The councillors are very sneaky, untrustworthy,lying individuals. If you were to have a slip no matter how slite and are honest about with them, the councillors will give you a false sense of security, talk you into coming in with your children and then refuse to let you leave until you call the Children's Aid Society and explain everything about your slip I've seen it for myself it happened to me and at least one woman had her children took it away from her that very day, myself I had a worker and I had full intentions of giving full disclosure when she came back from holidays the counselor's refused to accept that and still made me make the phone call and my grandson was not taken thankfully because my worker was aware of the honesty and the situation of the slip. After that day I lost all faith and trust in the counselors and G Tweed. On the whole it was an amazing wonderful place to go until I lost that trust

30 years later, I am still sober after arriving hopeless, demorolized, defeated spiritually, physically and morally at this centre where, thanks to the wonderful staff, counseling, AA meetings and the other guests, I found hope, forgiveness, a higher power and my way to recovery. AA is still and will always be part of my life. I give back and maintain my sobriety. Thank you Jean Tweed Centre.

Was betrayed,mocked lied to by these counsellors, they are clueless about addiction and do not care if you are suicidal. They failed me several times leaving me with absolutely no help and I had no help to begin with. Instead of advocating for me they sided with the YWCA and stonewalled me and ostracized me gave me no help. Felt very cold and heartless. Their privilege and the way they see us and look down upon us has almost crushed my spirit for many years. It was like walking on eggshells trying to ask for help from them.
