DESCRIPTION

You will be able to see all the opinions of people like you who consumed the services of Talkiatry (Psychiatrist) near Kapuskasing (Canada).

To this day the business receives a score of 4 out of 5 and this score was based on 127 reviews.

You may have noticed that its rating is very high, and it is based on a very large number of feddbacks, so we can say that the evaluation is quite credible. If many people have bothered to leave their feddback when they've done well with the service, it works.

You know that we don't usually stop to write feddbacks when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...

This Psychiatrist is classified in the category of Psychiatrist.

Do not waste your time with this place if you have any illness other than mild depression and generalized anxiety. I was running out of my medication and repeatedly asked over the phone if there was a chance I would not be able to have my prescription filled by the practice and they reassured me that I just needed to see an intake coordinator and then I could see the doctor who would refill my medication. I did that (Geoffrey was pretty good and helped to give me a preliminary diagnosis). After this I thought I would be able to get my medications filled, but I was wrong. I still had an initial consultation with the doctor (where I again asked if there would be a chance that I would not be "accepted" into the practice and that they would not fill my medications). I was told that the clinical team was going to review my information and that I would get a call back within a few days. When I did not receive the call (keep in mind I was running out of medication which each passing day) I called the office and was told I was not a "good fit" for the practice. So in their eyes if you are too mentally ill, you can't get mental health care. I understand wanting patients to have the correct level of care, but this seems egregious. I asked multiple times if there was a chance I wouldn't get my medication and I was strung along into paying for two appointments. If you want to be able to be honest with your provider without the fear of being booted or if you care about your provider being honest with you, then this is not the place for you.

Edited to add: Situation has been resolved, but I am leaving my review up for transparency’s sake. Thanks to the Talkiatry team for correcting their error and apologizing. If you’re reading this considering making an appointment: please avoid Talkiatry at all costs. I’m absolutely disgusted by their shady business practices and total lack of care for their clients. Unprofessional, neglectful customer service and a total lack of transparency seem to be the norm here. The only reason I began sessions with Talkiatry at all is because, in my initial registration, I was told that my appointments were fully covered by my insurance. When I started receiving bills I was completely bewildered — no communication from Talkiatry at ALL on their end breaking down costs, just a nasty surprise bill that led to a months-long lapse in care as I got the runaround from management and no one could explain to me why I was explicitly told (and was noted in my file during intake) that my sessions were covered when they weren’t. Left repeated messages to the billing department and to my specific provider attempting to problem solve and didn’t hear back until I received a notice that I requested to terminate services which I never did, I simply sought an explanation as to why I had been misled and charged such an enormous bill. Would advise everyone against Talkiatry. 0/10. Only rating one star because Google is forcing me to.

THERE ARE CHEAPER DOCTORS THAT DONT ACCEPT HEALTH INSURANCE!! These guys are new and probably should have figured out some of the nut and bolts before they got their business started. The actual doctor (correction: NURSE PRACTITIONER!) I met with was fine, but you’ve got to explain your story to at least two other people before you’re seen— one of them includes a social worker (?!). Even after using my health insurance, I had a $300 remaining balance!! They do not warn you about this because they’re happy to take your money. BEWARE and understand that you won’t get all the info you need about copayments from these people.

Love my psychiatrist. My favorite I've had. The medication regime seems to actually fit. I'm stable but not drugged. Glad I didn't see the reviews prior or I probably wouldn't have gone but talkiatry has been my favorite psychiatric experience, would recommend to anyone I love. Thanks for all the help!

Two months ago, I found myself in desperate need of a way to supplement talk therapy to treat my ongoing depression. Like many others during this mentally trying time, I no longer felt like myself and was unable to get myself to a healthier baseline without other intervention. Encouraged by some friends I decided to seek out options for psychiatry to understand how medication could help. Unfortunately my initial search left me even more stressed, most available options were wildly expensive ($500+) merely for the initial appointment. I feel extremely grateful that I was introduced to Talkiatry and work with Dr. Namrata Shah, a practice that works with my insurance to ensure that price is not a blocker to receiving necessary treatment. Also as a woman of color, it provides me an additional layer of mental safety to work with another woman of color who cares deeply for her patients. I can confidently say that the past two months working with Dr. Shah have been life changing. The initial weeks of being on medication was a bit of an adjustment period, but now 2 months post, I finally feel like myself again. I only wish I had sought out help sooner. Thank you to Talkiatry and namely Dr. Shah for providing me a safe space to heal.

So far the services have been really great. The staff is very helpful and organized.

Horrible experience after calling and emailing for weeks (since November 2020, we are now at the end of January 2021), being told conflicting information. As someone desperate to find mental health resources, Talkiatry makes it as hard as possible to get a hold of anyone or get answers. Even though I really wanted to talk to a psychiatrist in their practice, they made it too difficult for me to even get a consultation. EDIT: I ONLY received a call back after posting this negative review, in which they stated they were closed yesterday which is why I didn't get a call or email back...

I would not recommend this office to anyone with serious mental health issues. Dr. Shapiro dropped me as a patient with no warning or explanation after forcing me to commit myself to inpatient. I was a patient of Dr. Avreliya Shapiro for about a year. At first, she was really attentive and seemed to be very knowledgeable about how to treat my conditions. This past spring things started to go south. We made many adjustments to my medication and as a result I became increasingly unstable. This culminated in August with her giving me an ultimatum - either I go to the hospital or she would involuntarily commit me herself. I chose to go. SHE SAID TO GIVE THE HOSPITAL STAFF HER NUMBER AND SHE WANTED TO SPEAK TO THERM. NO ONE FROM THE ER OR HOSPITAL WAS ABLE TO GET IN TOUCH WITH HER FOR OVER A WEEK. Eventually, I was informed by the hospital social worker that Dr. Shapiro was on vacation. Her RECEPTIONIST was the one who told the social worker that she was dropping me as a patient because I "needed a higher level of care." I was told I would be able to keep one last appointment with her a few weeks after my discharge, but the office CANCELED THE APPOINTMENT. I WAS NEVER TOLD ONCE BY DR. SHAPIRO HERSELF THAT I WAS BEING DROPPED. I HAVE NEVER SPOKEN TO HER SINCE. IT IS WILDLY UNPROFESSIONAL AND DOWNRIGHT DANGEROUS TO DROP A PATIENT WITH SUICIDAL THOUGHTS WITHOUT EVEN SPEAKING TO THEM!!!

Emmie Arnold

People on the phone were very nice, but they didn't let me know until a day before the appointment that they didn't take my insurance (which they had listed on their website as being accepted), and they canceled my appointment without asking if I would be okay paying out of pocket. (They don't have a sliding scale, either.) They had no idea whether I had enough medications to last until I was able to find another appointment, so canceling the appointment was reckless on their part. They said a manager would call me back about my concerns about the incorrect insurance information and their thoughtless decision, but they never did. Be careful and make triply sure that you have what you need.

They don't take anybody with severe mental health issues and will tell you you're "too dangerous" and "need to be closely monitored" because you're on a mood stabilizer. Disgusting.

Their LCSW Geoffrey was excellent! Listened to me and was very insightful. He lead me on the right path to my mental health recovery.

I have been seeing Dr. Veksman through telehealth for medication consultation since the spring. She is kind and thorough, clearly explains things and values my input. She has eased my worries about coming off a long-term medication, and I very much feel like I am in good hands!

Got an appointment with Corey Gonera that took a month to book. I get a call the Friday before the appointment and apparently, there were 'scheduling issues' and my appointment has to be rescheduled for 2 months out! Extremely unprofessional. It took me a long time to find someone I thought would be a good fit and being thrown away like this made me feel like less of a person. Stay away from these people, they do not take care seriously and are not interested in well being.

I have been going to Talkiatry for close to a year and both my psychologist and psychiatrist have been nothing but compassionate, attentive and helpful. I had the same experience as Emmie Arnold, they told me 30min ago to call them, because the information they need is not collectable via phone and they won't pick up despite me calling within 30min. I waited about 2 weeks for an appointment and they canceled the day before the appointment. Needless to say I don't think I will be using their services as I think this is a reckless way to treat patients.

Roman Sheydvasser

I've been very happy with my experience as a patient at Talkiatry. My doctor is very professional, knowledgeable, and gives me great advice. The only things that have made the experience imperfect have been the somewhat difficult to use portal, and slightly vague billing (but I imagine that's less their fault and more because of the US healthcare system).

Abigail Wendt

I have nothing but nice things to say about Talkiatry as a practice. Their patient portal is easy to navigate and use and they're available by phone for any billing issues or scheduling changes. I can't speak to the quality of the other practitioners, but Dr. Shapiro is a wonderful psychiatrist who strikes the perfect balance between talking things over and prescribing medication. If you're looking for a psychiatrist who is motivated to find the right medication(s) for you but will also check in and get to know you outside of your brain chemistry, I can't recommend her enough.

I would leave zero stars if I could. Though their LCSW Geoffrey was excellent and really took his time to get to know me and my issues on a surface level during intake, my experience at this place was absolutely terrible. I met with their doctor Illise Perlmutter after my intake and the experience was short of traumatizing. I was criticized for medication I am currently taking (which a professional prescribed to me) and had my experiences that led me to them extremely belittled. She had no empathy when speaking and seemed to know absolutely nothing about me prior to our session. (What was the point of an intake for over an hour if she couldn’t even do a once over of the notes prior to our meeting?) She later berated me for not reporting something that happened to me, a traumatic experience that I have shared with very select few, and failed to address the main issues I wanted to discuss. She made me terribly uncomfortable and when I called their office to tell someone about the terrible experience that I had I spoke to a manager, Samantha. She seemed really willing to help and sympathetic to my situation at first but when she followed up it was a different story. She stated that the providers at their office felt that I needed care that they could not provide and that I would benefit from in person care (in a pandemic?!) which they do not currently offer. When I mentioned that it seemed like I was now being punished for filing a complaint she stated that this was not the case and that she was “sorry I felt that way.” I pointed out that that is not an apology and doesn’t solve my issue at hand. She did not seem to like that based on the shift in her tone after that. She offered to go back to her “team” to discuss me possibly seeing another provider at their office (which is what I had originally requested because since this process had been so exhausting I didn’t want to start over) or to give me recommendations for out patient treatment. I advised that with the bad taste that they had left in my mouth I no longer wished to work with their office and wouldn’t trust any recommendations that they provided. I came to this office for medication management after years of struggling with my mental health and finally getting to a good place working with an outside therapist. I have left discouraged and in a worse place than I started. If you’re seeking real help, I do not recommend this office. It seems I was too difficult for their doctors they have with all these fancy licenses and certifications.

I took my son here to see Dr. Gaveras and she was great. She took the time to understand what he was going through and then spent extra time answering a million questions I had about medication. She did recommend us to get him in therapy as well and the receptionist (I think her name began with an n?) sent me a list which was nice, we ended up finding a therapist from a friend but Dr. Gaveras works with her for the medication. Finding someone taking kids with Oxford is almost impossible...

I've been going here for a hot minute... all during COVID so it is remote but I love this office. From the front desk to the psychiatrist AND therapist I see (hot shout out to Joseph and Katrina) they are kind, open, and thorough. Dr. F. Syed is a very knowledgeable doctor. He’s attentive and understanding of my concerns and was able to identify & diagnose my issue. Dr. Syed discussed different types of treatment plans and I was able to begin treatment right away. This place is expensive, unreasonable, ineffective and insufficient. I remember linking my card to the website and still I keep getting these mails about needing to mail my payment. When I try to pay online it just said my account has been deactivated. How inconvenient do you want to make your clients feel? Not to mention it did nothing for me, even the referrals I got all of them were either unavailable or too expensive.

Real problem with scheduling. Dr. overbooked. Had a10am appt. waited 1/2 hr til apt rescheduled for 4pm. Dr. had time at 3 but the link didn't arrive. My new appt. is on Tues, 5 days later.. Delay on medication. None of this is the Dr's fault.

Here are my reasons for the failing grade. (1) Poorly built website - Their patient portal appears incredibly glitchy and doesn't feel very intuitive. For example, it's not clear how to create an account. When I tried I have to click a link in a section called "Review your health records", which isn't an intuitive section of the website for creating a profile. The person at Talkiatry that helped me navigate the process agreed that the page was not intuitive and confusing. Also, functionality and graphics on their website randomly appear and disappear. (2) Unstable teleconferencing software - Their teleconferencing software appears to have critical flaws. For example, I sat logged into my first tele-visit as I watched the doctor try to join multiple times. The doctor was never able to log in and I ended up just leaving the appointment after waiting 10 minutes. (3) Inconsistent help from staff - The person who helped me set up my profile was very helpful and patient as we both tried to navigate the poorly designed website (that person from Talkiatry conceded it was poorly designed); the person I called to let Talkiatry know the doctor wasn't able to join hung up on me after I tried to describe the problem; and the person I spoke with when I called back didn't offer any real help. They just told me there seems to be problems with the portal and offered to reschedule. I passed on that offer.

i was struggling to find a provider that was taking patients, covered by my insurance, and specialized in what i was being referred for. for context, i had my referral for almost a year before being able to find someone. i finally found talkiatry through psychologytoday.com and was able to set up an appointment very quickly. my provider, Dr. Underreiner, is very thorough and does an excellent job, as he was able to confirm a diagnosis i had expected for a long time. i could not recommend him more!

This place is a sham. Met with a therapist for 45 mins who decided to re-diagnose me and deny me my medication that I’ve been on for 20 years. They must get kickbacks for trying to push different meds. Super unprofessional and thankfully I didn’t listen and did my own research

This office is pretty unprofessional. During the appointment making process it was stressed to me that there was a very strict cancellation policy of 48 hours, yet I was cancelled on for my new patient appointment by the provider, Dr. Rohs, the same morning I was supposed to have my visit. I never write reviews, I find them to be a waste of my time, but I’m upset so I’ll make time. I spoke to two doctors in Talkiatry, Geoffrey Edelstein & Navjot Khinda both asking me to share why I need their services, I’ve shared personal, hard trauma with both doctors, we‘ve both seemed to have great treatment options but now it’s been nearly over a month and I haven’t heard ANYTHING from them. Not only am i extremely discouraged, I’m profoundly hurt after all that vulnerability with reaching out for help and no one cared to communicate about further plans. I’ve wasted money and time. I’m frustrated & writing this review because I’m discouraged. I’m sure I’m a rare case, but I shouldn’t have been forgotten about.

If I could give no stars I would. The front desk is unpleasant to new patients seeking mental health treatment. When I decided to call, I said I never sought help before and was unfamiliar to this. It was obvious they didn't want to be bothered in explaining what they offered. They were quick to try and dismiss me and refer me out since I said I wasn't on medication (yet) and was trying not to take anything, but was willing to try. I wasn't against it, it was just my first time and I am currently struggling to find help. After my visit with the nurse practitioner, I didn't get a clear diagnosis on my mental issue. I went back to the portal only to find out there is nothing there. I feel worse now than when I sought help, and this experience makes me think the entire industry is only there to make a buck, not really to help. All they care about is prescribing medications, not wanting to listen.

This practice is wonderful. In times of Covid, I'm thankful for the chance to see someone virtually. Dr. Shapiro is great - empathetic, so kind and definately skilled. She listens and offers keen insight, not just prescribing meds, which is what brought me to her. Very chill. She very closely checked how I was responding and dosed accordingly. The staff in office are great, so friendly and helpful. Thanks Talkiatry. ????

Do I have to give them one start????? Made an appointment for my son. Trying to avoid having to go to emergency care. Got an appointment next day confirmed via email. They called me to reschedule because it was not a new patient slot ( who knew selecting new pt. wouldn't work? Not this girl) Gave me an appointment for the next day. When he tried to log in. The appointment was canceled. Said he didn't do the intake but I made sure he did the day before. Now my child experiencing anxiety and depression is now highly agitated and manic. Way to go! I guess it's the ER for us!

Dr. Fernández

In theory, Talkiatry is a great concept. In practice, it is the complete opposite. To begin, when I initially reached out to them I was told my co-payment would be $90 despite being in network. First and foremost, I don’t have a co-payment I have co-insurance which is collected after services are rendered. When I inquired about this $90 to be paid up front, she doubled down that it would be the cost based on their fees. I went on to explain to her that you can charge my insurance a million dollars and the pt is responsible for 20% (in this case) of the contractual agreement the practice has with the insurance company. I then asked to speak to a manager who was able to explain that there is a range and $90 was on the higher end however it would all depend on my insurance. Although I was annoyed and my gut told me this is probably going to be a disaster I decided to just let it be and move on. I met with the provider and we booked two subsequent appointments. I cancelled both within Talkitary’s policy of 48 hours notice. I then receive a message from the provider (Nidhi Sharoha) letting me know that if I had another cancellation she would have to discuss referring me out for care since there had been two prior cancellations and we “hadn’t seen each other in a while” (intake was on 12/10 and follow up was on 1/7-less than a month!). I responded by letting her know that (a) we had our session less than a month prior and since there was no medication management at the moment the urgency for a follow up appt was unclear and (b) I would like to see the policy that states pts who cancel their appts twice within the policy guidelines are to be referred out. My request was met with (a) “since you don’t want medication management” she could refer me to psychotherapy services which was not what was said in the prior message or during the session and (b) that there was no official policy about the cancellation and was more of a provider preference approach. I quickly let her know I would contacting administration to request a change in provider. But the story doesn’t end there- I contacted the office who told me although I had my intake less than a month prior (and you would expect them to work as a team) I would have to have a new intake and that my insurance would be charged as such as oppose to a 45 minute session where the provider would be able to review the intake from their colleague and ask any questions they needed to. I told her I couldn’t understand why that would be the process since it would appear as a duplication of services and likely be denied. She couldn’t provide any helpful information regarding the process or rationale for the policy behind it. I asked to be contacted by the manager I spoke to with my first issue and I am still waiting to hear back from 1/5. While I can appreciate the generic response to contact the wecare email. I’ve contacted to hello email several times since 1/5 and have yet to hear so I don’t expect much from that approach either.

These reviews are surprising. I got an email to rate my experience after my last visit (first time getting that email) so checked the google link out. If you understand your insurance benefits then there really shouldn’t be a problem, I have high deductible plan and they told me from the beginning that the costs would be my responsibility until my deductible was met. I had an HSA so I already know this of course. I see Rebecca and she is great as is the front desk.

I’ll give 2 stars to be honest , I suffer with severe anxiety and wasn’t getting the meds I needed at all it seems as if they didn’t hear me out on how bad my anxiety it is . Trying to just give sleeping pills and benetril that’s not going to help.

After several exchanges of correspondence with Talkiatry, and after sending to them photos of my insurance cards, I was informed that there are no providers in their practice who see patients 65 years old and above, but they might have such providers in the future. Yet, their website advertises services "From children to geriatrics & from medication management to therapy". They also advertise that they work with "geriatric issues". Well, if I applied for services just two months ago, I would not yet have been 65. Would that have made a difference? What if I applied six months ago and then turned 65? Would the providers have said, "Wow, you're now 65, we don't have experience treating seniors"? Very unprofessional.

I love my new psychiatrist. I had the same Doctor for 17 years and when he closed his private practice I was in a panic. Searching for a new psychiatrist was difficult as it was hard to find someone that accepted my insurance and was also conveniently located near my home. I am very comfortable working with Dr. O and am so grateful that I found him.

I had a good intake session and it went downhill after that. Saw Dr. Ilisse Perlmutter. She did not seem to have read the notes from the intake. Nor did I feel she listened to me. I found her to be impatient and I did not agree with her approach. Long story short, after the session, one of the receptionists told me that Dr. Perlmutter said I would benefit from in-person care. Not sure how that works with the current Covid situation. I was then told “hopefully learn to tolerate a session.” In my mind this is ridiculous because I have had therapy sessions in the past, both virtual and in-person. And what I thought was not good at the time is nothing compared to what happened here. I think this experience is enough to turn anyone off from therapy forever. I received referrals for “in-person care” but there is no way I am trusting them.

I found a great psychiatrist on Talkiatry, easy to book and contact if you have any issues. Would recommend.

Brand new experience for elderly woman. Years not attitude. Joined to qualify for medicine. Got pills(mild) and Doctor(terrific).

After going through numerous attempts to find a psychiatrist in my area, Talkiatry has been the most helpful practice I’ve ever had experience with. Both Dr. Gaveras and Dr. Shah are outstanding doctors. I’ve recently been working with Dr. Shah, and she is amazing. She answers all of your questions, she takes the time to listen to your concerns, and provides the best care possible. I have never felt as comfortable with a psychiatrist before as I do now. I would highly recommend!

An absolute nightmare. All staff is unprofessional, uninformed and they do not communicate with you. I have been trying to get a simple administrative task done for 8 weeks! Every time I call, they pretend that they are taking action and will reach out to me, only to drop the ball and never call me back. If you can go elsewhere, do it.

I brought my daughter to see Dr. Perlmutter and it was very refreshing to get a proper diagnosis. She took the time to explain to me what was going on and even set up a separate appointment so I can really understand the pros and cons of medication which was incredibly important for me.

This is the only place that has made me feel comfortable with a professional and pleasant staff. the whole experience of this company was incredibly easy and joyful. every person is easy to talk to and very helpful. Even payment and making changes to appointments are easy. Not to mention my wonderful therapist, who is so professional that they helped me be my better self by the third session alone. I can’t look back, talkiatry is the reason i am able to function as well as am today and achieve my goals.

Good example of why many people with mental health disorders are afraid to seek help. I called and was told they accept my insurance and I was scheduled for an evaluation. After my evaluation I was told none of their providers that take my insurance are currently taking on new patients. If this was true then why did they schedule me and have me go through an entire evaluation? What a waste of my time and energy. I suspect that the real reason they told me this is because they only want easy patients and thought I would be too difficult. As always people with serious mental health conditions are thrown to the side.

I am so grateful for Nasstaja helping me set up my appointment and answering ALL of my questions. She is the best patient care coordinator I have ever experienced. Again so grateful to have her help me at this difficult time.

My learning disabled adult daughter had an intake interview with the Talkiatry psychiatrist. Midway through a seemingly constructive session, the doctor became stunningly offensive, then denied what she said applied to our daughter (and would have been just as unprofessional for her to be describing someone else - on camera - during a session), then apologized for offending her but claimed she didn't know something our daughter had already described to her. She lacked empathy, insight and professionalism. One star is too generous a post but no stars is not offered as an option!

The front desk is unpleasant to deal with especially to newcomers seeking mental health treatment. I found the NP through zocdoc, I wasn't too familiar about this practice before hand and it's my first time seeking mental health specialist. When I decided to first schedule an appointment, I expressed I never sought help before and they didn't want to be bothered in explaining what they offered. They were quick to want shut me out since I contemplated on taking medication. I wasn't against it, it was just my first time and I am currently struggling to find help. After my visit with the NP, I didn't get a clear diagnosis on my mental issue and there is nothing documented in the patient portal, I would have been better off doing a self-diagnosis. Then, when I asked for advice on something, his response came off insensitive and I felt uncomfortable in wanting to see him again. I felt a sense of discomfort with him. I honestly feel the interactions from this place leaves me feeling worse off than I started. I wouldn't recommend this place AT ALL!

The person I spoke to while scheduling was very nice and helpful and answered all my questions. My appointment with the NP was disappointing and frustrating to say the least. Marie Anne felt very clinical and cold while reading through depression, anxiety, and ADHD screening checklists. When I asked for clarification on screening items though she was helpful and provided extra information which was appreciated. But the entire visit felt very impersonal. I was a new patient and told her I wanted to change the medication I was already on and she said no. Total waste of an hour.

I am happy with my experience I did have an initial consult before I was actually assigned to a doctor however I was very specific that I am new to this and need someone who will deal with me with”kid gloves” and who would be very professional and knowledgeable with any line of treatment. I am very pleased even though initially it took longer because I had to do the intake interview first which wound up being very good and thorough and help me match with the doctor for me!

Everyone I've dealt with here is SO nice! I had a really horrible experience at another place I tried where the administration/front-desk in particular were very cold and rude. Totally the opposite here! Mara, for one, has gone above and beyond what I ever expected — always answering my calls and even dealing directly with a pharmacy so I wouldn't have to. (And everyone knows calling chain pharmacies is no fun task). The care has been great so far as well. Empathetic, yet straightforward. I highly recommend!

You would not find my account because it is under my daughter's name. And it is interesting you want to discuss now because I sent an email directly to Talkiatry about my concerns when it originally happened and I got no response, you are only worried because you dont want the bad review. I have already reported Talkiatry to the AG's office & contacted the state medical board to make a complaint about Katrina.

Horrible. Psychiatrist said to call him back thr next day. Capped thre times and they never hit beck to me. Even left a message. Then told me to go back to my old psychiatrist who isn't trans friendly and doesn't have thr experience instead of helping me manage thre intersectional nature of my mental illness and gender dysphoria. they even said how I was unmedicated was a factor in them not wanting me as a patient. Very ableist and very unprofessional. Only go here if you wasnt someone to waste your time and constantly change their mind on course of treatment. If tot wasn't your life to be mote still and surely then by all meanness see dr gonorrhea. Otherwise don't. Guy cares more about protecting his reputation than helping those in need. People here have horrible people skills and shouldn't be allowed to practice psychiatry

I wish I could give this practice more stars as I love my psychiatrist, however, the practice has cancelled appointments that I've had and scheduled me with other doctors that I didn't want. I've tried for 3 weeks to set up my patient portal which is impossible. If you could find another practice, I'd recommend it.

The platform that you use for the virtual visits. Constantly crashes and makes it impossible to get a decent session with the doctor in. I would suggest going to FaceTime or zoom.

I have really appreciated my experience with Talkiatry. It's easy to use the portal for messaging my provider, and I hear back quickly! I have only used them for telemedicine and am grateful that they have early evening appointments that accommodate my schedule. It's a game changer to have this practice of psychiatric providers covered by insurance. Dr. Shapiro is a saving grace and I think the world of her for the patience and kindness she has shown me in my mental health journey.
