Was a good experience there with Dr.Alam. I didn't have to wait long to be seen which was nice since I was prepared for a long wait. Dr.Alam listened to my concerns about my moles and was compassionate. The surgeon Dr.O'Malley was great and made me feel comfortable as she performed my incisions. Would feel comfortable coming back when I have a concern again.

I had my first appointment, ready to wait the two hours as explained due to high patient ratio, and I waited 3 minutes, they were very kind, quick and explained everything for my biopsy and I felt very comfortable. Very happy with this office

Terrible communication which effected my medical issues repeatedly. I spoke to them eventually to attempt at resolving & so the issues did not continue which did not work. Unfortunately I’m at their mercy as I cannot take my business elsewhere. The email they provide does not get responded to in a timely manner, the phone number provided goes directly to an automated response without the ability to connect to someone & it directs you to the email. They state that there are “hundreds of calls” going through yet this number always goes directly to the automated response. (Sarcasm ahead) It’s ok, their mistake on a Friday doesn’t matter because you can wait until Monday to deal with it IF you get a call back & maybe not get the medications until Tuesday because they aren’t readily available & that is after they only prescribe you the exact amount of meds until the day you receive a renewal. Great plan!

I was warned about the incredibly long waiting time so was prepared for it. What I did not expect was the attitude by the female dermatologist, very unapproachable on the verge of being rude. I will take my hard earned taxes money elsewhere. The staff working there are nice.

How lucky the people in Barrie and surrounding areas are to have such a great Medical/Surgical Dermatology Centre here to serve them. I do love the new office/waiting room set up, the waiting periods aren't as long as was previously and it is much more comfortable if/when there does happen to be a little than longer waiting period. The Staff are very hospitable as well as very thorough while doing their job(s). It is nice to be able to ask questions and in return, receive an answer that is to be understood by us as non-medical/professional people. I do thank the Staff very much for any/all of the visits that may or may not have needed further attention.

Dr.Mahmoodi assisted my family and she’s extremely unprofessional. She wrote a false documentation after the session and lied through her teeth about a conversation that I was present for. She talks badly and judges her patients. You’re better off going elsewhere and seeing someone who takes her job seriously.

Absolutely the worst clinic I've ever been to. Was running late from traffic and trying to phone to tell them- they have a 3 minute automated voice and no option to leave a message. I called them 26 times over the course of almost 45 minutes and never got through once. Two people at the desk, no one answering the phone. Several people had been waiting for hours. All this just to get some moles looked at. Just go somewhere else.

I have been referred Dr. Alam at SimcoDerm several times myself, and at other times with my children. I was always dealt with promptly and professionally, and with positive results. We have never waited longer than 15 minutes for an appt. at her Quarry Ridge office. The secretarial and Nursing staff were always very gracious towards us, and our appointments were kindly made early morning so my children missed as little school as possible. I was always invited by Dr. Alam to return if needed, or to call with any questions or concerns I had. She is always very knowledgeable and clear with her instructions. I consider myself and my family lucky to have her as a specialist.

The doctor here doesn’t seem to know anything about eczema, I was told the only options are a mild cortisone cream or a clinical trial. I was there twice, neither time was my condition taken seriously, and neither time was I given any real advice. I think I was there for maybe 10 minutes. The doctor didn’t even look at my skin, rather she took photos and proceeded to cut me off anytime I talked about what I was experiencing. Don’t waste your time, find a different dermatologist that will listen to your concerns and take the time to address your issues. Very unprofessional.

I visited this clinic because the wait time to see a dermatologist where I live is at least a year long(Sudbury). I was very pleasantly surprized at how pleasant and helpful the reception staff were. I had been told that Dr. Alam was not that easy to talk to and while she is good at what she does, her manner can be less than friendly. Well, I found her pleasant but business like, no complaints from me!!

I've called several times this week, in morning, noon and afternoon and have left messages and yet no one has answered my calls. My messages were very clear and concise. Extremely disappointed that my health isn't taken seriously and I'm just being ignored.

I had seen the dermatologist on June 9th 2021 and had 2 spots removed June 10th 2021 and sent to be tested. I was given a phone appointment date for June 28th between 4-8pm. At 8:50 pm I emailed the clinic since that's the only communication you get from them, and told they didn't have my results in the chart and I'm now rescheduled for July 5th 2021 even thought they would be receiving my results today June 29th. Because of there mistake, I have to wait extra time to find out biopsy results or go in office and pay to have my results handed to me. This is extremely unprofessional. As someone who expressed they have medical anxiety and they won't try to accomadate a sooner appointment, it's just poor practice.

Not only these people don't answer Any phone calls, they don't even answer to your email on time. I had an appointment which I had to re book and I tried reaching them days before the appointment they emailed me back a day before the appointment asking me if I want to re book then they tell me that I have to pay a $50.00 fee for not cancelling on time!? And they tell me that am lying and I never emailed them days before..When I did!! Wow. Unbelievable.

Feb 2020 I had a large protruding mole removed from just under my right eye by Dr Byun. It was a quick simple and painless procedure. I was worried about scarring but it healed beautifully, with no signs of a scar, the skin is smooth and you would never know I had surgery...should have asked her for a bio and tuck while there lol

I got berated on the phone by one of the staff members for not coming to appointments they were making by leaving me messages on the answering machine without confirming anything with me. They made 3 of these appointments before they realized they were making appointments with no one and expecting someone to show up. So when they finally made me an appointment I arrived 15 minutes early. 2:15pm on an icy rainy day and it is 3:15... One whole hour and i haven't seen anyone. This place is the epitome of unorganized bullshit.

Wait wasn't as long as in the past and Dr Alam always knowledgeable, but daughter does seem to be having a reaction to the prescribed treatment so hopefully we get a prompt response to our issue. Would have liked written instructions rather than just verbal.

This is a busy clinic and nobody is ever just sitting around - they hustle. I've always been treated with courtesy and professionalism. My emails and phone queries have been responded to in a timely manner. If your experience is otherwise, have some patience - these folks work hard and I'm glad they are in our community doing the good work they do.

Overall a good experience. Wait time was short and consultation was positive. Only suggestion (and I see this in many doctor offices) is that the intake area does not provide privacy. I saw some neighbours in the queue ahead of me and I think they were a little embarrassed that the waiting area could overhear their name and condition. Perhaps some partitions might help.

Doctors are friendly and kind. Reception staff was not very friendly and there’s no way to leave a phone message. They also don’t answer the phone. Twice I have been accused of not sending emails, so there system is not working correctly. I hope they can rectify better customer service because I feel sorry for the great doctors and staff that I have dealt with and would like to see them again, unfortunately it’s a real Pain to get in for an appointment.

Was referred to clinic for apppontment. i was not told by my family physician about appointment until 2 days prior. This clinic called and left a VM without telling who they were, only that it was the doctors office calling and i had an appointment in 1 week. I assumed it a wrong number as they never told me who they were and from where. I then received a call from my doctor telling me 2 days before appointment I had one. It was too late to cancel my work day so I emailed the skin clinic to reschedule and to explain the misunderstanding with booking and that I didnt get a call until 2 days ago from my family doctor about the referral appointment. I got no understanding, I got attitude and told that there would be a $50.00 charge on my account due to late notice for cancellation when i do come in. I continued to explain what happened to no avail....This clinic is rude, and I definitely will not be bringing my tax money there ever and will not refer them to anyone. Especially when this was out of my control.

I can except the long wait times considering how busy the office is and the size of area in which it services, but what I am not ok with is that the office no longer will return phone calls as per its answering service and they will only respond to emails in regards to the cancellation or changing of an appointment. Well first of all the office wouldn't even reschedule my daughter and now have cancelled her October appointment as well because we asked to reschedule due to my daughter being busy with school and she could not miss. Now my daughter needs to restart her whole regiment and blood work over again and she does not do well with the blood work to a point where she passes out. So in short the long waits are acceptable, the lack of bedside manner is ok as well the visit is quick and to the point once you see the doctor as for the rest of the service there is none to speak of. Looking for another Dr. now.

The Doctor was so rude. Didn’t give me helpful or even correct information. Went to another clinic in Barrie who told me that everything that the doctor at simcoe derm told me was wrong. I recommend no one come here unless you want to be judged and treated like garbage. I would rate this place a 0 if I could.

Very experienced staff. Thank you Dr. Alam for taking your time and explaining me everything. Got an appointment the next day (!) for biopsy. Yes you have to wait but it's worth it. I feel like Im in good hands in this clinic!

Looking for dermatologist. Read the reviews and see there are alot of bad reviews. I also noticed they only respond to the good reviews. Funny because they should be looking to respond to the bad reviews, to see what they can change to be better. I'll take my business elsewhere .

Dr. Alam is very focused and is able to review and make quick decisions and therefore she does not have time to chit chat. She has a very high volume of patients simply because people have said that the other dermatologist lacks tact and politeness but makes sound treatment decision and advice. Her reception staff are very supportive and helpful and will try their best to get you the earliest appointment. I implore everyone to understand that with this heavy patient load and so many skin conditions, it is natural for people towards the end of the day to get delayed simply because each extra minute with each patient prior adds to your waiting. Don't you think that it is worth the wait if she is trying to save someone prior to you from a deadly problem? My hats off to Dr. Alam for doing what she does well! Thank you Dr. Alam for your treatment, help, knowledge and being focused - BRAVO to you and your support staff!

Over 2 days I had 3 spots removed by Doctor Hariri and Doctor Byun. Assisting was nurse Shell. The procedures went very well and I felt I was in the best of hands. They were professional and friendly and comforting . All my questions and concerns were answered and I left with clear instructions what to expect and what to do during the following days. My wait times to be seen were minimal. The only negative issue with SimcoDerm is the inability to contact them by phone.
