Today, May 20th l went to the Eye Surgery clinic to pick up my husband after his Cataract Surgery. l suffer from depression, anxiety and ptsd, l currently have a 6 pound Yorkie emotional support animal for my well being. Today I passed the security questions from the Security guard sitting on the left side of the entrance. There was a female on the right that immediately started to question my entrance to the hospital, l explained my dog was a support animal. She continually asks me if the dog has been screened for infectious disease.....l imformed her AGAIN she was a Support animal......l ignored her and continued to the Eye Surgery clinic to pick up my husband. She followed and continued to harass me, l told her to back off and that l would be gone after picking up my husband.....she then informed me she was calling security, l told her to go ahead, and again told her to leave me alone. While waiting for my husband to come out in walks the same lady with a security guard. While he was sympathic to my issue at this point l am having difficulty speaking and breathing from the stress brought on by this Guard, l informed the Guard to keep her away from me, he complied and apologized for the way l was treated and escorted us to the hospital entrance. This was not a good day and it has been hours since getting home and l am still feeling ill........who ever is hiring these people should also train them with Canadian bylaws and rules to follow......l have never had such a horrible day......Cathy Arsenault, Miscouche PE

Not a SINGLE Doctor in sight. It seems like this hospital doesn't even have any doctors. Only a bunch of rude and arrogant nurses. I have been waiting for more than 3 hours(while my condition keeps worsening) straight and haven't got any help yet.

This hospital doesn’t even deserve 1 star rating. The poorest service; Emerge staff was hella rude especially the registration staff. I was in severe pain that I couldn’t even bear but had to wait several hours. The receptionist was busy on her phone while i asked for a nurse. She responded,”I can’t do anything, just wait”. Nobody cares how severely in pain are you. Probably they don’t understand the meaning of “Emergency”. Even India is better than here; they make u pay but at least don’t neglect your condition. Better go somewhere else than wasting time here.

My friend and me both came to ER for emergency check to this hospital twice followed up by health PEI for having severe pain in the chest possible inflammation after taking second dose of covid vaccine. Given blood samples took ECG on the first day waited 8-9 hrs to get informed shortage of Doctors will take long wait time than usual.Came back today started the procedure from beginning when asked why we need to do blood check again no answer from them.After 5 hrs of wait enquired again they need to do more blood test reports for the samples given more than 12 hrs before.And have no idea about why they keep us for waiting. I’m confused now about the word emergency ward here.What they want us to do wait and die ????

Two months ago I went to this hospital for stomach pain and internal bleeding, waited 5 hours and still have no clue what happened. Today I dislocated my shoulder and was apprehensive about going back. But, with the benefit of hindsight, replacing my shoulder alone and literally blacking out from the process was far more painless than that waiting room.

Mixed bag with this hospital. The cancer treatment centre is phenomenal. The rest of the facility however doesn't give me much confidence. Long wait times, constant MRSA issues, ect.

Extremely poor service in the name of free healthcare. Not a single doctor in sight for more than 12 hours straight in emergency room . They keep me waiting rooms. The nurses are extremely rude and arrogant. It feels like they take advantage of being the only hospital in town. It’s better to go summerside hospital if you’ve severe pain rather than coming to this place and waiting over here. 12 hours in waiting room and still waiting...

Been to the ER twice, Both for pretty serious situations, first time we waited for 6hours before deciding to return home and deal with the situation ourselves. The second time our family doctor called ahead and assured us we’d be in as soon as we got there, low and behold, hours in and still sitting and waiting. I can’t imagine what it’s like to work here either, most likely horribly understaffed and just all around a clusterf*ck. Honestly I’ll stay home and die before I visit here again thanks. Free healthcare at its finest.

My experience at the QEH Emergency room yesterday was overall a positive experience, until it was not! I waited 11 hours, and given how busy it was and the severity of our case, that was an understandable wait time. Although, Ill get right to the purpose of my post. I had an interaction with the evening receptionist at the triage registry desk, and she blew my mind with disguist. Firstly, I'd like to say I take pride in ability to be very level headed, kind, understanding, salt of the earth kind of guy: With everything I have, I'd like to comment on her impolite attitude. THIS receptionist (women) was one of the the UGLIEST forms of human being I've come across in a very long time. She demonstrated rude and patronizing remarks toward me, not to mention she left me feeling completely ridiculed. Very politely I asked; "Is my nephew (teenager) being taken care of ok"? "Is he hungry, he needs to eat somthing, we have been here for 11 hours now". Without eating or drinking a thing our entire visit. My concerns were met with complete disguist. Now, I do have compassion for nurses and individuals in this line of work and given these hard times... but, even in the face of disarray; is it that hard to be a half decent human being?

Had really bad experiance at ER facility. My wife had vaccine and had breadthing problem amd nausea problem. As soon as we reached gate she was not able to walk i was assisting her she was shouting ans the reception guy was stunned what to do. I had to tell him get her wheel chair and blanket she is getting unconcious and feeling cold and in this situation he was giving me green sticker which is low peiority. Cant they see the urgency by patients behaviour ? I had to ask for orange and register. The lady at registration stood up in front of me stating she is going on lunch someone will be here soon. I told her it is urgent but no response. After all checkup we had to meet doctor and nurse imformed up there is wait time of 10hours still we preferred to wait and doc meet us in just under 1hour. I understand there shlould be a buffer but i do not know what were they trying to do by giving this big buffer hours. I will never rely on this hostpital if they want to triage like this and never trust their patients. One of the reason i will leave pei.

I have had many and varied experiences at the QEH. The constant has been that the staff (medical, security, house, volunteers, etc.) has been professional, empathetic, and helpful. They do their best under less than perfect circumstances - doctor shortages, long hours etc. Regardless of the reason that brought me to the hospital, I always left with an appreciation and gratefulness of the caliber of the people who work\volunteer there.

Horrible hospital. I have been to the ER exactly twice in my life, and both times were over 6+ hours ending in a "did not see". Last night watched a kid with headaches and nosebleeds sit with his elderly grandparents for 6+ hours and not receive any treatment. If you're sick, do yourself a favour and drive to Summerside.

Had a c-section 2 days ago and can barely get out of bed on my own, my baby is over 10lbs which I’m not even supposed to hold & in the niccu but they switched me into a care by mother room and wouldn’t let my daughters father stay to help me with her and everything else when there is no one in the room we were switched out of.

The qeh has killed a family members child due to miss practice, and almost killed my sisters for similar reasons. Don't go here is you are expecting they won't help. A friend was in pain while pregnant waited in the waiting room for 7 hours and once tested they just confirmed she was pregnant without talking about the pain or why it was happening. I have never made a bad review and I like to support places but this place literally scares me its that bad.

the nurses are the only okay thing about this hospital. The doctors on the other had have be nothing but imposable to deal with. I have had 2 deaths due to miss practice, 1 wrong set bones. 2 statements that a family member was dying just to find it was an over prescription of a medication they prescribed. and 2 miss diagnoses of diabetes one almost leading to blindness. On the other had I had ZERO of any of my family members or friends getting a correct diagnoses or anything positive coming from this place. AT ALL COST AVOID THE QEH!!!!!!
