To this day the firm has a rating of 2.4 out of 5 and that score was based on 127 reviews.
As you can read, its rating is really scarce, and it is based on a very large number of feddbacks, so we can conclude that the score is quite faithful. If people have bothered to rate when they've done well, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to place feddbacks when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Psychiatrist corresponds to the category of Hospital.
They have no organization. Nurse was rude.
I don't have a family doctor, so I called in to see if my issue was an ER issue or if I should not waste their time and go to a clinic, and the person who answered told me to "figure it out". I understand liability issues, but that was just rude. She didn't even ask me any questions about what was wrong with me. This is my experience with every visit to this location. Meanwhile, the clinic said that they would be happy to help me out, and would get me a referral to an alternate hospital if necessary.
Wife went in on a Saturday for chronic stomach issues and heartburn. She went in at 4 PM and it is now 12:50 AM and she hasn't been called yet. Will not be going to this hospital anymore, would be quicker to drive to Ottawa, get looked at, and drive back here than it would be to wait here.
I feel I'm in a third world country sitting in the e.r. The chairs are cracked and disgusting. The wait times are ridiculous. I completely understand emergencies take precidence but people who are feeling ill and in pain should not be made to wait hours upon hours just to be seen. I'm embarrassed to say this is our health care system. I would gladly pay more tax dollars to see it improved. This is our new and improved facility? I'm not rating the staff here. I'm rating the facility and the way it is structured. If I were rating the staff I would give them full stars. In the two times we have been here the nurses and doctors have always been pleasant and dealt with our issues in a productuctive way. Now if the hospital could revamp it's system we would have a truly great community hospital one to be proud of.
Girlfriend had hip replacement and staff seemed to be helpful but student nurses are ignorant
Just a wonderful bunch of compassionate experts doing their jobs to the highest ability. I went in for my first ever day surgery and every single person involved was upbeat, warm, welcoming and patient. They soothed all my fears, were personable and professional beyond measure and made me feel surrounded by people who love what they do and are excited by the prospect of helping people. Even the student nurse was exceptional (shout out to Lorenzo L!).
The triage experience here is simply horrible. The nurse acts as a superior being triage 1. That superiority delussion is even more pronounced if you happen to be a member of a visible minority. As if being ill wasn't enough you get somewhat a B class treatment.
Gave the lady doing the screening for me 8 years worth of imaging reports to refer to for her reference but she used one from 2015 instead of the most recent ones. Also she actually hurt my chest during the ultrasound, wth. So what if the staff are friendly and courteous, they’re supposed to do their job right.
This hospital does not provide quality care for every patient. Discriminating against unvaccinated patients, they did not allow partner to be present for c-section nor a friend who held a Quebec vaccine passport. She should have a right to have the emotional support of whoever during such a significant moment. The lack of care and compassion is disgusting and intolerable.
What do say about Cornwalls Community Hospital, well its the best service to come right out of the medieval period, the difference being leeches are actually quicker and more hospitable then the staff. The nurses are overworked and limited with resources, the Doctors barely register their patients, and if your in a serious condition be patient and wait 7 and 8 hours for someone to register. If Hell exists they would do their best to copy the cornwall healthcare system. For Instance in the psychiatric unit, they had an elderly man with Alzheimer's , he was NOT a psychiatric patient, simply an old man with Alzheimer's who should have been at a long term care facility. He was a harmless old man, who spent most of his days wandering the corridors, several times he would urinate in public, the nurses barely cleaned up, and when they did would crack jokes. Other Times the psychiatric patients had to help this man, because the staff were to busy or couldnt deal with the problem. That was in the psychiatric unit. If you want evidence of a health care system falling apart, come to cornwalls hospital. Bring the pop corn, the only thing its great for is cure for good humor.
Always had good service. Staff we dealt with were always pleasant. Then again, I didn't go there as an emergency patient.
I’ve had nothing but the BEST experiences at the Cornwall Hospital. Quick turnaround, friendly staff, totally efficient. Thanks for everything you do and keep up the good work! 5 stars!!
I attended the Cornwall Community Hospital: CCH on Sept 10 2017. with a kidney stone in terrible pain. I was looked after and treated very efficiently. The longest wait was to get to Triage. Once there i was brought to a bed and treated immediately. All nurses and the Dr were very professional and very nice. I could not ask for better any service. Thanks for looking after me.
Go there to get checked out and you wait so long that the problem worsens
This is a stupid hospital. One doctor, like really sad. I have been here all night and I thought it would be fast cuz there was 4 people ahead of me. Just absolutely ridiculous and only 1 person got called. So theres still 3 people ahead of me. Come on either open clinics on weekends or bring another doctor in
Staff is awesome! All the years I have had to go to this hospital, only one small complaint about one of their staff's remarks but ya know what? I have gotten that in all cities.
If their computers don't work then they have no idea what's wrong with you. There's always only one doctor on in that big building and the wait time is half a day so you have time to drop dead. If you have a severe migraine and somehow make it to the hospital, then they still make you wait until you are in so much pain you hope to die, then finally getting seen they give you meds and make you wait in a waiting room with people that talk non stop and in the bright light. I'd rather stay home and be torchured by the migraine for 24 hours then sit through that.
Most of them are Quacks they don't know what they're doing I went there because I wasn't feeling good felt like I was coming down with flu they treated me for a lung infection and gave me a needle twice a day in the stomach for almost a week my stomach was purple finally a doctor walked in and told me I had a heart attack and sent me to the Ottawa Heart Institute the doctors they are freak and when they saw what they had done to me so they had to flush out my system because of what Cornwall had done that took four days before they could start treating me for my heart attack they told me at Ottawa I had 2 heart attacks the doctors in Ottawa rate the doctors here in Cornwall as a Class D doctor barely passed medical school
I've been there a few times for the various clinics and it has been really good for me. I moved out here from Montreal, where the hospitals and wait times are really bad. This is almost enjoyable! It has all been speedy and professional.
I have never liked CCH. Slow service, unclean atmosphere, to name a few. I was brought to the hospital from school last November for an infection and they kept me because of my heart rate. They ran several unnecessary tests on me and took blood from me several times because they were bored. I told them that I have a needle fear and they had no sympathy, and thar my anxiety effects my heart rate. I was kept over night for no reason and to make things better my nurse ripped my OV out of my arm and there was blood and quite a bit of it. Do NOT go to this hospital.
Took my son in for sprained wrist hoping for a quick x-ray. It has been almost 2 years since I have been in the Emergency department here. I was dreading going again because the last time I was in with my mom it was a total nightmare! When I arrived this time I was shocked by some of the changes. The rude clerk that was there last time seems to have been replaced with someone who really showed compassion and empathy. The horrible smell that used to woft from the washrooms has been replaced with a pleasant smell of a bleachy cleaning smell (I actually witnessed someone clean the washrooms 2 or 3 times while we were there) I asked the janitor if he was bored (joke) and he told me that the new rule was they are to clean them every couple of hours around the clock! Quite a pleasant young fellow. The old, dark cheap fluorescent lighting that used to give me a depressing feeling and a bad headache was now replaced with bright almost sunshine like lighting (it actually put me in a better mood) Unfortunately, the wait time was the only part that did not improve and may have actually gotten worse. My son was diagnosed with ADHD a few years ago and after about 5 hours, we (he) decided that he would live with the pain rather than wait any longer. Yesterday we decided to try our luck in Glengarry. We did get an Xray a little bit quicker then in Cornwall but not much. Glengarry staff were not as kind to us as at Cornwall and it was definitely not as clean ( not a single cleaning staff cleaned any of the washrooms in the almost 4 hours in Glengarry) Overall, I was pleasantly surprised at the direction that our Hospital has gone in the last few years. I am quite proud to call it my community hospital. I understand that wait times can vary from day to day and hour to hour so I really can't fault them for that I would definitely recommend our hospital to others. To all the Emergency staff at Cornwall Hospital.---Keep up the great work!! To all the managers, Thank you for reviving our Hospital!! We need you!!
Triage nurse said the average wait time is 6hrs before you're seen. After 10pm there is only 1 doctor for emergency and critical care. Basically you're better to come in by ambulance then to pay for parking and wait in emerge.
Very well organized. Staff are exceptional. Highly recommend 5 Stars. Val Jackson, Kemptville
I cannot rate any lower, so that is why they got 1 star from me.... So my girlfriend is having chronic back pain, she had it for about 2 weeks and went for a gallium scan, so after her scan she goes into the ER to see if she can get something to help with her back pain, nothing over the counter is working to relieve the pain..... Sees a doctor, the doctor examines her and gives her a prescription for regular strength Aleve, the doctors can suck it here.... If you need help and can make the drive just go to Ottawa general, at least they take people seriously.
Putrid atmosphere. Do not touch anything!! absolute filth!! Wait times are ridiculous considering the amount of yapping that takes place. Walked out after 5 hrs and headed to the walk in clinic. Out in 30 min with full exam and prescription filled. I'll give one star because the parking gate was stuck open so parking was free. Btw, one person was waiting 13 hrs to see a doc. RIDICULOUS!!
Will never go there again worst hospital i have ever been to
Gaslighted and almost pushed to suicide by a member of staff, reported and nothing was done even though cameras proved my side of events. Wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy.
They were following covid guidelines.
This is the perfect example of when an ER waiting room become the purgatory. The Wait time is simply unreasonable. Waited for 7 + hours with no communication or any form of courtesy. Never again!
On time I went their puking and also shaking a lot they said I’d have to wait in line, which is change because I thought it was by order of importance not by who got their first. So I got their, checked it.. waited then vomited in the bath for 10 mins, went back to my chair, they still didn’t interested in getting me a room. So when I needed to puke again I just ended up sleeping in the bathroom stall for the next 4 hours. Another time today actually I was in extreme pain, probably do to lac tose or something. The pain was so bad that I would have to breath heavily and constrict my body I got chills. Different parts of my body went numb. It was a consistent pain. Next time I’m going to call an ambulance and let the hospital take the bill for me
Very long waiting time. I don't understand why hospital can't hire more staff. They have only one ER doctor in night shift .Where as patients waiting for the treatment are 20 in the waiting area beside those coming by Ambulance (I can't comment on those numbers).
I wish to thank everyone connected with the C.C.H. , the Paramedic , the emergency room staff , Dr,Gow , the technicians for the treatment the gave me at very scary and painful time . They are one class act !
Went for coronavirus testing, appointment was at 905 and they took me at exactly 905 Didn't wait at all, had the test done and left. If you are done within 15 minutes parking is free. Received my results within 24 hours, the staff explains thoroughly how it works and what they are doing as they do it.
Good hospital, very well organized. Was seen within minutes
Only one doctor at night. Waiting time is horrible. Been waiting for 7 hrs and still many people ahead of me
I have lived in Quebec for 30 years and want to Quebec hospitals. The Cornwall hospital is absolutely fantastic compares to the Quebec 20hrs+ wait times in emergency. I tell all my Quebec friend to go to Cornwall for fast and friendly health services.
Still a little complicated in the ER section. Needs work on speed and service.
Some awesome nurses and the best orthopaedic surgeon you'll ever meet! Minimum wait time 5 hours! They have no idea how to triage patients. Operates with one doctor in emergency after 9pm!! Zero accountability for extremely poor service! Don't waste your time, drive to Winchester or Ottawa...
Fat baby born ????
If you are going there for a true emergency, you get very good care If you are going there because you think you might have the flu, stay home. The slow service is because of people like you who go to the emergency room with a non-emergency. Go to the clinic that is what they are there for. And by the way when you are whining about the doctors think about this. While you are sitting with your mediocre flu symptoms , the doctor may very well be in another room trying to save someone's life .
Quick triage evaluation, in less than half an hour things started to happen I am very pleased with the handling of my case.
I went in with stomach pain, was seen immediately, had a CT quickly, and surgery a few hours later. The nurses checked on me frequently and the room was comfortable, clean, and quiet. Everything went smoothly and I recovered quickly. Thanks for the great service!
My wife has been going through excruciating issues related to her chronic illness throughout August, infections which lingered too long and several other complications contributed to me having to call an ambulance. She wasn’t able to move, in excruciating pain and very weak. When the ambulance dropped her off, I explicitly requested to be there or be informed about her status. I needed to be kept in the loop. She wasn't completely lucid, in great pain and still unable to move. I spoke to one doctor who said she would do tests, bloodwork and have her put on an IV. I don’t know who made the decision, but the hospital deemed it appropriate to write her off as a morphine abuser going through withdrawal and they just let her lie there in sub-acute for the whole day after she came in without food or much care, she wasn't even given an IV for nutrients. She was also marked as being able to take her own medication and if they had paid any attention to her at all, they would have known that this wasn't the case. The next day I came to the hospital, I found out withdrawal management had been contacted. I thought withdrawal management was contacted over the prednisone and the bouncing around between hospitals, but that wasn't the case. Apparently, withdrawal protocol was invoked because she had been identified as a junkie. The day after she came in (the 23rd), they wanted to discharge her and told her to go to the methadone clinic daily in Cornwall. Not to mention the 2 nurses who treated her horribly like a subhuman the night of the 23rd. Ultimately, she was not discharged that night, because she was still not feeling well. They couldn’t reach me and did try to get rid of her by wanting to call a cab. She couldn't even remember my name that evening. You do not try to discharge someone when they are clearly not okay. That entire day I still had not heard from a doctor or anyone else so I could explain her medical history and current situation. My wife was in no state to explain things properly. Only on the 24th when I was in the hospital, did I finally get to speak to withdrawal management. I sort of got lucky.... They called my wife and she was still not able to explain things properly, so I explained the whole story, both on the phone and once the man from withdrawal management found out I was in the hospital, we met. Only once I was able to explain everything, was she immediately taken off withdrawal protocol because she very obviously wasn't a candidate for it. Then she was finally put on an IV and ultimately transferred to inpatient care. I am furious and my wife has been humiliated! This hospital is a meat grinder with some real apathetic, prejudiced nurses my wife has had the displeasure of encountering. Although one nurse was a great help after that very bad night. Having a chronic disease is by itself no picnic, but this left my wife and me even more traumatized about healthcare in this province. It goes right on the huge pile of bad experiences we've already had though the years. You do not want to have chronic illness in this province. We’ll be filing an official complaint in the coming week.
took care of me when i was ill during pandemic great job
amazing staff
Not clean at all look at the ceiling guys I'm not kidding u and even the water sprinkler
I was treated here couple of times, yes I had to wait, I have patients compared to most others, I'm grateful for the service they did give me. The nurses and doctors are very nice, they want to help, and they sure did after my snowboarding accident, and my back pain, and my foot. For some ya it might be better to go else where, but if you can wait I would. Thank you for your help.
Horrible experience every time I go there. I work full time and needed to take the day off for an x-ray. They called me a few days ago saying it was at 11. I go in, wait over 2 hours and see people who came after me go in before me. I got annoyed, asked if I was even "checked in " yet.. she then proceeded to tell me it wasn't until 11 PM! how the hell is anyone suppose to think it's PM when she only said 11? wasted my whole work day sitting there, so annoyed with this place.
İts so so slow
I was just told that I can not get my surgery at this hospital because the chief medical officer wants everyone to get a covid test through the noise and I have no rights to say NO. It is the only hospital in Ontario where this is a requirement. This is sick and sad we have NO rights left anymore.
The waiting in emergency is uncalled for.Ive waited for over 8 to be seen.I got so frustrated went home .I was in their because my asthma was so bad.I had trouble breathing.Came home and doubled my nebulizer which didn't help because by the time I saw a Dr days later I had pneumonia. They should have more than 1 Dr.in emergency, so people don't have to die in the waiting room and or catch everything else people have.
Worst hospital I’ve ever been to. Waited in the ER waiting room for 5 hours with chest pain. I go to a different hospital they take me in right away. Staff is not friendly they just want to get you in and out as fast as possible even though it’s slow as hell. I’ve been misdiagnosed 3 times from here. High key recommend you do to Winchester or Alexandria if you want the proper care.
Great service today at the hospital
Originally had an awesome doctor while I was in ER and was very compassionate and friendly. Then a different doctor who arrived from the gates of hell contradicted everything the first doctor said.
Awful experience, the staff here is often very helpful and nice, this time was different. The triage nurse who checks blood pressure and temperature has a nasty attitude. She barely took me seriously and rolled her eyes when I listed a few of my symptoms, it's bad enough I gotta wait in the emergency room for hours but to deal with attitude ontop of matters makes it even worse. I wasn't the only one, she was being rude to other patients and even her co-workers! Jeez lady at least provide a little bit of empathy for your patients instead of "rolling your eyes". Never wrote a review before, but she bothered me so much that I had to. After multiple people were disrespected I got fed up and left the building, gonna try to manage my symptoms at home.
Stuff is nice but rest is not good. Waiting for the help more than 6 hours. Only if you must go there.
Took 12.5 hours from start to finish most of that time was waiting. Most of the staff was nice to deal with. I feel as if my symptoms were played down by the tirage nurse. I rated my pain 10/10 didn’t get any medication to help with the pain until 30 minutes before they discharged me. I understand that they need to know what’s wrong before starting medication, however I waited over 5 hours for the doctor to read me my results. More doctors are defiantly needed.
Just bad service compared to other hospitals.
I like water
Went to emergency via Morrisburg police about an incident at Riverside Heights where I lived before 2000. Neighbours teasing about it. Office called OPP Long Sault. Apparent some officer was on my case( never knew anything about a legal case ever.) So....the officer took my car keys and took me to Cornwall hospital for mental checkup. While there I had to go to bathroom. Lady at emergency paged that I was a runner. Hope they get over being scared at their clients because false statements given them that they never questioned as not what I was at all. Anyway head of psychology let me go and said police have no right to steriotype women as emotional recks . My sister picked me up and I picked up my car. Sometimes it is suffering in silence is what we must do. Anyway the hospital does what it is suppose to do. I know because I trained as nurse there 1990-1993. Not happy about psych blitz by bell media. Sterotyping based on pamphlets at work, malls, and other places. Once on psych meds never let you off them as long as your drug plan lists. Oops .Sorry I am suffering in silence but messages are out in silence in writing as my form of therapy. Hospital need a volunteer? Oops not allowed that either. Take care @57 I still want out as an Ontarioan.
12hr wait waiting room was filthy chairs were not clean and ripping ...needs help asap
This hospital has been an excellent caregiver for me - everyone has been professional and has exceeded any expectations I had. Kudos to Dr. Sharda, the operating room staff, and now the Thrombosis Clinic. Thank you all. We are very fortunate to have this facility.
Very nice people working here
Go to ottawa.
It has been a terrible experience. Our country is pumping out register ears and registered practical nurses that are obviously in the field for the reason of the money not because of a dedication or interest in the field.I've come across nurses at this hospital that are lazy uncompassionate and downright have no common sense. The food at this hospital is terrible I'm sure the employees at the interior prisons are getting better quality food than what I am eating. People think that you with health Care is bad well I don't believe that anymore I think the Ontario health Care is that. I've been to the United States and I was in the hospital there and the quality of care and the service there was more Superior than what I have received here in the Cornwall community hospital.
Terrible service
9 hours and still waiting Recently moved to Cornwall..Worst ER department in the whole country. We have been waiting to see the doctor for 9hrs and still no sign of seeing the doctor. I would reccomend people to go to hospital in Ottawa or Toronto during this wait time instead of wasting time here. Note: There's no line up of patients. Not sure what is holding them up to see few number of patients. Missing hospital in Toronto:(
Rude nurses, secretary flirting with patients, poor organization and 6+ hours wait. I’ll drive to real hospital next time
went to er for heart pain from my pericarditis and im left in a chair without any help clearly visible that im in pain and its causing me extreme discomfort i tried to lay down to relieve pressure on my heart after four hours of stabbing pain shooting thought my abdomen and im told im not aloud and if i continue i will have to leave the worst er ever
for real u might as well pay the ambulance fees and call them to your location. some of the worst waiting times in Ontario. from someone who's lived in Toronto, this is terrible. just to get stitches for a bleeding cut we had to wait 2 hours, the other day we had to wait 8+ HOURS for an X-ray and assessment(we left couldn't wait any longer) this city does not have any incentives to upgrade thier healthcare system!
It's always long but that is to be expected they are very busy. They were excellent compassionate very kind I could have not asked for a nicer team of people just ready to go home as son as possible no place like home. Thank you all nurses staff and doctor
Been at the er for 3 hours and am in severe pain. Ridiculous that people who are who showing up after me are going in before me. I am told to be patient when I am in unbearable pain.
From the two times I had to attend their ER disgusted with wait times. First time was a v good doctor, he was on the ball, the second time was a disaster. The female doctor was clueless. I have visited people on several occasions the CCH, not impressed with the care they have received. Take me to Ottawa even if I die on my way. No CCH for me.
It’s garbage, not a good hospital at all need a better one
Emergency and Critical care were great. Now there are issues of moving patients into hall ways for care which is very un acceptable, patients needs their own room and washroom. They do not belong in a hall way or at the end of a hall way with no call button to push for emergencies, no phone, etc. Very unhappy how there treat patients
I arrived at 3:30p was seen by the doctor, put on IV, given pain meds and was walking to ultrasound by 4:00p. Doctor was amazing and compassionate. Nursing staff was great. Thank you for your help and kindness.
Beware going to the this emerg or any other if you are a female experiencing chest discomfort. In a nutshell… About three years ago I went there only to wait for hours to see a doctor and get an ECG. I had one symptom. The ECG showed that I was having a “cardiac event”. During the subsequent scramble, I learned that medical personnel had said that I did not fit the profile. Now, chest discomfort is a typical symptom so an ECG should be administered immediately rather than guessing. I am very lucky but no thanks to so certain staff/triage whose attitude toward me from the beginning seemed unprofessional, IMO.
I appeared before the Screener for my, first, one hour appointment, to visit my husband. When the screener asked me if I had had a Covid test, I answered truthfully, Yes. She asked me the typical Covid-related questions. She accepted my responses. I, also, advised her that I self isolate because, I have two autoimmune diseases, Multiple Sclerosis and Crohns Disease and, Asthma. I explained that I always wear a face mask, use hand sanitizer and limit my interactions. Then she responded by telling me that, she was refusing me entry. The reason given was, I had a Covid test and did not have the result. I explained that I was permitted to visit my husband, on his previous admission, October 2 to October 17, with the Screener aware that I had a Covid test then, too, with a result to be available two to three days later. I, also, explained that during my two weeks visitations, the results came back Negative. She dismissed me, period. I told her that my husband is battling stage four Parkinson's Disease, with Dementia and, has lost his ability to feed himself, along with all physical aspects of his life. We have been narried for fifty three years and lean on one another through our challenging years. There is so much stress in my life and, I keep him home because I want to help him with all his needs and, honour my vows, before God. She called two security officers to remove me from the premises, at age seventy five, as though I was a criminal. I left. They thought I was A-symptomatic and, I thought I had to get a test just to be able to visit. Obviously, an understanding mix up! I called to find out how my husband is doing, later in the evening and, was informed that the Doctor is treating my husband for a suspected scabies infection. The Ontario Government Health is reporting, on line, an outbreak of Scabies, at the Cornwall Community Hospital. My husband was admitted, before, from Oct 2 to 17, came home on Oct 17 afternoon and, was, admitted back on Oct 20 morning. The nurse confirmed that the hospital was dealing with a Scabies outbreak.
Showed up for a 9 AM appointment at 11:15 still waiting watched many people go by. Which is why we need private hospital care. Sad
Great staff they try their best.
Had urine test, bloodwork, and EKG, then waited 10 hours to not even see the doctor. Was told it would be a while until the doctor even saw me (when I asked after the 10th hour waiting, where I was told she forgot about me). The next day I received a call saying to fast and come back for another test. So I did... And then after the test, waited for another 8 hours for my results (which they kept saying should be soon because they have the results). They said this after an hour of waiting and it took 8 hours on-top of the 10 I spent the previous day. Never ended up seeing a doctor. Service is so bad here.
There are many reasons why I never come here. And sitting here tonight makes me dislike it even more. Horrible E.R service. Sure the triage nurse is wonderful but then your sitting for hours and hours and only see one person go in while 15 or more come out in just an hour time. Yes I know ambulance come and go but in the time frame I've sat here with my daughter waiting for her to be seen only 1 that's right 1 ambulance has come in. And not even in code. I'd rather make the drive to Winchester and tonight I should of stuck to my instincts and went there. I guess I have learned my lesson on why I don't come.here.
My wife and I have had to use the emergency department a number of times recently, and have found them to be very good, especially with the number of people wanting attention. They are over worked and under staffed but doing their best.
Only one ER Doctor!!!! 5 hours and still waiting......a walking clinic has more doctors than this hospital.
S....l....o....w
Can’t believe that. The health unit of East side of Ontario made mask mandatory since two weeks and the security agent who welcomed me didn’t wear one. Another nurse just pass on front of me without mask either. What kind of hospital is that.
Had to go to emergency twice this past week. I found everyone from the moment you enter to being so helpful, caring and courteous. The doctors and nurses are fantastic caring angels! Can’t say enough good about their efficiency and service to the Cornwall community!
Most poorly run hospital iv ever seen in my life. You might die waiting in the emergency.
I've been in the ER for almost 8 hours with appendicitis and they're literally the slowest hospital I have ever been too. In 8 hours they've done bloodwork and an ultrasound and gave me something for the pain which has been horrible. It's not even busy in here so I don't understand why it's so slow.
Awesome place to work, healthy environment, good care.
As a former employee and occasional patient I can say with 100% certainty this facility is managed by incompetent clowns. It is a revolving door for staff and managers and is clearly apparent with the quality (or lack thereof) of care you receive at this facility. I drive an hour both ways to go to Ottawa instead. Go anywhere else.
4hours and waiting only 1 doctor on duty when did this become northern Canada medical standards... 1 lady had a kid that nearly drown in the pool yet rich looking kids with strep throat where seen first along with kids showing no symptoms... I'm here with likely a concussion from work but yeah let those bladder infections and rich kids go first. At what point is this hospital sewed for malpractice or are standards so low that that's impossible any more?
it takes to long for a doctor to see you once i had a concussion and took 3 hours for a docter
rude, didn’t listen to my concerns, made my condition worse. And discharged me knowing I could hemorrhage
My boyfriend went to the emergency with chest pain. After numerous of test the Doctor on duty said you can wait for the heart specialist or go home its up to you. We asked if he knew what was wrong and he said no. So after waiting at least 8 hours we said fine we will go home. The specialist called my boyfriend at home and told him to come back to the Hospital he is having a heart attack. What is wrong with this picture?
My daughter was recently born here. The staff was amazing, happy, very nice and helpful. They were professional and very courteous.
Went to Cornwall for a day surgery and this was the best hospital I've been to - the nurses and doctors were all so kind and caring. Plus parking is very reasonable cost!
The purpose and functionality of this hospital is garbage. Waste's everyones time and gets nothing done.
Trash absolutely dam trash
I was at the Cornwall hospital today and I was impressed with the service we received. My mother is 99 and from the first girl at reception, registration, the nurses and the lady who stood at Emergency door. They were all pleasant and so patient with Mom. Dr. Rosenbloom was very sweet to her and they all made it such a positive experience. Thank you! (especially during this tiime)
Partner turned away for MRI after waiting months and months to get into one. She filled out a checklist before we even got there and they waited until she got into the gown before they turned her away. Do the staff take pleasure in wasting peoples time there?
I took my tween to the ER as she was crying pain. We arrived at 7:34 pm. Triaged and registered in a half an hour. We waited all night as drunks came in and were belligerent and drug addicts came in and all were seen immediately. We were there a total of 13 and a half hours before a doctor even saw us. The wait time is completely unacceptable. In fact when my daughter was due for more pain medication, no nurse was to be found. It took me three hours to find a nurse to do it. To be in pain in the waiting room chairs all night, poor kid.... a man came in at 11 ish and no triage nurse .....he left 3 hours later without even being triaged. Completely unacceptable ????
From the moment we walk in the emergency dept to register and then triage we are welcomed with great service I was taken care of in the trauma dept by the nicest nurses and at the ct scan dept We are so blessed to have a great hospital with great services Thank you to everyone Teresa Blondin
For mothers delivering at the Cornwall Community Hospital; just a bit of advice regarding rooms. When you're in labor and register at the front and they ask you about paying the $225 for a Semi-private or Private room as opposed to the "free ward room", ALWAYS double check the line you are signing on, regardless of the pain you're in (and doesn't matter if you've said 3 TIMES you can't afford or don't want to pay for a room so you WANT whatevers available) as well as NEVER say yes to paying for it!! Unless you absolutely want to be alone (which 99% of the time, you will be anyways). The Hospital, despite arguing with a supervisor who says otherwise, does NOT have anything less than a 2 bed room in the maternity section, which is where mothers stay after birthing, therefore you're being charged for a room that is you're only option anyways. Back in December when I had my son, there was only 1 other mother there, who had her baby a many hours before me, and the rest of the MATERNITY WARD, was filled with SICK ELDERS. They placed me in the Exact same room that I was in after having my first son but apparently the line I was told to sign that was for "if we ask you to move and you refuse, we are allowed to charge you for semi/private, sign if you agree" I agreed because I didn't care if I was alone or in a room of 10 people and knew I wouldn't refuse anyways. Now I'm told I signed agreeing and asking for the semi room and I must pay the fee.
My husband had fall a couple of days ago. His x-rays didn't show any fractures at the time. We waited around 4 hours that evening for him to be seen and testing to be completed. Last evening the hospital called and said the radiologist saw a questionable fracture and asked that my husband come back in. I understand that this happens from time to time. We have been waiting this AM over 3 hours and have yet to see a physician. They are aware they asked us to come back. They need a better system in place to deal with patients in the same situation. Waiting this long is ridiculous.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOSPITAL!!
By far worst hospital in the area been a handful of times and the same issue every time super long wait time then you get a misdiagnosis after wasting all that time there highly recommend steering clear of this place. Next maybe hire qualified employees instead of dumping tax payer money into the look of the hospital
Wait time is always about 6 hours .
What is wrong with this hospital its pathedic. Needs a major overhaul from the government. Every time you do there all you hear is I cant treat that or sorry go home and talk to your own doctor. Next time I need medical help I will go to the vet I will get better help. I will never donate money to this gong show again. That's what it is just a gong show over there. Its all a con to get you there to change the ohip and get $6.00 for parking.. It is time for a new CEO and a new board of directors that will fix this mess cause the ones we have now are not doing anything about it, Ministry of Health is investigating this hospital again and it is about time. Go to Winchester or Alexandra you will better service there. Ever sence they closed down the general the hotel Due went to the toilets. The vet hospital on Pitt street is better maybe I will go there to see a vet will be a lot better off
In and out of emergency in half an hour, including seeing the doctor. Very well organized and great service from all staff.
Showed up with something lodged in throat. sat for two hours....Someone showed up with lego in ear, after waiting 2 hours. and treated then left. Before I was looked at....They said good vitals have to wait.
i cant say very many good things about this hospital.. Their time management skills are terrible- granted of course, emergencies always happen and most take priority over anyone else. The emergency waiting room is disgusting, revolting, a cesspool of bacteria you can feel as soon as the doors open to walk in there... Once in emerge, the nurses and doc have 0 bedside manners. None. Nil. I do realize that maybe they are putting in overtime and their patience is running thin, but that is no one else's fault but the staffing, it should not be taken out on any patients. My one good thing I will say but will be followed by a negative, is that the Day surgery Unit staff are fantastic. They do put a lot of care and kindness into the patient. However, they do not keep family or patients informed of any major delays or the actual surgery being cancelled. I say this because that actually happened where my family member was ready to surgery and was brought into the unit at 9 am and was told at 7 pm that the surgery was cancelled and they would have to make arrangements to have the surgery rescheduled. Things really need to change. I know my comment will go unnoticed; but i am positive, i am not the only one who feels this way.
The ER wait time is horrible saw patient just leaving up instead of waiting. That's why going to the ER is dreaded because instead of getting treatment you will probably died before you will look at.
My father passed away after 8 days in the hospital. I cannot say enough good about how he was treated, right from emergency through admittance to his final moments. The kindness of the staff and constant concern for not only Dad's comfort but also for the family was so much appreciated. Dad had been in hospital twice before and each time no fault could be found with his care. And contrary to what most people say about hospital food; Dad always enjoyed his meals, although he was not interested in food at all the last time. So thumbs up to the dieticians and catering staff as well.
Well worth the long wait! The medical team at CCH are highly efficient, professional, compassionate, and dedicated to finding out what is causing the health issue.
A great hospital. Renovated, clean, most of the staff is nice and polite. When you compare this hospital to others in the larger cities, you realize how fast you are seen.
(Emergency) Experiences at this hospital in the past were shockingly bad. Staff very judgemental on literally every visit and I was even put in rooms covered in blood on 2 separate occasions. The past year my visits have been much better, staff has bad days but overall much improved. Hospital standards for cleanliness have gotten better, and wait times seemed to be reduced as well. Security guards in this area of the hospital are also the nicest people in the place so I always try not to get mad when they do their job and it interferes with what I want. The floor for mental illness is an area you can tell they are trying hard to do better with but they just don't have enough doctors in there that are devoted and want to make a difference for people with mental illness and their families. For out patient mental illness they have a program called "First episode" and it really is the best thing that they have going in the mental illness department. Overall this hospital is doing better but their old standards were not hard to beat. I really hope they keep improving and fast because at this point the only time this hospital actually helps is when you are out patient, or when your dying and they keep you alive long enough to ship you somewhere else. I don't bother going anymore, so much more gets done at the medical center when I can't wait, and with referrals to specialists when I can wait.
ER wait time incredibly slow see five people leave er then nurse comes out for over an hour calling same name he wasnt here doesnt go to next name took 75 minutes to move to next. People leaving ER not one wore a mask waiting room most wore mask. Dont use ER find urgent care facilities sign in then leave there
This is by far the worst Hospital in eastern Ontario worst rudest doctors I have ever seen I rather go see a veterinarian then go to this place.....
If i could give 0 stars, I would. This hospital is not clean, the service is unbelievably slow, and the most unprofessional people work here. Sad that we can't rely on our own community hospital, we need to drive out of town to get good service. So very disappointed in this place, more than once.
Sure the wait was somewhat long for a nearly empty ER, but the staff working with me were absolutely wonderful. They were such kind, caring and helpful people and I'm very happy with how I was treated by them.
