If I could leave a lower review I would. This place with held dental records which are legally entitled to you. Harassed us non stop for an overdue amount which was supposed to be cleared before any work was done. Accused both of us of being liars whenever we spoke to them in person or on the phone. When I finally found a good dentist, they assured me I didn't have cavities where smiles claimed I did. Regardless of what was said, the lady on the phone was incredibly rude. When it came to the cleaning done, they charged me for fluoride and I was never given any. Worst experience at a dental office yet and worst customer service I've ever had. More than disappointed and upset.

I just want to express my frustration after coming to your clinic. I went there to have the pain in my tooth taken away but instead I had a failed tooth wisdom tooth extraction by Dr. A. Yeh and now had more unbearable pain. Now I went to oral surgeon and my bill was $1298 & $310. I never expected this much to spend in my tooth and as well as missing work and school. The exams and xray you guys did yesterday they had to redo it here again and get charged. I wanted to address this concern and I am hoping your clinic or Dr. Yeh would cover my out of pocket bill, because I felt like it shouldn't end like this if the Doctor would took extra care to examine the xray prior to pulling out my wisdom tooth then realize he can't afterwards. This far my worst experience in dental visit. The staff are nice and accommodating but my whole experience with this failed tooth extraction was a nightmare.

Dr Kat was incredible. My 6 year old needed a baby root canal and she explained everything to us along the way and she even explained in kid friendly silly ways! After a couple of bad experiences with dentists, I was in desperate need to bring my kids in. I booked with Dr. Iyad Al-Qishawi in St Albert after reading google reviews. Oh my goodness, he's awesome! I was immediately put at ease, his chairside manner is great for kids and adults alike. Olivia his assistant was just as kind and helpful. Has an urgent dental issue with a wisdom tooth. Due to tech issues with voice messaging, it took a couple of days to get an appointment (i did have an emergency option but it wasn't that extreme) but once done I got premium service. The staff were compassionate and very professional. Overall, as good as any trip to a dentist can be.

My experience was absolutely horrible! I went in after a chipped tooth that needed a root canal, and for a general checkup. The root canal was treated first. I don't believe my mouth was completely frozen before getting the most painful injection I have ever received in my life. My face stayed numb for days, and my tooth was left rough and long. I had to immediately go back to get it fixed, and Dr Al- Qishawi seemed to be annoyed and in a rush with me. I (ignorantly) went back to receive some fillings. I was told I had 9 cavities in total, but this day only two were getting filled. They FROZE THE WRONG SIDE OF MY MOUTH! Not once did anyone apologize to me for this mistake. It's been over a MONTH and I still can't chew on that side of my mouth without extreme pain and sensitivity. Not only will my regular Dentist have to fix these "mistakes", but I was told I only had 2 cavities. Not nine. Furthermore, I was charged $30 for part of my cleaning which wasn't covered by my insurance. I was told I would be reimbursed for this, but long after a month, and a phone call and message, I've yet to hear back about it. Completely unprofessional, uncaring, and irresponsible. This is the "drive-thru" of Dentistry, where volume and money are their number 1 priority. EDIT: One of my teeth that had a cavity filled needed a ROOT CANAL. My regular dentist told me it was a horrible job. (Was in pain for weeks), and now my other tooth that received a root canal just cracked! I'm calling my lawyer and or getting the ADA involved! This quack needs to lose his license!!

This place is a money grab! My husband book an appointment to get his chipped tooth fix, went to appointment after 2 sec this dentist( Iyad Al Qishawi) looks in a hurry told to come back for NO CLEAR REASON why cant he fix it that day and charge my huaband a $80. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.. My husband should have listen to me. As i have bad experience to this place 6 years ago i have told them i just had a full xray done at my old dentist in edmonton and i just move to st albert yet they still do a full xray and charge me a full amount because my insurance will not cover it anymore i was not aware of that because they did the xray before even checking my coverage! I left there with almost $1200 bill. I dont mind paying that amount if its a worth paying for! We are for sure not coming back to this place and will not recommend this place!

Very prompt in fitting me in for a quick consultation about braces/invisalign. Dr. Yeh was very informative about what my choices are and was very thorough with the examination. He was able to give me a general idea and give me good recommendations to consider for my next step. He also referred me to a wonderful orthodontist who pretty much confirmed what he said. I will be going further and will be consulting with an oral surgeon next as my case is slightly more complex. His staff have been wonderful as I have had cleanings and tooth extractions including a supernumerary tooth done at this clinic in the past.

All my experiences over the years has been superb. I have been overwhelmed with pain but Dr. Yee has just taken care of all of the concerns with my mouth & face. I travel two hours to make sure I go to ‘smiles’. I just don’t trust anyone to give care to my face. Dr. Yee I not just trust but believe his demeanour has been incredible. You are in very capable hands with Dr Yeh. The St Albert clinic has later days open until 7pm and always makes an effort to fit me in before/ after work. I don't have dental coverage and I recently completed my university program so I couldn't afford to pay out of pocket for treatment. I did not feel rushed nor did I feel like I was being pressured into a treatment plan. Because of the attention I received I feel as tho this will be my regular dental office going forward. I'm very happy with the SMILES DENTAL TEAM. I explained some of my past good and bad experiences, explained why I need double the normal freezing and that what others might feel as a light touch or bump, I feel as pain even though I am anethecized. I've had only two appointments at the St. Albert location; one was a general assessment of what needed to be done and the other one consisted of three fillings. I only experienced five light accidental "bumps" where the metal tools accidently tapped my teeth. The dentist's and hygienists were being very careful trying hard to avoid bumping my teeth. I found all of the team members cheerful, welcoming, attentive, and courteous. They explained proceedures thoroughly, told me how long they would take, and always asked if I had any questions. I'm so happy I found them when the Kaye Clinic decided that my care was too complicated for the students to handle. Neither the dental students nor I agreed with the assessment of one professor but there was nothing we could do to change it. I was referred to the UofA hospital dental clinic and to Steve Ritch in particular. I was told that he was an experienced dentist who was known to be kind and gentle. After several visits where I had come to trust him, he proceeded to trick me. He had always before put the gel on first to somewhat desensitize where he would give me an injection. That's what I thought he was doing, but instead of gel, he stuck the syringe into the roof of my mouth in front of and on top of my front teeth; one of if not the most sensitive spots in the mouth. Predictably, I screamed as the pain tore through my body and involuntary tears poured down my face. I tried to talk to him a little later that same day after I hoped we had both had time to calm back down but he refused. I tried again a week later but he still refused. To this day he has never again shown his face to me. Even if he had explained that he wanted to try giving me the injection without the gel, I could have somewhat prepared myself for the pain and managed it better. I do hope he learned a lesson and no longer surprises anyone in such a crude and heartless manner. He also forced me to pay over $600 for a procedure that was covered on my insurance. (The insurance office was closed at that time.) He claimed that I did not have adequate proof that it was covered. He agreed to return the cash, which I needed to pay my property tax, after I had provided what he considered adequate proof. Even when I provided the proof, he refused to reimburse my $600+ and would not even meet with me or allow me to speak to him at all. Already, I can tell that the SMILES DENTAL TEAM is very different. They work hard to be above reproach and seem determined to be professional as well as kind, patient and gentle. Thank you, SMILES DENTAL TEAM for restoring my trust in my fellow human beings. I can always get an appointment within a reasonable time and a few months ago I had a major wisdom tooth emergency that they took me in for pretty much as soon as I called in! Beyond happy with my experience! The staff are all super friendly and got me in surprisingly quick to address my concerns the same day. Dr. Tan is absolutely awesome and I can’t say enough good things about this place. Highly recommend. :)

I'm a person who is petrified of the dentist. I had an emergency situation and was forced to go. The folks at Smiles handled me like a VIP. From the lady at reception to the hygiene specialist, to the dental assistant (who is actually a dentist himself) to my lovely dentist. They made me feel comfortable and put me at ease. They were upfront with all pricing as it IS December and many other financial obligations happening this month. They were friendly and managed to have me laughing by the end of the appointment. Fit me in for everything including a cleaning. All done, lickety split. WILL be returning WITH my kids. HIGHLY recommend Smiles dental group!!!

Dr Yeh is a true master! After a lifetime of fearing and avoiding dental work, I now look forward to every appointment with total calm and absolute confidence. He explains everything, details all options and is very meticulous and caring- five star service every time. Front end staff are top notch, very accommodating, sympathetic about cost concerns and work tirelessly and diligently with the insurance companies for the best possible outcomes. Assistants etc that I have encountered are very professional and equally sensitive to patient comfort.

The dental experience was great. I’m from out of town so Saturday booking are so convenient. Staff was able to book my family back to back so we didn’t have to make multiple trips. Friendly , warm people. Had a great cleaning and my insurance covered everything. I’m glad I found a great dentist I don’t have to go in debt for to have my families teeth cleaned.

I have been seeing Dr Al- Qishawi for quite some time now and visits to the dentist are always pleasant and thorough with very little wait times. I recently saw Dr. Yeh for an emergency exam that required an extraction. Everything was explained to me benefits, side effects after care etc. Dr Yeh constantly reassured me. I was super nervous and he took his time and just made the situation as comfortable as possible. I love going to this dentist because of the staff Jocelyn at the front desk is so friendly and Rolah always makes your experience that much better. Smiles fixes your smile and keeps you smiling.

Upset about my experience at this dental clinic. Got a shocking bill and I have insurance. This place is very expensive! Some examples on my bill are: dental exam $120, fluoride treatment $35, polishing $70, scaling $210. My insurance didn't' cover some of these high prices. I also had to pay $100 for a panoramic X-ray that should have been discussed with me prior to doing it! My insurance wouldn't cover this. This dental office needs to be more informative and considerate to their patients. Be your own advocate because this dental office doesn't put you first.
