I am a patient of Dr. Levinsky, he has been working with me since I was 8 years old and I’m turning 18 next month. The comments people are leaving is astounding. First off he doesn’t think medication is the answer to everything in-fact he encourages me to seek out other ways to help deal with my depression. He has never given up on me. And has always pushed his hardest to get me what I needed. My mom has had to literally bring me in kicking and screaming and he’d Make time for me. He’s helped get me into casa house and school and the royal Alec. He does listen to your opinion in-fact when I don’t talk he literally sits there and waits for me to respond. He’s very understanding and listens to my concerns. He has never given up on me and has literally been with me since I was a little kid. He cares a lot about my well being and always asks what I think I need and what can be done to change things. You people need to understand meds don’t fix everything you need to seek professional help as in treatment and therapy. On be half of my mother and brother they enjoy him as our psychiatrist. And to the people saying he’s not listening to their kids. If you’re kids then he’s not going to do something that’s really big on just what a kid says. That’s on the parent to do at a young age. They can’t make choices for themselves and I don’t blame dr Levinsky being weary about taking everything a 10 year old says seriously. He cared what I had to say when I was older and started letting me take over but when I was a kid I didn’t really have a say. Which was probably for the best I used to think I had OCD, and what if I was taking OCD meds that wouldn’t be good. He’s actually amazing at his job infact on my 17th birthday he diagnosed me with borderline personality disorder, he couldn’t legally do it but it was on file that I had it but it wasn’t concert. Because I have to be 18. And when I couldn’t get a DTB therapist he wrote it a letter to help ensure my progress. To the moms on this form talking down you need to really realize what you’re saying. He isn’t the all knowing god. There’s only so much he can do. And I love Lori. If you have a kid and are needing a child psychiatrist he’s amazing. He won’t give up on your kid no matter what. And he isn’t judge mental at all. Please take what these people have to say with a grain of salt, I’ve been seeing him for 8 years. And he’s helped me grow a lot and has worked very hard to help me get to we’re i am now. Wish I could give him 10 stars.

He's a pediatric Psychiatrist. He seemed to be a good Dr. at first but tended to push medications as answers to problems. He wasn't very receptive to our suggestions or other Dr's opinions and would actually get upset if we brought anything up as if we were second guessing him. He also didn't listen to our child's concerns. We were with him for about 10 years but were told it would take 1-2 years to get in to see another Psychiatrist in Edmonton so we felt no choice but to stay. He was working at the Neurodevelopmental Clinic at the Grey Nuns Hospital and when it closed we were finally able to get a referral to another Psychiatrist which was fast tracked. The new Psychiatrist felt the medications that were prescribed were actually causing our child's mental health issues and now our child doesn't take anything and is doing very well. Even the diagnosis that was given is being questioned by the new Dr. These issues were brought up in the past but Dr. Levinsky said if our child stopped the medications, after 2 months our child could no longer be his patient. Over all, I would not recommend this Dr. and if you do take your child to him I would recommend asking your GP for a referal to another Psychiatrist so that you can at least get on a list to get a 2nd opinion.

My son has seen dr.lavinsky for 10 years or more now. I find the doctor himself not to bad but you feel very rushed when in his office and end up waiting 1.5 houra to see him sometimes. The absolute worst part and i mean worst part of this clinic is his secretary lori. She is unbelievably rude and has no people or phone skills. For the position she has she seems to think she is some sort of doctor whith how she thjnks she can speak to people. I have never been happier that my son is finished with this clinic and having to hear her ignorance every 6 weeks.

My son has been coming to Dr. Levinsky for years. He has grown so much in this time. Yes, we do use medication, but also are involved in counseling, healthy diet, mindfulness exercises, good sleep practices. Dr. Lewinsky will tell me when I'm wrong so that my son will get treated the way he needs for his health. I appreciate that.

I don't agree with the other comments about this doctor. He helped my son. He is a nice man and he is provides effective medication which may be needed for treatment.
