Definitely the worst security company to work for.
Clients: Stay away, hire any other security company
Potential Employees: Go to Capital Security (similar company, treats you better, same wages)
I worked for UCB1 for about 4 months. Shifts are straightforward but there is little to no communication regarding the details of the shift (number of guards, roles, timing changes).
Another big issue is the pay. The company does not have an HR department and thus does not keep track of pay properly and does not issue pay-stubs on a regular basis. Static guards are to fill out time cards and leave them at the site for mobile patrol to pick up. I've had issues with pay numerous times with atleast $500 in unpaid wages. I am still owed $100 and the owner refuses to pay this. He also blames the static guards for not making sure that the time cards are picked up even though it is their own responsibility to make sure.
When I went to the office to pick up my final pay-cheque, I was going over my shifts and times scheduled. I had worked a 16 hour shift at one of the sites and received a 30 min break. I was told the break was supposed to be 1 hour even though I wasn't allowed to go for 1 hour. He then tried to pay me for 14 hours because he thought I worked for 15 hours for that shift. He acknowledged the mistake and then reversed the paid hours to 15. However, when my final pay stub was received via email, he had only paid me for 14.
They take advantage of the people who don't know any better and/or don't know the ESA Regulations (violates a bunch of them). Stay away from this company at all costs.
