I havent attended and not sure that I will. I was interested in their paralegal program and requested info. I was called within 5 minutes of submitting my name and such. The person who called sounded like a robot reading from a script and sounded like they could barely read themselves. Not a good look. After reading through the reviews, it gave me flashbacks to when I attended University of Phoenix online. Useless customer service, hardly any transparency and poor curriculum.
I like the idea of online learning, one great thing about it is you are supposed to be able to learn at your own pace. Not with these jokers after a while they want you to pay more to stay in their course, read the fine print better yet find another online school. Two stars because it is a nice layout but with the time limit on courses I can go no higher.
Horrible, all they want is MONEY ! I tried to get “official transcripts” sent to me by mail and they refused because I did not get through it, but only because even if your done your not gonna receive your actual diploma until to pay them off even if you have finished the classes. So if you don’t pay YOUR DUES YOU CAN NOT RECEIVE YOUR TRANSCRIPTS BY ANY MEANS. I would not recommend this school.
Penn Foster is a wonderful school. I am currently enrolled in the Graphic Design Associates programs and the curriculum is awesome. A great education at an affordable price. Whenever you have a problem or hit a roadblock in a lesson, you can contact the school and receive assistance promptly. I highly recommend this school, their courses are accessible anytime, day or night so even people with super tight schedules can find the time to study.
This school honestly is helping me out a lot i can do my work whenever i please it can be hard to stay motivated since it is self paced but for what this school offers it is a great deal i mean you don't have to worry about student loans years down the road you get your degree and that's it no 3rd party loan company to worry about i would recommend Penn foster to anyone i know
I have been in my program for almost two months now. It is indeed self paced. I have a year to complete it. It seems like they really want you to succeed. Prompts and instructions are super straight forward, exams are multiple choice with the option for retake. I would give it five stars except it is extremely hands off. I am a good self learner so this is great for me. However, if you aren't I do not recommend it as you will get hardly any virtual real time teaching from your instructors most of it is pre-recorded and completely on your own.
I give Penn Foster 2 stars for lack of good customer service when class material is not working due to technical difficulties the student help services lack motivation to get problem fixed and really had no urgency in getting the file to open in order to finish the class to graduate. It's almost as though they treat you as second-class citizens and I did not find the help and would not recommend this particular online school and in the future I would just go to community college or university most of them provide online classes today.
If I could give them zero stars I would. After paying $1,300 a semester I was told I had to purchase additional materials to complete the course. If I didn’t complete that specific assignment I would fail the entire course. I should not have to purchase ADDITIONAL materials to complete the assignments and if I needed to, that should have been something discussed upfront but nobody mentioned anything.
I took classes at Penn Foster and it went well. I took up HVAC technician. I received my diploma as an certified HVAC tech. I was also supposed to receive a study guide and manual to prepare for the EPA 608 but I never did. I called them as soon as I received my hvac diploma and let them know I did not receive the study guide, they informed me that they would send it out but I never received it. I ended up paying for one through the esco group!????????♀️ Wasn't a big deal and wasn't that expensive BUT I was supposed to receive it with my certification FOR FREE as a part of my graduation packet and even after I called and let them know I didn't receive it, they still failed to send me one! I've decided to go back to school to complete my associates in Business Management but I will be taking it online from a different school this time. A more well known school. I'm afraid my hard work in Business Management will not be noticed through Penn Foster when trying to use my degree to be hired for position with businesses. I've read alot of bad reviews about that.
Goodluck if your a veteran! They will screw you out of your classes if you back out. No va assistance fyi
Asked for a refund after completing over 50% which it states if you go over they would refund you got a response saying no refund but was so willing to cancel. Don’t go here they don’t answer you and the instructors don’t know what they’re doing at all. Made a huge mistake in taking part In this and the customer service act as if I’m crazy about everything Andrea is horrible as well she’s the one who told me I wouldn’t get anything back, and they make it impossible to get your labs together . They don’t help with job searches and it’s they don’t even give you an access code for your books STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCHOOL
I love it. Would defiantly recommended you try them out. Very affordable as well which makes it a thousand times better.
My daughter took the courses. The Literature course should have a warning or be changed. Has several stories, poems that deal with suicide. Not appropriate material for teenagers or young adults or anyone with mental health issues. Also Biology teaches evolution however, history covers the Bible. For anyone who doesn’t believe in Evolution there is not an option not to cover Evolution.
Must be self sufficient to do this program. I'm doing great, and when i have a question customer service helps. If you're not truly capable of being independent and having a teacher for every little thing then don't do it.
Penn Foster College is a God send to any serious student who truly wants a high quality education. If someone has a bad experience with this school, they only need to stare in the mirror to truly understand who is at fault. Its simple..... You research the school and truly understand what SELF PACED education is, and you accept that at least 99% of your learning will come from you logging in, reading the material, taking down solid notes, reviewing on your own, digesting the course content according to your learning style and pace, and proceeding to taking the required exams, completing all assignments/discussion boards, and moving on to the next course. This can pose a challenge to a person who is lazy and unmotivated. If your a procrastinator, you will never complete the course work to even see if the program is worth it for you. you'll never get the program done, and thus, never graduate. That is your fault. You have to make your tuition payments, which are ridiculously affordable and totally manageable on any budget. Yes, if you don't make your payments, your transcripts and school records will be on hold because, like all other schools, tuition fees have to be paid regardless if you graduate or not. Customer service is important, but you can't expect the school to be perfect. Wait time? Yes, consider that Penn Foster is an international school that has a ton of students taking courses around the world; sometimes you just have to wait for a staff member to assist you. I graduated from a regionally accredited Community College, and let me tell you, Penn Foster is on the same level. I also attend a private 4 year University on campus, and it is also regionally accredited. Penn Foster is high quality, and it makes me wonder why they are not regionally accredited. Online you have to be a self starting, motivated trail blazer. Meaning, you have to have a plan of attack in regards to how your going to complete the course, and ultimately your certificate or degree. Where I come from, we call that being a BEAST. An academic creature who is hungry for knowledge, and someone who is unrelenting in the pursuit for a better life. I've read some of the bad reviews, and its typical that someone will complain about Penn Fosters accreditation. Regional accreditation is great, and is what most brick and mortar colleges receive. But, national accreditation is really the same thing in my opinion. Regardless, if the school is recognized by the US Dept. of Education, and the courses are recommended by ACE, the credential is legit. Now, if you earn a certificate in Dental Hygiene, anything in the medical field, Vet Tech, or any other specialized field, YOU MUST expect that your individual state will have their own licensing/certification requirements. This will determine if your chosen Penn Foster program will benefit you locally or internationally. Do your research, your homework, so that you are best able to make a decision that will help you in the future. I'm going to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. I come to Penn Foster already having completed 3 college degrees, and I have about 15 years of work experience, along with other certifications etc. Penn Foster is going to set me up for my dream of becoming an Entrepreneur, and eventually I will have and run my own set of businesses. That will come directly from my Penn Foster education. I also plan to earn an MBA and law degree one day, and I am confident that the academic rigor in my Penn Foster program will further prepare me for that journey. Penn Foster even sends motivating emails that encourage their students to work hard and fulfill their dreams. Nothing to complain about, and that is because I am a proud Penn Foster student who plans to graduate with my degree in June 2019. I will attend the commencement ceremony as well. Thank you Penn Foster.
I recieved my diploma through them and now I'm about to graduate college in IT and it has been one of the best decisions I've made. They offered support and now my fiancee is going and they call every month to check in.
Very kind staff. I had to cancel my program and the staff was extremely nice to me about it and helped me cancel it.
I noticed alot of people giving Penn Foster a bad rating because they didn't pay. People this is a business! I wouldn't give you nothing either, pay them! My experience with them was great. I paid my bill and now I am going to take my Human Resources course with them. They are affordable and have good teachers that will help you. I recommend them.
I graduated from the Dental Assisting program and my experience at Penn Foster was exceptional and I recently decided to change my career path to Medical Assisting, so I am currently a returning student at Penn Foster. I would definitely recommend this school to others!!
I signed up for the Pharmacy technician program. When I called to ask what I needed I was told my Diploma/GED, CPR and drug test for clinicals. I was 91 percent done with my program with a 96 average. I started to look at the list of things I needed to do externship thinking it was 3 things I was told when I signed up. They require a physical that has to be done by your pcp, titer or immunizations that you pay for out of pocket. Mine were $450 after everything. CPR which I did it was $100.00. They also require you have health insurance for clinicals and liability insurance as well. Again when I signed up I was told 3 things. At the end of the course they require 18 videos to be uploaded of tasks that you are to memorize with a huge box of supplies none of which were labeled. Some videos took upto an hour. I had a hard time trimming the videos and was told to make a you tube account that they could access to grade my videos. Anyone else out there that isn't tech savvy? I absolutely do not recommend this school as they aren't honest about things you will need for the externship and also the videos they ask you to do are almost impossible when you've not had any externship experience.
If I could give them 0 stars I would Parents and students be aware of this scam. My daughter signed up for the veterinary program. Once she opened the program online, she did not like it. It is not for everybody Cancelling the program after just one month is not an option. Stop paying is the only other option. After the first month of not paying, they will not grant you access, but they will keep billing you. My daughter went abroad and when she come back, she finds herself in collections (for $1,800.00) with Penn Foster College because she did not read the fine print. They sent no letters, no emails, no nothing. Calling them for customer service is frustrating. Extended wait times and no solutions or alternatives offered.
Totally a scam I would never trust this college!
I would give 5 stars however I'm giving this school 1 star because I played the waiting game too long for evaluation of my transcripts. I only got credit for 4 classes. Then when I ask for my money back they tell me I'm not eligible for a refund.
I received my High school diploma with no issues at all.
so glad I read these reviews I will not be going to penn foster
I honestly had no problems with this school. They were always nice when I called. Well, I was going to switch to a community college, so I needed them to send my transcripts to the other school. They said that would be no problem, I would have to pay nothing for them sending the transcripts . They never sent them and are calling me a lot saying to pay the full amount. I think not, as soon as you try to transfer schools they go from nice to money hungry. I made sure to I didn't have to pay anything else and they said no then, that tone sure changed.
I am grateful for Penn Foster’s High school diploma program. I have been accepted to Ashford university and University of Phoenix. As far as the negative comments on here.. I don’t get it. You have to set goals and stay committed. I have never had a payment issue no problems whatsoever. With the very affordable payment plans, I made sure I had the funds and never skipped a beat. I’m a single mother who works two jobs. No excuses to the negative comments. All I can say is thank you Penn Foster.
I received my high school diploma from Penn Foster High School 5 years ago. Now I'm currently attending Penn Foster College for Early Childhood Education while being a full-time mom & wife.
Horrible school!!! I signed up thinking this online school would help me in vet tech. WRONG!!! I go to to cancel in the 6 day grace period. Do everything they ask and are still charging me out of my bank account. I called them and said i still owe $200 after I already canceled with them. They just want your money it is a full scam.
I have learned a lot from Penn Foster College. Am about to graduate , well informed, and ready to work in any healthcare set-up. Am doing healthcare Management.
They are no help, even though I have Individual Educational Program they still give me the hardest stuff to do, they are lazy I had to wait for a whole month for them to get back to me about what they can do . They give meme the run around lying about how they can help people that have hard time learning or studying.
They honestly don't even deserve a 1 star. The only thing this school has going for it is the people who answer the phones. I've never called the school and had an issue with not getting answers. I do however, have a major problem with the people involved with the veterinary technician program. Everything started out okay. The classes were easy, and assignments were graded in a reasonable amount of time. I'm now one externship away from my degree, and I've hit a roadblock. The site where I was completing my externship lied to me, and they ended up backing out of my externship halfway through. I called the school, and the woman that answered blamed me instead of listening to my concern. I talked to the program director via Facebook messenger, and he told me to email him directly with my concerns. That was about two or three months ago. I called the school again, and THEY left him an email asking him to respond to me. It's been about a month, and I still don't have an answer. I will not be recommending this money pit to anyone that asks.
I don't recommend this school to anyone. There is not hands on training. Nobody teach you anything. The program is very old and out date. Terrible videos and audios most of the time. They only care about the money and that is. I don't owe any money to them because I paid everything. I didn't feel I have learned absolutely anything. I just quit. What I paid for? I just lost my money and my time.
I did my High School with them. I didnt have any problem, i would recomend them to anyone who intrested in finding a good online ligitimate school weather for college or high school.
So I enrolled in this at your own pace program and someone else decided I was done and suddenly I have two reports on my credit and only 1 in collections. Then they want me to pay off the program they cancelled and start over with another payment. All of this after I couldnt even get access to my program. Then I had 2 deaths in the family that caused me to not directly be able to continue at that time...but that's the purpose of at your own pace right? I'm so dissatisfied with this. Then as I was calling to get information as to what was going on I was told I know what's going on dont play nd got hung up on thats great customer service to a Disabled Vet no less. I'm done with penn foster and will never make another recommendation. I sincerely Hope Penn Foster Does better. The AVMA does have other accredited options. I would seriously give them a look and chance before Penn Foster. It's not just me the one guy. Look at the reviews not the first and from the way I was spoken to definately won't be the last -100% Dissatisfied And I hate when an institution tries to compel you to believe that the reviews dont represent them fairly.....bs they represent exactly what you are eapecially when multiple people from across the country have the exact same complaint. That mean you penn foster have a problem that you need to fix. Reviews exist for this exact reason I hope more people pay attention and as a community we force you to understand. I will be reviewing this everywhere and hope you see this.
Terrible Experience with Penn Foster though their vet assistant certification. It took weeks to get responses and when I went to start my experiential learning they took two months to finish the paperwork to allow me to start. Extremely poor communication and very slow at getting back to me.
STAY AWAY!!
I love Penn Foster! It's so easy to navigate and financially, its a BIG help!
i was about to enroll in vet assistance, but after looking at the reviews, i decided its not gonna be worth pursuing.
literally a joke. ive been trying to submit something on how to use excel for months now and they wont let me move on. LEARNING HOW TO USE EXCEL FOR A VET TECH PROGRAM. WHAT NONSENSE. If i could take all my money back I would. What a complete waste on the last year of my life.
First of all this school is NOT recognized by most institutions and businesses. Unless you want mediocre careers, choose an actual public college at minimum. After signing up, I realized this, and cancelled within the grace period. About a week passes and I get another bill, to which I call and ask why? And they say I need to email them again to unsubscribe. I did. Fast forward 6 months later, I get an email from them demanding a 400 dollar payment. After calling several times, they say there is nothing they can do. They are thieves.
I went through their high school diploma program in 2014. I was skeptical at first but as soon as I received it I was hired to work for the state of Texas and other big companies that won’t hire anyone without a diploma. Moral of the story towards all the bad reviews, just pay. That’s all it takes
WOW, no ZERO stars? That is a shame because even ONE start is way, way too much. As an educator looking to learn a new skill, I was shocked to find that the course included poorly taken old pictures of a black and white book and that is all. NEXT, try, just try and connect with their customer service! HAHA You will get the run around and your time will be wasted without any consideration for you as a person or consumer. DO NOT waste your time at all. Buy a book for the tech classes and you will get more information or better yet, watch video on youtube!
Great! allows you to work at your own pace, so those who learn differently can either adapt or excel in their own way. Makes homeschooling EASY
My daughter started the high school program right after middle school and completed it in less than 2 years!! Right after finishing her diploma, she enrolled in a local technical college and completed an electrical program in 1 year! We're so proud of her start at Penn Foster. By age of 17 she had her high school diploma and graduated top of her Technical College class. Thank you Penn Foster!!!????
for right now I will give 4 stars. I just started so I haven't experienced much. I am enrolled in the Veterinary Assistant program, I do wish there was videos showing someone doing the stuff for more of learning experience and better understanding of the content. for example the handling and restraint. It would be awesome to see a video of someone doing the specific stuff along with the reading material. I haven't had any issues so far with anything. I have enjoyed learning with Penn Foster so far.
So far my experience has been very positive. The student dashboard is user friendly and easy to use. My courses are outlined and I always know which classes are coming up next. I enrolled in the Graphic Design program and will complete by June 2021. I think Penn Foster College is a great place to start if you are thinking about starting a new career, or maybe getting a degree in the field where you are already employed and just want to advance or if you just want to get another degree or certification as a resume builder... Whatever the reason, the tuition is affordable and it's an investment in yourself.
This "homeschooling alternative " is an absolute joke!!! I pulled my daughter out of high-school in the 9th grade because of personal reasons. Once she started Penn Foster, I realized that I had made a huge mistake putting her in that school. I'm guessing they pay a lot of money for the negative reviews they receive, to not be seen when you're researching it. 1- Misspelled words, typos, and false information- My daughter began to point out that there were a lot of words that were misspelled in her reading. We would comment on it, but no one would ever acknowledge it. Let alone change it. Then the typos; there were several times that we would notice double words or even triple words. I'm no teacher, but, you can tell when something you're reading is not supposed to be there. For example, if it were a passage on fruit salads. The text would often times say, " Fruit Salads have have have frequently been looked ata s a rare commodity in certain parts of the country." Obviously that's not too bothersome to someone that's not paying attention. However, we paid good money for this. No one would ever get back to me when I would attempt to contact them about it. And the comments would be turned off. Especially when there was a passage that was not accurate. We began to think that most of the reading passages were generated by a computer, and that computer get its information from Wikipedia. Finally, we decided to enroll her back in public school. This is where things got really screwed up. My daughter was in world history honors, math honors, and was supposed to be eligible for AP classes. Penn Foster took that from her. After the school board battled with Penn Foster to release her transcripts. The high school said she was taking classes that were basically for middle school students. Since the curriculum wasn't advance enough, she would have to retake world history 2 and Math 2. She wouldn't even be in the honors classes anymore! I WAS IRATE!!! I called Penn Foster and they basically said that it wasn't their problem, all they wanted was their money. Which was supposedly a 250.00 cancelation fee that I was never told about and never got an email or booklet via USPS stating I would have to pay, should I decide to take my child out of Penn Foster. I wasn't going to pay them another PENNY considering the fact that their less than diligent research and horrible curriculum had set my kid back. I get a call today from a collection agency saying that I owe $950.00 or they're putting it on my credit!!!! Penn Foster is a sham school. Thrown together by lazy people that only want your money. There is no benefit to putting your child in this school. Infant, it's the opposite. Your kid will be taught incorrectly and poorly. DO NOT ENROLL YOUR KID IN THIS SCHOOL! DO JOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOUR KID'S TIME AND EDUCATION!!!! WILL BE CONTACTING THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND THE DEPT. OF EDUCATION! AFTER ALL OF THE REVIEWS I'VE SEEN NOW, THE ONES THAT ARE SUDDENLY VISIBLE, IT'S GROSS NEGLIGENCE AND AN OBVIOUS ABUSE OF POWER ON THEIR BEHALF!
thank you from the bottom of my heart i graduated two days ago and my career with you was very interesting
After dropping out of High School, they helped me get my Diploma within 6 months and were actually on top of all my work. Highly recommend them as a High School Alternative.
I loved it! I went at my own pace! I loved it! Did I say I loved it? I now have my High School Diploma and I am on my way to further education.
SCAM !This school is full of it! Applied went through with everything but never did any of the work, And now I’m being charged 1200 and it’s on my credit score.
When attending this school please make sure you are 100% sure of the program you want to take. I started Vet Tech and found it wasn’t exactly what I wanted so I asked to switch to Vet assistant and was told I would only get a $200 refund after paying the whole amount of tuition, I had not even finished my first semester of the vet tech schooling. I tried to contact the school at the beginning of December to speak with someone about this and ended up being connected to the library of all places. I would not recommend this “school” because of the lack of working with students and communication. In response to their comment: so going from the higher degree to a certification, when having paid in full, is worth more money? Again this does NOT make sense. Do not give this school money, they obviously don’t care about their “students”’and only about money.
Penn Foster so far has been one of the best choices I've made in my educational life. So glad to have Penn Foster as part of my plan in pursuing my future goals.
This is my second class with Penn Foster, overall I’m satisfied.
Terrible service god help you if you try to call them they are almost always closed even if you call during the hours they claim to be open on and the stuff they teach here is so out dated spend month's learning about floppy drives most people dont even know what a floppy drive is you cant even fit a good picture on a floppy drive
I love it because i can work at my own pace and not miss anything.
I Enjoy the fact that I can take this course in my own time with no crazy deadlines and not 7 courses at the same time to juggle. The Student Services center is amazing too and answers all your questions , leaving you to feel empowered to take your courses stress free. I absolutely recommend doing this for yourself... You deserve this!!!!
I have recently enrolled in the Vet Tech Associate Degree program and so far am having a great experience. Easy to get in touch with people and easy to navigate the student portal and get my studies done.
Several colleges, and jobs do not take Penn Foster diplomas. Even simple factory jobs don't recognize it. Should definitely be on the list of scam schools.
Hi i am looking into this school as my collage when i get of age. I see a lot of negitive and positive commits and reviwes i was just woundering if the school is worth it. I am looking into Forstry and Fish Commishion as my program. Is this worth it?
Hello, I would consider myself to be a good student. I got a 4.0 throughout public school and always excelled and pushed myself. This program is terribly put together. I had to switch programs because the first was so bad, and I thought the second would be better. I call them to stop schooling and they said I had to pay the remaining balance on my account. Asked to talk to supervisor to dispute this awful curriculum and having to pay for it. No call from them, a few weeks later a letter from a collections agency which I didn’t see until it was too late cause we had family issues with getting mail. Drained my credit, thanks. PLEASE do yourself a favor and stay away from these people.
I was curious i am 47 years old and didnt graduate i dropped out my senior year, could i finish my schooling through penn foster and get a diploma? Or i am i too old?
Pretty irritated already with them and I just enrolled. The lady repeated my info back to me and STILL typed it in wrong and now I have to wait to enroll. I'll be updating this after a couple of months with experience in the program to see how I like it.
Enrolled my son into the online classes. He found a better opportunity. I was going to cancel everything but I lost both of my parents 8 days apart. With everything going on I forgot to cancel. They sent me a bill. I called them to inform them what was going on and that I forgot to call and cancel everything with them due to my loses. They didn't care one bit about our situation. They only wanted there money. No remorse or sorry for loss, Nothing. Very rude people.
**EDIT IN RESPONSE** I am aware of the standard way to have credits reviewed and transferred. During COVID the process was different and that temporary process had apparently ended and resume back to the normal processes, which the staff member that was assisting me failed to mention and subsequently would not respond to my e-mails. I have already applied at a different institution, but thank you for the advice. **ORIGINAL POST** I was trying to figure out if Penn Foster was the correct school for me to pursue my bachelors as a Veterinary Technologist. I was advised to supply some of my educational background in order to see which classes I would most likely need to take. The advice I was given ended up being incorrect which they never bothered to tell me, and while I was waiting for a response on the documents I had sent in the school started sending me several emails harassing for enrollment. They do not accept finical aid or most military education benefits, so if you cannot pay out-of-pocket don’t bother.
I am a single working mother and the easy accessibility to classes, homework, and exams at any time is fantastic. The tuition is affordable and what's best is they work with you and allow you to make monthly payments that you can afford!
This school is a scam, missed 2 payments of $45 which I thought it was on auto pay and it wasn't. I called the school to pay it and they sent my stuff to collections. Now I have it on my credit, 2 payments. I asked if we could work something out, they said I had to pay full tuition. Really the full tuition, they say they cant help me no more cause its in collections. Ugh Worst school ever. I was really dedicated to my school all A's and because 2 payments missed now I have them on my credit and no schooling. So me trying to better me going to this school really put me on a huge set back. I DO NOT RECOMMENDED THIS SCHOOL TO NO ONE.
PFC's PC Mainten. & Tech program allowed me to finish an assoc.'s degree without being swamped in student debt. That in itself is an accomplishment. PFC is accred. at the nat'l level, making it a legit choice for degree-seeking adults. My program was anything but a cakewalk. Much self-directed study and patience are needed to finish. I juggled a near full-time job requiring much travel while I worked towards my degree. Some hard copy materials took longer than desired to arrive, but that was likely due to my living in Shanghai, China at the time. For those doubting the legitimacy of PFC, know that it's been an institute of higher learning since 1875.
Great online program
I'm seeing some people say you won't get your high school diploma if you don't pay in full... duhhh !!! Common sense you have to pay before you receive your high school diploma...even if you complete your classes. This isn't free !!! And they always answer my calls in a timely manner. I believe people are leaving negative reviews b/c they're not getting their way. Go with your own experience before believing someone else's bad experience.
You only receive 12 months to complete studies. Every additional 6 months you have to pay for with a 95$ fee even if you paid for your full semester up front in one lump sum as I did. This is misleading as I work a full time job a.d if you work as a vet tech your job doesn't qualify for clinical hours necessary for the semesters requirement you have to attend wherever they send you for your clinical. Not cool.
I have been a student for 3 years now started in Career School, now with the College. I can not say enough about the school. They price is right, compare your college to this! How much in student loans will you have to pay when you graduate? NONE HERE!!!! Check it out trust me, you will love every part!
This is a really Good school , the staff Works with you in order to see your excellence but you MUST put in the work if your want to succeed in this shcool as in any other school.
Easy to use programs. I am currently enrolled in the book keeping course and I find their program easy to use and extremely helpful. I can go at my own pace and continue to work around my class schedule.
Online school at it's best.
I love this program..it’s very legit and the fact that you work at your own pace is the best thing because not everyone is the same and we all learn different. It makes you feel dedicated and accomplished, I just finished everything and I started in October and now i await my graduation in June. I definitely would recommend this school
THIS SCHOOL IS A SCAM THEY SOMEHOW GOT MY SOCIAL AND HAS SENT IT TO COLLECTIONS WHEN I NEVER WENT OR APPLIED TO THIS SCHOOL. IVE HAD TO DISPUTE THEM TWICE.
Hands down the best customer service I have ever encountered, Was thorough and even went above and beyond with looking into things pertaining to my Certification that he really didn't have to. Thank you Stephen! ****For those who are upset about not receiving their voucher to take their exam, Try reading the student enrollment agreement disclosure that you stated you READ, signed and agreed to. It clearly states: Upon successful completion of all Program academic requirements and FULFILLMENT OF OF YOUR PROGRAM FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS you will get it. Their easy, credit free and stress free payment options and not to mention significant price difference, make it so that they get their money for what you are examining for... Sounds pretty fair and legit to me!! Maybe look up information better before coming on here sounding like someone who clearly SHOULDN'T be taking any exam!****
Let me just start off by saying if you're considering Penn Foster please do not just read these negative reviews and be turned off Penn Foster. I was a military spouse who wanted a career working with animals and was able to attend a local college at the same time as Penn Foster so I have a degree I earned from campus courses and I am almost completely done with Penn Foster's degree program. I am in the final semester of the Veterinary Technician program and can say I have NEVER had any issues. My books arrived in a timely matter (even when I live in CA), I've always had my phone calls and emails returned and I've learned a lot. The program I am in is one of the few AVMA accredited distance programs. Since it is accredited I can take my state licensing test and the national exam. The school is a work at your own pace school and you have to stay motivated to succeed but for those with a busy life I strongly encourage you to look into it. Penn Foster has SO many different programs in a variety of areas. You can also join the community before you sign up to talk with current students in different programs.
I didn’t “OK” them to charge my card and they signed me up without my consent ! Now I owe them 1,000 ?! I didn’t get books I didn’t get a diploma !! Now there saying I have to pay so much to close the account !! Like I NEVER finished the processes of signing up !! I’ve never got mail saying anything about any of this !!
Penn Foster is just that!! An Educational Institution that Educates Everyone!! They do deliver, that I Can Say!! I have my June 16th, A.D. 1992 H.S.DIPLOMA From them. Thank-You!
They are not accredited and totally scam.stay away from this school!!!
This is the worst school. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!! I fully regret enrolling. They take along time to grade your exams so it's hard to move forward because you're always waiting on their end. Just dont!
I’m a single mother who is pregnant with her 2nd child. I recently had to move and lost a lot of pay for a job. Emailed to get out of my contract because I can’t afford the monthly payment. They are stating I have to pay $450 to get out of the program which I do not have. Not a very financial friendly school. Will not be recommending this school to anyone!
Please offer Computer Information Systems certification.
Where as their college classes are good and the timing is excellent for peopletting that do online school because they have to support themselves with a full time job. I wouldn't recommend this school if you plan on furthering your degree or transferring, because a lot of schools do not accept or will transfer their credits and trying to get transcripts is difficult. they charge you everytime to get them and if a college says they will get them for you, forget it. Penn Foster won't deal with 3rd parties. Plus they don't accept certain financial aid.
I graduated high school in less than a month I started at 11 grade august 2nd and I graduated august 23rd Best school ever!!
Scammmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please don’t give them know money they will never give you your diploma it’s a scam
I went there to be a bridal consultant and I wanted to use it right away. As soon as I finished it I went out to companies and they said, " there is no certification out there for that!" I was mad to find that out. Than I wanted to see if any of my credits could be transferred. I got a big N.O for an answer saying that the credits and my time are good for nothing. I would never EVER recommend this college for anyone. Go somewhere you know you can get credits that do transfer. Save yourself from a headache and grey hairs!
Love this school. I had completed high school through them now currently enrolled in the college. The material and resources are great.
Great school
Staff isn't the most helpful, they're really nice while you pay for the program but extremely rude after you finish. The info is mostly taken from other websites so wouldn't recommend this 'penn foster' use your money for a better school ;)
I started the high school program and ended up cancelling because they randomly charged my bank account $100 and couldn't explain why. Once canceled they charged me a late fee for every month (4 months) of on time payments and told me I couldnt dispute anything. I even tried to send bank statements so they could see money was taken out as planned each month, but they told me I couldn't do that. I wish I never enrolled. Than I find out they send me to collections. Now I owe over $600 for less than 40% of the high school program plus whatever debt collection fees I now have. The customer service was TERRIBLE. They were rude and the most unhelpful people I have talked to in customer service. And they also NEVER took money off my balance for my transferred in credits. And the credits they did take(without the cash credit they "provide") were ONLY p.e credits. This company is a damn joke. If I could have given 0 stars, believe me I would have. Don't buy into this dirty "education" business... Scam artist
Absolutely horrible experience. They have lost my transcripts multiple times preventing me from progressing through my courses. I have completed 2 semesters and an externship. When I tried to enroll for my third semester I couldn’t because they LOST MY TRANSCRIPTS. How does a school lose its own transcripts. I have called multiple times to try to get it resolved. I have sent pictures of my portal and the completed courses and it has still taken months. What was supposed to be an 18 month program is turning out to be a 2+ year saga because in total I have spent 5 months on hold with Penn Foster at no fault of my own. Today was the last straw. I called to inquire on any progress they had made to on finding my records. Keep in mind I have already paid for semester 3. I was placed on hold after explaining my situation to a woman. I waited over an hour to then find out they closed while I was on hold and everyone went home. Penn Foster is a scam save yourself the trouble and enroll in a reputable institution.
I completed my AS. ECCE in 2011. The curriculum was challenging but relevant to the field. I enjoyed receiving my texts and study material and whenever I had any issues someone was always there to assist.
I am happy with Penn Foster and the faculty. Instructors are very helpful and knowledgeable as well. The staff makes time for you if you seek their assistance or help with coursework or other questions. Penn Foster also has their knowledgeable instructors hold webinars everyday except weekends for virtual learning. For the negative feedback, I believe referring the the student handbook could solve the questions regarding refunds. There are clear, consise information regarding rufunds of the tuition. According to the student manual, the amount of the refund reflects on how many credits were acquired during enrollment. And they break it down for you in the manual.
Love it
Great for self motivated and those whose need assistance. I have two kids and work full time, I got my high school diploma from Penn Foster and now I am getting certified as a medical coder.
I wish I could give negative stars as this place isn't worth 1 star! I'm not sure where to begin. This place just reaks unprofessionalism. It takes months to receive your books in the mail, often arriving after the course begun. They take an obscene amount of time to return emails or calls. I waisted my time and money on this college as they are a joke! Glad I noticed it sooner than later and transferred!
Got my high school from them this school really helped me in life and also with my self esteem thank you penn foster
Absolute ZERO diversity in their Criminal Justice department. This seems to be an ongoing trend I've noticed at a lot of lower level, community based colleges. Most instructors, if not all, are male. Amanda Sanchoo is unprofessional; advised she would follow up and failed to do so. She doesn't reply to emails, absolute ZERO follow up.
DO NOT go through penn foster for any diplomas or degrees. Most jobs and the military do not recognize this school. If you decide to stop schooling because no one recognizes the degree and stop paying or you’re 6 days passed your intitial enrollment, you will still owe the entire balance for receiving NOTHING and it will be placed on your credit report. NOT WORTH IT. Trust me when I say that it is not worth it. Regardless if you complete the courses or not, you will still owe them entire amount. With or without a diploma/degree.
Had to quit because lost my job and my baby at a few days old. Why be in a program if I wasn't going be motivated. They are telling me I owe 800+ dollars which I told them my reasons. They dont care they just want money. I'm in collections and getting calls they are going to sue. Well sorry I didnt think id lose my job than my son in a close time frame. Ive told you guys this and no one cares. If you were thinking of applying please do more research before applying. I would recommend not. Most places don't even consider Penn foster a credible place.
I would never recommend this “school”! I actually sent as per their policy an email to cancel my enrollment. I signed the enrollment agreement on Monday, and never finish the enrollment because I will not take their assessment test, and sent the email for cancel and refund on Friday which is less than 6 days, which is their cancellation policy. Then sent me an email right away stating that they would get back to me within 24 business hours, and guess what I am still wait for simply a response. They took my $1399, full payment for tuition, and it is nothing but a scam!! I will be contacting the better business bureau.
Its fraud! They are trying to come after me for money. They sent my info to a debt collector. I have tried and tried to end this. It really shows how much they lie apparently I owed 800 then it dropped to 300 and now it is like 150...really? But if I dont owe nothing I am definitely not paying nothing.
I inquired to get information on a program. They enrolled me and now on my credit is a $1400 bill for a program I never gained access to or used. Beware about giving your info. Its a scam to charge you for services you never get. Theres no way to cancel it because I never signed up for it. So great. $1427 bill on my credit for asking for info.
I have done both their high school diploma and their bachelors in business management degree program. You have to be an independent learner that is really passionate about what you are signing up to learn in order to keep up with any online schooling program like this. It is such a relief to be part of a school program that gives you plenty of time to finish your work, so that you can do it at your own pace. Their 'chat now' option lets you connect with either an instructor or a general school representative within minutes. Their prices are great/fair and the content is often pretty detailed/good. Often, after sending in a class project/paper the teacher will send it back to be improved upon before you submit it again to be graded, but that's to be expected. Three things that they could improve upon is.. -They could offer a tutoring program for those who need to help in math -- -Make their webinars more relevant for where the student is in their studies and for what's going on in the current career field at the time. -You do a proctor exam at the end of your semester and you have to keep all the class content relevant in your mind since you will be doing only one class at a time. It will take 1 or 2 weeks for your proctor to receive your exam, so you can review during that time. However, you only get 1 hour for each class exam, which seems almost impossible to me, being that often 15 of the questions will be 1 or 2 sentence answers but for the remaining 3 or 5, you will be expected to write out multiply paragraphs for an answer. Proctor exams are the hardest part of these courses.
I learn much better when i'm not sitting in a classroom which is why I I love this school. It is very affordable, the teachers and staff seem to really want you to achieve your goals and i am able to do things at my own pace. Im still in the middle of the program but I will keep you guys updated on how it ends!
My Daughter attends this school, She was having a little difficultly with a assignment and the lady that spoke to her insulted her Intelligence and attacked her character! You guys are getting paid by your students and should not speak down to anyone. How dare you crush the spirit of someone moving forward in live to better her future and her children's life. I would like a phone call back and I would also like the school to apologize to her.I I had to click one star unfortunately.
I love this school they arr very helpful ,kind and they explian things too you , I graduated from here and I'll be staying for my bussines management.
If online education is what you seek, look no further. Penn Foster is accredited and Nationally recognized. I’ve done almost all of my post high school education through them and I love it. Their user interface is unparalleled, even by Ivy Leagues. Their student services are also amazing, as well as their faculty. I am super proud to be alumni, not just proud - PF Proud! In this day and age with online learning becoming prevalent, look to these pros. If you are a brick and mortar person, you might not be too happy. If you are new to online learning, they have you covered with generous tutorials. Furthermore, the courses are on your time, at your pace. No book fees, no tech fees, sweet payment options and they are light years ahead of State, Ivy and Community Colleges in online education. Give Penn Foster a try!
Don't waste your money here. When you finish the program and your whole balance is not paid they wont give you the voucher to take the state test or even the practice exam. I asked if this was anywhere in writing and they transferred 3 times and they said yes in my enrollment agreement so copied the whole conversation and then I went all through it and cant find anywhere where about vouchers, so I honestly don't know. All i can find is that they hold the diploma until balance is paid in full. I wish I never signed up for this.
I never knew I was under contract, now I have to pay this mess back that I never completed.
Sell your information to spam nothing but calls from different numbers stating to call the Penn Foster back but leads into sales for different companies and advertising so wouldn't go through them unless you want your information sold
it feels great to be here
it is amazing
I was so excited to start with this school until They took the hole amount of money out of my account and now I am so stressed out that I can't even pay my bills I signed agreement for them to do a monthly plan because I needed to support my six children and now I am fighting with my bank and them to put my money back into my account. So to all be careful.
going for a plumbers certification through a dollar a day program at work cant wait nervous been out of school in 9 years start next month
Horrible, they just want money. Customer service is not put together at all. You get different answers for the same issue. Also it took them about 2 weeks to respond to me and a week for others. Material is hard to understand and repetitive and no change. Teachers don't care and aren't available. And if you're late a week you're getting spammed. More then the normal spam. And if you cancel you still need to pay off the balance? They won't even HELP with that. Horrible don't go here
I just started but I have to say, I am absolutely loving the experience. I spent an entire week looking at programs and I am super satisfied with my decision.
I just noticed today that took $40 even out of my checking account. my payments not even do yet and right now it's $10 a month until February so there's no reason to take $40 out of my checking account with no explanation email text or phone call. how am I supposed to eat and put gas in my car for the week!! I'm done !!!
I HAVE BEEN ATTENDING PENN FOSTER COLLEGE SINCE 2017 I HAVE COMPLETED ALL COURSES January 28,2020 WOW I'M VERY GLAD TO BE DONE. KLM ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT/CUSTOMER SERVICE LLC. .COMING SOON
Dont do it. They will steal your money. You wont learn anything from their useless courses. They ll put you in collections and ruin your credit. They also say they are va aproved but they are not. Va will pay them for your classes but you still gotta pay them. Shady scammers.
Yes I like being a college student at Penn Foster, everyone is helpful and kind and good understanding.
When my son started going to school in 2009 I decided I was going to try to go back to college to get a degree . I ended up wanting a college that would have a suitable payment plan for each college course . So I had found that in this college as things were going great at the beginning. I was doing my work getting all my books that I needed for the first semester . When the 2nd Semester hit they were using excuses of why my text books were not showing up saying they didn't have them in stock at the warehouse and would be getting them soon but they never did even tho I had paid my usual monthly fee for the payment plan to suddenly have this college to stop sending me the books so I said I'm not going to pay anymore due to me not getting my college textbooks . So then this college decided it was going to continue to charge me monthly and they would add interest on to that bill which led me to a 750 dollar bill cost of a college I had stopped going because I wasn't getting my supplies for my courses. The 750 bill went to the collection and they were the part of ruining my credit . So the result no degree , 750 loss of money and bad credit .
I got my high school diploma from this school but mist place the original. I requested for the replacement and the lady said that she would send me one and charged me $10 for it, but I never received it.
I don't like to put bad review s but seems like Penn Foster isn't willing to communicate or be honest with me because I sign up through the mail for awhile it was doing but all of a sudden it wouldn't let me do any my classes ND I even set up Auto pay for every month will today they take the rest of the amount without letting me know I called them talked to a lady ndshe said that they would call me back end of the day been waiting all day ND it's 614 pm I'm a understaning person but right I'm annoyed that they ain't willing to keep their word when I had enough money to do the Auto payment
I absolutely love my business management bachelor's degree program you will learn so much be prepared to study its not easy. I called the student number to get help and was only on hold for maybe a minute. The consultant was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions as well as offered study tips etc. I did not feel hurried at all. Thank you John at penn foster. Don't miss out on getting a degree give penn foster a try its a real college and each semester gets harder but you will be thankful . Thank you penn foster! Oh as far as payment I don't know of any college yet that will give you your transcripts until you pay your bill . Sincerely, Wanda King
yes, I enjoy being a student of Penn Foster College. I can work and study at my own pace.
I earned my High School Diploma here! Great school! Awesome instructors! Affordable too!! Student loans are great and all til you have to pay them back 5x as much haha but their curriculum is awesome!! they work with you if you need extended time, or to retake an exam. I highly recommend!!
I completed my HS diploma with them had a awesome experience in that program. Went to a University in my home state of Florida for my BSN but the school here didn’t fit me due to COVID being remote they wasn’t very experienced with being remote so the communication was non-existent and decided I was not going to waste anymore money than I already have and would get my BSN later on once the pandemic is under control. So I started my Medical Assistant program today I expect I will have a positive outcome like the first time. This program is regulated and the only way you’re going to put under academic review is if your blowing through the courses yet NOT even reading your course work but still making a perfect score! Come on it’s pretty obvious at that point what is going on and should be handled accordingly. Working at your own pace is fine but when you enroll they let you know how long you have on each program you are taking and do charge for extensions like any other service. And they also don’t want you doing to much to fast because you can’t retain information over working your brain. What is the point of completing a program of you can’t even remember what you learned? You’re not going to do well in your future endeavors. Relax. Take your time and you should have a positive experience.
Penn Foster is my first online school and Im happy I picked it.If I can go to Penn Foster for all my educational needs I will. They are very helpful, they work with you to make sure you have everything you need. They treat you like family and you always have someone somewhere to help. Its better than going to an actual university and I love it!!!! IF you want to go to an online school, within your budget , that actually cares and want to see you succeed, Penn Foster is the place to be!!!!
I go to school there
Penn Foster college is an amazing way to start your career path or accomplish a life long goal. Their affordable, self-paced, and very understanding. Highly recommend Penn Foster to anyone considering college.
they want me to pay my tuition 3 times in order to complete my classes. don't waste your time on this school, they only care about your money.
Their remote proctor program is quite poor. Was suggested to do paper proctors, but replied that I didn't have anyone that could serve as a watcher if I did. And what was their answer? Nothing helpful, ended the conversation there. I've also sent emails of issues I've been experiencing, and they've still haven't gotten back to me. Poor service on certain things, loves to take money ( online exams SHOULDN'T cost you extra money, regular attempt or retake especially when the course itself is 80 monthly and 95 for an extension ). Really wouldn't recommend this school unless you have enough money to burn.
Went through this school originally. They say you can cancel anytime and be refunded or not charged for courses you don't take. I cancelled with them when things got tough for me. They failed to cancel it properly and I found out 2 years later that I had a hot on my credit report for the old balance. I file for bankruptcy shortly after. They failed to remove it still. They wouldn't allow me to re-enroll until I sent them the bankruptcy paperwork. I sent it to them and then they tell me the balance has been cleared but if I want to do their programs I have to PAY IN FULL! Like I just have $1500 laying around to pay for their degrees up front. But here's the kicker. Their degrees aren't worth anything. Talked to my employer now and several other major employers. All of them said they won't take anyone with a degree from Penn Foster because the education provided through them is not sufficient or equivalent to a regular school and therefore does not meet the requirements of the organization. So your paying $1500 for a piece of paper from them that no one accepts.
Seriously don’t go here huge waste of money and time
My child was having problems in high school. We are doing the online program, taking individual high school courses. I have not had a single complaint. The classes are not too hard, not too easy. I paid my dues and I dont expect something for nothing. All the negative reviews are from people who clearly don't want to pay for a service. Of course you cant get your diploma if you owe money. Of course if you dont pay they will take it out of your account. You sign a contract saying you will pay so these people clearly didnt wanna pay. Customer service is helpful and you can speak with someone right away. When my son is done, the credits will transfer back to his normal high school and he can start fresh next year.
Very good school
They scam people for money I haven't even started the course and contacted someone to resolve the issue nobody reached back out now a 2700 credit thing hit my account! Very disappointed with this situation... left a one star because no stars wasn't an option
I was a previous student @ Penn Foster and graduated in 2017, and my experience with customer service back then was amazing. However, now that my brother is enrolled in PF, the customer service has declined due to the lack of knowledge that these representatives demonstrate. For example, I called on behalf of my brother, and I expressed this fact from the moment the agent took the call, at which point, the agent asked me to verify my brother's personal information. After he was through with the interrogating process, the agent informs me that he can only speak to my mother or my brother and if I want to be able to speak on behalf of my brother I need to complete a privacy release. I reply that the last three agents have talked to me without a release and have violated the federal law that ''attorney agent'' was referring to. Finally, the agent lacks common sense because instead of asking me for my brother's credential, he should have told me right from the get-go that he could not release any information because I was his sister. Duh! Then my brother calls and conveys to the representative that he paid his program in full and needs his courses to be unlocked. The representative says that they are not authorized to do so because it can ''overwhelm students,'' only when my brother mentions that my courses had been unlocked when I was a student does the agent mention that she will ask her supervisor. In sum, their present representatives lack basic knowledge of what they can and can't do and lack common sense like the first agent.
I was not happy with my end experience. I did the work and I paid it off and was told it would take 7-10 business days but it’s been over a month and I still haven’t got my diploma. I called over 5x and I kept being told to wait until this day and if it’s not there then call back. I called and called and the were not helpful at all. They would ask for my information, I would give it to them, and out of the 4 people I talked to none of them saw my address wasn’t right. Finally the 5th person I talked to (a supervisor) finally found the problem and had my diploma sent. But before she did that she told me that I could pay $15 to have a new one sent out and she would refund me in the morning. I thought that was unprofessional considering I couldn’t trust these people to send my diploma so how am I going to trust them to refund me money?? Just a overall bad and stressful experience at the end. And no I still don’t have my diploma yet I was told to expect it on Monday????
Penn fosters courses are very well planned out, set up & have more than one way for you to get help if you’re not understanding your classes. Penn foster means it when they say that it’s at your own pace.
Every email i use to try and get info is invalid
Terrible place terrible excuses so they can get more money swear and if you quit there course they still charge you for nothing even if you pay half you have to pay half of the half left there a joke
I’ve seen their campus. It’s a one room office in the Scottsdale Airpark stop by and see for yourself. Correct me if I’m wrong.
Love this online program I’m doing really well in the class and it’s great to do at your own pace . They even helped me out with an extension! Thank you Pen Foster
Best online high school diploma program I definitely recommend penn foster to anyone who is struggling to get they diploma.
So far my experience with Penn Foster is great. Iam attending in their medical field diploma; whenever I have question on regards of topic related to my field and tuition fee they answer it concisely accurate. They are serious on getting your academic goals INDEPENDENTLY. Meaning its self-pace, self-motivation, self-reliance and RESPONSIBLE is a must. If you are a student who are procrastinator. I dont think online and home schooling aint for you. After I get my diploma, I plan to go to my associate degree on pennfoster. ????
I just started my journey with Penn Foster but already I like it. It is user friendly and you are not alone during studies. Help is always a click or call away. If you are a full time employee and full time mom, this college is right for you. Stop wasting time and check it out!
My wife attended this online school. She received absolutely zero assistance with her administrative assistant course. She did not receive any books with her course although they promised to ship them. She had to find additional resources online to complete the course. In the end, she had a difficult time receiving her certificate. She did not receive the $75 voucher for exam. I would have to say that this picking this school was a poor decision on our part.
I was enrolled in the veterinary technician program through Penn Foster. I've been working as a vet tech for the past 7 years, I didn't need the degree to do my job... I just thought it would be nice to have. I had to take quite a bit of time off, and when I tried to get back into it, they told me that I had timed out. I was never made aware that you only have so long to finish their program. The worst part is that I had automatic payments set up. I've paid for the program in full, but I'd have to pay again to finish. Absolutely ridiculous! Do NOT deal with these theives!
If you want to cancel they won’t give you a refund. I only viewed videos of how the task bar works. Had nothing to do with Electrician courses. Now I owe more and they still got my monthly payment. Don't come here all they want is the money!!!!!!! I should have actually followed the REVIEWS HERE, PEOPLE WERE NOT LYING ABOUT THEM.. UGH
I would definitely not recommend this school. A few years ago I had signed up for a course that was supposed to be monthly payments. I started the course and was finished with what was provided in 3 days then they requested another month payment to get more and continue. I was not happy about that and requested to cancel my course. A couple years later it showed up my credit report I owed 997 for the course I only attended for 3 days and canceled. Then it got sold to another collection agency saying I owe 1112.00. When I called and asked them why, they proceeded to claimed I had never canceled and they continued to bill even though I'm sure their system will clearly be able to show I was only on for 3 days. So essentially they ignored my request to cancel and charged me $1,112 for a service I signed to pay $997 for 3 days of use. Do not trust them
Five Star!!! that's what I want to tell all the people who would like to enroll at Penn Foster College. You can't get college credit if you did not take college credit. If you have vocational classes be it you have vocational diploma. Now I reenrolled again for AA degree I hope after this classes I will have Associates Degree corrects.
My girlfriend signed up for a program through this “school” and when she realized she needed to take a different program they refused to refund or transfer the credit to the new program. They were extremely rude on the phone and one gentleman said that they had not received her emails immediately before a woman acknowledged they had. They still refused to refund because the email was sent 6 days after signing up instead of 5. Day 5 was on a weekend so she didn’t think it would be a big deal to send it the following Monday. I’d say this establishment is about as straightforward as the “insurance reps” who call my phone from random numbers at all hours of the day.
Wrong company, meant the high school program.
Why you guys dont help with financial aid for people who’s trying to get they hs diploma?
Don't sign up for this. I signed up and cancelled the same day. Paid $100 now they're telling me I have to pay $200 to cancel. Stay away from here. They can't even certify you for anything. It's a scam.
I have no complaints it’s a really good school they do answer phones and if you don’t pay you don’t get your diploma until you pay and that’s understood I had stop paying and I was send to collections but hey they gave me a chance to pay and I did I receive my diploma and now I am working on my college nothing is hard about the school I will give them a ten if I can great school and they always help you. You have to be patient for what you want ????????????????✌????????????????????♀️❤️
I am taking the Auto Repair Technician course. So far the information has been well delivered and valuable. I have been working on vehicles for 30 years and this course has refreshed and even taught me some things. Curious to see what the other sections offer. If you are a self starter and self learner I'd recommend this course to further your knowledge.
Penn foster is a good college.
I went through Career point college high school program completed all my credit did the graduation still have no received my diploma
amazing school!
Terrible experience! I read a lot of reviews on how Penn Foster only wants your money, but I was so excited to start a new career in design, that I went for it anyways. Penn Foster claims that they have coaches that will help you along the way. When I had to call to ask for help, they were rude. When I asked for a coach to contact me, they never did! I receive phone calls, letters, emails daily on money I owe them. I payed every month during the first part of the program. Somehow I still owe over $1500 to them even though I did not do anymore than the initial start to the program. They told me I have to cancel or will still be charged. I emailed to cancel and now have them calling me to pay a cancellation fee!?! DO NOT CHOOSE PENN FOSTER ! ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS ARE TRUE. Very Dissatisfied
I see a lot of bad reviews concerning Penn Foster. Most of them are about refunds, late books, and rude staff. I’m not sure why some of you are having problems. I've called several times and always received very courteous service. When I call them, I’m pleasant so maybe that is why they’re pleasant as well. As for the tuition and refund policy, I made sure that I read the contract that we all signed before we started our courses, so I have no issues there either. Quite frankly, I don’t expect to get a refund if I’ve completed most or all of the course(s), that's just ludicrous. I work in a customer service related job, and I see a lot of the same kind of whining. They’ll sign a form/contract and then when they’re trying to get out of it and can’t, they end up complaining about how we’re the worst company on the face of the planet and how they’re going to contact the BBB and also give us bad reviews on Yelp. I try to express empathy for the way they're feeling, but I also ask them did they read the contract BEFORE they signed it and most tell me no. Now, I have to give them a lesson on the importance of reading documents before they sign them. In spite of everything, they still manage to point the finger at someone else for something that is clearly their responsibility… Sound familiar? You would think at some point they would bother to read the forms since they are also provided a copy of them before they leave my office. Not meaning to be rude, but based on some of the posts, some of you sound very young or young in your thinking. You give the impression that you haven't really experienced life yet. Believe it or not, “real” colleges function in the same manner that Penn Foster does when it comes to tuition. If you don’t pay your tuition, you don’t get your degree. Many colleges won’t even let you start your next class if you still owe money. Although Penn Foster won’t give you your degree if you have an outstanding balance, they will allow you to continue with your classes even if you still owe for the previous class. If you are frustrated with Penn Foster, I’m sorry to hear that because I think it’s a great school with VERY changeling coursework. I agree with one of the writers on this site concerning their accreditation. They really should be regionally accredited. I’ve learned so much while attending this school and it’s practically not costing me anything. I attended a regionally accredited college that was considered prestigious, and Penn Foster can definitely keep up. In some of the classes that I’ve taken with Penn Foster, I feel they may have even surpassed the regionally accredited school that I attended. To address one of the other writers, we are not all here because we can’t get into any other institutions. For me, tuition became too expensive. For the negative reviewers, I would like to challenge you. If you didn't read your contacts, please do. Also, read the student handbook. Make sure that you read them thoroughly, and If your particular circumstances aren’t addressed, give them a call. When you speak with them, let them know that what you are concerned about isn’t outlined in your contract or the student handbook. Then ask them if they could please assist you with locating the information or to provide you something in writing stating you obligations and responsibilities. If you find ultimately that you can’t get any concrete proof that the contract is binding concerning your situation, then maybe you have grounds for a lawsuit and should seek legal advice. That's how you get your money back if it’s owed to you. Venting all over social media and trying to slander their name really isn’t helping your situation. It honestly just shows your emotional intelligence and lack of intellectual intelligence.
I love this program, I'm not being compensated by any of the sources that be. They have given me a second chance at life and was pleasant at doing so. Penn foster is a all about how bad you want it and being prepared to work hard for it. The customer service was excellent catelyn my Admission Advocate was very informative and understanding and clear on details, and like most I'm not the richest person and they will work with you because it's their mission as educational providers. They been in business for years and getting stronger.... ????
I would never recommend this school for anyone! Waste of money since your “teachers” don’t help you ever and when you call the help center, all they do is put you on hold and never get someone to actually help. And the one time I did get someone finally to help me, they were BEYOND rude. DON’T FALL INTO THIS TRAP!
This school changed my life since I could not have gotten a degree any other way. With the affordability and good customer service this is the best school for me. It's come a long way and I cannot wait to see the school have more bachelor programs. Without my bachelor degree I would not have a better income today.
very difficult to get a hold of a person to speak.other then that I don't recommend this online classes if your a hands on person I myself had lots of trouble understand how to answer everything so if your good online go for it if not up to you
This review doesn't reflect the coursework itself, as I only purchased a Penn Foster course for a client. That said, the process of requesting a refund and the associated receipts was absolutely painful, involved 5 phone calls (and 5 trips through the Student Care phone tree and long wait times) and I think warrants this negative review. Every person I spoke to in Student Care was polite enough, but fairly clueless. Why was I not issued a receipt at the time of payment? Why did my client – who had nothing to do with payment – need to make a special request by phone? Why could only my client request a refund, when it was my company who purchased the course??? Why could the receipt only be sent to my client’s email address??? I should also mention that the reason a refund was needed in the first place was because I unknowingly purchased two student accounts using a wonky and unclear online checkout system. I'm frustrated. Get it together, people.
Penn Foster seems pretty good and yes, they are accredited I checked that out before I registered. Penn Foster does have fees but they are also a for profit college.
A few years ago I was told that the High School Program was stopping. Now on TV they are showing that they have a high school program. Someone should looked into that.
So far my experience with Penn Foster has been wonderful. I graduated from their high school and I am now attending Penn Foster college. Like any school, you will have your good and bad. I will say that for me, this school has been great. Penn Foster is giving me the opportunity to earn my degree. Because of this school, I will go onto do great things.
Tried to get out the program in the first semester due to financial issues and they still wanted me to pay over $1000.
I was a student at Penn Foster quite a few years back. I was doing well until I got stuck on a English coarse. My English teacher was not helping me through my struggle and I ended up dropping out. The sad thing is I paid for my semester in advance. It was a total waste of money. I really regret to this day going to the online Penn Foster school. It has been over 5 years and I am still upset about the customer service that I received. Lastly I was not paid a $50.00 referral fee to sign up my mother. I wish these people would make their wrongs wright.
IT is horrible and argued with me on which browser that I had currently opened. Testing is ridiculous. I sent an email for a dull refund and I haven't heard anything back from them yet.
updating to let you know that they closed my account and told me if I want to finish that I would need to re enroll and pay for it again then maybe they could transfer some grades. I PAID IN FULL FOR THIS PROGRAM! this place is nothing but a scam!! stay away!! I was in the veterinary technician college program. it's a very hard program, but besides that I can't get a hold of anyone to help me! I had straight A's but my laptop shut off during my proctored exam retake and it submitted my exam not even halfway through the test. another retake isn't available and so just because of this one test I failed the course. No one will assist me in next steps on any replacement course...
When I enlisted in active duty military service and tried to cancel my account under the SCRA (Servicemembers Civil Relief Act) I was told that even though I had not, and would not be able to complete the course due to military service and become certified that I was still responsible for the balance on my account. Sounds like shutting off your old landline and still being charged for it to me. After several attempts to get this corrected/ dealt with, I was left on death hold multiple times. I was actually disconnected from a call once during this process and no one ever bothered to call me back. In all my years of customer service, this would never be acceptable behavior regardless of what the situation was. Even supervisors and managers in the student services department can’t be bothered to honor their response time. Long story short, very dissatisfied with the customer service aspect of this institution and would not recommend it to anyone for any reason. It is also very disheartening that for this act to be in place since 1940 that not a single person at this institution was even aware of the SCRA, especially considering that they have a VA Benefits department.
I love penn foster and the help and support they gave to me along time to get my high school Courses but they never gave up on me and they help me in more ways than I can explain I’m so thankful that I complete it my program with them now I’m currently doing college classes with them they are a great program for anybody who’s looking to go back to school I start a new career And path in life
Was great when you understood things but when you get into trouble and need instructions get ready to wait a few days and if by chance you still don't understand you gotta wait for more days than cause you gotta email them. Look some where else for a better school I learned some decent material but if you get stuck your screwed. Thanks for the reply but tried to have Jon talk with me over the phone but would not do it tried SEVERAL times
I love this school I have had nothing but an amazing experience. Im close to graduation as well as having everything paid off. I recieve my books in time for the next course. Everthing goes at your own pace, which works better for me considering I have a full time job and two children. I do my work when I am able to squeeze it in. Thank you so much Penn Foster, I'm looking forward to doing my collage courses with PF after graduation.
Don’t go to this school. All they care about is money. They make everything so complicated and don’t help
Worst experience of any college. Not only was there little to no guidance during the classes, but if you were to miss a payment, instead of trying to make something work for both parties, they send you to collections.
This is a scam school beware. Just randomly charged my account over $300.00 out of nowhere????? Yeah, no thanks, even after paying for school that was never done and cancelled at the beginning, we still were responsible for the not attended classes, okay got it. We paid off the unused classes for over a year, and cancelled the account. Now we are fighting to have our money returned after an unauthorized DEBIT CHARGE!. Also, the customer service experience was one that was very disrespectful and we were talked down on the whole time. They only worried about nickle and diming us and were not willing to assist, rather than care about the well-being of other humans they are dedicated to the mighty dollar. Overall extremely disappointed with this schools morality and integrity. Again, ********USE EXTREME CAUTION*******
DO NOT GO HERE, waste of money, and a complete SCAM
I see many bad reviews for this school, some talking about my current program (vet tech). I do not agree with any of these thoughts. This school is wonderful, i have yet to have a bad expirenece that wasnt self-inflicted. From even before enrollment to now, i have been thought of, motivated, and encouraged by staff, instructors, and fellow students. This school offers a quality education without breaking the bank. It is self-paced and its outlined in a way thats easy to follow. Ive seen come complaints regarding the amount of time you have to complete, let me say this... All that information that was 'surprising' is written out for you in the literature, you just need to read it carefully, just like any other document. As for the postage of textbooks, the system has recently been updated and there have been less issues. In summary, this school is great and i am proud of being a student here. #pfproud
If I could put this review at 0 or even in the negatives I would. Advise everyone to read full reviews before considering signing up. My experience with them was horrible and it has only been 2 weeks. I signed up for a program and realized auto correct miss-spelled my name I then called them immediately to get that fixed. I was then transferred to another line and hung up on not once but twice. I continued on to the program thinking maybe I could get ahold of them the next day. I thought wrong. I was constantly hung up on threw their automated system. I was unable to actually talk to ANYONE. I had put requests in threw my phone on their message part but it kept popping up with an error. Then finally was able to get in on a computer and do it just to be a day late due to not being able to get a hold of someone for the whole week. Instead of just fixing my name I have decided to cancel the program due to their lack of service. I received an email with how much I owe and that was it. It’s sad to see that all they care about is money and expect me to pay 200$ when I have been trying to get ahold of them since I started this program a week ago. I should have listened to the reviews as well as listened to my co workers about how their programs are horrible but didn’t. I will be waiting for their supervisor to contact me regarding this. Super un happy with this situation. Only pleasant part was a lady named Heather who actually knew customer service and how to calm down an angry client (me) and helped with what she could in a pleasant manner even with my attitude. Very upsetting UPDATE: I never received a call back from them and as of this morning 4/23 they have taken more money out of my account. This place is a joke. I will never recommend this place to anyone. Truly should have listened and stayed away. Horrible.
I’m trying to cancel my auto-payments and withdraw from my program because I can’t afford the schooling and they’re giving me such a hard time. I have only been enrolled for 2 months. It’s sad that they’re only worried about getting money. For a school to advertise how “affordable” they are, they’re not looking out for the best of their students. If someone can’t afford it, they can’t afford it. I don’t care if it’s sent to my credit!!! Just let me out of it.
This would be my first all online program and I cannot stress enough how awesome it has been so far. I called the program for information and it took me no time to realize that I had arrived to the right place. I work full time, have children and a house to run after a long day at work and this program is just perfect, not only because of the self pace option, but also because you have support, you are not alone and this is from the start. Everything is right there, my only regret is I wish I had done it sooner!!
I have had such horrible customer service with Penn Foster. Had signed up for a major but had to cancel 4 days later due to personal reasons at the time. Still being charged when I did my part to cancel and being told that it was not cancelled until months after which isnt true. I have reached out multiple times by phone and email to resolve and no one is assisting other than telling me I am wrong. This is very unprofessional.
I wouldn't recommend this college. Basically got told I was retarded, was told I needed to cancel because this school isn't for me. How can they expect to get a way with this behavior. I'm just trying to better my future and be proud of myself for accomplishing something good in my life. Shame on the staff and shame on this college.
Horrible! If I could give no stars I would! Paid in full my entire course. Was told they needed my transcripts. Transcripts were mailed. They told me yesterday they received them and course would be released to me to take! Called today to see why it hadnt been set for me to take now they claim they never got my transcripts! Can’t do anything with the course so I’m sitting here with no way to take the course, and out the money for the course! Do not use this company!!!
The customer service is terrible. I told them I was going to be late on a payment because of unforseen circumstances they said it was fine and proceeded to overdraft my bank account. Then when I canceled under the impression I wouldn't owe anything I was hit with a $280 bill. Every time I call to see what the heck is going on the people I talk to are rude and when I ask to speak to a supervisor they put me on hold for 20 minutes and I never get to speak to anyone.
They are not accredited!!! Scam!!! The only people who like this place are the people who can't get into anywhere else. You can see good references for only high school programs. This is scam, i paid so much money and now they wont give it back. Huge scam DON'T DO IT! They are liars I wish I could have looked at references like this. I don't know how these people sleep at night. They will take your money and never give it back! TONI AND AMBER ARE SUPERVISORS THAT WILL DO THEIR BEST TO RUIN YOU WHILE TONI SAYS SHE HAS A HANDICAPPED SOME,....SO DO I!!!! HOW IN THE HELL DO THEY SLEEP AT NIGHT NEVER GO HERE. THEY ARE NOT EVEN CLOSE TO BEING A COLLEGE. DISGUSTING.
Ive been in my program for about 1 month now and enjoy if fully. My husband has also done school through penn foster and completed it. You are able to work at you on speed.
Penn Foster College is a wonderful institution. I earned my Associate's degree in 2012 major was Criminal Justice. The Lessons were challenging and good. The lessons helped me to learn my job in an analytical way. I then earned my Bachelor's degree from North Carolina Central University. If I didnt earn my Associate's at Penn Foster College I dont think I would have earned my BS degree. In addition, When I earned my Associate's with Penn Foster College Duke University hired me in 2012. When I earned my Bachelor's degree with North Carolina Central University I was promoted to Manager of Operations for Duke University Police. James Thomas Durham NC
They lie too much about the smallest things
It’s been great so far. It was easy to enroll, the platform is easy to use, and I like it so far. I’m currently enrolled in the Medical Billing and Coding. Great experience overall!
Excellent service, I have been with other online universities and this far is the best and most organized. They have been in operation since 1890 - so imagine that?! :-) They are both regionally and nationally accredited by the US Department of Education and CHEA Council of Higher Education Accreditation. This is the best! No bias, just honest review from my experience :-)
I LOVE IT. The online college is very good, the price is cheap and fair, you will have plenty of time to do your assignments, your professors are very helpful, the front desk is always there to help if you are having trouble and having difficulties with your account. I would highly recommend this college, my major is Early Childhood and I have gotten A's and B's on most of my papers. I would give this online college 5 stars and recommend it to any one who needs to do online college. Trust me you will love Penn Foster.
Terrible I'm in the highest anxiety trying different times to get a hold of them and can not. Always closed. I'm still with out job and have to cancel and scared to tell them because of the way they flood you before payment is due .
I have just started with penn foster and have been shown how to navigate the web sight that relates to my course and have learned enough that on my first graded test i scored a 95 so if i can do this anyone can your future is just a click or call away so do it
So Far , So Good ! The studies well prepare me for the Exams and I am so excited to keep going on the path of hopefully early graduating . Just give it your all , take notes . good luck on your journey you have this !
I absolutely LOVE Penn Foster College! I'm so happy that I chose them to help me achieve my goals! It's very convenient for me because I work full time and second shift and I can do my school work at night when I get home and also enrollment is SUPER easy and can be done all online! 10/10 highly recommend!
Penn Foster is a rip off. I owed $88 when I stop attending because of financial problems & now I owe $1446.54 to a collection agency. Go figure that out.
worked for me I have and received my high school diploma. now I'm at a Community College studying criminal justice.
This school is garbage. The instructors are unavailable at all times. You cannot contact them directly even while actively a student in their course. Their phone tree hangs up on you if you don't precisely follow its prompts. They do not outline requirements clearly. Their own instructors don't follow the course rubrics or expectations for projects. Honestly, most of their instructors are quite mean and...should not be "teachers" of any kind. This is the worst institution I have had the misfortune of dealing with, and I was in graduate school and a teacher prior to switching careers.
worst course you could possibly sign up for. they say that you'll have an instructor assigned to you for any questions you'll have, you can call or contact anytime for help online, and the class has plenty of videos for visual learners and blah blah blah. then they get your money and none of that happens. they hang up the phones and shut down the chat rooms at 6 pm. when exactly do they think people who take online classes are taking class? cause it's typically after their full time job. and if you try to ask for a refund, you'll be met with a reply similar to "our refund policy doesn't apply to your curriculum" these people have nothing to offer. do not give them your money Edit: hilariously, I received a reply to this review within two days, but have yet to receive any sort of reply or communication for the questions or help I requested a week later. Just goes to show that they care more about their public appearance than they do about their actual students, because they’ve already paid and won’t be getting their money back
I don’t understand the negative reviews about Penn Fosters handling of billing and student issues. I personally have never had a problem with the way I was treated if I had questions about classes or assignments or anything related to my coursework. Penn Foster makes it incredibly easy to enroll and the payment options are unbelievably fair. If you’re not nor ever have been a particularly responsible individual whether it be with finances or commitments, don’t apply.
I've always been afraid to further my education because not a single person I know has had a positive come from taking out loans, and not all of us have the time or are able to really put into words or actions what's asked of you for a scholarship or let alone save the money yourself. Life is unpredictable. I'm still wowed by how easily Penn Foster assists you with paying your way in non-overwhelming ways and that if you want to pay it all up front like I was fortunate enough to do so, you save money! That's not even the best part though. You set your own goals and put in time at your own pace along the way. So if I had a terrible day and can only manage 30m of study time because I'm too sick to fit a few hours in, it's okay. If you have kids and a full time job to tend to and 15m is all you can manage that's also okay. If you're falling behind or need more time, Penn Foster works with you, not against you so you can reach your goals. As a disabled, low income 31yo going at a snail's pace but still going, I can already tell you this is the best decision I have ever made.
Took 1 class, 1 credit. Charged 55$ (15$ + 20$) for transcript send to application service.. They couldn't get it right over 3 weeks. This cost me admission to grad school. Grossly incompetent. STAY AWAY
Poor follow through when you have an issue. It has been over a month since my company paid for my classes and I still cannot log in. Each time I call, I get the runaround how they are working on it and they are “escalating” my case. I would highly recommend another school or going another route. They act like they are trying to help, but all you get is excuses. Student beware!!!!!
So far I've found a college that I can do full time student father of 8 and husband and work 70 hours a week so even if I can't dedicate hrs at time I can find time to do the Penn foster college because it's schooling I need on my schedule
I really enjoyed all of courses at Penn Foster. I received my diploma, and I am now getting ready to start college this winter. Thank you so much Penn Foster. Tapanga Dowdell /Graduated August 18, 2021
Penn Foster is an amazing school the staff were always super friendly and always helped me answering my questions. I graduate ii nitrate 2017 i earn my small business certificate and now I work at a assistant manager at Charming charlie . Now to the people complaining ,Don't blame the school because you were to lazy to work on your course. Hard work always pays off.
Very good online service. The classes are eassy and simple
I have finish High school with Penn Foster and received my diploma in mail. It took me about a year and a half with working and taking care of the house hold. I took all4 years, even though I only needed about 2.5 years to finish. But it had been 20+ years since I was in any kind of school. It was a great school to finish with. I also am taking Personal trainer and nutrition now. The classes are great and easy to take and test on everything. I have had no problems what so ever with my classes with Penn Foster. I can say that after reading some of the reviews on here that there are a few unhappy people with their classes and payment options. To me it just sounds like some of these people did not understand what they were getting themselves into. I was informed about everything about the classes before I even started my classes. It's a matter of asking all the right questions when you talk to someone about the classes. Plus you must read all paperwork before signing and ask questions if needed about the paperwork. No when I started my classes for Personal trainer and nutrition, I made sure to ask about all the payment options and how long (months) I have to finish the courses, and what can I do if I see I need to extend my time (months) of classes. The representative was very nice and patience with me about everything that I asked about and explain everything clearly to me. So GREAT SCHOOL over all.
I started going to Penn Foster earlier in 2019 for electrical and plumbing just so I could get a better raise and grow within the company I work for. I paid for all the classes upfront it totaled $1,418 for the two courses and so far seems to be going good I got all the books on time and in new condition. So far I'm about one-third the way through both courses and have no complaints I've never had to contact Penn Foster other than set setting up the initial course. I don't see why people are having a hard time other than not paying the total amount due that's why I'm I'm guessing all of the bad reviews.
I was attending classes dropped out of the program (vet tech) but never got any credits for the previous classes I took and passed with an A (veterinary assistant) instead they are charging me 670.00 for classes I already took and passed and to top it off they have it on my credit report not just once but twice. I tried to fight the charges no one ever called me back like they said they would. There is no way in hell I'm going to pay twice for classes I took and passed with an A. And to top it off I'm not paying twice the amount to get it off my credit. I will never recommend anyone here.
Finished my high school diploma and yet received my diploma in the mail. Called multiple times and it’s been 2 1/2 years and still no diploma
I took the travel agent program back in 2020 and found this program to be very outdated and not helpful as it doesn't really teach you how to be a travel agent or what it actually is like as a travel agent. I would recommend going through the travel institute or ASTA as they're up to date and have better education material. Taking this program through penn foster will lose more money then gaining anything, Plus a lot of companies won't hire you unless you have already had 5 years of experience or a bachelor's degree or both, I had no luck finding employment with companies and I live in the city. Im not saying thats for everyone but my own experience with the program, I also found the professor of the program needed a attitude check as it seemed he hated his job and wasn't very helpful with questions. Im sure they do have better programs.
This school is ridiculously terrible everyone said it was made to make life easier on the student but my son has been struggling since the third week it becomes very difficult. This school is very fraudulent it stole my money for one of these test they have to take and you can’t un roll your student it is very frustrating‼️
I would like to thank Penn Foster and team for all the support provided to me. I completed all my courses, and exams❤️I started Aug 9, 21. Finished Sept 12, 21. I pushed myself day and night to complete all courses. I am proud to say I am officially done! Thanking god for giving me all the strength I needed with this journey. This wasn't easy, but what is easy in life? You can do whatever you put your mind to❤️This is just the beginning????????❤️Now moving on to college. Keep your head up and may everyone accomplish their goals. You can do it!! Keep all negativity away. Stay focused????No excuses✊????Good luck to all????????❤️One more thing, Stop bashing Penn Foster on the reviews humble yourself. Negativity will not get you anywhere in life. Complete the courses/Exams, and pay your dues. God bless #IGraduatedFromPennFoster????
I am giving perfect 5 stars for comprehensiveness of information on their website and for superb representative services in assisting potential students with helpful information and guidance. I would also like to inform one reviewer that it is slanderous to say any entity is a scam when you provide no explanation for publishing such a statement. Any comments seemingly negative that I've seen in these reviews are issues that the person could have become aware of in advance. No one is responsible for you getting the available facts and information before proceeding except for yourself. My experience is that this school's representatives will truthfully answer every question you have -- in advance and throughout. If you make assumptions without getting the available facts, then please take responsibility for not reading the information, or for not asking the questions (if you don't feel like reading). By the way, if you don't feel like reading, then maybe you shouldn't be taking classes. And, if you don't know the difference between a certificate and a degree, they will be glad to explain, all you need to do is ask.
Complete scam artists. I requested to withdraw my attendance from their school within the allowable date. They never did and then sent my account to collections. I would highly advise anyone considering this "educational" institution to look elsewhere.
They will not help you at all. They will assign you projects using programs that cost $100s and will fail you when you can’t complete them adequately. They will not help you even if you call the number. Just a poor program, you’re better off just not getting a degree from here.
I am very happy with Penn Foster. Instructors are very helpful and knowledgeable as well. Very affordable and I never have any type of problem with them. I will definitely recommend Penn Foster to anyone. I LOVE THIS ONLINE COLLEGE.
Extreme frauds. Sent my account to collections for the full amount of the course even though I was on the pay for what you do program. I cancelled it when I got sick and now they have “no record” of it and don’t allow students to cancel over the phone though I had already spoken with 2 other representatives on the phone to cancel and both allowed it. They “mysteriously” lost the record of me canceling it. The collection agency is trying to scam me for the full amount of the program even though I dropped it right after the orientation. This place is nothing but incompetent frauds. I have reported them to the BBB. And will be disputing it with each credit union. Also wanting to get a lawyer because it has greatly affecting my credit and my life.
I already had one or two degrees in some technical fields when I started the engineering technology course with Penn Foster. I haven't finished my diploma yet but the amount of knowledge I acquired throughout the years is been amazing. Organized self paced learning is being an invaluable tool for me as it allowed me time to thoroughly go through and understand the subject matter. Also, I've been very lucky to almost always be assisted by the very friendly and competent student care representative. Well done Penn Foster; keep it up!
DO NOT go to this school! I’ve wasted so much money, it’s impossible to get ahold of the teachers themselves , customer service is always available but they aren’t the ones grading your papers. I tried to unenroll because of how unprofessional they were , I haven’t even completed the first semester and yet they tell me I’m responsible for still paying for the whole program . This place is a joke and not worth anyone’s time
Do it at your own pace
Penn Foster College is a great Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC), American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) accredited College, the reviews I read on here are frightening.I decided to try Penn Foster for myself , I transferred my credit to Charter Oak State College but I'm sure everyone experiences are different.Thank you Penn foster for making education convenient for full time working people.
This school is a joke! They claim you can go at your own pace so it works with your work schedule but they actually have unrealistic demands for turning in school work. If you need time, they demand a huge fee for "time extensions." They also give good grades until your last finals when they give such horrible grades they make you look like you never cracked a book. This is a SCAM!!!
I did the accelerated high school program since I already had some high school done and did my GED. They wouldn't accept my transcript and I finished in a couple months due to already doing most of the classes. I was told I still needed to pay the full amount, then why offer and accelerated option if you still have to pay full price???
If I could give them a 0 I would
THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL SCHOOL AND FACULTY. I got my medical coding and billing diploma from them and not to mention how bad I was treated. Today I called to ask for CE classes and the lady on the phone tole me: " After I talked to my supervisor you need to GOOGLE what you need and we can't help you." I COMPLETELY REGRET DOING THIS WITH THIS SCHOOL.
Fake scam
I took the pharmacy tech course online here and I lost my job due to the pandemic. I paid off more than $500 out of the balance. I told them I lost my job & a few weeks later my account was inactive & I had a huge bill on my credit from Penn foster with an amount higher than what I already paid. I had completed about 70% of the pharm. Course I had a B at the time & they didn't give me a chance to finished I only missed one payment..I don't recommend this school they just want money.
I would never recommend this school the community colleges seem to been right scam scam scam
Really recommend PennFoster I completed my High School diploma threw them and now I am working on my Medical Assistant degree they make it so easy and convenient to work at your own pace and around your personal schedule I can't say enough good things
Scam artists. Rip people off and are desperate for money. Rude people on the phone and constantly call you needing it
I graduated through there homeschooling program. Tried to enlist in the military and I was rejected because my credits were useless cuz it was a un traditional graduation
I finished my Pharmacy technician program with PF, recently passed my exam certification and currently working as a pharmacy tech at cvs where i also did my externship. i can say ,my experience were amazing and customer service is always on point! I enrolled myself again for another career program to broaden my skills even more!
They don’t even deserve 1 Star! My son was enrolled for high school, got 85% completed only to be reset back down to 60% for unknown reasons. He decided to go ahead and continue , got up to 92% and reset back down to 60% this time stating fraudulent activity on his account. Same ip, same computer for the past 6 mos. I now just called him to unenroll him, and after 2 hours an instructor gets on and has the nerve to argue what I did or did not see. I stated he passed one of the courses and she argued that I didn’t see that and he did not pass it. Finally 2 hours later he best be unenrolled and he’s going down next week for his ged. He should have been graduated in July. Don’t waste your time or money! They are a joke!
I had tranfered my high school credits to pennfoster high school program and finished in 2009. Ever since then I have been able to use my diploma to colleges I applyed for and attended, also at every job I have worked as well. I am happy with how I was treated and my material came on time. I did get in the medical assistant degree program as well but didn't graduate, at the time I wasn't very motivated enough. You really have to have a lot of motivation in order to get through. Your working independently so it is a lot harder then going to a traditional school. I am going to go back to pennfoster after I geaduate from beauty callege in Nov 2016. Hope this helped????
Stay away from Penn Foster College. This For-Profit School agreed to give me a program for $25 per month; they didn't honor the agreement and suddenly increased the monthly payment, because of this my credit card got declined and they wrongfully sent me to collection. Penn Foster College is violating my rights and wrongfully causing me a financial damage. Currently I'm seeking legal assistance to solve this issue and avoid this from happening to other people.
This is absolutely awful, I completed my courses and got my diploma. However, my name was incorrect, I called in and somebody advised me that in order to correct the name I would need to send my Driver License or birth certificate to proof, and which I did. They gave me an email, but that email was an invalid email . I called again, at this time another person told me that there is nothing they can do once the program is completed, and the certificate is shipped. So, now I got a diploma with a wrong name, and which is useless. I waste my money and waste my time, but at the end I got nothing. This is so awful for me.
This is an online college
I’m interested on getting my high school diploma, would the credits that I already had transfer over? I have 15+ credits from my previous high school
