I highly recommend her! We actually followed her from her last location (30 minutes from my house) to her new location (an hour away) because we didn’t want to lose her! Jamie is an amazing therapist and Brooke is also very kind. Sadly, it is extremely difficult to get in touch with your provider at this practice. I have severe PTSD and it caused me so much unneeded anxiety to not be able to reach my provider. However, they are excellent at contacting you when they want money. Don’t expect more than a 10 minute meeting with your provider, but do expect a hefty bill and poor communication from the entire practice (except for when they want money). It’s very sad when a patient has to advocate for their mental health at an office where the whole purpose is to improve mental health. Pick your provider carefully and make sure you are able to get in touch with them. I would not recommend this practice because of all the anxiety they caused me.

I gave 3 stars because they eventually did get back to me via email. (The other place I called and left a voicemail a week ago, no response, I gave them 2 stars). This place I called 6 times throughout the day, determined to actually talk to someone this time... No answer. I then e-mailed asking basic questions like do they accept my insurance. Got a reply in less than 10 minutes saying they did not. That could have been a 1 minute phone call... If they can reply to emails they can answer a phone. This avoiding of answering the phone by local psychiatrist offices in this area is pretty shocking.

Our family loves Dr. Brechtel and her staff. We live close to two hours away, but it is worth every mile we drive to see her. She has helped my daughter and our family unit immensely. The progress my daughter has made while under her care was quick and solid. Dr. B not only provides medication but training for both the child and parents as the doctor and family become a team to reach positive goals. She is very personable, and my daughter fell in love with her after her first appointment, which was actually a televisit. Being able to form connections via a computer speaks volumes about her character and dedication to children. Her personality is contagious, and we are so thankful that she has had such an immeasurable impact on our daughter!

This has by far been the best psychiatry practice for our family. My children feel extremely comfortable with Dr. Shah, which is huge as they have some pretty complex cases and I feel like he listens to all of our concerns and decides what would be in the best interest of the child. He also doesn’t brush me off when I have an idea, he listens and takes it into account and explains why this would or would not be good for them. I see Dr. Nagaraj myself and I never feel rushed at all, he seems genuinely concerned for his patients health. Many other places I just felt like we spent 3 minutes and they threw pills at us, that has never been the case at PPOG. We love the staff as well. It’s def a big family.

Dr. Brechtel has been good about supporting, encouraging and challenging my daughter to take the steps necessary for healing. Dr. Brechtel tells my daughter that medicine is just a tool to allow the time "for my daughter" to put in the work needed to function in a normal and healthy way. Special thanks goes out to Wilma on Dr. Brechtel's team who can be counted on to reschedule appointments and help keep appointments flowing. Love Healow virtual appointments because it gets around taking my daughter out of school as much, but when appointments get behind, a quick call to Wilma is able to reassure me that the appointment has not been forgotten or missed.

When you walk into the waiting room you're immediately comforted by the stunning decor and cozzy ' living room'. The kind and caring staff provides water and they're always on time. Dr. Nagaraj is an amazing listener and allows me to be part of my treatment process and together we formulate a strategy that works best for my needs. He's incredibly knowledgeable and up to date on medicine and alternatives. I drive over an hour to see him because nobody else is good enough. He's compassionate and easy to relate to. The receptionist will answer, but the doctor is always busy and will not do what is promised. For ex: every time I needed a refill, the doctor would say she sent out the prescription to my pharmacy, but wouldn't sign the prescription so I couldn refill it. Went days without medication every month because she would not return my calls on time and sign the prescriptions even after promising she had during the appointment. This has never been an issue with my pharmacy so I know it was the doctor. I was also prescribed a very old drug that is rarely used anymore but wasnt aware of this (because I'm not the one who is the doctor!) and it interacted badly with the med I was already on (doctor knew I was on this med as well), and I ended up in the hospital twice for heart problems. ER told me those meds should NEVER be taken together. Of course, the doctor could not be reached by phone. What a surprise! Worst experience of my life. This happened last Spring, and I believe my practitioner was Mia Mison.

Great place for someone needing specialized care. For anxiety or depression medication, PPOG is incredibly overpriced. They're using CTP code 99214 for office visits (on top of exam code 90833), making appointments incredibly unaffordable ($400 + for new patients; $300 for existing). In addition, they don't prescribe benzos. Office staff is nice and they are generally on time, but I've never been charged so much for seeing an NP.

I began to see Dr. Nagaraj about a month and a half ago and everything seemed to be going well until yesterday, 23OCT19. As I was checking out and attempting to make a follow up appointment, I was grabbed on the left arm by a nurse practitioner named Elayne (sp) and asked what was on my sweatshirt. She attempted to turn me around to my left. I asked her to not touch me and turned my back. That is hands down one of the most unprofessional acts I have ever witnessed or been party to in 35 years. But wait, there's more.... Dr. Nagaraj was great until I got home last night and read over the notes from our session in which he had spoken to my wife over the phone on speaker with me in the room. It stated that he and my wife had spoken of removing me from access to firearms. This never happened. I do not nor have I ever owned firearms despite his claims to the contrary nor did weapons ever come into any of our discussions. The office manager and the lady who was in the room said that was a precaution as I am formerly military. These two actions have caused me to lose faith in the practice and now I have to find another provider.

NO BENZODIAZEPINES!! After a lifetime of suffering anxiety and panic attacks Dr Brechtel wanted to remove me from benzodiazepines. I have been on them for years. They have a high New Patient appointment fee, but will give you some back only if you come back for the second visit. This should have been a warning sign for me. Not sure if NO BENZODIAZEPINES are are Practice Policy or a Dr Brechtel policy. You might want to ask about it when call to make an appointment.

Over the years, I visited numerous doctors, counselors, etc., most of whom didn’t seem to fully listen to my concerns and struggles and typically ended up putting me on med after med. This is an excellent practice! I’ve been twice to see Dr Benjamin Akosa and he is the best psychiatrist I’ve ever worked with. The entire staff is friendly and helpful. The practice itself is aesthetically pleasing and while the waiting room is always full you do not have a long time before being seen. Unlike other practices you are not a number. As much time as needed is spent with each patient carefully answering questions and providing the best treatment options. I’ve felt valued and well treated with every person I’ve met on each visit. Dr. Akosa is wonderful and I found him after 5 different people recommended him. My mother came on the last visit and enjoyed meeting him so much she wanted to make an appointment for herself even though she has no psychiatric needs! Please consider this practice if you need help with mental health. They go above and beyond to put the patient first!!

Ok! So, I see where people write negative comments and I get that, seeking help for difficulties is not always fun and is definitely not easy. My review is for my practitioner, Veronica Ndegwa-Gibbons. If I could give her 10 stars, I would. I believe she is the best psychiatric professional I have ever seen. Although she is a nurse practitioner and manages medication, she also listens carefully to me and offers very thoughtful coping suggestions that complement my medication. She is very kind and knowledgeable, and I always feel she sincerely wants to help me improve my quality of life. I have had very some serious challenges in my life lately, and things would have much worse had I not had such a caring and wonderful practitioner to help me through it. I highly recommend Veronica and this practice.

Dr. Brechtal has been such a helpful resource for us for several years now. She is very knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and thinks outside the box. She is a skilled medication manager. Her knowledge base and experience really shows when tackling different approaches to medication therapy. The practice in general is wonderful. Always friendly (before Covid) to us and the other patients checking in and checking out. We primarily use the patient portal to communicate, and have found it to be easy to use, and we get prompt responses. If you are seeking a mental health provider, I guarantee you won't find this quality anywhere else.

Nobody answers the phone ever! They call to remind you of your appointment but leave threatening voicemails if you don’t return the call. I have received multiple bills with three different amounts. Chastity never returns my calls ever. I have talked to two different people in billing and they are rude and speak ebonics. The only good thing about this practice is that Dr. Shah connects with my son. What can I do, should I email to get a response? I refuse to pay this bill until management returns my calls. I would like to speak to someone that has knowledge in billing.

If you need help immediately for your mental health do not try to book an appointment here. I’ve been to therapy years back and I understand that it takes time to get in as a new patient but I can’t even set a date to get enrolled in. I have called several times and so has my spouse which has led us to playing phone tag with this place. Absolutely ridiculous that I can’t get anyone on the phone. I also understand we are in a pandemic but if your so swamped stop taking calls and inform new people so we can look elsewhere. It’s not hard. I’ve called other places who told me that they can’t take anymore people due to shortages so why can’t you do that?? I can see by old reviews that this may have always been a problem but who knows. Anyway if you are a person who needs mental help immediately please go somewhere else.

Front office is incompetent. Told i have to be cash only despite having 3 policies.1 i confirmed they do accept. But.clearly.they want cash. 325.1st.visit.then any other is 200. So as psych is constantly reevaluating.so id be paying a ton. Cash cow. Then the front office had me believe she would see PA-NP in january and then called again to confirm the date they told me id be put on a waitlist and cant see anyone.

My daughter has been seeing Dr Brad since May of this year. He is caring and very attentive to his patients. He never makes us feel that we are a bother to him. Every time I have called with questions or concerns I always receive a return call. He makes us feel that he is doing everything he can to help our child and I am very comfortable knowing that he is her caregiver. He's honestly just a precious man and I would recommend him to anyone who needs help. Everyone in this office has been absolutely wonderful. I had only went to schedule an appointment. First of all, the place looks impeccable similar to a 4 star Hilton Hotel. The staff are cordial, understanding, and quick to respond and adapt to the situation at hand. When I started sobbing in the waiting room, one of the staff quickly pulled me aside so as not to trigger any of the other patients there and immediately helped me calm down. Then they helped me with whatever you need. They are very kind and encouraging. I think I will be able to make it through these trials and tribulations. tl;dr : Great decor, responsive and adaptive and helpful staff. Definitely would recommend and I have not even received treatment yet.

We followed Dr. Brechtel from NEGA. We love Dr. Brechtel. At first the staff was not the best, uncaring, treated us like we were not important. We actually were seeking another doctor, even though we like Dr. Brechtel. We had Dr. Bechtel for one and a half visits. At the first visit, she was objective. 2 Months later, we had a follow up, but she was very dismissive and at some point she said: "let me stop you right there, my follow up appointments are only 25 minutes. I'm not a therapist!" At the beginning of the session, she complimented my child and praised the medication for the joy my child was radiating. As soon as I told her we didn't take the medicine, she became agitated and began to cut me off most of the time. She was reluctant to hear the progress my child was making without the medication she prescribed. Before Dr. Bechtel, we had done several months of therapy and weeks of medication without any sign of success, except for ongoing regress. Out of despair, I went to God in faith with prayers (Matthew 21:22). As soon as I mentioned prayers, Doctor Brechtel insisted prayers don't always work. Of course even the Bible says faith without works is dead (James 2:17, 24). Praise Jah! Our faith and our works are prevailing in form of exercise, supplements- omega-3 EPA 800, Vitamin D, shared family activities, healthy diet, ongoing motivational lessons and faith based activities as recommended by another professional in the field - Dr. Stephen Ilardi. Unfortunately, she never listened this far as she remained dismissive. She was close to calling me ignorant and opposed to medicine. I reminded her my husband is a medical doctor and I'm an academic doctor. These are research-based options. We are not uneducated or opposed to medicine. Ironically, medicine doesn't always work; otherwise doctors will live forever. She also drew false conclusions about my parenting in front of my child... saying I don't listen to my child and that I need to give more choices, etc. How can you fairly draw such conclusion in 1.5 sessions. She was also irritated that I didn't read the book she recommended - The Awakened Family. The negative reviews of the book she suggested blamed the parents without considering other environmental influences such as classroom, associations, community, culture, social media, and now the pandemic. This was my experience with Dr. Bechtel as I watched her blame me without full insight on our overall lives. Instead, I chose to read read the book Emotional Intelligence 2.0. If she had only 25 minutes to tell me why my child should be on medication without investing the time to hear the progress made from other successful interventions that her colleagues in field are recommending, my question becomes: What was Dr. Bechtel's intention during the session? My child's progress or prescription supply? Your guess is as good as mine. Not once, did she ask me the areas I was seeing progress. At least to investigate the efficacy of the processes that produced measurable results, knowing that others could benefit from it if proven. I feel she could have listened and documented these Successes if she was being objective. What a missed opportunity to Listen and understand what worked for us so far, but she lost all interest because our progress is to the glory of God, not prescription. Fine with me and my God, Jehovah.
