REVIEWS OF Houston Adult Psychiatry IN Borden

I went for help with work-related anxiety and depression. They were able to help a little bit, but when the third or fourth antidepressant we tried didn't work, they suggested putting me in the hospital so I could see a real doctor. I would have lost my job (and insurance) if I'd taken that advice. I found an actual psychiatrist instead, outpatient.

Brandon Falcon

This place is always quick, courteous and no-nonsense. I appreciate Ms. Schiavone and her help every 3 months.

Nancy Wilson

I am a therapist and sometimes refer clients for evaluation for medications to Houston Adult Psychiatry. I have received excellent feedback about Natalie Walker from my clients. She is knowledgeable and warm. I would not hesitate to refer to her in the future.

Horrible people; from to the 'Nurse Practitioner' who called me an alcoholic and said I needed to go to AA - after I told her on average I have about 2 drinks per day - to the billing who doesn't check benefits and sends a collector to come get you after just a few months. Billing didn't verify my benefits correctly and stacked up months of charges which was given to me months later. Most of the people are 'Nurse Practictioners'. They listen to your symptoms, look at a chart, give you some options, and then tell you they don't really know what will work and that it's 'a lot of trial and error.' The notion that this is even a job and people can't do 'trials and errors on their own is ridiculous (but that's a different conversation.) My 'Nurse Practitioner' was Caucasian with the last name Chen which is the lead doctor's last name. One can only assume that's his wife. I assume this because she's white and a 'Nurse Practitioner' and acts like the queen of the office. I will refrain from using the 'C word'. My advise is not to come here. They make your mental illnesses worse than when you arrived.

This place is a scam. Delilah Hampton is a great NP, but cannot get back on my medication because they want to see me again, so I can pay $70 for an office visit that has absolutely no need (I've already been to the office twice!)... Also, if you're looking to be seen by a psychiatrist, you will not be seen by one, since they only work in behavioral hospitals.

Carol Zelenko

Awesome doctor's and staff. Caring and listens.

This place saved my life. They knew exactly what I needed to help me get my life back from my anxiety and depression. They are all so nice and helpful. I drive 30 minutes just to see them and it's so worth it. I recommend them to everyone. Delilah is the best she saved my life.

I wish I could leave less than one star. I absolutely love the nurse practitioner Delilah Hampton. But dealing with anyone else in this office is a NIGHTMARE. They called me and told me Delilah was having health challenges and they needed to cancel my appointment with her and set it with another doctor. Understandable. I set the appointment with someone else. I have been a patient here for almost a year, and I recently switched jobs so I have new insurance. I brought my new insurance card and no one was here to verify my insurance. So they told me to pay $70 and if it was too much they would give me a credit. I wasn't prepared to pay more than a normal copay. So I asked to be billed, they refused to bill me. This was a follow up appointment for some neuro testing I had done. They told me pay the $70 or reschedule basically. So now I want my test results so that I can take my business elsewhere. And it's been about 25 minutes and no one has given them to me. This place is horrible. With no loyalty to their existing patients. Update: I have been seeing another Dr for the past 9 or 10 months and as aforementioned, I absolutely LOVED the care I received from NP Delilah Hampton. Decidedly, I called HAP today to see if we could make amends and schedule an appointment, as my qualms were not with patient care, or treatment, but with office staff. I was told but the office manager that DR CHEN (whom I have never met before) said that I would not be allowed to be seen at this office again because I left a bad google review, and because I requested to be seen elsewhere. This place is a JOKE. What kind of business refuses service to someone based on a google review? You would think they would extend better service in hopes to raise their reviews, as they currently suck. I am writing yet another bad review to be petty, just as Dr Chen is. Don't waste your time here, and don't write a bad review, they'll ban you from the office.

At first I met with dr. Gwen, she was okay seemed knowledgable. I was sent for testing at another location. The location that I went was with dr. Stuart. They stated that HAP would receive my results within 2 weeks. I called HAP 2 weeks exactly and they stated they had not recieved my results. So I decided to contact dr stuart's office and they told me they had already sent my results. I called HAP back and they insisted they didnt have them. After they had me waiting for like 10 min on the phone to only tell me the email they sent my results to belonged to someone who is on vacation until the mid of August.. this was back in July when I was calling.. I was like what??? So, then I was asked to call dr. Stuart back so they can fax them.. I did. Finally HAP said okay we have them. We will make an appointment so dr. Gwen can go over results with you." I felt relieved. Day of my appointment 8/31 I arrived. Dr. Gwen said so how can I help you?? I was like well i am here to go over my test results. She apologized and said we have not recieved anything. I said, "I spoke to the receptionist and confirmed my results were in. I had to call dr. Stuart's office in front of her and waited like 5 min For my results. She glanced at them and told me what it said. I didnt agree with it so she said well I will have you come back and meet with DR MICHAEL BARBER. So he can evaluate you. I said okay. Day of meeting 8/19.. dr barber called me in.. so hi how can I help you??? I was like what do you mean how you can help me. Do you know why you have an appointment with me? He said actually I dont. So i had to explain to him everything. He then said well what results are you talking about because we dont have anything. At this time i wanted to smack someone because i felt i was just a joke. He was very aggressive towards me, and he even told me, " I repeated you 3 or 4 times I dont have anything so you might want to go try to get help somewhere else." When he said that, in my head I was like oohh no.. I did not pay this money to get to this. So nicely said, no sir please research for my results so you can look at them and review them. He said, okay well you have to go back and set in the waiting room, I said okay. They called dr. Stuart's office again. And as soon as he recieved them he said well this is what I will give you.. HE prescribed me medication without even talking to me or seeing his medical view. He was very unprofessional and rude. I did not take the medication and will go somewhere else to get evaluated because taking medication just like that it's not worth it. My mental health is worth more than anyone. If you took the time to read this.. I am not telling you to not go but I wanted to share my experience in this place. Will never go back.

This place changed my life and I'm so happy I found it. Delilah is professional, down to earth, patient, easy to talk to, and extremely prompt to return a phone call or email. I went through a series of appointments and medications to find the right combination and I never felt alone through the process. Delilah listens to my thoughts and concerns completely to determine what the best solution is for me. I would recommend Houston Adult Psychiatry.

I first became a patient of Dr. Chen in 2011. I was at one of the most lowest points In my life. I felt hopeless and thought I could never recover. I felt there was no help, in a world that felt so dark and terrible. But life had other plans for me. I was nervous, I felt so uncomfortable walking into the room to first meet him. After seeing mulitble psychiatrists in my life, I considered them all the same, they treated me like another cattle to be herded into pharmacy land. But when I sat before him, there was something different about him. He treated me like a person and actually listened to what I had to say. He went over my treated plans and what I needed to do to get better. After multiple visits I had improved so much, everyone around noticed a difference. I couldn’t believe how insightful and truly professional he was. I really owe my life to him and Nurse Practioner Delilah Hampton. They have both been life changers and are truly one of the best and most experienced Doctors I have met. They always take the time to customize your treatment. It is now 2018, and I will never change doctors, because I truly think they are the best option in terms of psychiatric treatment in the Houston area. I now see NP Delilah full time. She is so amazing in everything she does. She truly takes the time to take care of all my needs and is so educated in all aspects in psychiatry, from new medications coming onto the market, to side affects and even life tips to better my life. I feel so blessed to have found such qualified health professionals. Thank you to Houston Adult Psychiatry! Even when I moved to Waco for a year and a half, I drove almost 3 hours to see them! I refuse to see anybody else.

I'm baffled at the professionalism of this facility. My first visit was horrendous, and I was offended by the nurse they put me with. I requested another practitioner my second visit, and it became a mess. I can understand that might not happen often, but a patients comfortability is imperative to successful treatment, and I was already really bummed out about not having my regular doctor of 3 years anymore due to insurance change. I did get to see a different person, but as I was leaving they said they needed me to see the main doctor at my next visit and would call me to make the appointment. I call to follow up after 3 weeks, and they tell me that I was allowed to see someone else out of courtesy, but the ONLY PERSON accepting new patients, out of the multiple practitioners, is the one I don't feel comfortable with. Highly doubtful, and unfortunate. I really liked the addition added to my treatment, but I can't see someone I feel uncomfortable with. I think they should be more open minded to this situation if it ever comes up again.

Natalie is AMAZING!!! She was very nice, understanding and encouraged me that I was brave and took a big step towards a happier healthy life. I love her holistic approach and educating myself on some of her observations. I couldn't be happier. The wait time wasn't bad. I didn't feel rushed or like she wasn't listening. Overall 10 out of 10!

Bryan Gunderson

Great job diagnosing a condition others have failed to in the past

April L Dvorak

All of the staff made me feel comfortable and welcome. NP Natalie Walker is amazing. Her guidance and support helped me more than she'll ever know. I consistently recommend this facility to my friends, family and colleagues.

Everything is pricey due to my copay and insured, but worth it. I'm on an unpaid LOA due to my mental state, so time is of the essence. They finally got me to goo to an inpatient facility where Dr. Chen personally and DAILY worked with me to get my mania down, functionality up and stability. Nurse Practioner Natalie Walker is tough and straight forward which can be off-putting. However, I beleive she means well and with years of experience, I found it easier to take her advice. She is friendly but no B.S. and I think we need more of that in a place where the sick need to get well. The office\ waiting room here can be frustrating when you're on time and it takes an hour to see someone. I'm typically early and wait 30 minutes after my appointment to see someone. I will say the front desk staff is kind and courteous. Steph at the front desk talk is sweet and professional. Jennifer is nice as well. They are both professional, friendly accommodating.

Been coming here for awhile and getting great care. Especially from nurse practitioner Britney Kasmir. She has been very helpful working with me to find solutions for my mental health needs

Becky Eakins

I have been seeing Dr. Chen since 2007. He has always been helpful and thorough during my visits. After he decided to be strictly in hospital only, I started seeing Delilah Hampton. She is kind, informative and just as thorough as Dr. Chen. My appointments are always handled with care and I always leave with more knowledge than when I got there. Delilah is compassionate and I am pleased with every visit. I have been going to this office for 10 years now and I have never been disappointed. I wouldnt want anyone else in charge off my mental health.

If you’re looking for a psychiatrist in Houston don’t hesitate and make an appointment with Delilah Hampton. I refer my friends to her. The office is very professional. Delilah always goes the extra mile by actively listening and getting to know you. I have a chronic illness that is is very difficult to manage. I can always count on her help. She always listens makes me feel like her number 1 patient. Definitly two thumbs up and five stars!

Austy

I'm sure other Doctors here are great. This is based off of my experience with Lenora Chen. I battle with very intense anxiety and she actually ended up making me have a slight panic attack in her office due to her being quite rude, she rushed the visit (it was under an hour), while I spoke she acted as if she wasn't listening to me and she interrupted me a lot, she made comments that made me feel ashamed of how I am and NO psychiatrist should make you feel that way. I will not be returning here and I advise anyone who does want to go here to just avoid this person.

Kaape Coffee

Doctor Chen is very knowledgeable unfortunately he does not practice here and my daughter ended up with nurse practitioner July Dang which does not follow up very well with patients and lacks experience.

Just A Girl

In my experience, a psychiatrist is one that listens to your history, reviews past psychotherapy and med reports, and begins a course of treatment based on that and your current state. Unfortunately, it wasn't until after being seen for over a year that the request for my official medical history was even made. I feel like this place is an assembly line of workers, pushing the cattle through at the most profitable pace possible, and using a caddle prod (48-hour no-show fees) if you don't abide by their rules. It's taken two years to get my meds to work properly for me, and while I understand that adjustments need to be made, two years at $50 a pop each month because the right questions aren't being asked and common procedure isn't followed is ridiculous. But they know they can do it because we are patients dependent on meds. A very sad state, indeed.

Hany Abdelmessih

Thank you Julie Dang for all your support and thank you Dr. Frank for an outstanding job putting up with a difficult mentally unstable disabled man like me!!

Crystal Barrow

Can't get back on my anxiety meds because he put a level on me I need someone to respond soon to this message

Susan Parkman

I have had the honor of the professional in this office to help, support myself and many others to mental wellness.

Nickolas Morton

My initial view of this place was nice... But now they refuse me services because in 2016 I did a no call/no show One time. I didn't do it on purpose. It was Sunday and I literally moved to Galveston in a single day. They tell you to give them at least 48 hours notice if you can't make it...but my friends asked me to move with them and they helped me pack in a single day. I would have called but it was useless because they are closed on Sunday, and calling same day would incur a $50 charge and a warning anyway. I'm just sayin'...this is a strict way to treat mentally ill people. So because I can't even get meds from them anymore,... I'm giving them a low score here on Google.

Mike Sully

I'd highly recommend this psychiatry office to those looking for new doctors. As the name suggests they're focused on adults which means there is a very professional atmosphere (which i appreciate!) Both the front staff and Dr. Barber is extremely professional and helpful. If your looking to transfer (both within Texas and out of state) and become a new patient they'll easily be able to walk you through the process. -Mike

I have been a patient for a year now and their communication is terrible. My pharmacy is always trying to reach out to them to get refills and no response. I have to be the one to CONTINOUSLY reach out to them and tell them to send my refill. And not only that but when they finally send thr refill it’s always incorrect. My insurance only covers a 90 day supply and they’re always sending only a 30 day one. And I have told him this MULTIPLE times and it keeps happening. Very unorganized, poor communication, will be looking for new place soon because it’s just ridiculous that this is every single time that I need a refill. If you’re considering this practice run the other way. *update* I did exactly what they told me and made an appointment. It’s been three days and only one of my prescriptions was sent and the whole point of the appointment was to get the authorization for the 90 day supply which was not sent. I left a voicemail and I sent an email and I have yet to hear back from them. My pharmacy keeps stating they have not heard anything from them besides the other prescription. I’m down to about a weeks worth before I’m out and have no more antidepressants. Still waiting to hear from someone.

I see Lenore Chen; Nurse Practitioner. She works closely with Dr. Frank Chen, MD Psychiatrist. Lenore is kind, compassionate, caring, knowledgeable, and knows how to deal with complex mental illnesses. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a good psychiatrist. The office staff is also wonderful and helpful. I see Brendan for monthly injections and he is also very caring and helpful. Lenore and Brendan helped me lower my injection cost through their pharmacy. I am so thankful for caring doctors and nurses like these. I would have never been able to afford my meds without their help. I've been their patient since 2005 and I don't plan on going anywhere else. Thank you Dr. Chen, Lenore, Brendan, and the rest of the staff.

Amanda Lehew

Have had numerous unprofessional experiences in the past with this place, I think the management may only pay attention to Google Reviews so here goes. After my psychiatrist left I had an appointment scheduled with another provider, I couldn't make the appt and cancelled via voicemail box after repeated calls. Receptionist rescheduled me, I thought everything was okay, but I get a call back a week later saying they can't see me. I call back and schedule with another provider, again, I think everything is okay. Received a call yesterday saying I couldn't be seen anytime this year and I am considered a new patient at this point in time. So at the last minute I am left without a provider and prescriptions. I should add that this place considered me a new patient after I had been going there as a current patient for roughly six years.

Brandi Mason

This was my very first time seeking the assistance of a therapist, and I’m not sure I will again. The receptionist was wonderful, but I cannot remember her name. Kind, polite and respectful. The Nurse Practitioner was dismissive and humiliating. As I worked towards sharing my emotion and stressors, she said, “If your job is stressful, perhaps you need a new job”and ”your sister has been dead for over two years, you are not feeling anxiety about that, there is no recent trauma in your life” and “your asthma bothers you? Mine hasn’t bothered me for years.” I went in totally open to alternative treatment, but I will not be going back. I can’t imagine putting myself through this again. Would not recommend.

I have been seeing Brenda for about 2-3 years now is she is wonderful. She is attentive, listens to me and works to establish effective dialog between her patients and herself. She never rushes and seems to genuinely care about her patients. She also is very good at offering the best solutions, whether they be prescriptions or advise, and doesn't just rely on drugs to provide the best treatment for my mental well-being. I HIGHLY recommend her.

Loni Savage

I have been coming to Houston Adult Psychiatry for many years and I am glad to be able to write a review. I see Natalie Walker and she is a blessing in my life. In particular, she doesn't rush me in and out like previous doctors I have seen, spending a lot of money for 5-10 minutes of their time. Natalie takes as much time as needed and is truly concerned about my wellbeing and how the treatment is working for me. It's like a mini counselling session. The office staff is very professional and Brendan, who responds to refill requests and other issues is wonderful! He responds quickly and professionally and goes the extra mile to help solve any issues I have had with insurance etc. Definitely the best place I have been to.

Jeannine Eberle

I am Dr. Chen's patient for well over 12 years and deal with Julie. I have left her 4 voice mails and she has yet to return my call. I have tried to get a hold of Dr.Chen, but I can't get to him for some reason. I would highly recommend you don't go to this office, especially if your going through any mental health issues!!!!

Lisa Wetuski

Dr. Chen saved my life and Delilah is a godsend. I won't see anyone else. I've been seeking treatment at this office for 13 years and have no complaints. My concerns are always addressed and I never feel rushed even though I know appointments run on a schedule that needs to be maintained.

DH Transocean

My A.P.R.N., Brenda is a total pro: Knowledgeable, empathetic and friendly - EXCELLENT SERVICE!!!!

This happened last fall, but I feel the need to warn everyone to stay away. One of the nurse practitioners made a typo on my prescription. Both myself and my pharmacy called the office several times during the whole week and neither the doctor or the other nurse in charge of handling the prescriptions bothered to fix it. The receptionist(s) answering the phone kept saying the doctor said he will "take care of it later today or tomorrow" and he NEVER did.

When you go to a place like this you think of comfort, kindness, and someone who understands your mental state?! Not sure if it do to COVID or personal issues, or maybe it’s my luck in talking to the wrong person. But my impression on the ladies that I’ve spoke with have been rude, impatient, unprofessional, unorganized, uncommunicative. Here’s a suggestion just quit if your job is becoming to much for you or you don’t have a sense of feel for it. My last couple of visits the energy has been negative and rushed

cheyenne hathaway

When Hanh was still in the office I had the best experience. I was transferred to Julie and felt ignored in the very first appt. This could've been an overreaction but considering I had to say the same thing three times before she listened, there were several things that went completely unaddressed, and I have a friend who was seeing her who had the same problem, I don't think it was. No problem, I just asked to see someone else for my next appointment and that was a super easy process. Scheduled my next appointment for my lunch break. 20 minutes into what should've been my appointment, no one had called me so I had to call and completely cancel as I only had 30 minutes. When I called to let them know that no one had called and I was out of time they said "you really can't wait any longer?" Then told me there were no future openings they could offer me. I really wouldn't recommend this office to anyone at this point

I am looking for a Psychiatrist. Need one as soon as possible.Plz help me find a good Dr. I have United Health Care.. Star plus. Ineeda Dr. To be there for me. Plz Help.. Deborah Rodriguez

You meet with the nurse practitioners rather than the actual psychiatrist. I'm not sure what the psychiatrists do here, since it doesn't appear they actually meet with any of their patients. The nurse practitioner also prescribed me a medication that I am supposed to take daily, but advised me to take it only "as needed". I only found out it was NOT an as needed drug through my pharmacist and through my own research afterwards. The office in general is disrespectful of your time, I am usually seen 30 minutes or more after my appointment time. Twice I waited over an hour (and I've only had about 5 appointments). I am not sure why they schedule this way as I've never been seen on time. Awfully run customer mill. No one here cares about their patients, look elsewhere.

Tracy Whitt

I have been seeing Dr. Chen and Delilah for years and they have been the best!!! They really listen and take care of your needs. I would recommend them to anyone!!!

Like others writing reviews here, I had a very bad experience with Lenore Chen (the nurse practitioner- not Dr. Chen). She didn't show up to our first appointment and had her husband, Dr. Chen, sub in for her. Our second appointment was cancelled by her and rescheduled. When I came in for the rescheduled appointment, she was 45 minutes late and didn't offer an apology or even acknowledge her lateness. She seems to have poor time management, disrespect for her patients' time, or more likely both. Once I finally did get to see her, our appointment was less than five minutes long. She said that she had read over the notes Dr. Chen made in my appointment with him, but seemed to be very unaware of several very important aspects of my mental health issues. Also, at one point Lenore asked how my sleep was, and I mentioned that I was continuing to have very vivid nightmares. Our conversation proceeded like this: Lenore: I'm sorry. Have you tried (medication x)? Me: Yes. Lenore: Have you tried a higher dose? Me: Yes. Lenore: Oh...okay, I'm sorry. And then she moved on and that was the end of that. Like if there is no other alternative to that one medication, okay, but if so just say that. It seemed as if she was just in a hurry to get me out of the office and didn't want to bother going into other options with me. I left feeling so frustrated and disrespected. However, Dr. Chen, her husband, was a very good doctor the one time I got to see him. He was very knowledgeable, thorough, and took time to listen to my concerns. The medications that I'm taking after seeing him are much, much better for me than the medications I had been taking before. I felt like Lenore's absence on our first appointment was a bit of a lifesaver in the end, because I get the feeling that he is typically more difficult to get an appointment with.

I had a great experience with Brenda so far! She was very good at finding out what's going on without being judge mental. Is willing to negotiate. I didn't want to take certain things I had been on in the past and she was considerate and understanding. Got a different diagnosis than I thought I had for 10 years. I had unsuccessful, traumatic events from medications from depression. Thank you for being informative as well.

I recommend Delilah to anyone wanting to be heard. She is compassionate, provides the best care in Houston.

Shanicee Lovee

I am currently meeting with Brenda and I had my first meeting and it was amazing. The wait time was not long either.

They refuse to return phone calls. After countless messages. Whats the point of having a phone if you intend not to use it. At least in the VM state please leave a message and we promise never to call you back. What an absolute joke!

I started seeing Dr. Chen when I was at Cypress Creek Hospital in 2013. I’m still a patient of his in 2021 at Houston Behavioral Hospital & I see his NP at the office. I’ve never had any issues besides getting documents filled.

C Taylor

My husband has been seeing Dr. Chen and Natalie since 2014 and we are very pleased with his progress. They are a great team, very compassionate and helpful.

Irene Sudds

Dr Shannon and Delilah Hampton are two amazing people , I’ve been seeing Delilah for years and I wouldn’t recommend anyone more personable and down to earth . The best professional service, appointment wait time is minimal , I’m never rescheduled and it’s the only place I’d recommend.

Thanks to Dr. Frank Chen, Natalie Walker and the staff for personalized service that truly helped my family in a time of crisis. We're grateful to have found Houston Adult Psychiatry.

Carly Williams

I saw Britney P. NP. This was my first time seeking help for anxiety/depression outside of my primary care provider and I could not have asked for a better experience. She was very knowledgeable and was willing to explain the different treatment options with me with all the pros and cons.

Kelsi S

Since I was prescribed 60 mg a day of Adderall, I sometimes had bouts of anger (surprising I know!). I had a bad day on one appointment and the nurse practitioner fired me. Best day of my life. I weaned myself off that crazy high dose. I recommend staying away.

Caroline Mazza

I've been seeing Natalie at Houston Adult Psychiatry for 7 years now. She listens to my concerns and is able to explain not only how the medicine will work but how they work together.

Kelly Frappier

I have been going here since 2013. I am always treated with respect and care. The front office staff, Jasmin who is one of the office managers, and of course the person I see- Brenda. I totally recommend them.

Leticia Tijerina

After being a patient for over a year Lenore Chen's staff refused to help me anymore. First it started with severe anxiety attacks daily even with the medication list I was prescribed. Abilify , Propanol, Buspar, Lexapro. I have been on these medications for over a year and never asked for me, if anything I asked to be taken off the original 8 I was prescribed. After calling the office seven times in four days the office manager Cassandra told me Lenore Instructed her to inform me to go to therapy and she would not help me with my constant anxiety attack , I should go to the ER for help. After calling urgent care they informed me to call my Dr office back and ask for help. Not once did the office offer to help me. The only thing they could do was schedule me in a week later. I waited a week. The day of my appointment I get a phone call stating I owed two out of pocket office visit fees and my insurance was not charged. I informed them of my insurance and was STILL told to pay out of pocket for no other reason than the billing lady was not in office and they could not verify my insurance . The office cancelled my appointment. I will never go back to this office. Please don't take your children here either for they will not get the help when crisis occur.

Delilah is amazing. She is always patient and there to hear what is going on. She has helped me get back to " normal" after suffering from postpartum depression. Dr. Chen saw me as an inpatient. He is amazing as well. I like that they are both real with you. I highly recommend this practice. The office staff is very nice and accommodating as well.

Scam artists.....how are you going to say you are a "specialist" in ADD yet you can't diagnos it. I go in looking to get treated for a condition that I already been diagnosed with and I'm told that I have one of two options either I go too another place to get diagnosed then come back for treatment meaning I pay for more than one visit or I get my records and yet again pay for another visit. I would have brought my records but I wasn't informed of this until I was towards the end of my appoinment and I was under the impression that they would just diagnos me there too get their own opinion which is fine. And on top of that I was charged almost 6 times as much as I was supposed to be charged and had to call my own insurance company to find out that they charged incorrectly. One mistake is fine but to fall short more than once is just ridiculous and unprofessional especially for a group of people who are educated as well as they say they are. In the end all I received was a waste of my money and time.

I was seen by Delilah, one of the nurse practitioners. She was very unprofessional. She was dismissive in response to my symptoms and past traumatic experiences. Then after only talking to me for 10-15 min asking basic questions, she challenged my diagnosis saying I had Bipolar Disorder instead of depression solely based on the fact that I was taking Abilify. Then she said I may have OCPD just because I used to be pretty perfectionistic (which I previously explained to her was due to growing up in a highly perfectionistic environment). Then she asked if the people in my life would consider me to be moody or dramatic. I said "I guess sometimes I can be? Not usually though." So she concluded I probably have Borderline Personality Disorder. Mind you, this is all in my first appointment with her and she hadn't seen any of my medical records. She was throwing this all out on her assumptions from 10-15 min of asking me basic questions. Then she went on a rant about how diagnoses are overrated and just a way for psychiatrists to communicate; how they don't actually serve any purpose and they're going to do away with them soon. She didn't want to change my medication, insisting I didn't need an antidepressant because I was probably Bipolar since being on a mood stabilizer was working for me. It was only after I told her it WASN'T working that she conceded that maybe I could go on an antidepressant. Then the best part: she asked me which one I wanted. I DON'T KNOW, YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE THE PROFESSIONAL HERE. She then went on another rant about how all antidepressants are basically the same, comparing them to soda flavors. She asked if I wanted to go back on one I had been on before (even though I had already told her that one didn't help). She was careless with her job and just didn't take me seriously. I can't wait until I can find somewhere else to go.

Deliah Hampton is the best I have been seeing her for many years and she is very understanding, will listen to your problem and try to help you resolve them or help get them under control. When I first came to her I was total wreck, she has helped me to at least get my life back a little day by day. I am working on it with her and the good Lord's help I know this can be done, I know the problems I suffer with has no cure, I can at least talk with her every month to help try to deal with them on a regular. Thanks Deliah
