It was extremely frustrating to find a counsellor who was suited to the kinds of issues I was dealing with when I first started looking. How is a person supposed to know how to select a therapist who is a match and who is also competent? (I tried two counsellors in the Victoria area by just "picking eenie-meenie-mynie-moe" from the net and both were absolute duds. A total waste of my time and money and the situation I was dealing with was urgent. Then, I ran into George Beilay at Waypoint Counselling and I could tell from our very first meeting that I was in the right place. First, he heard me out (at no charge no less) to see if he was suited to my needs and we discussed that - and a few other options that were available to me. I can't begin to say how important it was to me to "get it right" on my third try. My situation was pretty serious. It turns out that we "clicked" well and I got exactly the help I needed in a quick, efficient, respectful and professional manner. Since concluding my sessions there, I have suggested Waypoint to several friends to when they needed help. I wouldn't recommend a friend go anywhere else in Victoria because I trust Waypoint. I feel very comfortable with how their system works. I'm so grateful for having found the place. Compared to the other two places I went, all I can say is that there is no comparison whatsoever.

George is both knowledgeable and warm which makes him easy to talk to. He makes you feel secure and that what you have to say is important and he's actually listening. I cannot recommend waypoint enough. I've been seeing Samantha Young for about 6 months now she's helped me so much. She's teaching me coping skills so when my worries arise I am more at ease with handling them. I'm learning why certain emotions arise instead of punishing myself for feeling them.
