With covid I’ve been doing video appointments at this location, I previously left my old doctor because they didn’t have this option and I’m nervous to go places right now. It’s very easy to use they just send the link to my phone every appointment.

I have only been going there for a couple of months but it is 100x better than my old clinic. Amy is awesome and helpful. I really like my therapist for the first time. (Sue). Cross my fingers that things stay this good. There is a bit of wait time and scheduling crossovers but I'm used to that. It happens at all offices. Losing an extra star for not answering the phone.

This is absolutely the worst company.. their one receptionist has the worst attitude.. she won’t even pick up the phone if I call from my number.. but if I call from a different number she answers with an attitude.. the doctor never calls on time.. or doesn’t call at all for appointments. Amazing that they deal with people for mental health but are so unorganized and so unprofessional.

Ive been coming here since January and ive been seeing Amy and George. They are so amazing, i have not had any issues so far, i schedule all my appointments in advance so i never have to miss an appointment with them. I am so happy i found this place they got me in so fast compared to the 3-6 month waiting list everywhere else. I 100% recommend this place!

They get the job done. Not respectful of your time. I've often been here for a scheduled appointment, sometimes I'm the first patient in the door and will sit in the waiting room for 30 or 40 mins.

The staff here is a joke. There is a severe lack in communication. No return phone calls. Schedule changes all the time. If you want quality care, I do not recommend going here.

The woman I see, Amy, is very nice and easy to work with. Unfortunately this is completely overshadowed by the incompetence of the administration there. It’s impossible to get a call back or have information conveyed in a timely manner. Additionally, they don’t respond to contact attempts from the pharmacist and don’t return voicemails about medication needs or questions. The only viable way to exchange information with anyone at BMP is to physically show up during their limited day time office hours, which obviously is impractical for the majority of clients. I’m a skeptic towards negative reviews for mental health practitioners due to the highly personal and subjective nature of the field, but I fail to see how BMP would be a helpful option for anyone, regardless of their connection with a particular practitioner there.

I've seen quite a few lower reviews so I was quite nervous but in the few months I've been coming here I have had no problems. The wait time has been reasonable, everyone is very friendly and I'm out very quickly with my next appointment scheduled before I leave.

My grandson scheduled my appointment for my covid vaccine here. I recieved my second dose yesterday, the office staff treated me great and Dr Rifai was so kind and helpful. They had a great system going there. I'm so thankful. I also had nothing but a little sore arm after both shots!

I have been going to this practice for almost a year. Despite the pandemic, the practice made it extremely easy to be seen. The staff is friendly and they have been very accommodating. I have been able to cancel and move appointments with out it being a big effort. I have witnessed the high call volume that comes in and they do not brush patients off. The medical staff seems to really want to find the best treatments for the individual. They are easy to talk to and personable at the Easton office.

It can be hard to get through calling them but eventually I do there is a wait time but what do people expect there are a lot of people with problems that need to get seen. I know one reviewer said that they don't take time to get to know the patients and their history but maybe it was just in her case because I haven't had an issue with that at all and I've been going for about a year now and both george and amy talked to me learned my history got to know me etc. I never really liked talking to psychologists because every time I tried all they really wanted to do was ship me off to a psychward and with george I don't have to worry about what I am saying don't have to hold back. George is cool and funny we talk and laugh even over my appointments time line. Amy listens to my symptoms and if I have any side effects from any medications I am on she works with me to either change the dose or we try a different medication that may have lower risks of side effects. Either way I am going to keep going to them because they are friendly they do listen to the patients they do seem to care and they aren't just throwing medications at their patients and saying "get lost" or just shipping them off to psychwards refusing to help them.

i love coming here! everyone listens to me, and makes me feel a lot better about myself and my struggling relationship with my son. they also give good life advice and i really feel like they're listening to me! most places will say whatever to make you feel better, but they keep it so honest i love it! 10/10 recommend.

The receptionist now is rude an has an attitude. She told me my appointment was a half hour before i got there and i would now have to wait or reschedule, told her that was wrong that the lady i spoke with on the phone told me 3:30, an that there was no way i would make an appointment at 3 when i don't ever get out of work until 3/3:15. She said that it would of been her i spoke with an she never said that. I told her again that i would never make an appointment knowing i couldn't make it an she just kept gi gig me attitude and rolling her eyes at me. She tossed my card at me and then threw the paper reciept at me and slammed the glass window . I have also called to make an appointment an no one has ever returned my calls an i am now out of meds an no one calls me back . I this is one of the worst places i have gone to an sad to say but i been to slot of different places due to doctors or psychiatrist leaving an moving practices and this place blue mountain psychiatry is ridiculous. 10/10 high suggest you save your time an sanity and find somewhere else

Receptionists and other staff and psychologists are wonderful but some of the psychiatrists are terrible. One doctor I left four messages for because I had a severe reaction to a new medication and three days later-nothing! I had to be hospitalized. Another time, I called for 2.5 weeks (every couple of days) trying to get a message through to the main psychiatrist when I was out of state. The receptionists tried everything to get him to contact me. Nothing. Try somewhere else.

The receptionist always picks up and works with me re: scheduling. Amy is wonderful and listens to me and my concerns when prescribing medications. They over book and the wait for your appointment can take an hour, sometimes more. I also had a difficult time getting calls back when I had concerns with billing or medication. Overall I would recommend them for Amy, but not for their efficiency.

I called in hoping to get an appointment as fast as possible, the receptionist was so kind and informative. She helped me get an appointment fast and I was able to meet with Dr Rifai. It was a great experience, Dr Rifai listened to all my concerns and helped me with a plan. Also the students he has with him are so kind!

You’re kidding with these 5 star reviews, right? Go look at my review under the Stroudsburg office. I can’t tell you how many times Dr. Rifai fell asleep during our appointments. The Easton office looks like a crack den (learn how to mow your lawn) and the girls up front clearly don’t know how to use a phone or return the 800 voicemails you leave them. This place is all about the money and not about the patient.

First they claimed my insurance didn't accept their claim, then they said they did not accept my insurance, yet they treated me anyway. It has been 2 years since I've been there, without any notice that I owed payment, and now I have a collections fee from Blue Mountain Psychiatry. Confirm again and again they accept your insurance and/or have charged the right claim.

The staff at Blue Mountain Psychiatry is amazing, they are helpful. Quite a busy office but when they are helping you, they make you feel special. Cutting edge technology with TMS and offering the genesight thing to test you for medications. All their doctors are wonderful, warm and compassionate. Some other reviewers left bad reviews clearly about billing, payment and insurance which in this day And age is quite complicated. If you have a psychiatric Illness this is the place to come to, they saved my life

Reading all of the negative comments on here just made my stomach turn. People are honestly so petty and have nothing better to do. Anyways. My name is Emily Thompson. I am in recovery for 8.5 months. I have been seeing Aileen for almost 2 years now. It took me five different counselors before I found her. She is the best of the best and I am so blessed to have her. Don't know where I would be without her or the wonderful staff who have always been super accommodating to all of my needs!

This is honestly the best psychiatrist office in the Lehigh Valley. The environment is very welcoming and the front desk women are very nice and are willing to do whatever they can to help you. I called 3 times to make an appt. first they took my insurance to verify and never called back. I called again and they asked for my info again and then never called back. Called a third time then I was told there was a “wait list”. Wish I was told this at the first phone call instead I wasting my time calling. I too work in healthcare and verify insurances, there should not be 5 days to verify insurance. Also, call patients back! I never write reviews but working in healthcare and with ppl that actually need help, this is not the way to operate.

I absolutely love Elizabeth Nesland, she takes her time and has patience to really help understand what’s going on. She genuinely cares and has compassion to really help. I’ve been going to this office for 6 years now and after the other dr left, and many different medication changes, I was transferred to Elizabeth’s care, it’s the best thing that could have ever happened to me; I really appreciate her expertise! I presently go to the Palmerton office.

Bad experience. Telephone system doesn't work correct. Played phone tag for two days because you can't get these people on the phone. Because of my demanding work schedule I was only available on Fridays. There Palmerston office is closed on Fridays. So that was a huge inconvenience. So they scheduled me for a Friday morning at 930 with another lady to see at the Easton office. The Easton office is 35 min from where I live. Ten minutes before my 930 appointment as I walking into the office they called and cancelled the appointment on me. Keep in mind they charge you a certain amount of you don't give them a minimum amount of time in advance when you cancel your appointment.

This entire practice is incredibly unprofessional. The staff are all VERY unfriendly. They completely make you feel as though you are bothering them. BOTH offices. I had a reaction from a med that this quack prescribed and NEVER returned my calls. He never cared. Said I needed an appointment, yet no call back from the staff saying so. No wonder they only have two and a half stars. I will never step foot in that office as long as I live. The problem with this practice that they can’t seem to understand is ... they need you, you don’t need them. Oh and PS. Take a look at all of the ONE stars. Yet nothing changes. (I had no choice but to rate it one star, and even that’s generous)

We mistakenly went here because there were some positive reviews. Nothing could be further from the truth. I'm writing this one to help you avoid making the same mistake. This practice is proof that anyone can practice medicine and money is the only agenda. The damage done to my wife by Rafai my be irreparable. Seek treatment elsewhere and be well.

As far as billing goes, this place is horrible. A member of our family saw the doctor for over 2 years and the last time he/she went in January of a new year, they said our insurance wasn't accepted and we ended up getting a bill for services. We found out from our insurance company that THEY dropped Blue Mountain Psychiatry because they were turning in bills over a year old. Our insurance ended up paying the majority of the bill but we still got stuck with an amount.

Tara Conroy is absolutely the best receptionist to happen to Blue mountain psychiatry in a very long time. That place has done a 180 since the last receptionist left. She has gone above and beyond the duties of any receptionist I have ever met to ensure that needs are met for patients. Personally she she has done everything in her power to make sure that I am taking care of and my children are taking care of. She is exceptional kind patient amicable and exemplifies what customer service should be and is often not in today's society. I've been going to Blue mountain for several years now and can honestly say that she is one of the best if not the absolute best front end receptionist there. She deals with many personalities and does so with grace which is a hard thing to do in a mental health facility. She deals with insurance companies which are absolutely atrocious and makes sure that patients do not go without appointments and prescriptions and often acts as a liaison between insurance companies and pharmacists which is not in her job description but you will never hear her say those words because for Tara she does not treat this as just a job; she treats the people that she works with and for as family. She should be commended for her talents and her work ethic. Personally I find Tara to be more than just another worker at another job. To me she is become a friend and someone I look forward to seeing when I go to a very difficult place that I often don't want to go to because who really wants to go to a psychiatrist's office. But Tara often makes it an easy and often pleasant experience even when it's sometimes a very stressful day. So thanks Tara for everything that you do that you're probably not recognized for. And for the record you're a great mom too.

A psychiatrist who makes a personal connection with his or her patients because it shows it is not just a job, but desire to heal and help is of utmost importance. Dr. Rafai has the attributes required for the connection needed to help everyone get through difficult times and come out of the darkness of whatever your issues may be and into the light of wellness.
