My first DBT module was not the best experience. I was frustrated that they don’t do direct billing or some kind of payment plan. I mean, your average person does not have $1000 just sitting around. I did not like the facilitators, as they made the environment feel like an elementary classroom and I often felt patronized. At first, I couldn’t get over how they require you to be on camera for “confidentiality reasons.” How would they ever know if there isn’t someone else off-screen in the room? I eventually got over this and just accepted how silly it is. I had no intentions of continuing into the next module with LH&A. Though when I found out the next module would be taught by different instructors, I decided to keep going. My second module was much, much better. Jessica H. and Sarah M. were great. They made the environment much more comfortable and were very personable. I sincerely hope LH&A go back to in-person sessions, because I think we’re losing a lot of the experience and benefits of being in the same room as the group. The cost also does not appear to reflect the money they’re saving by not having us in-person.

A bit of a wait to see someone, but well worth it. Helped me through a very difficult time in my life.

I am attending both group and individual therapy here and have never had a better relationship with the faculty of any mental health treatment center. You get back what you put into therapy. They are incredibly helpful and very supportive.

Maddox Evans

Used my dead name in an intake call. Then pushed a $2800 intake assessment that I didn't ask for.

I’ve had a discouraging experience with Lesley Hartman & Associates. Their structure is very rigid and unforgiving. My privacy was violated, and my personal information was shared with the other members of my group therapy in an email, this was a mistake and it has caused me a lot of stress. It’s important to keep in mind when going somewhere like LH&A that you are a client, and NOT a patient of theirs. The admin is hard to reach as the reception is a 3rd party service. I have experienced mistakes made in scheduling, communication, and last minute changes to facilitators. I felt a lot of pressure to rebook and sign up for the next group as “ There are only 10 spots per group, no exceptions” and at one point I was denied a refund, and faced being kicked out of group for missing time when I was sick. Right now I’m in a group with 11 people and the room that groups are held in struggled to hold 10 adults already. DBT Offers incredible skills, and there are a lot of caring and specially trained people working at Lesley Hartman, I still wouldn’t send someone I care about to this business as it is NOT a trauma friendly environment in my opinion. I encourage clients of Lesley Hartman and associates to request a copy of their file. I was really surprised by lack of content in mine.

Terrible experience with Lesley Hartman. Paid close to $3000 up front for their DBT program and completed he 1st 3 modules and payed $150hr for bi-weekly counseling . I had to leave on a out of town business trip for 2 months and gave them 2 months notice that I couldn't attend the final module. Asked if I could attend their following module and they denied it, kept the money, and ignored my emails and calls. Asked to speak with Lesley and kept getting lower level staff who just repeated their rigid policies. They are milking the most vulnerable and insurance companies in a cash grab, look elsewhere for DBT!

Tina Segura

Unique among treatment programs I've experienced because they force you to sign away your basic rights as a patient to participate in their program, when you're at your most desperate. Would not recommend to anyone. Feels as though I've been taken advantage of

Chad Hammerhorn

Crippling alcoholism would be both cheaper and substantially more effective than subjecting yourself to this abrasive and exhausting process.

Alex Bragg

Arrogant, rigid and disrespectful. Truly a second rate treatment centre. I pity anyone who is sent here as you will end up worse off mentally and financially than when you entered.
