the wait times are ok but i have felt my doctor wont do anything different in regards to medication. Wish i had someone with more experience.
Thank you for the kind and compassionate care here. It’s been a while since I’ve had such an empathetic Doctor who actually took the time to listen to all my concerns and actually look into them for me. The nurses were amazing as well. That was the fastest service I’ve ever received quick in and out. Thank you.
This is the best health centre in Edmonton to go to for a walk in if you need to see a doctor after hours. Everything is so clean, new, in order and people are nice. I don’t live close by, but whenever I need a doctor after hours I travel to this place.
Wonderful caring and efficient staff. My husband received superb care here. Clean, quiet facility far superior to any ER.
I don't recommend this facility. We came here to have my wife looked at as she was just give birth 3 days ago and she has abdominal pain, we been waiting for 1 and a half before the doctor finally came which I already told my wife to put her clothes back on as we have to go to another clinic. But before that I went to the front desk to ask if how long do we have to wait for the doctor, they answered they don't know without thinking that there is a uniformed guy (clinic uniform) standing and chatting with them on the side and thats the doctor who came and see us in the room where we at as we are ready to go. Service in this facility is awful. No wonder lots of bad review previously. Try to find another clinic not in this clinic.
The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. They look after the patients professionally. I really appreciate the nurses for the medical treatment they provided to me. Thank you so much to all the staff.
Low volume
Great facility that has multiple services offered. Day time (8:30am-5pm): Primary Care Clinic to see your Doctor, Lab services for blood work, Imaging services for xrays. After hours (5pm-10:30pm): Emergency care services, walk-ins, injuries, chest pains, etc
I've been going here for about a year and I've been happy with all the amenities they have!
I got there right at 3 when they open on saturday. Was helped immediately, everyone was very friendly. Front desk, the nurse who helped me during the visit, the lady who took my blood, the xray tech, and of course the doctor who was extreamley sympathetic that i had to wait in pain for blood test results, he would check on me every 15 mins or so in my room, and gave me pain relievers. Best healthcare service ive receieved in all my years handsdown. Yes there was some waiting but people need to realize you are NOT the only one who is there and needs help. They do the best that they can.
Sat and bled for 5 hours before walking out. This place is a joke.
I came in to update my niece’s vaccines with all required legal documentation indicating I am her legal guardian. The manager that approves said paperwork wasn’t in, so my appointment was cancelled. Front desk staff lacking any sort of communication or knowledge.
The staff were professional and got me in and out in about 3 hours after suffering from dehydration. If you have a non life threatening medical concern I highly recommend this clinic!
Never been so shocked at the level of professionalism! Won’t go into to much detail but being a woman with a male doctor really isn’t the same. My male doctors wouldn’t even listen to what i was trying to tell him , after him interrupting me multiple times he refused to run any sort of test on me and blatantly ignored my concerns and sent me on my way with simple prescribed pain meds !! Alberta health services I’m deeply disappointed that these kind of doctors are still licensed!!
So I was in a minor car crash a few days prior and I wanted to get my legs looked at as I seemed to be in more discomfort then I thought normal. I arrived around 5:30, was reviewed at the desk and then told to wait for a doctor. I waited around 90 minutes until being escorted to a room and asked to wait again for a doctor. So I did, for roughly 2 and a half hours. There were maybe 6 other people in, 5 of which arrived after and only one had a more serious injury (that I could tell). I fail to see how this is an urgent care setting if it takes several hours to be seen. There seem to be several support staff available, I heard several conversations through the closed door, however not enough actual doctors. I could understand waiting this long if the clinic was very busy, but perhaps this facility is unable to adequately attend to less people then an average small medicentre.
1.5 hour wait on the phone to talk with capital health link. Told me to go here. 3.5 hour wait, when there was like 10 people in there max. Then was told it was going to be a "long night" because there was apparently 16 people in the back with only 2 doctors. Sure. If you say so. I was the very last person in the building, but ok. This is what thousands of my tax dollars goes towards per year. Socialist healthcare, which is a complete write off. It's literally a Ponzi scheme at this point. There is little no no actual health care being administered.
I went here for the first time after 2 medicentre clinics nearby, who said they were open until 8pm actually closed at 7pm. Both centers said the doctor goes home if there are no patients left. Anyways! I went here and the staff were incredible. From the intake nurses all the way to the doctor himself. I had been struggling with what I thought was strep throat for 4 days and he treated me immediately. He offered me a pain reliever, my first round of antibiotics as the pharmacy's were already closed for the night and a shot to reduce the swelling in my throat to make me feel more comfortable. As a patient, having a doctor and nurses listen to you and actually care means so much. Thank you for taking care of me that night and thank you for listening. I will be back!
I have been a patient of the clinic since it opened and seen a number of care providers. Years ago when I initially would visit, I was impressed by the number of services and the overall faculity. However my bad experiences have now outweighed the good and it is becoming increasingly frustrating to speak to any of the staff. My phone appointment scheduled for this afternoon was outright ignored. Nearly an hour after the scheduled time, I finally called the clinic only for the receptionist to repeatedly imply I had missed the call despite my explaining I had been holding my phone for the majority of the afternoon. When I expressed my concern she told me to call back and rebook but keep my phone nearby next time... I did not miss the call from my doctor. He just didn't call. This, in combination with many other instances of being dismissed has finally inspired me to look elsewhere for my medical care. While I understand that doctors are busy and miatakes happen, patients deserve more respect when make time in their lives to see a doctor.
A little over a year and a half ago I started feeling more unwell than usual. An extreme level of stress had resulted in a period of fatigue, poor sleep and general malaise. On the day relating to this review, I awoke (after hearing my heart pound in my chest all night) feeling groggy and weak. Since this was becoming the norm I went to work as usual but the feeling never subsided and dizziness joined the party. After work, instead of heading home, I decided to seek help. I remembered the suggestions on the AHS website asking people to choose the appropriate facility for their needs. Knowing about EEHS I looked them up. 3+ hrs waits at all nearby ER's, while THEY promised "Medical care for complex or urgent health concerns. Urgent care services are for people who have unexpected but non-life-threatening health concerns that usually require same-day treatment. Some examples include broken bones, sprains, lacerations, asthma, dehydration, pain and infections. All patients are seen according to the urgency of their health condition, with the sickest patients being seen first." OK. After checking in during URGENT CARE HOURS (not during family clinic hours) and filling out the questionnaire, I proceeded to wait until all the sickest patients ahead of me were helped. For over 2 hours. Before I was even shown to a room. Thankfully, I was kept occupied by cheerfully helpful nurses(?) who offered me reading material on smoking cessation products, then to email me a link to a video on smoking cessation products, then to switch chairs to sit close enough to the tv that had a smoking cessation products infomercial all queued up, or just relax and watch any of the other tv's that were all playing smoking cessation products videos, or someone could sit and keep me company while they talked to me about my smoking cessation options . . . 2 hours. Then I was shown a room. Then nothing. A shift change occurred or a large # of people joined the first then kibitzed causing the first group to leave. Still nothing. By now, had I driven around looking for a medicentre still open or gone to an ER, I would just be getting seen anyway, so no big whoop, right? Not exactly. All will be clear. I stuck my head out the door to interrupt the new gaggle and was told to wait, irritably. I left. Checking the AHS app, I saw that the shortest ER wait times were in Leduc and at the Sherwood Park Not-Hospital so speeding down the Yellowhead I go. Checking in after a dizzying drive, I was immediately triaged in the order I had arrived, asked the same questions as at EEHC BUT, just as the receptionist at my GP would have done, they also checked my Blood Pressure, then my Heartrate. After double checking with a stethoscope, then with the doctor hurriedly called over using his stethoscope, I was rushed in ahead of all the other patients. Given a room (booth) where they tried (valiantly, but unsuccessfully) to arrest my Uncontrolled Atrial Fibrillation to no avail. Arranging Transport to the UofA/Mazankowski by ambulance (oddly, wouldn't let me make the drive) I spent the next few days before my HR normalized. I'm very grateful to the folks in 'the Park' for trying so hard (and for not towing my car) and to the Maz for getting to the bottom of it. That said. Don't go to the EEHC for "urgent" or "complex". I'd avoid them even for "concerns" or "care". Before 5pm they are a family clinic that seems to specialize in providing advice and resources only and this level of failure to provide care and attention(hah) carries over far into the period (evening) that they claim to offer "unexpected but non-life-threatening health concern care that usually requires same-day treatment". My GP's receptionist, who treats me like I'm new every time I come in (name? oh, here you are, have you been to see the doctor before????) has NEVER failed to put a BP cuff on me and check my HR. NEVER. If you actually get to see a doctor here, you might be fine, otherwise avoid at all costs. Good luck.
This health care facility has always treated like a person first and only. The lab facility acts as a go-between me and Alberta blood services to provide me with my life saving blood products and even if I was a little late getting there, they always treated me fairly. When being treated as a patient I was always treated promptly and in a very friendly manner. The Doctors, nurses, and all staff treated me with respect. Thank you so very much for all that you do and for all that you put up with.
Amy is sooo nice. Everyone are very nice!
I'm extremely disappointed!!-I took a friend hoping he could get a medical exemption-he has exyremely bad copd and heart artymia to boot!!-not only was he denied he was forced to put a mask on!!-I was almost teady to call an ambulance and im not being dramatic-if yr doctor cannot safeguard yr health-who can?????
I've always been treated quite well. You expect a wait especially when your issues arent that severe. I've been twice now, and I cannot say enough about the physician Dr. Reid Hosford. He went above and beyond for something that was really scary for me. I only wish I could snag him as a family doctor. All the staff there were professional. Thank you so much for your care
Went for immunization for my son. Had the worst experience ever first the receptionist helped a patient who I came before and then went to check in and told me to undress the child and waited another 20 mins trying to hold him so never recommend anyone there. But have my family doc there and she's so great
If you go there for what it is intended to be , an urgent care clinic, you will be seen efficiently. I have went once myself and took a family member once and it was prompt and exceptional care both times. If you go there for menial things that they can do at your doctors office like a daily wound care or to talk about your chronic back pain, then yes , you will unfortunately have to wait for the more urgent cases to be seen .
Came here for speech therapist. Good specialist.
First, why does a city as large as Edmonton only have one urgent care clinic. If people had more options, emergency departments wouldn’t have as many “minor emergencies”. Doctors are good and you can get better/increased care fairly quickly but the admin. They are in no hurry to check you in. Chatting amongst themselves and leisurely triaging and registering. Health workers generally need more support. If they are treated well it will trickle down to the patients. Do better Edmonton.
worst service ever and rudest staff ever they don't deserve even one star
Clean facilities
Amazing ! Just amazing. Came in at 10:00 pm with a very ill teenager and they took great care of us! Home by 11:15 pm. Thank you!
Urgent care is awesome! Fast and professional! Government should fund more this type of center!
I've gone here for my child's immunizations, and we have a family doctor there. Always a good experience.
I work at the womens emergency accommodation center and have brought ladies and have had an excellent experience by staff and doctors
Friendly, knowledgeable staff make what can be an unpleasant experience bearable.
Very polite staff
Pretty good health centre but expect at least 3 hours inside. 2 hrs if you are lucky. I guess most health centres or hospitals have really looong wait times, expect it already so you dont get disappointed much. Bring a book or a celphone charger
Amazingly friendly and thoughtful staff.
Very fast service for their urgent care. longest I've ever waited was 45minutes, which is nothing compared to how long you would wait anywhere else. I have always been thoroughly impressed.
I visited this UCC this afternoon to have my 81 year old mother assessed. Dr. Chana was awesome and had excellent bedside manner and explained in easy terms his concern of my mothers symptoms -nursing staff were amazing from triage to discharge and the flow of care was expedited in an unprecedented manner. Dr Chana arranged my mother to be further reassessed in an ER setting to explore ongoing medical concerns-he arranged CT chest and EMS transfer to facility after speaking with ER doctor re his own findings at his clinic From walking in the door to departure via ambulance to the U of A (which was executed by Dr. Chana) was what I see, an exceptional approach to care. A big shout out for ALL your excellence in care! Thank you! Catherine! PS my mum was discharged from ER after care and CT Scan...has follow up with Cardiology-appointment pending... Thank you AHS! Our system works...you guys are awesome ???? Five Stars deserved
Didn’t want to believe the bad reviews, but I have to agree. I was sent here after talking to a nurse at 811. A couple days post surgery, I had severe abdominal and back pain. I was told specifically not to wait and also not to go to an ER or medicenter, urgent care would be able to assist. The clinic opened at 3pm. I got in at 3:30pm excepting somewhat of a wait but not FIVE HOURS. The front desk registration and intake staff were extremely rude to everyone including myself. They told me I should go back to the hopsital I had my surgery at instead of utilizing their clinic. Keep in mind this is during COVID and I was told not to go to an ER. They let in two people with sprained ankles before me. I saw multiple people give up and leave after trying to inquiry with the front desk if they could give an estimate into wait times. Three more people asked who they could complain to about the attitude of front desk staff. The most appaling thing I saw was the woman beside me ask how much longer would she have to wait - only to get yelled at and told by the staff they are not psychic. She needed up deciding to leave. Not even ten mins later a nurse calls her name to come in. Intake staff couldn’t even be bothered to tell the nurse that the woman had left only about 10mins prior. The kicker? The nurse never came back to call another patient for over 2 hours. I understand that everywhere is busy due to covid. But the staff here do not communicate with patients and are extremely unprofessional and rude. The waiting room was full after 5 hours that people were waiting outside. And you could not have a spouse or companion wait inside with you anymore.
The URGENCY HOURS clinic claims they give service which is faster than going to the Royal Alex. However ! On Aug 12 ' 14, I sat in the waiting room for 45 minutes and then left in disgust. In Sept 2017, I was sent into a doctors room and sat there for 90 minutes and nothing happened. It’s as though these people forget you are even there. On Dec 21 ‘ 18, I was sent into a doctors room and sat there for 65 minutes and it’s like they forget that you’re even there. I left in disgust both times as well. WE HAVE QUITE THE HEALTH CARE SYSTEM. THIS Health Care Clinic's Urgency Service clinic is a complete CROCK ! ! ! The staff at this place should be ashamed of themselves ! ! ! !
We've been going here for years to get our children weighed and a quick visit with a nurse. Very friendly knowledgeable staff and new clean facilities. Could only be improved by having better access to onsite doctor.
I had very bad experience in this place. I went to this place because my 20 months boy was sick and had fever. I waited for more than one hour to see a doctor. What it made me upset that who came after me went very quickly to see the doctor and I was there waiting with my baby who was sleeping on my lab. I felt very angry and I left the clinic because they didn’t treat me well.
I sat at this facility for 6 hours trying to see why my covid-19 symptoms included lightheaded and dizziness. By the time I finally gave up and left I hadn't eaten for over 12 hours and I mentioned that to them several times. The doctor that evening seemed to not care at all and I would recommend any hospital over this facility. The first nurse I had nice at least but the doctor was useless imo.
They are compassionate and understanding and thorough with their patients. They have a team based approach and are extremely efficient.
It's a good place to go! The wait is a little while depending on your severity so just be mindful of that! I went in there in extreme pain and they were quick to help and very friendly and patient as I had to go alone due to covid. The doctors are great!
Been coming here for 3 years now and had nothing but exceptional service from the medical staff. Everyone I came across have been extremely professional and courteous.
Its awsume
Horrible care. They cut a mole off my back and it still itches more than a year later. They treated it like a biopsy except never followed through. Very disappointing health service there.
This facility is fantastic. All the staff were just incredible when I checked into the urgent care tonight. I hadn’t felt so awful in a long time. My nurse PJ was very sweet and eased my nerves and Dr. Sawisky was very thorough with the tests he conducted. I was very impressed with the prompt care I received. Thank you!
I strongly recommend this to anybody in need of fast medical care... doctors are great and the staff is very nice ...
It's nice and quiet and you get full care as it you would in any emergency. Don't go if you've had a heart attack or stroke, but go if you have a less serious / life threatening illness or injury
In the last 5 years that I have been going to this facility, the wait times have been fantastic(less than an hour seems to be the norm with exception to 1 occasion)compared to over-extended Medi-Centres and city hospitals between 2-5 hrs. I find that that under 1 hour is reasonable for non-emergency care. Also, if the staff are "rude", I doubt that very much, as everyone has a bad day, so reasonably it may not be them who was the rude individual. Overall, I find that this has been the best facility in my years experience since it opened and will continue to use their Family Care/Urgent Care services and recommend their facility before anywhere else.
Went in right at 3pm on Sunday (they open at 3pm) and was number 21 for intake. The process of giving name, issue and providing health card and ID was done in about 15 minutes. After a little over 2 hours of waiting in the lobby I was moved to a private room. 90 minutes later I had still no been seen by a doctor. I did however witness multiple parents and children come and go as well as a few elderly people during that time. A few of the children that were seen before me had arrived over an hour and a half after I did. For the most part all the kids (in speaking with a few of the parents in the waiting room) were there because they had a cold. I understand how triage works (most urgent gets seen first) but this clinic did not seem to follow that process. I was and still am in severe pain as I may have either broken my foot or torn a ligament and because I was not screaming in pain when I arrived was ranked a 5. (5 being the least urgent). It is up to the front end staff to determine triage rank at time of intake and I guess they decided all kids, no matter what their issue get ranked a 4 or higher. After another 20 minutes I made the decision to just leave and hope my family doctor will be able to see me tomorrow. Another gentlemen in the room next to me had been waiting a little longer then me and he too decided to leave after seeing what was going on. Based on my ranking I would have been waiting until they closed to see the doctor and at that time would have been unable to get an x-ray or ultrasound if needed. This is a joke of an urgent care center unless you are a parent with a kid that has a cold. The way triage is designed to work is first come first served unless someone has an urgent matter that would take priority. It is not based on age as that is ageist. Someone should really take a look at their Intake forms and see if a pattern is present of ageism. I guess I know why people tend to go to the ER instead of this so called urgent care center. At least at the ER it is not up to some secretary at the front desk to decide who gets seen next.
The most disorganized, poorly run health facility I've ever seen in Alberta. Wildly under staffed, and the ones who are there could care less about what's going on. Left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Incredibly frustrating. Find somewhere else to go.
Gaslighting. I came in because of an urgent lung issue that needed immediate care. I was told that my symptoms didn’t happen, that I was mistaken. (Trust me, I have better things to do than take time off work to waste the provinces time and resources). The doctor didn’t even listen to my lungs or examine me. My regular GP was desperate to get me a test for a pulmonary embolism but they refused to do a simple blood test. My GP went over the report and the doctor denied I came in with any breathing issues, then contradicted himself. It’s the same old story of being a woman and having to advocate for yourself. Update: I finally was able to get treated at a different facility and the simple blood test urgent care refused to do- a DDimer, came back positive for a pulmonary embolism. I hope that doctor reads this review and reevaluates his “do no harm” policy.
The nurses were very nice but the doctor came in for MAYBE 2 minutes to examine me and my 8 week old who are both sick and was very standoffish/rude. I’ve been twice now and both times the wait was long (as expected for a walk-in clinic).
Don't come here if you want to be helped
This AHS facility will make you return multiple times before they provide any meaningful treatment. The only conclusion for this routine behavior is so they can bill AHS for additional patient visits. Fees for in person visits have been cut so they have found a work around it seems but at the expense of the patient. Doris May-Gee Sturtevant, MD wouldn’t treat my mothers urinary tract infection on June 18 even though my mother had gone and had a urinalysis done before a visit with this doctor. This doctor was annoyed that my mother had the audacity to go and have the test done first and told her to go back to that doctor. My mother was not examined and she was not treated by the doctor at this visit.. and I am sure the doctor billed Alberta Health service for this “visit”. My mom was in excruciating pain and she was sent home. My mother’s actual doctor is at this location as well and they said he could see her July 14. Today my mother is in the hospital, a different hospital with UTI, bladder and kidney infection in both of her kidneys she is now on heavy duty IV antibiotics. My mother’s urinalysis shows a Klebsiella pneumoniae infection that is spreading through her body All because this doctor at the East Edmonton health clinic withheld a prescription for antibiotics because It was this doctors preference that my mother go back to her doctor. This is a life threatening condition and this doctors office health center place does also function as an urgent care in the evening. There was no care and no urgency. What a waste of healthcare money, billing the province for visits where are you do absolutely nothing send the patient home to get worse only for the patient to end up in hospital at what cost? Early oral antibiotics is a lot cheaper and better for the patient than an IV bag full of antibiotics because the physicians negligence has allowed the infection to spread throughout the patient’s body. The sad part is this isn’t even the first time that a doctor has done this exact thing to her.
Thank s
really excellent care when i brought my preteen son with a suspected concussion
Welcome to the urgent care, they do NOT help patients, they do NOT treat patients and you will be strung along with nothing but lies, and more lies and more lies. Oh and let's not forget if they send you for a test they will NOT give you the paperwork for that test and will tell you to go back spend another 6 hours in urgent care to get that peice of paper but only AFTER you pay an over 100$ fee for it.
Useless clerks. These ladies do not know how to work a computer or they are dyslexic. They cannot book appointments to save their life. It also takes 15-20 days wait everytime to book an appointment. These secretaries are absolutely worthless. You’re affecting peoples lives with your incompetence. Please go work at McDonald’s. I’ve woken my whole family up for an appointment 3 times now and it either didn’t exist or we were always half an hour late. Which was not the case. I understand why they keep a peace officer at this location.
Incredibly poor experience after an accident at work left me in enough pain I was barely able to walk. The nurses and office staff were all great however the doctor ridiculed me indicating a was being dramatic, made me have to argue for crutches. 10 days later I hobbled into my family doctor office only to find out that I was walking on a broken foot and the original xrays showed a break not the sprain I was told I had by the doctor here.
I am reallly disappointed with East Edmonton clinic right now! I've been going there since I was 17 and for the most part it was ok but since that new respetionst was hired your lucky to get in shes rude and patronizing. I came in 2 months ago because my eye had swollen up and I couldn't see, She gets anger when I don't have my alberta health card on my stating that's very irresponsible behavior on my part, then today I call to see if I can get an appointment for the following week because I need Pergancy test done. She tells me my doctor isn't available so asked is there another doctor I can see, she tells me yes there are other doctors available for patients with real problems and I won't be scene till the 18th! I'm really considering going somewhere else I have never been so affended and disappointed in my life, don't go here unless you want to be patranised
I had fast and efficient care while being treated there! The staff I dealt with were all very pleasant, and friendly. I highly recommend this facility for any minor injuries or quick treatment.
I dont understand how 1 person ahead of me turns into 3 hr wait ?
Much quicker than an emergency department
Long line up ... My apartment at 4 pm ... non organized... they don't care abt the time ????
Today, all staff that attended to my son and I were attentive, polite and humanistic in their approach in properly diagnosing my son's ailment that has effected him for several weeks. Thank you so much!
Staff are professional and courteous. The wait time in Primary Care is minimal....usually in within 1-5 minutes of appointment time. Care is exceptional. After-hours clinic saw us quickly when family member was very sick and stayed past closing time until he was ready to be sent home. Services provided (i.e. medical, lab, dietitian, pharmacist, x-ray, ekg, etc, mental health) is great to have all in one place. Parking is easy and lots of it onsite.
Got there at 4pm and got sat in a room at 4:30 waited until 9:30pm and still didn’t get a doctor to check me. Had to leave they didn’t even come in and check on me to see if I was alive what a joke.
Best place ever
Great staff n doctor ...they really make u feel comfortable n take that extra time with ya ..making you feel like a person
Great doctor, minimal waits for appointments, convenient lab on-site.
If you have kids then dont come here ..it will be like forever or come on your day off ..if you have whole day to spend in this hospital.
very good place for inclusive care
Just get my vaccine over there.... very organized and awesome staff and quite place
I like my doctor, but the wait times are pretty bad (45 minutes in the little waiting room after the waiting room for a scheduled appointment), and the medical assistants' phone manner could definitely use some work. All in all, about as good as you're going to find for health care.
Staff is always friendly and wait time is usually pretty good.. always have a good experience!
Came here for a broken elbow, I was in and out of the clinic in 2 hours, the Doctor and nurses were extremely caring and friendly and professional. I highly recommend this place.
If someone is complaining about the wait time here, you should be ashamed of yourself. The staff is wonderful and do their jobs well; and you are seen in order of your needs, not who gets their first. Most urgent cases will be seen first. You are sitting in a hospital waiting room, in case something happens, and doctors will be there in a second if you truly need them. I have been here twice for my elderly mom: once we thought she may have a DVT, the other time, she hurt her hip. Both times we were seen quickly and she was treated effectively. Staff here is great and doctors are kind.
This place honestly baffled me. I didn’t mind the wait time, that’s fair and understandable. It was the staff that perplexed me. Not the triage staff, they were great. It was the staff in the back anyways, I was finally taken back to a room and told the doctor would be with me shortly. I waited for some time, and when he came, he took one look at my armpit(I was there for a wound check, so post minor surgery) and he pulled out the gauze filling the wound. And said that he was pretty much done, went to leave and told the nurse to clean my wound and fill it with gauze. The nurse literally said, “who me? I don’t do that. Nurses don’t do that.” (The last place I went where they did the minor surgery it was a STUDENT nurse who asked to fill my wound with gauze and wrap it up) they went back and forth for about 10 seconds, doctor walked out and the nurse followed, and walked back in with cloths and placed them by the sink. Told me to wash the wound myself and that’d he try and find someone to fill the gauze for me. So I cleaned as best as I could, and waited. All in all 10-15 minutes passed. So I decided to leave, because I’m sure that nurse wasn’t really looking for someone to fill my wound with gauze. Now I’m gonna go back to north east emergency clinic and tell them my arm may be reinfected because a bunch of careless healthcare workers off 112 ave didn’t know what they were doing.
I recently became a patient of Dr. Robertson at the East Edmonton Health Centre & I could not be more pleased. Dr. Robertson is friendly, knowledgable & thorough. She knows what she is talking about & she cares about her patients - it shows! In general the East Edmonton Health Centre is a clean & well kept facility with kind & helpful staff. Appointments run on time & I appreciate their free parking lot which always has many available spots. If looking for a new doctor, I would check here.
I would not recommend this facility . We came here for my kids blood works and wait for 4 bloody hours this health centre is dis organized understaff ,unsystematized facility
The staff showed great respect and care. I've been there when my GP was away and feel very confident with their service.
I wish I could give this place a lower than one (or zero) star but it's not an option.
Excellent doctors and nurses; courteous staff. They seen me through some very serious issues. However... there is one female doctor there who sometimes run this routine about refusing to treat you if you don't "trust" her. She's done it to me twice and I've heard her do it to at least three other patients. Just be nice and try to placate her. Otherwise, you can end up sitting in a patient examination room for hours and not seeing anyone. They offer all the traditional services plus Urgent Care in the evenings - much better than sitting all night in the ER of the big hospitals. If it's serious, it's best to go here because you'll be seen sooner - then sent by ambulance to a main hospital if need be.
This rating is purely about the reception and admin at the clinic. My doctor Doris is top notch and I would give a separate 5 star rating just for her! Getting to her was traumatic though. In a very full waiting room, and in a loud voice, the receptionist read my full name and phone number out loud, asked the reason for the visit and asked my vaccination status. I let her know this was all confidential information and politely declined to confirm any of that information based on privacy policy. She raised her volume as she responded asking again. When I declined again, she rolled her eyes. She then let us unknowingly stand in the section of the waiting room reserved for people with covid symptoms which is not good given my condition. I've been to several clinics and this is not standard practice at reception. And the way we were treated was aggressive, not patient centred as the clinic claims to be. Even though I love my doctor, I'm considering going elsewhere rather than give this clinic billable hours.
Wait time for a while. Staff were very patient with me and Raevyn.
Attempted to access the urgent care facilities. Was told to come back in 30 minutes. Not very helpful for and urgent matter is it? Ended up having to go to the ER.
Left previous Dr. due to a listless effort. However I was fortunate to choose a new Dr that listens and follows up thoroughly. Also, I noticed I'm the one that initiates the end of the visit by standing up. Never felt rushed. Dr Gaetano 5 stars in all aspects of the trade
Would not have given 1 star however I called at 9:45pm to ask whether they intake until 10:30pm or if that's when they leave the clinic. I was informed that they close at 10:30pm because the doors automatically close then however they don't leave until all pts are seen. I arrived at 10:05pm the doors were locked and the urgent care was closed. Pretty disappointed as I do not want to clog up the emergency room but wanted to get something checked out immediately. Unfortunately this is the only urgent care in Edmonton so what choice do we have.
The staff were all friendly and knowledgeable. Great service!
Friendly and helpful :)
After visiting my family doctor numerous times, on several related issues and after multiple tests, I was not informed that I had severe anemia. My issue was minimized and was allowed to reach an extent that I am dealing with life threatening complications. Do not waste your time and potentially endanger yourself while being told your problems must all be "just stress"
Dr. Marcu is the best. Very diligent and knowledgeable. Very kind and encouraging. Thank you. But again, who in this clinic is not? All of the staff keep themselves well informed and are very assiduous in their tasks. Respect and kindness abounds.
Great facility with access to many health-related services. They have a family clinic and urgent care clinic, x-ray, and lab, among other services available to the public. Their staff is usually pretty good, and their physicians are usually of good quality.
When this clinic moved into a residential neighborhood they promised they would respect the resisneti bylaws. Yet every single year Im kept up late at night by snow removal. This is not supposed to be done after 10 yet it's 11:14 and still going. Lack of sleep leads to stress and a weakened immune system. Which lead to more health issues. Every year I complain and they say they will take care but here I am again.
Staff are great but an older doctor we saw recently just wanted to rush us out. Didnt even want to hear out our concerns. My 1 year old ended up having an inflammation on his genitals (main concerned) Too bad I forgot her name
Been waiting in patient room for an hour and half and there’s no communication or at least a “he’ll/she’ll be with you shortly” worst experience ever!
My doctor is fabulous i am so grateful for Dr Dion and her team. However I had to drop the one star because of the super informed lady in the front ( she was shorter with short hair I believe she's Filipino) AHS says You are allowed one designated support person and the issue i was going in for involved him, and she kept saying he couldn't come inside, when clearly the health issue had to do with him. She goes on to say the support person is for people who don't speak English, wheelchair bound or have mental illness. YOU CAN'T SEE MENTAL ILLNESS and I deal with alot of mental health struggles such as PTSD and extreme anxiety. For this issue I needed my partner there not only for my mental health for a health issue thay effect both of us. And guess what, both the family care clinic and nurse, doctor let him in. So maybe check what you are saying.
cranky staff up front! Usually the one giving bracelets
Doctor prescribes antibiotics, inhaler, and nasal rinse, tells me to go to my family doctor for my regular prescriptions. Friday, I try. Family physician on holidays. Seen a Doctor at the Urgent clinic, second time in two days, sent me away, refused to treat me as my regular physician would treat me, even after explaining I am sick, bronchitis, can’t keep going to Doctors, Doctor shopping is not recommended. Plus a complete waste of time and money. Sick, verified I am sick, verified I have no medication, still, no treatment. Doctor will not allow you to have a say in your treatment. Totally disrespectful. I requested the advice of a social worker on duty, I highly recommend asking a social worker to come with you to see the Doctor. It is not what I expected, and believe our city is in urgent need of a patient focused health care facility. If the Doctor refuses treatment, the clinic shouldn’t be paid. It will be three Doctors who refuse to treat chronic disease. Prescribed me a medication that can cause ulcers, after notifying Doctor that I am unable to take the medication prescribed to me. Gave me no choice. No options. Tells me to accept the medicine that may or may not cause ulcers, or go across the street to another clinic. Didn’t even listen to my lungs, says, I do not have bronchitis. So not sick, try the clinic next door. Not treatment at all. Unfair treatment. Nurse said not all Doctors can treat everyone. So we have unqualified physicians in Edmonton who are reading from the computer and unable to write prescriptions. What kind of barbaric Province is this? Urgent need of Canadian trained Doctors!
I cannot thank enough to the center's nurses!!! They have been a MAJOR help and support for me as a first time mom with my baby since the day we arrived home from hospital! Very kind and understanding, I was wowed by their attitude and the service they provide. Especially impressed when a nurse came home to see me and my baby as I was not able to go to the center myself. God bless you and your work! We need more people around the world like you guys
Went to the urgent care centre for an x-ray, the staff were efficient and I didn't have to wait too long. the place itself is pretty clean and the people working there were friendly so I would recommend this clinic.
This health Centre is terrible. My mother has a serious infection and on July 15 my mother came YET again into urgent care for additional antibiotics. Dr. Cristoforo Giuseppe Gaetano offered my mother 1 Pill, 1 Single antibiotics for 1 day to “hold her over” we’re not even sure what he ment holding her over for. This physician is an absolute joke this is not any kind of standard of care he told her there was nothing he could do for her. He could go back to school maybe review infections and disease maybe because those can be serious life-threatening conditions. My mother has been dealing with this infection for more than 30 days, Dr. Cristoforo Giuseppe Gaetano was the 8th physician that my mother went to see for this issue. He also misrepresented in the patient records the nature of my mothers concern. My mother saw a 9th physician today through the TELUS Mycare app it was a virtual visit her first and that doctors in Calgary agreed with her that she is having recurring UTI and should be treated based on those guidelines and not based on what the physician feels like that day. Every physician that did not help her we are going to be reporting those visits as suspected fraud to the provincial hotline, The notes in the my chart app misrepresent my mothers concerns at the visits and they didn’t help her. Billing the province for patient visits were a physician did absolutely nothing for a patient with a life threatening infection is unethical. 9 doctors appointment in 30 days is wasteful and ridiculous and cruel to the patient.
Came here yesterday for urgent care a bit after opening around 4:00pm because I suspected I fractured my thumb got triaged right away which was nice, however the nurse there was very unprofessional swearing and using profanity (in a harmless way) however as a healthcare professional I do expect better. Anyways, got into a room very fast within 10 minuets of being triaged and waitied 15-20mins for the doctor to come see me, she was nice, very efficent and sent me for an xray. The wait for my results was absoulty the longest part over 45mins for that. Overall, the doctor was very nice and professional its the nurses I don't reccomend. They clearly don't want to work there, you can hear them chatting and swearing from your room. seen many of them on their cellphones just having a ball. Most of my stars goto the doctor and the fast in and out but I still dont feel completly sure that my finger is okay and left feeling like I wasn't treated fully or cared for, just another paycheck. Talk to your staff have them be a little bit more professonal and caring. I'd rather wait at ER for the nicer nurses and throughough treatment than be seen quick
Its very professional which is good But the front door person thats ask covid questions is very slow .. it should be done online like all the other medical places which saves lits of time for every one when they confirm the appt ... ????
I found the staff helpful and very informative.
