We've got the feddbacks of real people like you who are buying the products and services of Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare (Plastic Surgery) in Iroquois Falls area (Canada).
Now the business gets a rating of 4.2 stars over 5 and that rating has been calculated on 110 reviews.
As you can see its rating is very high, and it is founded on a very large number of scores, so we can be pretty sure that the assessment is quite faithful. If many people have bothered to value when they are happy, it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to write reviews when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Plastic Surgery belongs to the category of Child health care centre.
Dr. Dalberg is fantastic. He treated my daughter and was incredibly kind and compassionate. We are grateful for his care.
Extremely rude pain doctor, Daglberg
I usually go to the burnsville one and it is excellent in every way. The saint Paul location has horrible customer service and has robotic customer service reps. A couple of bad experiences, this young lady decided not to serve me because the way I look. And called and served the family behind me. And another time is an appointment I scheduled 2 months ago canceled without my knowledge. Came to the "the appointment" to find out its rescheduled without being contacted and with no reason to back it up. The doctors, therapists and nurses are amazing I wish those robotic reps get some more training in customer service including diversity and compassion. Peace
Miracles happen here. Staff wonderful in hard situations. Great faculty - great people
Gillette saved the day. After a terrible experience at Children’s Hospital St. Paul, and having my time wasted by two other facilities today, Gillette’s was able to tell us my daughters leg had a toddlers fracture (something children’s overlooked). Our experience was fantastic, the service and care was fast, polite, and caring. Thank you Dr. Cooper in orthopedics, and the nurses who helped us today!
Our recent experience is what pushed me over the edge. We have been lifelong patients at Gillette. My daughters recent stay at the hospital was absolutely horrible. The way our family was treated, the medical neglect and the poor communication by staff was unfathomable. I will not be seeking care for my daughter at Gillette for internal care again. I’m greatly disheartened by this experience. I hope management roles change and overall the organization takes a good look at patient care...
Love this place
I had 2 surgeries in a week and the neuro department took care of me where i come from they dont have doctors who know anything about spinda bifida my shunt malfunctioned and the doctors in my town said the surgery needs to be done right now i told them call gillette hospital and see whst they say they said I'd be fine and they would much rather see me up there than have a doctor who doesn't know anything about spinda birth do the surgery
The Neuroscience Unit was great. I've Never had better experience while with my child in a Hospital for multiple days. All the numerous doctors, nurses & staff we had during our stay were wonderful!
Parking is awful. If you do Valet there is VERY LIMITED HANDICAPPED PARKING
My son sees Dr. Garcia for sleep issues. He has been nothing be wonderful - easy to work with and has genuine concern for my son's issues. Wonderful bedside manner.
My son had a specialty surgery done here, and the staff and facilities are top notch. We were made to feel welcome and secure, and all questions where answered by knowledgeable staff.
They line the walls of the hospital with plaques showing millions of dollars in grants but it's hard to see where that money has gone. After a little time spent their it becomes apparent what is going on their. It is a collection of children that are born to extreme wealth from around the world that bring "shame" upon the family because of special needs grandchildren. Therefore they use their wealth to push through the immigration process to unload the special needs grandchild along with the mother onto a place they can be taken care of on someone else's dime. Screw the local children that could much more efficiently be helped.
To kevin Jannsen and others in his situation. The guide they have says you can at any time request information about services including costs. But Minnesota's patient bill of rights item #14 States that patients SHALL BE INFORMED.... "14. Disclosure of Services Available Patients shall be informed, prior to or at the time of admission and during their stay, of services which are included in the facility’s basic per diem or daily room rate and that other services are available at additional charges. Facilities shall make every effort to assist patients in obtaining information regarding whether the Medicare or Medical Assistance program will pay for any or all of the aforementioned services.
Good service
Nice service
Excellent care by a truly caring staff. Every single part of this hospital is exceptional and doctors never ever make you feel like you are not on the same level as them. Their holistic approach to their patients really sets them above and beyond care we have received elsewhere(not that's it's even been bad elsewhere, they just set the bar so high it would be impossible to compete). I'm so happy to have been referred here for our little love.
Best staff
The people that left poor ratings for this hospital need to learn how to spell and use punctuation. Who would take their reviews seriously?
Because of the nice people...
I may update this post after we actually get to see a specialist. I have heard and read nothing but good things about this hospital. It has been recommended many times during our journey with my son's broken arm. Background: My son severely broke his arm on the playground after school. He had surgery at our hospital, had followups with our Orthopedic surgeon's team, had the humerus pins removed and was determined to have nerve damage and needs a nerve study at Children's because he has lost some mobility in his fingers and wrist. He was to have a hard cast on his forearm but because of the access needed to his brachial nerve for the study he was left in a splint with a pin still in his radius and sticking out of his arm and an ulna broken in three places. The nerve study was to be immediate so we could get the cast back on and start PT on his elbow-which has extra bone growth that we need to try and stop. The Orthopedic center and Children's were to coordinate this referral and get something set up within the same week or the following. Our Orthopedic center kept us up-to-date with the progress of getting our appointment set up. Children's was reviewing our file for over a week (with the Ortho staff calling to check on the progress) before we called. We were told they would get back to us the following day. When they didn't we called and were told that they would set something up for us. For TWO MONTHS LATER! After explaining that this was urgent and the situation with our son's arm/cast/pins the nice woman who was helping us with scheduling squeezed us in for the next week. In an already very stressful situation the lack of attention to our situation and our son's charts and needs has created more stress and hopefully not damaged his arm any further.
Best Healthcare facility I have ever been to! Peds, Ortho, Etc. Very professional and fun for kids, care is excellent.
Great staff, could improve on communication between each other. Excellent facility & friendly, helpful people!
We are lucky to get care at this facility. All of the staff, doctors, nurses, aides, receptionist, cleaning crew, all of them are just absolutely wonderful. Gillette is a top notch facility!
BEST HOSPITAL EVER! Amazing staff! Excellent doctors and surgeons! Nothing is hidden from you! They are on top of things and Answer questions quickley and well! where other hospitals fail to solve a problem, Gillette's team will think outside the box to solve the problem. They use expertise and knolwledge and not go-to, outdated, "cure-alls"! We will always go back for our daughter with spina bifida! T
Recently I had an appointment for my daughter. received an excellent service from all the staffs at Gillete Healthcare. Especially doctor Sundberg and crew is very skilled and talented. Thanks for all you timely service and help ????
The staff has been friendly, however, I find myself being a middle man for appointments that should have been made months ago through them, not me. I'm not a scheduler, I'm a parent just trying to get a surgery for a kid who's pain is getting worse while I'm trying to coordinate things that shouldn't be my responsibility to. Its been over two months since I brought my child in for severe scoliosis. If they even walk for too long they are crying in pain for hours despite Motrin, heat packs and snuggles (theyre seven).... walking, they can't play with their friends for too long, their quality of life is not what it should be..... I felt assured on the first appointment that they would be able to get my child a surgery to help their quality of life. However, it became clear that I would be sitting there begging different locations for appointments to allow the surgery to happen, with little to no help. I had to figure out cardio appointment, respiratory appointment, genetics appointment, e.t.c.... I had to call back many times to ask when I could get the required scans and when the surgery was even supposed to be. Every time id be told they'd get back to me...... and I'd wait for up to two weeks to hear a bunch of nothing. Meanwhile.... I have to listen to my child crying upstairs in utter pain because they wanted to go pick agate rocks in the yard..... does that sound like quality of life? I would have gone elsewhere, but there's nowhere to go. All I know, is that they need to fix this horrible communication and collaboration problem that they are having. Parents shouldn't have to worry about this.... children shouldn't have to suffer like that. They should just have to worry about showing up and getting the care they need.
They have a great cafe. Breakfast sandwiches are awesome.
My daughter broke her toe and had to come here for follow ups, so glad we did! Her doctor was fantastic and made sure she wasn't worried about anything, and he explained everything in depth. The waiting room area is so welcoming as well, and the nurses are the kindest most positive people. Would recommend!!
We have been bring our daughter here for over 10 years. They are amazing n I high recommend them. The almost help with getting you in when you need to get in. They always try to coordinate all our appointments into one day since we live over 3 hours away.
Wonderful caring staff
So my daughter had surgery at Children's Gillette and she had stomach pain ever since. The pain has worsened and everyone is giving us the run around. The doctor that perform the surgery said it may be tissue caught in the surgery scare. Told us he would have his nurse call us and never did. No doctor will investigate this they keep saying go back to the old doctor. My daughter is crying her eyes out and throwing up and they won't fix this. I trusted them and she's still paying for it.
Thanks Gillette Children's for making me be what I became, im 21 now and I had surgery done by dr novachek when I was almost 2 years old, he was the best doctor I've ever had, and the doctors I currently have dont even come close.❤
My daughter Heather was a parient there for years
Amazing doctors and nurses.
Doctors talking about their personal life while we are waiting in room,it took the about half hour to finally get to work
I'm sure this hospital helps some children. But that was not the case for us. They are very pushy and refuse to listen to a parent's say and always trying to sell us stuff. 4 days and 24k later our daughter left in worse shape than before and they refused to do her surgery because they said she would die. We ended up having to take her to a Shriners hospital to get the care she needed. All the "issues they were worked up about wasn't a real issue at all but a scare tactic to get their way. Just disgusting!!!!
The best of the best
Jane Allen is amazing. She is the most caring, kind professional and has a great can do attitude with her patients. She was completely dedicated to getting the highest quality care to my son. She also worked directly with his school to make sure they understood his situation.
I had a 2 surgery with Novacheck he is very good I recommend him
I had very bad time I am still regret my wife had baby in this hospital I work in the hospital I never treated people the way they did to my wife
Dr. Novacheck and Dr. Schriffern did an incredible job on my orthopedic surgery. The anesthesiology team put me at ease. The nurses did an incredible job with their patient care. They were very attentive to my needs and kept me comfortable and my pain under control. I would recommend gilette to any parent of a child with a disability or complex medical condition receiving surgery.
Excellent hospital for people with disabilities and cerebral palsy to get help
Very happy with services! Making appointments not so easy. But overall GREAT PLACE!
Our son got really bad staph infection during the week of Christmas so we spent several trips to the emergency room and got him transferred to Gillette on Christmas day. The care in this hospital was amazing, from the moment we got here we were overwhelmed with the level of care. From the person who cleans the room to the teams of doctors, nurses and support staff, literally took care of our every need. Our family has had a tough couple of years with medical bills and they even helped with my hotel bill while my wife stayed in the room with my son. There are no words that can express our gratitude for the care we received, they saved my son's life and for that our family will be grateful for the rest of our lives.
Horrible experience with neurosurgery . Maggie Kaeting was extremely rude . Did not listened to what I was saying, and voiced her opinion S Extremely dissappointed in how I was treated today ,
Region Hospital 644 Jackson st St Paul MN
We took our one daughter there and we brought our 3 year old daughter with us. They not only made me feel very confident and comfortable with them but they treated our 3 year old like royalty! It made the whole day that much easier
Such an amazing place! Our 2.5 yr old broke her leg so we were referred here. The doctor she saw Dr Megan. Was SO nice and just amazing. The casting people were amazing too! It’s a month later and she got her cast off today. Everyone was just great and so kind! Highly recommend this place!
Love Dr.Novak best Dr there ????????????????????
Welcoming, caring and inclusive
Scheduling is a nightmare there. They gave medical equipment other hospitals don't have which made the mri experience better for my baby.
Gillette is an amazing place. They take such good care of us when we are there. :)
I recently had surgery, the staff and volunteers have made it a good experience. It’s been awhile since I’ve had any procedure or inpatient hospital stays. While I was on the adult unit, dogs were able to come visit which made me really happy. Even though I have been in and out of the hospitals, I never had an issue.
Terrible. Communication is the worst at Gillette. The providers don't communicate with you about your child outside of your 15 min appointment. They don't communicate with each other. They do not follow through when they say they're going to follow up with you. When you call, good luck actually speaking to the care team. There is no real coordination of care and we go to Complex Care clinic (that is literally their job!) They cancel appointments last minute, no explanation given. The facility is not well kept, bathrooms not stocked. No paper roll for the large changing table, no sanitizing wipes for cleaning the un-papered changing table, no gloves but there's always an empty box where they should be. The reception staff is rude, they told me "parents should bring their own". So I should start traveling with a paper roll and big tub of Clorox wipes? You want to use a water fountain? nope, but hey there's a vending machine that sells bottled water for $3. You have to pay for parking at each visit and the valet service is backed up and slow af. This is a hospital for special needs kids but no thought is given to what that means for families. I've never been to a more unaccommodating healthcare space. They need to visit Madison, WI and see how a well run children's hospital operates.
We had an Appt in May and we haven't gotten anywhere with my child's care it is now October. I have been calling weekly and have yet to talk to anyone about the next steps for my sons care. We left super optimistic that we choose the right place, however now we are wishing we had went to the Mayo. Update: Once they realized that we had fallen to the waist side the provider was awesome !! They did everything they could to try and make things right and get the ball moving on my child's care. But very hard to get in contact with a RN or Dr only talked with Schedulers.
the staff was excellent. the care was great. we have never seen anything like this. the Ronald McDonald guest room was Amazing.
Great hospital and clinic
Terrible place very slow!!!
Very unhappy with my son’s last visit to Gillette. We were choosing comfort for our complex son. However, we knew something wasn’t right so we brought him in. Dr. Kruse said she was going to run a bunch of tests and within 10 minutes came back with a changed mind. Basically telling us there wasn’t anything they could do for us. Tests answers were never clear the maybe one test they ran, I had to ask several times to even have any tests done. It felt like because he was so fragile, it didn’t really matter because of his life Expectancy being not long. After getting zero answers, my son did pass away, from what we have no clue. We were basically turned away from testing. It’s sad. I very unimpressed the two times; I had dr. Kruse she always talked in circles about what she was going to do and changed her mind several times- I felt like it was because we were choosing comfort. My child still counts and still has a purpose though. We also very saddened by some comments made by dr. Wheeler at another visit to me as a mom, telling me my son can’t live at the hospital is completely Inappropriate- listen to your parents we know our children the best. Also if a child’s oxygen drops and you need to bag them CALLL don’t casually say it in conversation, like I was supposed to know.
My son had an eeg and I was very pleased with all the staff. He hates to sit still and people touching his head (hes 19 months) and they remained calm and didn't get frustrated. They came and checked every hour and asked if we needed anything. The nurses all said that he is so cute and adored him. At 1 point I had a bad experience with dominos pizza, I was told by the nurses I could order from there and have it delivered and the delivery driver was being so rude to me. Called me 2 times being rude so the nurse took my phone and listened and tried to direct him where to go, keep in mind I'm not from around there but it's the easiest directions to get to gillettes, which at this point I'm crying from everything not just the dominos guy. She gave me a huG and said she would talk to the manager there for me. My son didn't like the crib the 1st night and I thought we were staying 2 so I requested the bed so they changed it but we got sent home early but they even were willing to change the bed. Amazing staff!! Made me feel so welcomed and so better about the day. It also kept me calm.
Caring staff.
We took our daughter there for mild case of scoliosis and was recommended a brace. While the experience with the Dr. and staffs were pleasant, we got a shocking bill for over $7000.00 for the Brace. We understand that it is a custom Brace but never would have imagine that it would be more than 7K. No one in the Brace department or anyone would even mentioned of the price until we got the bill. I did do a bit of research in the internet for the scoliosis Brace before we went in and they all are less than 200.00. That is why we neglected to asked how much, even custom made I would think it will be probably just several hundreds. 7K ??? Be WARNED!!!!.
The care is amazing and I couldn't ask for more caring staff
I was there for four weeks, helped me gain back leg movement after I lost the ability to walk
The Care we have received is fantastic. This review is only about the St. Paul billing practice. Don't care for their billing practices. Son was referred there and since it is also a hospital and clinic you have to pay 2 copayments. They set it up like you have 2 separate appointments for billing when you really don't. We had an appointment and they billed up for our copayments as they told us they would do. We paid the bill and months later was told we never paid. When I showed them the payment they said that was for one part of the visit and I had to pay a copayment for the other part. Go to one of the suburban offices of Gillette's and you can see the same Doctor and get the same service but only billed once as it should be. I'm sure at the hospital there is a logical reason that makes sense to them but seems like a scam to get more money which might be the logical reason.
My daughter has a very complex array of medical surgeries and we couldn't imagine a better place than the Dr's and staff at Gillette! They not only gave us hope, but they gave us our daughter her life back. She is having another complex surgery there next week and we know Gillette is the best place for her to be.
Excellent caring attention given to all.
Normally I have absolutely loved Gillette Children's. However, we started the process of ordering adaptive strollers for two of our children many months ago. As of yet, they have not contacted insurance to get the claim started, according to my insurance rep. My kids are unable to go to school without the adaptive strollers. I am very upset about the lack of progress. Update: The vendor submitted the insurance claim but it was denied because Gillette didn't give all of the needed info that insurance needs. The vendor has been trying to contact Gillette to get that info. They cannot get a response. I call and am told by the receptionist that my message was sent high priority. Three days later nothing. So I call again and get more voicemails. Leave urgent messages and still nothing. Most people would be fired for refusing to do their jobs.
Research your expected cost in advance of scheduling!! My daughter recently broke her arm and required surgery prior to putting a cast on. We had a good experience at the hospital and the staff were great in keeping my daughter in high spirits. Given the good care, I proceeded to schedule follow up care check-ins. I signed an insurance consent form at the hospital indicating there would be separate physician and facility charges for the visit. That was expected, since I was in a hospital. However, what was not made clear to me is that ALL follow up care would also include outpatient facility charges, even though follow up care was received in their “clinic” location and not at a hospital. Additionally, the bill for my daughter’s surgery was received just about a week after the date of service. However, no bills were received for any of the follow up care until the full course of treatment had completed. And every one of those appointments had separate facility charges on them. I reached out to Gillette to talk about this situation and they were unsympathetic, effectively stating that it is the patient’s responsibility to figure out for himself/herself that Gillette bills outpatient facility fees for each visit. I felt like I was taken advantage of and I hope others can learn from my experience.
The staff here has been amazing. We have a very complex kiddo and treated him with compassion and patience. The only down side: do not! I repeat do not trust Melanie Rouse! She is a wolf in sheep's clothing. One of the biggest fabricators I have ever met in my life! Smiling at your face, telling you it's o.k., while writing down complete lies and we are all suppose to trust her. She is the PICU and neuroscience social worker. Do NOT trust her!
one of the best hospitals!!
Great staff! Sad to see our Neurologist Dr. Speltz leaving she was amazing with my daughter.
Devil's workshop
