As I was starting therapy and finally opening up my therapist was taken off my case and placed back in the emergency room. I went from having an appointment every week or two, to being waitlisted for upwards of 6 months to finally get a call back to book an appointment 2 months from the call date. As well as being informed that it would be up to a YEAR to get a follow up appointment. Needless to say the discouraging news stopped me from pursuing further treatment and since I have regressed.
Also requested to have a copy of my diagnosis sent to a clinic in PEI called Marijuana for Trauma and had my request denied due to the fact that the clearly old fashioned Dr. Moss did not agree that I should use marijuana products (in my case CBD, which I should add is not psychoactive nor addictive) to treat my mental illness. I struggle with addiction issues on top of chronic pain and have been doing everything I can to find a treatment plan that I cannot abuse. Thanks to this rejection of request I will continue to struggle in physical and mental pain until someone can help me or until I am forced to take pain management into my own hands, namely smoking marijuana (which due to the process and its psychoactive compound THC, will make my anxiety much worse), alcohol to dull the anger I feel when I think about how mind numbingly easy this issue is to treat, and then painkillers naturally because what works better at treating physical AND emotional pain than opiod painkillers!? Thanks for nothing Cumberland Mental Health Services. The only thing you've proven good for is to remind me why I never want to live anywhere near Cumberland county again.
