I will start by saying that the staff were excellent, and Dr. Vigna was polite and professional to a degree. He took a moment to ask about my history and work, and also to explain what an impacted wisdom tooth is. All reasonably normal, and this being the last of all my wisdom teeth to need extraction, I am familiar with the procedure from the perspective of an informed patient.I am not a dental surgeon, to be clear. After a short discussion of what the procedure involved, he informed me that I would have an IV general anesthesia, and require all the pre and post care related to that. (Driven by someone else, short fasting period pre-surgery, 3 days of bed rest following.) I asked if there were any outstanding complicating factors about the extraction, and told me 'no', it would likely be about 10 minutes to complete barring anything unexpected.. I then asked to have the extraction done under a local anesthetic, explaining I had neither the time nor money for that kind of thing, nor could I afford the time off work if the case wasn't complicated. Dr. Vigna refused, saying that the procedure was too uncomfortable for the patient (!), and it must be done under general. Also, that they only do wisdom tooth extractions on Wednesdays. Total cost: $163.00 consultation fee, proposed cost for surgery (including anesthetic ~$1500) + 3 days lost wages. So, I went to another dental surgeon for a second opinion, thinking there must be a better option. As I had expected, the next doctor I saw also said the extraction was uncomplicated and did not require any radical methods. However, he offered me the options of a local anesthetic only, local anesthetic + pill for sedation and also general anesthetic. The choice, he said, was mine, based on my level of comfort and ability to tolerate the short period of discomfort while conscious. Total cost: $64.00 consultation fee, $478 for extraction itself. They were able to book me on a Thursday or Friday afternoon as well, so +/- 1 days lost wages. No regrets there; the extraction was quick, relatively comfortable, and while I did need to work from home for a day, I was able to to that and not miss a days wages. I imagine the surgical services at this office are a high caliber, but if you prefer to have minor procedures done with local rather than general anesthetic, consider your options, and beware the very high consultation fee to find out.

I have been going here for years. Dr. Vigna really knows what he is doing. He talks to me to calm me down. He does everything he can to make me feel comfortable which can be very hard at times. He is quick and PAINLESS!! Seriously, i walked into the room sat in the chair got my freezing waited 10 minutes for the freezing to kick in and he came in for 5 mins if that and it was done! I didnt feel a thing! Healed up immaculate!! My Fiancé and I will NOT go anywhere else! Such great staff also! #1 oral surgeon in our eyes!!! Thanks St. Catharines Oral Surgery. You guys rock!!

Staff was wonderful, but Dr.Vigna is a charlatan, and a crook. I went in for a wisdome tooth extraction. He informed me that the tooth next to the extracted tooth was infected and needed to be removed as well, but as I was not insured and paying out of pocket, I refused. I never did and still to this day never had any issues with the tooth he insisted jeeded to be extracted. When I returned for an emergency wisdom tooth extraction, I was xrayed, and I asked why he insisted I have my perfectly fine tooth extracted last time I saw him. He did not reply to that line of questioning, while looking extremely uncomfortable and upset he quietly informed me he would not operate on me. After discussing my experience with several people on my circle in Niagara, I discovered many people with similar experiences, some not so fortunate enough to have retained their teeth. BEWARE!

Had a problem with a wisdom tooth and had been referred. They got me in same day even though they were busy which I really appreciated. Dr Vigna was kind and professional and got the job done without any issues. I am so happy. No problems afterwards and i will be going back to get the rest of them out. I'm happy with the service of this dentist it was very fast and painless having my wisdom teeth taken out but I think that the nurse staff could be more friendly, the receptionist was very friendly and kind. The doctor was ok but can also improve on his demeanor, Overall it was a good experience.

I’m very happy I chose to come here. If you’re worried about getting your wisdom teeth removed and want to make sure it’s done properly without pain or complications make sure you come here! I got all four removed with no pain and an extremely fast recovery plus an incredibly fair price. You might be able to find someone that will do it cheaper but you get what you pay for.

I had to get two teeth pulled out and get dental implants done. Dr. Vigna is INCREDIBLE at doing mouth surgery. My first tooth was complicated and I was very nervous going into the surgery. Dr. Vigna was very gentle and it was over before i even realized it. Super quick and painless. My second surgery was scheduled about 6 month later and it was also a breeze. He installed a dental implant and it looks exactly like my teeth ( shape and colour is a perfect match). I would highly recommend Dr. Vigna to anyone who needs any kind of dental surgery. He is wonderful and his team is very polite, kind and patient.

I cancelled a different medical appointment in order to be early for my wisdom teeth being removed at this office. The administrative assistant had me update a medical form - no problem, I was early. Then she tells me that the doctor refuses to perform surgery in the way that I had been lead to believe was going to happen. Could have told me over the phone, but didn't. A ludicrous waste of time. If you have other options, consider those instead.

I received multiple dental implants from Dr. Vigna. His knowledge, expertise and care was excellent overall. My case involved the removal of multiple teeth, injection of new bone material and the installation of permanent dental implants and crowns. I recently broke my front tooth & needed it to be removed. Dr Vigna extracted my tooth and placed an implant the same day. I had zero pain afterwards. He used a digital scanner to make the final crown, which was much easier then impressions which usually gag me and are uncomfortable. Dr Vigna is very up to date and knowledgeable
