REVIEWS OF Dan Guyer MD PC IN Chatham

Been seeing Dr. Guyer for 16 years and would never see anyone else, except if he retires. He is VERY educated. You just need to let him be the doctor, you can't want to go in there demanding things. I would give him a 5 star repetitively!

I used to see another doctor who was a colleague of doctor Guyer who happened to retire, and it’s a shame because I had a good experience with that office. I also took part of the dbt program that is run by doctor Guyer and had a good experience with that as well. I would still be going to that office however they are busy and couldn’t take any more patients after my precious doctor retired.

If I could give him less then one star I would. He does not care about his patients. I spent more time in the waiting room then actually seeing Dr. Guyer. You can tell just by sitting in the waiting room long enough that he only cares about pumping people with drugs and moving to the next person. He had me on a drug that is not recommended for taking longer then a year period for MANY YEARS. When I went to get off the drugs he told me to just stop taking them. Another Doctor advised me how to properly get off the drugs because if I did what Guyer said I most likely would have had a seizure. Never once did Guyer tell me that ... or even the side effects of the drugs he prescribed. I do not know how he is still practicing.

Very patient and allows for any questions with answers I am able to understand.

My very first appointment at this office with Dr. Guyer was the only apt that was noteworthy. Every appointment I had there after became more and more of irritant for one reason or another. If you book an apt with any of the doctors there you should probably bring a book or a charger for your cell phone. The average wait time I had for an apt regardless of the time of day was 40 minutes beyond my scheduled time. The office is only open till 5pm M-F, so if you're a normal working individual that works days this is not the office for you. They are less than helpful in trying to find apt times that work with a normal work schedule. I also had a personal experience with this location, Dr. Guyer and their office Manager where I ran out of medication and they were un-willing to re-fill my prescription. The result of this was me going though withdrawl from a medication I had been on for several years. Dr. Guyer nor his office Manager seemed to be sympathetic to my symptoms. You would think that an office that deals with patients that have serious mental and psychiatric needs would be empathetic to the needs of its patients. If less than a star was an option to rate Dr. Guyer and his office Manager I would have made that selection.

Dr. Guyer is a good psychiatrist but I can’t stand the office staff. Ever since COVID it’s excuse after excuse. My scripts are never sent on time they wait last minute to inform you that you have to make an appointment. It’s a struggle getting ahold of them I have to leave voice mails to get a call back. For example; it’s Friday I call to schedule my appointment and get my meds refilled but now I have to wait after Easter.

Kylie Mein

Was told it was going to take 6 weeks to get in for an appointment. it’s now been over two months and no call back even though i was out on the waiting list. Should definitely be taking this more serious as it is people’s MENTAL HEALTH we’re talking about. Very unprofessional
