Wow whats going on with my Guard Card!? I submitted my application almost 1 year ago and haven't heard a word, received a Email, or Mail from the BSIS. Its hard to get through on the phone. I was on the phone for 30 mins on hold waiting and then the line just hangs up on me! I submitted my app on April 3rd 2018 whats going on?

Robin has always been very helpful. I first started in 1988 with a guard card and 30 years later, I am still getting great results.

this is really sad , they cash the checks but still take however long they want to process your information. I just got told they spent my money but still have my application pending . i sent my application last year & im still waiting smh .

Every time I call, their automated machine tells me there is a 10 minute wait time. Currently on this phone call, I have been on hold for 1 hour 07 minutes and 50 seconds. Last time I was able to get through in regard to inquiring about the hold up on my guard card, they said it was because my fingerprints had not been completed yet by the DOJ. After inquiring to the DOJ about this delay, they told me that my fingerprints were already processed and completed, literally, 7 weeks prior. I'm about to lose my job because of their absurd delays, and for a combat disabled veteran with a completely clean background (who also has a family to care for), it should not be this frustrating or difficult of a process to get something as minor as a guard card. Maybe a big portion of the homeless veteran population would be able to sustain themselves if the government here in California actually gave a damn about veterans. **Update. Guard Card finally approved after 58 days on the 28th of February (and that's the quick veteran service, so civilians may be waiting longer). My firearms permit, however, was kicked back for a deficiency on the 15th of February because, surprise surprise, my Guard Card needed to be approved first! NOW 13 days later, I am STILL waiting for them to update the deficiency on my firearms permit. I've called and literally been hung up on or disconnected three times. I've emailed them as well. And currently, I am on hold now...the machine said less than 10 minutes and its already been 32. Thanks for this super quick and high speed veteran service guys!

If your in need of a job that requires you to carry your firearm (exposed permit) in a timely manner or within 3 months, kust quit your job and look for another profession if it's an initial because this license will not come in until 4 to 6 months probably even more. I was mis-informed on my process date at one point and then corrected that my process went through a month later instead of the month previous. I then have been cooperating with BSIS and I'm told to check the updated dates for processing on the permits. I looked and checked everyday and the same date was up for 2 weeks straight. This one license that you have to wait for messes with your living, promotions, hours and possibly can lose your job also. Idk why It takes so long to process and not to mention after that, once your done with the processing you then have to take the physc test and after that you have to wait another 10 days on top of that. I paid well over a good amount of money that Im trying to work and get back and can't because I'm suppressed and limited at my job due to this permit that you have to wait months. Reps will say what they say to get off the phone with you like we understand, we are sorry but don't understand the frustration. Bills don't change and continue to come but we have to wait on a damn permit and wait until they want to get to it. Still waiting and being patient until Im told other wise and my job just says sorry also but we gotta let you go.

Called several times all of them have different answers. Waited for 50 minutes to tell me that they don't find anything or any payment from me. I've done the course since October 23rd. One person said they recieved the payment since December 8th, another can't find it and another told me they put my payment for initial licensing into the old application. Don't know what kind of training they have going on....

The BSIS office doesn't close until 5pm, So they should be answer their phone calls all the way up untill 4:59pm. I called at 4:23 they said my wait time was 10 mins, yet they didn't answer the phone at all! I was on hold untill 4:50 when I decided to hang up because I know they weren't going to answer. They have worst customer service. Someone needs to get fired. Lazy MF's!!

A little slow, but it's a government agency, and they do more than just 1 thing. The fees are pretty fair for everything. But sometimes you might have to call to check on stuff like background, apps, or payments and stuff.

These people are inexcusably rude and unprofessional. Call for yourself and see what happens. Average wait time is well over 1 hour to have somebody at BSIS will tell you they dont know what to do or they will just hang up on you. They take your money and then place your application or renewal into a state of limbo. Renewals for firearms will most likely expire prior to the approval date and you will lose your job.

The most absolute worst service ever. I missed out on four great jobs because these people are taking forever with my guard card application. If you want to get your card in a timely manner go through the company you would like to work for dont go through them you will only end up wasting money and having to search for a different job.

so for 1 full years now, bsis cashed the renewal fees on my licenses but they dont update the system on my new permits!!! what kind of professionalism is this? should i wait more time? or do i need more patient? i have just few emails rolling the number over and over with dam answers, and dont response on any emails. I heard congress will investigate this.

Mixed bag, first girl...sucked (Zero Stars) African American lady was nasty. She got it all wrong, referred me to other numbers couldn't wait to get me off the phone DMV style employee, I called her for help but was inconveniencing her by being alive. The worst of the time punching slobs. Second gal Laura (unkn ethnicity) rocked (5 Stars+1)! She was so good it gave me hope for the future calls. I actual got off the phone smiling.

Renewed my guard card, never received hard copy. Notified BSIS they stated they sent one to the address of record. Stated never received it. They said I have to pay for a replacement due to they don't issue them.

I have been down to the facility 4 times already because. Trying to get anywhere with. The security renewal in a timely manor is next to impossible. Its 300 miles round trip. The rules are really vague and mailing is not going to get you far. The employees try to help but they overlook some things just like me!! I didn't sign the x in the box for criminal record. And asked to make sure all was in order. Well she missed it too. Now I have to go all the way back again .. Hopefully I'm not going to lose all my money its been 4 months and I have a p.o. box because I move all the time and I'm bad at checking mail. I have to work 2 jobs so I can barely survive in silicon valley. Now what?? Frustrated ? Slightly ... ?Btw the p.o. box not checking was my fault.. Just so darn frustrating dealing with this system.. The employees are trying there best.

I have been waiting for over six months to get my PPO license. I have called many times to check my status and nobody seem to know anything. When you call you wait for over thirty minutes and when they do answer they have a habit of disconnecting you. They need help .

What a joke. They cashed my check 3 months ago for my exposed firearm permit. They told me today that it won't be processed until late December. That means it will have taken 4 months. I will be out of work for the extra month it takes for the paid state employees to do their jobs. It is time for me to contact my state assemblywoman and senator. So sad to live in a state that is so poorly run.

This place is such a joke. I’ve been trying to get my exposed firearm since November of last year. They don’t like to help out at all. While not helping you at all, some of the representatives also like to hang up on you when your on the line with them. For a place that attempts to try to help us out they really like to stress everyone else. This place needs to be re done and do a brand new mass hiring to people who actually give a damn. I hope they know that people who need there licenses done are depending on it to be a breeze cause who know how long your job can wait until they give you the boot for not having a simple thing like this done.

Nice and Helpful people however this agency is completely mismanaged, like most state agencies, the state needs to to a look at how it is operated and staffed, When you call in they tell you that they are extremely behind, Currently it is taking 10 to 12 weeks for processing to add a caliber and a replacement permit with the new caliber added. 10 to 12 weeks for a person with an existing current firearm permit?

I received my BSIS guard card over a year ago and just renewed a couple weeks ago the process was straightforward and simple I'm not sure why people are having a hard time maybe it's the pandemic but you have to be patient there is a waiting period you can get a number online just be patient I don't think I waited more than 30 days.

They marked my firearms permit as deficient and said didnt show my instructor a valid proof of citizenship. Apparently a certifcate of live birth isnt proof of citizenship. (The guy didn't know that, that is a borth certifacte.) When you call they always hang up on you, impossible to get ahold of anyone once they tranafer you.

Worst customer service ever, I was on hold for more than 45 minutes and when they finally picked up nobody answer and they hang up. I called again and I'm was on hold for more than an hour, the person who answer my call was rude and not willing to help. These people don't have a clue what they are doing.

I sent my renewal for my guard card with a check and waited. After a few weeks I called the number listed and left messages. I have called 5 to 6 times a month since August and have left messages. I have been assured that I would get a phone call but to date I have not received nothing. My check was cashed and I have not received my guard card and I was informed that I have been cancelled because the time was lapse. I want my money back if I am not going to get my guard card. I have never experienced such bad treatment and I feel like I have been discriminated against. I want a refund. Is this how government is conducting business, they take your money and refused to give you what you paid for. Have the decency to give me a refund or give me my guard card

Don’t even bother calling. Today is Tuesday, April 27, 2021. All I wanted was to speak to someone to help me log into my breeze account and I gotta tell you I’m disappointed. I’ve been in the phone since 10am and have spoken to one person who promptly hung up on me. I’ve been calling and been on hold since. It is now 2:50pm and I am still on hold. Sadly there is nothing more I can do.

In February I got stating my card is going to be suspended for non payment of child support, but I'm current. In April they were supposed to release it. That never happened. I spoke child support, and Consumer Affairs and it was was released, and my card was active again. Now I get another letter saying that my card is being suspended again for the same reason. This does not make any sense! You are about to keep me from working over your screw ups!

I went to pay for my armed renewal and could not be more pleased with the staff who assisted me. What a great lady who was pleasant and professional. I don't understand why anyone would have a problem at this location on Market street across from the Coke factory. Walking in the security guard had me sign in and directed me to the proper location.
