No one can answer my questions when I call and when they transfer me to someone who supposedly does, they don’t answer the phone or return voicemails. It’s very unprofessional and frustrating. We pay a lot each year to be part of the association, the least you can do is return a phone call. I feel very disrespected and quite fed up.

What next ? NHPC send template to you to go and beg in the street? Simply sits and eats your hard earned money. All Politics.

I was a member of this association for 15 years. I was in the hospital for 2 years on and off for mental illness stemming from PTSD due to a spousal rape. After I was assaulted my abuser used the Court system and Family Law system by submitting false claims that I was a danger to him and my step daughter in a bid to disallow his former spouse the autonomy to decide I could still be involved with her biological daughter. During that time I needed to renew my membership as a student because I had to go back to school to do my 2200 hour certificate for massage. I went through a review process explaining in depth my situation, injuries, illness and subsequent Family Law issue turned Criminal offense as I didn't have the money to pay for a good defense lawyer to the Family Law breach of calling my step daughter on her birthday. I was not only refused membership (the Criminal Offense has been stricken from my record as it was contravening a family law ordinance with one of the biological parents supporting my access to my step daughter) but as I explained my mental health situation after the rape; I was up against administration in this organization who wanted to help me less and less due to a history of PTSD. I have since joined the RMTA which costs 1/2 of the NHPC for both Association membership and a higher coverage insurance plan without a problem. The other association was made aware that I had previously and erroneously had a Criminal record although it has been struck now and was told that I have a serious mental illness that makes me only able to work part time. I am thoroughly disgusted by the treatment I received after 15 years with this organization.
