Dr. Forrest is great but I dont trust those nurses farther than I could throw one.

Great Dr's and Staff. Very professional all around.

I can only really give any stars because of my surgeon Dr Fay! He was great although i only so him briefly before and after the surgery. I had 4 wisdom teeth removed, i was referred by my dentist. After i had spoken with dr fay, he said a nurse would be in to go over the procedure and consent and the anesthesiologist would be in to see me as well. The nurse came in, took my straight to the waiting room, i went to pee and as soon as i got back i was taken into the OR room. I had told everyone i interacted with i had anxiety. Nobody explained anything, within a minute i was laying down and without having anything explained the anesthesiologist started an IV. I was crying hysterically over the pain of the IV and because i was terrified. As a nurse myself i was APPALLED at the nurses i met at the facility, the nurse holding the oxygen mask just watched me cry didn’t say anything. In recovery i woke up crying hysterically and the nurses kept asking “why are you crying, why are you crying”, while a nurse was trying to start a new IV on me just as i was becoming conscious. It was painful, i was having trouble breathing and couldn’t speak to advocate for myself. I let the nurses know i had anxiety, and she said “it’s all in your head, you can overcome this, the brain is a powerful” I’ve had the same RN training and i know she’s been taught mental health nursing and how NOT to speak to a patient regarding anxiety and diminish their mental health concerns. they refused to let my mother in to see me and calm me down because of how much i was crying. The nurse looked away from me trying to pass time the whole time i was recovering. Edit: After surgery there was rotting tissue left in my lower left socket, caused days of 9/10 pain where i couldn’t sleep all day or night. Each time i called the emergency line the doctors prescribed me more pain medications that i didn’t want because it didn’t address the issues i was having. The infection gave me a fever (37.8-38 degrees) and caused vomiting along with the pain getting worse up to a week after surgery. Left side of my face was hard, swollen and painful to touch and getting worse every day after surgery. After it was debrided the pain was gone within minutes. 1-2 Months after my surgery i had a sharp thing sticking out of my gum on my left upper socket. I thought it was a stitch/suture that didn’t dissolve. Much to my surprise it was a piece of tooth being pushed out of my gum over weeks-months.

Thorough, professional and terrific coordination with my Prosthodontist regarding my very complex surgery. Only downfall is they wake you up to fast, could have slept another 3 hours! ???? Angie was my RN and was awesome. Attentive, professional and comforting. Kevin Lung was my surgeon and is working wonders with the challenges my mouth presents.

Leanne Yang

Played phone tag with them for a weeks - getting voicemail despite calling them back a second later. Wish there was a better process for booking an appointment here but their customer service seems subpar according to many of these reviews as well. Would recommend asking your dentist to refer you elsewhere.

I'm confused by the negative reviews? I was taken in on short notice.... And received treatment on the same day. I required surgery for a broken jaw. I did have to wait ~1hr after my appointment time.... But, this is reasonable for ANY clinic, especially those that do surgery and have many consults a day. My surgery was ~2hrs after my consultation, and I went home shortly after. The staff, doctors and nurses have been very kind and thoughtful. Everyone has taken the time to make sure I was well educated on my procedure and recovery. Thank you all....

I can not say enough about the team at Kingsway oral surgery. Dr Lung and his staff were so comforting and knowledgeable, answering all my questions without being rushed and putting me at ease for my procedure. During these unusual times, Kingsway oral surgery were very thorough (with great attention to detail) when it comes to patient safety during covid-19 and I felt very safe having my procedure done. I highly recommend Kingsway oral surgery to any friends and family in need of the services they offer. They are the best.

Thank you from the depths of my heart:) I have had a previous bad experience with a particular dental procedure but after seeing Dr. Forrest and his team, It has restored my confidence regarding dental work and I'm so very thankful. While awakening from the IV sedation I was a little scared & confused but they were so comforting and a kind member of their team even held my hand until I composed myself. Thank you again, I highly recommend this place and hope you get the support you need:)

Surgery itself was fine. Usual Alberta dentistry of in and out and get it done. Nurses were amazing. Biggest complaint would be nice to be able to get support on weekends. I had my 4 wisdom teeth out Thursday and called their emergency line after hours and was told my clarification of after care instructions would need to wait until Monday. Glad I paid $3,500 and I’m risking infection or dry socket to wait until Monday to play phone tag with the reception desk again. Yikes.

Jo Jo Policarpio

I called in to confirm the cost for my son's scheduled surgery. The first receptionist who took my call was not friendly and was sarcastic with the cost confirmations I wad making. I then asked about the other tooth surgery which was not in my insurance evaluation cost but in their treatment plan. She was irritated that I asked her this question so she passed me to someone she called the assistant dentist where the phone just rang without any answer. I called in a second time to get further verification for my question, the receptionist who answered said she could not find the other secretary who took my call earlier as there are fifty who answered the phone in that office. She was not friendly too. She even refused to identify herself to me and hanged up on me. I called the third time and Amanda answered the phone. I told Amanda to hold on as I was taping our conversation. I explained to her my concern she made me wait for five minutes and got back to me and said that she was waiting for the insurance person to take may call. I waited another 5 minutes and got a lady named Barb on the phone. She told me that she was going to send my insurance another estimate. I explained to her that we have the same concern. We want the procedure to be successful for my son and their business. How difficult was it to entertain my concern? The professionalism is beginning to scare me.

I needed emergency surgery and they had me in within a week. The staff were all incredible and all obviously are happy in there jobs as I was treated with kindness and respect. Dr. Lung did a fantastic job.

If you guys actually want business I reccomend getting a receptionist who is more professional. She had a huge attitude and wouldn’t work with me to get an appointment and left me on hold completely forgotten and did not apologize? I have called back multiple times and keep getting told “someone will call you within 2 days to set up an appointment” and I never get the call. This has taken 2 weeks time so far and it was supposed to be an emergency procedure to be finished by now. I will be going elsewhere and other people should too!

The Urban Homesteader

Dr.Forrest went above and beyond! His whole team was outstanding. Everyone has great chair side manner, were very friendly and knew their stuff! I know how difficult my extraction was. Please see them! I had a care call that evening too. I feel very well taken care of. Thank you so much!

I just had my wisdom teeth pulled out yesterday...the procedure went fine and the recovery has been going well so far. However the wait time was much longer than expected and there was a lot paperwork to fill out, it would of been nice if some of the paperwork could be done online... aside from the wait time everything else went smoothly and I would still highly recommend this place.

Great Doctor, excellent staff. Easy to get to this location from anywhere in the city.

Sending out a BIG thank you to Dr. Davis! We are so very lucky to have not only this doctors incredible expertise in dealing with TMJ issues, but his wonderful client after care. Having dealt with serious jaw pain for many years, his ground breaking specialty training is welcome relief indeed! We highly recommend anyone suffering and in need of a superior Maxiofacial surgeon, to not hesitate in seeing this Doctor and his excellent caring team. Forever grateful! Update: March 21.2021 *If we could give TEN STARS we would! Dr. Davis and his support team continue to provide world class care. After just undergone a successful complete Bi-Lateral Temporomandibular Joint Replacement, my wife could not have been in more capable caring hands. We remain forever indebted and blessed, to experience this high level of ongoing care. Sincerely, Sandy & Dave Nette

I had an excellent experience at this clinic today. All the staff were pleasent and made me comfortable with the whole situation. As for wait times, it was no different then any other medical facility. I was seen promptly and I was explained to how long it would be, given there were no delays before me. I appreciate their kindness, it made my experience so much more tolerable.

Cannon Hewer

Horrible service, arrived 2 hours early as directed, and then was made to wait more than 4 hours to be taken in, 2 whole hours after we were scheduled. All the while starving ourselves, and the staff not properly checking waiting times. I will not be coming here again.

Terrin Dixon

I called to change the time of my appointment for the same day. I called dozens of time in which went to voicemail almost every time. I leave a voicemail regarding my request to change the time for surgery. Have yet to hear back from them and that was last week. Currently sitting in the waiting room to speak to another receptionist in which a lady had paged someone else to come speak to me. I have been waiting here a half hour. All of this to change my appointment time?!? They ask that you call a week before. I have two weeks for change to my appointment. Ridiculous

Zahir Shivji

Great surgeon. The nurse helping me after the surgery was extremely rude.

Professional, timely and great with customer and patient service and care. Highly recommend letting Kingsway handle your wisdom teeth extraction.

Dr. Lung is by far the best doctor I have ever encountered. He is so kind, friendly, and always makes me feel comfortable and informed about treatments. I first started seeing Dr.Lung when my dentist referred me to him for botox to lower my upper lip to fix my gummy smile. Dr. Lung did a great job. I decided to continue to go to Dr.Lung for this treatment, and every time I see him he always remembers me and warmly greets me, a nice change from most doctors I've encountered. I eventually needed my wisdom teeth taken out and asked my dentist to refer me to Dr. Lung. The surgery went great. All the staff that helped with the procedure from the nurses to the Anesthesiologist were all fabulous. The only slightly negative thing I have to say about this clinic is that sometimes there can be long wait times/ they are behind schedule. Overall, I would definitely recommend Dr. Lung at the Kingsway Oral Surgery clinic to everyone.

Peggy Macdonald

I want to say that Kingsway oral went above and beyond for all my procedures. I want to thank and give notice to doctor Forest and his team. The girls were very helpful and informative and didn't waste any time to get all paperwork and necessary details for my procedure. I want to thank Dr forest for a wonderful job that he did. He went above and beyond to take care of my needs and my procedure and I can't thank his team enough. I highly recommend Kingsway to anyone who is looking to have any Dental or oral surgery procedures done. I wish them all the very best in the new year thank you Doctor Forest

The reviews about the Reception and Front desk workers’ are unjust. Everything was on time and the support staff was: prompt, professional and courteous. Dr. Forrest and his team were great. Perhaps these reviews happened with first time patients and possible delays with surgery etc. I am glad I read the reviews in detail before judging.

Destiny Jackson

Drove over 2 hours...Only for them to THEN tell me they would not accept the coverage that I was getting through government assistance. I had already given this information to the reception days before! Not only that but they disclosed information to another party that I DID NOT GIVE THEM PERMISSION TO. Ridiculously unprofessional.

Shyla Dowell

Amanda Cliffe

Everyone I dealt with were very kind and considerate of my needs. I informed them of how worried I was about getting my wisdom teeth extracted and they all calmed me down and informed me that it would be ok. The surgery went well and they took great care of me after. They made sure I was calm and relaxed and knew what needed to be done to have a speedy recovery before I left. I would recommend this place to everyone! They did delay my surgery for a few hours because of an emergency operation that needed to be done but that's understandable and I blocked off the whole day for the surgery. Thank you to everyone that had dealt with me! :)

Gavin Harwood

Made a appointment 3 weeks in advance. When the day comes was the last one to go into surgery when my appointment was made for 3 hours prior to closing. I even heard someone came and did a walk in while I was sitting waiting to see a doctor. Every good review seems fake why would people come leave a 5 star review weeks later. Because there paid to do it.

Kelly Marie Hobbs

Waited an hour and ten minutes for my appointment. I arrived early and checked in. After 45 minutes, I asked the front desk if they could give me an approximate wait time as I would like to go back to work. My question was met with much attitude. The dentist was very nice and professional however some individuals at reception could certainly use an attitude adjustment.

Jabir Mohamed

Great experience. Dr. Davis and his team helped me with my wisdom teeth extraction. It was a smooth process from start to finish.

Sat for 5 hours waiting for surgery in major pain. Aboslute worst service i have ever had they wouldnt send the invoice over the phone wouldnt contact y insurance and i am waiting 5 hours for surgery. Never even consider booking here. Never in my life have i apent 5 hours waiting for an appointment i booked weeks ago. Dont even consider booking here it is a massive mistake.

Dr Lung dud such a nice job on my teeth and the people that work with him are amazing

Shaina

Be prepared to sit in the waiting room 1.5-2 hours after your appointment is scheduled. I had a very quick and minor surgery done here, and for both my consultation (which was only 3 mins) and my surgery (which was 10 mins) I had to wait 2 hours AFTER my appointments were scheduled. Was even asked to come in early 2:00 only to wait and get in just before 4:00 pm.

Congra Immigration Services Inc.

Thank you to Dr Lung for changing my life. You are an amazing surgeon. I would highly recommend this doctor

Kayla McTeer

Dr. Forrest and his staff were wonderful! I was referred to Dr. Forrest after struggling with a poorly healing biopsy site performed elsewhere. I ended up having to have a minor salivary gland removed and, naturally, was quite anxious about the procedure. Dr. Forrest took the time prior to my surgery (on the day of!) to sit down with me in a private exam room and ease my concerns. The anesthesiologist was very calming when putting me under anesthetic, and coming out of surgery I was greeted with the most friendly nurses who took wonderful care of me upon recovery! I even got a phone call from one of the nurses later that evening to make sure I was doing okay and ask if I had any questions. Dr. Forrest performed the surgery flawlessly and I haven't had any recurring issues! I am SO grateful to have had such a wonderful medical team to fix my problem. Thank you Dr. Forrest and staff!

I would trust these guys to to do the work, all the time. I have read other reviews where people state that they were not correctly informed on fees, or they had to come in to reschedule an appt, I call BS. These guys and gals are top notch professionals, and yes the after pain sucks, however long term gain, for short term pain.

TJ

Let me preface this poor review by saying that I feel it is unfortunate I have to leave it, as I found the doctor I dealt with, Dr. Lung, to be superb. However, a place of business must be evaluated on their business practices, and this is where they are sorely lacking. First of all, going there makes you feel you're being treated like cattle. There are dozens of people in the waiting room, which seems very poorly run. I was told to come in for 10:30, and didn't get into a chair until 1pm. Thanks for wasting 2.5 hours of my time. Secondly, on top of the cost of my very routine extraction they charged an inexplicable $325 'facility fee', which is not covered by my plan AT ALL. What irks me is that my s.o. was sent to a different maxillofacial specialist just the other week, and was NOT charged this nonsense fee. What is it for? Disposal of my teeth afterwards? Clearly it isn't spent on a clock, or a schedule that anyone actually cares to follow. The clinic my gf went to, BTW, had her in a chair within 10 minutes of her arrival. So while Dr Lung is a great doctor, unfortunately the experience of going here is as excruciating as the dental pain he saves you from. If this clinic can somehow manage to bring their customer service out of 1977 and into 2017, that would be wonderful. Until then, get your dentist to refer you elsewhere for this type of work.

From start to finish Dr. Forrest and his staff was excellent. I went into it with a bit of anxiety, like I do with every new encounter. They treated me and my family with respect. They where patient. Addressed any concerns I had. The anesthesiologist was funny and very personable. Once I got down there I was told it could be up to 4-5 hrs. In total I was there for just over 3 hrs. After surgery when I was coming to they where very hands on as I was shaking like a leaf from the sedation. The after care nurses took time to explain everything to us after. Very informative, supportive. I am on hr 26 after extraction, and I am in no pain. Easily controlled by ibuprofen when it does get a little tender. I had a massive lower jaw encased wisdom tooth. Whole surgery took 25 mins. Considering the experience one of the smoothest things I've gone through medically. To be honest I have had harder, and longer experiences going through drive in oil changes places, then having this done here. Highly recommended. Everyone there does their job to a T, and felt very lucky to be in such good hands during an anxious experience. Now if I could only eat something solid....

My daughter had her wisdom teeth out last week. The staff was all very helpful, as was the after hours nurse when we had questions. Thank you.

Fadi Ismail

I am sorry to say that from the first call I could feel how "money-driven" the staff was. From making sure we bring all insurance pre-authorizations to always making sure we give enough time to cancel to the separate fees for anesthetic. The straw that broke the camel's back for us was when I called to ask if our daughter has the option of being given the anesthetic or not. The answer was "I am afraid not because if you opted for only a local freezing, that would not pay for anesthesiologist's time." In other words, we have to "drug" our daughter fully so that Mr. anesthesiologist gets paid for his time. Thanks, but no thanks.

Cora Hayes

Okay so its 3am so bear with me my pill cycle is weird. But I but got all 4 wisdom teeth out yesterday, all these negative reviews had me overly anxious and more worried for my surgery since it was the first time I was ever being put under, but my brother hadgone to these people before so a bit of me was less anxious. Everyone was so understanding and nice to me and probsbly saw my anxiety from a mile away. My surgeon, Doctor Robinson, took me through everything and eased my worry loads about the whole thing and all the nurses helping him made sure I was in good care and comfortable. They took my worries and fears seriously and thought about that all the way up to the surgery and assured me everything would be okay. The recovery room team from my foggy memory was also so kind to me, and I'm so sorry I spilt a bit of my blood and ginger ale on the floor from what my mom told me. These guys are professional and take worries into account, I wouldnt worry at all about negative reviews because they did their job correctly, eased me and even made me laugh a few times, good expierence frm what I could remember but be prepared to wait a bit like any kind of medical appointment, though it gave me time to mentally prep myself for what I thought would be the worse time of my life.

Susan Voglelaar

I see a person had Jaw surgery not too long ago. I do not know who did your surgery. However reading who the Drs. are now I do not think it was the same Dr. who did my jaw surgery. My Dr was Dr Dobrovsky who I do not see as on this list of Drs anymore. He did such a bad job on my Jaw Surgery that 10 years later I am still in Pain and had to go on Disability. My teeth were beautiful before I heard a clicking noise in my mouth after using mouth guards and seeing many dentists I was referred to him. When everything went wrong and we question what he was going to do to help me he dropped me as a patient . I can say that I even begged him to help me, but he never responded. Just a letter that because I questioned his work I was no longer his patient and offered nothing or no referrals. I do not know if any of the Drs are better now. But being that I could no longer work I can no longer afford to even see another Oral Surgeon.

Wes B

I am absolutely disgusted by this business! The staff are very disrespectful at the front desk. Sitting in the waiting room for 3hrs we listened to them talk to coworkers about patients and laugh. After our daughters surgery we received a phone call on our cell informing us we can come get her when we never left the waiting room. We then proceeded out of the building and drove around back to where they receive deliveries to go into yet another waiting room and sit with multiple patients and their families for a "GROUP" meeting about after care!! Seriously! What happened to privacy and respect!? Never in my life will I ever recommend or return to this shameful business!

Alina Reiser

This place doesn't care about their patients. Worst experience in my life and they made zero effort to make anything tolerable.

Kendra Brewster

I was referred here by my dentist to have my wisdom teeth removed and I have to say I would definitely recommend other people to go here as well. I was referred to Dr. Clayton Davis and was well taken care if. He was thorough in going over what the plans were and made sure that I was okay with going ahead with them. They were also thorough in explaining the after care instructions s handmade sureto check up on me a few hours after I got home. My recovery has been going well this far. And if I had to go there again for any other reason, I wouldn't have any problems with it.

Sandy Pous

Worst experience ever!!! We were asked to be there at 10:45 am sharp. For starters, I wasn’t pleased to see a big waiting room with 8 front desk girls and 25+ people waiting. Looked more like a government facility than a medical clinic. Not a very personal/human treatment, we were there for an ‘in-series’ procedure, we felt just another number. After 2:30 hrs, my daughter got admitted around 1:00 pm. One hour later, they tell me she’s ready to be picked up at the back of the building. I drove there and I was asked to get inside a room to find her still connected to the IV, her mouth bleeding profusely, looking scared and half conscious... She was asked to drink some Ginger Ale and swallow a pill, but obviously she can’t as her lips are still under the effect of the anesthesia. She’s frustrated and uncomfortable. Nobody there to help her! She was supposed to wipe the blood off her face by herself! If this image wasn’t pleasant enough, there are -in the same room- 4 other people with the same situation!... blood everywhere, people spitting, burping and gagging... This place looks more like a butcher shop than a clinic!!! No human treatment, no patience, they wanted us out of there asap. I know they don’t care as there’s not a single reply for any review here... but just a piece of advice: - Treat people as humans, not like a number, - Don’t have people waiting 2:30 hrs for an pre-scheduled procedure, my time is as valuable as yours, - Don’t release a patient till they are fully ready to go, - Family members are NOT trained to finish your work, - Allow some privacy for patients and family... who wants to see someone else bleeding, burping and puking???... Too bad I didn’t read the reviews before... I fully trusted my dentist’s referral.

So awesome! I came in for an extraction on my 4 wisdom teeth. I was expecting wait times but honestly, things went by fairly quick and everyone seemed to be working hard. The positive attitude and authenticity everyone had (including the reception staff!) really helped keep me calm as I was alone for the whole wait. Dr. Forrest did my procedure, and during the consult I felt 100% respect and care from him. The anesthesiologists were so quick I was out before my nerves really even kicked in, and when I finally woke up the nurse working with me - Derek I believe - was so friendly and awesome, coming all the way out to help me buckle up while I cried about not being able to skateboard. Thanks so much all of you! <3

I have had two procedures here now, one to pull baby teeth, and do some tissue grafting, and on Monday I had 12 implants tossed in. Both surgeries and every presurgery and follow up meeting, I am amazed at the quality of care. From the anesthesiologist, to the surgeons to the front desk staff, everyone is a well oiled machine of care. Thank you for taking such great care of me.

Jesse young

I would like to start off by saying that Dr. Davis was amazing during the consultation and was very informative. However, I got all four of my third molars out today. First off when I showed up at the clinic my scheduled time was supposed to be 10:45AM so I respectfully showed up at 10:00AM to make sure that I had enough time to be Covid-19 Screened etc I did not end up going into my surgery until about 11:30AM. This is where my second concern comes in, inside the OR I was asked to take a peroxide swish which was no problem. Then told to sit on the chair, The anesthesiologist told me his name and told me he was putting an IV in, asked about my tattoos and knocked me out without giving me any sort of heads up or anything. This is where my third issue which truthfully is the most concerning to me. Once I woke up, a nurse came and poured ginger-ale into my mouth and told me to swallow. She then gave me my first dose of pain medication, What seemed as if it was a very short amount of time I was asked to get up and walk to the exit door. I could barely walk and barely remember what happened. I was taken to a door at the back exit and was asked if I saw my guardian. I took a seat and waited for my ride to show up and my girlfriend came inside. I am 6'1 and 230lbs and she is 5'0 and 110lbs. The nurse completely walked away from me and had my tiny little girlfriend pick me up from out of the chair and walk me to the car. I could barely walk... I was told before the surgery that I would need to be there in total for 3-4 hours today. I did not realize that 3.5hours of it was waiting in the waiting room and then 30 minutes of it is your procedure and recovery time - get them in and out of the door as fast as they possibly can was what it seemed like to me. I am very displeased.. I was also told that I would receive a check-Up call and didn't receive it until the morning after. Side note: The nurses inside the OR before I got knocked out were absolutely amazing asking if I needed a blanket or anything to make me more comfortable.

Alexandra

I went to write a review and was really surprised at all the bad reviews from people who clearly misunderstood that this is a oral surgery office and not a 5-star hotel designed to cater to their every desire. I got four wisdom teeth out and everyone I came across was very helpful and professional. While it was quite the wait between arriving and completing the surgery, everyone I spoke to prior to the appointment was clear about the expected timeframe (and also any logical person understands medical office wait times). I was very greatful at how helpful everyone was and how easy they made the entire process and I am glad my dentist referred me here.

Amazing staff, great doctors, very good covid measures in place. If you need dental surgery in Edmonton or Grand Prairie look no farther.

Jade scherger

Awful. Awful. Awful. Trust me and take your teeth somewhere else. I have been here multiple times for oral surgery and each time they have been super late. Every time it’s a different excuse and I don’t believe they ever get people in on time. Even for the consults you’re stuck waiting, it’s ridiculous. I’m sitting in the waiting room right now almost two hours after I was supposed to be in surgery. My wisdom teeth may be able to wait but I really shouldn’t have to.

Paul Kobewka

From the office staff to the OR and into recovery, this team of professionals is an outstanding group. Thank you, Dr. Davis and team for a seamless procedure, exceptional pandemic response guidelines/operation and taking care of my health care needs. I’d recommend this practice to everyone.

Did a great job

My son had 4 wisdom teeth extracted here on Friday. One of the 4 extractions was considered more complicated due to the tooth having extra roots that went off in random directions. Dr T Vankka was an excellent surgeon, obviously very skilled, good at explaining the procedure in advance and his friendly manner made my son feel very at ease. Since the extractions (3 days ago) he's had no pain, bleeding occured only on the Friday evening - none since - and he has had only slight swelling, with no bruising at all. The premises were spotlessly clean. Would not hesitate to recommend.

travis doan

dr davis did a great job. super smooth. In at 11 home by 230.

Would give ZERO STARS. We live 2 hours out of town. My mother was scheduled for 11:30(have a paper copy to prove it), but when we got here they told us that we we're scheduled for 1:30 Which was a complete lie. So they bumped our appointment to 12:30 or so they said. So after our consult around 12:30 we sat till FOUR TEN!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! So after waiting till 5 the receptionist made a phone call to see when she would be finished and said that we can drive around to the patient pickup and that she will be ready in 20 minutes because she's waking up. Didn't get to go over her home care instructions until 5:55ish. We didn't leave till 6:15. IM PISSED WITH THE LOUSY SERVICE WE GOT TODAY.... now for the 2 hour drive home. Thanks a bunch.

Must read!!!! My experience with these guys at first front desk and dentist were kind and they were okay in the surgical room however when I woke I definitely did not enjoy having to watch another boy be wheeled in with the tube still in his throat watch them suck blood out of it and then remove it watching him choke and spit blood I asked for my curtains to be put out which they were briefly however this is minor to what the real problem is MUST READ!!!!! They do not properly inform their patients of the actual risks at all!!!! After lots of research and talking with another surgeon I find out I should have been warned better and given more preparation for what I now have to endure for what will likely be 3 months to a yr if it even heals at all! They did something to my nerve and now I am numb on the side of my chin and mouth but that is the best part I long for those moments! Mostly I feel sharp stabbing pains on the side of my face from nerve damage and this is good means it is healing what is absolutely terrible to say the least is the incredible pain I have to endure as if someone is trying to extract my front teeth!!!! And again this can last as I was told for anywhere from one week to one yr if it heals at all!!!!!! When I called for help and understanding I was greeted with mostly annoyance and as I was told I SHOULD HAVE FOLLOW UPS to make sure the healing is going good however was told that is basically a waste of their time! And quite frankly at this point wouldn't let them near my mouth to save my life!!!! I understand this happens however if I was aware of the actual risks instead of being told it's extremely rare and that he didn't see that being the case for me then I would have chosen to leave that tooth and only have the one that was actually bothering me out and would be fine right now ... instead I now have to go through months and months of what I can only describe as torture!!!! Make sure you read the reviews and take them seriously I know I wish I did!!!! I should also add a side note that an X-ray is done that shows them where the nerve is located and they can see if it will possibly be impacted I would highly recommend if it is a possibility and the tooth is not bothering you do not get it removed!!!!!!!! I cannot stress this enough!!!!!!!

After reading all the reviews prior to my wisdom teeth extraction, scared was the least of my concerns. However, I can tell you I would 100 times over recommend Kingsway Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery! Their staff was wonderful, patient, kind, and were able to handle any and all questions we had. Sure there was a bit of a wait, but it's a surgery... you're going to wait no matter what kind of surgery you have. That was not even a concern for us and again, no matter where you go for any surgery, check-in and surgery time is usually a difference in time. Dr. Forrest and his team were fantastic. I don't recall the name of the anaesthesiologist (I was super nervous haha), was absolutely awesome. Super friendly, explained exactly what was going on and what they were going to be doing, prior to starting anything. The surgery was quick, "waking up" (I didn't really go out, but that's just me haha) was easy, the nurse was fantastic afterwards. I told her I struggled swallowing pills so she genuinely helped me out by putting the painkiller all the way at the back of my throat (with my consent). Definitely helped out in that sense haha. I would go here over anywhere else in the future, the overall experience (and recovery) was and has been awesome.

Jaclyn Wragg

Absolutely wonderful, friendly, highly knowledgeable staff work here! They take very good care of you :) Thanks guys!

Monique Jamieson

Dr. Forrest and his team are amazing. I was an emergency patient. I had already been in excruciating pain for 2 weeks and they fit me in. Within 3 days I felt 1000 times better. I know I must have bumped someone who then had a longer wait time so I apologize but I am so grateful I was fit in!

Absolutely quality and dedicated care by all of the staff. Everyone from the clinic manager to the doctors and everyone in-between are consummate professionals. This is a very busy office, they must be doing something right.

Randall Couteret

It is a very well managed and proficient facility right from the moment you enter until the time you leave. My required procedure was managed and performed from all aspects very well. Dr. Davis and his staff are highly recommended.

Asif Jawed Bawany

Overall the experience was good, the staff is very helpful. I am giving it 2 stars because I found them very expensive. I was charged $250 for a 5 minute consulting where south gate Oral surgery was charging $125 for the same. I decided to go with Kingsway because I wanted an earlier date. Following was mentioned by my insurance company. "The dental charges exceed the provincial fee guide specified".

This is going back a while --- But I had my wisdom teeth removed. The surgeon was ex military and any jitters or concerns I had about the process was removed the second he started talking me through the procedure. You can tell these people are professions and they charge accordingly for that service. I will gladly spent $$$ to get a top of the class guy to perform surgery on me.

You can count me as another one who is surprised to see all of these negative reviews. You're already being put under - how much more hand-holding do you need?! Anyway, I was referred here to have my final two wisdom teeth removed. Dr Robinson was my surgeon and he is probably the most experienced and qualified oral surgeon in Edmonton. He knows what he's doing and I felt totally confident having him remove those last two teeth. They use all of the latest technology, Dr Robinson showed me my 3d x-rays and explained clearly what he was going to do. All staff - from front desk to nurses to anesthesiologist were friendly and competent. I was greeted immediately upon my arrival by the front desk staff and they promptly started the process of my surgery. They do warn you ahead of time you'll likely be at their facility for 3-4 hours as it is a very busy specialist office with the possibility of emergency situations. It turned out I was there for exactly three hours - I did both my consultation and surgery on the same day. Not bad at all. It's been a month since my surgery and I'm healing up nicely. In fact, I barely had any pain other than some jaw pain for the first week which was easily controlled with painkillers. Their fees are also very reasonable - I only had a small amount remaining after my insurance paid. Highly recommended for anybody needing oral surgery.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr Lung and all the staff I saw while a patient. When my dentist first referred me to Dr Lung, he was away on holidays but i was able to see him the week he got back. He saw me on the Thursday and had the availability to remove the tooth the next day. Due to the trauma that caused me to lose the tooth in the first place i did have some rather unusual pain following extraction. Dr lung was very understanding and worked with my dentist to figure out the issue and solve it. My most recent surgery with Dr Lung was for the implant. It was a long process from extraction to implant but dr lung was always willing to listen and make sure i as a patient was comfortable and well informed throughout the process. Dr Lung also prides himself in his work and it shows. Thanks Dr Lung, his surgical assistants, the anaesthesiologists, recovery room nurses and the administration staff. Everyone was amazing

I had a lump on my tongue, and my doctor referred me to Dr. McGaw. When I arrived, a staff was set up outside the office to intake patients through the COVID process. Then I was asked to wait outside the office, in the public area of the building until my turn. I was called in within a few moments. Mr. McGaw was pleasant, and efficient. He introduced himself, explained his thoughts on what my issue could be, and how he would deal with it regardless of the cause. He froze the area, cut it off, stitched it up, and sent away for biopsy. I was in and out of the OR within a half an hour or so. It has been 5 days, and my tongue is healing nicely. No complaints here!

Niz Myster

Tried to book an appointment with these fools for 8 days straight with no avail. What a nightmare!

Michel Jean

3 hrs waiting. I have an emergency. Abscess burst in my mouth and blood and pus everywhere. Bathroom down the hall they said Meanwhile, people with no emergencies getting moved right along...in and out. At the same time, I am in excruciating pain whilst these folks jump up with big smiles on their faces. Nice.

Cory Tarrent

I’m a high anxiety dental patient. I was referred to Dr. Forest for two extractions in the front and bone grafting to fix bone loss in the upper jaw. Dr. Forrest and his team were awesome! He took the time to explain what was going to be done during the procedure. Dr. Forest’s assistants were equally awesome insuring I was comfortable, looking after me while I was knocked out, and helping me figure out what was going on when I came too. Thanks to all!

Frosia Ambanoudis

Long 4 hour wait and waiting room was realy realy extremely cold..

Josh Lavallee

This place saved my life twice, both times I had an infected tooth that needed to be pulled. Got me in quickly and made me feel at ease upon arrival. There is no better place to go for a dental emergency. Anyone complaining about wait times need to understand that they prioritize those who are in extreme pain, just like an emergency department in a hospital, which is understandable and how it should be. Keep up the great work everyone! It is very much appreciated.

Part 1/2 Extremely unprofessional please do not go here. I got referred by my dentist to this place as they were able to get me in the soonest to removal all 4 of my impacted wisdom teeth. They really messed up, my surgery happened on March 05. We arrived early to my appointment, had the initial consultation and right away my wishes were ignored. I had asked over the phone to be put under general anesthesia and the nurse refused and said I’d be getting an IV and I’d be awake the whole time. That lead to an anxiety attack as I am very scared of dental work and surgery. I had to plead to Dr.Davis to make sure I was being put under. That started the scary experience that I’m still currently on a week and a half later. After waiting for my surgery I begged for my husband to come into the room with me until I was out. After seeing me cry I think they felt bad and let him come back and hold my hand. I had to rinse my mouth then they told me to lie on the table. No warning nothing the nurse shoved a mask on my face and wouldn’t even look at me while I’m sobbing and trying to tell my husband I love him. The anesthesiologist then starts questioning why I have down that I can’t have codine or opioids as I have the mask on my face!!! So I’m telling him they give me seizures and he gave me scoff and said okay like he didn’t believe me. Next thing he says with no warning is “night night” last thing I remember is shear panic and I squeezed my husbands hand as hard as I could. I remember them taking everything out of my mouth at the end, and all I could head was me crying and moaning. When I could open my eyes I was on the recovery bed. And was being handed a drink and told to drink it. I could not even find my lips, I asked for a mirror and they gave me one. I received NO pain medication upon leaving the building. I got to my vehicle with my husband no problem. Right away my husband notices I have a cut lip. Unfortunate but what do you do. We get home I relax until the following day where my tongue is still just as numb as when I woke up from surgery. They did give me a check up call but it was late at night and rushed. We call the dentist on the second day saying I still can’t feel my tongue, the nurse was super short with us and said call back in two weeks if you still can’t feel it. A week goes by and my pain start to increase on my left side, swelling is coming back and so is my bruise. We call once again to say somethings going on. We were told that a surgeon would call us back. We waited and waited and got nothing. So I called my local dentist and they said it was out of there hands and couldn’t help. I wait until Saturday the 13th and am now full blown anxious I can’t calm down. We call once again to the emergency help line. We explain what’s up and the nurse says a doctor will call soon. This time a doctor did call us back, he didn’t want to see me I could tell he sounded like we were inconveniencing his weekend. I start to get upset with him and say I feel like I’m being swept under the rug. He finally agrees to meet us at 5pm. We have to drive from out of town so we quickly call a babysitter and head out. This man looked at me for 5 MINUTES! And said it’s probably nothing looks like a hematoma, your allergic to too many things I can’t help you have a good day, and only come back if my face is swollen so bad people across the street would be able to tell. Professional... I think not.

terry pong

This place is extremely shady and unprofessional. They could not handle my consultation so how do they expect to handle my $20,000 surgery? refused to talk to me personally as they contacted my EMERGENCY MEDICAL CONTACT about my surgery and my costs and my insurance with people other than me. Waited countless hours (surgical implications apparently) only to find out i wasent given the surgeon i requested and they pressured me to choose who i want to do my consultation with within 2 minutes regardless of the fact i waited hours being uncommunicated with. they also refuse to tell me who is performing my $20,000 surgery as they "dont know". consultation was about 10-15 min and they wanted to charge me 800$. I left consultation with more questions than answers.

Tim Leach

Outstanding work by the entire team for my surgery. Everyone from the administration to the nurses and doctors were very professional and courteous throughout the entire experience. You're in safe hands with this group!

Crystal

I put off getting my wisdom teeth out for over 4 years, so naturally going into the surgery I was pretty nervous. Every person that I encountered at this clinic from the receptionists, to the nurses in the consultation, to the doctor and the anesthesiologist, and the nurses in recovery were so nice and reassuring! Dr. Davis did a wonderful job with the surgery, Dr. Noble was very thorough with the anasthesia and my recovery nurse Chris was a delight! I would highly recommened Dr. Davis and his staff!

Glenda Johal

My daughter had oral surgery to remove an extra tooth back in July. Dr. Lung was very good at explaining the procedure and my daughter's tooth was removed without any complications. We recently went back for a follow-up appointment and, coincidently, I just received a bill from Dr. Lung's office for the amount of the surgery that was not covered by insurance. Naturally, I was shocked because my daughter should have been fully covered as she had coverage through two insurance companies. I figured that I had no choice but to pay the amount. When I explained to Dr. Lung that I was unhappy about having to pay the difference, he referred me over to one of his office assistants who explained to me what I was being billed for. Although it through no fault of Dr. Lung's office, he reduced my bill by 50% which made my day. Overall, I am very happy with the service provided by Dr. Lung.

Kyla Wasylycia

Dealing with these people is like herding stray cats. One receptionist would give me some information and another would tell me that it was incorrect the next time I called. They were not straight forward and I needed to ask a million questions to get even basic information. I called 3 months ahead and they said it was too early to book me. They agreed to call me when they started booking for the week I wanted. They called AFTER they booked up the entire week I was free. As a university student who also needs to work the spring/summer session, it was a nightmare to book with them. I highly recommend going to Renew instead. They are very professional, knowledgeable, and overall just more pleasant. Renew did an amazing job, 5/5 for them.

I had never imagined that a small chin and small jaw would lead to life threatening experience for my baby, causing him difficulty in breathing. Thanks to the expertise, Dr Kevin Lung did the surgery for jaw distraction of my 6 week old baby and it went so well that he could confidently breath on his own, no more support and monitors around. I am so glad he his home after that long journey after his birth. Thanks to Dr Lung and his team. Great job, very much appreciable. Thanks a lot.

James Freeman

Dr Clayton Davis was amazing! Everyone was actually amazing. I was very nervous going into this and everyone down to the anesthesiologist was fantastic. Dr. Davis was so professional and very quick. The aftercare nurse was amazing. She seen me shivering and got me a hot blanket right away. The only reason they aren't getting the 5th star is because i am hangry since i'm still in recovery. All in all great service, very friendly and super quick. I do get the shock to others about the room for waking up and picking up but you have to remember there is alot of people in and out of that building they do their best to make sure you aren't see others. Oh i had 11 teeth removed and was in the OR for maybe 1 hour total of 2-3 hours in the building which was less then i was told to expect being there. I was told to expect being there 3-4 hours. Great job everyone. I would thank all the assistants to doctor Davis and the sleepy doctor who told me to "have a good sleep" just before putting me out. It really helped me relax. Thank you all so much!

Christina Meade

So so so rude and not at all kind of caring of pts. I was in to get all 4 of my wisdom teeth out. I called to book app and was told I would get a package sent to me explaining everything. All that was sent was post care instructions, and an arrival time of 12 noon. Never met the doctor or was explained to of how the day will work. Fast forward to the day, I had fasted and had nothing to drink (including medication I take for anxiety.) Upon arrival I'm given a few forms and told to fill them out. Bring them back and told to have a seat someone will call me right away. There is a sign saying if no one has called your name in 10 mins to inform the desk. Not wanting to be a pest I didn't go up till 30 mins had passed. I was told "ya ya someone will call you soon" okay I sit back down. Another 30 mins and I remind them again, as well ask at what time I can pay so my mother who was waiting to be able to take my purse back home with her can leave. They say that I still need to have a consult with the surgeon and that after I can pay. Now that over an hour has passed I start getting a little bit of anxiety. I finally get called to go back and told my mother has to stay up front and it will only take a few mins. I am put into a small room by myself and the door is closed. After yet another hour passing and I am alone I start having a major anxiety attack. A women working there walks in my room sees me clearly not doing well (I am sitting on the floor crying), she grabs some tools from the cupboard and walks outta the room saying nothing. After another 30 mins of that I decide I cant handle this anymore and I will need to leave. I walk outta the room and a different women sees me and comes running up saying where are you going. I say I cant do this and I am going to leave. clearly understanding that they are about to lose $4000 she says well why? I inform her I have been waiting by myself in a room, have high anxiety, was not aloud to take my medication and my mother was not aloud back to help me stay calm. Her very rude and angry answer is "well we tell people that they should expect to be here 3-4 hours as you have a consult and surgery to do" I tell her that I have already been there nearly 3 hours and have yet to have anyone come talk to me or inform me of what today will look like, much less talk to the doctor. She then said "well you came here to early" I then told her that two times I was told to be there for 12 noon. She said go back in the room and she will get someone. Then Dr. Dobrovosky comes storming in clearly mad and says "what are you doing" I explained I have high anxiety and this process has really triggered it. His reply is well no one is forcing you to be here and that I am "too pretty to have anxiety." Sorry but news flash mental health doesn't discriminate. Thanks for belittling my 14 year struggle with mental health. Spends not even 5 mins with me looking at my xray that my doctor took a month prior and then sent me to pay for the surgery, which they said I had to leave my credit card on file and they will charge it once they know how much it will cost. its been two weeks and no one has charged me or been able to tell me what is will cost.

Kathy Tretiak

The doctors know their stuff...and they know it! Probably good if you want quality work. Where they lack is in making their clients feel comfortable, safe and welcome. Start with their office which is huge. You are forced to stand there and wait for someone (there were many) to acknowledgr you and allow you to come forward. Some staff treat you like an inconvience. Where is the coffee, the dental hygiene station, the coat rack and the bathroom? Beats me. My friend went into surgery very anxious about being put out. She wanted someone to hold her hand but no one did. She felt rushed being put out and woke up, still agitated by it. A little human compassion goes a huge long way.

Cody Larose

It took 4 hours before I saw the dentist regarding anything to do with my wisdom teeth. after that was told it would be about 30 minutes till i was put to sleep took an hour instead. once that happened it was over in a flash was told to allow for 3 to 4 hours it took about 6 hours. They did follow up with an apology call when they did the check in call the following day saying they where with with emergency surgeries and such. I was not impressed to be kept out of the loop the whole time. not much can be done now place just seems to busy

Michael A

My experience on every visit has been a positive one - all very professional and helpful - I tip my hat to Dr. Lung and all the wonderful folks at Kingsway Oral!!!

Heather Emily

I have huge sanitary concerns regarding the Doctor who conducted my consult. I was absolutely horrified. Will not return nor recommend others.

Brendan Kordyback

After reading all these one star reviews I had to write my own because all of the issues addressed in those reviews are CLEARLY OUTLINED by the staff before you even you go into the facility. They give you a heads up on everything such as what to bring for paperwork/ clothes and how long it'll be. I Had my appointment at noon, got there 1145 and filled out all paperwork, waited for a bit and got in for my surgery at about 2 (after filling out paperwork and doing a consult as well). You're going to have to wait regardless of where you go so not a big deal, Staff were nice, knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable. Surgery went well and I was walked to my car even though I felt fine on my feet. Don't trust the haters, pretty good experience overall.

Jimmy G

Not a big fan of playing phone tag for weeks on end because the reception staff are always too busy apparently

Heather Delgado

I rarely take the time to do a review but this was a pleasant experience. Professional staff at front desk and excellent customer service with the surgical staff. Dr Kevin Lung is an expert in his field and handled the removal of my four wisdom teeth. My case was challenging and the instructions given were clear and I understood what I needed to do to assist in healing well "didn't have to hear twice". Doing everything they told me to do. I did have to wait a longer time than expected to get in to do surgery but didn't even matter when service was complete. Very happy with this experience

Brenda Terry

I had to have oral sugery with Dr. Lung recently. I was very happy with the overall progress! The staff were all super friendly and Dr. Lung was great to deal with. He made me feel at ease and did an amazing job. I did have to wait a long time in the office because they were running behind but I know he is a busy man and things happen. Would definitely recommend!

Nikki S

Reception and the front staff was really friendly and helpful. The precautions for covid they took was really great. The anesthesiologist did good work I usually take a while to wake up. The nurse afterwards who helped me out did fantastic. I appreciate Dylan and how he handled me coughing after and being out of it. He walked me to my car and waiting mum. My reason for not 10/10 was the apathy from Dr. Forrest himself. Some of us haven’t had teeth or such removed before and are a bit terrified. Also the not really listening when I was speaking to him I felt dismissed when I tried to explain something to him. I get he does this multiple times a day and is a pro at this. But my cheek is bruised and swollen still from the surgery,. I wasn’t expecting this pain from the internal bruise nor the time off from it. My job is 100% on the phone and requires me to be talking 24/7 to my insureds as an auto adjuster. So I’ve had more time off than expected. So setting realistic expectations and outcomes would’ve been good to know. This is why I set my own expectations of healing time and prepare for the worst outcome. not the 2 days he’d said it’d be. My recommendation is remember even though you go through this multiple times a day not everyone does. This type of thing is scary to some of us and our healing time isn’t typical. Your patients know their bodies and some have past issues. Listening goes a long way as does empathy. Your a doctor but still human. Take a moment to listen and respond accordingly instead of in a dismissive tone.

Nicholas Smutt

We showed up 20 minutes early to the appointment, we then waiting 2 hours before they even took in the patient, all while people where coming and being brought in even though they were there after us. We ended up being the last patient in for the day, even though the appointment was scheduled for 1:30, then when I picked her up from the patient pick up, the man who handed her off to me gave me her prescription said fill these and sent us on our way, he was inside before I could even ask questions. Absolutely would not recommend this place ever. The gauze we were given wasn't even in individually sterilized packets. Just a cheap zip lock filled with gauze. The ONLY person who was decent was the man who was doing all the covid screening

Hunter Boyd

I required lower jaw and chin surgery and honestly expected a rough recovery afterwards. However Dr. Lung and his staff made the whole experience enjoyable as well as simplistic. They are thorough and to the point. Now that the recovery, which was very manageable due to Dr. Lung's instructions, is over I can confidently say the process is well worth it. I look and feel amazing and I have Dr. Lung and his staff to thank. For those of you deciding who and where to have any oral surgery I can only say the staff at Kingsway Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery as well as their surgeons, especially Dr. Lung, will make your experience more enjoyable and much more straightforward. My final note being I thank Dr. Lung and all the staff at Kingsway for making me look as well as feel amazing.

Randi Smith

I've seen so many negative reviews on this place - so naturally I was quite worried to have all four of my wisdom teeth extracted here. But I felt I was treated very kindly by all the staff and my surgeon Dr. Lung. Yes, my appointment was scheduled at 12 and I didn't go in for surgery until 3:30. Yes, I was getting quite irritated on the long wait time, but I blame that on being empty of food and drink. Overall, I had a good experience regardless of the wait time. I had to go back 2 weeks after my extraction due to an infection. I got there around 11 and expected that I could be waiting some time as it wasnt a scheduled appointment. I was in for surgery again by 330. And again treated very kindly by all staff. For anyone going here - just expect to be there awhile. That's just the way it goes sometimes. But at least if your walking in with that expectation then it shouldn't be so irritating having to wait. I also believe the reason for the long wait times is because they get 3 people prepped for surgery at a time, then complete the surgery for those 3 people, and all 3 people leave at the same time. Then onto the next 3!

Shakeara Saunders

Extremely pointless making an appointment since they do not follow it. Constantly putting other patients ahead of you, not to mention how you are rarely acknowledged in general. The facility is very good at looking professional but not being professional.

Alvin Singh

Terrible service. Make sure you clear your day because the appointments are never on time. The doctors don't even communicate with the orthodontist so no one is ever on the same page and we had to go back and forth so many times here and delayed the procedure over 6 months. When you get in the room they rush you through everything and try to get you out and then the admin staff is not updated with what was discussed so no one knows what is going on. This place is a train wreck. Try to go somewhere else if possible.

Cm Erickson

I found all the nurses/techs very helpful and kind. Had to get the surgery to get all four wisdom teeth out (two not out yet) had great after care instructions, warm blanket before my surgery, got to keep my teeth, and awesome nurses who walked me out to my husband. Not bad bruising at my IV spot, and I bruise easily! I came prepared to give little Tupperware keychains to the nurses if they were nice and I’m happy to say I gave to them! 10/10

I went in to have my wisdom teeth removed and after being told it would take 4-6 weeks for my insurance to be ran I got a major infection in one of my teeth. I immediately called and booked an appointment for extraction. It had been almost 3 weeks and according to my insurance company no one had even attempted to run a claim so I ended up paying everything up front. $2377.00 for the teeth and another $275.00 for the anesthetic. The surgeon recommended that I start an IV for antibiotics before the surgery to help with the infection, I have a SERVER fear of needles especially in the crook of my arm stemming from a horrible experience back when I was a child. The nurse timed my heart beat at over 150 beats per minute and I was shaking so violently she told the surgeon it would be best to just knock me out. (she was amazing and such a great person) She assured me that they would gas me to help my shaking and then the IV would be put in my hand. Not only did the anesthesiologist NOT gas me but I had to beg him while crying hysterically not to put the IV in the crook of my arm. He responded by telling me he was going to put it where he wanted all while prying my arm open. He told me that I was going to lay still or he wasn't going to knock me out. The nurse finally convinced him to just put the damn thing in my hand. When I told him that the IV hurt pretty badly he told me it was my fault for having it in a small vein. Next thing I know I'm waking up from a horrible nightmare where he was cutting out my heart while I watched and I am out of surgery. I went home and my boyfriend had to hold my hand all night just so I could sleep. 3 days and I've still been waking up crying because of what that man did. I'm pretty sure it isn't common practice to violate and traumatize your patients. DO NOT GO HERE.

Jordon Overton

Got my wisdom teeth removed and 5 days later still in pain got a hard time about asking for.more.pain meds lady was unreal how rude she was

Darcy Donald

The people that work there are wonderful, but the office is very busy and run poorly. Got my wife there for an emergency referral from the dentist and after filling out her paperwork, sat for 2.5 hours before getting a consult. Consult was wonderful and the Dr. Was able to remove the blockage manually without the need for surgery! The staff were friendly and the doc was amazing, but the way the place is run is very weird. You get there and sign in; you sit back down and waaaait. Go for your consult, sit back down and waaaait; go for the procedure; sit back down and waaaait; finally you get to the end where you pay and you're free to leave. Her procedure was 15 minutes total but we were there 4.5 hours! 5 stars for the staff though!

Aaron Strand

Dr. Forrest and all the staff were excellent. Expectations around wait times on the day of the surgery were very clear in the emails that were sent ahead of time and the post surgery materials were very helpful.

Deborah Berry

Dr. Seema Ganatra has been seeing me for years. She's so incredibly kind and professional.

Casandra Zettl

I went into Kingsway Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery for an emergency wisdom tooth extraction. I was escorted to the operating room. I laid down in the chair as the anesthesiologist asked me if I was a smoker and if I used any recreational drugs. I told him that I was a smoker, but that I didn't use any recreational drugs. He said he had asked, because drug use and smoking, could interfere with the medication. He ran my IV and put the gas mask on my face. He then told me to breath deeply. I did what I was told and at first the gas wasn't turned on, the gas began to flow and I got my first breath of it. As soon as the gas hit my throat and my lungs, it burned like I was inhaling fire. I turned my head away from the mask and told the anesthesiologist that it was hurting me and told him to stop. In response he said that the it burned, because I was a smoker and forced the mask back onto my face, despite me telling him to stop and trying to push the it away. He pinned me there with the mask to my face as I struggled and coughed uncontrollably, trying to break free and stop the excruciating pain, feeling like my throat and lungs were on fire. He pinned me like that with the mask to my face until I lost consciousness. I woke in the recovery room and begged the nurse for water for my burning throat, she refused and left me there crying, in pain. I repeatedly begged for water and was refused. So I lay there sobbing to myself, until another nurse came by and saw the state I was in and helped me by allowing me to sit up(the other nurse wouldn't) and letting me drink. The anesthesiologist knew I was a smoker, and did not warn me about the terrible pain that the gas would cause. He ignored my pleas for him to stop when he knew I was in pain, and pinned me to the chair with a gas mask to my face. I was never offered an alternative anesthesia. If any other person had done that, they would be charged with assault. I have never felt so terrified, violated and helpless in my entire life. I had a stranger pin me to a surgical table and force me to take narcotics against my will.

I was very nervous for my consult with Dr.Lung. First off the office is very large and intimidating, there are several receptionists and everything is a tad hectic. The nurse I got seemed annoyed and snappy as I put my shoes on after having my height and weight taken. During my consult with Dr.Lung I mentioned my asthma and past health issues, to which he gave a weird inappropriately placed analogy about children with peanut allergies believing their conditions to be more serious than they are, and implying anxiety is the root cause of my health condition after noticing I mentioned it on the intake form. Further more I was told that he’d remedy any post Opp anxiety/panic by pumping me full of Valium. He then gave a long lecture about the “dangers of marijuana use”. I got the general impression that my concerns were absolutely no concern to him as he kept repeating “I do 9000 surgeries a year”. Not impressed and definitely exploring other options, had I been met with one single spect of human compassion I might feel differently. To top it off I was placed on a waiting list for surgery before having even agreed to anything.

I had a pretty complicated surgery to remove my wisdom teeth and one tooth inside my nasal cavity in July 2018. Dr. Lung did a wonderful job with reconstructing the bone and my recovery went smoothly. I was super scared before the procedure, but he patiently explained everything to me. I still remember that on the day of surgery he greeted me with "Did it get any better?" and we both laughed :) Dr. Lung is a fantastic professional! I have no doubts in that.

Had a great experience with Dr. Davis and his staff. Outstanding service, he and his staff absolutely know there stuff. Very well organized, and extremely professional, and friendly! EDIT- after reading some of the reviews stating bad customer service, I feel it necessary to state that it’s fairly obvious that the people complaining don’t understand triage, or don’t understand that surgeries sometime develop complications and require extra time. People need to take this into consideration. You can’t just ask a surgeon to walk away from a procedure just because you’re waiting.

Unwelcoming front receptionist. Irritated when I ask a question about insurance. Cutting me off while I’m still talking and quickly hung up the phone after. Referred by family dentist but I will cancel the appointment. Seems like many people who gone through this place had a problem with receptionists. I’m glad that I read reviews.

Had a great experience with Dr Forrest and team. I had complicated wisdom teeth surgery and they were excellent. Check up is good and I feel like I have a brand new mouth without pain.

Chris

I had a good experience here, everybody was very professional and attentive.

I would highly advise that you stay away from this place. I booked an appointment at 9:30. I showed up at 9:00 thinking they could maybe take me in early. I ended up waiting till 10:45 till I got in and my consultation only took 5 minutes. There is no reason they should be over an hour behind at 9:30, especially since there appointments are so short. To make matters worse, after my consultation I had to wait another 30 minutes just to book my actual surgery. This place has no idea what customer service is. Highly advise that you never go here! Also, if you actually spend some time reading the majority of the reviews, you’ll notice that only people called “local guides” leave 5 star reviews. These people are obviously fake. All the people that have actually gone here have left a 1 star review because this place really does not know what they’re doing. Stay away!!!

Customer service is non existent at this clinic. Waiting times of 2 - 3 hours are not abnormal. I had a routine check-up appointment at 9:30A and left after waiting for 1 1/2 hours. How can you be behind by 1 1/2 hours at 9:30? You are left to wait, with no updates, and no idea of when you will be seen. Common courtesy would dictate that customers should at least be advised of delays. I could also write a book about my initial surgery that was 4 hours late after I had no food or water for 18 hours. Because of severe dehydration I was sick for three days.

Very impressed with my experience at this clinic. I had Dr. Fay and he was incredible. Very personable and had a good sense of humour, made me feel at ease with the treatment plan and just overall a great person. I was also impressed that he checked on me after the surgery to see how I was doing in the recovery area, generally not many surgeons do this so I appreciated the care. The sutures were very well done and I had almost no bleeding after the surgery. All the nurses and receptionists were friendly and always answered my questions when I would call in prior to my appointment. I was referred to the clinic and got a surgery date in less than 3 weeks time, it was way quicker then I was expecting. Also I was expecting to be at the office for several hours but was discharged by 0930 that morning. The anesthesiologist Dr. Noble was also really great. I’m usually a tricky IV start and he got it no problem and it was very painless. I asked if he could run an anti emetic during the general anesthetic and he said no problem and that he would run an extra one. Overall, great experience and I would recommend Dr.Fay to everyone.

The care I received here was top notch and I highly recommend coming here. My surgeon was Dr. Lung, and my anethesiologist was Dr. Caves. First I'll explain their process and then my experience. When you arrive you just walk up to the front counter and someone available will check you in. It may take a couple of minutes as they are SUPER busy. After you check in you'll fill out the usual papers. Personal information and medical history and information. This is also when you'll fill in your insurance information. Make sure you bring your insurance information, even if they won't be doing direct billing. After that you'll wait around for a bit and they'll call you into a consultation room. There you will meet with a nurse who will ask some basic medical questions like what medications you take. She will also give you a care pamphlet and a consent form for you to read over while you wait for the doctor to arrive. They will leave and you may end up waiting a bit for your doctor to arrive so just read the information they gave you. The doctor will then go over the procedure with you and answer any questions you may have. After the consultation you return to the waiting room. They will eventually call you for surgery. They will take you to what they call the IV bed and insert your IV there. This happens in the recovery room that you'll wake up in after surgery. If you have a sweater or personal belongings on you they take them and put them in a bag that you will be given later. They give you a heated blanket and you'll wait on the bed until they call you into the OR. The surgical nurse will come and lead you to the OR where you will be given mouthwash to swish around for a few seconds. This is the time where you meet your anethesiologist and can ask them questions. They'll take off your glasses if you have them and put them in a case. When you sit in the chair they'll put a hair net on you. They'll then give you a mask with oxygen and shortly after that you'll go to sleep. When you wake up a nurse will be there to tend to you. Here you can get your glasses back but you won't be allowed on your phone yet. Once you're okay the nurse will leave you to finish waking up. If you have any concerns or questions just raise your hand and a nurse will come to you. After you've woken up and are alert, a nurse will come and ask you a few simple questions. When you're deemed ready, they will take you over to some couches and put a big plastic sheet over you and help you learn to drink with your mouth completely frozen. You get a choice between apple juice or ginger ale. While this is happening, they have called your ride and they should arrive while you're drinking. They will then go over care instructions again and medications. You will get a baggy with gauze and syringes. Your doctor will come and see you to tell you how the surgery went and answer any final questions. After that, you're free to go. Overall my experience was completely amazing. We were told that consultations usually take 30 mins, but after Dr. Lung arrived it took about 5ish minutes. (I'm lucky in that my surgery was just a routine wisdom tooth removal.). He answered my questions and when I told him I was anxious, he addressed each one specifically. He had two more people ahead of me he had to take care of so I waited about another hour in the waiting room before I was called for surgery. The nurse who inserted my IV was super nice and the IV barely hurt. Dr. Caves was also just as fantastic. Dr. Lung suring my consultation had told me the procudure would take less than 30 mins and I should be under no longer than 30. I had some trouble waking up and was under for about an hour. I woke up hyperventilating and panicking and a wonderful nurse was right beside me petting my hair and trying to help me get my breathing under control. This is the first time I can remember being put under and I had MAJOR anxiety (like cry myself to sleep anxiety) about it. Everyone from admin staff, the nurses, Dr. Lung, and Dr. Caves made my whole experience wonderful.

I got referred by my dentist to Kingsway Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in October to have 4 extractions done, it is now almost December. The process of booking an appointment which I thought would be a smooth process, is not. I have been chasing back and forth with phone calls for two months now, getting voicemails and trying to return the call as soon as possible. Very frustrating.

Dr. Forrest was incredible. After my spouse had his wisdom teeth removed elsewhere he developed a rare abscess that was potentially fatal as it was pushing on his throat and airway. We had a lot of issues the previous week getting anyone to listen until we ended up going to emergency. We were referred to Dr Forrest on a Saturday. He was so good he explained everything and had him in surgery within hours. I am happy to say he is healing up nicely and I'm an incredibly thankful. I called his team to get a follow up booked and they were delightful.

I could not have better things to say about my treatment at Kingsway Oral. And I've had a LOT of treatments. It's been seven surgeries and five years and the entire time I have been dealt with incredibly well. This is a VERY busy office, with some of the highest demand specialists in the province (country) working out of it. This means there will be administrative issues. You will wait for your appointment. This is standard fare in my opinion. I've never been to a specialist and gotten in on time. Bring your book, and relax - knowing you are in immensely capable hands and your health and wellbeing will be cared for to the utmost degree.

If you have an appointment here, expect them to reschedule it multiple times and wait hours in the waiting room when you actually get your appointment.

I had a wisdom tooth with cyst removed in November, 2020. At first I was concerned with some of the online reviews, but because my dentist who I trust, did the referral to expert Surgeon, Dr. Forrest, I went ahead. it is true that there is a wait before you go in for the surgery. And because you have to fast for the anesthetic, the wait can seem longer. (This may be common in all dental surgery clinics). I asked Dr. Forrest about this when I was in the pre op appointment, and he told me that Kingsway Oral services northern Alberta and NWT, and gets much of their emergency work. So if an urgent emergency case arrives, it gets triaged to the front of the line, over elective surgeries. Also, due to the nature of surgery, some go quickly, but some can take longer, depending on the case. Even inspite of the delay I had, which was about one hour after my scheduled time, I was super happy with the whole experience and the expertise, and good bedside manner of the Doctor and Anesthetist. They did a brilliant job, and it’s all healed. I would highly Recommend Dr. Forrest, and the team at Kingsway Oral, for any complicated dental surgeries. Just bring something to amuse yourself while you are waiting for admission, and you are in good hands!

Meriah Mann Part 2/2 Extremely unprofessional please do not go here. Sunday night I was working my jaw to help the soreness and I felt a pop and the entire skin under the left side of my tongue goes numb and so do my gums. Monday I had 4 panic attacks. My sister comes over and we both call the specialists. ( yes if your reading this someone was with me!!! ) The nurse Wendy sounded genuinely concerned and asked if I’d be able to make it in tomorrow as in Tuesday the 16th so that Dr.Davis can look and potentially get me in for MORE SURGERY due to what is “a complication”. I was told to fast from midnight in case surgery is needed. For starts fasting while your trying to heal after four teeth were just ripped from your face is horrid. I do it anyway, we once again need a babysitter, we leave town and head for Edmonton really early in the morning. My appointment is at 9:30. We get there exactly at 9:30 go inside to check in, there’s no record of me having an appointment, it’s apparently on Wednesday now. But they could “squeeze me in” that sounds safe to squeeze someone in who’s having complications especially because there’s a chance I need surgery. Not reassuring at all especially after the run around to even get listened to that I’m having issues. We walked out and I suggest everyone else do the exact same.

DR.FORREST AND HIS STAFF WERE INCREDLE. I got all 4 wisdom teeth out today and was super nervous. Basically wanted to run. I got there and it was incredibly calming. They were super patient. Dr. Forrest took his time to explain everything and calm me down. Everything from walking in to going home was perfect!! Highly highly highly recommend them !! I honestly don't get why everyone was complaining. Wait times happen. I got there 930 am my appt was 1015. Left by 1220pm !! All in all highly recommend!

Michelle Elizabeth

Wonderful office, staff and Dr Forrest are all very nice and great at what they do! Consult and surgery for wisdom tooth removal were quick and absolutely painless . More than 24 hours later and i have absolutely no pain or swelling. Highly recommend!

Surgery went smoothly, though I didn't feel that my fear of being put under anesthetic was taken very seriously. Was asked to pay some of the fees upfront and then had to put a credit card on file, none of which I was told before hand. Six months later, and I'm wrestling with insurance companies because of "invalid procedure codes" and Kingsway is not returning my calls or email. They have already billed my credit card and do not appear to care whether or not my insurance pays me back.

The health protocols Kingsway Oral Surgery staff have put into place are exceptional. In this uncertain time, I wasn't sure if I would be able to come in for follow up care. The staff were very calming and accommodating, the hygiene protocols made me feel safe and secure - don't hesitate if you require care - patient and staff safety is taken very seriously by the clinic.

Got my wisdom teeth removed here about 4 hours ago. I’m shocked at the negative reviews because all I have experienced today was positives, staff was amazing and Dr. Davis completed my surgery perfectly. Experienced zero pain.

David Martin

Wow! From the front office staff, to the nurses, to the anaethesiologist, right on through to Dr. Lung, this was about the best experience you could possibly have with a tooth extraction. Everyone was super friendly and competent. I was asked for my preference of anesthetic, and the whole process was almost completely pain-free. This is coming from someone with a pretty low tolerance for pain. The surgery was expertly performed, as I had little to no bleeding afterwards. Plus I was given plenty of time to come to, as well as thorough instructions for post-operative care. Highly recommend Kingsway Oral Surgery if you have to have something like this done!

Dee Martin

I had to get surgery on my jaw due to a motor vehicle accident. My doctor in Calgary recommended Dr. Dobrovolsky for my consult and potential surgery. Not only was the staff at Kingsway Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery absolutely the best! I can't say enough good things about Dr. Dobrovolsky, since my surgical procedure I feel like he has given me a new jaw. I followed his recovery instructions exactly and my jaw pain now is non-existent. Thank you again Dr. Dobrovolsky & Kingsway Oral!!

My experience is not good at all, I had my surgery on Monday and things are healing, and through the week I was noticing the stitching particle stuck in my cheek. Just being under the assumption because it's fresh, it might just be because of that.. today I actually discovered my left cheek has been stitched for what reason I don't know.i have called and made an appointment with another dentist for them to shed some light, the anestatic specialist is very inpatient, there is no explanation, no warning of starting the injection. I have a massive dark bruise it has been 6 days and my bruise should be fadeing but in my case it's getting worse...

My Dentist, his colleague and my Endodontist recommended that I get a very painful, inflamed and swollen dental cyst removed through oral surgery. I was very fortunate that they recommended Dr. George Forrest of the Kingsway Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery because he not only explained, during the consultation I had with him, what the procedure would involve but also ordered a complete physical examination to assure that I was able to have the oral surgery. Being a Covid-19 Endangered person I was impressed with the thorough sanitizing measures and PPE's I observed while in the Clinic. The Surgery, performed with the superb professional abilities of Dr. Forrest, was a total success resulting not only in the removal of the cyst but also my complete recovery and healing. The day I had the surgery, four Surgical Assistants were assigned to me, each one of whom was responsible for a specific procedure of the pre-surgery, surgery and past surgery process. While this type of surgery is usually done with total anaesthesia, because of my age, the obviously very skillful Anaesthesiologist, Dr. Scott Paterson, carefully administered intravenous sedation of just the right amount during the surgery. During the follow-up meeting I had with Dr. Forrest I was quite happy that he obviously felt that I would live to be 97 years old when he explained to me that the type of cyst I had would slowly come back and that he may have to remove it again about 10 years from now. Of all the medical procedures I have had to experience during my life, this was one of the best ones. Horst A. Schmid

I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed. It was the cheapest in town, quickest to book and the surgery went like a charm, no infections or pain afterwards. I had minimal contact with staff other than booking, arriving and then seeing the doctor - all excellent experiences.

Rubi Torres

Had to wait a long time but they told me that would be the case. They were able to move up my appointment from a month to a week away because I was in pain. They're taking covid protocols seriously and everyone there was very nice and compassionate which I truly appreciate.

I came here for an emergency wisdom tooth removal. Some staff were very rude and impersonal- one lady was very demeaning and kept talking about personal and financial details in front of everyone in the lobby. She didn't even call me up- so weird and uncomfortable. When I left I came home to a mouth full of blood with it dried around my lips and nose- the nurse didn't put the gauze pads on! I was swallowing blood the whole way home and I was too numb to realize. After I became more aware and was able to take care of myself, I started to heal well- with little to no swelling. So I'm happy with the surgery itself but everything around it was so unprofessional.
