You have the reviews of real people who are buying the products and services of Mental Health Clinic - Alberta Health Services (Psychiatrist) in the area close to Alberta (Canada).
Currently this firm has a score of 2.4 stars over 5 and the rating has been based on 31 reviews.
You may have noticed that its rating is quite insufficient, and it is founded on a high number of feddbacks, so we can be pretty sure that the rating is very accurate. If there are many people who bothered to give their opinion when they are satisfied with the service, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to give scores when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Psychiatrist is classified in the category of Medical clinic.
Two of the worst psychiatrist s here are Dr. Patel and Dr. sapera. Straight up. There are some really bad docs out there. They will purposely mess with you. Both are narcissistic and completely full of themselves.
Did an intake appointment over the phone with Todd or Tom(?). Psychologist at the mental health clinic. He was double booked and called me 20 min early to talk. I thought that was nice until he reminded me 3 or 4 times that his shift was over. Proceeded to attempt a half-assed diagnosis over a 45 min phone call, that I have mood disorders. I wish doctors in this province would take mental illness seriously. He was entirely condescending and when I called him out on it, he told me I was being defensive because of my heightened anxiety. I have been have very negative effects from my current meds and he gave me no other advice other than to see another doctor. I am so fed up with this province's unwillingness to help. He's probably paid under the healthcare system to diagnose in a 35 min period amd relay to more drs. that will make money.
Absolute rubbish. Immoral, illicit and unprofessional. You deserve to receive help if you are struggling with mental health not to be repeatedly abused and re-traumatized, this clinic seems to specialize in gaslighting and abuse. Stay away from this clinic at all costs especially from a particular individual whose initials are P.C. If you are do decide to subject yourself to the mistreatment you are all but guaranteed to experience here prepare yourself to be persistently mistreated and to have dangerous covert (and overt) narcissists in your life. Do not make the same mistake I did, you deserve better, you deserve to live, you deserve happiness. You have been warned.
Intake staff are abusive and rude. They will not help you at all. They need to hire people who are qualified and not condescending.
Every staff member at 108th st do try their best to help the patients
I’ve used the public mental health care system for most of my adult life, and this building has been where I’ve received most of my individual therapy. Everyone I’ve personally dealt with has been kind, compassionate, and working to the best of their abilities. I always leave my appointments feeling like personal progress has been made, even if that progress is sometimes challenging and/or painful. I give my wholehearted recommendation to everyone who keeps the building running.
When you are on a fixed income and this is the only place you can access, it is disheartening. In 8 months I was bounced around. One therapist shared my file with a 3rd party not even related medically with me and said I was drug seeking because I told him I wasn't able to get my regular meds filld, because my doctor was unavailable and I was upset by that. The other was excellent, but she left after 2 months so I was placed with another, who started the session with ..I need to know if I can close your file if you are not interested, because we are so short staffed. Now as a person who has suffered horrible trauma, having to start the stories again over and over was more traumatizing than nesassary.
I will never reach out to them again. They are so condescending when they talk to you. Ive dealt with them several times and i always feel worse afterwards. They should maybe go back to school and get a little more educated. Very unprofessional "psychologists"
I've seen one psychiatrist and two therapists here. Absolutely disgusting behavior on all of their parts. I have been verbally abused, and a therapist denied me care because he "didn't want to help me" (and yes, he said this to my face). The managers and referral staff are IMPOSSIBLE to get ahold of as well and you'll wait YEARS for a referral to someone else, who ends up being a social worker who doesn't even speak english.
I've had similar experiences to other reviewers mentioning verbal abuse from the staff here. I actually stopped by only to ask for directions and got surrounded by various people trying to convince me I was psychotic or something. One lady quietly said sorry once I had finally used their guest phone to confirm my destination. No clue why Alberta has such awful people working in mental health.
Takes a little while to get appointments booked, but every person I’ve talked to has been compassionate and knowledgeable. The group programs they have available are great.
Absoultley disgusting human beings , my boy friend had an allergic reaction to a fruit he was unaware of. I panicked when his throat swelled up i called an ambulance, he spent the next two days in the hospital. They then sent a bill that we were unaware of, were on fixed income and were charged for a $600 fee for something that shouldnt have been so much. He lives here and got charged the wrong amount. Not impressed
I paid for the purchase and could not answer the call. I called back because I was left a strange message about enrollment in the group (without a name and dates). And on the front desk they said that they could not help and I have to wait again when they call me. I never went there and did not intend to. Very very unpleasant person spoke on the phone.
I went to this clinic for about 3 months and then they told me they were going to transfer me to another clinic and I have not heard from them for four months I have tried to get in contact with them but I can never seem to get through. I saw a psychiatrist they're as well as another doctor who didn't seem to talk to each other about the medications they were giving me or look at the side effects because they all contradicted each other and my other pills
Have had to use their service for the last several years due to financial burdens and a need for care. I was likely better off with my own devices as it only lead me to check myself into an inpatient hospital program where I actually got diagnosed correctly and medicated properly. But now when I need refills on the meds they prescribed I often find it a cat and mouse game. Where I am left scrambling to pick up the pieces and try to make appointments that they book months in advance at times due to volume. I blame our government and the lack of patient flow here or empathy from receptionists to help.
after dealing with other mental health clinics i beleive this is a good place ..... you know what they are overworkd here and when i came to this place it had fantastic doctors and really good nursing staff too .... they did alot of things for me that NOW ( im seeing a different clinic) trying to get a simple form to send in to the govmt at the place im at now is like pulling teeth.... the spruce grove clinic is sooo slow and the dont return your calls and they screw up ur injection date all the time they dont fill out forms to help you.... honestly ppl the 108th st. clinic is awesome.. they try to help you cause they know you got it bad already and they help when no 1 else would spent the time or energy to help you... Yes they are overbooked and ur bus transfer might expire but like they actually try to do everything possible to help get your life to a better state of mental wellbeing
Thank god for this place. Had a psychologist who wasn't helping me move forward (after having been through many different ones elsewhere, that charge $180/hour), requested a change, got a well educated therapist who has been an absolute godsend! Thank you! Remember, this place is free and you get what you ask for. Just need to ask for it. Does take a couple of months to get assigned tho.
I was in a study for PTSD for Childhood Sexual Abuse survivors and I don't get calls back for my appointments. I'm very disappointed.
I find the people there to be nice, except a certain receptionist who is always grumpy to me. But I don't seem to be getting the help I need, I had one councillor that was starting to get somewhere, but that person moved to another position. I suffer from severe anxiety, pretty much every type, and people like Dr. Saparah get mad when I can only do phone appointments, well I don't go out in the world at the best of times, it took great effort to go to the ones that I did. I also sure as hell am not taking public transit during a pandemic, especially when I have a lot of health issues. There was a doctor that replaced Saparah, who really messed EVERYTHING up for me, based on a 5 minute appointment of getting to know me, and change my recent meds, that were causing all sorts of issues. Although, now I wonder if it wasn't the meds, and was in fact Covid. Who knows, but I have had a ton of trauma in my life, a lot is blocked, but from 2016 till now it is awful, and I tend to focus on it, cannot let it go. Well of course I remember something that is constantly on my mind, even if I do not remember anything much from 4 minutes ago. She didn't know me, and likely told the whole health system I was faking, and I remember this, because she traumatized me more, not help at all. And screw the premier, so what if I look ok, doesn't mean that people with illnesses have to look pathetic or something. Geez. Rant over
What a joke. My therapist told me to call them to get a referral for a psychiatrist for antidepressants. The woman at ahs said that usually I can go to my family doctor for that. I told her my appointment isn’t for awhile and that I have been having suicidal thought and I’m postpartum and have a family history of mental illness. Then she asked me if I have an intent to kill myself or if I’ve thought of how and I said yes and she said how would you and I told her then she asked what’s stopping me and I told her what’s stopping me. Then she suggested breathing apps and I asked so you won’t refer me to a psychiatrist and she said no but to call back if those thoughts get worse. What the hell kind of service is this. Garbage. Too bad mental health isn’t a priority to this province.
Alberta health care sucks I tried to pay outta pocket to get proper treatment done quicker but they won't even allow that said I have to wait my turn thru the system that's weak .. God bless the U.S..A where you can buy medical treatment
