DO NOT trust this man with your face. (Dr Kwak is a surgeon but he is NOT an artist.) I'm very very unhappy with the result, I've been left with a crooked nose, deviated septum, uneven nostrils, a tip so high you can see up my nostrils and only able to breath out of one nostril and still have pain around the tip since surgery over 1 year ago.. His bedside manner is impeccable and his team are friendly, which makes you want to give him your money... But, once the surgery has been done and paid for, he'll refuse to fix any corrections Or mistakes he has made during surgery. (With my nose there is a lot) Really shocked and upset by the whole experience ... And have spent the last year feeling depressed when ever I look in the mirror. My nose looked better before he touched it... I only wanted more definition on my bridge, instead he decided to change the whole nose, making it crooked and the tip lifted so far up I can see up my nostrils. Very very unhappy, would not recommend him at all. *Save your money, do your research and find someone better that knows how to do their job properly.* He assured me during a many follow up appointments that if there were areas of concerns or need for improvement he would be happy to do so after 1year, I had been updating him on a monthly basis, as it was clear from day two after surgery the shape was not right and I wasn't happy.. He assured me as it healed it would look better. It did not. He then assured me any issues I wasn't happy with he would fix or improve after 1year as we spoke about the irregularities early on and we agreed there was room for improvement and discussed during the year healing process what could be done to amend these. *When I returned at 1year mark for the final consultation to discuss a plan to fix these imperfections, his demeanour changed he became aggressive and man handled my nose causing me to jump back in pain, he then point blank refused to do any touch ups (which he had previously agreed to) and instead suggested I go elsewhere **He had retaken a photo of me minutes beforehand of my nose from the side and asked me to follow him into his room a few minutes later... (I thought this was odd but I agreed) Then when he showed me the pre-surgery consultation picture we had agreed on a year ago, he had doctored it using photoshop minutes before to add my current crooked nose onto the the original image we had previously agreed then attempted to deceive me and make me believe that poor result I have it what I had agreed on!?!? I told him that was not the image we agreed on and nor was that the result I agreed on.. He insisted it was... I then pulled up the original pre-surgery picture we had agreed on my phone that he had sent me and showed him. He was speechless.. And in a panic he started closing down the images he had just doctored on his computer that he had attempt to trick me with... As he was doing this, the original image we had agreed on popped up! And I said 'there it is, that's what we agreed on Dr Kwak' he didn't know what to say... he then became agitated When I challenged him with the consultation image we had agreed on prior to surgery and how my nose now looked nothing like the image we had agreed on and paid for. **He calmly said "I changed my my mind during surgery"... "I decided the asthethic you wanted wasn't going to look good" ... I was so shocked and wasn't sure whether to cry to throw up... I asked him what the point of the consultation was, if he wasn't going to listen to the patient .. (He didn't answer) I left shortly afterwards in shock and upset, having been fooled and trusting Dr Kwak with my face. Its terrifying to think that he just went freestyle on my face while i was unconscious... makes me sick. I don't care about the cost as I would've paid him NOT to touch my face if I'd known. This surgeon should be struck off and stripped of his licence for what he has done and im sure it's not the first time and feel sorry for his other patients he may also have done this too. *DO NOT USE THIS SURGEON*

Dr. Kwak performed a septal perforation repair and reconstruction on me and the results were amazing! Not only that but he and his staff were very caring, warm and empathetic. Dr. Kwak was very thorough in explaining all aspects of the procedure and patiently answered every question I had. I would highly recommend Dr. Kwak to anyone who wants or needs any facial surgery. AMAZING. I’m not one to write reviews, but I must. First off, Dr.Kwak has operated on many people I know and they all look absolutely amazing. Dr.Kwak is literally an artist when it comes to surgery. Not only that, everyone who works in the office...the receptionist, manager, nurses, etc, are the kindest, most understanding people I have ever met in a medical setting! I had a personal situation and when I say they value the patient more than anything else, I truly mean it. I can not remember Dr.Kwak’s wife’s name for the life of me but I have to mention her as well. She was in the office when my friend and I were there and she was so understanding and kind to us. My friend felt extremely comfortable throughout the entire experience. Dr.Kwak just wants to see his patients happy. I am so happy to have met such a genuinely kind Doctor. If you are someone who wants surgery or a procedure done, go to Dr.Kwak. You will get treated like the king or Queen you are! Not only that, you will come out looking AMAZING. P.S , my friend got lip and chin injections. Dr.Kwak and his team educated us on the different types of injections and made sure my friend chose the right one for her. We left knowing almost everything that has to do with fillers,haha. She came out looking great. Thank you for the great experience.

When I was looking to get surgery (rhinoplasty/sept opal sty done I did a ton of research on which doctor I wanted to choose. I’m SO happy I chose Dr. Kwak. Not only is he and his work beyond outstanding, his staff are outstanding as well. They all make you feel so comfortable with the entire experience and they are all so helpful. Let me just say, Dr. Kwak is by far the best plastic surgeon I’ve been too. His bedside manner is impeccable! He made me feel so comfortable from the beginning of the visit to the end. I had many horrible experiences with other plastic surgeons in getting fillers for my lips so you can imagine how nervous I must of been when I came into Dr. Kwaks office. Amazing experience getting my first cool sculpting procedure. I met with Stephanie and she was amazing and made me feel really comfortable. She explained everything in detail and also did the procedure which makes everything even more comfortable. The applicator pinched for the first couple of minutes but after that it's fine. I actually feel asleep during the second session :) ESK plastic surgery is amazing. I actually also see Dr.Kwak for my sinus issues and just booked my sinus procedure (which I've been procrastinating about) right after the cool sculpting cause I felt comfortable with Dr. Kwak with his way of explaining everything. I am 4 months post blepharoplasty (eye bag surgery). Dr. Kwak did an amazing job with my under eyes. My heavy eye bags that I have been dealing with since my early 30's are completely gone! Results are amazing. My eye bags got worse each year and became very apparent when I turned 40. Fillers were quick fix to mask the problem, but they left my eye looking puffier. I had to do something about it. I had a consultation with Dr. Kwak and I completely trusted him to perform blepharoplasty on me. He understands my asian facial structure and what needed to be done to make my under eyes smooth and bag free! The surgery was relatively quick, and I recovered in less than 2 weeks. No-one knew I have anything done. Dr. Kwak is extremely skillful and meticulous with his hands and made sure you got results, and.. I did. I am extremely happy with my bag-free eyes. I am so incredibly thrilled to have found Dr. Kwak and his amazing team. For most of my life, I have had functional breathing and sinus issues. On top of it, I suffered an injury to my nose where it was fractured in two places, but I was unable to get it fixed because of being pregnant with my daughter. I have also always been scared to have anyone touch my nose and face because I work as a professional model in New York and didn’t want to look drastically different. However, over time the fracture really became more noticeable, and I kept noticing in photos how bent and crooked it looked. Most importantly, what really made me seek treatment after so many years were my sinuses that were so bad that they were making my headaches almost unbearable. I also had a fully deviated septum, large turbinates and full valve collapse (when you’re nostrils cave in when you breathe) so breathing, especially during exercise was very difficult for me. I basically couldn’t breath out of the left side of my nose at all! I knew I wanted to find a surgeon who was primarily focused on faces and noses. I knew I should find a surgeon who is an ENT who could fix my breathing and sinus pain, who is also a board certified facial plastic surgeon to fix the breaks in my nose. I live in Connecticut, and I couldn’t find anyone who matched this criteria. In New York, on the internet, I was able to find several. I ended up visiting my top two choices, Dr. Kwak and another surgeon. After meeting Dr. Kwak I knew I didn’t need to look any further. He was so thorough and helpful during my very first meeting with him, fully scoping my nose (which the other surgeon didn’t do), and telling me about all of my various issues. Needless to say, I ended up choosing Dr. Kwak, and I’m so happy that I did! My nose looks incredible, after 5 weeks I have minimal swelling and I look exactly like myself but so much improved because I know longer have hideous fractures in my nose. And most importantly, I can breathe better than I ever have in my life. On the day after the surgery, when he removed the packing, for the first time ever, air entered my nostril on the left side! Additionally, my migraines have drastically reduced - it really seems like a miracle. He’s so incredibly talented, kind and knowledgeable. The staff at Dr. Kwak’s office was also over the top impressive. The nurses were so caring and patient, even helping me through my difficulties with general anesthesia. And the billing and front office staff could not have been more accommodating and helpful. They were so flexible with scheduling and amazing about getting insurance to cover my surgery (one other office I saw on Park Avenue couldn’t be bothered with dealing with insurance, even for the true functional problems I had). Overall, all I can say is trust the reviews you read about Dr. Kwak and his team. It’s all true, he really in incredible! I’m so glad I trusted my heart and chose him to fix me. - Amanda

I could not be happier with my decision to do a lip lift with Dr. Kwak! The look is so natural as if I had no work done! The benefit of having a more permanent fuller look to my lips without having to continuously refill them, seemed like a no brainer! For years, I have been self conscious about my lips to the point of not buying/ wearing lipstick. Now almost 4 months post surgery, I feel so confident with lipstick on! The surgery itself was so quick as it was about 1.5 hours long. Dr. Kwak and his staff make sure that you are as comfortable and relaxed as possible before, during and after the procedure. The recovery process involved little to no pain, just some minor swelling to my lips. After about 1-1.5 weeks post-op, I felt great getting back to my social life. If you are debating filler or surgery, highly consider a lip lift with Dr. Kwak !

First of all his office is immaculate and stunning. The staff was extremely friendly and made me feel very comfortable. Dr.Kwak has a very discerning eye. His attention to detail was impressive. I noticed he had really beautiful art work in his office and after speaking to his staff about the art work it all started to make sense. I was referred by a colleague a couple months ago to Dr. Kwak when I wanted to try lip fillers. This was the first cosmetic procedure I've ever had so I was quite nervous. I did my research about lip filler online and was expecting bruising and swelling but to my surprise I had ZERO bruising and only very minimal swelling. If I could give Dr. Kwak 10 stars, I would give him 20! I had lived with a deviated septum for 45 years! The whole right side of my face and nose drooped downwards. Breathing was always difficult, and cosmetically, well, I just looked weird. Whatever. I lived with it. It wasn't until I had a sinus lift for an upper molar implant that I needed to fix the deviated septum, as breathing became even more labored. At the same time, I wanted to correct the droopy look for cosmetic reasons. However, I didn't want to look like a totally different person. I wanted to look like me, but with a natural, better look. I never had any type of surgery; so, I was very nervous about everything from infection to deformity. Dr. Kwak was so professional, kind and reassuring. At end of my initial consultation, I felt very comfortable and confident that he was going to do a great job. And he did! I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER!!! The droopiness was corrected, the tip and nostrils were symmetrical and balanced to fit the contours of my face. Because of his accuracy, the imbalance of my whole face was fixed. Yet, the change was natural and subtle. Not only is Dr. Kwak a superb surgeon, he is an artist. I couldn't be happier, and I love the outcome. AND! He was totally honest about what was needed and what wasn't. He didn't push this and that in addition to the rhinoplasty. He is a doctor with true integrity, which made me trust him more. The fact that he specializes in facial plastic surgery made me trust him even more. It reflects the level of expertise, instead of a cafeteria/buffet style of practice that does everything from rhinoplasty to breast augmentation, to liposuction to butt lifts and etc, etc. The final verdict? Perfect, perfect, perfect! As I age further, I am definitely going back to Dr. Kwak, as I am confident that he will make me look youthful, and not like the cat lady! UPDATE #1: I got a Botox treatment recently. Dr. Kwak told me that I didn't need it right now, but he was patient and kind and listened carefully to my concerns, why I wanted to get it, and what I was hoping to get out of it. Dr. Kwak is truly an artist and a great doctor. He is gentle, observant deliberate and takes great care about what he is doing. HE REALLY RESPECTS HIS PATIENT'S FACE. I watched so many YouTube videos when doing my research, and some of the doctors on the videos worked so fast, without planning. They were overly and inappropriately confident about their skills to the point where it seemed negligent. I was terrified about the idea of having needles being stuck in my face! However, Dr. Kwak's skills are so fantastic that I felt absolutely NO pain! Getting dental anesthesia is far more painful - honestly, I'm not exaggerating! No droopy eyes or Mr. Spock look. UPDATE #2!! As I got older, I really wanted to get rid of the laugh lines and bags under my eyes, but I was freaked out by watching YouTube videos. I sat down with Dr. Kwak, and he explained the different types of fillers, how it is administered, etc. He told me that I looked fine, and that I could hold off on it for a bit longer... but I wanted to do it. I just kept looking more and more tired and older. The more sleep I got, the more tired I looked. So, I got Restylane filler in my laugh lines on a Thursday. I was expecting a lot of pain, swelling, bruising and bleeding. It was not the case at all! In fact, I thought that it had even stung less than the Botox! When I got home, there was some swelling (no bruising at all) that went down significantly the NEXT day. So, on the next day, I went back and got fillers in my tear troughs. These are generally more painful than the laugh lines, but Dr Kwak was so gentle that all I felt was the discomfort of the initial sting, but that was it. There is obviously some swelling, but no bruising. I didn't need to ice it, or take any pain medications. Perfect! BTW, The staff! Simply amazing! Very professional, friendly and supportive. They make you feel at home, but not in a phony way. Very sincere.

On 2015 via Zocdoc I chanced upon Dr.Edward Kwak's page. His illustrious biography & educational writings on the "Real Self discussion" & his mindful blog immediately struck my readership attention. Dr.Kwak has enhanced multitudinous of lives (including soldiers) by giving them an opportunity to live their lives without shame,bias,stigma,etc. Dr.Kwak embellishes patients with his majestic quality work. He is crowned with being ultra-efficacious, refined with a composed persona & by having a competent deific adroitness. When silent for a moment it is as if he perceives in a nonjudgmental manner. On October 2015 I went to his previous 2nd office at 30 Central Park South where the registrar was serviceable. Dr.Kwak entered his office & we spoke in private. He has a charming personality as an Edwardian distingue. Dr.Kwak was most charitable as he held the hand mirror upright towards me as I spoke. He was so obliging that when I asked, he was going to present to me the body surgeon & recommendations if I needed for the future. On May 2016 even though Dr.Kwak was occupied when I called , his secretary managed to get him on the telephone for me. He was decorous when I explicated the reasons I tardied for my Botox. He told me that "we would be glad to have me back" On February 8th,2017 I arrived at his savory location at 737 Park Avenue where a porter signaled to me where 1D was & a federal express worker walking towards there walked with me around the block. When Dr.Kwak entered the office we conversed in private. He greeted me with a handshake & looked straight at me declaring that a year has passed! He questioned me which area of my face he would work on today & I pointed. He replied that 5 injections would be applied to the glabella region. His countenance has calculation,learnedness & supportiveness. When he had injection on hand & was contemplative, I told him I would help by partitioning my hair bangs in half away from injection site. For the first shot he said "1,2,3.." & injected. Continuously he injected the other four with decisiveness (some shots felt sharp while others not felt). Before completing the fifth final injection he stopped & I nodded my head for him to continue but he responded "I can't you are..." (he meant bleeding a bit) & he quickly used a gauze to clean site & fulfilled the fifth. Few blood dripped & he exerted pressure between my eyebrows with a gauze for seconds. He told me how I felt. I replied I was a little lightheaded (numb) & I asked "So, is this it? I can walk outside just like this?" he answered "No, you can stay for awhile." I asked him if I could do acupuncture since I had that appointment right after & he said "on your face?" I replied "No, on my body." He informed me "neither to lower my head nor do any exercise,activities for 24 hours." He said it takes about a week to see effects. He was mannerly to hand me back (due to botox) my purse & folder which was laying on the floor. I told him I would be his regular client in the future. I said how the building 737 the "37" is my 2nd favorite number & it is lucky. On the hallway he stated "is there anything else I could do for you?" I asked if botox wears off in several months & he nodded yes. I followed his instructions & ate bringing plate near face, tablet computer towards face,etc. I could feel slight discomfort & numbness. After 24 hours less intense. Several days the skin appeared smoother. Dr.Kwak's work is enchanting,breath-taking. He is a creator of disguise. I will update this review with diverse procedures in the future. Dr.Kwak has a distinction of prodigious eminence in his work. His Magnum Opus, open sesame is that he brings a better life to his patients just like a modern version of Pygmalion.

I had revision rhinoplasty with Dr. Kwak about a month ago. The surgery went very well. Surprisingly, I didn’t get any bruised at all. Scar tissues heal very quickly. I always have the best experience with Dr. Kwak.

These reviews are *everything* after much research I came across Dr. Kwaks practice. I read carefully through many reviews before I made my ultimate decision to work with him and his team. I went to see the doctor for an otoplasty. It failed 3 times. Dr. Kwak actually had me scheduled for 4th attempt and I showed up at the appt and declined and just had the old stitches removed because they were irritating my skin. He said I was an anomaly. If I was an anomaly, he should've done his research by the second failed attempt to figure out another approach to make it successful an otoplasty, and not do the same procedure THREE times and attempt the fourth saying it'll hold by the fourth attempt. I never went back despite him saying I should come back when I had time for him to stitch my ear for the 4th time. I just wasted my hard earned money.

My surgery required significant grafts to make my nose taller and longer. The recovery process was as Dr Kwak explained prior to surgery. With daily changes seen the first month and slower (sometimes painstakingly slow changes occurring along the tip and side of my nose the next few months). As explained prior to surgery, there were going to be good days and frustrating days during the recovery. As neurotic as I am, I constantly called or emailed with any issue I found. Despite how frequent I called, I never got the sense that Dr Kwak or his staff were bothered. I've been to esk facial plastic surgery at least 6-7 times for botox, restalyne and radiesse injections. I've always been very pleased with the results of chin augumentation and others . Unfortunately disappointed with my procedure. After lots of research I picked this doctor. But my procedure "filler" was not at all what it was supposed to do. The injections to begin with was very painful even after topical anesthetic. The filler was not massaged so now it is a line of bumps on my cheek, the jowl line filler has moved up on the sides of my chins, lip filler is inside the lip. So the end result is my cheek does not look any better but worse, lip injection is useless, my injection site still hurts after a month later. Don't know whether he hit my cheek bones too deep. I don't know why.... but I am so sorry I wasted thousands of dollars for this!

Interviewing plastic surgeons can be a very arduous and time consuming process. With each surgeon promising the sky and back, it can be very difficult to sift out the proper surgeon. Trust me, after visiting with 5 plastic surgeons I think I have gained some insight in the process. I had two procedures done at this office, the first was the Halo laser. I’d been battling discolouration and large pores with excessive amounts of concealer for as long as I can remember. The ENT advised me that i had structural issues with my nose and referred me to Dr Kwak. Dr Kwak took time to thoroughly explain me my problems. He recommended surgery. Thoughout my care i felt comfortable under Dr Kwak's care. After a month out I have notice improvements in my sleep and energy levels. Glad I met Dr Kwak.

This is a review for Dr. Edward S. Kwak's line of skincare products (ESK MD). I don't write a lot of product reviews. I tend to try products that everyone has already reviewed, so I can feel confident that most people have had good results. However, word needs to get out about the ESK MD skincare line. How did I come across ESK MD? My family, including my mom and my sister, have both gone to Dr. Kwak for face-related procedures. He did such a wonderful job for them both that when they discovered he had his own skincare line as well, they had to try them. The products they tried did not disappoint - they gave me some to try for myself. Let me explain a bit about myself first. I am a 28-year old Asian woman with sensitive skin, prone to both breakouts and allergic reactions, as well as excessive dryness in the wintertime. For recreation, I enjoy more rugged-type sports that expose my skin to the elements. Such as snowboarding in the winter and hiking in the summer. I basically look for products that find a solid balance between gentle yet effective. ESK MD products reach that balance. My skin feels protected, soft, and nourished, despite the inner conditions of my body and the outer conditions of the environment. The Chamomile Facial Cleanser is the most soothing face wash I have ever used. It not only cleanses, it relaxes you after a long day. The Kindest Serum is much like the cleanser, in that it has that same silky feel and relaxing scent. it absorbs quickly and is lightweight - no need to wait for it to dry before applying moisturizer! The Instant Kind moisturizer has a thick, luxurious richness. As soon as you dispense onto your fingertips, you get the sense that it will provide some deep moisturization and nourishment. What's neat though, is that as soon as you start applying it to your face, it absorbs just like a cloud. Yet it's not watery; you still feel the rich effects of a thicker cream. I use the above three products morning and night along with the Kind C Spray multiple times a day with great results. I might participate in rugged outdoor activities, but you couldn't tell by my face! (The Kind C Spray is just a nice, refreshing spray that you can put on before applying any facial products and throughout the day for refreshment. Most skincare companies have a spray these days - I like this one because I like using full sets of products and I like the idea of getting Vitamin C onto my skin.) Finally, the Kind Multi-task SPF is my favorite sunscreen of all time. For everyday usage. I do have to use a stronger sport sunscreen if I am going to be intensely in the sun. But for all the other days, this is THE sunscreen of choice. It is lightly tinted with an all-purpose shade that is meant to match most skin tones. Quite honestly I wish I knew what the SPF amount was, but I'm assuming at least SPF 15, and I feel good about putting on sun protection in general every day. This sunscreen, despite being tinted, still manages to absorb in like nothing else. Think of the way your favorite moisturizer or foundation melds with your skin. That is the texture of this sunscreen. Not only that, it is gentle, relaxing, and does not burn my eyes with chemicals when my contact lenses are in. It is basically an "enjoyable" sunscreen experience. Well, this concludes my first products review. I hope you get as much out of trying it as I have. I love the ESK MD skincare line. I will continue to use it for as long as it keeps treating my skin and face this well. Thanks for reading.

Amazing doctor! I had a revision rhinoplasty and my deviated septum fixed by Dr.Kwak almost a year ago. I had a horrible 1st rhinoplasty with another surgeon in NYC and was so unhappy with the results. I decided to do a lot of research and after visiting many doctors, I decided on Dr. Kwak. During the initial consultation, he was so patient with me and explained everything in detail about the possible outcomes and recovery. It would be a long road to get my breathing back to normal but it was a success! The surgery couldn't have gone more perfect and I love my new nose. So thankful that I found him. The staff was so tentative and warm, held my hand every step of the way. They did not make me feel uncomfortable for asking a million questions. Truly a great office. From the moment you walk into the office there is such a calm vibe. Dr. Kwak reassured me that going through with surgery is my choice and there was no pressure in making any decision. Dr. Kwak and his staff made me feel right at home. I had already gone for a nasal surgery previously, and the surgeon I worked with didn’t successfully fix my problem. I was extremely nervous, going for surgery number two. I couldn’t breathe at all on one side of my nose, and I had an awful deviated septum. I had trust in them from the second I walked in the door. Dr. Kwak thoroughly explained what was happening and how he can fix it. He was very kind and caring, and really made me feel like I actually mattered. I felt that he cared more about helping me than he did about acquiring another client. He explained what had appeared to go wrong with my previous surgery - never talking badly about the previous surgeon, and never making me feel uncomfortable about the situation. He was confident in his ability to help me from the start, and honestly it made me feel less hopeless. He assured me that my quality of life would improve after surgery - and so far he’s absolutely right! It has only been 2 weeks since my surgery, and I feel that I am breathing better than I have in the last 9 years since my last surgery. He sets extremely realistic expectations from start to finish, and his staff is more than willing to help the patients in any way they can. The office is very zen/spa like, and there is not one unhappy face in there. They barely had to ask my name, they all had a pretty good idea about who I was - which made me feel even more comfortable. They greet you with happy energy, and you leave feeling cared for. I asked a million questions during the process, and not once did I encounter someone that was impatient, or hard to deal with. I’m a handful - more like a ball of anxiety - and they knew exactly how to take care of me, making me feel comfortable. Dr. S (I don’t want to misspell, but the anesthesiologist!) was also amazing. He called me and introduced himself before my surgery, and followed up with me the night of my surgery. He was a very humorous guy, in the most professional way. He also contributed to lessening my anxiety about the surgery. Dr. Kwaks office continuously reached out and followed up with me before and after my surgery. Considering I was put under, I think that kind of attitude is really important when it comes to bedside manor. I felt right at home with everyone, and my family did as well. I highly recommend this team for anyone looking for a realistic, trusting doctor who CLEARLY knows exactly what they’re doing. I never felt like a bother, and never had to wait forever for a response. They’re on top of their game in so many ways, and I believe Dr. Kwak and his staff are a RARE FIND!
