I have only been seeing Dr. Barbera for a short while now but she has made a dramatic difference in my life. I never thought I would ever see a psychologist but with the troubles I was having I felt I had no choice but to talk to someone. Vocalizing my innermost thoughts and feelings isn't something that has ever come easy for me but Dr. Barbera has the knack for making me feel comfortable enough to just be me and speak freely. Dr. Barbera and her staff are incredibly skilled therapists. I have been seeing Dr. Barbera for complex Post traumatic stress disorder, severe depression and additional anxiety due to covid pandemic. Dr. Barbera is kind, compassionate, knowledgeable and patient. She is easy to talk with, understands me and l highly recommend her professional psychological services. She has supported and taught me how to cope and heal through very difficult suffering. In therapy l have learned many healing and coping skills, for my anger, abuse, assault, sexual assault, shame , grieving loss and death, intense emotions, numbness, past and present traumas, family difficulties, relationship issues, severe and general anxiety, flashbacks, loneliness, self hate, self harm, suicide. l am healing and becoming a confident , compassionate, happy whole person on the road to recovery and self discovery. My personal growth has accelerated with Dr. Barbera’s care. She uses various psychology approaches that are suitable for me. I trust Dr. Barbera and this is something l never thought l was able to do! My difficulties in Life have become much more manageable and My family has benefited from the changes l have made too. I found Jennifer a few years ago and I am so happy I did. I was at my lowest, I was severely depressed, having breakdowns all the time, everything in my personal life was falling apart. I had never been to a therapist before and I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. Jennifer has helped me so much with my depression, personal struggles, relationship issues, stress and more. I still remember after my first appointment how happy I felt, a relief. Jennifer creates a welcoming and safe space where I can open up. She is compassionate, caring, understanding and doesn't judge. Additionally hes never pushes me to reveal more then I'm comfortable. I had nothing but Jennifer when I first starting seeing her. Online reviews on an unpoliced site are always questionable. This however is why I am posting for what it is worth. Dr Barbera has been seeing me for about 3 years off and on. I have always been skeptical and reserved in expecting change from talking to people. I started seeing her originally for reasons that made it impossible for me not to try something. I have gine back to see her due to a few other times when I needed to do something, anything to find change and clarity. This is the first time that I can truly say that I am starting to see changes in me. This is due to her patience and diligence in seeing me over a long time and my patience and drive to make a difference. Anyone expecting overnight change from any counselling is doomed to fail. Mental health is a dynamic and difficult practice. If you want to make a change or figure out a way through your challenge, Dr Barbera is an option you can consider. Nobody is perfect for everyone. For me, she was a great fit. Compassionate. Questioning. Most importantly, she made me feel safe exploring myself and my thoughts. I would recommend her when you are looking for the same.
