us loudly. Other 3 guys were unwilling to help neither. I am thinking they must be stressed out by the traffic, however the traffic was not much at all as I could see at that moment. It is hard to imagine how can they handle much heavier traffic in the weekend. Can some practical approach be developed to avoid stressing parking staff and tourists anymore? I do hope no one being yelled "get out of here" at Lake Louise anymore by working staff under any circumstances.

Manny

My fifth trip up this year. Worst Traffic control ever. Ever. Ever. Employees can't get to their workplaces. Guests can't get to Le Château Many Beautiful places to visit in Canada's rockies so I would avoid this disaster area.

Faye Lee

Best time we visited before any crowd so water was still

Bill Wray

Busy but one of the prettiest places on earth.

Mortda Alkhardawi

The view is beautiful but the place is terribly crowded. The feeling is like on a poorly managed airport with long queues

Brett Quigley

If you're in Alberta and going through the Rockies, visit Lake Louise

shyam gajjar

Amazing, but the loud visitors ruin the peaceful area.

Denis F

Beautiful place. Breathtaking view

richard campbell

Beautiful lake. Walk 10 minutes and the horde of tourists thin out. Get there before 930 for parking near by.

Newaz Chowdhury

This place is fantastic, bring your most comfortable hiking shoes. We hiked 17km and we didnt see everything. The Big beehive is amazing, now in jun it requires previous hiking experience, it is dangerous because of the melting ice on the way. But if you want to take the risk the view is breathtaking. All the pics are from the same day. Believe or not lol.

Herbie Dare

Stunning. Truly one of the natural marvels of the world. I had the pleasure to visit several times this year and see it in its liquid and solid state. Whether it was summer or winter, it is breathtaking. It gets very busy in the summer time, so make time to get there and do so early in the morning. You won’t regret your visit here.

Aisha Qureshi

Great spot. Lots of hiking trails.

Alejoa Crozier

It’s a very nice location the views are amazing I just found it very busy compared to other locations in the area it is a must if your in the Banff area.

Felix Girard

Very very pretty as pretty as can be , every one needs to come to this place one , but once is enough, You pay to stay so see the iconic view but their is so much more . You can hire a boat , or hike to the other end of the lake. In the winter you can ice skate the lake . The lake looks very differnt as per the time of year you go

Suz L

Came back to Lake Louise for the second time . And decided to upgrade my point of view. If you have the energy to hike up the big beehive trail you will be rewarded by amazing views such as this. The photos don’t do it justice, you might be sore getting up there but will be glad once you arrive at the top.

Local Shopper

Nice lake with people who are there for the same reason as me

Candy Pink

The most visited lake in Alberta. Be ready for not find parking specially in the summer's weekend. Beautiful place though. Do hiking here to explore more beautiful view.

Naas S

The most unforgettable place I have ever been to.

ZannyMoe

Beautiful place ! If you want those post card like pictures without fighting the crowd you'll have to plan to get up early. The last two times I've been there this place has been a zoo with parking and the amount of people visiting. Anything after 10am be prepared to navigate crowds and spending a little bit of extra time being "safe" while you drive your car.

Celeste Ruppelt

I was hoping to see those beautiful turquoise waters but I was a few days too early. It was still frozen solid ???? Still a fantastic view though.

Jason Battiston

Domi w

Incredible experience in winterc, truely a winter wonderland

HEAVYWEIGHT UNBOXING

I really enjoyed visiting Lake Louise to take some photos and enjoy the AMAZING scenery. If your coming in the winter, make sure to dress warm though! I would highly recommend visiting, if you are in the area.

Stephen Klawa

Possibly the most beautiful lake in Banff. The color of the water is out of this world! It’s a popular canoeing spot. Also, you get amazing pictures.

Ping Xing

Beautiful and serene. Scenery is breathtaking and no matter how busy the lake is, there always is a perfect spot for that perfect photo.

CHOW XY

This lake is also very beautiful with close proximity to the Fairmont hotel. I love the fact that it is easier to walk around the lake without climbing any heights. The serene atmosphere is very beautiful. I love it!!!!

Shweta Dhok

An amazing place surrounded by snow peaked mountains and some wonderful trails around it. The lake was all frozen in May 2017 when I visited it

Juliette Harris

One of the most beautiful place in canada

Dane Carter

I give this a two stars. We live in Calgary and coming here in the winter is really nice or October/November (if we want to see it unfrozen) But coming here during summer is just not even something I would attempt becuase even the shoulder seasons (June, September) are an absolute nightmare. It's impossible to appreciate this glorious lake when your constantly being hounded to take people's picture for them and the car park is full by 7am! Even the hike to the tea house is just a congested nightmare now. I generally avoid the national parks in summer as there a nightmare. You should have to book a parking space here like in Bruce Peninsula National Park.

A. Alejandro Guerrero

It's probably one of the most naturally beautiful places I've been to. When you go don't spend your time just in the area by the parking lot, if you do you'll miss so much. Go for the walk around the lake and enjoy the full beauty of it all. Plus you may see some wildlife.

Alice Cristina Madureira

We did the hike around the lake towards the plain of 6 glaciers and then up to Agnes Lake/Tea Rooms. Don't go to the Tea Room it was beyond terrible. Awful service and the food was disgraceful. Lake Louise itself is very pretty, not as pretty a lake as Moraine but still lovely with some stunning scenery in spots. Quite hilly in places and ice was still around so slippery in parts. Very touristy and busy tracks around the lake itself.

Himanshu Wadhwa

Totally amazing place what a view fantastic walk up to glacier

Gille Fortier

One the best place on earth ????

Karen Cheng

The parking situation looked overwhelming, but—even at the far end of the lot—it was a five-minute walk to the water’s edge. The color of the water looked surreal, but the color you see in the photos is totally accurate. There’s a path partway around the lake that’s a pleasant stroll. We ate at the Alpine Social restaurant in the hotel. The menu prices suggested that you were paying a premium for the location, but the food was fantastic and well worth the cost. Don’t visit Banff without a stop at Lake Louise.

Emma Brown

beautiful scene

Jeremy McKinley

Lake Louise is about as breath taking as you can expect for a lake view in your life. Crowds of people everywhere are inevitable, but being able to soak in the view is worth it.

Taniya Perera

One of the most beautiful places in the world and definitely in Canada. Such a blue lake. There is a lot of parking (paid) and the Chateau hotel right next to this lake. Huge tourist attraction but it is gorgeous. Can be very very busy in the summer. There are public bathrooms, people directing traffic, and an off site parking lot if it is too busy, and you can bus in for free from there.

JIN LIU

Beautiful and romantic Lake Louise! We were lucky when we got there, there's not a lot of people. Perfect for taking photos!

An Huynh

Best location with spectacular view, turquoise colour water ,well connected with transport

May Facundo

Spectacular and breath taking beautiful view~ Friendly local residents

Gaurav Arora

This place is like a dream.. sunrise spent here is like a different level experience.. strongly recommend.
