I've stayed here several times over the years. The lack of in room amenities forces everyone into common areas. Fireplace room, games room and music room etc. Was so cool when my friend started playing piano, had other guest join us and met people you otherwise wouldn't meet at other hotels. I also love history so I've explored every inch of this place. It like going back to the pioneer days of early Canada. The restaurant was amazing whole family enjoyed every dish. Plus the roof top hot tub with views of the glaciers was an awesome way to end the day. Not a hotel for picky/cheap people but one for adventurers who like to socialize. Kitchen even ensured we had our lunch boxes ready at 4am for our early departure to Moraine lake.

the food was great, the bison burger party was so good you could eat it by itself. the bartender was very creative and friendly and brought us a new cocktail he was working on to try and it was great.

The staff and location are both incredible. I live in the Rocky mountains and this is by far the my favourite restaurant in lake Louise. Their patio is unreal during the summer months. The staff are friendly, attentive, and educated. Service is amazing! I would highly recommend staying at Deer Lodge and visiting their restaurant.

Really great hotel! The beds are fantastic throughout, but for the rooms I'd recommend the king size rooms (not as many of them there but truly much better in terms of room size and all)

Our room was tiny, we just about fit our suitcases around the bed, there was no more room for anything other than the bed itself. The style of the hotel is very dated and falling apart in some places. I wouldn't say it would value for what we paid. We ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant and the service was poor, took a good 10 minutes to be given a menu and the food took about 40 minutes to come out when it was only us and 2 others in the restaurant. Although the location is great and allows parking near the main attraction (Lake Louise), I'm not sure that makes up for the rest of it. There is a hot tub on the roof which was nice but the bubbles weren't working. Overall needed modernising and nicer rooms! Communal areas e.g. fireplace lounge and bar were quaint and felt rustic Canadian which were the only nice areas.

We stayed here for 2 nights, the price was really good. The restaurants were superb, a little pricey but totally worth it. Everyone working there was really helpful and nice. There's a hot tub on the roof too! We used the game room playing pool and sorry! The room was small but the bed was soft (which I like). I highly recommend and I hope I come back for another stay.

Excellent location just across the street from the Fairmont on lake Louise. Just a quick 5-10 minute walk to the lake for a fraction of the price. There was no elevator and our room was quite small, with no TV or air conditioning. The wifi was pretty good and the antiques from the days when it was a lodge are fabulous. The dining was good even though the menu was limited. Everything was tasty.

It's not rustic, it's just old. The only thing going for this hotel is the location. The rooms are old and unrenovated, the bathrooms are slightly renovated. The photos on the website Do NOT represent the actual rooms in this hotel. The furniture seems like it's from the 50s, weird decorations. There's carpet everywhere. The stairs to the hottub is all carpet. The wet stairs must contribute to the moldy smell of the hotel. For one night, it is fine but I would not go beyond that. There is no coffee maker in the rooms. I have never been to a hotel without coffee or tea. Don't forget, don't use hot and cold water at the same time. The temperature of the water in the shower also fluctuates on its own, one second you're fine, the next you're either burning yourself or in a freezer. They should also invest in some better WiFi as they don't have a tv. There is only one outlet in the entire room. You would think with the price they're charging for the hotel, they could buy some new furniture or fix up the place.

Would give a 1 star if not for the food. Paid $300 for a poor outdated room solely due to location to lake Louise. I’m hind-site would have stayed in town. I can only imagine what CRMR makes on hotel guests and it appears nothing is reinvested into your stay. Outlets not working, heat not working, Bathroom door bangs into the toilet when opening, greeted quite rudely by grounds-person who assumed we were trying to park and walk up to the lake. Etc etc

elegant dining space, sunny by the window. good selection of interesting menu items.

Our room was really nice and comfortable, front desk staff was very helpful and accommodating but for the price we paid ($400 a night), I think the hotel can afford updating some of the lobby furniture which looks to be from the 1700s (and not in a good way).

It was okay. The restaurant and server Christian was the best part. The food is really tasty and the patio is nice. The room, on the other hand, was dingey and outdated, however, I hear they are renovating so I will look forward to seeing the improvements in the future.

My husband and I visited Deer Lodge for dinner and we were very satisfied. We ordered the rib-eye and the salmon, and both were excellent. We both loved the rustic atmosphere of the restaurant, and our server Alana was both very professional and personable. I would definitely recommend Deer Lodge and we will be coming again, and will be asking for Alana.

The hotel is in desperate need of a renovation and full clean. The bathroom fan was coated in dust. The floor tiles were cracked. The hot water cut in and out during a shower if anyone else in the hotel is using the water. Light shade was full of bugs.

The room was quite charming and we enjoyed the vintage feel of our room. Was a little disappointed that there was no kettle or similar in the room. Would have only improved our stay. We loved the roof top hot tub. Definitely the highlight of our stay. We ate one dinner in the dining room and it was the best meal we ate all week. I'm still taking about it with everyone I know.

Nostalgic 1920s Hotel with Authenticity preserved in the renovation. Museum style feel in some rooms. A must for History buffs. Outstanding Restaurant food and service. Very small rooms with nice beds, questionable heat source and hit and miss WiFi.

Stayed for a night. The good: 10 minute walk to Lake Louise. The bad: $199 for a very small room. No exhaust. Smells like cave. The worst accommodation ever had. Never ever staying there again.

Marie-Ève CLOUTIER

Staff went above an beyond to make our stay memorable. At dinner we forgot to mention a dairy allergy and the re-cooked the meal and brought an appetizer to tide my wife over until the food arrived. Ignore the negative reviews. Those people had unrealistic expectations.. Deer lodge will be a memorable stay.
