I didnt think I would eventually talk about this but hearing so many horrible stories I feel I should share mine. In January-april I was in and out of emergency in excruciating abdominal pain, bleeding for 3 months straight and started fainting on a daily basis from the pain. Everytime i went in, nothing but a blood and pee test were done, even though dr Clarke said it could have been my appendix bursting but didnt bother to check lol. One day in specific was horrible and since april I've been too scared to go back because of this experience. I explained to the triage nurse I have endometriosis, she looked at me and my mom, completely dumbfounded and told me that wasnt a real disease. We talked to a different er nurse and she said she didnt know what endometriosis was and when I explained it to them, they wrote it off as endo pain. Dr Clarke was the doctor I had that night and he is a NIGHTMARE. He came in the room, completely belittled me, made me feel as if I didnt deserve care or to be there. He said "you've already had a laparoscopic surgery a couple years ago, you're farther than a lot of endo patients so you should be thankful and not complain about your pain" i stopped him and asked him not to belittle my pain and that just because someone else hasnt received the care I had in the past, doesnt nean I dont deserve to be here and he stopped me, raised his voice and said " if you're just going to be aggressive I'm going to leave and not help you". Honestly I wish he did leave. I imedietly started crying and he told me my pain was in my head and he "has seen real people in pain"... he then came in asked me to sign a paper for "pain medication" and he put me on a ketamine trip. It was a horrible experience, and he laughed when I was balling my eyes out after, scared and said it didnt do anything. The nurse that was with him felt so bad for me she came in the room after and sat with me, apologized and offered to get me tordol for my pain. She told me to report it when I left but honestly you feel so useless and defeated after something like this. Reporting doesnt do anything so why bother.. I will never step foot in CMH again after the "care" I recieved. Some of these staff should be so ashamed of themselves.
The doctors here are incredible and the nurses in the maternity ward are some of the most amazing people I've ever met! Thank you so much for all the incredible work you do from me and my family.
So far between yesterday and today I am at 13 hours of waiting time. The doctors seem thorough, but nothing gets completed quickly. The tests were, but the waiting time is horrendous. Patients in extreme pain, vomiting were left squirming in the waiting room. Seemed degrading for them. I don’t live here anymore and it’s been about a decade since I’ve been to this hospital... nothing has changed sadly. Not to disrespect the staff, because even though they’re so busy, they are never rude at all. I hope the new ER helps alleviate wait times for people.
Not that I ever want to go to the hospital, but when I do I've always been treated with the utmost care and compassion. Today it was the Diagnostic Imaging crew. Thanks again :)
Due to employment purposes, it is now required to get tested before start. I was so scared as I have heard so many bad things about the test, but the nurses who did my test, was awesome and gentle. I only remembered Nurse Brenda who kept calming me. I am not good when I’m at the hospital, but her voice is so soothing. Thank you CMH nurses for this! ♥️♥️
I ended up with a bad infection due to a failed root canal and they quickly got my health out of the danger zone and got a specialist oral surgeon to pull the problem tooth. I really appreciate the care I received as I was in and out 5 times in a span of a week. Professional and friendly doctors and nurses all on the front lines helping each and everyone of us coming in for help.
I’m not quite sure where to even begin with the awful treatment I’ve received from this hospital. From the lack of response while trying to obtain a covid test, to the rudeness of the staff and unprofessional behaviour, to more recently, complete lack of care during two trips to the emergency department. I tried to reach their covid testing centre for nearly 2 days with no answer. I contacted the hospital main line to ensure I had the correct number and was told “call public health it’s not our problem”. More recently about 4 weeks ago I went to the emergency department regarding excruciating pain I was experiencing in my leg. They ran no tests, did not do any ultrasound or x ray despite me saying I was unable to walk without limping due to the pain, I was told to go home and take Tylenol. Two days later I was back to the ER as the pain had progressed to the point that I was unable to walk at all on my own without breaking down in tears. Not only did their staff show zero compassion, they didn’t offer a wheelchair and sent me walking across the entire hospital to get an x ray done on my back? even thought the pain was in the upper part of my leg. Made absolutely no sense to do an x ray on my back. Anyway, by the time I made it to the x ray department I almost collapsed from the pain and was provided a wheelchair immediately by the technician. When I was taken back to the emergency department after the x ray was completed, the attending doctor asked “why was she given a wheelchair” are you kidding me? I couldn’t walk. Despite me constantly saying I was in excruciating pain, she was shocked that I was given a wheelchair. Their doctors are cold hearted and lack compassion or even common sense. I was given a blood test to which her response was “oh I guess you have an infection based on the blood work but we don’t know where or what it is. Take amoxicillin and this pain killed and you’ll be fine”. I also had a fever to which she responded “maybe you’re panicking and giving yourself a fever”. Excuse me? I’ve never felt so disrespected in my life by someone in a medical field it was the most disgusting response and behaviour I’ve ever experienced. 3 days later, I was rushed to st Mary’s with a spiked fever, inability to walk at all and had to have emergency surgery due to the infection that was in my body that the staff at Cambridge memorial didn’t care enough to check for and insinuated that I was “making up” or “imagining”. I am appalled that ppl like this work in the medical field. To say that Cambridge memorial hospital is awful is a complete understatement. Perhaps they’d benefit from hiring staff who actually WANT to help patients. If I could give this hospital negative stars, I would.
This is by far the best hospital in the Waterloo region! I have never had a bad experience there. Sure you sometimes have to wait but it's not the staff's fault...It's our system that is flawed. I've had my knee replaced there and now I am getting cancer treatment. Both departments have been amazing! I really appreciate the hard work they do every day especially during covid. They risk their lives every day to care for us. Thanks to all the staff that took great care of me. A special thanks to AJ . Keep up the stellar work!!!!
my girlfriend has to go through physio for her wrist now because the team at Cambridge completely overlooked an obvious break that our understaffed and overworked team at Western University Hospital in London found on her old charts from Cambridge and said that any competent radiologist would have seen that and not just sent her home with pain meds. she is a hair stylist and has stated that it is hard for her sometimes with her wrist locking in weird positions, that we now know was caused by that break. and I've been reading other reviews that say this is a similar experience they have had with this facility. also Stephen you sound like a tool when you respond to someone who has had an awful experience at your hospital with "Well, I pErsOnAllY disagree with you". that's because it didn't PERSONALLY happen to you dips***
Medical staff are great, compassionate and caring. However hospital administration are another story. I wrote to CEO/President regarding a visit my son had and my concerns regarding his treatment in hospital and after discharge but heard nothing back. I wrote another letter to a member of staff and asked that it be passed on to appropriate person or persons and once again heard nothing. I had serious concerns about my son's care but apparently they weren't deemed serious enough for staff to take any interest. Too much bureaucratic noise to get involved? He now refuses to even consider returning and it has set his recovery back. More attention needs to be paid to all areas of care not just treat'm and street'm. Nor should people be expected to accept any level of care. This brand new hospital looks fresh and new on the outside but inside not much has changed. They can say they are listening to patients/community concerns but it seems to be nothing more than lip service.
My wife had health related problems with slurred speech and exhaustion. I found the triage station was very responsive however a little misleading when it showed on one of the waiting room screens that there was a 3 hr wait for care when I noticed barely 2 to 3 people in that waiting room. I understand more critical patients are ahead of you even if you have waited 2 hrs and a ambulance comes in with such a patient. I do feel that time sensitive care should be a priority for emergency care . I see things have a chance to improve, like faster response times and patient wait times being reduced. Maybe they can ask other hospitals what works for them and take that information and apply it , example, if say Los Angeles USA hospital can process 1000 patients per night then find out how they do it and use that service here. I just find a wait time of 3 hrs when there is 40 incoming patients seems high when 75% of those patients are likely not 911 emergencies. Being a Sunday may be the reason it takes so long. That being said the staff I'm sure works their best and because of the strain on Canadas health care system it does not help when there is a shortage of Qualified doctors and nurses. Hope this review is not taken too serious but realistic. Waiting room chairs are disgustingly dirty too.
I am unsure what to say about CMH... I get cancer care at the Medical Day unit, and I can honestly say the MDU staff (nurses) are exceptional and have always taken great care of me. My trips through ER have been more or less what I expected depending on time of day that I've gone. If there is a larger size of customers waits can be longer, the reverse also being true. However, the Doctors and Nurses in ER also have taken great care of me. My experience with CMH as an admitted patient, having been so a couple of times, has been varied. During the week I have found the patient care to be exceptional, understanding, and very caring both during day and night shifts. Weekends, however, especially the night shift (Sat. Sun nights) the nursing staff seem less caring. This may be due to reduced staff in comparison to patient number, of this I am uncertain. All in all my preference is to go to CMH as a general whole I have been cared for there extremely well; the food however could stand a bit of tweaking for individual patients. A number of times I have been given food that I really don't like as it doesn't appeal to me. I have never, however, been given opportunity to request alterations of the menu; but hey at least I was fed and I give full marks for that.
I went to the ER tonight with my five month old daughter who has a bad cough. The doctor and all the nurses I spoke to tonight were externally friendly and helpful. I have never had such a positive experience in this ER before. They were all extremely gentle with my daughter and answered every question I had. Also the DR, I forget what he said his name was, kept checking on me personally after I told him how anxious everything was making me. I felt the staff on this shift (we arrived around 7pm) were extremely attentive and friendly
I showed up in the Emergency at 4:00pm , I was moved to the mental health unit at 5:30 pm at 7:30 pm a man by the name of Michael came crisis counselor- he took two phone calls and acted like I didn't even exist..... he kept his conversation on the phone going, talking about foul smells. I got up and walked out he continued his call . I was already in distress and felt like I was not important. The triage nurse and the Emergency room nurse cared more about me. Michael was rude and didn't want to listen to me why I was even there. Cared more about his phone calls. This is why people don't ask for help when it comes to mental health concerns. I will be writing a formal complaint and will never again go to that hospital.
I'm happy I made it out alive out of this place but lots of people who seem to be unhappy are writing stupid reviews about personal experiences in the triage. As a 15 year old who was admitted for more then a week I was greeted by nurses and doctors amazingly. They were very kind, and had an exceptionally well attitude during COVID-19 time. Only downside was I was not able to meet with my family during this dark time. The food was good, nothing wrong with it at all just a bit different. If you wanted a snack they would without a doubt get it for you and have conversations with you which reduced the feeling of ''Isolation'' the hospital was clean, and the new part of the hospital is amazing, its modern appeal gives you a feeling you are in a hotel not a hospital. For the old part of the building it is alright, not ideal and hopefully they can modernize it like the new emergency department. Overall If you are in need anything, this is the place, their results are quick and they have the machinery for all sorts of tests. I did not need to be transferred and the staff went out of there way to make sure we were comfortable and happy as they could have done as a 3rd party. Well done guys!
Just before Christmas I had the misfortune of visiting the emergency department (the first time since the renovations have been completed) and had a very positive experience. I was greeted quickly, was treated with kindness, care and compassion and was very comfortable with the obvious COVID protocols that were in place. As someone who is immune suppressed, I appreciate not needing to flag that I am high risk and received very specific information on where to sit while I waited and why it was safer there. The doctor listened and I felt heard. The nurses not only treated me with kindness but I could hear down the quiet hall that they did the very same with every patient. The renovation is beautiful and the CMH team has much to be proud of. Thank you!
I had an MRI appointment. Arrived few minutes early. Staff was super friendly and took me in right away. Everything went smoothly and I am very happy with the service I have received.
Whenever I go here, I get the same speech from the Dr I see at around 3am.. "What would you like me to do for you? If you don't have a broken bone, severed limb or having a heart attack, see your family Dr." What I would like him to do, is address my reason for the visit.. not ask me what I want him to do! I'm not the doctor, he is. Difficulty breathing and coughing up blood isn't an emergency at this hospital. Do yourselves a favour and find another.
Recommended: I have been here several times for several different things over the years. This building has changed dramatically since the renovations. I have always been impressed with the staff. I always feel valued and heard. There is a bit of a wait for the ER, but the wait times are better I believe.
Had to be rushed here after an accident. They were very receptive and helpful even though I was being a nuisance (I kept screaming "Ow! my spleen!” because I thought my spleen was injured).
If I could give a 0 I would. Early December, my mother went in to the hospital with severe chest pains. Twice she went into the ER, and they sent her home within two hours with an Aspirin. Two weeks later, her family doctor advised her to get routine bloodwork. To discover she has SEVERE blood Luekemia and it was slowly taking over her body. She is now suffering, fighting for her life and its April. Due to the lack of care, the cancer spread through her body making this fight almost impossible. WORST hospital !! My mom is there right now for the past two weeks (as she got transferred from Kitchener to Cambridge) our zoom visit consisted of 20 minutes of her screaming for her NURSE HELP!! I called twice to see where her nurse was, and NO ONE HELPED HER!! I am limited and not able to see my mom and than seeing her hopeless? UNACCEPTABLE!!! DO NOT bring your loved ones here, I am begging you!!
I would like too thank everyone in the surgery department. Before and after. Very pleasant in all areas. Dr. Pook and his team on my surgery Feb. 12, 2020. You all made me feel very calm and comfortable. Couldn't of been better. Thanks again.
One of the best hospitals.
Pack some food for yourself or bring your credit card to order take out the food here is terrible
Took more than 4 hours to even see the doctor in the emergency room.
There needs to be more care and compassion. This hospital is changing the way they deal with mental health and It's causing harm to the patients. Psychiatrists, therapists can just drop their patients with little to no warning. Even if they're aware the patient is experiencing a mental health crisis and begging for help .Not a smart move, especially during a pandemic where help is needed most. A patient is only allowed a certain Amount of time with a Dr or therapist before they're kicked out. Leaving them feeling abandoned and lost. This is severely dangerous to people who are in need of help. We put a level of trust into this hospital as our family drs refer us here to receive specialized help...then the mental health workers tell us to go back to family doctors or the emergency room because they wont hesitate to drop the care of a mentally unstable patient. Sometimes the psychiatrists themselves tell you to "get over it" or they speak to you in a patronizing way. I personally knew a patient who explicitly told the mental healthcare workers that she was worried for her own safety before they discharged her anyways. She ended up commiting suicide Shortly after. Patients need to be treat with care and compassion at this hospital. Not thrown out and told to get over it. That solves NOTHING.
It seems that the doctors are in hurry and nurses are the unhappy with patients. It’s like they just want to get paid and leave. The waiting game will kill you. They need to train all their nurses properly, they have no manners and you will find only 1 out of 1000 nurses with compassion and humanitarian attitude. They call your name and make you wait in the hallway beside other patients, sitting beside each other and the doctor comes yells out your results and physical illness. This is so inappropriate discussing private matter in front of junkies who I never met in my life or will see again. If you guys don’t have enough rooms, why you call our names and make us wait in the middle of the hallway and people passing by and pressing you. These 4 seats are literally facing the washroom, and you can smell whatever is going on there. Been to many hospitals before in CANADA, but never seen dirty and unorganized place like this. You guys get defensive when people write truthful reviews because you guys don’t want to lose your jobs. I felt I was in third world country. You don’t even deserve 1 star.
we weretheree for 6 hours for several tests qith a vvery challenging ouycome. Everyone we encoumtered was wonderufl. Compasionate, respectful and caring. A challenging day buy we got to meet somw remRKABLW PEOPLE FROM NURSES ORDERLIES DOCTORS ANS TECHNIHJIAN. tHE NEW ING WAS BRIGHT AND AIRY ONLU NEGATIVE THE WATWE MZCHINE WOULNOT GIVE US ANY WATER.
On behalf of my 82 year old friend, unfortunately I cannot give a good review of this hospital's care. Diagnosed with cancer that compromises his breathing, he was admitted (via ambulance). After a few days he developed a blood clot that swelled his arms to twice their size AND was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. He was then, astoundingly, sent home alone to a two storey apartment with absolutely no support. It took 4 days for a nurse to contact him. If he hadn't had the support of good friends he would have been unable to give himself injections or even feed himself. Several days later he passed out and was sent to the hospital yet again via ambulance. While he waits to go to a hospice he remains in the hospital growing even more weak and unable to turn himself over in bed as he lies there with no support such as physio to keep him moving or to turn him. Just yesterday a doctor suggested he "should back off the pain meds." The nurses do their best, there is no argument with that, but the after care and social support for this elderly, ill man has been severely lacking in compassionate supportive care.
I would give 0 stars if I could. I can't explain how horrible this hospital is. Mismanaged and poorly organised, they have the rudest nurses and their hospital cleaners are a joke. I've spent the last 3 years in testing and been to numerous hospitals/specialists and no place had the complete lack of bedside manner and capabilities that CMH has. I wish they would axe all staff and start over honestly, everyone I know who has worked here echos the sentiment of horrible staff and worse management.
Had my baby early and doctors and nurses at labour and delivery were amazing including our special nursery care nurses. My baby is receiving amazing care and they are lovely people. Also spent some time in Er. Was seen quickly and my condition was taken seriously .
It really depends on the staff working. Some times they have a moody male doctor on and to staff seems moody as a result. He is young and a know it all. Aside from him the ER is wonderful especially the nurses.
ER department is INCREDIBLY slow. 5+ hour wait??? This just can't be acceptable.
My grandfather is currently in the hospital, due to a seizure caused by previous health issues. He was admitted to ICU once he got through Emerge. I can understand and respect most of the new protocols put in place because of covid. I really thought that the nurses/staff would be communicating more since he can't have any visitors, but we can never get ahold of anyone. We had a zoom call scheduled at 4:30 today, so we could finally see him... But something went wrong and we were all disconnected. The " paid volunteer" who is supposed to help with these calls left before she could help him connect. We sat waiting at the computer for the allowed 45 min for her to just click a button to let us join! She didn't even let us say bye.. She just ended the call, without getting to say anything to him. During our wait, we called the ICU, and around the hospital to see if someone could connect us, but no one ever did. We also just found out through my uncle that they moved his room, and no one contacted his wife, kids, or anyone else. It's very heartbreaking that the hospital and staff aren't now understanding to patients and family's needs at this time.
Tonight I was out walking doing some shopping in 104 humidity around 6:30. I live in a hilly area of town. Own my way home caring my stuff I tripped on a side way crack. I girl and guy stopped at my side and stayed with me until 2 EMS trucks pulled up to take care of me. The 2 drives girls wanted to take me to the Hospital. I Incised no 4 or 5 times . So they drove me home and made sure I got in the door OK. Now that was great Canadian service. I didn't even have ID on me. They really only wanted my name and got all the details off my local hospitals data base. Amazing work girls.
Ok here is the thing, nobody loves hospitals or waiting so long but I'm sharing my own experience just today, I got into the ER many times before because of my health situation, today I came in my worst shape and I didn't wait more than 30 mins to see the doctor as soon as they saw Me they got worried, all is fine till now but I'm so thankful and appreciative of the fact that when they decided to transfer me to grand river hospital in Kirchner cuz of more tests to be done they send nurse Madison with me and honestly I hope she can read my comment because I can't thank her enaugh of how kind she was and patient all the time even though she was done her shift she stayed with me and made sure I'm not panicking she stayed up with me till 9 am overnight..and we both were like zombies but she hold it up for me, thank you mady honestly.so maybe ppl they had bad experiences with the time waiting ect... But when you find a good staffs who cares you won't feel bad about anything else
I can’t believe this hospital hires most unprofessional and unmotivated ER physician ever!Literally did not want to deal with us and brushed us away. Was not listening to us and continued to say there’s nothing wrong.... avoid this hospital if you can
All staff are really good when I was in hospital they love and care me like as my mom and family. I am really appreciate their help.
We are so thankful fo True excellent staff and care we received over 5 months last year . You saved my husbands life and we will all be forever grateful . Dr. Macleod was top notch and I would highly recommend thanks again to everyone. You were all so kind and We are so appreciative what you do .
Not the cleanest, prettiest or even best organized hospitals. However, the people here are friendly and the care is top notch. Emerge is far quicker than Grand River and they are diligent with diagnosing and treating your ailments I have been through many areas of the hospital and am currently writing this review from a hospital bed.
I have had 3 hernia procedures done there in the last year. I found the care was excellent from triage, through emergency, my operations and post operative care. I spent a total of 14 days there and the doctors were excellent and the nurses were incredible to deal with. In my experience they were very professional and courteous and made sure I was as comfortable as possible although getting woken up in the middle of the night for "vitals" was a drag. I appreciate everything they did for me.
Amazing experience. I accompanied a friend who didn't feel her baby move and had a high BP. We were amazed with the care. Thankyou to the nurse and doctor who took care. Clean hospital and Not crowded. Stay safe.
Web-site is a waste of time. Click on the link to find the listing for a department, the "Page cannot be found". This is a great help when my daughter is writhing in pain and I need to contact the doctor in the ER who ordered her painkillers because the pharmacy could not find him listed. She was seen in ER because she does not have a primary care physician. Not impressed that someone would be left in great pain without the ability to contact the doctor, and without recourse!!
I have called long distance from Nova Scotia over the last 3 days to a patient over 36 times...without success !!! I was asked the patients name, and the call was put thru to his room, without success. I ended up complaining to the operator that the phone in the patients room must be turned off as not only I was unable to get thru, but the patients daughter tried 18 times and was unsuccessful !!! Something is definitely wrong with the system !!!And can't seem to get it corrected !!!
Staff were extremely nice and caring during our visit. Came by several times to check in with us and assure us things were going smoothly. Glad to have such a great hospital in Cambridge!
I recently visited Cambridge Memorial Hospital ???? , and my experience was incredibly pleasant. Everyone from front desk, Assistant at the entrance very welcoming environment. Super clean well managed. The Nurses and doctors I’m grateful for ????, Highly educated polite people who value the purpose of their field. I would like to Thank all of you!
It is a nice place to work.
I had best experience ever with paramedics team. I broken my hand ( open fracture). They came so fast and were so professional. Helped me with pain and really took care about me. ❤️
This place is no joke. Very dangerous place to be when you have an emergency. I mean Sat night the emergency has 1 doctor on duty with a waiting room full of 25 or more people. Was told it would be 8-12 hour wait. Can you imagine having to wait 8-12 hours to see a doctor and you are in the Emergency waiting room. 30 years ago before all of the Immigration, the word Emergency used to mean something.
A clean hospital that is being expanded. Very helpful staff too.
Lousy, hospital, lousy staff, they have the nerve to fire there workforce and that was when wait times were 6-8 hours, good luck getting in now not that Id want to, Id rather spend my remaining time at home then come in and suffer with those incompetent, ignorant clods HEY here is an idea stop paying your management such ludacris sums of money and hire decent staff
First of all, I've had a handful of experiences at this hospital and I cannot say one bad thing about any of them. Recently I had my best experience there and believe it or not it was child birth. On the night of October 6th I met a nurse name Aida. She never left my side during my labour. There are no words to describe this woman. She is very special and this is 100% her calling - other nurses even agreed! Dana, you were also great! Dinesh, Tara and baby Theo thank you from the bottom of our hearts. The next day we met a handful of other nurses on the 4th floor and even blood technicians who were so friendly and caring it blew our minds. Thank you Laney on the 4th floor, Michelle and Natalie in the Billy clinic. Such a great team! We will remember every single one of you.
Very bad experience at Cambridge memorial hospital. The OB nurse before even asking patient concerns, dismissed the patients worries and went on ranting about why the patient shouldn’t come to hospital but rather go to a pharmacist first. If the patient can diagnose their health condition and know that a pharmacy is better than hospital, then what’s the point of having healthcare providers ! The nurse was very rude, dismissive and inhumane. Wish there was a system to complain.
Assistant NP didn't take down all my symptoms, just dismissed most of them. The older woman NP was very short, curt, and not empathetic in any way. Since they wouldn't listen to all my symptoms they prescribed a treatment that would have ended up seriously injuring me.
If the cause of illness isn't obvious, good luck! Instead of pooling specialties to assess the patient in order to determine appropriate tests, a generalist runs lots of tests by guesswork, promises specialist consults for 2 weeks but never actually consults. Could be liver, could be kidneys, could be heart...If you actually need a diagnosis, go elsewhere. On the positive side, the nursing & PSW staff were fantastic, pleasant, helpful and cheerful.
Came here at 1am and now its 5:15am and yet no signs of any doctor, is this really a hospital??? And there are hardly 4 to 5 patients. This place need staff not just the new building... 6 hours and still no dr, leaving without getting checked up.... what a waste of night ...
Worst hospitality, improper behaviour of staff and receptionist was worst. Long queue and slow process.
Went to the mental health ward in December and my favorite story to tell is after telling my nurse I didn't feel safe at the hospital anymore - since my morning visit Dr was lying to me, he told me - and I quote "Maybe next time you shouldn't come here" very A+ thing to tell somebody who came because of suicide thoughts. Didn't see a psych or a therapist at all, sat in a room by myself for 3 days until they couldn't force me to stay anymore. Dr told me they would call to check up on me and never heard from them again. Also took 2 days to get a breastpump despite telling them from the time they admitted me to the time they finally listened to me about my breasts hurting that I was still nursing and would need to pump. 0/10 experience. Mental Health workers need to do better.
We had very best experience in CMH . Special care nursery staff were awesome . They take care our little one like a family member . Happy with over all performance
If I could give this hospital a 0, I would. My son went to this hospital with a concussion and they treated him like he had no injury whatsoever. It is very disappointing to me to know that they treated my son this way. I worked in the medical field for years, and would never treat anyone the way they treated my son. Anyone with a head injury or a suspected head injury should be treated with a great deal of care, no matter what ethnicity they are, not be discriminated against. I am more than disappointed with this hospital. It is disgraceful how they treat people. Sending my child outside in -22 weather with a head injury could have led to him dying and a negligent homicide charge for several members of the E.R. of this hospital. Please avoid, this hospital, if you are of colour and have a serious injury. If you go to this hospital, you are playing luck of the draw on whether your physician is or is not a racist. Update: In light of your unapologetic response, I will decline to cooperate with you for a show of an investigation. As I stated before, I worked in the medical field myself. I am disgusted by the way your staff treated my son. Your hospital already had the opportunity to do the right thing and threw it away. On a parting note, I am sure you are confident in the ability of your staff to be respectful and professional: Firstly, because they work for you. And, secondly, because you are likely not black. My son is part black. If he was white, I am sure he would have been treated better. This situation is not a excuse to cart out a blue shield or to make it sound like I have to prove to you how my son was treated by your highly racist E.R. staff.
Dr. Nateghifard and Simone at his office have been nothing but excellent! Dr. Nateghifard was very informative, had a good sense of humour and was straight up with me all the time. Simone is a very hard worker managing all his patients and gave me top notch service. I appreciate all they've done for me and easily give them both a 5 star rating. Thanks for the great job!!
I was diagnosed with C-Difficile on November 30, 2020. After going to the emergency department 3 times, I was finally admitted (never once was it checked to see if I was dehydrated). While laying in the hospital bed, with bag #15 of IV fluids still running, blood pressure was 180/100, I was told I was being sent home. The doctor did not attend to the high blood pressure issue because he told me that was not the reason I came in!! He actually told me I need to go back to emergency. I have had 2 hospital stays here and had to report the first doctor because he wrote a report, saying he listened to my chest and all was clear. Not only have I never even seen this doctor, I actually had bronchitis, but he wouldn't know because he wrote a fake report. There were many empty rooms on the A200 floor, so I wasn't discharged because they needed my bed for a Covid person. My only option, I feel, is to move to a different city where they have a hospital with educated doctors, unlike this one. I will be 59 in a couple of weeks and as I age, things break down. I can't live in a city where the hospital doesn't know how contagious C Difficile is, how to treat high blood pressure or doesn't have the common sense to check if a person is dehydrated using the restroom at least 20 times per day since November 30, 2020. Today is January 4th 2021. I was/am STILL using the restroom at least 5 times per day and of course this number has increased as I'm eating at home. Another call is in to the patient advocate as well as the Chief of Staff over the doctors. *****NEVER GO TO THIS HOSPITAL*****
Just left there with my 3 and a half year old daughter. I will say yes the wait times are long and suck when you have a small child. It can be a bit stressful when your child is whiney to go home cause they have been sitting so long. But I will say the staff make up for it. They're caring and really go above and beyond. CJ thank you for always being so kind any time I go in. Youre extremely thoughtful and super sweet to my kids. My daughter absolutely adores you and you made her feel so comfortable. She was one happy little girl when she got home. Thank you to all the other staff also that made sure my daughter felt comfortable. I don't think you guys hear it enough but we appericate all the work you do
Went to the ER with my 1 year old who had difficulty breathing tonight. Gasping for breaths at an increased rate. Visibly in distress. No guidance or timeline given by anyone. Had to leave after 5 hours. Day after note: ended up driving to McMaster because his oxygen saturation was dropping below 92%. He needed a bronchial dialator. As a first responder and someone that provides care to people, I'm ashamed this my home town hospital. Based on the previous reviews, no patients being seen in that 5 hour time span, the lack of information provided by the staff so I can even make an informed decesion, it would surprise me if there was actually a doctor seeing patients during this time period.
If I could give it zero stars I would, the new emergency has more room then the old building. Was told at the tour the wait times would decrease, I’ve found they have only increased. Asked two employees if they could help us find our way to X-ray In the old building they said to us they aren’t sure and to ask someone else.
I had too go to Emergency and I was pleasantly pleased with how well I was treated from triage right down to getting all the necessary tests. The staff work hard and yes the building is showing it's age, but it's only a matter of time until the new expansion opens! Having a hospital in Cambridge is a blessing. The free wifi plus ER wait time technology was also very neat to see :)
Pre COVID I was there for day surgery. I was very well taken care of. It was a busy day but I didn’t lack for attention and care.
I want with my baby to the emergency and the nurses over their are very rude. They are just like Robots.
I find it demonic of this hospital not allowing family members to visit their loved ones just because they did not get a Covid Vax. If that vaccine worked, vaccinated people would not get covid! I have a friend in ICU and his wife and children can't visit. This hospital is funded by tax payors. Shameful!
Shout out to DR. ROY GILLIES and NURSE KHAN WAQAS in the emergency dept. If i could only give you thousand stars, i would! You guy’s are incredibly helpful, friendly and super nice!!! Love going to this hospital, Very nice people and they make you feel you are very important and treat you like their own family. Thank you all so mucchhhhhh!!!!!
This place is useless and has the rudest staff at a hospital I have ever encountered you miswell just stay at home because coming here will do absolutely nothing other then waste your time
My son fell out of a tree and broke his wrist yesterday. We were obviously frantic and concerned. From the time we arrived until we left we were greeted with kindness and support. The care providers were incredibly helpful, promptly gave my son some medication for pain. Dr Matthew, ortho was incredibly kind. He spoke softly to my very scared son and took time to explain to me. Nurse Georgio was fantastic..he was sweet and funny and so incredibly careful. I wanted to express how thankful I am to all the staff and especially those who provided care to my son. I cant even imagine how the pandemic has hit you both personally and professionally but I humbly say thank you to you all.
My pregnant wife who suffers from anxiety was finally able to get an ultrasound to find out if she’d miscarried or not and they forced me to stay out. I was already in the waiting room **mask on**, complying to all their over-the-top “COVID rules” and they refused me to be with my wife for this devastating moment. This is all getting out of hand!
Just spent the last week here on medicine floor 3. Wonderful experience overall. Of course, the more talkative very sweet nurses and doctors who try to make you feel as comfortable and secure as possible definitely deserve a shout. Thank you all for being angels in disguise and helping us out during our most difficult moments. We appreciate it very much!!
My wife recently was there for a CT scan. It was less than 10 minutes from the time she walked in the main entrance and back out again. We were totally impressed. Keep up the great work.
Very friendly hard working professional staff. THANK FOR YOUR HELP
Reception for outpatient mental health are not wearing masks, despite asking me to lean right up against the hole in the glass. I mentioned it and she said "I have one right here," to which I replied, "but you're not wearing it." They still both have no masks on and were laughing at me as i sit twenty feet from them. Strange behaviour from grown women working in a hospital during an outbreak of a respiratory illness. Everyone else has to wear a mask so why dont they?
Last Wednesday i rushed my son in emergency and all i can say is that their staff are amazing, friendly, knowledgeable and hardworking. While sitting in waiting area i observed that the doctors and nurses attend to someone needed them most. So please be kind and have patience. They just don’t have enough staff.
Visiting Hospital was a positive experience from the ER to the fracture clinic. Everyone was very helpful. Special thanks to David in the fracture clinic.
I got to Cambridge memorial at 715 am inserted my debit Visa into parking the lever let me in and I parked upon leaving I assumed I'd insert my card again be automatically charged for my time and be let out however that was not the case 20 minutes later I was told get cash so I did I went to the stand to insert cash and was told I needed a ticket however I was not given one on my arrival I then got told to go to parking services which was closed and then to go to security where I was greeted by a man who clearly thought he was over qualified for his job and asked me 100 questions before finally letting me out of the parking lot 35 minutes later I was able to leave the hospital please update parking and ensure the machines work correctly after l that money was spent what a shame
I went for an MRI last night April 5th and was "scared to pieces". The MRI technician was FANTASTIC made me feel very comfortable showed me how it worked and talked to me during the process. I felt much better after she gave me her excellent compassion!!! She needs a praise!!! Marlene Huffman
Helpful Staff.
My wife is a patient there with either Her 2 or Triple negative breast cancer. We are still waiting on results for Her 2. Either type is chemo so she is receiving chemo. Every day she has very sharp pains. Its getting worse every day. So last night we went to Emerg. She spent 5 hours sitting there with everyone else. Turns out she was sitting in the Covid waiting area for over a hour. Great place for a chemo patient. Daycare said if she ever goes to Emerg she will be seen right away. I guess no one told Emerg. We left after 5 hours at 4 am. There was still 4 ahead of her. She said they hadn't called anyone in in over a hour. It was to unsafe for a chemo patient. New hospital same old incompetence.. You can't have a chemo patient in Emergency waiting room. Especially during a pandemic. Not to mention wheres simple compassion. There is no reason why patients can't have support I would wear whatever the hospital deemed necessary... doesn't my mask protect people from me so why not? Shes going through cancer. Wheres the simple compassion ?
From the pre op appointment and before and after surgery after I found everyone friendly and helpful Staff were very patient with others in the room who had more needs. Quite amazed and thankful . This was my first time in Cambridge hospital . I highly recommend it to anyone in the future. Special thanks to Dr. Gill and all the staff on floor 3B !.
My mom was brought by ambulance to CMH this morning. The emergency care updates was great until 1115. My mom gets anxiety when it comes to situations like the one she was in, and she doesn't always remember what the doctor days as her mind is just all over the place. I called at 1230, spoke with what sounded like an older lady in emerge and explained that I'd like to have an update seeing as my mom had no support with her, and the ladies response was "she's old enough to speak for herself and can understand what's going on" , like seriously how dare you. Complete patient neglect to mental health and I wish I would have gotten her name because a person like that should not be working with others. I get were all stressed with covid, I myself am a Healthcare provider and I would never treat anyone the way this lady did! If your burnt out from your job take a leave don't let your mental health wear out on others that depend on you!
Nurses and Doctors overall attentative and good bedside manner. Felt like I was heard and taken seriously. Had positive experience with all staff (phlebotomy, x ray tech, clerks, house keeping). Have used their emergency (for real problems) and was seen quickly. Have been for appointments as an outpatient and found the volunteers very helpful. Appointments ran close to my scheduled time, better luck if appointment wasn't at the end of the business day. Parking is a little competitive, hopfully this will be fixed with new building.
Long wait, but I expected that. The security people think they are real cops.Very intimidating.
People complain too much about this hospital and hold unrealistic expectations. Staff is great. The new side is beautiful
Was in emergency for a bit, felt very comfortable and it is very safe and clean was very organized...Good job Cambridge!!!!
Was in car accident morning of Dec 4.. I declined going to hospital after hearing the two ambulance men and fire dept discussing how busy the ER was and the amount of overdoses happening. I did have neck pain and I had a headache after the impact. The pain has since gotten worse. I was watching the wait times all day on Dec 5 with it being 5+ hours. This morning I wake up to severe head pain plus pain in other areas. I check the wait times, 2 hours. Perfect drive down here, the nurse took my vitals and reasons as to why I came to ER. Never once did she make eye contact. That was at 4:44am. Here it is at 5:57am and still not registered. Wait times are still showing 2 hrs treating 2, 4 waiting. So now I have figured out that once they register you that’s when the wait times begin. Not when they take your vitals. Pretty sneaky and pathetic! Certainly not impressed. I’ve been to emerge before and have never been treated like this. Such a huge disappointment!
Be prepared for a 10+ hour wait in the ER. Horrible hospital with only 1 doctor working. I won’t ever go back.
The worst wait times in the ER. Hire more staff.
On Monday August 2 I was with my daughter in-law who had just given birth to her son. He was jaundice and a new nurse named Kim came into our room at 6 am to start a new shift. She rushed the incubator in and very roughly put the sweet newborn baby into the incubator. He would not stop crying. I then paged her and explained that my daughter in-law wished to comfort him and then put him back in. She allowed it but was not happy and quite rude. My sweet grandson then went back into the incubator calmly. My daughter in-law's motherly instinct was correct and I was so proud of her. Later that day this nurse Kim was helpful with breastfeeding and helping them put the baby into the car seat correctly. My daughter in-law did not want to leave the hospital angry with this nurse. She thanked her and even hugged her. I was very proud of my daughter in-law. I do feel new mothers need comfort too and babies need to be treated with care and respect. This nurse was filling in and has 30 years experience however the care she showed my daughter in-law and her newborn son could have been much better. (All other nurses and doctors have been amazing. It was just this one nurse Kim.)
Waiting hours … horrible service
One of the worst possible Hospital management in Ontario. Absolutely no regard for any punctuality on booked appointments. Slow, need basic customer service training and time management. I wish I could give them zero.
The oncology staff is taking such good care of my daughter I am forever grateful
Attended Cambridge memorial today for a hernia surgury. I guess I expected something I should not have with socialized treatment. I don't call it healthcare because it is not. Americans have healthcare, in Canada we have government health treatment. There is no care. While waiting nervous for surgury you will be housed in a big communal environment with dozens of other people and bed sheets hung from the ceiling in replacement of actual drywall or doors. It resembles something only slightly better then a red cross medical tent in a refugee camp. The recovery room I was told would be yet another communal public environment as you wake up from anesthesia. This was an assembly line for fixing humans. It was not care. It was just the bare minimum of getting it done. I left before getting the surgury. I'm not participating in a scheme where the government steals half of my money while claiming I get free healthcare and then deliver a subpar product. Leave my money alone and allow private healthcare in this country and I'll shop around for the best product. I want the hospital to have to perform for my money not have a bottomless pit of stolen money from the public tax scheme. It's an outrage that our federal government has ensured equal suffering under this Soviet style health system and not allowed for free market care to come in. What do you ship your packages with? Fed ex. Or Canada post? I use fed ex. It's free market and very much better then the government run disaster that is Canada post. My packages get there faster. Cheaper. Better. No lazy government employees on strike.
I would like to thank all the nurses and Dr Roy for quickly tending to my issue today. Very kind knowledgeable nurses and doctor. I couldn’t have asked for a better team:) Jenn and Karl Kelly
This hospital's ER has zero regard for anyone's health or well-being. It is clear they aren't provided with the equipment their staff requires which compounds the issues. Expect to wait a minimum of 8 hours, or triple their stated wait time. You are better off to drive hours away from this place just to be seen.
Very helpful and cooperative staff, including doctors nurses front office and even volunteers ????♀️. I am really grateful ???? to all for showering us with that much needed care! Thank you so much!!
We just got home from our first visit/procedure at the hospital and it was an excellent experience. My husband had an endoscopy and colonoscopy at the Day Surgery. All staff members were extremely professional, kind and caring from the orderly who walked me to the right location, the caring nurses and knowledgeable doctors.
Worse ever I have never been treated so bad would not treat an enemy this way the nurse need to find a new career bee. Here 5 hours can’t breathe diabetic never checked sugars have eaten asked for a wheelchair to go washroom was told to walk I CANT breath no Doctor yet not hooked up to anything one nurse been here since I came I can’t believe they can treat someone this way. Asked for head nurse but nothing I have videos
When they aren't too busy, the staff work diligently and timely, treated me nicely through the emergency triage process and overall had a great experience
For six days in a row I had to go to emergency for a needle and pills. At no time was I pick on or ignored. Such a beautiful and caring staff. God bless.
Upon arrival, I immediately told the staff that I was having severe chest pains, trouble breathing and felt like I was going to pass out (I have a history of passing out and having convulsions). They said someone will see me shortly. No one did. Meanwhile another patient arrives an hour after me, having the same symptoms as me and was immediately seen and taken to the doctor right away. I was beyond shocked by what I witnessed. They took a patient who was behaving like a ridiculous drama queen yet wouldn't take me seriously even though I had to kneel on the floor for hours due to the chest pain and dizziness. At one point, there was only one nurse available when everyone else left. When the new shift came in, they kept seeing many patients that arrived after me with far less issues and continued to deliberately ignore me. I was in tears and in a lot of pain and struggling to maintain my composure. I was shaking so much and feeling extremely faint that I had to ask for a blanket. Only one nurse got one for me while the others gave me a very rude look and told me to go sit down. I tried to explain to them, repeatedly, that I have a history of passing out and convulsions, yet they refused to see me. Then the nurse had the gall to wheel that same "chest pain" patient who was admitted right away, past me a few hours later wearing a smug grin on her face and I had yet to be assessed by a nurse. I was appalled and shocked by their unprofessional behaviour towards me. By the time I saw the nurse, I was treated very coldly and told to give them a urine sample, and needed some more tests. After I gave them the urine, I was told to sit down, I NEVER had an ECG nor any bloodwork (the second nurse showed me the paperwork which said I needed those done). By the time I saw the doctor, I was feeling very sick and faint and it was after 10:30 pm (I had been there since 3:30 pm). He did a chest x-ray, gave me Zofran and told me to go home. Paramedics ended up taking me back to the ER the next day due to even more severe symptoms and agonizing pain that required being on IV narcotics or the rest of the day. I never should have been deliberately ignored like that, especially with chest pains, which is an urgent and priority symptom that requires the patient to be seen promptly. I ended up getting much, much worse and in more severe pain the nest day as a result of their lack of care and refusing to follow the protocol that is CLEARLY listed on their website. SHAME ON YOU FOR DELIBERATELY IGNORING DISABLED PATIENTS!!!!
Had a very long day there last Friday with long delays. Turned into a 12 hour stay. All staff there are kind, caring and attentive. Thanks to all.
Where nurses go to work so they can read books and play on their games while patients whatbfor hours on end because one Dr is on at night. Just to be clear, this is not the nurses fault, they do what they can, but for pity sake, hire more drs and less nurses so people get the help they need.10 hrs of waiting and left because of no end in sight. One person with a broken foot was there for 7 with no end in sight. Instead of a beautiful new building how about a plainer building, less nurses and more drs that can actually help people.
Been sitting here now for 8.5 hrs. Before seeing a doctor or getting any answers to my chest pain. I understand only one doctor on but certainly is not worth the wait when other hospitals are closer and faster.
The front line workers are doing a great job
I think ER in Kabul offers better service and a shorter wait times plus $12.25 parking fee was a nice slap in the face. God, don't even know where to go anymore family doctor takes one day to get a hold of on the phone then 8 weeks wait time for a non emergency appointment yet same doctor is accepting new patients, walk in clinic went there three times doctor googles up symptoms and all three times he was wrong. If it was me I don't care but its my child with severe allergic rash that's getting worst yet its classified as a non emergency and she can wait for 6hrs yet three check ins, dozen nurses, volunteers, EMS, Security and Police walking around with coffee in their hands? Three words disgusting, sad and inhumane. Dear Mr. Stephan Thank you for your response I hope you saved many lives and limbs that day, as a matter of fact looking at the negative reviews over the years compared to wait times statistically speaking I would say that you saved the lives and limbs of half the population of Cambridge, I will keep in mind to amputate a limb next time before visiting ER. P.S. taxpayers just paid for the new building and the parking lot so you should at least have a decency to select non-profit parking service provider and perhaps same with the wending machine, charging $12.25 for the parking and $2.25 for the bottle of water is so upsetting. When I was there was 52 people waiting lets say 200 per day visit ER that is $73,000 per month in parking lot revenue, does it cost that much to maintain brand new parking lot?.... Money grab!!! Also implement the policy to stop public employees e.g. EMS, Police, Security, Nurses from loitering, snacking, chatting and having a good time in face of sick patients who are waiting for 8hrs.
I always liked this hospital and in fact the doctors here are great and have taken care of me and my family. However, I am surprised that Cambridge Mem is hiring ppl at the front desk who have no manners and professionalism when interacting with patient. Feb 18th, 1:58 AM. The guy at the reception at emergency dept just yelled when asked him a question. Perhaps he would have heard better if he didn't have his headphones on ..
Birthing unit and postpartum staff are world class.
My wife and I welcomed our baby girl at the Cambridge memorial hospital obstetrics and we cannot say enough good things about the nurses and doctors in that unit. Dr. Green, Dr Cvetic, and Dr Martinez were extremely helpful and caring. The nurses who looked after us, and our baby in the nursery ,were extremely responsive, helpful and very knowledgeable; especially to us as first time parents. We cannot thank you guys enough and we hope you get the credit you deserve! Thank you again from Alan, Amanda and Abigail
So far I’ve been twice. Emerge and fracture clinic. I had ankle surgery after I had fractured my ankle. They surprisingly got me in so quickly and I was so terrified as it was my first ever procedure. The staff was so sweet & kind holding my hand. Second visit at fracture clinic went well. Again, staff was terrific... all but one. The individual who applied my second cast was a little rough with my leg & foot - I almost reminded her that my ankle was indeed broken lol. Otherwise, I don’t seem to understand these horrible reviews!
Waited here for a total of 8 hrs!! The elderly are treated so poorly that even my 11 year old wanted to help a lady that was literally falling out of her wheel chair and the nurses just watch from the desk and continue to sit!!! They need to make some serious changes around there!
Katherine Lennox is employed by this hospital in the mental health department, she was assigned to me. I almost lost my life because of her. She told me that I would end up homeless and then when she was taking heat for my care she lied and said things that aren't true to cover herself. Not only did this person tell me I would end up homeless, she had tears in her eyes and got to attached. We are suing the mental health department for this. She needs to be removed immediately, before more people loose their lives.
Would rather make patients sick by forcing mask policies that arent effective or supported by science than treat their patients to the best of their abilities. Also trying to enforce vaccines policies for a fake vaccine that doesnt prevent any spread of covid what so ever.
Never had a good experience at this hospital worst one I’ve been to. The ER is awful, ridiculously long wait times with no helpful outcome. Doctors are never on time for appointments. Honesty you’d be better going to a different hospital then here the level of care for patients here is quite disappointed from my experience.
Wish it were possible to give 0 stars. I've lived in Cambridge my entire life and absolutely hate going to this hospital. First time when my father passed away (I was a young kid mind you) they didn't bother to remove anything from him when we went to say our goodbyes. They were pushy and rude when we were all mourning our Dad and didn't give us any privacy either. Second time, I come in with extremely swollen limbs and face and in excruciating pain and they didn't do anything for me.They pretty much said oh it COULD be this, go on your way now. No meds, nothing. THIRD TIME, I had no choice to go to them as my Dr referred me to a psychiatrist there. She was rude, judgemental and I left feeling even worse than I did coming in to the appointment. The therapist I was set up with is nice, but never returns phone calls if I need to reschedule. Trying to get through to her voicemail to make arrangements is also a nightmare and the receptionists are extremely rude. I've had countless other terrible experiences, but my stories would fill the entire review section. Oh, and the fact you charge $12 for parking is ridiculous. No one asked for a new fancy hospital. Save yourself the headache and just drive 30 mins to Woodstock Hopsital. Hardly any wait times and the staff are actually compassionate.
My experience with the MRI scheduling staff could not be better. Extremely helpful and beyond nice.
To be honest, I'm being generous giving them even one star. Worst work environment I've ever been around hands down.
The entrance to this hospital is in a very odd and unusual place which is at the back. The entrance is self is very reminiscent of a back service door. There is a long ramp that l the l Once inside you walk into a hub of activity as the Tim Hortons and gift shop. It is a good vibe. the two times we have been to that hospital we were surprised at how happy and kind and helpful everyone is there we didn't come across one grumpy nurse or attendance or a person mopping the floor. You feel like you're going to have good care and in fact you do.
I am utterly disgusted with the lack of compassion this hospital has during these hard times. I understand that things are different with Covid, and originally they made us believe that they would keep us informed on my father's condition... That was a huge lie! When he was in ICU, we were at least able to get through to a nurse to find out how he was doing. They moved him to a ward ( without telling his wife or kids what room he's in) Now, we have been calling for the last 2 days, and been rushed off the phone by nurses, who promise to call us back.. None of which have. My mom ( and all who know my dad) are very worried about how he's doing, but not one person has got back to us. We have several concerns about his condition, but can't express them to anyone. I just can't believe that while patients and families are going through this, not one single person there cares. I highly urge anyone who can help it, to go to any other hospital.
The emergency section of this hospital is a joke! I thought the new wing would provide organized and caring staff, I was extremely disappointed. There is no organization, the staff are not knowledgeable and the doctor was so rude. Dr. Susan Cooke, she laughed at my husband's extreme pain and told him that he wasn't an emergency. I'd guess 80 percent of the people there were non emergencies, but there they were hoping for some relief to whatever situation they were experiencing. It was a 5 hour wait. Why didn't the triage practioner tell us that it was a non emergency? We wouldn't of wasted our time and theirs. It was a horrible experience. From the conversations I had with others it is a horrible experience for all. Avoid if possible!
If i could rate 0 stars i would. I brought my 18 month old in because she coulsnt keep any food down and had a recent fall and bumper her head. after triage i wsited 2 hours and no one came to look at her when the whole er waiting rooms were empty as were the treatment rooms so i left.
I had the best emergency experience I have ever had yesterday at Cambridge Memorial Hospital. It was a long wait, they were very busy, but even after spending almost 6h at the hospital with a 13month old I left in good spirits and felt great about my experience. The nurse who did our initial screening was caring and very kind, I needed additional help with collecting a sample and he came to assist very quickly and politely. The doctor who we saw took the time to explain our options and discuss treatment plans, I really appreciate being informed about my child's health. The nurse who followed up after to deliver medication and do more testing was also incredibly kind and friendly, and went above and beyond to try to make it a good experience for my little one. All three staff members were so gentle and interacted so wonderfully with my daughter. I was blown away.
No worries here
I was born there l also had a 2nd chance at life because of c.m.h my mother was a R.N there on 5th floor for many years also my son was born there a excellent hospital l also had great experiences with all my surgeries ! The one dr. Westacott called me the jaw man after my near fatal car accident in 1989 broke my jaw ! Thank C.M.H see you soon
If you are sick or in need of emergency care, DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL. the incompetence's of the "so called" medically trained staff are epic. Please, if you are in need of care that requires more than a first-aider, seek your medical attention elsewhere ....I wouldn't have given any stars but had to to post this. I hope it helps ...
Worst experience… Bad service , hours of wait for even a simple help needed ….!!!! Patient could die while he is waiting in this Slaughterhouse of a hospital And we have our Goverment to thank for this
I wish the hospital will do something about wait times. Came with my wife experiencing severe headace and vomiting. Atleast provide a comfortable place where pt can atleast rest. Sitting here with my wife in pain and my special need daughter for more than 3 hours.
My sister was at this hospital today, for minor surgery and 3 people asked for her and wanted to know if she was ok, 3 different time's the receptionist gave 3 different answers, they said she was discharged at around 6:00pm and then said she wasn't there and then got her name wrong and then finally found her after 20 minutes later, but later on in the evening around 8:30pm her fiance received the same treatment they couldn't find her in the hospital for 20 minutes and told him she wasn't there, I don't know what's going on in this hospital but they have no idea what's going on, but I wouldn't recommend going there to anyone, by the time they find your loved one it might be too late.
Abusive staff. Dr. didn't treat broken arm of 4 year old boy no matter how much we begged him.
My mom was in this Hospital, she is 89 year old and she has parkinson disease. The nurse brings her the food and leave on the table no one helped her. With her disease, she can't eat herself without help and she need help to go to washroom and to sit in the chair but to get this help she had to wait so long. I called and spoke to the public relation person but was pointless she said everything has done proper and reports from the staff is all good. This is really disappointing as the person supposed to look in to matter but said all is well.
Amazing Night shift staff for the sleep disorder clinic very helpful knowledgable professional thank you
Been here for a few days now and am very impressed. Doctors are very knowledgeable and thorough. Nurses are so kind, patient, cheerful, and caring. Food service takes great care in preparing healthy choices. I'm very comfortable and confident in the care I'm receiving.
Ridiculous. Have to be checked in by 3 different nurses. The check in process makes 0 sense. Would definitely recommend visiting Guelph instead of Cambridge. Left Cambridge and was checked in at Guelph by the triage nurse within 20 mins where as we sat in Cambridge for 1.5 hours and were still waiting to be checked in by the third triage nurse.
Waits are always bad and the covid screener shouldn't be the nurse.
I sat in emergency this past Sunday from 1pm until 7:30pm. At 5:30pm I finally get my bloodwork taken and am told I will have to wait to get an ultrasound and then probably wait a bit more for the radiologist to look over the results. Finally at 7:30pm I speak up about how long I will have to wait because I am absolutely starving at this point and want to get things going so I can go home and eat and what do I get told? "Oh, sorry The ultrasound team went home at 5pm." Thank you for wasting my sunday.
Waiting for 6 hours, EMERGENCY
While I think hospitals need to get over not allowing spouses in (say what you want, family doctor/walk in clinic/grocery store/everywhere else has no issues) i am very pleased with the doctor today. Unlike Kitchener hospitals that do very little (it is roulette depending what doctor you get anywhere) the doctor gave an outpatient MRI referral and specialist referral instead of nothing. In hindsight I wish we came here instead of Kitchener hospitals for our issues.
Waiting for 3 hours at Emergency just totally wasting of time
Although I’ve had decent experiences with day surgery and in patient paediatrics, the ER of this hospital needs A LOT of work. The quality and treatment from staff are terrible. The doctors are not knowledgeable from my experiences, and don’t really care if you have a diagnoses or not. Arrive is major pain, leave in major pain with no answers but scripts for narcotics. One test and they say ‘we don’t know what wrong so I think I’ll send you home with narcotics. Most people will get better eventually’. And the ones that don’t?? Seems to be the consensus from many that this ER likes to drug you up and send you off without answers. Even when they were actually life threatening issues that another hospital had to diagnose. There is one doc I’ve heard far exceeds the rest, so if you must go, hope for him. However, if you value your life and health go to any other hospital. Take the time to drive out of town, it will save you time and stress in the end.
Beautiful new facility to look at....it's just too bad that the attitude and communications don't match the building.... 2.5 star rating is stretching the truth about this place. We still don't have a hospital is Cambridge. It's just a building that looks like one.
My question to Management: why there is no doctors in emergency after 6pm onward. Nurses doesn't even know what is the expected time frame. If patient in emergency has to wait for 10 hours then what's the point of HOSPITAL EMERGENCY? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't do this to us. A lot of kids were crying, their mothers were exhausted, elders who were coughing had to leave because of looonnggggg wait literally avg wait was minimum 5 to 8 hours . Humble request to authorities please look into this matter seriously. I am very disappointed it was first and last time visit to ER at this place . 2 stars because Nurses were nice and they were trying to help. Edit : Kitchner Hospital is far better and quick in response . it took us minimum 1 to 2 hours to get everything done .
The place needs clean up. I understand it’s the ER but not like this. Very slow just to give you your results. I went there at 5:00am and got out at 2:00pm. It was not even busy. I don’t know what was worse, my pain or the sitting making my pain worse. The doctor said I’m fine and today I found out that I have inflammation.
What can say !!!! worst service , careless , lack of support You might die waiting …
Terrible here. Let the screener know I was having trouble breathing and had some pain and dizziness. Told me to sit down someone would be with me shortly. Half hour later I tell her it’s getting worse and I need help! Tells me to sit down someone will be with me shortly Within 5 minutes I had a full on panick attack and had to call 911 from the hospital just to get the care I needed. —— that’s right you read that right I had to call 911 from the emergency room because they were to busy to realiZe I couldn’t breathe. This hospital is a disgrace. Now I been waiting 4hrs to just see a doctor. Now I’ve just left the hospital without seeing a doctor because no one knows where the doctor is or how long they will be. Next time take a drive up to Kitchener Waterloo if u need any medical care.
Prescreened before a visit to rehab, gracious staff on visit
