I had to wait 9 months in order to get an appointment here, and my hour long consultation session was over in 20 minutes. I NEED help, and this place only made me feel worse. The first 15 minutes with the doctor was asking random questions, I was then told I have symptoms of PTSD (WHICH I WROTE ON THE FORM YOU HAVE TO SUBMIT). She then tore off a piece of paper and wrote a name of a medication on it and said to go to my doctor to get a prescription, even after I said I wasn’t looking to get stuck on meds. I was hoping for psychotherapy or just someone to listen. No second appointment, no one to talk to, I’m suffering and I felt invisible walking out of there. Honestly I felt that wasn’t a shred of compassion, she clearly couldn’t care less. Please PLEASE don’t waste your time waiting to go here, for me it was my something I had hoped would start a path to getting better and now I feel nothing. Go somewhere where they actually care about you.

My teen, who is struggling with depression, anxiety and suicidal feelings, was referred to Doctor Waheed. I was confident that a specialist (psychiatrist) would be the best way to get proper treatment. I was very wrong. He said this was only a consultation and basically told me nothing except go back to your family doctor and possibly get a prescription. BUT my family doctor referred me here for a reason! I wanted a specialist who could diagnose and treat my teen - and our family doctor is the one who recommended a specialist, so she obviously felt he needed someone with expertise in the area of mental health. This was a waste of time and money which I am sure is funded by the provincial health care plan as we did not have to pay. This was a huge waste of time. We waited approx. 6 weeks for this appointment, and there has been little progress for my son He is still struggling months later. The biggest disappointment was for my son who willingly went so he could get help and support but instead felt insignificant, unimportant and like nobody wants to help. This health care system is a mess. There is a serious lack of resources and medical treatment. Dr Waheed works out of the Alberta children’s hospital and this Sky psychiatry is just a way to make more money with nothing to offer.
