The rudest most horrible doctor ever! Lacks compassion and very dismissive
Job well done Dr. Perey. Walking on a broken ankle after ORIF, no more than three weeks after. No crutches. No boot, no splint. No time wasted in bedside chat, and no time wasted in recovery either. Two thumbs up from a happy climber that doesn't have to retire.
This Doctor is inhumane. I was referred to this Doctor over 10 years ago and had to cancel the surgery twice in advance, due to MENINGITIS and almost dying in hospital! Which took months to recover from! In addition, I had was disabled and had to have back surgery, plus I had a baby! It was a terrible and disabling time in my life. This Doctor's response, was to send my GP a letter kicking me out of their office and refusing service. My GP was APPAULED at how this Dr. Perey treated me. She was going to write him a letter, but I thought why bother! A decade later, I am still having problems with my hands, and my replacement GP sends me to this DR. PEREY again, and the office DECLINES to see me or have me as a patient, due to the cancelled surgery a decade ago for disabling reasons that were completely OUT OF MY CONTROL, because he apparently lost money because he couldn't fill the surgery SLOT. INHUMANE and obviously all about the MONEY! Serious what kind of DOCTOR doesn't understand illness and disability! SHAME ON YOU!
I think the negative reviews here are from some really sensitive people in pain and I understand that. I recently was referred to Dr. Perey for a Ganglion cyst removal. It would be my second because it grew back after my last surgery with a different Doctor. I was relieved to know I was in good hands, one of the best lower extremity specialists in the lower mainland. I’ve been referred to Dr. Perey 4 years ago for a second opinion on my bicep tendon, he was super caring and professional. He looks at the situation like a scientist with care, you’ll get all the facts about the procedure and it’s up to you to take it on. My last Ganglion operation with a prior Doctor was a nightmare, it lasted 45 minutes, the tourniquet was placed on my bicep and it was so painful. The Doctor at the time had 2 nurses just standing around talking about hospital politics while the radio was playing a pop rock station loud enough to be really annoying while you have your wrist splayed open. All this digging around and at the end she said she didn’t get it all... The operation with Dr Perey was Leaps and Bounds better. It took 10 minutes, I had 2 professional surgeons working on my wrist, the tourniquet was on my fore arm so I didn’t feel any pain, and the incision was closed so well that it didn’t even bleed and healed up super fast. These guys are the best in town hands down. They explained the risks to me before I agreed to the operation. I am so glad I did. If it does grow back, I’ll know that Dr. Perey did everything he could for me. Thanks man you and your team are solid gold in my books.
The receptionist is extremely rude and unprofessional both in person or through her emails. She interrupts patients half way through their sentence and gets frustrated at having to do multitask. She gives you appointment via email but forgets to put it in the schedule then you show up and she doesn’t even acknowledge it and you end up having to wait 1.5 hr to see the doctor. You send an email to get an appointment for specific day of a week since she barely answers the phone and she doesn’t even read your email and gives you an appointment for some other day then back and forth for weeks before you can manage to get an appointment. For a highly established doctor, I’m really surprised of his choice of receptionist.
I had crushed my hand in a garage door. On each of my visits over several months dealing with Dr Perrey I had to reintroduce myself, he barely registered me as a person. He and his "team" sure make a show of it but after surgery by him my hand was as bad if not worse. Months of emails, calls and trying to follow up with him by me, my physiotherapist and worksafe got nothing but the answering machine and no call back. 10 months later I've had to have another surgery and a pin in to fix what he couldn't do. Terrible doctor, even worse person.
From start to finish my experience with Dr. Perey has been incredible. I broke my elbow at the beginning of August, he performed surgery on me in mid August and I am back to full range today (September 24). I heard so many good things about Dr. Perey and they are all true. He truly is a miracle worker. He is professional, talented, compassionate, and very kind. I am forever grateful that he was the one to perform my surgery!
I fell and shattered my elbow into 3 pieces in 2014. Dr. Perey performed a miraculous surgery on me at Royal Columbian hospital. It could not be done any better. He is one of the best upper extremities orthopedic surgeons in BC if not the best.
Dr. Perey did my surgery today and it took less than 15 minutes. Absolutely, he is one of the best. He is professional, and knowledgeable . His staff are very friendly and kind and great in follow up and replying to emails. Highly recommended.
Bad experience.
Dr. Perey performed hand surgery on me three days ago. I was thoroughly impressed by the professionalism and care given by the entire surgical team.
This man is less than awful. He was the rudest, least understanding professional I have ever visited. He should have his license revoked.
Read some horrible reviews and was prepared for long wait and short service. I can not tell you how WRONG the reviews are. Dr. Perey was punctual 6 minutue wait from my scheduled appointment. Very very attentive to hearing my issue. And booked surgery by end of appointment. Thank you, thank you, thank you Dr. Perey. Also folks do NOT relay on BAD Reviews that have been made. They are sooooo very WRONG! Great Doctor..... getting super excited for my surgery date! YYIIIPPPPEEE!
Not the experience I expected from a surgeon with such a high reputation. Waiting room was packed & I waited 30 mins past my scheduled appt to see the Dr. He was far too busy to give proper time to evaluate me, dismissing my complaint with an off-handed remark. My neurologist is still waiting for his report after nearly a month.
Was referred to him from emergency for a finger chopped on a table saw he looked at said it would be fine and sent me home told me it would be fine. within 3 days I my finger was turning black in parts and extremely putrid pus coming out of it. This should have never happened haven't been addressed properly in the first place. I would never recommend him to anybody.
Dr perey was great he repaired the damage the previous dr did. He's straight forward tells it like it is the news he gave me wasn't very good for my career but he walked me through options the good and bad my arthritis is so bad but I walked out of he office without a question of what happened and what to do next I'll refer him to anyone with a injury great doctor and extremely knowledgeable great surgeon.
Do not give Dr. Perey your service now matter how much you need it. He's a bully, and an impatient cruel man with no respect for his clients. Forget this place. Zero stars.
The worst experience! He has a lack of professional manners. Do not use this Surgeon!!!
This is my second time I was referred to this office and referred to two different doctors. Both times i had residents come in to exam first my wrist first. Forcing to bend it every which way and then just because I couldn't pin point the exact point of my pain they decided they couldn't diagnose it. Instead of hearing about my pain and trying to understand my concerns they just told me I have to live with my pain. So frustrating. Its been two years and my pains not getting any better. I wish I could find a compassionate caring doctor. So hard to find these days.
Never have I had a doctor be so unprofessional in my life. He and his 3 assistant doctors all laughed at me and walked out laughing at me. I'm 42 years old and I felt like I was 10 and back at school with bullies.
I met with Dr Perry on May 11 to discuss the possibility of repairing my severely damaged left forearm. I really appreciated the time he took to carefully assess my case.
Was out of surgery and using my hand full on within a week and half. Amazed at his work! Ready for right hand surgery!
Surgery on my humerus bone 6 months ago, no post op call. I had to call his office. Xray showed a bone spur that had not been addressed and is causing me ongoing pain. Doctors attitude was cavalier and suggested taken the whole operation apart to redo. His total attitude was very unprofessional and I would not recommend this surgeon.
Excellent service and care. Drs Neufeld and Perey were very caring and forthright.
He’s the best doctor in bc
If I could give dr perey 0 stars, I would. He was unbelievably unprofessional along with his fellow resident who first treated me. He didn’t take any time whatsoever to examine my hand and wrist properly. Told me I have global un specific pain and that he can’t do anything and sent me on my way. When I expressed my concerns he said he didn’t know why I was having the pain but he denied me an MRI because he said it wouldn’t help him. He has no bedside manners whatsoever. He was very short and dismissive. I do not recommend him to anyone, not even my worst enemy. I strongly recommend WORKSAFE BC gets a new specialist. One that is compassionate and gives their patients the time of day.
Is there any way I could place more stars. Merely 5 for his expertise is too low a rating. Aside from the great care, he is also an excellent person to interact with unlike many expert doctors who prefer absolute servitude in their presence. The fact that we have such a wealth of experience available to us on MSP is just more reason that makes BC and Canada great. From the very beginning he has taken extreme care of my mother. In total contrast to the apathy shown by another doctor at Jim Pattison. All praise to God who instilled so much of compassion into this fabulous medical professional.
I was referred to Dr Perey with my broken hand from a car accident. I found him to be thorough and matter of fact. He changed my plaster cast for a vinyl one which enable me to have the use of my hand. He started my on physiotherapy 3 1/2 weeks after my break. It healed just the way he said it would.
Landed on this brilliant surgeons table with a broken elbow and wrist. He placed two joint replacements and I am 100% healed!Dr.perey is kind,knowlegable.professional.Highly recommend!
