I have been very hesitant to write this review because it was only until recently did I receive demeaning care. I have been coming here for almost 10 years. The office has gone through many changes in the last 5 years from structure and staff turnover.
I have received excellent help from these wonderful people Dr. Ferris, Dr. Macavoy and Dr. Macalhan to name a few. Until recently I was transferred to Dr. Jay. At that time the change in my circumstances required more medical advice. The doctors prior have managed to help me keep stable for years. But at that point when I needed advise Dr. Jay reprimanded me and made me feel like a lab rat rather than a person. He seemed more interested in the outcome of alternative ways I was trying rather then for my well being. At the very end he made me cry and told me he had no time for me and basically said I will not get anywhere. With my experiences with about 6 different psychiatrist, 6 different personality's, 6 different bedside manners I was able to work with different doctors to remain healthy and stable, until Dr. Jay. I know your health is in your own control, but you also need a caring doctor with a gracious bedside manner to work with. I highly suggest anyone seeking help, to find any other doctor than Dr. Jay.
I highly recommend South/North Delta mental health to reconsider their new structure and seriously consider going back to the older system where doctors stay with patients longer than 3 months. It not a enough time to build a reliable relationship and get proper care and stability.
