Ivermectin could prevent Covid, as proven around the world, a Nobel prize for efficacy and 65 years of safety records proves this treatment is safe. Ivermectin has been legislated by many countries around the world with great success. In the US, courts have had to mandate hospitals use it to cure Covid and patients have made full and rapid recovery. Any overwhelm of this hospital in 2022 belongs squarely on the shoulders of the Health Unit for denying the public at home, early therapeutics, and on the Doctors and Hospital administration for choosing politics over people. Sad days for health care when profits exceed the desire to heal.
Great hospital in C-K!
The Endoscopy staff were excellent right from the secretary who greeted me on arrival, right through to recovery. Especially Anaesthetist Dr Lee along with the OR Nurse were very comforting and excellent in explaining what I could expect and calming my nerves. Staff were attentive and provided plenty of lovely warm blankets. Thank you for the wonderful care provided.
CKHA has been there for me and my family. They have provided exceptional emergence care services when we need it (for real emergencies). They have also been the place to provide birthing services for both of my children. The staff are kind and caring.
The booking dept for X-ray and ultra sounds is a joke. My doctors clinic sent my referral for an exam beginning of June, and the booking dept either looked over the referral or just didn't get around to contacting me. I called the booking dept and they said they never received it. I had to have the doctor send my referral twice and BOTH TIMES the hospital booking dept claimed they never received it. I had to call multiple times for them to look into their files to see that they in fact did receive my referral. They were unable to schedule me in until sept , by this time my condition has become far more severe and they didn't care the slightest when I explained the urgency of having the exam done immediately. Overall I will have to wait four months for an exam which was considered an emergency exam by my doctor. Good on the hospital for downsizing it's workers, let's start with the booking dept though since they can't seem to manage simple paperwork.
They don't follow patience requests. At ALL. Requests were asked if they could be done, they agreed, and then when the time came did the exact opposite of what they agreed too. All without permission. No one was in danger or anything, they just went back on their word and nothing is being done to correct this. Go somewhere else!
The wait in this place is my only complaint so far. I have been there a few times and have walked out at least 3 times now. I don't know why they have such a huge problem with the waiting but it's bad. Your better off going to a better hospital or one you know won't make you wait a really long time.
Longest wait almost 7 hours now and still waiting, only the security guard was helpful.
I know the ordeals and exhaustion that nurses and doctors go through working long, hard hours on difficult cases. However, when I was a patient, although the nurses were nice to my face, my mother walked in on them gossiping about both her and myself. Requests were largely ignored. When I wanted to leave, I was told I was not allowed to until almost a week later when my doctor was switched and my new doctor was outraged I had been kept as long as I had been and informed me that I could go if I wanted to, and technically could've at any stage after I woke up from being on life support. Overall, a very frightening experience and I've told my family multiple times now that if something happens to me, I won't be calling an ambulance in this area.
The worst hospital to go to if u are wishing for a natural birth experience!!!!
Save yourself and your loved ones. I am getting a medic alert bracelet and a legal advance directive that states that I am never to be taken to this hospital ever again.
Amazing service and caring staff
Not following patient requests
I am not sure about the other staff but Dr. Igbinoba is a very good doctor he does his job correctly and does not brush you off he is very polite and helps you to understand and doest just give you a medication and send you on the way he is a very genuine person and upfront. I am glad to have him as my doctor.
No matter what the medical issue may be, priority care is provided each and every time. Thank you CKHA.
Amazing ICU....Staff were caring and very attentive. Except for Colleen B. And when I reported her, they knew EXACTLY who I meant as did other staff. Medical unit 4th floor..... ridiculous. If you have a loved one that cant speak for themselves you had best be checking on them...and DO NOT say its the cuts....the ward was crawling with student nurses. When you have to tell them what your meds are and when you get them....thats a problem. Buzzers shut off or not given. Meals not opened for people that cannot do it themselves. Dietary giving out wrong trays, and not rectifying it once known. The left hand didnt know what the right hand was doing half the time. Cleaning staff were polite and efficient. Drs we dealt with were great.
The care was great.
Entered emergency department two weeks ago with excruciating pain. Triage nurse was quick to get me in to a bed and got diagnosed with kidney stones. Emergency staff were quick and well versed in getting my pain under control. I thank you for your help.
walked home today with a Pulmonary Embolism.....you guys said NOTHING was wrong...im dying at home because you didnt listen to me when i said i had chest pains....and shortness of Breath i have DVT
I have great respect and gratitude to all the staff at CKHA. I've been going to both hospitals for the last 4 years. The nurses and doctors have been amazing with my health care. Thank you for all you do. ❤
Worst experience ever..
Medical staff shooed me away, having problems with tonsils/breathing (8 years now) staff would NOT listen to me, pretty much told me to go to Covid centre for testing (EVEN THOUGH IVE SEEN A DOCTOR AND HE TOLD ME ITS SEVERE TONSILLITIS) THEY would not take that for an answer. Your best off going to a hospital that actually cares about its patients
Hospital.
I like to thank everybody at the ICU for trying to save my husbands live. You were kind, helpful but never tried to give false hope. You never left his side once in all the hours you took care of him and I am so very thankful for that.
I was brought in by ambulance 4 years ago after being hit by a car. They dropped the ball seriously with regards to my care. They missed a concussion and a head injury, my pupils weren’t even checked. My concussion was diagnosed over a month later and the head injury two years later when I was finally able to see a neurologist. They did two xrays and sent me home the day of my accident. I was asked if I lost consciousness I told them I don’t remember anything after seeing the rear window of the car that hit me. I had no memory of hitting the road. My helmet visor was off of my helmet and there is a large scrape on my helmet. The report from the hospital says with regards to a loss of consciousness... no. I now have to pay for their mistakes.
Went for a potentially broken rib as i had wiped out on my bike the night before due to black ice. Was the only one in the waiting bay for 4 hours. Then once i actually got pulled in to see the doctor, i waited another half hour to actually be seen by the doctor.
Some workers at the hospital need a attitude adjustment
Worst wait times for emergency in Ontario. Better off going to London or Windsor or wallaceberg to be scene by anyone the same day. Most people have to make this emergency trip last two days at least a 12 hour wait.
Longest ER wait times of any hospital I've ever been to in Canada.
Totally unprofessional staff don't care about the patient They did two time my wife broken elbow Bandich in three days and both time is wrong and she couldn't sleep three days even after taking pain killer
You're better off going to wallaceburg, expect at least a 5 hour wait if you go to emerge, have seen people pass out from blood lost before they were taken in
Went for a procedure today and was very pleased with everyone involved. First time at this hospital as I am new to Chatham. Canadians are blessed as we only have to say thank you when we leave and not pay anything!!
Refuse to honor patient requests. Care more about their lunch breaks than patient safety. You’d be better off being treated by doc mcstuffins.
If I could give this a 0 I would i recently went in after slipping on some ice I spent over 6 hrs waiting to get X-rays. 1:30mins just waiting for the results to well the doctor that was looking after my case just sat at the desk doing who knows what. I have had many X-rays done in my life as I have Cerebral Palsy & I have never waited so long in my life, I could go to a hospital in London ON & have the same thing done in half the time, this wasn’t the first time I have a a bad experience with this hospital a few years ago I fell & fractured my knee they made me wait I the waiting room for over 5 hours & told me oh it was just badly bruised. Then they take X-rays & find out I was right all a long they did apologize but that isn’t enoug, then there is the parking I feel like they really tip you off at this hospital $10 will get you 5 hours if your lucky. I can go to other hospitals & pay $3 for the whole day. I go to appointment so all the time for my CP & have never paid this amount. This hospital is a joke & try to avoid it at all cost.
The CKHA is located in the heart of Chatham, close to the downtown core, and near shops and restaurants. My mom recently came here from Windsor to have hip replacement surgery with Dr. Turnbull, and I have nothing but praise for this hospital and the staff here. Everything was beyond my expectations. I had arrived at the hospital about an hour into her surgery, and we were in the waiting room, where they had a TV set up, with a username set up for my mom and a timeline of where she was, and how long it was going to be, which I thought was excellent. Her surgery was at 8:00am, and I had arrived around 10:30am. I think we waited about another hour before we were able to see her. During the duration of her stay, the staff were polite, attentive, and so very helpful and informative, making her feel welcome, and reassured that she will be getting better, and that they would help her with what she needed. Day of surgery, post op, she was bed ridden and needed a lot of help. Within the second day, she was up and walking a bit, and with the help of all the nurses and staff, they always gave her positive support and always came on in time with her meds that she needed. There is also a very busy Tim Hortons located in the hospital. During the week, the high school students from the high school across the streets, come across to this Tim Hortons and it takes a bit longer to wait for a coffee. That is my only thing that I didn't prefer, but you can always leave and go to another Tim Hortons in the city, there are quite a few. Parking, of course is expensive, but so is any other hospital. You can get a week pass for $40, and that's what we did, because during our stay, my mom would fall asleep often, so that left us nothing to do, so having that pass was great, going in and out when we pleased. The parking lot was never really that full, even on a weekday, the weekend you have more options for parking. In conclusion, this hospital and their staff are amazing, less of a wait for a procedure, staff were caring and patient, the student nurses were phenomenal, and ready to learn whatever they needed. Coming from the outside perspective as family, we were also treated with respect, and given the knowledge we needed to help my mom through her healing. This was a wonderful experience and I'm sure my mom would come back here for any other procedure.
this is the first emergency room visit that i had in Ontario where the colored staff doctors treat me like im some kind of skin head and they hate me
I went there this past Thursday ( August 20th ) and I’m not pleased with the service I had first the triage nurse had no idea how to do her job kept skipping over the numbers. Then while I was in fast track I was getting bloodwork and took them 10 times to find a vein and the iv ending up falling out and leaving a huge bruise on my arm.
Wait times are extremely long, usually 8-12 hours. My dad had bled out onto the floor before they took him in the back to wait out the rest of the 8-12 hour wait
A great experience! The staff was kind and caring!
Nurses are very good, but. Seem to have shortage of doctors in put..long time to wait for immiaging,C.T..scan..
Not happy at all. Will be making a complaint ASAP of the lack of care for my father. He spent a total of 10 days in that hospital on the 4th floor. The worse care ever. They sent him home because he wasn't happy with his care. I give him 5 days max. And he will be hospitalized . . But it won't be in Chatham Kent! ! You will be hearing from me again!!
excellent emergency care
Would rate ZERO stars. They go against your wishes. Don’t care about what you want. They will stil give you a medical procedure even after you asked them not to.. DO NOT COME HERE!
The hospital staff were ignorant
A wonderful experience. Very caring staff.
I was at the emergency department this past Wednesday. All of the staff was very kind and attentive to my needs. Triage was easy, fast track was fast, I had xrays and was diagnosed and back home in a reasonable time. I have only kind words for all of the and would like to thank them all!!
First I wish I knew the names of the paramedics who looked after me but you were fantastic. L&D department were amazing. Very thorough and attentive. Super friendly as well.
The 3 young nurses at reception were more interested in their own conversation than taking care of patients. Not impressed! The rest of the procedure was ok...except for waiting a half hour for appt.
Awful
I had orthopaedic surgery in September 2020. I have the highest praise for Dr. H. Hundt, the staff in Day Surgery, Ambulatory Care, and Radiology. I felt very safe in this setting during the COVID pandemic. Thanks again to all staff for going above and beyond and helping in every way.
Id be very careful about going here. I had one of the doctors give me a complete lie with regards to the effect and purpose of a drug. I didn't tell him that I was a biologist and just let him talk and he had absolutely no clue, I could tell he'd just run into the back and done a quick Google search. This is extremely dangerous to give misleading and incorrect advice as the drug was used to prevent an incurable disease. Thankfully I knew the effect, but I worry for less scientifically literate people.
3rd world countries emergency way better that. Wait 7 hr and never been called. Looks like they giving you punishment that why you get sick !
everyone was friendly and professional
Check In slow, no one was waiting on anyone. Day Care Surgery was a great experience. Andrea, MaryLynne, Mike were excellent. Porter Brian very polite. Surgery nurse Claudette was good. Anesthetist was very personable as well ( Dr. Deb ). Recovery nurse was very good.( sorry forgot your name ) Remember you were heading off to Vegas. Thanks for making it a positive experience.
My husband had surgery there yesterday and the day surgery nurses were amazing, they were absolutely attentive and kind, big shout out to Cheryl his nurse for your excellent care and to Dr. Kukkadi for being so kind and also for being an excellent surgeon. Thanks to all of you
7 hour wait time to see a doctor.... one doctor on call... they should be ashamed of themselves!!!! Where are the nurse practitioners???? Come on CK ... get on the ball with health care... city is growing .... you can't keep up!!
I write this review as someone with intimate knowledge of the prevailing culture and the construct of this hospital. It is a decaying, sick and poisonous environment where there's little oversight and a well-established culture of abuse, harassment and bullying with impunity. Unfortunately it soon infects every new recruit and ultimately has a detrimental effect on patient care. This toxic system forces the personnel to choose to either join in the chaos or leave. The management is insouciant to the abuse of power and discord which is rampant in all levels and there is no accountability, collegiality or respect. Hence patient care falls by the wayside. The overall culture is that of aggression, belligerence and malice. Turf wars and power struggles are painful realities that seriously endanger and thwart an effective health care delivery. There is no clear description of duties and responsibilities which lead to continuous clashes for which patients pay the ultimate price. This explains why this hospital has an atrocious record of recruiting and retaining good health professionals.
I am fairly new to the Chaham area and have found it to be a warm and welcoming city...until I made a trip to this hospital to book an appointment for a diagnostic test. Prior to coming, I spoke to a very nice and personable woman in the mammogram booking department who instructed me to attend at the xray department with my requisition and the appoinment would be made. I did this and was treated with a degree of derision, condescension and outright aggression that I have seldom encountered in all my 61 years. The last time I recall being spoken to in this manner was in 2010 by a used car salesman in downtown Toronto who sold me a car with brakes that failed when I drove it off the lot. Although I explained very clearly and succinctly why I was there and what I had been told on the phone earlier that day, I was ridiculed and not listened to at all until I insisted upon it and the requisition was forwarded to booking. In hindsight, I wish I had asked for my requisition back and gone elsewhere, as I'm quite apprehensive about returning for this simple test.
The nursing staff was excellent and went out of their way to take care of me, your full dedication is what it's all about. It is not often enough we say "thank you" for all you do. I sent a fruit bouquet to them from Edible Fruit Arrangements by Bella Chocolatier, it was beautiful and I hope you all got to share it, the team of nurses and doctors deserved it. I appreciate the care and sincere attention.
Love Chatham hospital ???? the help front the nurses/Doctors. The nurses were always there for me. I was on the second and 3rd floor. God Bless them. Patricia
Sounds like a lot of these gripes and groans are about wait times. Typically if you have to wait a long time it's because of a thing called triage. Triage means the most prevalent cases are prioritized. From my experience most people treat the ER like it's their personal family health clinic. Think about that next time you have to wait 5+ hours because of your sore throat that you've had for 4 days.
The staff were all very friendly and informative. Great experience from start to finish. Thank you for your care:)
My wife loved how great everything went on her day of day surgery......she said the staff was just amazing.
Don't waste your time going here. 6 hours waiting and still not seen. Most people waiting have walked on out. Unbelievable service for a hospital.
i came here for depression and i was tortured i was only allowed 2 30 minute phone breaks per day they gave me a prostate exam for no reason i left feeling more suicidal and violated then i was before i came
They have had numerous doctors lose their licenses. As well as accept tons doctors who are rated 1-2 stars on the mb doctor rating site. (So that makes a lot of the doctors there with Terrible bedside manners, and total jerks who don't know how to treat patients. ) Their nurses are wonderful, but some of the doctors make me question their education. Mind you there are very few doctors whom are wonderful as well. But so far I have encountered more bad than good out of this hospital. And the staff is always changing, so if you do file a complaint it gets lost as not one single staff member has stayed the stays keeping track of it. They are unorganized as well and even some of the staff themselves have complained about how the hospital is run. Honestly go the extra hour to Sarnia, Windsor or london. It's worth it there than whayewha ckha will give you.
Worst ever, nurses are ignorant, place is a dump, wait times are insane, people get fed up and leave, they totally skipped over my wife for X-rays and started taking people in that came in after her until they realized that they forgot about her, no apologies what so ever, if you don’t like your job and don’t want to be there, move on! Lots of people would glad to have your job. Next time heading to Windsor or London. I had to ask the doctor to do extra testing as he seemed like it was a bother to him, no instructions in to what to look for for or what to do when we get home. Thx to the pharmacist at shoppers for the heads up after picking up the prescription on what to do and what to watch for. If I treated people in my job like they do my ass would be fired and I’m sure if I treated them nurses at my job how they treated us they would be calling calling my boss. Terrible experience
I (Jane Gander) had to have a small surgery yesterday and I have to say that my experience was nothing but POSITIVE!!! Thank-You to all the staff on Day surgery that looked after me. From the time I was admitted to the time I was released they took Great care of me. THANKS AGAIN
Both my husband and I have had need of the services of Chatham Kent Hospital over the last year or so. We have found the booking staff , nurses and doctors to be wonderful. They were efficient and friendly and always caring and compassionate. We were helped in a timely fashion. We could not expect better service. Thank you everyone for doing a sometimes difficult job and doing it well. Iain and Janet Robertson
Went for a Procedure today with Dr. Haddad.... and would like to commend all the nurses and staff I dealt with. From the minute I walked in to the moment I walked out - Everybody was very courteous, personable, helpful and a pleasure to deal with.
Chathamkent mental health alliance is a complete joke. Thanks for making me wait a damn year for therapy for the same psychiatrist who forced me to take medication. You guys are awful.
12 hour wait in emergency with sick child.
Waited 7 hours and was passing out in wating rooom service here is poor understaffed. Canada = Free healthcare = Garbage and people waiting who have nothing wrong but just have nowhere better to be = chatham. U.S.A = Payed Health Care= Great Care no wait time or insufficiant nurses and practioners.
Most slowest waits and some of the rudest people work here needs to be shut down the people at this hospital do not care for there people
My 8 month pregnant girlfriend was held against her will for an extra day. We spent two nights in a room with a window that would not shut, it was freezing at night. After we followed all the guidelines given and were discharged they called the police and lied about us. I would not recommend anyone to go to this hospital unless you like to be lied to and about. God bless!
The first time I went in September I was sent home to take Advil and Tylenol. I was so sick that I had to return to the hospital a week later. I was treated extremely well the care was incredible. Dr Dixon was the best. I had a ct scan an X-ray and an ekg as I went in to the hospital with heart palpitations .and told not to take Advil. Turned out I had pneumonia. Dr Dixon followed up with me through the night I was very grateful. I stayed there for two nights and all the staff were fabulous. Yes the wait can be long unfortunately estehen your sick it seems longer. Thank you Chatham Hospital for your care????
Ridiculous service and rude personnel. Called the diagnostic imaging office with a simple question and was met with rudeness and a total lack of knowledge regarding ultrasounds. When I inquired about whether they offer vascular ultrasounds (Doppler technology) for the extremities, I was told that, “an ultrasound is an ultrasound.” Waste of time.
Does not follow patient request. Rather go on lunch breaks then take care of the needs of patients.
Went for a MRI. Everyone was super friendly and helped me stay calm. I have severe anxiety, but the friendliness of all the staff made it a fairly easy experience. Thank you to everyone
I called the ER early AM today to ask about wait times. I told the person who answered the phone in ER that I thought I had broken my ankle and couldn't stand up. She laughed, and told me that if I had a broken ankle, I should come in as soon as possible. I am not from Chatham, although now live here, and can advise that hospitals in larger centres would not permit or even have an employee who acted like this. I had to point out to the ER employe that my broken ankle wasn't funny or a laughing matter. People like this who lack sensitivity and professionalism give health care, and in this case the Chatham hospital, a bad name.
I had a small injury to my arm and wrist..in to emergency room by approx 7:15 AM .. out with a shot for pain, x-rays, consultation and a splint on my way home by noon.. everyone was pleasant and working very hard for all patients..
