Recently my mother passed away. She owned a wedding dress store and had over 60 clients who had been ether given credit or who had still to pay. After word spread to her clients about her death many attempted to take advantage of this but not paying or trying to convince me (the new owner of the dress shop) that they had already paid, to spite the fact that there was absolutely no record of the payment. On the other hand some of my mother’s clients who had heard that she passed away and had ordered dresses but not paid for them decided not to go through with the order, the problem here was they had agreed to buy the dresses and my mother had already ordered the material – and this material is unique and expensive. I was taking over my mother’s business and finding it very hard as my cash flow was severally interrupted by the people who didn’t want to pay the bills they owed and by people backing out of agreements that they made. My mother had built this dress shop up from nothing and it was a very successful business that was about to die. I found out about Dixon Commercial Investigators through a business program that I am in for women in business they suggested I call Dixon and see if there was anything they could do. In short I would not be in business today if it were not for the services of these guys.

I am the manager for hotel in Kingston and we often have clients who stay with us leaving us credit cards with small or no available balances on them when these people check out and we attempt to charge their card gets declined. Although we have their driver’s license or some form of government issued identification it can still be a very expensive process to track them down and then hopefully get money out of them. Unfortunately most of the time these people stay for only one night and the costs of tracking them down and collecting from them I’ll greater than the one night stay at our hotel. Since we’ve been in operations 1993 we have allowed these people to get away with this. It was not until last year when a Gwen from Dixon commercial investigators found us and explained to us all options. We were informed about the skip tracing program this is where using little bit of information Dixon commercial investigators would track down the people who skipped out on their bill. We then had the option to call them ourselves without having to submit the account to them for collection this of course saved us time and money to mention nothing about the fact that we did not have the resources to track these people down. Once we track these people down if they were still unwilling to pay we now submit our files to Dixon for collections with rates as low as 10% it is now worth it to track down these one night stairs who skip out on that bill. I would like to let all hotel managers bed and breakfast managers know the value that they can get out have a membership with Dixon commercial investigators

In our field we don’t have time to deal with our clients who don’t pay, at the end of the month we submit our database to the website and we don’t have to worry about it. Its nice getting a cheque monthly from Dixon without lifting a finger!!

Ill simply say that Dixon took our money as a top tier client. We paid 1,236.60$. They took our money in 15 seconds once I sent them the signed contract back with the credit card number. After 6 weeks, nothing had moved. I called their office and they transferred me to a collection agent who was sleeping on the phone. They were collecting on on huge sums for us. At the seventh week, the Police showed at our door, investigating us a victim, our credit card Info and our ID had been stolen from Dixon. They were checking on us if we were safe. The police then told us they will formally charging Dixon employee or whoever, with credit card fraud, ID theft, and who knows how much money they collected on our behalf. In addition to this clear breach of client's privilege, Dixon refuse to pay us back the 12,366.00$ which was clearly specified on their offered contract from the start. Their "Paid member Portal" is contaminated with Trojans, and even if i notified them in writing, they did nothing to protect our ID. I'd say Dixon is one of the company that promise the most, take your money, and deliver no positive results at all. In fact, they cause a lot more arm than good. This company is not professional and is harassing us. Their sales person called to talk to our accounts receivable department. I told them to remove our number from their call list and they refused. I told them that "no means no" and they still refused to stop calling in an effort to make sales and gain new companies as their customers for collection services that we do not want or need. I explained to them that they do not have our consent to keep calling us and that "no means no" but they refused and insisted that they will keep calling unless we meet there self declared requirements. According to this company "no" means they will keep going knowing that they are creating a problem and harassing people in the process. Very unprofessional. Stay away from the services that this company offers. This company is a problem.

Eric had been calling me to pay a dentist bill that I long ago forgot about. Unfortunately this came at a terrible time for me and my family as both my Husband and I were laid off. Our oldest daughter was going in to collage to boot. We had more bills coming in then we could count and no income. These guys were the only collection agency to be patient and understanding. Although Eric was firm with me and explained the consequences of not paying he also gave me the time I needed to get back on my feet.

Read the reviews all you want, but honestly what collection agency would have good reviews? They collect debts on people who don’t pay their bills. Dixon has been a great asset to my company they do what they do best (collect) and leave me to run my business.

This review gets 3 stars for the performance given by "Samantha" at Dixon Investigators After watching the movie Buffaloed, I wondered what type of personality would excel as a debt collections agent. After being on the receiving end with "Samantha", who did an excellent job at her attempt to scare tactic me into paying a tiny sum of less than a pair of shoes, I think one would need to have sociopathic tendencies to be a successful debt collections agent. Or at least, it seemed to be the case in "Samantha". Loud, aggressive off the bat, fast talking, ready for all questions... it was rather entertaining. After weeks of her phoning me and leaving voice messages and after my return calls and voice messages and her subsequent claim that I had been phoning the wrong number, she finally got to yell at me today and she finally got to NOT LISTEN to my words as I summarized my reasons for why this tiny charge would not be collected. She was great at twisting my words and telling me that on this recorded line, I am committing fraud. When she realized she would not be collecting the 30% off nothing, she quickly summarized a rant she probably yelled out thousands of times before and hung up. Prior to having this "nonversation" with "Samantha, I spoke with the owner of a major national debt collections agency, so that I could educate myself on the matter. I didn't have to return "Samantha's" calls. I was just annoyed with her voicemails and needed them to stop. I wonder if she enjoyed my calm demeanour or the part where I chuckled and said "I understand you must have a very difficult job".

The salesperson told me that Dixon would collect my bad debt for 10%. This sounded very reasonable so I signed up. Turns out 10% is just phase one which is basically a letter. Anything else is 40% plus $85 per letter at phase 3. My gripe is that I was sold under false pretenses. I sent them all my overdue debt which I would not have done had I known it would cost me 40%. I would only send them the accounts that you really struggle with and be sure to find out about extra costs and charges.

Tried them out for a few judgements my lawyer couldn't help me with and now send newly delinquent accounts to Dixon instead as it is cheaper. I was surprised that they collected so much without going to court.

Lawyers were costing me quite a bit in small claims, i was stuck between wanting to get paid and being forced to pay out a large sum just to get what was mine. Dixon has lower costs and they get most of it before it gets to that point now anyways.

Something is very fishy with this company. They were happy to take our money promptly but after they took the payment - silent. Not sure if I will ever see my money again. To be honest, I believe all the 5 star reviews here are fake, it just doesn't make sense.
