The staff in the E,R treated me with respect and were empathetic towards my current health situation. They moved quickly and professionally as a team to expedite my life saving surgery. They have come a very long way in the way they treat people who suffer from what is sadly a socially unacceptable mental illness-addiction. Dr.Spielman is the backbone of the OR and has saved my life-again, he treated me respectfully and with dignity, positively leading his team to do the same. The wound care team and nursing staff on the 3rd floor were all among the best health care professionals I have EVER had involved in my care. I am truly at a loss for words and blown away with my overall experience while in the care of these angels of God at LOTWDH and will be forever grateful. These men and women deserve more recognition as they are a step above any health care team I have been in the care of at at least 3 other hospitals, thank you Dr.Spielman, Joelle (wound care) and the entire team involved in my care, my family and I will be forever grateful as we keep you all in our prayers.

5 and a half hour wait starting at noon on a Wednesday for a prescription of antibiotic ear drops. By far the worst hospital I've ever been to. I can't imagine what it would be like it's it were actually busy. If I could swear on this review, I would.

Wait times are horrendous... if you're dying and go here, you could save yourself a lot of agony and go straight to the morgue. Faster to drive to Winnipeg for treatment. 2 hours and not one person seen from the waiting room! Brutal, just brutal!

Friendly, helpful and caring staff. The Emergency Room does tend to have a long wait time, but that is because going in for a stubbed toe is not an emergency. You are seen rapidly if you are going in for a real or serious Emergency. Otherwise you have to wait until the other actual emergencies are taken care of. All the Nurses are very pleasant and the Doctors are great!

Six hour wait and still not seen, sad thing is I have a doctor and it's a 2 month wait there so there is no other option in Kenora

Excellent compassionate palliative care for my Dad by doctors and nurses. One problem was switchboard/parking lot attendant had no compassion for my Mom who explained her husband was dying and didn't have a credit card (cash payment is discouraged because of COVID) to pay for parking when she was leaving. The attendant was rude to my Mom and said she would definately have to pay for parking next time. How does she pay if they don't except cash? It didn't matter to this hospital employee that my Dad was dying, my Mom didn't have a credit card and there was nowhere else to park!

The Psych Ward abuses patients in their seclusion room. They taunted and mocked me and even shut off the water on me so that I couldn't hydrate. I tried to file a complaint but they just ignored me. This whole ward should be shut down and thoroughly investigated.

Worst Hospital ever! Wait times are seriously horrible, you would literally sit in the waiting for hours! You could drive to Winnipeg and would be seen make it back to kenora hours before this hospital would see you. Someone should definitely open a new hospital and hire a new crew!

What joke min six hour wait on both visits two days apart. On top of all that got in a they couldn’t get my file from two days ago and I had to re-explain my i was there and tell them what the X-ray and ct had on them. You figure your file would be accessible so they can proper Diagnosed.

Just unbelievable. I would recommend driving the several hours to go to another medical health centre than here. Unhelpful, no care taken, and just plain awful experience every time I am here. I will ONLY ever go back if I'm unconscious.

Barely walked in there with a major infection around 830am, by 1030am I was in emergency surgery. The staff were friendly and helpful even if they are over worked and under staffed. The whole place could use a update but I would still go back if I needed help.

While vacationing in the area, I was able to receive my dialysis treatments at LOTW Hospital. I am grateful to the team in the unit for making my holiday possible. The staff were friendly, attentive and accommodating. Thank you to LOTW Hospital and the staff on the 4th floor hemodialysis unit!

I had a mini stroke at the end of October and had to attend the emergency dept. I was seen by Dr Wong, I couldn't have asked for better care, everyone I came in contact with from the person taking my blood samples to the cat scan and xray technicians were fantastic , caring and extremely helpful. Thank you Dr Wong and all the ER staff at the Lake of the Woods Hospital!

The psych ward also known as the fourth floor is a terrible place to be in. It claims to improve your mental health but all it will do is make you worse. The staff abuse their power and degrade you, the psychiatrists don’t even properly assess you which causes them to put you on meds that mess you up, and they usually keep new patients in the isolation room which is a place that really messes with your head. If I could write just how truly horrid that place is, I would be here writing for years. All I can say to conclude is that I’m traumatized and they broke me. Such a place shouldn’t be legal and makes me ashamed to be Canadian.

By far the worst hospital to go to waited 12 hrs to be seen ......best advice go to Dryden hospital if u want to be seen right away....

I was rushed into LOTW district hospital. Dr. Armstrong and the nurses saved my life. They are my hero’s!! Thank you Helping those who are critical, is why others are not seen for six hours. I understand that more then every now!

There is a reason there are no specialist services available here! If you or loved ones have serious life threatening issues seek immediate help elsewhere if you care about them. I would not even send my dog here.

My wife went in and im home with kids and out of town with no transport and they wont let me her husband with the kids let me know if she is ok what is up with that?
