REVIEWS OF Banff National Park IN Lake Louise

Sascha Witascheck

Lots of trails and wildlife. The town itself is what you'd expect from a tourist town. Several good restaurant locations and some fun candy stores.

Francis XIV

Live in Calgary and I forgot how many walking/hiking trails there are. Make the time and take a trek. The views are spectacular. Don't forget it is a "wild life" area. Brush up on what to to incase you meet a wild animal before heading out.

Benyamin Khaleghi

Excellent, Excellent, Excellent..A must on every bucket list! The weather was not cooperative when we arrived but the majestic mountains and turquoise water more than made up for it.. Must see- 1. Scenic drive to the Columbia Glacier Center 2. Peyto Lake 3. Moraine Lake (Fav) 4. Johnston Canyon 5. Lake Louise

Shan Ali

There isn’t enough space to leave a good enough review for this amazing place. Worth every penny for the fee to enter the park, and even driving in it offers amazing views and lots of “ohh’s and “ahh’s”. We did a few hikes that we would recommend (Lake Agnes Tea House near Lake Louise, the Lake Louse shore walk, Lake Moraine Rock Pile and Johnstone Canyon). We were here in late May for US Memorial Weekend (after the busy Victoria weekend), and were able to get parking, but plan to use the park shuttles for off-parking if you’re here in peak seasons.

Priya Shah

Most beautiful landscapes I’ve ever seen! Lake Louise, Morraine Lake, Emerald Lake. Gorgeous

Parampal Bagga

Banff is one of the most beautiful places in the world. The mountains around it are spectacular. You feel like you are surrounded. There's so much to do in the area too. Skiing, biking, hiking, trails right in town - if you are not into that, there lots of shopping as well galleries, museums etc. Try some of the locally brewed beers or go to one of the distilleries while you are here. Take some home for gifts.

Talal Zraik

Most beautiful and Canada's oldest national park in the Rocky Mountains. Tons of things to do and see, the Bow falls, Banff Gondola, hiking, skiing, mountain climbing, the hot springs, the coffee bars, the restaurants, the night life, all these quirky little shops, the scenic views.. just amazing and full of life! People from all around the world are there! Beautiful town with shuttle services always available.

Lisa C

Perfect spot for hiking without going too far out of the city, wide paths, lots of small wildflowers, it makes for a great break from the concrete jungle! . It's also a super large area so you can definitely come for revisits. There are hills and the ravine. Safe and peaceful park for all. Overall a very good place for the family.

Bibin Dominic Tom

Best park in the country. The mountains the towns the scenery is all soo beautiful. So much to do and never gets old. I support the park every year with purchasing my seasonal pass. Got married in Banff and made for a perfect wedding. Tons of close skiing resorts or hiking. Also lots of camping inside or just outside of park. Highly highly recommend going to see.

A Bourque

Passing through Banff National Park on the Ice Fields Highway is always a treat. Such beauty as far as the eye can see.

Zach Stout

I simply adore this park, best national park in Canada (and North America). Nature, wildlife, and infrastructure - Canada's first national park sets the bar for all others. Definitely recommend a visit!

Lapsy Kevreki

One of the most beautiful places i have been. It never gets old....!!

Kayle Gordon

One of the most beautiful places you can go to in Canada. We went to Lake Louise/Moraine Lake and completed the Sentinel Pass hike. In Banff, we took the start of a day at Lake Minnewanka and rented a motor boat to go out into the lake. $85 for the first hour and $43 for subsequent hours. Definitely worth it. You can also fish there too.

Chels

One of the best places I have ever been. Must go place in Canada. Try swimming in Lake Louise.

Israa Hilles

My favourite place at all time. Less busy between late fall and ski season.

DrHargill

amazing place all around

Ric Miller

Beautiful mountain views. Very scenic. Incredibly beautiful place to just come walk around. We came here many times before. Today was rainy so the mountain views were harder to see but is still such a beautiful place.

Cindy Fang

Really amazing place to visit! Though the town of Banff is quite the tourist central, the national park it is contained within is beautiful. With mountains wherever you go, the most amazing coloured rivers and lakes, and awesome forests, Banff is for sure a place to visit. Make sure to bring your hiking shoes, because the best way to see all the park has to offer is by hiking, a lot!

J. Shaw Renner

If you enjoy nature and hiking, not just the tourist photos but hiking in nature and climbing peaks, 1 week here is not even close to being enough. You could be out here for weeks and not even make a dent in the trails, mountains and local culture.

Em von Euw

Such a beautiful place, the views are breathtaking

Tina Aubrey-Lilly

Beautiful place. Went here for christmas break 2019. The Banff townsite has become a tourist trap, recommend not going there unless for accommodations or food.

Alexabeth L

Spectacular weather & scenery! Many nice places to visit and stop for a picnic, take a hike, etc.

Ana De Leon

Absolutely breathtaking!! Even just driving through it’s it truly impressive. The grand mountains capped with snow with the sun peaking through. The beauty of the vibrant Larch tree with their fall color! A continuous WOW expressed from my mouth... endless appreciation for this park!!!

Greg Heinisch

Hit up Maraine Lake. Got there at about 5 am and waited for the sun to rise. This is definitely my favorite spot, as well as for others because it is PACKED by 5am. We arrived JUST in time as the parking lot was more or less full by that time. Well worth the extremely early drive!

karishma Shah

Beyond stunning! So many wonderful places to explore. Great for hikers as well as those just looking for some breathtaking views.

Jonathan David's Painting

Loved my stay! What a great place to come and relax. Try to get to hikes early before 9am to secure parking, if not there shuttles available ($). In any weather it is beautiful but I'm sure summer and sunny and still is the nicest. Make sure to dress warm and have solid shoes for your hike. The time of the year you come makes a difference in the color of the water so do your research ahead of time! July August are the good months if you want to see that bright color, has to do with the silt and the glaciers melting. It's still beautiful other times of the year but it's different.

Ian Paulson

One of the most beautiful places I ever visited. Lots of points to hike & amazing lakes to explore

Sundar Baniya

A Simply beautiful... The place will make you come closure to nature... Good in both summer and winter season...

Donald hood

Afton Arlana C.

So Beautiful! However, it's like Disneyland in the summer months. Lots of tourists, so be sure plan ahead cause parking at major destination points fills up fast. Also, there are a lot of trails that most tourists won't even go near, so be sure to check out different hikes at the visitor centers. Please be respectful of wildlife and also pick up after yourself.

Reg Belyea

Banff is an absolutely gorgeous place to visit! I visited during August of 2020. I love everything about this place, from the mountains, to the trees. It is magnificent!!! I would definitely come back here again!!! I would also recommend anyone who is planning on visiting to explore the beauty this place holds. Nature truly is beautiful.

Rajasekhara S

Beautiful. Breathtaking. A must see. Great services and shopping available. The nature is amazing. Seeing live animals on the streets is unforgettable.

Barry Summerfield

Three hours from Jasper city, fantastic view while driving. Don't forget to prepare a map or follow No. 93 Road. There is no signal.

Dan Schykulski

Please spend more nights exploring the park instead of getting drunk at the town. This place is so amazing than it almost hurt to see so many people just partying and waste such an great experience. The weather gets better after June. We make a hike at the beginning of June and we found a lot of snow in the way. We make it to the top of the mountain but it was really cold. The Egypt Lake trail is amazing in Summer, you will see a field full of yellow flowers and just a some metters ahead you can walk to Shadow lake.

Margetina Anastasakis

Breathtaking. Take a day or two and just enjoy the place. Snow-capped mountains, lakes, rivers, wildlife, all come together to take your breath away. Town of Banff is worth a visit as well, almost completely surrounded by mountains, it's an awesome experience.

David McCormick

Beautifull park, no doubt. Lots of hikes and amazing nature. But: VERY crowded.

theheartsurgeon amritsar

Amazing park, absolutely gorgeous, great hikes, but a bit crowded during peak season

Michael Banman

Amazing views and its always great to get away and enjoy nature! Its a little smoky, but still enjoyable!

Diamond Life Academy (Scotty Hulshof)

Absolutely stunning place. The wife and I went for 2 day camp and woke in the most beautiful area in Banff. Plenty to see along the drive between Banff and jasper. I'm from England and we have beautiful countryside but I've never seen anything like Banff. Would highly recommend it.

Judith Wyo

Its a very big place to travel too! You need lots of time when you go there... I suggest maybe minimum of 2 days going around to enjoy the beAutiful sight... Even driving around, you won’t be dissapoointed with the scenery... Two thumbs up to whomever develop this place!

Matt Jones

Absolutely beautiful on a scenic level, plenty to do all year round whether it be boarding, rafting hiking or climbing but very very busy in the summer months. Definitely worth a visit! Banff itself has an awesome party scene too!

Jay Detty

Banff and Yosemite are the most beautiful, grandiose places that I have ever been to. All the hikes, all the lakes, nature, gorgeous blue and green colors just give you a zest to life. You can’t go to Alberta without visiting Banff.

Louie Doulias

Every place we went to in Banff is just gorgeous. All the views are breathtaking and peaceful. I enjoyed three days of hiking, one day tour to different lakes and the town. It doesn’t get dark until midnight. The sunset time is around 10pm but still you will see light in the sky. I recommend to buy parking ticket for multiple days so that you don’t have to keep going to the line. It saves time and also it will be cheaper because you will pay based on clock (e.g. if you are staying in Calgary hotel but driving to Banff everyday, then it’s better to buy parking ticket for multiple days. Hope you understand what I mean lol). I will definitely come back. I want to see more lakes and hike more mountains and also want to see mountains in winter as well although I hate cold ????❤️

Desiree Ma

I visited Banff during late winter, and still there was a lot of snow. It's good for skiing though. During spring and summer, the Banff gondola would be great. Also hiking on trails during summer are very popular. During my visit, I went to the hot springs to take a swim. It was a great experience swimming in waters at 39C, when it's freezing outside.

Pete Vitulli

This is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been, it is a must in your bucket list, there are several campgrounds but in summer time you need to book with months in advance, it is recommended, if you go hiking or biking to always carry your bear spray, make a lot of noice all the way and it's better if you travel in groups, otherwise you could end up having a nasty encounter, bear attacks are not common but if you follow this simple instructions you'll be fine. Also, if you are lucky you could even see the auroras at night.

Jonathan Segal

What a magnificent place. So many things to do and see. For camera buffs this is definitely a place to visit. Wish we could have stayed longer

Ross Buchan

The town is really great! There are a lot of souvenier shops and the restaurants are nice. There are trials which are really beautiful to walk around and there are also plenty of tourist attractions nearby. Only thing I would complain about is that food in restaurants seems to be a bit pricey. But there are bakeries /pasty shops and a McDonald's so you don't have to break the bank eating out everyday.

Waheed Sabir

Very interesting experience overall. A lot of tourists in crowded places, fascinating nature beauty and very good infrastructure. You can literally drive to almost any place, park conveniently and go hike, bike and just enjoy lakes and mountain views. People are very friendly here and you should beware only two things - bears and speed tickets. It's only 30 km per hour allowed in the city

Ken Chau

Banff.. oh Banff. I visited Banff in Mid August 2021, but there was poor visibility of the mountains due to the Forest Fires. It was exceptionally gorgeous, and Lake Louise was amazing. I don't get the hype but Jasper was much more pretty. The town was so beautiful. Would come again.

Becky Lee

One of my favourite places in the world. Stunning landscapes, mountains, lakes, views... The town of Banff is a bit too busy for me in summer but all the hiking is amazing. So proud to be Albertan!

J P

An amazing experience that will stays in your memory. Beautiful drive through the park with lots of lakes, creeks and mountains to observe. BTW, the drop pin on the map does not lead to anywhere by car,

Dez Lee

What an amazingly beautiful place. We hiked at Lake Louise and also stopped in the town of Banff. Definitely plan to return. It was magical. A place to breath and enjoy God’s beautiful creation.

Lada Nazarenko

The absolute best hikes! There were some road closures at this time of year, you couldn’t drive to Morraine Lake for example. We did Parker Ridge Trail and it was epic, even after walking through 200m of snow to our knees. We also stayed at Mosquito Campground which was beautiful in the snow. Can’t wait to come back another time!

Mama Bear

Great drive. Not too many people, good time to drive through. Sunny, warm and peaceful. Weather was perfect. 20.00 to drive through the park.

Reemo

Hands down one of the most beautiful national parks We have ever been to so many waterfall gardens and hikes. The wild life is everywhere will definitely return

Zuri Han

Lots of great hiking trails and beautiful lakes. Be sure to go really early to Moraine Lake if you want to get a parking slot. If not, be ready to spend for the shuttle service from Lake Louise.

Raman Vashishat

An amazing national park with tons of beauty in nature and cute little towns. Perfectly preserved wilderness just shows that Canada takes it seriously. The Sulphur mountain hike in Banff offers a great 360° view of the valley and the town of Banff, and for additional 36 dollars you can take the gondola down! P.S. Remember to bring your proof of vaccination if you want to be able to use the services on the peak of the mountain.

Sean Santoro

Truly magical! Parks Canada works hard to keep it in it's best condition and the rest is all natural! Wow!

elahe tavakol

There's surreally coloured lakes, majestic mountains and endless outdoor adventures. Canada's first national park and the world's third, it has a rich heritage as one of the world's most awe-inspiring mountain destinations.

S K

Amazing views. Stayed at one of the campgrounds and it was pretty good. There are many bears but had a great time! Did the hike to the Lake Agnes tea house and it was pretty hard but we were super happy that we made it! I really do recommend doing this hike.

Shane Suttle

Couldn't ask for more! It has a gondola and a hiking trail! Most people will take the gondola but if you have time, I highly suggest the hiking trail since you get great views as well and you'll meet the Chipmunks! Also, the gondola is fairly pricy.

J Fiesty

Banff is everything mountains lakes town activities restaurants coffe shop. Beautiful place to stay for a long while.

wareb321

Beautiful Park!! Plenty of affordable places to stay and camp if you have a van, RV, or a tent. I recommend Johnston Canyon, Lake Louise, and Tunnel Mountain campgrounds. Beautiful Wildlife Everywhere! Would be hard to not get a photo of an Elk or a Deer, at the very least. Lake Louise and Lake Moraine are must see places! Both have good trails around the lakes for a nice hike. Being a Snowbird, Spring snd Summer seem like the months for me to visit. Winter may be nice for skiers and people who like to dress in layers. I love Canada, this place is great representation of the beautiful Canadian landscapes and people.

Sam Sharok

Amazing tourist destination located in Banff Alberta, there is so much to do here, so many sights to see, just ask at the visitor centre and the staff will be happy to give suggestions.

Storm Music

Beautiful and wild nature all around, need to be prepared for masses of people on most popular spots though. Amount of hikes that can be done is huge, so everybody can find what suits himself.

brian smith

I had a road trip from Toronto to Vancouver and to be honest, this was the only place that I thought was worth the whole trip. We went in when it was snowing moderately that is why the cold didn’t matter much to us and the driving conditions as well. This place is like heaven and should be visited already once in a lifetime. I would go to this place again and again. The mountains looked so gigantic and their tips being hidden in the clouds was like looking at heaven. If you get a chance you should also take up the road trip up north to the trail which is recommended. The hot spring is a place you would not want to miss. The city is pretty small but has all the necessities and amenities you need. Do visit the waterfalls as well! Cheers to road travellers.

Zhuo Chao Zhang

Greatest place to visit in Canada. Plenty of activities to do on your visit. Blue torquoise lakes with snow capped mountain, meadow and alpine ranges. Sightseeing, biking, hiking, stroll the main street, visit the hot springs, hoodoos, take the Gondola to Sulphur Mountain, visit Bow Falls, Fenland Park, Vermillion Lake. Great food and friendly people. Views, views and did I say more amazing views. So much activities to do there’s just not enough time. Lake Louise, Kananskis, Jasper and Canmore area are all a short drive away if you’ve got more than a weekend to spare. Super beautiful. You’ll be amazed and will definitely return.

Sebastian Pittarelli

Hands down the best place for hiking! At first when you go up the trails, its is difficult at hard but as you go it gets easier and easier. If you want to go to the teahouse on top of the mountain, it will take you about an hour of non-stop walking, but the view is great! You can also go even higher that will take another hour of walking and you can see everything up there.

Sridhar Mane

This is a must-see national park. It is extremely beautiful, the color of the glacial water is unbelievably blue. Photos do not do justice to the natural beauty. One can stare at the river, lakes and mountains all day. Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, botanical gardens, the Banff Springs Hotel are some of the must see places. Activities include trekng, riding the gondola to the top of sulfur mountain and rafting on the Bow River.

Alejandro Coronado

Breathtaking! In every way possible. It has become quite popular and very busy. Skiing is fantastic, restaurants in Banff and Lake Louise are excellent and the scenery is unmatched.

Weston Zimmerman

Always a beautiful location. Two Jack Lake was perfect for some Family Kayaking. Smaller lake but calm for the novice paddler. Great for SUP!. Parking at the Day Use sight gets crowded so please be considerate. Dogs are allowed so Fido can enjoy some time on the water as well! If you are lucky and can get a camp site at Two Jack Lakeside you won't need to come to the Day Use to get in the Lake but Two Jack Main is a great Campground as well. Bus service from both Campgrounds to get around the Park and into Banff if you want to avoid the parking pain.

Marta Borowska

Absolutely beautiful. Something you have to see in person to truly enjoy. I would like to go back and see everything I missed. Lake Louise and Lake Morraine are both go to’s. This lake in the sunset pictures is a lake that was near our campsite, not sure of the name.

MaLee Hucks

The park is gorgeous but access to areas is limited. The website is confusing, be sure to purchase your park passes and camp passes - they’re separate. Travelling from Ontario and camping with my family, I thought it would be an awesome experience. We didn’t get there until early in the morning and struggled following signs around the park. After an extra hour of driving we found a campgrounds. It had many empty spots and staff had us pack up and suggested two different spots off the highway. Fine. But, I made it clear it was my first experience in a national park, driving across canada, and with my two kids and partner. I figured the staff might try to be more accommodating. Nope. Beautiful place, just make sure you call and get their staff to set you up, website is confusing and switches between their local park and the Parks Canada website. I was also disappointed that there wasn’t anything specific to Indigenous peoples. Different places to stay, ceremony spots, prayer spots for those who pilgrimage across Turtle Island. Being Mohawk, I was looking forward to sharing prayers with spots along the land. More work to be done, I guess! Thanks again!

Maths Teacher MM

Mother nature at its best , so much more to explore after spending 3 nights in Banff , 2 in Jasper and 1 in Lake Louise

Holly Giampaolo

NEVER SEEN SUCH STUNNING BLUE WATER IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. Wonderfully preserved natural beauty and so many fun activities to do. Highly recommend coming out to visit BANFF and enjoyed free park fees because of celebrating Canada's 150th anniversary!

Iris Ph

One of my most favorite places on earth. Gorillamoves.ca We travel here all the time

Cheryl Harkin

Shuttle buses to lakes and trail heads are difficult to find and not frequent enough. A lot of summer traffic - I hope the park can add more signs and buses. It’s a stunning and beautiful area.

Vikram M.

My favorite Canadian national park all time. Beautiful place to visit at least once in a lifetime.

J

Banff is one of my favourite places when I lived in Calgary or my many trips there for vacation living in MB. 14 hours 3 provinces later I made it to Banff Alberta. The scenery is breathtaking to say the least. No matter how many times a person sees the mountains they fall in love all over again. I wanted to be like one of the locals while I stayed there for 2 weeks so I stayed at Banff Caribou Lodge at the edge of town. Well after the 10th trip walking downtown what was I thinking. I loved every minute walking & getting all the fresh air. Left my vehicle at the hotel & saved on gas. There are many quaint places to shop or browse, along with restaurants to dine at. I was able to visit many interesting spots such as Lake Minnewaka, Johnson Lake, Lake Louise, Tunnel Mountain, Hoodoos, Banff Hot Springs, Banff Gondola. One morning I booked spa day for myself at the Red Earth Spa. What an experience and half. I was so relaxed at the end of the session it was worth every penny & than some. I hope you enjoy my foto’s as much as me. Cheers ????

Tyler Tocker

Banff is such a beautiful and amazing experience. There are so many things to see and do whilst visiting this pristine pice of mother nature. You can kayak, swim in glacier waters, hike, climb, skate, ski and board, take lots and lots of photos. The night life and restaurants are amazing and a must to indulge in. There is so much wild life to take in. But remember that we are in their territory, and not to approach or feed the wild life. Always treat nature and the park with respect. Never leave garbage or footprints. I hope you enjoy this pice of heaven as much as I did.

Tanner Wahl

Glorious outdoors! If you want to see clear blue-green glacier water, paddle into it, or hike around it, this is the place to be! The air is so fresh, and the wildlife is everywhere! You can make impromptu plans to visit the area for the day, but expect to pay a lot for a hotel (or even hostel) in the area, even with prior plans and booking. More than enough parking for any specific site, lake, hike, or river, just remember to buy a National Park Pass if you want to wander in or through the park!

Femi Idowu

Always an incredible park to visit. Beautiful mountains, rivers, lakes and wildlife.

Smith Sark

Well, what can I say. No single review can describe this incredible place. Best to spend at least 1 week investigated this place. Even then, you will bearly scratch the surface. My recommendation is to visit the various visitors centres to find out about the best attractions and latest information.

Danny Estioco

Large streets to accommodate all the tour buses. Has a nice day walking around town. Town is very classy with a large selection of restaurants. There is a medium sized visitor center in town. You have to line up to talk to anyone, but you don't have to wait too long. They can tell you about the area and all the things you can do in and around Banff. I enjoyed the fact that the trail heads are spread all over. It helps disperse people.

Bhavik Dhaduk

One of the most beautiful places in the world. There's plenty to do, whether you want to do touristy stuff or go off hiking on a secluded trail. We were there for 10 days and barely scratched the surface, there's so much to do and see.

Nate S

Beautiful on every way one of those places that u gotta visit.

Aaron R

The most fantabulous scenery! Living in Lower Mainland BC I was worried that I might have been spoiled with magnificent views, but Banff was just exceeded any possible expectations! Make sure to drive along the gravel road to the “three sisters” mountains, float along the Bow River (you won’t believe the colour of it) and go up to the Lake Louise and Lake Agnes for the breathtaking views

Jayshri Jaykumar

One of the best parks I've ever been too! Never been a national park that's so clean, have the best roads and take great care of the campgrounds.

ujjwal goel

Beautiful National Park with a great small tourist town of Banff, relatively unknown Canmore, and great places to hike, climb mountains and just explore the rockies! Theres many hidden gems many people dont know of, but you just need to search online, from waterfalls, canoeing and more, youll love this place!

Kris O'Neill

I drove up to Banff from downtown Calgary and by far the best drive ever. It costs 9 bucks to get into the park, I was able to fly my drone in certain areas and the views, people, the Gondola experience was unbelievable! Banff is a must go to place if you’re in Calgary ????????????

mad fire

Really large park with amazing views. The town has plenty to see as well with shops and food places. There's gondola rides and other attractions and tour guides that can be done. Stayed here for just a weekend. If I were to stay longer I would try doing one of the expedition tours to see more of the park.

Anonymous

We loved Banff and Jasper National Parks. They were fabulous and we especially enjoyed the Canadian Rockies. Banff National Park is called the Crown Jewel of Canada’s National Park System and it is one of the world’s oldest national parks, established in 1885.

Glenn Stephenson

Great place in winter. The roads can be a bit dangerous especially at night and when others don't drive to the conditions. A must visit!

RJ Olson

This place is like no other. You have to see it to understand. The water is so- clear and the colors are not like your expect, such brilliant greens and blues. Though you need to be prepared for all types of weather, especially cold and rain, the views are out of this world no matter the weather. The hikes are spectacular. The people are so friendly. Must must go!

Laura Bosch

Stunning views. Lots to do...Would highly recommend Lake Louise but you need to get there around 8am to guarantee parking esp at the weekend. Banff is a gorgeous town with lots to do...no need to stay there more than a couple of days though! White water rafting on Kicking Horse river was great too. In August views can be limited due to smoke from fires in BC

tom a

This is definitely one of the most fascinating historical sites in Canada and around the world I have ever been to. The beauty mountains, unique pools, the prestigious lakes (like Lake Louise) & the valuable lessons about conservation and research. I will encourage everyone who is able to get to Calgary to visit Banff National Park

Arjan Arenja

Some of the world's most gorgeous spots, maintained intelligently and lovingly by Canada Parks. Lots of publicly managed sights and hiking so you don't have to resort to the pricey and profit-oriented entertainment options. Visitors Center is in the town of Banff and has separate queues for info on the Park and for info on the town. Personnel staffing both were very knowledgeable, bilingual, and helpful.

Adam Lagace

great park; dramatic views and snow fields, tons of hiking and bike routes. the only thing I dislike is that too many people there, unless you go way in, solitude comes in, -- worth to long distance driving

Alok Thakrar

Beautiful and scenic experience!

george balouxis

One of the crown jewels of the Canadian national park systems . What can I say . So many different things to do . We stayed at the Tunnel Village 1 campground ,which has no hook up, but this is the way we like it . There is a sani-dump and drinking water at the campsite entrance , so fill up your water take before you set up your site . We went to the cave and basin, it was worth going to . The cascade gardens are beautiful , but they were doing expansion work on it when we were there . The Bow Valley drive is also a nice 50km drive with lots of photo opportunities

Cozmiclove

If you are traveling the Canadian Rockies I must strongly suggest NOT to start in Banff. Reason being that is so much more beautiful than it's Northside sister, Jasper. You want to have your breath taken away over and over again on a good trip and that would happen starting in Jasper and working South down to Banff.

Johnny Sheils

Beautiful beautiful place! Fresh mountain air, amazing views, great restaurants and so many other places to visit.

Enes Uygun

We were “split board”snowboarding in beautiful snow

dunia terakhir

Banff is super beautiful and I could imagine this place even more beautiful when there is snow on top of pine trees and mountains. Be warned though, it's crowded in summer months and trying to find parking takes forever.

ThatRogueSTEVE

What can I say? This is one of my favourite places on earth. The beauty here is incredible and you can over and over and over again and always find a new trail to explore. Banff National Park is where I go to reset myself and find peace when the world becomes busy and heavy.

Peter Kolejak

The mountains are spectacular! Rogged and pristine looking. The views are inspiring! And of course stopping at Lake Louise is the icing on the cake for this amazingly beautiful area!

Michael Hunt

The park is huge and has hiking/site seeing at anyone's level. The landscape is huge and brilliant. This is a trip I think everyone should take to truly understand our world and how we influence our plant.

N'nette Viezca

Just a great place to visit while visiting Canada. We really enjoyed our time while visiting and stopping for a bite to eat. I have many more pictures to share but need to find them on the computer. So enjoy what I've down loaded and when I come across them they will be added. Also there 3-4 more National parks in the area that we just didn't have time to get to.

Andre Dias

It's one of the most amazing national park I've ever been. Visit the visitor center before planning for your stay if you want to do hiking.

Sajin M S

Been going to Banff since I could remember. My parents took me, and now I'm taking my son. An amazing place that thankfully does not change much. And that's a good thing. 5 stars!!!

Hamid Khodabandehloo

Needless to say the beauty of mountains. We hiked srveral passes and meadows. Stayed at Tall Timbers area . 35 c hot during the day and below zero at night . We stayed in a tent.

Juan Hernandez

This area has some of the most amazing natural beauty I have ever seen. The forest is beautiful. The town is nestled in the middle of a national park. The beautiful lakes in the surrounding area cannot be done justice by photos. The experience was amazing and so much wildlife there. The town is filled with great places to eat and wonderfully friendly locals.

Patrick Lane

Absolutely love this place! The most stunning views. My only concern is the lack of respect people have for the wildlife. People getting out of there cars and were within 2 feet of a bears multiple times. If you see any wildlife while here, please have respect for them and don't intrude their space for not only your safety but theirs.

Zoeline Bonnee

We went hiking up the mountain and wow, elevation is crazy! We had fun and my bff was definitely fitter than me lol. The view of the blue lake as you are walking is amazing and picture perfect ! It's a definite must try.

Sanjeev Mohal

This place was breathtaking!

Ngo Hai Anh

Some of the best scenery in the world.

Moraine lake amazing colours worth an easy hike up .. stay in the Poplar Inn.. walked easily into Banff saved parking hassles

Umer Mansoor

A must do when in Alberta! Mountain views all around you is a fantastic view to wake up to! Great little town with so many things to see and do. Always a great little getaway for the family!

Christian Okwudiwa

Amazing - lots of trails that are challenging but completely worth the hike. I recommend the lake Agnes trail (3 km) take a break at the tea shop then do the extra 1k hike up the little bee hive trail. Amazing views up there and not alot of people go up there. WARNING the trail is all uphill so make sure you're in shape. It's a tough hike for a beginner

Laura Barr

The oldest Canadian national park, Banff National Park in Alberta, is endowed with great natural wealth. Established in 1885, this park is located in the Rocky Mountains region where it protects 6,641 square km of picture-perfect natural landscapes and pristine wilderness. Tourists to the Banff can enjoy their stay at some of the world-class resorts in the area. Mountain climbing, trekking, kayaking, wildlife watching, etc., are some popular activities that tourists to Banff can enjoy.

David Tavares

Great scenery, convenient road access (via Trans Canada Highway #1), and Canadian hospitality. The only downside is huge crowds during the summer season, visit during June or September to avoid them. Oh, and don't forget the three major ski hills (Sunshine, Louise, and Norquay).

Roman Siromakha

One of the most beautiful places in all of Canada! This aqua blue lake surrounded by the mountains is truly a sight to behold! It's a 2hr drive from Calgary and parking may be a bit of a challenge depending on when in summer you go. It's open all year and looks just as majestic in winter. A definitive must see if you are vacationing in Alberta.

Kelsey Gibby

Beautiful drive. One part of canada you dont want to miss out on. Great photos, tons of rest stops with parking. Take your time thru here. So many trails abd attarctions to see. ????

Tracie Bratcher

2019 aug trip! Most beautiful place and i wanna go back

Flappy Ducks

A great place to visit. Scenery is stunning across the park. Many trails to hike. The trails around the lakes and to the high view points offer a good workout, and breathtaking views of the clear turquoise, teal and light blue water (depending on the lake and the time of the year). Winters here are beautiful to see and a bit dangerous to experience (especially without appropriate equipment).

jinky TravelDiaries

A perfect place. So much to see and do. So much human history with a charming Banff townsite and Banff Springs the architecture in that setting is just sublime. But obviously it’s the natural wonders that bring the people here. Countless sights all magnificent, one of the prettiest drives in world.

jANsON Potato.

Best in Canada ????

Surbhi Mago

One of the most beautiful places on Earth! The mountains are endless and the drive is easy due to the spectacular views. I would recommend that you stay at Banff town for a minimum of three nights. You can easily drive to points of interests nearby your accommodation, where you may have a chance of seeing Elks. These beautiful creatures may roam near the road so do drive slowly as long as you are not in the way of someone else. I tend to stop aside for other cars to pass so that I can continue the drive slowly. You can also choose to stay near Lake Louise, Lake Moraine, and Emerald Lake. I personally prefer the views on Lake Moraine. If you are a day visitor, note that they tend to close the road leading to Lake Moraine if the car park is full near the lake. 148 If you decide to stay at Emerald Lake Lodge, do note that they do not have wifi or cell reception there! At first I thought it was terrible but you will really enjoy your time taking a stroll or going for the canoe ($70 per hour!!), or even just enjoying your time at your own personal fireplace in your room! If you really need wifi, you can only access it at the reception building. My advise is spend a minimum of 7 nights here in total, but I wish I had more time than that. We went in Mid September 2019 and the weather was so-so. Rains alot so depends on your luck. I highly recommend this place!

Kristen Benge

Lot of cool places to visit within the park. Every single spot is great for photos. Love the mountain view having a cup of coffee from the Downtown. FYI - A group pass cost $9.60 per day.

Choisi Me

Banff is incredibly beautiful and filled with all types of wildlife. From Grizzlies to wolves, moose, mountain goats, down to the cutest squirrels and foxes. The park passes are reasonably priced. Be prepared to spend at least a week or more to check out all of the magnificent scenery and attractions. Banff has so many attractions, we were glad we had planned what we were going to do and see. Check out the hot springs. Very cool but not quite what I imagined. They have been made to look like swimming pools, but nevertheless, relaxing. Downtown is filled with great shops and the people are friendly. From horseback riding to hikes for every ability, this place is a wonder to behold. The Canadian Rockies and the glaciers take your breath away!!!!

Kimberly Brown

I've been in number of parks and Banff is one of the most spectacular parks out there. Magnificent mountains, pristine clear lakes and preserved Spruce and Larch forests. Lake Moraine is stunningly beautiful. Especially around noontime when lake is piercing blue color. You'll get coolest photos ever ???? Dont miss it, must see!

David Stewart

My husband and I just got back from our honeymoon in Banff National Park and are already planning our next trip there. WOW! Everywhere you look it’s like a postcard. If you are an outdoorsy person, there is nowhere better to visit. Hundreds of gorgeous hikes, horseback rides, canoeing, caving, you name it! Seriously absolutely incredible. I wish we could have stayed so much longer. Loved the Ink Pots and all of the other hikes we did there.

Ellen Sheppard

A place that has views to take your breath away. Has trails for both the coach goers and the avid hiker. Not a huge amount of wildlife outside of the squirrels and birds, but keep your eyes open for the bigger stuff tho. Just remember the further your walk the less people will be there. Tip* the car parks for all the major walks fill up around 8 / 8:30am so have a plan on where your going to park.

Peter DeNardi

What a trip decided to rent a car and travel to all the sites tunnel mountain we saw a wolf and Sulphur Mountain view is breathtaking

Leon

One of the most beautiful Parks I have ever been too! Allow yourself plenty of time to explore and take in the beauty. Wildlife is plentiful, just keep your distance and let them be wild.

Luke Davenport

Gondola was 10 minutes of beauty, lunch and then drinks / nosh after hiking up the boardwalk to the top! Takes effort for us non-hikers but well worth it!

Timothy Yeung

The iconic Banff National Park is therapy to the soul! But get there early if you want to park at Lake Louise! Still crazy busy until first snow fall! Come see the seasons change, fall is the best here next to winter bit beautiful year round nonetheless!

Manas Deshpande

Absolutely stunning. Very difficult to drive thru Because you'll want to be constantly looking everywhere but the road.

Nico Angulo

The most beautiful national park I’ve seen so far. You should go in the morning to enjoy the views and lakes before it gets busy as this is the most touristic place in Alberta probably. Moraine lake is probably the busiest and you cannot find a parking spot there if you go in the summer after 7 am. Lake Louise’s parking can get full around 8-9 am too. A lot of adventures and activities to do there; hiking, biking, kayaking, mountain climbing, seeing animals, literally everything. Also downtown is beautiful and full of places to dine and shop for souvenirs and so.

Uttara Shetye

An amazing part of Canada. You should visit it once in your life at least. But if you do, you will keep coming back every time you can.

I K (Kira)

Banff are my favorite Rocky Mountains in North America. Unbelievable beauty. Travel Northwest of Lake Louise of you want to get off the beaten path and really see the wilderness.

Russell Ford

Banff & the Canadian Rockies has a wealth of must-do activities, set amongst spectacular winter scenery.

Hendric Tronsson

Must visit, the gondola ride is amazing all the way to the top. We were blessed with beautiful sunshine and lovely weather making the views all the more memorable

M T

A national park that is totally worth a few days. Nice and blue sees and wonderful hiking trails.

Devan Balgobin

No matter if summer or winter, always beautiful.

Julie Moreno

A dream. Must drive the icefields parkway. Hike to agnes tea house. Take a gondola and splurge on a nice meal. But the mountains are just awesome

Jared Kelsey

What can you say about Banff?? It's one of the most beautiful places on earth. Yes, the summer season is busy and expensive but it's worth putting up with the crowds. I would also recommend trying off peak seasons like October, November, March and April. It's a different experience but still amazing.

Camellia Chen

If you get to Canada you must visit Banff National Park. The beauty is something I can't describe so I'll leave pictures.

Gerry P

What a fantastic national park. From skiing to hiking to biking this park has so much to offer. Great gift shops and restaurants in town and great gondola rides too. The incredible scenery really steals the show. An absolute must visit Canadian National Park.

Ashley Trotter

The review for Jasper National Park that I posted 2 weeks ago has received a lot of attention, which encourages me to write this one, for Banff National Park. Actually they were the same trip, and its primary goal was to see Lake Louise in Banff. There are many beautiful lakes in Banff. Without a doubt, Lake Louise is the most magnificent one. The white mountain peaks surrounding the lake were painted to oranges as the Sun was rising. The lake looked like a perfect mirror, which doubled the beauty. You don’t want to miss this spectacular moment. It is a stunning scenery.

Sajid Decosta

I said OMG 50 times a day. I was so amazed by the beauty. I took hundreds of photos, because the glorious viee changed as the light changed. The air was fresh and invigorating. The water made me want to b move there.

Sterly Deracy

Loved it! There is so much to do in terms of hiking. You need at least a week if you enjoy hiking in the Canadian Rockies!

Omar D

Even though Lake Louise Village was overcast, the snow was falling and it was beautiful. Always so relaxing and you never get tired of the view no matter where you look.

Hugh Genge

Everytime I visit here, the beauty of nature mesmerizes me. Beautiful lakes and camp grounds surrounded by mountains. People travel from across the World and I have been so lucky to be residing close to Banff, less than 2 hours of driving. This is heaven for people who love hiking, camping and nature.

NEIL MOXON

Beautiful. Majestic. Accessible. Breathtaking. Awe-inspiring. People-friendly. US NPS could stand to take a page out of Parks Canada's playbook. Do the Sulphur Mtn. Gondola. Eat at St. James. Eat Saturday brunch at Bow River Grill. Walk the city trails. See Kootenay Park. See Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. Do it all.

Spencer Rice

In this time of covid our vacations are limited and I'm lucky to live a few hours away from one of the most beautiful places on earth. I had a great vacation in banff took in a few stroller friendly hikes in the city and lake minawanka. Was a great time.

Lacey Humphries

Incredible views! Ride the Banff Gondola up the mountain, you won't regret it. Great hiking trails and the town of Banff is very cute with great shopping. Would live to go back in the spring or summer and see Lake Louise!

Arvin Manipol

Please visit!! Such an amazing experience! I want to live at Lake Louise! We went in mid-May and I was still pretty frozen. Peak time to go per the residents is June and July.

Joel P

The most amazing mountains and most lovely National Park in North America. Period. Banff's beauty is unbelievably astounding. Don't miss the #1 Lake Moiraine, Banff Gondola, Lake Louise, Payto Lake and Icefields Parkway where amazing views are around every corner!

dejager420

What can I say, it's one of my favorite places to go on holidays. So much to see and do and usually so little time!

oluwaseun oluwabiyi

Beautiful in every direction. All the stores in Banff have mostly the same items which is unfortunate but you find the odd shop that has unique items worth a browse. Worth going just to walk the streets honestly.

Scott Wagner

A must visit national park in Canada. We visited in the winter and Banff was absolutely stunning. From what I hear from the locals, it's equally beautiful in the other seasons too. Can't wait to go back and do some summer hikes.

Christine Belin

The most beautiful place I’ve been so far. The Icefields Parkway and every lake in this park is postcard worthy. A photographer’s and nature lover’s holy grail. You can’t go wrong visiting this pace. It should be on everyone’s bucket list.

Ri-chA azotaM

This is a must see bucket list item! Obviously you should already know about it. If you haven't been, make the trip out, it's surreal! Please maintain the clean environment Calgary/Banff/Alberta has worked so hard to maintain, for us and the ones to come!

Joko T

Gets really crowded during the summer. Everyone should at least go here once in their life even though everything is expensive here. There are plenty of trails for hiking with great views of mountains and the air is really fresh. You must visit Lake Louise and Bow River. They don't allow drones here which is shame since the scenery is just incredible.

Sara Tavakolian

Banff and Moraine Lake was our destination driving cross country from southeast Georgia. It did not disappoint!

Basma Ty

I recommend it for nature lovers, I have never seen nature in all its beauty before. The city of Banff is well equipped with everything you might need, hotels lodges restaurants, guided tours.etc.

Nancy Treadgold

When we arrived Banff, it's snowing and the snow is pretty big. We have seen the most beautiful lake with the snow, the lake is soo blue, incredible!!!! There are many tourists in Banff than Jasper national parks, Banff is the hot spot of the rocky mountain, and it developed more than Jasper, its a wonderful place to starting know about the rocky mountain,.

Mark Nicholson

Everyone says it's beautiful so I'll let the assumptions be and just say there comes a point when your staring at the scenery and you identify and connect souls with a range that moves you so much you want to cry. That might be from some wine but the feeling was true enough. Every mile gives you a new perspective from the most breathtaking rocks you'll ever see.

Corin Hoskins

Am sure many have used words like beautiful, lovely, and amazing. It is, no doubt about it. Crystal clear lakes, Icefields, wildlife...it all speaks to your inner self refreshing your joy at seeing the world around you. The dismay at seeing the damage done by the beetle infestation was tragic. Changes to the landscape are happening.

Anne wang

Banff national park is a Canadian treasure. Surreal views amongst the giants of the Canadian rockies on the border of British Columbia and Alberta. Amazing skiing and fun villages nestled into the mountains. A must see for all

ddavuluri1

I love this park. The mountains are breathtaking. We went out to Lake Louise on this trip. It was cold but we had a wonderful time. We even hiked to Mirror Lake. Then finished the day at Lake Moraine. A terrific day.

sean tseng

Remarkable trails, jaw dropping views, a lot busier than Jasper so you might want to wake up early for the more popular places such as Lake Moraine (with they limit entrance, get there before 8h30) and Lake Louise. Don't miss the canyons and the Parker Ridge trail.

Paul Silverstein

I consider myself lucky to experience the most beautiful mountain valley in the world. Banff is just a literal demonstration of having a price of heaven on earth. The lake between two blue mountains is a view worth dying for. Can't wait to go back there again someday.

Hossai Masroor

This is the Havana!! Amazing lack!! Very beautiful to see in your life!

Juan Jose Arroyo

Beautiful. Makes sure you do the Icefield Parkway drive between Banff and Jasper. Do it on a clear late spring day! You will love it. So many things to go do. Hikes, walk, biking, kayaking and many more

James Duncan

I will always keep coming back to this place... I will never get tired of its beauty. There's a whole bunch of activities that you can do such as hiking, camping, cycling, running, walking, dining in downtown Banff, going to the top for an amazing and breathtaking views of the mountains, rafting, snowbaording, kayaking, skiing, water tubing, etc...

Debora Moraes

So glad to see this wonderful place! Proudly CANADIAN!!! I’ve seen pictures and knew what to expect, but to see it first hand is absolutely amazing. I was awestruck the whole time!!

Jeevan Yerraji

Excellent views, activities and attractions are all close at hand in this resort town. Restaurants, shopping and natural landscapes of breathtaking mountains are all around. It's a Must See place

Sergey Demidov

You can see spectacular views of Rockies mountains. And you will know there must have a creator to design these beautiful nature for us. Please come and enjoy everything by your own.

Nikita Ahmed

Wonderful vacation spot. Lots of hiking trails and things to do. Something for all ages. Make sure you pay attention to the weather to plan your trip well and bring appropriate gear.

Mark Hallman

This park deserves all the hype it gets. To me, this park is perhaps the most beautiful part of Canada, and I routinely tell friends from outside of the country that if they are to visit Canada in a short time span and want the authentic Canadian experience, they should either go to 1 of 2 places: Atlantic Canada or Banff National Park.

Ponasen Pather

One of the most stunning places I’ve seen on this earth so far! We used Hop On Banff to access all major high points of the park like Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, Johnston Canyon & more!

Stacey Edwards

We always love going there. The is no other place I would say is so beautiful and breath taking then Banff. We go as much as we can living so close. Of you get to Calgary it's only an hour and half away. Don't miss it!

Brendan Gardner

Always beautiful, I don't mind a work trip here for the day.

Yaroslav Khudych

Absolutely Beautiful, most scenic drive in Canada. Don't stop here, I highly recommend going to Jasper National park after.

Mme. Angel

Banff National Park is the Switzerland of North America. It is absolutely gorgeous and should be on everyone’s bucket list to visit during the summer and winter seasons. I’ve visited during the winter and the scenery is breathtaking. I cannot wait to revisit during the summer months. If you do plan on visiting a couple times a year and staying within the park for more than 5 days, it is more worth it to purchase a year pass rather than daily pass. The yearly pass also grants you with free tickets to certain museums.

Ahmad Ayub

What can I say that is not already been said. This place is beyond amazing. We only spent a couple of days here and I wish we had spent at least a week. We hiked from the hotel at Lake Louise to the Tea House (2100m) then on to 6 Glaciers Lookout and then far beyond that. It was cold and rainy and the terrain was rough and I was in absolute heaven. This is a trip that I will definitely make again

Eduardo Fonseca Arraes

Banff national park is one of my favorite parks of all time. The small town is a little touristy and full of shops but the surrounding area no matter where you go off the beaten path is beautiful. I got perfect weather and hiked Mt. Rundle which was at the top of my list. The alpine lakes and Caskade Mountains are simply out of this world beautiful. A road trip here won't disappoint your free spirit it's breathtaking!

Tim Sluis

One of the most beautiful places I have ever travelled to! Amazing mountains with huge peaks, quaint little towns situated in valleys, lakes that are the most spectacular colors of blue, and tons of wildlife! Banff is a must on anyone’s bucket list!

Sushil Bhattarai

Only an hour from Calgary. This is one of the most precious gems Canada has to offer. Visit Banff and stay for a while... if you don't have the time but are visiting Calgary... take the time to drive the hour and visit Banff, its breathtaking . Banff National Park is perfect for any occasion. This should be on everyone's bucket list.

Jacqueline Telljohann

Honestly one the best locations you can go and be in a majestic nature, mountains are graceful, my favourite one is *Castle* mount( uploaded a photo of it), spectacular lake Louise with great trails and beautiful road between Banff to Jasper which can be described as a road to paradise. No wonder why some people go there every year. So many hidden gems!

Leo Cui

Banff is a beautiful park that is NOT overrated. Its special, its beautiful, it’s the quintessential wilderness spot. However, it is commercialized and its popularity has made it extremely crowded. I would not stay in Banff town site. I would only stay near Lake Louise. The wilderness is stunning, the iconic spots are iconic for a reason and a trip here is absolutely worth it. Just take the time to head up to Jasper and/or over to Yoho or the other parks in the Rockies!

Lesley Ye

Banff National Park (established 1885, 6,641 km 2) is Canada's first and most visited National Park. Its eastern gate is located approximately 100 km west of Calgary in the Rocky Mountains, and stretches 240 km along the eastern slope of the Continental Divide.

Ryan Kundert

Amazing Park! Just stay out of the busy areas! The scenery in the park is amazing but the town and the lake Louise area are just to crowded. Moraine lake looks beautiful but parking lot was full at 6:30, lake Louise is busier than a NYC street (seriously), and the town of Banff had some of the worst traffic I've experienced. Now the rest of the park is a pure joy! Helen lake is an all time favorite, Parker ridge is the best view for effort in a hike I have ever done. Just stay away (or get there very early like before 6 am) the busy areas and you will love Banff.

Vera Sedinova

The best park in Canada . The nature at its best.

Guido Ciardullo

Stunning region, recommend going early in the morning (7am or so!) If you're driving even earlier is better If you're in the area, it's a can't miss

Crapstick

Can say enough about this place. Take a drive and be prepared to take detours every 20-30 minutes as there are tons of hiking trails and water falls just off the side of the road. Do some Google research and find the best trail that suits you and your goal. Balu pass was a good day hike and starts right from the parks center.

Sarada. Neeli

I travel quite a bit and rarely say this but, Banff is out of this world.. Every where you turn you are left breathless! A must-see, bucket list place. I will 112% be back in Banff !

Ali Abbas

One of my favorite places to visit. So many things to see. You can spend a day here and that would just scratch the surface.

Sarah Stevens

Banff National Park is famous for its surreally coloured lakes, majestic mountains and endless outdoor adventures. Canada’s first national park and the world’s third, it has a rich heritage as one of the world’s most awe-inspiring mountain destinations.

René Fournier

Of course it’s the most famous picture on Instagram as the photo dose this place no justice. Stunning for sunset and sunrise. Banff has so many amazing hikes around the area with stunning area views of mountains and valleys. Definitely a favourite. Instagram is cb_kirkby for more adventures around the area

Tina Muller

Great hiking on the Eiffel trail. Take wind breakers weather changes fast. Good hiking boots and trekking poles are really helpful. Still some snow to cross last week.

Guy Peled

In a word ..HEAVEN!! Last visited Sept 2012... ????....Visited again in 2016.. never gets old- LOVE THIS PLACE!!!...**Updates .. Here we go again!! October 2018 ..We just can’t get enough!! ..There is always something new to do!! ..Love you Banff!!????????❤️

Mav Mav

What can I say? A gemstone in the province of Alberta at just 1.5h west of Calgary. The town of Banff is very busy all year around but if you go for a (long) hike on the many trails you'll get the peace and quiet that you're looking for. Some of the trails are not suitable for little kids.

Subscribe2me I'llsubscribe2u

One of the most beautiful parks of the whole world. Huge in size with numerous lakes with clear blue to emerald waters surrounded by sharply rising rocky mountains ( Among others Minnewanka, Louise, Moraine, Emerald, Bow, Peyto, Herbert, and Waterfowl lakes). There are many impressive raging waterfalls like Athabasca, Sunwapta, and Tangle Creek Falls. Not to overlook the Colombia Ice-field and Athabasca Glaciers, and Sky Walk. Wild life is abundant and you are likely to see mountain goats, elks, Colombian ground squirrels and possibly black bears. Banff Village itself is also an elegant small nice town. Simply the views in this park are so stunning and beautiful. Entrance fee is about 9 Canadian Dollar per day.

Abhishek Chaudhary

Banff is Heaven on earth. It really it, nothing higher, nothing greater, nothing more beautiful than Banff and its majestic mountains, turquoise lakes and rushing waterfalls and never ending rivers. Its such peace to go here coming from a never sleeping city. I promise you this, a visit to Banff is a visit to Heaven, without the side effects of being dead.

Victoria C. U.

Had fun

Jeff

It's beautiful! There is something for everyone: hiking, boating, river rafting, golf, shopping. Banff Springs was crazy on Victoria Day, but otherwise not too crowded for a tourist area. The locals are very friendly and you will find a large population of Aussies (along with other accents, lol)willing to give ideas of what to do and things to see.

Nick Taylor

I'd give this a 6 out of 5 if it's possible. What an amazing place to visit and I can't believe it took so long for me to finally get here. Only downside is it's quite touristy, logistics are not great.

Tara Stoppa

The sights are breathtaking of the mountains and lakes. The hot springs are basically a heated outdoor pool (overrated) and full of chlorine and no sign of trace minerals. Apart from that negative there was another positive... the town is so picturesque and the people are so friendly it looked and felt like we were dropped in a movie set. So beautiful I would definitely recommend this place. Well worth the stop. We spent the day looking around the sights and shops

Ryan v

BANFF - purely mesmerizing national beauty spot. It is truly one of the most incredible places in the world. Loved every bit of the visit. Mountains and wildlife everywhere you look. It's so magical. No amount of words can describe the majestic landscape and no combination of pictures can take the place of how truly amazing it feels to the eyes while actually witnessing it.❤️????

Kite Vy

Banff is absolutely stunning and beautiful. Every time I go it leaves me speechless! No matter if its winter or fall, or spring or summer, there is always something for everyone to do, including hikes and lakes and restaurants ! Amazing. My recommendation is also to stop by lake louise to get an even better mountain experience !

Albin Jojo

I could write lots of poetic words here, but they won't adequately represent the Canadian beauty Banff. If you're in the area, why aren't you visiting Banff? If you're reading this and have yet to visit Banff, stop making bad decisions! Come see the magic for yourself!

Riyaz Hasan mishu

Most amazing trip ever! Gorgeous vistas and an abundance of things to do and see. Must see items are the hot springs, riding the Banff gondola to the top of Sulfur Mountain, taking a day trip to Lake Louise and hiking to the plain of six glaciers. There is a tea house there and though the lake agnes tea house is known to be more popular, I thought the trail to plain of six glaciers was little less arduous and more rewarding (better views the whole way). Also, driving the icefields parkway towards jasper national park is a must and touring the athabasca glacier too. We didnt set aside enough time but if you can, plan to make lots of stops on the icefields parkway as there are lots of cool places to hike and camp if you can. We didnt make it to lake moraine but also heard it is a must. However, be warned, if you want to go to lake louise or lake moraine, be prepared to go early as the parking lot gets full very very early in the am. Also, in order to get to lake moraine, you have to take a shuttle from lake louise so, again, be prepared to get up early.

Jaspreet Saini

Once in a lifetime experience to visit Banff!

Neil Sarjeant

5stars arent simply enough. Heaven on earth. Well maintained, clean, everything at convenience. Make sure to carry all types of clothing regardless of season if you plan to go hiking

Renee Leslie-Buckhoff

Amazing place. Beautiful lakes and rokies.

Neha Sarraf

As always....a blast. This time we took the wildlife viewing tour. It was alot if fun and we learned more about the various animals inhabiting the park.

Will Gangi

Visited Banff in late April - expect fluctuating weather, from 0 degrees to 16 degrees. It gets hot in the noon but gets really chilly at night. Beautiful lakes and amazing hikes to do

Kimberly BZ

My friends and I loved visiting banff national park. We visited lake moraine, lake louise, bow lake and my favorite Peyto Lake. Later in the night we strolled down to banff downtown and next day we did a gondola ride to the summit of Sulphur Mountian. We had a short trip but I do recommend staying 3 full days for maximum coverage of the park. We went during first week of September and it was chilly outside so we had to dress appropriately as its more colder near the lakes.

Leesa Michelle

Probably the most beautiful place I’ve seen, the wild life, mountains, it’s just incredible. Make sure to visit the obvious to lake Louise. But also, perhaps more importantly- Moraine Lake was the real Gem of the trip. See photos below. Make sure to keep a clean train and don’t feed or Harris’s any wildlife, the rangers are on top of it. Which is great! Amazing place!!

Anna

Beautiful scenery, amazing views, excellent hiking, and some of the best ski resorts in Alberta

Bob Piljay, Realtor

Most beautiful National park I have visited till now. It’s so scenic. You can spend 3-4 days here. There are hot springs which are very soothing and relaxing. I went to upper hot springs in Banff town. There are many nice shops and good food in Banff.

Marcos Hack

The scenery is absolutely stunning, the people are friendly and the food is delicious. It's was a great stay and I look forward to going back.

Ravi Ramdeo

Amazing park! Incredible wildlife crossing system! Breathtaking views The best hot springs ever! The most beautiful and clear lakes Is a place you must visit in your lifetime Rocky Mountains are absolutely beautiful and majestic

Brian Norton

Beautiful. Did two difficult hikes (Cascade Mountain, Mount Rundle) to avoid the crowded places at this time of the year. The smoke from the wildfires was less inspiring but thats the same in the whole region.

Kerry Triner

From Japan :) Everything was breathtakingly beautiful. In summer season, make sure to arrive early at some famous places like Lake Louise, as the parking lot might be fully occupied. Besides, there were more police cars than expected. Safe drive.

justin kochupura

Banff National Park is amazing! The views from the Icefield Parkway are breathtaking! The Columbia Icefields and Lake Louise are a must see. There are so many lookouts and trails you could not possibly do it all in one visit. Beautiful Park!

Janet Li

One of the most beautiful Canadian landmarks.

Blue Ridge Phantom

They should not sell the firewood pkg online for camp site that have a fire ban listed . Otherwise it was beautiful,

Harvey Roasting

Banff is amazing and beautiful. It really does look like a postcard. Lots to see and do and plenty of restaurants and souvenir shops

M. P.

Absolutely beautiful! I could easily post 100 'gram worthy photos! We rode the Icefields Parkway as part of a Harley trip to Alaska and it instantly made my top 5 best rides list. Smooth roads, gorgeous scenery, and great weather in July. A bit crowded in spots, but that's the price for July weather. Definitely worth the side trip!

José Manuel Pardo

Everything about Banff National Park (and it's surrounding areas) is the definition of the great outdoors! Serenity, beauty, calmness and quiet all around. It's hard to NOT find inspiration within the Canadian Rockies!

Sindy Wanna

Superb scenic views Best time to visit May-June or Sept mid if not winter lover Make sure to have enough arrangements if visiting Jasper from Banff (very less gas stations in between)

Marcela Chein

Beautiful Banff National Park in heart of the Canadian Rockies.

Cynthia Beer

Lake Minnewanka Super nice ambiance.. Not crowded look for a better spot to take a picture. Wild animals are on the area so extra careful.

justacupofJOE

This is a great park which you can enjoy watching wild life, mountain hiking, kayaking and so many other things. Also you can visit Yoho, Kootenay, and Jasper National Park after a short drive. All adjoining Banff National park. If you plan visiting several times worth buying an Annual park pass. It gives unlimited access to so many parks in Canada. We found every time we visit it’s different from last visit. Fill your gas tank in town because in places in between towns prices are ridiculously expensive. Also, if you plan to drive towards Lake Louise try taking Bow valley Park way instead of trans Canada high way. Chances are you might see some wildlife like bears, deer etc.

Marcus H!!

It's MAGICAL !!!! Nature at its best!!!! Wild life is so amazing to see!!!! Elk, bears, horses....etc Snow in May!!! Most beautiful place in Alberta!!!

Gerry Ghostrider

Banff National Park has a subarctic climate with three ecoregions, including montane, subalpine, and alpine.

Sabinus Dcunha

Absolutely loved it, I want to go back a truly beautiful place

Jason Mills

Banff was amazing. We had such a short trip, we are already planning to return. We didn't get to do much, but what we saw was majestically beautiful. We highly recommend getting the shuttle up to Moraine Lake. We even took a canoe out on it. It was pretty expensive, but well worth it as it was the highlight of our trip!

Debsubhra Chakraborty

This park is to die for! It’s well maintained and clean. The views are absolutely stunning. There are so many spots to explore. It’s nature at its finest in all its glory! There are lakes, mountains, waterfalls, glaciers, everything! Also got bears!! Such an amazing experience

ahmed alsunni

We love Banff National Park. Purchased a discovery pass. Can't wait to come back and do some more trails! If you're visiting more than a few days, the discovery pass is worth it and helps contribute to maintaining all parks across Canada. The day passes are only worth it if you're staying a couple of days and don't plan on visiting any other Canadian national parks within a year of the pass purchase.

David Lush

Visit for the park's grandeur. Nothing like it elsewhere. Was there on a Friday afternoon. It started to snow by early afternoon so I went for the hot springs first. Weather cleared up so went up Sulfur Mountain in the gondola for a spectacular view of the mountains. Very charming town at the base of mountain.

Sean Miller

Banff National Park is recognized as one of the best national parks in the world, and this is well deserved. The natural beauty of the attractions cannot be overstated. Moraine Lake, Lake Louise, Sulphur Mountain... Those sights never cease to amaze. The developed areas within the park are also very nice. Banff town is especially good to visit, with a wide range of dining options and accommodations. There is a real mountain town vibe you get, without the tourist trap feel. From a management side, I also think that everything is well done. Roads are well maintained, washrooms are immaculately clean, and parks canada just does a really good job making sure the entire visit is enjoyable!

Maria Daniel

Banff is always a great place to visit. Went camping at Two Jack Main for 2 nights and it was great. The campsite was clean and plenty of firewood available. The washroom has flush toilets and is cleaned often. Two Jack Lake itself is great too, but it does get busy, especially on the weekends. Get there by 9:30am if you want to park close, otherwise it's parking on the side of the highway with a little bit of a trek down to the shoreline. Staff is great, especially when dealing with a lot of people during COVID times.

Krystal S

This place doesn't belong here. It's beauty is nothing like you will ever get to see anywhere else. The only other place which I feel is little close to Banff would be my Ladakh trip.

Alexander Proschofsky

No words for the beauty of this place

Craig Hamill

Absolutely stunning place, if you get the chance to visit, please do. You will not be disappointed. A trip up to the top of Sulphur Mountain on the Banff Gondola is a must! If you are taking a drive up to Lake Louise, try Highway 1A rather than Highway 1, which will give plenty of stunning views and scenery, as well as the possibility of seeing wildlife such as Elk, Deer, Wolves and Bears.

Karen Jackson

Great place. Extremely cast so be careful not to get lost. It's best to get a day pass. If you are stopping in the park and Rangers find you without a pass they will report you.

LINDA S.

Must go on the gondola! Lots of easy walking. The cave and their gift shop are closed Monday's AND Tuesday's. Their clean, washrooms are open, though.

Rajankumar Gohel

I can't really explain this place. But it's amazing. The views, the trail's, the people and the food are just World class. This is a place you should go if you are road tripping through the British Columbia. There are hotels but I will recommend to stay in a hostel in order to get to know new people.

Jill Pero

Once in a lifetime vacay at Banff. Gorgeous views everywhere. 50shades of blue water , wildlife gazing, long drive to Jasper . Just have to do it again .

P W

Banff National Park is a very beautiful and picturesque park especially if you love nature and the outdoors. Banff National Park was established in 1885 and is 6641 square km in size. It has many attractions to see and do. There is some thing here in park for people of all ages. I have been here many times over the years growing up and some of my favourite attractions and things to do have been touring and sightseeing the town of Banff, downhill skiing at sunshine Village and Lake Louise ,cross country skiing the Great Divide Trail, hiking Johnson canyon both summer and winter , hanging out at Lake Louise and it’s hotel the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise ice skate on the lake and seeing the ice sculptures as well as Seeing the the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. These are just some of the many things in this park too do or see. Make sure to have a camera on you cause there is many opportunities to get some great photos and you will probably even come across some wildlife as there are many animals in Banff National Park. I always enjoy the park when I am here and would enjoy doing some other adventures here I haven’t done yet. Hope to come back here soon.

Lani Donahue

The most beautiful place in the WORLD!!!! This place is amazing it's so beautiful. Everywhere you look you have unbelievable views just the drive was amazing. Extremely recommended. Bring a jacket it gets cold

Hinu Hinu

One of the best place to visit when you're in Alberta. Banff is very beautiful surrounded by Canadian Rockies. The small town of Banff is wonderful.

Hussan Sharma

Beautiful place Nature at it's best Various types of recreational activities available like skiing hiking kayaking rafting etc. Small market with variety of gift items Every moment is worth of enjoyment Cool breeze Pure water

Pavel Yakov Aceves

So so beautiful!! Incredible amounts to see and gorgeous landscapes! Lineups were quite long for waterfall viewings but to be expected i guess! Long hike so definitely recommend bringing a bag with some snacks and water! Also use the bathroom before hand as there is none along the way!

Julian Vaca

Absolutely stunning park. You can book a shuttle for the most popular lakes, moraine and Louise, for a good price and it is very convenient leaving every 15 minutes. Excellent hiking options available. This national park should be on everyone's list.

Stephanie Stewart

This is the most beautiful place. You will enjoy every single bit if you plan ahead. Worst to spend every single minute there.

Sophia Ahmed

I only have one comment to make. It is breathtaking!! Such beauty right at home!

Michael Rounding

The tourist center in Banff is very helpful in giving you the best experience in the park. They give out hiking maps and will recommend the best trails for this particular day. They recommended the Stanley Glacier hike for us, and we were not disappointed. The nature is beautiful and the views are stunning. Overall a great experience.

Houda mad

One of the most beautiful places on the earth! 10 dol per day per person or 40 dol for the family/car and when you enter a park, at the gate where you buy the pass they ask how many days you will stay and which parks you will visit, and the same pass is for all federal parks.

Luísa Alvarez

Beautiful area. Beautiful views of the mountains and lots of wildlife. Many hiking spots. The roads through Banff seem to be more busy. People drive a little faster through here than they should, especially with the wildlife around the sides of the road. Saw grizzly bears crossing the road and mountain goats. Lots of Elk also. A must visit for anyone. Love it here and will be back again in the near future!

Andre Zhang

Driving through the mountains was an experience on its own! The entire place is filled with beautiful parts of nature I'd never get to experience in Toronto. I would love to come back sometime in the future!

Jonathan Lao

The view is amazing, the town has a relaxed feel to it with all the shops and places to eat. Everyone is friendly and helpful. This should be on your list of places to visit!

Wayne Smith

Banff is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen in my life! We had a road trip from Saskatoon to Calgary, Banff, Jasper, and Edmonton. Lake Louise, Morain Lake and Johnstone Canyon are my favorite places. In our way from Banff to Jasper we encountered many amazing wild lifes including black bear, grisly, mountain goats and elks! I have attached some photos!

C B (CollyDoo)

There are no words to really describe this place, there aren't enough stars to rate it. It's unbelievable, life altering beauty you'd be hard pressed to experience anywhere else. You can close your eyes and point your camera in any direction and come away with a stunning picture.

Topher Ellis

favorite place to go all year round, stunning view everywhere. Many locations don't have cell signals, be aware of it.

Travis Ashe

Spent a lovely couple of days walking in the park. Some easy trails along Bow river, starting in Banff. Also enjoyed the Sundance Canyon trail, Johnson lake, Minniewanka lake and Two Jack lake.

Robert Schlager

Multiple stunning lakes, mountain views, rushing Rivers and waterfalls -spoiled for choices with hiking. Also climbing and water-based activities abound. Would particularly recommend Morraine Lake, Lake Louise hike to the glacier viewpoint (stopping at the tea-house en route), Johnson Canyon (carry on to the inkpots), Bow Glacier Falls, Mistaya Canyon, and Sulphur Mountain (gondola available for those not interested in the 2200ft hike). Stunning views at the top of Sulphur Mountain, and a great visitor center there featuring two surprisingly good restaurants. Hot spring baths at the bottom are cheap and a fun way to ease aching muscles. Start early in the day to avoid crowds.

Gor Baranao

Great hiking spots, gift shops, and sights. Simply beautiful.

Stanley Fu

Absolutely breath taking views! Definitely want to go back! Downtown Banff was a treat anyone can shop or dine here.

Ida Li

This place is like a large piece of heaven on earth. God bless them for leaving this place so untamed and untouched. I have to return here in the summer months. The people are so friendly and love the gift they have been given. Words can not describe the levels of beauty and magnificence that abound here. I will be back.....many times. Thank you Canada.

hamed ashtari

An absolutely beautiful and enchanting place. The mountain views are spectacular. There are many walking trails and horseback riding, rafting, and even golf are all available around the delightful town of Bamff. This is a must visit park. Plenty of wildlife. Lots of deer and elk. Didnt see any bears but they are there.

michael smith

You must visit the elegant park.

Thushara Jay

Iconic National Park set in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Great place to visit if you enjoy outdoor activities. Lots of opportunities for hiking, camping, and getting out into nature.

Mia Pacey

I loved this place because of breath taking ice mountains and small water falls pine trees and wild animals

Chai Kouch

One of the best places ever seen I will try to back again and see more You will enjoy each moments you are spending there and want time never passes

Confused traveler

What a beautiful view. A bit of difficulty for parking although there are two levels and you get your turn easily. The hike trail is about 2 hours one way and the view on top is mesmerising. Sky bistro on the top via gondola is also an option. After 7 the gondola is for FREE. Don't worry, no fear of bears, just enjoy your beers after the hot spring right at the bottom

Olivier H.

A must-visit place! Pictures include atop the peak via the Gondola, Lake Minnewanka, and the Banff Canoe club!

Paul Noel

Banff Gondola was an amazing experience.... Beautiful and a great place to visit and explore. The downside - the Lunch buffet at the sky restaurant was a nightmere, it cost 27$ and anything packaged like bottle water, juice are extras ... the food was tasteless and the chicken poorly steamed - look gross... I have a picture attached. Asides the food it’s a nice place to be! Make sure you purchase your meals downtown Banff...

Rachel Hofsink

An absolutely breathtaking experience. The Rockies are beautiful and make you feels small. Once you summit one of these beauties, you feel like you’re on top of the world!!!

Jeanne Rogers

It's an amazing hike and beautiful scenery. The stops at the Tea House was simply breathtaking. Parking was a bit rough but get their early to avoid the crowds and the busses. Bring plenty of water and food for the trail.

Uv Rai

Lake louise hikes never dissapoints you...just be aware that it us a but tough for first timers..its kind of between moderate to expert..but very scenic at the top...definately recommend it

David Frank

It's the niagara falls of the Canadian Rockies but you have to see it! The area is gorgeous and a must see for all. Just make sure to keep driving to Jasper... now that is a spectacular area and a total must see in the Rockies. If you have yet to be to this area, get off your but and get going... what are you waiting for! This is a must do trip for anyone, the drive here is amazing with crazy views everywhere... side note if you see people pulled over with hazards on this is the sign for Animal in view deer, goat, bear and the like so pull over turn on the four ways and enjoy... JUST STAY IN YOUR CAR PEOPLE!

Claudia Reyes

Always a fun time in Banff. Now with Canada 150's free park entry, things are a little too touristy for my liking. Grateful to live so close to this beauty though.

David Brown

Incredible scenery. Loved exploring the Canadian Rockies. Accommodations were extremely expensive even during a pandemic summer.

Jarett Schneider

Amazing place to visit - such beautiful views of nature and so much to see (stay several days!) Bring a foldable jacket - I went in August and the weather here changes every five minutes (rain, cold, hot, etc) especially between the base and top of each mountain.

Coach Conway

One of the most beautiful places on earth! So many incredible sites to see. Very busy in summer time but also plenty of hikes to get away from the crowds. Johnston Canyon, Lake Louise and Moraine Lake are an absolute must if travelling here.

Jacob Sneek

Banff is one of our stops from our road trip to Ontario and an overnight stay is not enough to visit Banff National Park. If you want to enjoy the view and no "photo bombers" try to walk around early morning, like 6am! There are already restaurants offering breakfast meals and coffee shops too.

Timtwoface (Timtwoface)

Had a nice Mtb ride at lake Minnewanka. The trail is only open to bikers during certain times of the year so be sure to check before you ride.

Jeremy Andrews (JAwebcom)

This amazing piece of earth just cannot be described in just a few words. It's something one needs to experience to understand. The Banff NP offers endless number of hiking trails of all levels. Also Banff town itself is totally worth to visit as it's a lovely alpine town located in the valley between the rocky peaks and its hot springs is a nice bonus after a long day outdoors. If you ever think of visiting Canada this is a place you want to go to.

Jessie Mo

Gorgeous place, downtown is lovely and they have a shuttle that goes all over. Prepare to drive further into the park for their picturesque lakes.

Girish Borkar

Amazing park! Winter or summer, always plenty of things to do! You'll fall in love with Lake Louise. If yo go on summer you need to be there really early since there is limited parking space. Banff, the town, is beautiful also, small but very convenient. The highway to Jasper is another attraction, plenty of lakes and wonderful landscapes

Rong Xu

Just beautiful. Everywhere you look something scenic catches your eye. Then there's the bonus of wildlife. Cold and frozen, sunny and warm, dark or light. It doesn't matter. Just enjoy it. Roads are easy and well signposted.

Jake Hansen

Beautiful !! You can see the breathtaking scenery, wildlife, mountains, river, trees... amazing !! You have to see that :)

Rafal Kusiak

The park is spectacular. We went in early spring and the bears were just waking up. I recommend the hike up tunnel mountain if you are looking for an easy/moderate hike. It only takes about three hours round trip.

Romesh Persaud

Banff is a beautiful park, but after paying for annual park passes for years, our family today visited Lake Louise to take a quick picture and encountered this. Surprise! Parks Canada is blocking all roadway parking leading up to the hotel and has set up a tent at the parking lot charging $11.70 per vehicle. Pretty greedy considering everyone already pays to get into Banff and this parking lot was built 50 years ago and maintained by the Hotel, not Parks Canada.

Manoj Swami

One of the greatest national parks in all of north America. The scenery is fantastic and the drive is really smooth on summer days. There are beautiful little mountain towns spread all around the trans-Canada hwy that you can stop by for lunch, or activities or overnight stay

Charles Wang

Majestic mountains and beautiful drive through this park. So may things to see including Canmore, Banff and Lake Louise.

A-Game

This is the most beautiful place on Earth. Crowded during the warm months, but easy to find solitude if you want it.

Jim Arnold

The icefields parkway is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. Nothing truly compares.

Irene Gibson

Holy smokes this place is amazing. Wife and I went just for a couple nights and it was awesome, but we could have kept exploring for another week or two. We stayed in Johnston's Canyon, which was nice and very clean. One thing to note: there is a very active train track running next to the campground (we were in site 117) so you will be hearing trains at all hours of the day, but it didn't hamper our experience any. If you're a train nerd it may well enhance your experience! But if you're a very light sleeper, try and get a site farther back from the tracks. Johnston's Canyon trail was beautiful even though it was fairly crowded. Early in the morning might have a little less foot traffic. We did the upper falls trail and it was definitely worth the extra km walk. Definitely attend the theatre show if they have one while you're here. It's pretty kid-oriented but it's short and fun and adults will learn from it (it covers important topics about stewardship and being a good park visitor). Two points about wildlife: 1: Mind the speed limits within the park as they are all set with wildlife territories in mind: if it feels like a 50 zone, but it's marked as a 30, chances are that's because some critter makes a habit of darting out in that area. And 2: If you find yourself wondering "where are all the animals?" because you haven't seen anything other than a squirrel or bird, take a slow meandering drive just after sunrise when it's still really quiet out and watch for wildlife either from the road (put a spotter in the passenger seat so the driver can watch the road) or from one of the many lookout areas next to the road. Speaking of those lookouts, if you see a sign with a little stylized "e" like the Internet Explorer logo, pull over and check it out! It's an exposition area and might be a history lesson, an area to see or learn about a specific species, or a small trail that you can do in 15-20 minutes. Park staff are awesome, happy to answer questions, and easy to find. You can tell how much effort goes into keeping this park wild and beautiful, and it's really something to behold.

Natalie J

Many are unaware of these beautiful gardens tucked behind the old government building just across the bridge on Banff Avenue. The flowers, water features, peaceful pathways and benches have been restored to their original beauty after the 2013 flood. A 'must see' sight in Banff!

Bayne Balaski

Gorgeous! Even with construction around Lake Louise it was quick and easy to get around. Parking did say it was full but there was actually plenty of room.

Lea Hancock

One of the most beautiful places in all of Alberta. So many amazing hiking trails, walking trails, lakes ( peyto, ohare etc) . Always busy in the summer but still enjoyable. Lake Louise has amazing dining at Post Hotel and in Banff lots of great food. Roam bus is very accessible and goes to lake louise and canmore every hour. Love Banff!

Nick M

Awesome place! Better go there in June, if you want to see all these incredible lakes. As we were in May and everything was frozen. And like 15 cm snow in mountains.

Oakwood Welsh

What an awesome national park! I will say, the crowds are pretty bad, but if you do some more serious hikes, you can get away from most of the tourists. We saw: Johnston's Canyon, Bow Falls, hoodoos, Stewart Canyon, Lake Louise, Lake Agnes (Mirror Lake), Plain of Six Glaciers, Lake Moraine, Eiffel Lake, Herbert Lake, Bow Lake, Peyto Lake, and Mistaya Canyon. My favorites were Plain of Six Glaciers, Lake Moraine, Eiffel Lake, Herbert Lake, and Peyto Lake. This was closely followed by Mistaya and Johnston Canyons. Parking in the Lake Moraine and Lake Louise area fills up quickly. We got to both just after 6 am and managed to get a spot but I think both were full before 7. You can park in the overflow lot and take the shuttle, but this will definitely add some time. There are tons of other hikes that we didn't have time to do. The hiking here is not for the faint of heart. As you would expect, the easier the trail, the more people there will be on it. We stayed in Canmore instead of Banff and this was a great decision. It was less crowded, had better food, and was cheaper. It's only about 20 minutes south of Banff. Come for the blue lakes, stay for the mountain views.

Genevre Mousseau

After years of dreaming of coming here I finish managed to do so. I was astounded by the sheer magnitude of the mountains placing themselves in the background of our everyday view. With the wildlife, city, scenic view and sky always a blistering beauty, I have never seen a national park quite as beautiful before. A trip that I will never forget, I recommend this to anyone who wants a change of view from general city life. The only issue would be that the prices of shops around the park are increased but the hikes and trails were incredible.

Jason Yee

Banff rocks. I think this is one of the most amazing places to go in Canada, for any season. The people are friendly, the environment is amazing and their is plenty to do here any time of year. If you comr from outside the country or are touring a friend or relative from out of country around, come to Banff.

Kathy Wiens

Beautiful views of mountains and lakes, well staffed and helpful workers. Lots of wildlife. Get up and get going early to beat the crowds!

Irwan Marroc

Banff National Park (French: Parc national Banff) is Canada's oldest national park and was established in 1885. Located in the Rocky Mountains, 110–180 kilometres (68–112 mi) west of Calgary in the province of Alberta, Banff encompasses 6,641 square kilometres (2,564 sq mi)of mountainous terrain, with many glaciers and ice fields, dense coniferousforest, and alpine landscapes. The Icefields Parkwayextends from Lake Louise, connecting to Jasper National Park in the north. Provincial forests and Yoho National Park are neighbours to the west, while Kootenay National Park is located to the south and Kananaskis Country to the southeast. The main commercial centre of the park is the town of Banff, in the Bow River valley. 4$ for the shuttle bus from the parking..go early if you don't want to wait a long line up. Just breathtaking!!!

Will Stein

Without a doubt among the best places on the planet for scenic Nordic skiing - even at -30°! (Yes, that was anomalously cold.) The Spray River trail is beautiful and serene. Highly recommended.

Sherri S.

I love this place???? world’s most beautiful place⛰????

Praveen Parameshwaran

Great place to take a walk and get a couple of good pictures

Ryan Samuels

amazing mountains. plenty of alpine lakes and forests. beware gets very crowded in Aug so plan ahead and beware some spots will have no parking left.

Jasmeen

What a wonderful way to spend time with the family! Banff is by far the most beautiful place you'll travel to anytime of the year, sure Hawaii is great with the beaches and warm weather, but Banff is a completely different experience, exploring nature and seeing the wildlife will absolutely open your eyes to how amazing this country we call home is. The parks Canada staff is amazing and they do a fantastic job, I'm not sure how much they get paid but for all they do I can assure you it isn't enough!

Brad Parks

What can i say that the photos dont already show. What an awesome experience i had traveling through Banff. It's mid June and there's still snow on the peaks of the mountains. People are so friendly and the town of Banff is a tourist haven with so much to see and do. Make sure to buy your vehicle pass the moment you get into Banff from either direction and be careful of the wildlife around while driving.

Savannah Lord

Awesome area to spend a day or more. I parked in a nearby parking lot and went on a hour hike up to Lake Louis. There is a shuttle program that takes you around to all 3 lakes for free.

Adam

Beautiful park with so much to do! Lake Louise is a classic, but my favourite was lake Moraine. A must visit if you get the chance! Moraine is only open in some parts of the year (summer months), and parking fills up very quickly. When I went, however, my friend and I were able to pay for a shuttle (that operates out of the overflow parking lot about 5-10km before the village that leads to Louise/Moraine). This was about 15$, if I'm not wrong, and came with a 10% discount for use at the canoe rental/food store at the lake itself, which we took advantage of!

Ghayoor Chaudhry

Two Jack's is a great camping site... lots of cover for putting up taps...A covered area if weather really bad. washrooms clean ..no showers. Firewood on site. Not far from other areas to visit.

Matt

One of the best places on earth so much love to be able to visit it’s 100% recommended to visit

Mike Von Stein

If you been to Canada and haven't been to Banff, u wasted ur trip. Seriously, this part of the Rocky Mountains is what you don't want to miss. This little town Banff in middle of the most beautiful part of the Rocky Mountains is a wonder on its own. Live the night life in Banff. Every kind of people, travelers, wildlife, party scene, food, u name is, they have it. A must see!!!

Vanessa Zaldivar

Beautiful, there is no words to describe how beautiful this park is, just go there and feel it.

Jamie Ryan

Packed with spectacular scenery, one amazing vista after another. Too many to mention. The best areas in my opinion though are the ones a little off the beaten track as the "classics" Lake Louise, Emerald Lake etc are on the tour bus and RV trail and a peak season are absolutely packed with tourists. Even parking is a huge challenge unless you go VERY early, or late evening.

Ben Liddle

Don't hesitate to come here - COME HERE! Just don't stay for 4 years unless that is truly what you want/need! What a time those 3.5 years were.

Ryan Santos

Fantastic place I must say. The mountains, the lakes? The food? The people? The bears? It's the ideal location both summer and winter. Enjoy your life away with friends and family. It's about a 90 minutes drive away from Calgary.

Marlene Ross

What can I say about Banff National Park that hasn't already been said? It's a legendary park. Fantastic skiing, amazing hiking, biking; it's a magical spot for certain. I've included a few recent photos from my visits to the park; from mountain biking, to gondolas, lakes and skiing - it truly is a world class destination. Some of my favourite things: - the Legacy Trail between Canmore and Banff - 40km round trip, and a perfect opportunity for pizza at the halfway point in either town - Goad Creek trail from the Spray Lakes to Banff on mountain bikes - Skiing at Sunshine, hiking at Sunshine - Mountain biking in the fall at Lake Minnewanka - Watching and photographing Aurora at Lake Minnewanka And there's so much more to explore!!

Kayla Koomans

A world famous place for a reason. Absolutely unforgettable wilderness for everyone to enjoy. Yep, it get super busy, but it's worth it. Places like this remind me why I love this part of the world so much, and I can't take it for granted! The only downsides are that it's so beautiful, it's become quite touristy and hard to truly take in all the beauty without feeling slightly claustrophobic. But! The entire surrounding area is just as majestic, so go explore (on designated trails)!

Steve Jenovai

Banff and Lake Louise rest inside Banff National Park, so there are two things you need to know: this is remote territory and the views are unbeatable. The other thing to be aware of, if you haven’t already guessed, is that this is a paradise for outdoorsy types. Winter skiing is among the best in the world, but during the warmer months, you certainly won’t be hard-pressed to find something to do.

Asad Bin Muhammad

Took the gondola up the mountain at Lodge of Lake Louis. The weather was fantastic and the view was absolutely stunning. This my first time here seeing the mountains this close and I highly recommend it.

Matt C

Banff National Park is Canada's oldest national park, established in 1885. Located in Alberta's Rocky Mountains. Very beautiful place to visit.

Theresa Finley

Took in a couple of the shorter, less difficult hikes around the Cave and Basin. It's simply rejuvenating to be in the mountains breathing that crisp, clean mountain air. There is just nothing like it.

N Hogg

Banff is just a perfect place! We do a lot of hiking so to us, this is paradise! If you have never been to Banff I would check out Johnston Canyon, Lake Louise, Moraine Lake and Peyto Lake.. also the drive from Banff to Jasper is spectacular!

Koreen Freeman

You can definitely view many exquisite landscapes in Banff. It is helpful to print a map of park and follow the "red chair" view points. The "red chair" represents the best (officially) viewing direction of landscapes. If you want to see some wild-lives on roads, 7am to 8 am and 9 pm to 10 pm would be good periods. Good luck!

Peter Liu

Absolutely stunning! Loved that there were viewpoints throughout the park so you could get out and take pictures. Lots of clearly marked hiking trails as well, and opportunities to see wild animals. Pet friendly, too.

Silvana Stoesser

Wow what a lovely place but keep watch the climate before arriving. So that you will not missed the beauty of nature

Brandon Froese

Like its neighbor to the north, Banff National Park is a must visit! Amazing hikes and beautiful scenery! If you want to avoid the crowds, go on long hikes! Most visitors stick to the shorter 3 to 5 kilometer hikes. Also visit Vermilion Lakes at Sunset!

Jason Moran

What a gorgeous drive full of amazing scenery! We had an absolutely magical time. Going up to Sulphur Mountain was well worth it. We had clear sunny weather and went for a hike up there....nothing compares to the quiet and wide open view of snowy trail along the mountain. I'm grateful we wore crampons and had walking sticks and would recommend that for hiking. There is a boardwalk too if you don't want to hike on the trail. We lived walking through the town of Banff and visit the gift shops. (Cascade gifts had reasonable prices.) Parking behind the visitor information was free and most central in my opinion.

Steven Benjamin

If you've never been to Banff National Park than it should definetely be on your bucket list. It can get crowded in summer but the scenerey is one of the most stunning on this planet. Going early is highly advised and also greatly increases your chances of seeing any wildlife.

tracy wutzke

This was a beautiful place! Banff, Canada is full of wonders, no matter what your physical capabilities are. In fact, I went with my Grandmother and still had a great time! The reason why I loved visiting was because it was so natural at its core; The drive across the Icefield Parkway itself is to kill for, with views that rivaled that of the Himalayas. You should also go to Jasper if you are in the area.

Maureen Harrison

Surely one of the greatest places to exist on this ridiculous planet. Not even the busloads of tourists carted in daily from Calgary for a selfie shuffle round Lake Louise can tarnish the overwhelming awe of being cradled in this ribcage of the world. The crown jewel of Canada - a sublime, sacred place. Don't come here.

plumd1

Coming from California, I visited the park, including the town, gondola, and Lake Louise, several times with Calgary friends. It's such a stunning place in all seasons. Just about every time I go to Calgary for a visit, we make a pilgrimage to Banff. You can hike across the middle of Lake Louise in winter although be careful if you do it earlier in the season. One friend and I were in the middle, and both of us had one foot go through the ice into the water. We were talking and not paying attention to conditions. My waterproof boots kept that foot dry. Our host friend was horrified.

Darren Findlay

I love Banff! It has so much to offer in all seasons. A must visit.

Pamela Caraber

A must if you are in Calgary just 1.5 hr drive take your time to visit this beautiful place. It was my 2nd time and I enjoyed it more than the first time. Banff gondola is must

Andrew Burke

I've been to many places around the world and few are more beautiful than Banff (and Jasper) are

Janet B

Just love it. There are so many places to see. A nice get away form the city. Peaceful and relaxing place. A few camp grounds available around this area. You can go for a gondola ride or ride your bike or go for a hike. Absolute heaven.

hippiemomma

Get a RV and spend a week with your family here. Definitely one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited!

Jessie Daye

Pro tip: Make sure to buy your park passes online to save from queuing up at the entrance. On peak times like long weekends you could be waiting up to an hour during the day to get in. Great place to visit anytime of the year!

Banff is great. We camped at two Jack lake in an Otenik. It was great. Too bad we could only stay in it for one night because it was so comfortable. We went into town to visit the hot springs and were so lucky to have 28 degree weather in September. Great trip!

Banff had an amazing view with a lot of different hiking zones. The park staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. A must go and do in Alberta !

Absolutely gorgeous, breathtaking. Every people have to put this place in their bucket list

What to say? This is one of the most amazing places on Earth. Lake Moraine, Lake Louise and Johnston Canyon are the most popular places there so it gets super busy. Get up early (like really early, you need to be on the trails around 7:30 to 8h) if not you won't find parking near these trails. The farthest reaches of the park are located on the Icefields Parkway. It gets less busy there, and if you are driving to Jasper National Park, you must do the Parker Ridge Trail for a spectacular view.

"Very kind staff and amazing atmosphere, not to mention the incredible scenery

Ipshi Sahu

Some much to do and so many wonderful things to see. Plan ahead and give yourself a plenty of time to explore places. It's beautiful during summer and winter!

Rada Mila

It is naturally beautiful. All the views are amazing. A lot of shops and restaurants. Accommodations are expensive, but worth to go there!

Yulia Gorokhovsky

Amazing views. Absolutely stunning

I never get tired of visiting Banff National park, it's a place gives me calmness and peace, there's nothing like this place to compare.

Linda (Lindy)

Simply put, one of the most scenic places in Canada! Loads of activities - backpacking, kayaking, horse riding etc. Louise and moraine lake can get very crowded. Highly recommend helen and bow lake hikes. Icefields parkway is a fantastic drive through the park. More time? Suggest kootenay and yoho national parks which have some pretty scenic trails

This is a bucket list place for everyone. I can promise you that. There is so much to see and do here. You could spend a whole week here and not see it all. This park is a such a unique beauty. Between the mountains, the trails, the trees, and lakes, you will not be disappointed. There are so many breath taking sites. I have been here several times but my recent visit was during the massive wildfires in BC and the smoke permeated the park. It was a bit disappointing but it did bring a different sort of beauty to the park; a definite eeriness. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly but know we have to go back to take in the beauty when the smoke is cleared. We can’t wait!!

Wow! What a place to visit. There is something for everyone. Perhaps you want to tackle some peaks; there are numberless options. Easy hikes? Check. Biking trails? Check. Kayaking or canoeing? Check. Just sitting and enjoying the views? Check. There are many options and the weather in the summer is incredible.

Banff and area is a favourite place to go for summer vacation for my husband and I. Always lots to see and do, great little shops, and excellent food choices. The scenery is stunning.

Beautiful, Incredible, breathtaking. One of the best places on earth to visit. Every turn, every minute brings a new and exciting adventure. Lots of things to do for families, or singles looking to mingle. Great romantic getaway. Shopping is great, food was amazing, and our hotel moose hotel was great. Biking, hiking, canoeing, boat tours, skiing and snow boarding, helicopter rides and skiing as well, white water rafting, great for pets, so many trails. Beautiful spots for photography.

Alex Montoya

This place by far surpassed my expectations. Absolutely a beautiful place.

Brent Holmes

One of the oldest and most beautiful parks in Canada. You must buy a day pass to stop and visit in the park, worth every penny. This is a must see when in the area or driving through.

David Freeman

This is one of the coolest national parks! They have a whole downtown area with tons of shops. The trails are amazing and so is lake louise and lake mouraine. Lake mouraine parking was full by 630am but it opened back up at 8am. They even have a shuttle that takes you there but its $15.

Chris Arnold

What an absolute joy to visit Banff again. Extraordinary visuals. Mountains. Clear skies. Perfect roads. The lakes and rivers mesmerising. What a great getaway. Special mention 1. Bow lake 2. Lake louise 3. Fairmont Banff 4. Sulphur mountain Gondola

CHOW XY

Banff National Park is one of the most beautiful parks in Canada. No wonder it's the most visited . This is the 7th time visiting this wonderful place and it never gets old. The sheer size and beauty of this park needs multiple visits over and over to see everything. Every season has something else to offer. Love it . Will be back again

With Cascade Mountain to the north and Sulphur Mountain to the south, the town of Banff boasts a magnificent Canadian Rocky Mountain setting. Travelers are spoiled for choice by the irresistible combination of luxury lodges, perfect powder, renowned restaurants and energetic nightlife on offer. With both summer and winter appeal, Banff lures visitors to its stores, spas and slopes year-round.

Kristin Whitesell

A perfect place to enjoy the natural beauty of Canadian Rockies. Visit the iconic Fairmont hotel, trek along the bow river and enjoy the mystical bow falls. Enjoy breathtaking views on the gondola ride. In the evening enjoy the dinner in one of many diners in the laid back town.

Josh Heller

Banff National Park is very beautiful. We took a Gondola ride and walked until we reached the peak. It was an amazing experience. Don't forget to bring your jacket. It's cold and windy up there.

K M

Very touristy but great view, great places to eat and many different stores to buy cool trinkets to remember your stay here

Paul Wilkinson

The experience is what you make it. Banff hosts a hospitality and general friendless to be rivaled by many. Try everything from a quite hike in a quaint town to white water rafting. We had an absolute blast.

Shelley

This is bliss. ???? I spend all of my extra time here. There are so many things to do here. From the gondola, to horse back riding????, kayaking, canoeing????, bowling????, a place to rent bikes????‍♂️????‍♀️, the cave and basin, johnston's canyon hiking trail????, among many other hiking trails to choose from. The most beautiful hotels and resorts????, the hotsprings, restaurants, camping sites???? everywhere to choose from and the most breathtaking views all around you at all times⛰????????, and most amazing little shops. Candy stores with candy from all around the world???????????? At night time all the streets are lit up so beautifully.???? I could waste hours away doing anything or nothing here and be happy. ????????????????

Kenneth Trowbridge

So much to see and do. The lakes are gorgeous.. unbelievably pretty. Everywhere you turn there is a awesome view.

John Walker

Beautiful place , but don't go in holiday days or weekends. You can't see anything and you will not find any parking even to take a pic

Cindy Butyn

So much to see and so much discover. A single day simply isn't enough.

Gaurav Arora

Truly one of the most incredible places in the world. Mountains and wildlife everywhere you look. It's so magical and that reflects back into the community of people that live in this area. So many wonderful things to do if you're touring through and it does not get boring if you live here. Every one in the world should have an opportunity to visit this place. No amount of words can describe the majestic landscape and no combination of pictures can take the place of how truly wonderful it feels to visit Banff National Park.
