REVIEWS OF Blues City Psychiatry IN Cumberland House

Diana Foster

I think this office is fantastic. Everyone is super nice and their new office in Cordova is super comfy. Solid choice to use Blues City.

Erica Burnett

Only giving two stars because I like my physician but, the clerical staff is very rude! I really miss the patient and friendly office assistant. Each time that I have spoken with this guy Daniel I have felt welcomed and could hear the lack of professionalism and impatience in his voice.

Leslie Aldrich

Dr. Raj is great. He actually takes time to discuss options, side effects, etc. I felt very comfortable with him and would recommend him to anyone.

Tricia

I was VERY hesitant to see a psychiatrist, even though I knew i needed one. They were one of very few who took my insurance and I looked more into them and got a good vibe. At my first visit I wasn't bombarded with questions that made me uncomfortable and It was pretty laid back. Dr. Raj Mukatira is someone I would definently recommend seeing. The entire staff is friendly and I have not had one bad or inconvient visit so far and I've been seen here April or May.

Taylor Smith

Andrea and Dr. Raj are incredible! Edit: Dr. Raj switched me to Emily and it's not so great so I’m going elsewhere now.

I've been a patient of Melissa Foner for 3 years now. She is truly amazing and listens to you.

I've had a very good experience at Blues City!

Absolutely terrible. The MD of this office is only actually in office once a month, and does not know or understand how to run her own practice. She is EXTREMELY unprofessional, and treats her staff like poor slaves. Dr Raj Mukatira however is a phenomenal human being and a great NP. The office staff works very hard, but never gets acknowledged for what they do; there's only 3 people juggling everything for 4 providers. Very spoiled office.

Alisa Waltz

Dr Mukatira is extremely professional. She demonstrates genuine care and concern for all patients and employees. She is vested in the well being of others and helping patients become the best version of themselves. I am proud to be a part of her team.

I have been transformed! I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Shubi Mukatira and her Transformation Center. I was suffering from depression for many years. I came to Blues City Psychiatry a few months ago and Dr. Shubi suggested the Transformation Center. I am so thankful that she did. It is a beautiful, tranquil place with awesome therapy groups led by fantastic therapists. It was very helpful to see that others have some of the same problems that I did and I even made some friends there. I learned to use skills to help me become more respectful of myself and to deal with life. I would recommend Blues City Psychiatry and the Transformation Center to anyone who wants to feel better!

I see Melissa Foner each visit. She is knowledgeable, compassionate, and professional. I know that she is there for me should I need her. She’s the best!

Dont go here! They have zero interest in your care or comfort! Appts take at least 8 weeks and that's to see Melissa who is not a doctor and has little care of your health concerns. I was called on multiple days to confirm the appt leading up to it, so I was aware their office staff was not communicating well. I was sent a link to Patient Fusion by Blues City, which I did as asked and filled out my history on the web site. When I arrived for my appointment (parking is a nightmare, leave early!), I was told by a young woman receptionist that seemed very annoyed I had interupted her from her fruit punch, that I had to fill out all the paper work again. I asked about the Pat. Fusion and she really got an attitude. I gaveup and hoped who I was seeing would be more professional. After filling out all my paper work AGAIN, I was led to a room where a young woman was sitting. She had a big STUDENT tag on her lab coat and informed me she'd be sitting in. This is something that should be ASKED of a paying customer, not told to them, and not even by the professional I was seeing. Due to how poorly Melissa handled them wanting the student to observer, I said I was uncomfortable with such. I made it very clear I was not interested in whatever the newest on the market medications are...I prefer drugs that have been "out" for a while. The therapist that referred me had assured me drug therapy could be temporary, not life long. Melissa barely listened before telling me she wanted to give me the newest drug on the market, also the most expensive. She seemed to think bc I have insurance it was ok to prescribe a drug that cost $1000 a month! I asked how long treatment would be and was informed "the rest of your life." Once I was clear I was not at all comfortable with her drug recommendations, she continually pushed some new hospital that had just opened, crest soemthing or another, gushing that the owner of Blues City was also now the director of something or another at Crest whatever. The owner of Blues City has obviously been spread to thin. There is NO professionalism from the clerical staff or Melissa. The student just sitting there with out me being asked should have been enough to make me turn around and leave instead of spending an hour not being heard. It's very obvious this place gets kick backs from the drug reps and probably crest whatever hopsital. Please find some one else. Don't go here if you are already upset. They have no care for the illnesses they are treating and how difficult it is to have mental health problems. After the 3rd time Melissa tried to push the er at crestwood for crisis, I asked her if she'd ever experienced an er on a psych order her self. She hadn't but yet felt so smart and superior she assured me it was a fine process. I don't care how much education you have, anyone that blatantly ignores a clients request to avoid the newest most expensive drugs, has an clerical staff that is almost angry they have to do their jobs, and then pushes an place/experience they have not tried themself as being good isn't much of a professional. Thanks to Melissa I also gave up my other therapy as she reminded me how awful this industry is and motivated by money and a fancy office in White Station Tower, not actually caring for those that need help.

For a long time I only saw a social worker for my health but when I was put in a mental hospital it became apparent that I needed to see a psychiatrist as well. My social worker recommended me to see Dr. Shubi and I wasn't a huge fan. I need someone who just strikes a conversation but then I was informed that I'd be seeing her nurse practitioner on a regular basis her name is Allyson Williams and long story short I've been here for 4 years now! I highly recommend Allyson!

My experience thus far has been excellent! I see Melissa Fonner and she is knowledgeable and in tuned to your mental/medical concerns. She asked appropriate questions and seems genuinely compassionate about helping people through lifelong or rough patches in life. As far as the student Doctors. That doesn't bother me. Hell, they've got to learn too. The office administration is ok.

This was the only place I could find to get an appointment. The experience was horrible. I was prescribed random antidepressants without much time in an actual appointment. When the person who prescribed finally landed on one that worked, there was no more support. I had a number that I was supposed to be able to call if I had questions, but I consistently got a voicemail. Even though I left a message every time, I rarely was called back. When trying to get my records transferred, there was no response from Blues City Psychiatry. I am still not able to get needed information or records. Additionally, I sometimes had to wait 45 minutes or more for my scheduled appointment time. People there were nice, but my experience was overall frustrating.

If you’re reading this, do yourself a favor a make an appointment! I left BCP feeling so much more hopeful about my life. They care, they listen, and they really HEAR you. I can’t recommend them enough.

I truly enjoyed working @ Blues City Psychiatry as the Office Manager. I had one of the best experience working with and for BCP. Dr. Mukatira and her staff works together as a team. I was overly excited to help the practice grow by recruiting Melissa Forner from CBU. Suraj was another addition to the practice under my management. Together we were more than employees, we were a family working together to help those in need of care. I have the highest respect for all the providers at Blues City Psychiatry and applaud them for all they do to care for the community in need of their services. Dr. Mukatira is awesome about having outside professional come in to make sure her staff is trained in the areas they need help in. That shows her willingness to help her team become more efficient in their job duties. I enjoyed my experience and all the educational programs I attended to help me grow. Thank you Dr. Mukatira and Blues City Psychiatry for the wonderful opportunity to be apart of your vision. I miss you all!!

Trying to make an appointment and no one will ever answer the phone. At this point I have called multiple times within the past hour and now they are just dodging my calls. As soon as it starts to ring they send it to voicemail. Will never return to this office due to unprofessionalism.

I’ve been seeing Raj Mukatira for almost two years. He is caring and capable. He got my medication right after a few months, no other doctor was able to get it “right” in years of treatment.

Great clinic with extremely nice and professional providers and staff! I had a great opportunity to do my psych rotation at this wonderful clinic and I was very fortunate. I was very impressed with the way the providers cared for and treated patients and staff, they even arranged for a yoga instructor to come one day and she engaged all of us in a mindful and spiritually healing yoga session, this was a very fun and a remarkable experience! Dr. Mukatira, Melissa and Raj are awesome individuals and great providers, they always cared and made us feel as an integral part of this wonderful practice.

Was late 10 min due to trouble finding office. Was told Melissa had gone out since I was late. Made another appointment 1 month and a half later even though no meds and another doctor referral and my mom passed away and I had to cancel. Called to get another appointment and was told by receptionist they did not reschedule people who see people who cancelled appointments. I guess parents dying don't qualify as good reason. Not sure anyone needs this kind of doctor.

These people are White Collar Drug Dealers, they just dope people up ,take their money and send them on their way, No treatment,No therapy ,just DOPE!!!, I wounldnt advise nobody to come here,id go see a Witch Doctor before I go see these Quack "Doctors".

Charles Pittman

They use inexperienced practitioners that give you incorrect medical advice and they push brand name drugs for kickbacks. You're not gonna talk to an actual doctor (Raj) except for about 10 minutes during your first visit.

I have seen Nurse Practitioner Melissia Foner for over 4 yrs. She is very professional compassionate and listens to what I am saying. She prescribes the best medications that will best treat my mental illness. She is very good and will recommend her to everyone. She cares about me. Never had a problem with any appointment .

Great Clinic! Best one for my adult son and he's tried a lot of psychiatric offices. He rarely waits more than 10 minutes. Dr Raj listens, cares and has a very holistic approach. Also, he is very knowledgeable about meds and other natural treatments. Thank you Dr Raj and Blues City Psychiatry.

When in need of help, was told by doctor at this clinic to see my PCP when really needed a mental health professional.

Dr. Raj Mukatira treated my husband, who is a 100% disabled Veteran, horribly. He doesn't return phone calls nor does he understand PTSD. Don't go here. His assistant Andrea has always been very kind though.
