I went into the emergency room on the Monday of the August long weekend with a shoulder injury, after I crashed my bike. The staff were amazing. There were a fair number of patients waiting so I was a bit deflated, thinking things were going to be a long time (4-6 hours). But, I was actually processed quite quickly, as were the other patients, and this is all happening in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic! I had to wait about 40-50 minutes in the pre-holding area but they tied a sling on me, then was taken to an examination room. I was then provided a nice, warm blanket (I was only wearing bicycle shorts and a tank top), and then the nurse (Jez) asked questions and did a quick examination while another nurse put an IV in my hand in case they needed to put me out (they didn't). She cleaned up my road rash and bandaged my knees and then I waited for about another 40 minutes for the doctor. The doctor did a quick assessment, said she thought it was a separated shoulder, but they were going to do x-rays. Then another nurse wheeled me in the bed to the x-ray room (which was fun) and I was quickly processed for x-rays by the technician. Then, another fun ride back to the examining room. Jez the Nurse came back and gave me some Tylenol and Advil, explaining that that combo was good for the kind of musculoskeletal pain I was experiencing. Then, the doctor came back and said, yup, I had separated my left shoulder and that I would need to wear a sling for a bit and that I would be booked for a visit to the fracture clinic at CVH. She asked a few more questions and that was it! Jez the Nurse provided me with a printout I needed to give the fracture clinic and said that they clinic would phone me with my appointment in a couple of days. She mentioned that things can get hectic on a holiday weekend so just give the clinic a couple of days to call and if they don't, call them on Thursday or so. Jez gave me another sling, and I was on my way! I didn't time it, but looking at the texts to my husband, I probably went in around 12:45 PM and was done by 3:10 PM. So, just a shade under 2.5 hours. That's pretty A-OK in my books! And, all the staff were SO nice and patient! No one was irritable or snappish. There was an elderly man in the room next to me and I could hear him speak quite peevishly to the nurses and other staff, but they maintained their professionalism and pleasantness; it didn't even sound forced! I was very impressed because while it was obvious he was not fully competent, he was being quite provoking and critical of their efforts. I don't know if I could have held back! Lastly, I received a phone call from the fracture clinic the very next day, with my appointment for the following Monday. So, they were on the ball, too. I wish I could do a shout-out to all the staff at CVH who helped me on August 3rd, but I only got the name of Jez the Nurse. The other 5 or 6 staff (all women!) who help me, including the doctor, were just superb. Thank you for providing such great care. :)
Unbelievable Staff, Very clean mother & child Faciltiy, VIP birthing suites, Our Nurses were most curtious extremely professional from the Delivery assessment Centre - to Labour room to the General Ward. We are nothing but full of praise for the staff, the hospital and the facility itself. i have never come across such an amazing people..Doctors, Nurses, Cleaning Ladies & the list goes on.....I will never stop praising The Credit Valley Hospital. Adnan Khan
I went to the drive through Covid testing ..... Had a great experience. The nurse (Cecilia) was great. she has a great attitude, done a great job explaining the process, and truly went above and beyond in her customer service. I so not used to such a treatment from staff at Credit Valley.
DR HOPPER AT THE EMERGENCY IN MISSISSAUGA WAS THE BEST DOCTOR EVER. HE'S SOOOO KIND & COMPASSIONATE. THE NURSES NOT SO MUCH QUITE RUDE ... THE WAITING TIME IS THE WORST BUT DR HOPPER MADE UP FOR IT , THX DR HOPPER MAY GOD BLESS U ???? MY HOMETOWN IS OAKVILLE BUT BC I WAS IN SO MUCH PAIN I COULDN'T GO TO MY HOSPITAL IN OAKVILLE SO I HAD NO CHOICE TO GO TO THE MISSISSAUGA ONE & IM GLAD I DID BC OF DR HOPPER ????
Always felt bad for majority of Canadians who haven't been to other countries including [third world] and have never twigged that health care in Canada is simply one of the worst it mainly exists so that you can support from your hard earned income the biggest cheats and crooks including blokes sitting at CV hospital. Never ever have i faced more unprofessional and rude attitude from medical entities anywhere than in Canada, and i have lived in quiet a lot of countries including North America, European and Asian. Canadian health care system simply sucks. One hospital may suck a little less than the others, but it wont get better than this if it continues to operate the way it is.
Worst experience in my life.my brother was feeling lost of pain due to injury.. nurses over here said only one things ,you need to wait.is this emergency service ? We were waiting for more 2 hours.. in emergency situations. Seriously ???? ,someone should take some serious step against this service.
Doctors nurses receptionist all nice and very professional and polite I took by daughter with fever and was look after got in there at 10:20 after 11:20 to 11:40 came out there was people longer and it was full how ever I can’t complain it’s winter and everyone is getting sick but the service was great even though it was full!
Terrible terrible experience. It’s already known that in emergency the average wait time is 6-8 hrs to see a dr but my mom 73 yrs old post knee replacement surgery, was brought in, in an ambulance having fainted and in excruciating pain and they kept her waiting for 6 hours with no blankets and no pain meds she kept screaming and no one attended to her until she passed out again! They then put a catheter and IV in and when she woke up she had a catheter and IV in her. Also we were not told all this at all having called multiple times. The staff is not honest at all, they hide facts and truth. She got moved to surgical ward 1A and the staff there are terrible, unsympathetic and extremely uncaring. All the seniors are not attended to properly. Post knee replacement my mother is a fall risk and the nurses have refused to accompany her to the bathroom in the middle of the night when she is drowsy. Her chest CT was delayed 2 hours only because the night nurse was MIA for atleast 2 hours and missed the 4 am cortisone tablet that my mom was to be given. My mom kept calling for 2 hours and she was told by different ppl that her night nurse is busy. Busy for 2 hours and missing to give a patient their meds? She came back at 6am and told my mother it is no big deal you can do your CT later! Unbelievable! Then my mom asked her to accompany her to the bathroom as she hadn’t slept all night and was drowsy and she refused. This is after multiple times of being informed by doctors and the family that she is a fall risk. Why do people like this go into this profession? This is unacceptable. Surgical ward 1A has the worst staff I’ve seen anywhere. It is extremely heartbreaking to see the seniors suffering in this ward. There seems to be no consequences for the nurses hence this kind of behavior continues. It’s mostly happening with seniors who don’t have their families around who are vulnerable. The staff should be ashamed of themselves. My mother even asked me not to complain for fear they will be worse with her…can you believe this? Patients are fearful of the staff! If the hospital is reading this Please take action
I have been to the fracture clinic as a patient multiple times over the course of the past several months under the care of Dr. James Rofaiel. Each time I have attended the clinic, I was greeted promptly and courteously by staff. Dr. Rofaiel was ALWAYS on time and punctual. He always answered all of my questions and addressed my concerns, as well as, performing a thorough examination. He is a brilliant young physician, and I am grateful to have fallen into his hands for care:) Thank you to ALL of the staff at the Credit Valley Hospital Fracture Clinic for your hard work and speedy service. Your commitment to health care and level of professionalism are appreciated!!!
Love this hospital. Had my first baby here and had the greatest experience ever. All the nurses were great.
My Mom was admitted here, my brother and stayed with her at Credit Valley (2B section) for 2 weeks. All the nurses, the support team, the floor manager Mr. Ryan , Dr Hayworth and Doctor Osborne were extremely helpful and genuine care givers for my mom and provided much needed emotional support for the family. Thank you All.
Overall experience for my first time giving birth, thanks to the caring and hard working nurses in the Labour and Delivery ward, was a comfortable (as comfortable as it could be given the situation) and amazing one. Once I was admitted into Labour and Delivery, the nurses from start to finish in that unit were absolutely amazing. They made me feel secure, comfortable and constantly cared for. More importantly, they knew exactly what they were doing! Apart from the brutal wait times in the days leading up to my labour (3-4 hours waiting in the Labour Assessment Unit for a Doctor to assess how far along I was and if I was ready to be admitted), Credit Valley Hospital does an amazing job with the care, support and services they provide both mothers and babies. As a first time mother, I'm grateful to have had this hospital, Dr. Kanee, and the L&D nurses deliver my baby safely. Thank you Credit Valley Hospital!
Worst hospital I have ever been into, services is bad, we asked for specific type of food for the past four days and they just ignore our request. The nurses are really nice but some are not professional at all and don’t know what their doing and most have them have a rude attitude towards a simple request. They don’t care about the patient at all. Absolutely the worst hospital.
Long time on waiting, don’t know in ER why there is a long time of waiting even after crossing all the steps to reach doctor.
You are all the foundation of Canada and it's finest, and I hope that history looks back on you with the the respect and love that you all, in hospitals across Canada, deserve. You are the front line.
I spent 7 weeks there and they saved my life. They were very kind and caring. They nurses were polite, mind you so was I, unlike some patients. Remember, they have a hard job, a long shift, and they are there to help you, so they deserve your respect. They also show respect in return. THERE IS NO OTHER HOSPITAL I WOULD HAVE RATHER SPENT 7 WEEKS IN.
Extremely long wait time for ultrasound appointments, they ran 90 mins late with me keeping a full bladder as instructed, am now in pain for days after.
Far better than I expected. Friendly staff, helpful and very thorough, waiting time was a bit extensive but I guess this isn’t surprising due to the overall state of the Canadian health care system. 4/5
We went to the hospital on Sunday night with my daughter's abdominal pain. The nurses took such an amazing care to make her feel comfortable. After many tests, she needed an emergency surgery which went very well. The surgeon and nurses took an amazing care and were very understanding and caring. God bless all the nurses, doctors and everyone involved in taking care of my daughter and making our stay as comfortable as possible.
Ive been waiting here for 9 hours to be called i have an infected tooth that caused my face to swell a bit. This hospital is extremely slow and the staff lacks Compassion for their patiants
My son elbow was dislocated on Sunday. There are few patients in hospital. But we are waiting couple of hours for doctor. One minute the elbow will be connect. Waste a lot time!
Worst emergency care ever They didnt checked my brother for 45 mins who was in kidney stone pain until he passed out.
Good hospital, good staff, introduced new system EPIC one month ago, their problem is the blood lab delays that is hindering all other departments in the hospital, you can easily wait 3-4 hours for lab results, staff are very friendly and cooperative within limitations to the new system.
Nurses and doctors are very nice. But the wait just to receive results was WAY TOO LONG... it was very frustrating sitting and waiting 2 hours while your result sit waiting for a doctor to review it. Extremely Annoying.
Doctors in ER are phenomenal people, kind and caring and very thorough. Sincere thanks to Dr. Link and Dr. Koltin for their care and attention.
We recently had a baby boy at the hospital. It was such a pleasure being there. Starting all the way from High Risk clinic to Operating Surgeon to great Nurses at the ward I love every bit of it. We would like to thank all involved in our child’s birth. Special thanks and mention to Dr. Cohen, Dr. Menzies, Dr Tigert and to Maria at Mother and Child unit. Thank you everyone. You made our journey easier, smoother and happier. Kudos to the entire team.
I was very disappointed by the treatment I received very unprofessional treatment from multiple nurses. Being told if I wanted to go home that I wasn't being held hostage. Then when confronted about this she denied saying it. I was given the wrong meds and again that was blamed on me, the patient. I was made to feel very upset and was there due to a respiratory condition that was worsened by the stress that the staff put on me. In my opinion this is unacceptable behaviour from people who are supposed to be caring professionals. I ended up signing myself out due to the stress that was being put on me. Very upset by my experience. Will not go back to this hospital under any circumstance.
I will NEVER be going back.. I went in originally for a simple check to see if i was pregnant.. After being there for over 5 hours they finally told me i was..blah blah blah i got discharged..but at that point i had not had anything to eat.. I went to buy some food and my bank card wasnt working so i asked a nurse if they might have ANYTHING i could put in my stomach because i havent eaten and i was feeling dizzy. I was worried i might pass out while waiting for my ride.. I got told because i was no longer a patient i should just go home and eat..so naturally i freaked out a little..After having me run all over the hospital on a wild goosechase for a sandwich i finally lost my temper with the emergency room and was able to get something to eat... On a seperate note i also had a horrible encounter while taking my boyfriend here.. He has an infection in his gums, he woke up with half his face swollen and in pain so we rushed him into the emergency room..which was a NIGHTMARE!! we waited and waited and finally went in, then got sent somewhere else where we waited and waited while patients with minor problems came and went .We waited more than 4 hours!! For him to get a few tylenol so we could WAIT 2 MORE HOURS! he finally saw a doctor at 11pm and got a prescription. Now, our ride home was fairly upset because it was WAY passed her sons bed time, so we were on a mission home so she could get back to her son.. We asked for a tylenol before we leave so my boyfriend could make it through the night till we could get the prescription in the morning..and we got a printed list of the 24 hour pharmacies instead..
This is the worst hospital I have ever visited in Canada when it comes to emergency care. I have been waiting for 7 hours and still nothing has been done. The nurses have no idea of what is going on and even when a patient tells them that they are back from xray 30 minutes later is asked by another nurse if I have returned from xray!!! An 1.5 hours after the xray I still have not been seen by a doctor and am still waiting. Staff is very rude to patients. The Doctors that I saw was very pleasant.
Emergency department is open 24 hrs...3 hrs of waiting. 1 doc. This hospital needs to get better at accommodating patients. As of now with many people waiting, they need more than 1 doctor at night. It’s ridiculous. And then you have the nurses and staff just chilling around while others are panicking and worried. Seriously need to reconsider priorities
They need to get more feedback from patients and visitors then work on enhancements
Totally organized for covid and very happy to help everyone. Volunteers are wonderful. Emergency Department is outstanding.
Great nurses and service. Are a little rough on the newborns in my opinion though.
I am a postpartum Doula and my clients returned to the breastfeeding clinic that is offered here as this was their delivery hospital. Unfortunately, their experience was not very positive. They were a few weeks postpartum and went in with their baby for additional breastfeeding support. They were judged by the number of weeks postpartum they were and questioned how they even got in when there were so many newborns waiting to have an appointment. They were told to give it two weeks and then make a decision to either continue breastfeeding or quit. They were advised certain things without proper examination. Overall, my clients were quite disappointed by the atmosphere and their experience when they were just looking for some help and support during this journey
The hospital and the staff are great depending on what time you visit. During really busy hours, you could end up waiting 4 hours in the emergency room.
Amazing Experience???? Stayed for 3 nights for a small urgery, Despite how busy the doctors and nurses were, they went beyond my expectations of comfort during my stay. A special thank you to my attending nurses(Lisa and team. You were all so considerate, and kept me posted as much as possible. I would have been lost and far more stressed without your support. To Doctor Kosmo, thank your for taking time to explain diet and medication details vital to my recovery. Again, thank you all for making a stressful time as comfortable as one could hope for!
Worst hospital ever, the nurses are beyond rude, full of attitude, non helpful, no one communicates as to where you should wait or go and then get upset when you’re waiting in the wrong area. You’re waiting hours on end for ultimately nothing bc there’s a strong lack of communication, worst place ever, do yourself a favour and don’t go here
I have been trying to talk with someone from the financial department about a payment for 2 weeks, leaving voice message too. However, theh never answer the phone or call me back!
Had a great time don’t understand all the negative reviews it’s a hospital not the taj mahal
My wife went to emergency for her UTI got checked and registered. The Worst they let her wait for 8hrs before get back the result of her test etc. Canadian Hospital Policy let you wait for hours or maybe days. All hospitals are the same, I’m disappointed, frustrated. Everyone pay taxes but someone else get the benefits. It’s getting worst and worst. More negative reviews will come out....we all do our part but do your job right! Get it done! Time is gold! Geezzzz....
Wait time in emergency is horrible. Just plain horrible. Waited 8 hours and still no answers. Only good with appointments. Or go through your doctors.
Totally unable to cope with the COVID crisis... if anyone reading this and want to get your COVID test done, go for Toronto western hospital... they are well managed and fast... Trillium Health Partners are not able to manage anything in this Covid crisis.
Clean.
The Service in ER is pretty slow. You visit ER doctor when shift changes or if you are asked to come again u go through blood work again and the wait time for Xray is horrible. You spend the whole daybi bet you
Parking is horrible at Credit Valley Hospital. So bad, missed loads of appointments because it takes well over 30 minutes to find parking while you pay to drive around looking. Most of the nurses in emergency are brutal. No bedside manner. I can write a quite report about the nurses at Credit Valley Hospital. IF YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY GO TO OAKVILLE, MILTON OR ETOBICOKE, INSTEAD. If your are really desperate and you have to go to Credit Valley Hospital, make sure you have someone with you 100% of the time to witness everything and question everything; all the whats and why. Pay very close attention to the nurses behaviour and demeanour; it is very clear that many of them really do not want to be there and have no business in the medical profession! Hello, hospital management. You should be paying attention what patients and tax payers are saying about the services you are offering; the same tax payers that pay for the Ontario health care system and your salaries.
Very nice, professional and good doctors and staff
Absolutely amazing staff and hospital, especially in the 0A Oncology and Palliative care unit!
Better compared to other hospitals, friendly staff. However, they are a bit disorganized.
Mom is sick with covid, we go to emergency and they only want mom inside and no one else, i explained that she needs someone to translate but they keep denying me to go inside more than once, they took my mom inside and have her waiting for a doctor for more than an hour while shes shivering and thirsty and hungry as she couldn't eat for two days while throwing, later on they literally throw her outside the emergency and tell her you fine go home, they know she's bearly able to move, they know they supposed to call me when she good to go but they didn't, i come pick my mom and she tell me other patients had their family with them so why you they didn't let you?! Horrible staff and horrible experiences and after all they didn't even tell her what she need to do Calling these people Hero's. I don't believe so!!!
The nurses in Care Centre D of Emergency lack basic bedside manners and human decency. Not only are they absolutely rude and impatient with those in their care, but they also treat the ward as their own personal areas of socialization and snacking (even going so far as to wheel in a cart full of snacks and eat them and laugh in front of the patients who have been waiting for help for hours). During the night hours in which there are dozens of patients waiting for care, there is only one doctor on-call per Care Centre (and there was only two doctors in total during the night I was there), which is pretty ridiculous. One nurse in particular, by the name of Collette, was extremely rude to one patient who simply asked how long the wait time was in Emergency. When he was told that it was a 4-hour wait from the time of arrival, he told Collette that he couldn’t wait and that he was going home. She openly and loudly mocked him telling him “Okay, bye!”, basically telling him off. The whole ward was shocked by this as we all felt just as worthless to the nurses as that one man did. Our socialized health-care system shouldn’t result in terrible services and a lack of care to patients. I hope that Doug Ford really deals a number on this hospital to teach them a lesson of respecting their job and the patients that they serve. And I’m not even a fan of the Conservatives, especially Ford!
Most day nurses in "Day Surgery G" were awful and heartless. Expected an 80 year old woman to do everything by herself after an open surgery. From going to the bathroom to sponge bathing. The doctors were Fantastic, saved her life.
They need to improve their services. Nurses services sucks
I spent more than two months here in medicine unit E and this is a top notch hospital with great nurses, drs and food. No complaints, I can't stand most hospitals.
My father is receiving palliative care here for his final days, and the team knew that my wedding was coming up. They have been giving him excellent care, doing an amazing job respecting his wishes and keeping him as comfortable as humanly possible, while also caring for us as a family while we try to tend to him. When it became clear Dad would not make it to the wedding date, they very sweetly set up a room for us to have a small ceremony with our family and surprised us by decorating it beautifully, on incredibly short notice from us when it became clear Dad was detereorating. The team here is truly wonderful and went way above and beyond to make the day perfect and special. They even went as far as to make a bouquet and a boutonniere for us! And they pushed my Dad's bed along so I could hold his hand down the aisle. They gave my family and my husband and I a beautiful moment we couldn't have hoped for otherwise, and let me be with my Dad on my big day when I thought I would never get the chance. On top of all of this, they helped us make handprint art and captured audio recording of his heartbeat as legacy work to keep him with us. Thank you so much to the Oncology Palliative care team! You are truly wonderful people, and our family is grateful beyond words.
Waited for 4 hours to get a prescription for an Antibiotic while my ear infection was spreading and i was in pain...
Credit Valley turn the best day of my life into the worst. This is the worst hospital in Canada where the stuff are rude and the doctors are a bunch of beast dressed as people. Thanks to Credit Valley I now have a HORRIBLE phobia to give birth naturally. I just wanna let everyone know that this hospital treat people worst than animals. I was stitched up after I had my baby without anesthesia I remember everyday how Dr. Allan Kanee's needle went in and out of my private parts while I screamed in excruciating pain. That was inhumane, barbaric and now I have all kinds of problems. Thank you for turning the best day of my life into the worst. I hope the government let ALL of you without jobs!!
Went to take someone to Emergency on Sunday August 2,2020 . I was waiting outside all worried this Security gentleman by the name of Marek , who works for Paladin Security was so so nice by acknowledging I had been so worried and frustrated he showed , not only he’s there to do his job but also showed that he’s so caring and nice to patients, visitors etc. Just the way he talks to people makes people feel happy. What amazing service that young gentleman has.
As per my opinion anywhere V go V get some good & some bad experiences but at Credit Valley Hospital overall our experience was great as we had our treatment. Job well done ( Team Work )
My father was diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer on October 16, 2013. He went through bunch of tests before chemo could start in end of November by that time cancer had probably progressed much further from Stage 3 to Stage 4. Dr Strevel - chemo oncologist was assigned. My father received the ECF regiment of drugs. Dad developed skin surface infection so doctor decided to totally stop the chemo treatment for more than 2 weeks and not give any other treatment. This was unnecessary since infection was only at the skin level according to the oncologist we had access to in USA and had all the reports. During this time the Cancer spread to Dad's liver. Mom called the doctor's office again and again because Dad was complaining of excruciating pain. But doctor had gone on vacation for 2 weeks with NO notes for backup doctor. When my mother had asked Dr. Strevel about her notes, she replied that “leaving notes would have may be helped your husband to live one more week”. What gives her the right to decide how much someone can live? How can she decide the worth of that week? My dad passed away on Feb 26th, 2014 leaving me and my family with these horrible memories and distrust towards Credit Valley Hospital and its oncologists. Maybe it was meant to be... But doctor’s carelessness is not acceptable. In my opinion, someone who doesn't value life should not be treating patients. And the way Credit Valley Hospital dealt with my father is also unacceptable. I hope and pray that no one else goes through this kind of experience.
The staff are great and the doctors are super nice. I couldn’t have asked for more.
I had some serious back issues and this morning, ended up at Credit Valley Hospital. I’ve been at the hospital a couple of times in the last two years and the patient care is amazing. You should be so proud of the service you provide. Particularly in these difficult times. THANK YOU!
It is Mississauga East's largest, possibly only, hospital. Patient/customer service could be more urgent and with more empathy. Parking is expensive, and like other hospitals around, emergency parking is also cumbersome, often unavailable or almost a block away!
The new Chief of Psychiatry is great, but the department needs more people. Low-average ED that is in the middle of construction, and always swamped, with sometimes horrendous wait times. Nursing staff is great.
I've been visiting this hospital more than anyone would like to in the past 3 months and have nothing but positive things to say about it. The staff is attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and patient. Yes, I know they can get really busy at times but their triage methodologies really do work and they continue to assess all patients on regular basis. There's a 24 hour Tim Hortons, parking is super easy, and so is the access to pretty much any other department. A special shoutout to all the porters, you guys make a huge difference, thank you. This hospital is located at a prime location, close to a major GTA highway, and other major Mississauga roads.
Got the covid test (had a consultation with a doctor online and the hospital called and booked an appointment for the following day all within the same day). The line up was expedient, the process timely and the administration of the test was informative. They administered proper car side manner and counted down - very compassionate. Thank you.
Great patient care and polite staff
The nurse who attended me for my CAT scan was very rude and was uttering rubbish. She didn't had any manners to talk. It was a very bad experience at the hospitas diagnosis and image department. The hospital must train them for customer service and teach them how to talk to the patient politely.
I normally don't give bad rating online. This time I do. I have gaven birth 2 times at here. The first time I can say I met the good doctors and nurses here but the second time were really nightmare. I think maybe because I am second time of delivering a baby here so they treated me really rude. The nurse asked me to push hard when I only 9 centimeter open and not helping at all. My first time delivering the nurses there helped me to band my leg and push my back, but this time she just standing there and do nothing. after few times she said "oh maybe we should try later cause you are only 9 centimeters open now...." at that time I started upset because I felt she was not serious to response my status. Even when I had 10 centimeters open, she was still standing there and said if I can't push it out I need to do the surgery to get baby out which made me more upset. After couple students came in with the doctor, they helped me to finally get the baby out. Thank you those student I felt they are better than the nurses and hope they can keep it like that when doing their future career. After the baby out, they put me in the delivery room for 2.5 hours and didn't send me to the private room which I was booked already, I felt exhausted but can not get rest at all. In addition, my bill should covered by my insurance company but this hospital mailed it to wrong insurance company and blame me not paying the bill. I contacted the hospital many times and they are not responding my request and send my file to collection company. I have to contact both parties to remove the bad credit off from my credit file which waste me lots of times.
Decent hospital but staff seems overworked. Waiting times can be extra extra long. My girlfriend got stuck in a hallway for 9 hours with a dislocated shoulder because she was "low priority"..
Another worst Tilium Hospital. After spend 7 hours in emergence we came back home. But we found big improvement there I saw and spoke to doctor compare to Trilium Hospital on Hurontario and Queensway. We never examined by doctor only by students there with waiting time 10 hours. We have been told come back next day to make ultrasound. We waited 5 hours to get result. This is not friendly patient care place this is hell for patient. One lady in patient care department "E" was very rude and aggressive. This is place where people are coming to get help. ???????
Well, if you care about your life or family’s life, don't go to this hospital emergency. There is only one doctor to attend the whole hospital. You will wait forever (I am here for more than 8 hours and no signal of a doctor) and they don’t really care if you are sick. The worst hospital in Mississauga, Ontario and I would say Canada. Stay away from this place or you are going to die! We should be ashame of having places like that in Canada.
Any negative reviews from here are ignorant people who would better be served in a coma than writing reviews. This hospital has the lowest Emergency Room wait times in all of Ontario, the staff around are very courteous when you are courteous back, and the cafeteria actually has decent food.
I would like to counteract some negative reviews on here that seem to unjustified to credit valley historical in particular and more channelled toward the Canadian healthcare system in general. In comparison to other hospitals in Toronto area I’ve had nothing but great experiences at CV. Short wait times, excellent doctors and surgeons. This is my go to hospital for healthcare.
My experience at Credit Valley Hospital was above my expectations of any hospital. I was referred to the fracture clinic after a car accident & from the volunteers at the front desk to the nursing staff, and doctors everyone treated myself …
I was told this is the best hospital in the GTA, but when I arrived, I was met with shock (in addition to my pain). Arrived in Emergency with Chest Pains, but the nurse registering patients downplayed it and said there was no need for an ECG. Oh and the line-up. - They made all patients at the emerg line-up to register for a chart. The person next to me had his fingers cut off and he was forced to put a towel over them to stop the bleeding. He still had to line up. It was a busier night than usual, but still, I was experiencing chest pains all the while and was afraid I may pass out. Luckily, I didn't and I finally seen a nurse after being in line for more than 1-hr. I was told to follow the green lines on the floor and when I arrived, none of the nurses greeted me or looked me in the eye. Its almost as if they wanted me to figure it out all on my own. Finally a sign caught my eye and read, "place chart here." Mind you, I am still experiencing sharp chest pains. Almost 4-hours later, my name was called and I was brought into a room with a bed. The bed in this room had the same covering as it did for the previous patients. It was disgusting. The room needed a good mopping and just looked flat out dingy. I said to myself, "If I were to die right now, would I really want my last moments spent in this room?" I waited another 1-hour in this room and the doctor finally arrived. Boy was I ever happy. At this point I thought I was cured, until I stood up and quickly jerked back due to stabbing pains in my chest. The doctor wanted to rule out a respiratory infection, kidney or gallbladder stones and blood clots. He seemed very professional, but after all that waiting, he only spent 2 minutes with me. At this point, you are at the mercy of medical staff. It took another 30-minutes after seeing the doctor to get an x ray done. I had to walk on my own, but was struggling. Every movement I made, I felt a stark pain in my chest. I never experienced this before. The x ray was done. The nurse assisting me was really nice. But she had to do it twice because she messed up the first time. Before I arrived back into the emergency area where my doctor was, a nurse had called my name, but I didn't know it. Frustrated, I waited 20 minutes before I went up to the front desk and asked if someone called my name? A nurse who was slouched over a table in the hallway shouted, "I did!" while pouring samples of urine into test tubes without any spillage...until I noticed the table being 'yellower' than usual. So we found a room, another dirty and filthy room. It smelled and there were plenty of stains on the floor and wall. I didn't feel comfortable taking the needle in there because there were other patients in the room staring at me as I squinted in pain from the chest pains and now this needle. The nurse said "to save time we'll also stick an IV tube in you now, just in case." Talk about being proactive! After 45 minutes of waiting, one of the nurses called my name, again. She asked if I was still in pain. I said, "I can't believe I haven't died yet." She offered to give me a pain reliever. This is where the IV tube came in hand. I sat back down. Now there were 2 doctors in emerg. One kept sitting his patients down in the hallway and discussed their issues aloud. There are so many of us in the hallway, so it's not difficult to over hear. At this point, I think we all felt like a little community because we were all in gowns and practically naked for the common public to see. No privacy. 1 hour later, the doctor comes to see me again. He asked if I was still in pain. I said a bit, but it was masked from pain relief. He said, everything checked out OK, but I still needed an ultrasound. I said sure, this is what I was requesting at 3:30 PM, when I first seen the nurse. He said, I would have to come back the next day and by then, it was 11:00 PM. They told me I had to fast for 12 hours, and the last time I ate was at 3:00PM. I am back for my 11:00AM ultrasound. There's another 2 hour wait. What's the point of an appointment? Oh Canada..
Went because of a severe concussion and was told I have covid symptoms. Wasted 4 hours for 3 Tylenol’s and an Advil. Stop assuming everything is covid related and stop wasting peoples time. The Doctor I had seemed inexperienced. 100% worse then trillium
WORST HOSPITAL EVER. WAS THERE FOR ALMOST 9 HRS AND DIDN'T GET TO SEE ONE DOCTOR. NURSES KEPT SAYING WE'LL PUT YOU IN A ROOM SOON BUT IT WILL BE A COUPLE OF HOURS STILL TO SEE A DOCTOR. NURSES ARE EXTREMELY RUDE AND USELESS!!!!
Worst ever I'm waiting 7 hours to see a doctor and because I'm a black man they dont come attend to me
My husband was taken to this hospital day before yesterday by an ambulance. He had a severe pain and dizzyness he was made to wait for hours for the doctor to never come in and check him.in the morning he got frustrated and told them he wants to go home since they don't want to check him and they let him leave without even checking. They didn't even bother to check for covid. Such a disappointment.
I took my mother for her breathing test. The screening area was a war zone, noisy, packed with people too close in the lobby. I could not hear the staff member! Parking was a disaster. This place has become bad.
2 years ago, I gave birth to my twin boys at Credit Valley Hospital. Everything was great in the beginning. My labour was smooth and the boys were born healthy. Except, after I woke up from a 4 hour sleep after the labour at 8am or so, I had to use the washroom and husband went to get breakfast(we did not eat dinner the night before because we were at the hospital since 8pm). So i thought I would get ready to go see my babies (they were in NICU- cuz they were premature). No more than a minute in the washroom, a nurse banged on the door telling me to go to NICU-. So I rushed a little, but still in a lot of pain and feeling a little disoriented, I couldn't move fast enough. And another 2 min went by, another loud bang on the door telling me to go to NICU- NOW. At first I thought there was an emergency with one of my boys. So husband and I rushed over to NICU-, only to find out the nurse who was in charge of my newborn babies wanted me there because the boys were crying. And the nurse rudely told me "a mother should come quickly to see the babies". I was made to feel so bad about being a new mom. I felt really crappy. That experience was disappointing. I shouldn't have been made to feel like a bad mom because I couldn't get to NICU- fast enough.
if i could give tgis place zero stars i would was in a lot of pain around 11:00pm rushed to the emergency got there by 11:30 waited till 3:00am just to find out there was only one doctor available between 2 deptments and wont be seen until 5 am. I was so frustrated one of the nurses was kind enuff to give me this info otherwise id be sitting there for god nows how long. staff is very rude and not co opertove at all. had the worst experience ever.
I wish I could deal with another hospital. Most of the attendants in the fracture clinic have an attitude from early in the morning.. I swear if it wasn't for the Dr's bedside manner I would have chosen to get her seen elsewhere.
I have been here in this hospital for my wife's labor, this week 27 October, 2020 to 29 October, 2020. I had the worst hospital experience this time, that we had to ask for a discharge at the earliest and rushed home for which we felt, we c o I ld do better by ourselves with YouTube videos. It was good experienced and caring atmosphere at the birth suite and that was the end. We were moved to the mother and baby u n it soon after delivery, and we were in semi suit. I have seen a number of staffs around the nurse stations and I suppose they were really medical staffs., as I haven't seen them doing anything other than sitting in their chairs and socializing all that hours. They comes and goes during their shift ends that's when we get to see them. We being first time parents had lots of doubts.., we were ignorant in lots of areas.., we hardly had any clue. We supposed there be someone who help us to walk through this during our stay. But they were like it's your responsibility as made it it to the world. N I none had any clue on what's happening there. For everyone coming thare, in their entire shift, no one I think gone through a patient report, I actually suspect if they have one. No one knew what is done, what not, what's next. They comes and goes whenever they like and do something, if we didn't acknowledge them, they even do the same procedure twice without thinking, because all they got to do is just scan. They don't have a patient I front of them. They see only objects on an amazon warehouse conveyor belt. We had to call for some help a couple of times, I used the call option on bed.., yeah sure they attended and responded a few hours later. An average time spend for a patient care during a shift is 15 minutes in total. Why? I noticed the patient allocation board, which had they just 3 patients to take care for a shift and how do they spend the rest of the hours..,, file works (which made it easier with scanning-hooe that's ehat it meant for), reports that no one had any clue on, I doubt any one going through a patients report before their rare visits., and even if I doubt anything their in that report to look for ( A security guard's log book will have more information than these well educated, trained, well payed qualified professionals). I wish they have some training from some hospitals in India( for which I know about) to actually learn some real nursing lessons, how they handling 10-16patients in average, documentations, care and all this without losing their smile. Is this what nursing is? What is it then nursing stands for? If they were good at scaning., let them work in shipping.
Average wait times are 8 hours minimum, rude staff all around ????
The Cancer Centre is beautiful and the staff always treated the family top-notch. ER is busy but again the staff has always been good.
Good hospital, specially their New Mother and Baby Section, new and improved Service.
Worst emergency staff ever. We have had multiple awful experiences but recently a family member went in due to severe hip pain and he had to lie down in order to get relief- it was literally the only way he could function. Nurses REFUSED to let him lie down and instead pumped him full of drugs. They took an X-ray of his back, which wasn’t even the problem and then told him it was osteoarthritis of the hip. They sent him home drugged up with no follow up. Turns out he had a kidney stone as well, but the doctors didn’t bother checking his urine for blood. We have spoken to numerous other doctors who were appalled by this when we told them. Never again, I’ll make the trip to another hospital. Shameful. We are yet again back at CVH because that is where the ambulance takes us. I have never met such cold, unfeeling nurses in my life and I work in the industry. They don’t have any empathy for those in pain and spend more time socializing and making inappropriate jokes loudly than anything else. I wish this weren’t the closest hospital to us. Don’t go here to emerg if you don’t have to!! Go to Oakville Trafalgar it is a million times better. The emerg at CVH is a cesspool. Completely disorganized chaos.
I'm writring this review at 4:40AM. We arrive at 3AM because my wife is coughing like crazy and can't even go to sleep. Did some initial quick check up (temp, blood presure, etc.). Then the stuff asks us to wait at some other section saying a doctor will be with my wife. 4AM I asked when was the waiting esitmation, the stuff says my wife's name was 1st on the list and he has no esitmation. 4:30 I asked another stuff, she says the doctor was off at 4AM, and a nurse is coming in at 5AM and there are 4 people ahead of my wife. Nobody told us the info if I didn't ask. I don't think I need to say anything else.
Besides the wait times which are brutal at all hospitals...this is my favourite hospital.
I went to CVH for a medical emergency. I asked for a mask cause I wanted to make sure I was not getting more sick. A nurse by the name of Melanie who works at the rapid assessment area yelled at me and said go and get it yourself I'm not getting up to get it for you. I calmly told her that I was simply asking where it was not for her to bring it to me. She then told me I was gonna get sick anyway. Being sick and having a medical emergency is bad enough, we don't deserve to be treated like that.
My husband I had our baby February 10th and we must say that the nurses (all but one) were amazing and supportive. Dr. Mark was especially excellent and made us feel at ease. They did such a great job at making me feel comfortable and supported while giving birth and everyone was so kind especially our nurses, katelyn, Debbie and Karen(?) forgive me if that wasn’t her name. But all of them did a stand up job making sure we were all ok during a 25 hour labor and 3 hour pushing time! Thank you to all the staff who made sure our baby was ok when we had a code pink when she was born as well, they all worked quickly to make sure she was breathing again (difficult labor by baby not facing the right way while pushing) thank you so much, you are all excellent at what you do and make a difference in the world by showing your kindness and support. Will definitely have my second baby here!
nice people, they were open when no one else was, (since its the new years weekend my other family doctor was closed) so it's great they were able to help even with the 4 hr wait time.
I was a bit skeptical about this hospital. But had no other go as my husband was taken to this hospital yesterday by an ambulance. He had a seizure due to high fever. They kept him in the ER until last night to come up with a working diagnosis. He tested positive for COVID with D-dimer more than 1000 and CRP was 26. They took Chest CT and X-ray. They gave one dose of Dexamethazone and today didn't even repeat the blood work for D-dimer or CRP. No prescriptions for follow-up medication or anything they asked him to discharge. They asked us to followup with our GP further. We asked to repeat the blood work atleast for D-dimer and CRP so we can follow up with our Family GP as he can't go in for Blood work due to home quarantine. Even for that they didn't oblige. They are asking us to come back if things worsen. What kind of a Health Care System is this ? We won't treat you because you are not critical yet, come back once you become critical! Hopeless health care system. After paying taxes for 11 years and using the hospitalization benefit for the first time this is what we get. All that glitters is not gold. So much for the Free health care in Canada!
Very long wait at registration. Emergency information desk is quiet rude. I went in to ask the direction of service i was reffered to. Missed the appointment just because I had to wait in line for two hours just to ask a question (not to register ) However the health service and department I recived was great. They guided me how to avoide future hassle.
Best place for giving birth ???? nurses are very helpful and kind
Overall it’s a good hospital with knowledgeable doctors and nurses, who show genuine empathy and concern for your health and well-being. However, that doesn’t mean all of the staff is friendly and professional. On a recent visit to the Emergency Room, I witnessed at least 20 patients waiting to be seen by a doctor while nurses and registration staff were in a nonchalant, casual mood attending to personal business at every opportunity possible. For example, the woman in the picture was in the ER registration room and called out patient names from her chair without making an effort to be heard. She firmly believed that it was the patients responsibility to have their ears on her at all times. In between every single patient she religiously picked up her phone and made sure she was up to date on her social media and wasn’t missing a beat. Oh she also sipped coffee and sucked on a lollipop (wish I had captured her doing that). Anyway as I said, there’s a good mix of genuine and professional staff with those who can only be described as lazy and clock-watchers. Your experience will depend on whom you’re dealing with and can range from horrible to wonderful.
If your feeling ill it's better to stay home. The wait is usually 3-7 hrs long and no pain meds given until seen by doctor. If you want to be comfortable stay home self medicate for a hospital thats recently been renovated in the emergency department they dont seem to have any more space for the massive crowds that visit this hospital.
Dull, drab interior. Lots of security, covid sceeners, short staffed on the units. Lots if families doing care of patients. Staff are overworked, some do a better job than others. They do their best.
I went here because I was experiencing strong stomach pain that was almost crippling. After being accessed it turned out to be something that could have been prevented (although I didn't know this would happen). The doctor looked at me as I was stupid and explained to me that a wash out could cure the problem but I refused as I wasn't comfortable and she looked at me like I wasted her time and she told me that no matter how much surgery I was never going to have relief. I left regretting going to this hospital, waiting their forever long wait period and paying their over priced parking. From now on I now go to the Milton hospital. I find the people are nicer, more knowledgeable there ( keep in mind they're working at a hospital not a hotel and are stressed out) and wait time is only a fraction of what it was here. I don't want to know what would have happened if I had brought my fiance here with appendicitis.
Morag at the Genetics department is absolutely wonderful. She is knowledgeable, kind and very professional.
I had to give them something but to be honest I would give a negative rating! The emergency department is absolutely HORRIBLE, from the staff too busy flirting with paramedics, nurses on the floors with attitude problems, the list goes on.... I had an allergic anaphylactic reaction and they didn't believe me and put i a corner and well I don't remember much until I was in a room and surrounded by doctors and nurses..... I will NEVER take an ambulance in Peel Region again, I'd rather stick myself with both Epi-pens and go to either Milton or Oakville hospital at least you get treated proper there! Hate this hospital!!!
Amazing hospital! Wait times are not instant but will ensure that you are taken care of in an emergency.
Character Limit Exceeded: I would not even give one star if I could. A copy of this document has been forwarded to Patient Relations at the Hospital: I am writing to express my extreme level of dissatisfaction at the level of service that was given to my fiancé and I during our stay on the night of December 30, 2016. He had been having chest pains all day. Usually they go away on their own, but when they remained, I took him to the emergency at Credit Valley Hospital. The lady at the front took him into the ER right away, as his blood pressure was so high it could not be measured but when she found out that the patient was him instead of myself, she completely turned her back on me and focused on him. Fair enough, he was more important, but that was not polite nor did it feel good. We were told by one of the triage nurses that we could stay as long as we want, so we were relieved to hear that he would not be alone. He had never been to a hospital before let alone had so many people handle him. At 4:30am on the morning of December 31, another nurse told me that I had to leave. Please note that I am a small, young lady. It was bad enough that my fiance was here and sending me home would just make me cry in an empty house all by myself. I do not agree with her kicking me out at such a barbaric hour alone in a snow storm. Sure, this hospital has escorts, but what about driving home and getting inside the house? If something should happen, no one would ever know and her hands would be wiped clean. Since I live only with my fiance, no one would even know if something bad should occur. This is beyond unacceptable. I had told the nurse that I could in no way just leave him there to wake up alone. I have woken up alone from surgery before and it was NOT a nice feeling. To top this off, he was already super nervous that everything happened and it was his first time in a hospital like I had mentioned earlier. I even asked this lady if she would do the same thing as me if her husband or child was in the hospital. She obviously has issues at home and/or doesn't care about her children if she were so hard up. This lady had the nerve to tell me that "if he doesn't sleep, I will be to blame because he is not healing. I was distracting him from sleep which was preventing him from healing." Who says that to people? Also, the lady in the room next to us was never asked to leave. She just targetted me and me only. I managed to convince her to let me stay but the entire night, she kept bad mouthing us both to her colleagues. I should have recorded her but I kept still and quiet for fear that she would attempt to kick me out again. My fiance decided that he would tell her that he did not want a sleeping aid if it meant she was going to kick me out. She threatened to send him to the psych ward for refusing. The last thing my fiance wanted was to fall asleep and have me forcibly removed from his side. This actually impacted him because he was not able to sleep for fear of her actions. So SHE actually affected his healing. My hands are clean. Please tell me if it is okay to kick out a young, small female in the middle of the night in a snowstorm to leave the one thing that means the most to her. Please tell me if bad mouthing people is acceptable. I have been to your location as a patient myself and I remember hearing them discuss my story and laughing hysterically from the er waiting room. Not a good feeling. I will be telling others about yet another bad visit. You are lucky that you are the closest hospital to me because I would avoid you if I could. I will also be sharing my story on the google review of your site. Please note that I have two medical degrees, so I am not a crook nor someone uneducated. I just wanted to be with my future husband to make sure he was okay and be his only source of security in a place full of first time experiences. Was that wrong? ****Their response was robotic and without empathy****
Very big hospital. Avoid appointments in the winter and you can park free at the mall across the street
Worst hospital ever. Been calling for few days to find status of my dad and nobody knows which department to transfer to. One attendant even said "I don't know what I am doing". Hell might be better. Canada's health system has collapsed!!
The hospital sucks. The emergency is a complete disaster. Specially the timing. By my experience, nobody should ever go to this hospital ever at night. P.S., the infrastructure is horrible too.
This place was absolutely horrible and awful. There was little to no positives besides the pretty architecture and maybe the few nice nurses that were DOING THEIR JOB and weren't gossiping about highschool drama. The first notable experience I can vividly recall is me waking up in the middle of the night with sharp pains around the area where my gallbladder was. My mother woke up and supported me as I leaned over the sink, crying to her how bad it hurt. They were so sharp and painful, I would've hit the counter of the bathroom sink if it wasn't my mother. It awoken my father and two sisters, so my dad called 911. I was taken to the hospital and I had to wait for HOURS on end. Every check up by a nurse was AT LEAST 1-5 hours. The nurses said that I may needed surgery for my gallbladder to be removed, so I couldn't eat beforehand. Which is understandable as surgeons need an empty stomach to operate. We were patiently waiting for the specialist to determine if I needed surgery or not. HOWEVER, we waited for MAYBE 8 hours AT LEAST. Turns out that I didn't require surgery, but after ANOTHER ROUND OF CONTINUOUS WAITING. It took an entire day or two to get confirmation or not. The next horrible event is when me and my mother were waiting for our name to be called, my mother needed a pimple in her eye lid to be drained. The nurses were simply gossiping and talking, acting as if nothing serious was happening. One nurse called out, I kid you not, "Sanjay". Me and my mother waited for this "Sanjay" to come up. It turns out "Sanjay" was my mother. Her name is SAJIDA. Nurses and doctors often pronounce her name as Sah-Jee-Dah, but NEVER has anyone ever pronounced her name as Sanjay. The nurse was incredibly passive aggressive as she said "Well, it's not my fault. You should've came up". Oh yes, definitely a women should come up after a HORRIBLE BUTCHERING of her name that makes it unrecognizable to her. This nurse had a clipboard in hand with the list of all the names, how incompetent can you get? We were fortantly recalled next with the same nurse pronouncing her name PROPERLY. Luckily we haven't experienced that unprofessional behaviour, but the wait times were as long as ever. The final issue is the most infuriating. My younger sister slipped on some ice and got a horrible concussion. My mother and her were waiting HOURS on end for their name to be called out. My father and mother would alternate to watch after my sister, and they still have to wait. When it was my dad’s turn, he asked the nurses if my sisters name was on the list. This nurse said that her name WAS NOT ON THE LIST. My sister was waiting HOURS ON END, IN PAIN and turns out she wasn’t on the list. My father rightfully exploded at the nurse from how incompetent they were and DEMANDED for my sister to be added. Thanks to his intimidating posture, that nurse added her name and my sister was called next. I would NOT recommend this hospital for your physical health and I wouldn’t recommend it that strongly for mental health as well
Everyone know because the pandemic they can't charge for anything. So Diagnostic Imaging Centre put me down today. They made bad treatment because that. Two girls talked so rude. They asked me for the payment. Everyone there looking at me like I am bad people I was so ashamed. NOBODY CAME TO HOSPITAL FOR JUST FUN. WE NEED RESPECT
Amazingly impressive in every way! I never thought I'd say this about a hospital, but our most recent ER visit to Credit Valley (Streetsville) was quick, easy and pleasant. We were in and out in an hour, and every staff member we interacted with (from the Triage Nurse, Registration, to Dr. Cohen..and everyone along the way) was friendly, professional and caring. These are really, really exceptional people delivering exceptional service. Nobody *wants* to be in a hospital, but these folks certainly made the visit enjoyable. Highly recommended!
I had a cancer scare a year ago, and suffered several procedures in Oakville before being referred to Credit Valley. From the first experience to the last, simply marvellous. The intake procedures work like clockwork, and all the staff seems to understand that patients are frightened and stressed, and make every effort make the admin painless and pleasant. My examining physician, Dr. El Hajj, was wonderful, spending the time to explain to me my problems and the options available to me. The pre-op procedures were wonderful compared to Oakville, and extremely thorough. On the day of the surgery, my surgeon (Dr. Nahas) and anaesthetist (Dr. Nish something-beginning-with-K) both took time to speak to me and put my fears to rest. The assistant surgeon and the assistant anaesthetist both took time in the theatre to introduce themselves and explain their roles. All the nurses took time to speak to me (unlike Oakville where they are busy discussing their private lives). The recovery nurses were also marvellous. If I ever had to have any other procedure, I would not want to go to any other hospital.
Second time I have been there and Went with my son for his surgery. Surgery went good but got discharged and my sons clothing are missing. Like what the hell man. I want to go home and not sitting here an hour after being discharged. So unorganized and where is my sons bag of clothing? All the staff sitting around laughing and giggling while I am still waiting over an hour
Suite 309 - Dr Anand’s receptionist, Marry, what a horrible human. Zero level of professionalism. Being unusually loud saying we disturbed her during her lunch hours ? Really if it wasn’t for my mom I’d never go there. My blood is boiling right now. You come to work, you’re getting paid for being nice to people, is it very hard to understand ? Be a good human being. And when communicated to Dr.Anand he wouldn’t take it seriously portraying as if, it was us who was at wrong.
A BIG THANKS to all the amazing staff.. Specially CCU Erin day nurse and Tu night nurse I will forever be grateful for your kindness ❤
Have never been to the hospital, but received a bill, tried to contact accountant department for a few months, but they never pick up their phone nor give calls back. Now collections company sends me bill, but Credit Valley puts me directly on their voice mail. Any ultrasounds that I had to have done in Canada I had to pay first and then they would do it. The screening that they say I did, I have never done it.
Worst waiting times. My wife (5 months pregnant) has been waiting for ultrasound in maternity assessment unit. She had unusual discharge and Dr. wanted to get an ultrasound done. She waited 7 hours but the department can't give any time. Theres a disconnect between usg and assessment unit. They told her yesterday to come back today and 9ur case will be prioritized. Today again she's waiting for past 2 hours and nurses here can't do anything. We feel helpless and frustrated by this system. This utter nonsense.
I'm giving it 3 stars because I've seen the staff bend over backward and destroy their bodies helping patients. It cannot be easy to walk around for 12 hours. Literally watched a nurse do the "pee dance" while someone was complaining about some nonsense that they should have gone to their family doctor for. Idiots like that contribute to why the ER is so packed. Being a nurse doesn't mean they get to be your personal punching bag. They're people too. Half the people complaining here probably get rude nurses because they were to the nurse. As ex staff and an ex patient, I would give this hospital a ZERO for how it treats its staff. No appreciation. Patient is always right. They don't care if the staff get hurt, what they're exposed to, working with limited supplies.... disgusting. Would never be a nurse.
If u are going to die go here.
This is one of the worst triages I’ve ever experienced. I repeatedly reminded the nurses about my 3 year old daughter who needed urgent medical attention as she was coughing with a running temperature and dehydrated. They just told me to wait for my turn as there is a long list of people ahead of her. I a writing this review as I’m waiting with my baby. It’s almost 3 hours now and still no Hope of medical attention. Shame on you credit valley.
Delivered my son there, what an amazing experience. The nurses were very attentive and constantly made sure I was comfortable (while of course monitoring my baby as well.) a big thank you to Briar, Mike, Lindsey and Dr.Mark in labour and delivery for making the best day of my life even better than I could have imagined.
No parking, very frustrating, bringing a sick person, Cancer Centre, Public transit is not an option, I have to go in with him, where do I leave my car?? ????
Experience at this hospital was over a year ago but I still think about it often. I was a birth coach for a patient at this hospital and I have to say I was appalled by the nurses that came into contact with her. From the admitting nurses to the delivery room nurse. They were cold, impatient, apathetic and what I interpreted as slightly racist. The OBG and the post-delivery nurses were fine, but other than that it was hard to watch from the outside. I hope this hospital can work out those kinks.
The hospital is good, but the oncologist doctor Lim does not take his patients seriously, and does take the effort to do anything for his patients. Please ask for other doctors, the nurses are just chatting, and laughing, not interested in their patients either. Unnecessary tests are done to make money and keep their cots, sad to know, would like to know what the directors are doing about it.
Disappointing quality of care - hospital is using Maple to schedule appointments but unfortunately there is no assistance available to troubleshoot errors with this platform. I have called the hospital every day this week trying to notify them of this issue. Upon registering on thp.ca you will be asked to create an account with Maple and once you do that you will still not be able to book an appointment. When you call the hospital you are redirected to an automated message telling you to book online (on the platform that won't actually allow you to book online). Don't waste your time, they will not give you an appointment and will not speak with you either.
Great hospital, moderate wait times which can fluctuate (understandable). Very clean inside and out.
I am absolutely happy to say that I have now had two of my kids out of three at credit valley hospital, and both times I was very happy when I left! My first son I had there and I had him vaginal birth and I felt well taken care of! My second son I had a Brampton civic hospital and I ended up with a emergency csection, and I was left high and dry right after and it didn't help that the Pandemic just started so my husband had to leave right after so I was left alone as soon as I could move my legs . I only had two good nurses!! My third child , my daughter I had at credit valley and I had to have a csection and I'm so happy I went back to credit valley hospital because Dr. Moore was amazing and the nurses o had even more amazing!!!! And Dr Mackinnon was amazing too , my daughter had to go to the NICU 48 hours after birth and they took care of her so well . The nurses there are absolutely amazing and made me feel good to actually get a bit of sleep while I was there !!! If I could remember all the nurses names who I got to meet I would because they deserve to be recognized!!! But unfortunately I was there for 5 days and was so tired that I can't remember which I feel awful about but just know the nurses in the birthing and labor and the NICU are all amazing!!!!
Amazing Hospital !! Doctors and Nurses are amazing. I had my daughter there on Oct 17th. Loved the hospital and the staff…labour and delivery wing is the best. Nurses are very caring. I really love the nurse who take care of me her name is Aneta. She was so gentle and too kind❤️❤️
Thank you Dr. Mgoey if that's spelled right. Everyone was wonder full, except for not getting a private room we were insured for. Also Some staff physio staff lady saying to my mother what are you still here for I discharged you. First off lady that helped my mother in room 1135 1B you do not have the authority to do or say that. I won't post what I am really thinking!!!
This place is such a joke. My dad has been here 2 months. Has seen about 7 different doctors. Had about 20 different nurses. They still have no idea what's wrong. And on top of it all, he pushes the nurse call button and we wait 45 min to an hour for a nurse to show up. Yet EVERY FRIGGIN TIME I walk by the nurses station I see them on Facebook or talking about their plans. If they have time to do this they should be spending more time with their extremely sick patients. Quality of care. Companionship helps sooooo much. Horrible horrible service. Shame on you for calling yourself healers
Good experience and very friendly staff. Parking locations are far from the entrance for the maternal section which should be improved upon.
If your not a Caucasian from Canada then be ready to be treated like a dog. Just see all the comments with 1 and 2 star.. all of them are from folks with ethnic races. If this hospital was in USA it would be been out of business a long time ago. The ironic part is that the hospital looks and smells like a hospital from any third world country.
I wish I could give the hospital a negative 5. My brother is in ICU and the nurses are absolutely inconsiderate and unresponsive to patient needs. 1)He asked his nurse for help adjusting him because he was in pain. She immediately said I will give you pain meds ignoring his requests to adjust his tube... Thank God for our mom, he was in sooo much pain. My mom spent 3 min figuringout the issue and corrected it. The nurse came back with the meds, we told her no need, the issue was with the tube, she was like oh, OK. Just clueless, unapologetic and not interested in helping. 2) asked the same nurse to help adjust his seating and slide him over. She said she will and 10 minutes later went on break for 1 hour leaving my brother in pain and discomfort. She did not even tell is she was going. My brother then asked my mom and I if we could do him a "favor" and help him move his body over! Absolutely heartbreaking. I then walked the halls and literally had to request a nurse desperately to come help because there were too many tubes and I was scared to move his legs. This hospital is horrible... ICU is terrible.
The emergency care has long queues where even patients who are severly ill might need to stand for an hour. Otherwise, everything else is organised, staff, nurses and doctors are helpful and empathetic.
Take my 17 year nephew here last night to the emergency department for extreme stomach pain and vomiting with headaches she was even crying in pain but they made us wait 4 hours what a great medical care Canada have yay...f××king punk country
Been here a handful of times - aside from one occasion with longer then normal wait times for my daughter, we've always been well cared for. I found they don't rush people out like a lot of hospitals do. Sometimes you have to insist on something (example when my daughter was 9 months old and another hospital said she had pneumonia, next day She got significantly worse so we took her back to be tested for RSV. They said there was no need, she didn't have it but we insisted and it came back positive... But at least they did it when we insisted.)
Great people working in a terrible place. Parking expensive and free space takes 20 minutes to find. Feels like scam. Crowded, lines are longer than Trump's tie. My son was born here, doctors were good and helpful. But hospital is the worst I have ever been to.
My wife has been recently referred to a Obstetrician specialist couple of weeks back. We are waiting for the appointment call. What is wait time ? Really appreciate if can get a response here.
Extremely disappointed with the way patients are treated here. Better your system credit valley hospital and vet nurses and doctors properly. Their attitude with patients matters. Not sure why they behave like robotic humans with no empathy.
My wife got surgery of utres cancer, good services, excellent staff. My wife getting good treatment from here
I've been several times at different times of day and staff were polite, well informed, kind, knowledgeable and above all caring.
I had bad experience been in emergency situation at credit valley hospital, long time waiting to see doctor, very slow nurse team care and registration process, Patients in pain as Canadian we deserve better than that, please somebody need to do something here about it #god bless Canada Thank you .
very poor and disappointed service specially careless nurses . The nurse who attended me for my CAT scan was very rude and was uttering rubbish. She didn't had any manners to talk. It was a very bad experience at the hospitas diagnosis and image department. The hospital must train them for customer service and teach them how to talk to the patient politely.
Horrible. ER with family member still here and it's been over 5 hours and still haven't seen a doctor. If I could put less stars I would. Doesn't matter what you do to try and get help the just tell you to wait
MRI WASHROOM, please Renovate, the toilet is not the height for a wheelchair, plus the Room is a Triangle, not a square, NO ROOM!!!, and the wait room is not open enough for wheelchair and people, the staff is amazing, but are frustrated with lack of places to help all people, let work smarter not harder!!!.
It is a well know fact that this hospital has some of the most amazing doctors and specialist in the works. But what about the front line workers and the nurses? Our family and friends are always greeted and cares for by amazing individuals who make their life’s work assuring others during the most difficult, happy and worrisome times of their lives. I would like to give a special thanks to Sherry F. for her amazing professionalism and care towards every person she comes in contact with. Credit Valley Hospital should recognize these front line people as their saving grace. They are to thousands of people who come through their doors. Thank you for your continuous outstanding service.
I'm disappointed with CREDIT VALLEY HOSPITAL. Took my husband there today walked in ask the lady if there was a stretcher because my husband could walk or sit in a wheelchair they directed me to another department (emergency) went there explained myself again and was told he has to sit . I told her sternly he can't walk or sit , she walked away spoke to someone , then comes back and told me to call 911 if he needs a stretcher. Are you kidding my . Thankfully I went to some paramedics right outside explained to them what I was told . They were lovely men that helped us out . My husband is there and waiting to see a doctor. Something needs to be done asap to adjust these issues and problems .
Very bad service. I WILL NEVER COME BACK TO THIS PLACE. Instead of getting healed, they will starve you first to death before you can see a doctor after waiting for so many hours. They will lie that your papers are ready and they are just waiting for a doctor. When I finally decided to go home, they said the doctor is ready. When the doctor was ready, the paper was not yet faxed from a clinic that I went. Before that, nurses were just talking and talking when they supposed to make sure everything is ready. I have told them so many times I hadn't have a proper breakfast and I am so weak from starvation. They can't tell how much longer I should wait. And I had to wait another hour to wait. The doctor did not even have my bloodwork to tell if I am pregnant or not before taking any prescribed antibiotic. See!? Liars. In addition, I paid the ambulance fee by phone, a lady called back with angry tone, telling that I chose a wrong location. I chose credit valley hospital and she told me I was wrong. So confusing. Worst staff ever!
The worst of the worst. If you don't have to, don't go to this hospital. Nothing but attitude from the nurses. The nurses were very disrespectful, and asked "why would you come to the hospital" meanwhile the doctor said "its very good that you came to the hospital, otherwise this could of have been severely bad. If you can go to Trillium. Trillium is 1000x better with more professional staff.
Worst ER ever! Makes babies in pain wait for over 4 hours while they cry and cry and cry. No accountability... No transparency!!!
All the Nurses and Drs. Were very helpful ☺️ and made me feel comfortable !
I was just there today at ER 8:00 am and the RN in the fracture clinic name Solanta told me I can go home & the clinic will call me in 2 business days. But unfortunately the doctor told me stay and I need to be cast because I have R fracture wrist. I don’t think Solanta read my chart and my diagnosis. How come? Does she know how to do intervention and NCP ( nursing care plan ) ?Thank goodness I didn’t listen to her, I’m so glad Elizabeth is there ( another RN on duty) who gave me pain killers and did the cast for me and gave me instructions how to maintain my temporary cast. It’s not a big deal but imagine if I’m elderly and not paying attention. Thanks for the good service of admission and the the protocol for screening that is the best part. You guys are heroes.
I would like to add a NEW review but don't know how! lol I had another visit to CVH Emergency Dept. this past March 5th. EVERYONE was once again outstanding in their service. I saw Dr. Benjamin Strauss and he solved 6 months of pain and also my Vertigo, in a 20 minute visit. I can't thank him enough. Because he TOOK THE TIME TO LISTEN TO ME and send me to the Oral Surgeon, my mouth problem was finally cured. He also diagnosed my 6 months of Vertigo, gave me exercises to do, and voila, problem solved! Thank you soooooo much Dr. Strauss. You Rock! Twice in the last two weeks I had to go to the Emergency Department at Credit Valley Hospital. Every single person I was in contact with from Orderlies to Nurses to the Doctors, were all kind, compassionate and caring. No one "rushed" anything. The doctors and Nurses were "engaged and listening" to me. Numerous tests were done and eventually the prognosis was made and treatment was put into motion. I can't thank everyone in that Department enough. Thank you so much.
My husband and I brought our two children to the emergency department as they both have been experiencing a severe cough for the last 5 days along with diarrhea. We waited six and a half hours for the doctor to see us during that time my son's breathing got worse and he had diarrhea four times while we were there I also mention to the technicians that my daughter is autistic as well as has CMS and she was starting to have episodes. The technician said that they would be right into check on us and they never came in once the doctor finally saw us she examined my son and said everything sounded fine there was no cause for concern I notified her at the concern was while he was sleeping and he was gasping for air she continued to tell me that if I was concerned to bring him back to the hospital. She then proceeded to examine my daughter and at this point I was extremely frustrated my voice was raised because my daughter was screaming and the nurse took that is I was being threatening and called security she never once addressed the fact that my children have been having diarrhea for the past week. She along with the nursing staff did not apologize once for not bothering to check up on us. I have never be so disappointed in hospital service in my life.
Dr. Carter in Plastics is possibly the worst doctor I have ever seen. I had a follow up appointment for a broken finger with him, and after a 2.5hour wait for a booked time, I was rushed in as the last patient for the day. The doctor and nurses never even asked what was wrong with me, I had to call them out and tell them how I got injured. The doctor himself was very awkward, he came in without even introducing himself and began by just telling me to remove the splint that was already on. So with ,y possibly dirty hands, I removed the bandages and all myself, even held my finger myself for him to see. Now I am no wuss. but this doc is getting paid to treat me, not diy treatment. Anyway after his 1 min analysis of the finger, he decides I need a plaster cast! Now bear in mind, this was my little finger that was fractured, and was in a splint for 3 days - he now decides to cast the whole hand save for my index finger and thumb, all the way to my elbow...for just the one finger! I even told him I found it excessive, because I work in computers and need to at least type. I left after literally a 10 min ordeal, which now results in me handicapped unnecessarily for 2 weeks? (I don't even know how long because he rushed out)
So far, not impressed. You would think when a person calls you from the hospital amd confirms a time and location, it would be a solid appointment. Only to arrive on time and have to visit 3 buildings, walking around with a pregnant wife to be told to wait by someone who coughs on her hands and then handles our health cards and didn't even know if she was logged in the system. No one has any clue what the other person is doing and there is NO personal attention. No one cares much for your condition. Update : the birthing assessment department and staff are incredible, friendly helpful and efficient. Extremely pleased with them. The doctor and staff in the birthing suite was exceptional and wonderful. The mom and baby area was ok, conflicting information from all the nurses and a lot of stress. All in all, it was ok.
NEGATIVE INFINITY STARS!!!!! MY BROTHER WAS DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER AND AFTER BEING ADMITTED IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM WHILE WAITING 3 PLUS HOURS AND PASSING OUT WITH A VERY FAINT PULSE WAS ROBBED OF $200 DOLLARS CASH HE HAD IN HIS WALLET BY SOMEONE WHO WORKS THERE!!!!!!!!!! DURING HIS HORRENDOUS STAY THERE HE WAS NOT ABLE TO SHOWER AS THEIR "COMMUNAL SHOWERS" ARE STILL NOT FINISHED, AND THIS IS IN THEIR "NEW WING" WITCH WAS COMPLETED 11/2 YEARS AGO; ALSO THE AIR CONDITION BROKE DOWN 3 TIMES IN THIS "STATE OF THE ART FACILITY"!!! THEY DO NOT EVEN OFFER FREE WI-FI BUT CONTINUE TO ROB THE SICK AND DYING BY CHARGING AN ABSURD AMOUNT, JUST LIKE THEIR PARKING. THE THEME HERE IS MORE FITTING OF A GROSSLY OVER CHARGING THEME PARK WHERE PIRATES RULE AND THE SICK AND DYING ARE PILLAGED AND PICKED APART BY VULTURES AND PARASITES. THERE IS NO SAFE STORAGE FOR ANY VALUABLES. THE DOCTORS SEEMED ABSENT MINDED AND LACKADAISICAL AT BEST AS HE WAS LEFT FOR 4 DAYS WITHOUT ONE UPDATE TO HIS CONDITION. THIS PLACE IS A SAD PATHETIC EXCUSE FOR A HOSPITAL AND IS MORE FITTING OF A SECOND WORLD HOSPICE FROM PRE-1940S YUGOSLAVIA. WE ARE RUNNING FROM HERE.
Sadly the wait times are so long it’s often better to drive an hour out to another hospital.
I worry about patient safety in what this hospital calls 2G. It’s an auditorium that has been converted to beds. Tripping hazards everywhere, no direct access to a washroom and the worst part is that patients who are put here are old very sick and need accessibility. I appreciate the service this hospital offers our community but safety needs to be accessed and addressed.
Had ambulatory surgery today. Staff was nice, clear and helpful, but nurses were phenomenal. Good listeners, caring, professional. Very good experience in the Day surgery clinic. And yes, parking is expensive...
Came in with my partner - they wasted 8 hours, and said come back tomorrow to finish the imaging. Had a 10 am this morning - arrived at 9:30. Been waiting 4 hours for the doctor... Disgraceful
Been here many times, also volunteered here in the past. Love the hospital, the only thing is when I was pregnant few of the doctors tried to push inducing early. Which I didn’t do and wouldn’t suggest you do either. Things should happen naturally, sometimes they want to induce early so they get you out of office early and can take in the next patient on the list. Other than that I loved my experience every time, it’s a hospital, things aren’t always gonna go smoothly - be understanding that we get free healthcare and it is what it is.
Never again.... some of the nurses are nice but alot of them are very very very rude. I will never come back to this hospital.
I would give it 5 stars, but I had to wait like 30 minutes for a "volunteer" who never came to take me downstairs after my surgery.
Worst hospital ever! I am a teacher and found myself in Emergency after a bad fall. I waited hours to get an MRI as I had a concussion. The doctor said "no" very quickly and I was told to call and make an appointment. This was my third fall and I was nauseous and very dizzy. How much worse was I suppose to be to warrant an MRI?! Very sad! I am embarrassed to be a Canadian that was born and raised here.
Covid-19 drive thru screening is in Parking garage #1. The drive thru line up begins at Credit Valley Road near Eglinton Avenue. Very organized, efficient, safely spaced. Took approximately 2 hours for us. For a friend of ours earlier in week on a weekday it took 20 minutes. Times vary. Hope this helps!
The most uncomfortable Rapid Assessment Zone that we have ever had to wait in. It’s cold as sin too! Nurses are friendly though! Just a long wait and UNCOMFORTABLE waiting area that needs serious upgrades. UPDATE: DO NOT GO HERE!
There is not any emergency I was stuck for two hours feeling hungry no one care and no one ask the patient what they feel. Too much disappointed with the medical service .
Nurses were rushed off their feet. Dr Lee'assisyant was very gracious
Anyone have a negative experience at the OB office like me? Had to wait 2.5 hours, for an appointment. And cannot get a hold of anyone on the phone?
I was taken to credit valley hospital emergency dept after arriving by ambulance due to severe pain and fever due to a severe kidney infection on July 7,2020 and was admitted to 1C. After 2 days of being on the unit, i was told that there was a covid outbreak, luckily the nurses were amazing and kept me calm. I was nervous of course but they put precautions in place right away, so i was in my room for the majority of my stay, July 7 - July 15, 2020. I have to give a Big Thank You to all the nurses and my doctor (Dr. Levitz) for keeping me safe. 2 of the nurses need to be comended for going above and beyond for me during my stay, Candace & Deepa of 1C these 2 women were absolutely amazing, they kept me calm and just had the Biggest Hearts???? I've seen in a long time. There's a special place in my heart for these 2. Even during these hard times, all the nurses are doing there part at taking care of each patient. Thank you again.
Have one kid that was born here and I have had 2 surgeries here. Always treated great
After seeing my son assaulted by the police, strapped to a bed and being discharged just a couple hours later from Brampton civic hospital, in no condition to be out on the streets; Coming to this hospital was the best choice I havw made in my life. Who cares if the parking is bad or a tummy ache has to wait a few hours to see a Dr- go to a walk in clinic. My son entered this hospital in full manic state. He was immediately seen by professionals, put in a quiet place and admited into the hospital. Staff has been amazing even when my son is testing them and not being so nice. Absolutely amazing place. Even the security guards are amazing. Thank you so much. I will be forever grateful to all of you.
I went in for a issue my father was having, which made it difficult for him to walk at all. I got to the hospital around 1 pm and after 3 hours of waiting they finally took him in for a ultra sound, blood, and urine test. (all of which should take less than an hour and a half). 3 and a half hours later they said they need to send my father to a specialist because they can't figure out what's wrong and they're changing his prescription. The doctor shouted my father's name one time for the change of prescription, then had him sit back down. Then the doctor called him again and told him he was setting an appointment up having my father walk up to him TWICE. I saw other doctors speak to their patients in the hallway but he waited for my dad to come to him. The front desk was especially rude as I only told them that the doctor was setting up an appointment for my father and he can't walk.. Setting an appointment up should be a matter of 2-3 minutes. She told me to sit back down in a tone after I told her my dad can't walk.. isn't the one treating my father so she doesn't care but a hospital of all places is where you're suppose to be HOSPITABLE. I argued back with her my dad is having trouble walking and if the doctor wants to speak with him he can GO to my dad instead having him walk back and forth in an already full waiting room where people are needing seats already. Many people in this hospital need to be retrained in their mannerisms. When entering the ER a lady just pulled the sheet out of my father's hand no questions asked, then when she took him in, she was forcefully grabbing his arm and his finger. My father is adept enough to understand instructions and do what he is told. I get you have a full room but a little respect to your patients shows you actually care about your treatment and not just the paycheque. The only woman who was kind to my father was the one who registered him in. Despite all the chaos around her she still had her smile and positive mindset. The ownership needs to fix up a lot of their employees as opposed to additions to their hospital.
You can't call it emergency if they will not check you right away. This rate is not for nurses or doctors, they are trying to do their best.
I just gave birth to my daughter there. We had a really good experience with a nurse eva, she practically reduced the pain by just smiling n being there this was during the labor in the birthing suit. All nurses were great in the birthing suit. But after we were shifted to the room ,after delivery we had a really bad experience with a nurse named gloria. She practically made me burst into tears had no tolerance no patience and was sooo mean. I mean u cant be mean to someone who just gave birth. I also asked them to change her but the time was almost up so glad she was gone and the other one chelsea was really nice and helpful. If it wasnt for that nurse gloria my experience was veryyyy nice.. they should really do something about that nurse as i dont want to be treated the same next time we go there as i am planning to go there next time also.
Absolutely an amazing hospital I had a great experience with all the emergency staff! Had to do an emergency operations seen a doctor within 40 minutes. Surgery took 4 hours to start but every couple of minutes a doctor checked up on me and make sure I was okay. Best experience I had in Ontario hospital.
I would like to say a few words about a nurse at Credit valley hospital on wed sep9-10 night shift where I recently had an operation. Her name is Lisa. My issue is that she was overly harsh with me when she administered the i.v. Even though I cried out in pain, she did not take a more gentle approach. The experience left me angry and frustrated and thought it important to share my feelings. But Jenny “nurse” was amazing. She was with me Sep 10 morning shift.
I arrived for covid-19 testing at the drive-thru assessment centre today (Sept. 28/21) and was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I was taken. There was only one car ahead of me and I was in and out within 10 minutes. My appointment was at 1:50 pm and although the hospital was crazy busy with sooooo many cars everywhere, the actual assessment centre was fairly quiet. The nurse was lovely and she is a real asset to Credit Valley Hospital.
Need an overhaul, the parking is less and extremely expensive. My son was born here and paid a mini fortune parking.
my wife went into labour in january 2015 and our baby girl was 6 weeks premature. she was enrolled into the NICU for 2 weeks. in that time we met fantastic nurses and support staff that helped us in all ways possible. they were the ones that made a difficult situation for us bearable. i can't thank them enough for all that they have done for my family!
Doctors and Nurses were kind and helped out a lot. The two times I visited recently both Doctors seemed to care genuinely and were attentive. The place has improved from over a decade ago. My visit with a specialist also went well here. I really appreciate the good work everyone is doing here.
One word 'Overrated' Had heard a lot good about the maternity ward but writing this review while sitting on the premises, I have some clearer picture. They just don't have time to pay attention to you when you need them the most. PS. Not every nurse is like that, there are some really good ones (eg. Patience, Cynthia and more) but it just needs one bad experience when you are delivering a baby and there is no shortage of nurses here who are capable of doing that. Maybe its the training coz i would expect someome in this profession to have empathy towards people in pain and should be self driven to serve them but oh god, i have seen children crying their guts out and patients needing assistance with parallel sounds of laughter coming from a group of nurses sitting outside and not willing to help coz apparently that room's nurse is busy somewhere else for last few hours. Can't really do anything but to review them here in hope of improvement of services for future births here. Also considering that they work in shifts, you would have to be extremely lucky to get good care in all shifts.
This has to be maybe the worst hospital I've ever been to. 6 hour wait in an emergency room. For real!?
If I could give 0 stars I would. I have to come to this hospital on a weekly bases for over 5 months. They moved their ultrasound from the high risk clinic at the valley house to the hospital. Now I get weekly appointments in the hospital. I have appointments but they do not matter. They serve patients with appointments along with alllll the emergency and regular outpatients. My husband and I have to clear our whole day every single week. They tell me to come in at 10am I don’t get to see anyone until about 2pm. It’s crazy. Horrible.
Horrible hospital. I was in the other day for chest pains that got really bad during the night. The nurse at the front desk, told me there was so many people coming in complaining about chest pains and nothing was wrong with them. Was she not taught to have compassion for patients!? The worst hospital in Mississauga. Go to Credit Valley hospital I beg of you.
Not sure who actually reads hospital reviews - but Credit Valley is a top tier hospital. They have taken covid precautions very seriously; they have an outstanding system for testing, and when I had to go to the emergency room a couple of days ago - I got the best care I could’ve asked for - with a relatively short wait time (I mean it’s a public hospital, you can only expect so much from that aspect). Lastly, I feel bad for the negative reviewers, it may not be as much of the quality of care; rather how poorly their health has become. Again, they’re not miracle workers; they’re doctor - humans. I hope you all feel better soon
These people never run on time and have no respect for other people's time. If you have an ultrasound they expect you to sit in the waiting area with a full bladder while they run 20 minutes to an hour behind schedule. My scheduled appointments in the cancer wing are always 40 minutes or more behind schedule. In addition, they have changed my doctor every year, usually without warning because the doctor has moved on to work elsewhere. This lack of consistency also includes not meeting my surgeon until they day of the surgery and still having to demand that my follow up appointments were scheduled with her, before she switched hospitals too.
Was at the ER last night. Got there after work at 5:40 pm and we got home around 2:30 am just to say there is nothing wrong after all the testing. Terrible terrible experience! I have no words to say how badly the experience was! And no solution to the pain but tylenol and not even a pain reliever.
Worst big for nothing hospital. Very unorganized. The labor and delivery unit is the worse. Asked for epidural many times and was told to wait multiple times because they need my blood work first. I was in so much pain and the nurses told me to be quiet.Ended up giving natural labor with no pain medication and there were no monitors connected to me during the process. I swore I was in a third world country. Would never recommend this hospital. Worst experience ever!
My mom recently finished her radiation at this hospital. The staff did an excellent job of providing information. They also provided such genuine care and I am so pleased my mom was treated there. A special thank you to Andrew in Radiation, who went above and beyond to make sure my mom was cared for and comfortable. He is a rare find, glad he was there for her.
Worst experience of my life I came in with back pain and the doctor told me that My pain was not an emergency and the emergency is only for emergencies only, the nurses didn’t come and check up on me which is so bad, I don’t recommend this hospital, the doctor didn’t even get me to explain my pain. I think I will be going to Mississauga hospital from now on
I think most of the negative ratings are due to rule put in place place provide FREE healthcare to all Ontarians. Obvious reasons if it is a private facility they could extremely good care for few people. Not all the have same financial power and even the ones who has strength and power may not have it when they grow older. What is needed and expected reasonable care without willful negligence. We had two beautiful kids their and they were cared for very well. I also had a injury and I was well looked after by the plastic surgeons. I happy with the service received.
Good luck if you go for an emergency visit. You will wait a good 8 hours for a bed. I think it is a system wide issue. Funny how the the hospital will never reply to people's comments, especially if it is a constructive criticism. Here is an idea, have you ever considered an urgent care clinic????
Terrible wait times. We had to wait for about 5hours to get my friend examined by a doctor even coming from an ambulance. She was in terrible pain and bleeding, but none seemed to care. Only the ambulance staff were seem to care.
They hospital is a death zone. Please never take your family there cos they might not leave there alive. I went there presenting every symptom of covid with serious underlying health condition, I was stirring right in front of the nurses station complaining of chest pain and none of the nurses bulged.
Had baby June 2020. Labour nurse Theresa was fantastic. She was very encouraging and gave excellent care. Being a first time mom that really helped. The doctor and residents during delivery were excellent and coached well. However the nurses during my 24 hour observation after birth were horrible. I had one nurse ask me if I took prenatal classes *covid so classes were canceled but thats irrelevant.Very rude of her. I had another nurse refuse to give me an extra pad eventhough I really needed it. It just made things worse when spouses were not allowed to be present during the observation period due to the pandemic. It was hard especially for my first time having a baby.
Short waiting time in this hospital besides the amazing staff and professional nurses as well as doctors.
The waiting times here are AWFULLY LONG, a true testament to the quality of Canadian healthcare. You will wait for SIX HOURS to see a physician (if you're lucky) in the emergency room, and they will spend 3 minutes with you, ask a couple of pointless questions and tell you to take Advil. It's ridiculous how BAD the service is on this hospital. They don't even assign a doctor to you in the first 4h after triage, and even infants are treated with little to no concern by nurses and staff.
This review is regarding diagnostic imaging department. First of all, right from security to initial reception to diagnostic reception to nurses/technicians all staff were professional and friendly. The MRI process is loud but I was given ear plugs and headphones to keep the noise down. I relate the noise to listening to loud techno music. The techs/nurses are in constant communication and I found the process to be very smooth. A big thank you to everyone at diagnostic imaging for your time and help with my MRI. For those who are about to have an MRI, it's not a long test and the staff will make everything as easy as possible.
Need a better system in place. 7 hrs is waaaay too long for something they could have simply advised from the beginning. I saw like 5 people before the supposid doctor. Perhaps to help filter out the patients who either cannot be helped or simply who they don't want to help. I would probably die before they took me serious. These "drs & nurses" need to humble themselves and take each person as a case by case. My GP told me to go to the ER. I didn't decide that. And I totally regret it. Don't go to this location. Go to Trillium on Queensway. Maybe you'll get better treatment. So disgusted with my experiences in the hospital. Not my fault theres 20 people standing around instead of attending to those who need some instruction/direction.
Credit valley hospital one of the biggest hospital in Mississauga , a large area for paid parking as well a big parking building , the hospital organized from out side as it’s easy for wheelchairs to navigate easily and smooth, they have a drop and pickup place , two entrance one for emergencies the other one for the hospital, very clean hospital, staff are so friendly and kind , the hospital organized so you can find your way easily, also inside the hospital they have couple of tim Horton store , second cup store , gift shops, and convince store , also they have a parking payments machine you can pay when you are done with your visit or appointments, they have a seating area near the front door you can seat or have coffee or waiting , in general everything was perfect during my visit for CT scan , the imaging section so clean the staff on front desk was so kind and friendly , the CT scan nurse was really really friendly and helpful, overall I recommend this hospital, you can ask your family doctor to refer you to this hospital, thanks
they take more than 7 hours for an emergency case guy was hurt badly unable to move his arm but they take 7 hours to have a look only wow nice (what a joke they made for an emergency case )
Service was excellent. We were looked after quickly (mostly because we went really early in the morning) Staff were friendly. The food was so cliche. Overall, great, great hospital. Recommended mostly for more serious health issues because waiting time will be longer for common health problems.
staff is friendly and professional. i've had no issues at this hospital and i've been there on multiple occasions.
Where I'm from...if there is an overwhelming amount of patients that need to be seen in the emergency room...the doctors, nurses, med students, and whoever else...don't take breaks and stay as long as they need to. That's what the medical field is for. People who care about helping others. I'm a student and have no family here...I was left in the waiting room with pneumonia for 9 hours by myself while I watched everyone else have their significant others or mothers pester the staff to be seen asap. If I got up I would have fainted. I was so out of breath I couldn't call for someone if I tried. Because this stress was giving me a panic attack...they just let me sit there thinking it wasn't a big deal. I came in because I was short of breath and the way they dealt with me was what was giving me the panic attacks. Got in at 2 pm and left at 1030 pm with a prescription for puenomnia and no way to start antibiotics until the next day. I will never come here again. Oh...and the nurse can't poke an IV for the life of her. I shouldn't have a bruise from a needle.
Worst hospital ever! Unacceptable hours oh wait in ER. Doc didn't turn up and when I asked to email me the lab reports. They refused.
Very good hospital but needs to be expanded. Staff is very friendly and professional
Staff and Doctors at mother and baby unit were highly skilled and knowledgeable, very clean facility, overall great experience
was here in april 2017. I had some of the best nurses in the surgery 1B ward. Can't give them enough thanks. I only had one incident in the middle of the night where I needed their assistance to go the bathroom and they didn't come so I forced myself to do what I needed help doing. And one of my day nurses seemed like she didn't care. My surgeon and general care from the nurses were otherwise good. The only bad thing is that the internet is ridiculously expensive. I was there for 7 days, and it was $25. $10 seemed more appropriate to be honest.
Really appreciate that the hospital offers drive-thru COVID testing and that they have dedicated staff providing updates to people in line. That being said, they lose stars for no signage at the roads where the line actually starts (Eglinton Ave/Credit Valley Rd). Also, they lose stars for updating people and turning people quickly enough. I waited an hour before I finally got onto Credit Valley Rd and was told there are 200 patients ahead of me so estimated wait time is 6-7 hours which was the case all day yesterday (September 15). It could be the recent spike in cases and the fact people are returning to work but still I found that turn over a bit ridiculous given the spike was anticipated by all; thought they’d be even better prepared.
I'm writing this review on behalf of my brave, beautiful mom who passed away on September 11th while battling stage 4 Ovarian Cancer. I hope it can inspire anyone seeking Cancer support to please follow your instincts when you get the feeling your care is not being taken seriously. It can make a difference for your quality of support and length of life. My mom was only 63 years old, she wanted to live, she told me just 2 weeks ago she would never give up hope, but this hospital didn't consider that will to fight. We felt like they wrote her off as hopeless and made sure we felt that throughout her so called care. My mom deserved better care, and we deserved better compassion and understanding. I would never recommend this cold, unsympathetic and hopeless hospital for anyone's care.
Super slow service, a sick baby have to waot more than 2 hours after midnight. I understand the priority is a person who is more sick and need more attention but sick baby, crangky and yet still have to wait for hours is crazy. Yet the staff are chit chatting and laughing, relaxing. There is no sense of urgency at all. If my daughter not happen to be at night i refused to bring here to this hoapital. Worse experience ever for big hospital. Sad but we as patient seem like we have no choice. This is a baby and i as the father also have a job too sick crangky baby cant wait all night! Trilium health monopolize the hospital and we as patient have no choice but to play by their games. Not fair at all. Crazy, im really upset.
The people whom we have dealt with over the years were all awesome. Always a very clean facility with the welcome of lil coffee shops and pizza restaurant at both ground floor entrances no hassle to grab something last min. for your friends family and or loved one (there is also a gift shop as well).???????????????????????????? Easily find your way around signs everywhere. I enjoy seeing the different artwork around .( Parking is an issue here )
Amazing doctors but pathetic experience we have with one of the nurse today at ER. Very rude and very unkind! Guys you’re doctors/nurses... least you can do is to be kind and not rude. For this you don’t need any degree!
The emergency department was not built to accommodate the population of Mississauga. Nurses are eating and talking. Emergency is packed. Terrible atmosphere for people that really need help. The wait times are over four hours. No beds for people really in pain. I would not recommend emergency. So many nurses behind computers for lengthy amounts of time.
I would like to be honest here that I really had good experience with some nurses. Delivery unit nurses were just awesome specifically (magda) and my doctor corbey they were great who kept me motivated when I was in labor. Maternity unit staff was okay, some were very nice and responding but some used to take hours just to get water. In the end, they took good care of me and my baby and I would definitely recommend this hospital if you are planning to deliver a baby here.
Quite simply the worst hospital in Ontario. Rude staff, incompetent staff and less than acceptable wait times. I went to the ER after rupturing my bicep tendon. Needless to say I waited 6 hours before I even saw a doctor. When I did he was very casual, uncaring and even left me at one point for 15mins to take a phone call. He came back and said "hhmmm you may have a torn muscle I'll send you to see a specialist in A WEEK." A week with a muscle hanging off the bone. Never sent me for x-ray or ultrasound. Just put a sling on my srm and said bye. The week passed and I went to the appointment. The Dr here spent less than ONE MINUTE with me and said "sorry I don't do arms they sent you to the wrong doctor." Zero compassion. So I waited another week to finally see an arm surgeon who then told me my tendon was ruptured and the surgery should have been completed within 48 hours of the initial injury. So he clearled his schedule and operated on me the following morning. So because the initial ER doctor was lazy and uncaring I was left waiting 2 weeks with a ruptured tendon. Avoid this hospital at all costs.
Loved the hospital and the staff…labour and delivery wing is the best. Nurses are very caring. I delivered last June 14th. I really love the nurse who take care of me her name is Nurse Patience she with nurse felly. She was so gentle and too kind❤️❤️ If i were to deliver again i wish i could have her as my nurse again❤️
Recently visited the credit valley hospital emergency. They should consider increasing the beds or consider mobile beds (so that Doctor can see the patients while waiting in the waiting room if the patient doesn't care about the privacy) to avoid 3 hours wait! Have seen people just leaving without even seeing the Doctor after waiting for so long which is not good. They basically denied the basic health care service that is a fundamental right of every tax paper. Especially when the patients have toddlers and female patients who are already in pain and the long wait times aggravates the pain. Thanks for considering (even if they acknowledge this issue that would suffice).
I was born here. 10/10, would be born here again.
Absolute nightmare trying to find parking. Way too crowded. If you have an appointment, get there 45 minutes earlier.
Went to ER for joint pain. It took 5 hours to get my arm checked for pain in the joints! Ridiculous wait time. I was called in to see the doctor, but was kept waiting for an hour before the doctor came in. On top of that, they did not print the name of my family physician correctly and now i cannot access the results of my blood work even if i go in person.
the best hospital ive been to went in with chestpains i had me in so fast i was put in the icu for a month. they saved my life
Dropped my 80yr old mum to the CV hospital and tried twice to get an update and got put on hold and cut off. Now 8pm and I don’t know what’s going on. No update. I can’t expect the poor nurses to update me. During Covid they need a “support line” to just answer/update concerned family members who are stressed during this time not knowing about their loved ones. I realize this is the worst time but don’t cut costs on healthcare.
Good hospital but sometimes can take a long time to get in
Visited April 18th, 2019. To the triage nurse, be specific on your report. THIS AM is vague for last medication taken, when it's 2:30 in the afternoon. What was the amount taken?? The patients color is good. Really? I had a fever. To the Dr. in ECare. Yes, I did have a fever even if you didn't agree, becsuse it wasn't considered a "medical fever", and I insisted something was wrong. I was discharged without a blood test which would have been positive for THE SHINGLES VIRUS. Now I may have nerve pain on my scalp and face for the rest of my life.
Fracture clinic is ALWAYS triple over booked last time we were here he waited 3 hours to see the doctor even though we had a 10 am APPOINTMENT. Again we have another appointment and waited 2 hours. Absolutely ridiculous.
I had 2 of my pregnancies at cvh, however the staff are so unprofessional. I called the postpartum dept and spoke with manager Linda, reason why was the fact I had to reschedule my appointment due to the fact my grandmother past away, I was on very heavy periods with a lot of pain and I have 2 kids under 2 so was very hard for me to leave that day, I explained to the manager Linda my whole situation and requested the $50 to be waived but she was so rude and didn’t care what I was saying to the extent I told her I’ll tweet this about your behaviour and the staff people, she replied “ you can tweet whatever you want “. I’m disgusted by the immature behaviour and how everyone is after money not caring about people and their situations. For sure whenever I expect a 3rd child will not be coming to cvh!!! Nobody deal with Linda the manager at postpartum she is rude and absolutely disgusting.
My sister had her baby yesterday at Credit valley ive had my son 5 years ago at trillium peel DONT DO IT!!! Trillium is horrible they dont have enough room we had coverage for a room from my husband being in the military and my birthplan was in shambles at trillium! I booked a birthing pool they were out of service (they were out of service for weeks) we booked a private room it was given to someone else, and they put me in a regular room that was literally two feet by two feet no one could move it was the worst experiance as a mother and the nurses there were so unhelpful and rude i cried when i came home with my child it was that bad. Please please please chose any other hospital except trillium i highly reccomend credit valley for all emergency and pregnancy needs! Even mount siani!! Booking in advance always helps too! The rooms at credit valley are sooooo beautiful when i came in yesterday i was so jelouse i told my sister the next baby i have will be here! You could literally fit 5 beds into one room and still have room fr a whole family! Also her dr. Delivered both her babies and both had complications you should feel that creditvalley will meet every need for mother and child i promise you!
During the past month and a half I have taken 2 of my daughter's to the Emergency Department at CVH . On three separate occasions all of the staff we dealt with were very professional, compassionate and went above and beyond in their dealings with their patients. Too often people only share their negative experiences and I just wanted to express my thanks to the staff for making a long and difficult visit much easier.
Dr Rafael is awesome but you can't say that for all nurses some of them is excellent but some is worse than worse can be... But you have to have in mind that they are dealing most of the time with patients not doctors so I do have understanding for them especially when you see how patients can be rude and very offensive to them so respect for stuff especially for Dr. Rafael from fracture clinic!
I was there actually twice in the last month. As far as hospitals go, and I do work at 1 in Toronto, it is very well organized as far as the triage and registration process goes. Staff are friendly and engaging. This hospital has very high volume throughout the day as it is only one of two hospitals in Mississauga. Overall my experience, both times at Credit Valley was rather expeditious and I left feeling better mentally then when I arrived. All hospitals are overwhelmed right now due to several reasons one obviously being covid-19! Nurses and doctors now are experiencing burnout! So over all my experience there was quite good. You have to be prepared for wait times as there are so many people that are ill in the hospital not just emerge. My advice is to go early!! The two times I went there I was there at 7:30 and 7am respectively. Both times I was through triage and registration quite quickly and then into a room. So like the old saying goes early bird gets the worm!
The most horrifying experience of our lives! With 2 Weeks newborn left at home and waiting for 14hrs at the emergency, we were sent home by the on call surgeon without any treatment at all. There was only one surgeon available at the whole hospital who was too busy to just tell us that small surgery needs to be done by another department which closes at 5pm. After visits from 4 different doctors, and after all the tests were done, they paged the doctor by 2pm and he came by at 10:30pm. In the evening wife fainted twice because the nurses asked her not to eat the whole day and then one nurse constantly instigated her while I was away, making her cry. The nurse said, I quote, "we are at the mercy of the surgeons". With such pain my wife sat in the waiting area without any room or stretcher to lie on the whole day. Some of the nurses have no remorse or humanity in them. Horrible human beings to be in such profession.
I'd give it a 0 if I could. 3rd world Hospital!!
Credit valley hospital is a family oriented hospital and I love how they go above and beyond to help patients.
On November 25th, 2021 just before 9pm I was moved from The Care Centre to G1 where I was welcomed by a young boy nurse who was to take care of me that night. I asked to move the bed closer to the wall so asked me to get off the bed (?) so I did and he tried but didn’t move so said what was evident so I told him maybe better to get the wheel breaks off before so he did it and moved the bed. I needed the washroom so I asked him what to do with the fluids so he was lazy enough to not disconnect me nor provide a carry on holder but asked me to go holding the fluids in my hands. I found out almost impossible to use the washroom while holding the fluids as there’s no place there to hold it. Back to the room I told him the unacceptable experience and his answer was “I didn’t know”and that’s all. Then I found out the arm patch for the AV was bloody and bleeding so showed him who said it works so is fine. I asked to talk to his supervisor who confirmed that happens and nothing wrong with that. Well as a person coming from 2 days in ER also being in the same hospital the week before I knew that happens but what other nurses in ER did right away was to remove, clean and replace it. Not in G1 until I expressed my disappointment. I came from ER where fluids where provided all the time as per doctor’s instruction and they moved me to G1 same; however, after all the incident with the AV arm patch they haven’t connected the fluids at least until the time I’m writing this review. And the list of unacceptable incidents goes on making me very concerned about my health and safety while here in the G1 area at the Credit Valley Hospital and make them fully responsible if my health and safety is compromised.
They took care of me extremely well! Really happy for all their help during and after my surgery!
The nurses and doctors are courteous and kind. The outpatient process was very supportive and efficient. We were equipped with all the resources to help us and after leaving.
Nurse Leodina Bolentiru was an amazing and caring nurse and took care of me while I was in pain. She made me feel comfortable and was always there when I needed assistance. She is very friendly, professional, and patient. She is the definition of a nurse - kind, caring, and attentive to patients needs. Thank you again nurse Dina for all your help! My family and I are very blessed to have had you by my side! -Ken Ali
Horrible wait times. Feels like a 4th world country when it comes to that. Slow staff using cell phones and chatting. 50% of the nurses treat infants in an improper way. Mind you there are some nurses that are nice but some of them horrible. The entire time she complained that they are short staffed. That doesn’t mean you treat us differently. Also when you have to wait hours in emergency, why dont you have an appointment booking system. App just lets us know its time. ITS HIGH TIME MANAGEMENT DOES SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. taxpayer money not used properly. Hire more staff. Hire cheaper doctors from overseas for all I care. RIDICULOUS!
This hospital is the most unorganized hospital I've ever been to. I entered the emergency room at 2:00, and exited at 11:30, and the results were :Nothing is wrong with you, when clearly even I knew there was. I went to another doctor and they found my problem. this hospital has no respect for patients and treats them like garbage. Would never recommend this to anyone. Brampton Civic is a lot better.
WORST HOSPITAL IN GTA. MY SON BEEN SICK A FEW TIMES OVER THE YEARS AND EVERY TIME WE GO TO HAVE HIM CHECK OUT WE END UP LEAVING CUZ THE WAIT TIMES IS 4 TO 5 HOURS.
Reasonable helpful ground staff including doctors; services are good except 3rd party counters- blood work, ETR- Emergency is not the one you want to visit.
I had an amazing experience in emerge last night. The emerge team (doctor, nurses, porters, and digital imaging staff) all showed great compassion and took great care of me, ensuring I was warm, hydrated, and pain and nausea free. This was my first time as a patient at this hospital and it was the best service I have ever received in an emergency department. Thank you! My only suggestion to staff is to not put your fellow health care providers down, when I was having my blood drawn, I didn't need to hear how the paramedics don't put the IV's in right.. the paramedics were amazing and my IV was patent.
No Emergency Doctor between the hours of 2 am and 7 am. Should you require medical attention between these hours you should go to another capable hospital - or sit for more than 5 hours as the staff packs the Emerg with in-patients. This was not a one time event. It may be an issue with staffing enough doctors to cover the night shift - if you can't shut the unit down over night so people can find medical attention elsewhere.
My stay at this hospital was excellent. The nurses were amazingly kind and supportive. I have never had anything nice to say about a hospital but this place is amazing. Thank you all for your kindness and support.
Dr. Rajesh Chakravertty performed a left knee arthroplasty (Total Knee Replacement - TKR). After several weeks' delay in seeing him (due to new phone system problems) he scheduled surgery just two weeks after my first visit with him! Remarkable job! My Manual Concepts Physio-Therapist in Guelph said I was her first patient in 10 years of professional practice to achieve +120 degrees of flexion. Tremendous team effort between Surgeon, Physio-Therapist and Patient.
If I could put 0 star, I would. I’ve had TWO specialist appointments cancelled by this disgrace of a hospital. July 11th I had a medical emergency that required attention, I was given medication and scheduled a specialist appointment for August 24th, a whole month and a half after. I struggled with pain and discomfort many times and eventually they had squeezed me into the clinic hours the beginning of August. This is when I saw Dr. Papnikolau, who is not the initial specialist I was supposed to see, he had been incredibly rude with me, barely gave me any medical advice and explained to me that he was not the surgeon to help me. No big deal, I decide to wait for my initial appointment on Aug 24 with Dr. Short. The day finally comes and I’m told that my appointment was cancelled, no phone call, no email, nothing and I’m told that Dr. Short won’t even fit me back in even though I’m in the waiting room begging! No explanation or anything given. Public relations and patient support were absolutely 0 help whatsoever, all I was told was to go back to my family doctor and get another referral. Funny enough, my referral came from the emergency department in the hospital. So that’s what I did, and unfortunately I had another medical issue, so I went to the ER again, and I was given ANOTHER referral to Dr. Short - which again was another month away. No problem. However, less than 24 hours before the appointment, I receive a call and am told that Dr. Short will be cancelling my appointment because I am “a patient of Dr. Papanikolau” even though when I had my referral made, I had special request that I DO NOT see Papanikolau again. I begged not to cancel the appointment again, and they said that it was already done. Patient relations was also 0 help whatsoever, they just said to go back to my family doctor and get a referral to a specialist outside of trillium health partners - so this is what they allow their doctors to do to patients? I have been in pain and discomfort for over three months now and this hospital has been nothing short of a nightmare. Absolutely disgraceful specialist team and brutal hospital.
One of the best hospitals in Mississauga. My two kids were born there.
I called to book an appointment and unfortunately I called the wrong number. The administration was incredibly condescending and rude. What a shame. If a person is concerned about something, the least you can do is be understanding and direct them to where they need to be.
I would never go there again if given choice. Worst nurses i have ever seen specially SID I don’t want to use her full name. Yea Private room Is charged for $300 but facilitates for $30 only. …
This place is hell for patients. Only one doctor and she is in emergency. People are waiting and there is no clear answer about the estimated time. My 2 years old son having abdominal pain is starving and nurses here recommend not to give him anything to eat. Not sure how this broken medical system is functioning
Completely incapable of taking care of patients with dementia, both in the ER and in general population. They won't allow a family member to stay and help due to COVID. They will provide you with basic information over the phone, such as "we can't find him, but we have a few people searching" (no mask, lost trolling around the entire hospital) or "no you can't bring him clothing because it has to be disinfected" (even though he's been in the same socks and underwear for a week); but it's virtually impossible to get any health related information from a Doctor. You won't know the diagnosis, you won't know when they might be able to leave, you won't even know if they are still in the hospital or laying in a frozen ditch somewhere; especially when you have a nurse telling you that they have to let them leave if they refuse treatment (because their medical proxy can't be there with them). I could go on ad nauseam, but also can't go on because it's too painful to talk about.
Thank you. Absolutely everyone was incredible. It was a long day but we always felt taken care of. That's all people want. What a huge improvement from 20 years ago.
My father had a very big emergency surgery, he was taken to hospital via ambulance without my family being by his side or my mother. He spent two days having to go through severe pain until it was decided he will have a surgery. The last time we spoke to my father was before his surgery almost 48 hours ago, we had no contact with him except a call from the surgeon whom I spoke to after the surgery was completed. Turned out my fathers phone battery was dead and his charger stopped working. I then decided to buy a charger and take it to credit valley to have it given to my father, as i entered screen officers asked me why i am here, i kindly explained the situation through tears and they stopped me and said that they cannot take any such items and told me there is nothing they can’t do because that is the policy, i made sure the charger was sealed closed and sanitized. Through tears, I started aruging and losing my temper and out of no where a doctor of the hospital who i call an angel sent came and asked what happened, i explained to the doctor The situation and she was very nice to go a step further and speak to the head nurse of where my father is and that head nurse was nice also, and told the doctor she can bring the charger in however the screen officer said to the doctor do not take the charger as it is not allowed the doctor asked the screen officer to speak to his team leader whom she spoke to and that team leader said not to take that charger, the doctor then asked the team leader of the head doctor name and she mentioned to the supervisor that she will speak to that doctor...and eventually that doctor took the charger for me to my father. my point of not recommending is not because of the doctors or nurses but because of the team of screen officers who are so ignorant and have no heart for anyone during this most difficult time. i would like to escalate this matter further, not only for myself but for others who may experience this because this is not like these people are staying in hospitals 24/7 they are going home, they are driving.... can they not bring the virus with them... THIS NEEDS TO STOP NOW!
I was so hesitant to come here based on the reviews. Honestly, I was so pleasantly surprised 10000× better than brampton civic.. when I arrived, Ronaldo took care of me at Triage than directed me to E care centre, both Asian men working at the front desk at the E centre department are very nice and kind. I believe Rohan philippiano gentleman directed me each time where to go and did his best to assist me each time. So much better than brampton civic...what a huge difference. Matthew came to check in with me who examined me properly. Took their time to ensure there's nothing too serious. BIG thank you to ASHLEY she's the sweetest and kindest nurse I've ever come across. She was keeping me calm during my exam as it was very uncomfortable but her support meant the world. I even asked, if she can be in the room when I deliver. Honestly, so sweet and helpful. She's a Asian young lady. Bless her heart. The female gyno is amazing.!! Very warm staff!!! They are very thorough and take their time. I know, it can be difficult waiting but trust me, this hospital is alot better than any other ones, I've been too. Selma who is a ultrasound sound technician was also very helpful and kind. Made me feel comfortable. Takhshani did my anatomy ultrasound and it was such a warm experience. She even had music playing in the room, which was nice and calming!! She is awesome and thank you again, hun :)
Great for dealing with the occasional concussion.
I would like to say a huge Thank you to all the caring, attentive staff at the hospital. Without you my stay would have been unpleasant. I came in through the Emergency and was made very comfortable immediately. Thank you all again.
Great experience everytime. Almost all the staff are super friendly, caring, and very helpful. I would like to reconize Sharon from Maternity area for always going over and beyond!
I was at the hospital last week and although it was super busy, I didn't have to wait long to see my doctor.. Thanks for your service!
Bear the pain and don't go to this hospital. This is not a hospital but a torture cell of Guantanamo-bay. They will make your remember your pain and suffering for the rest of your and your family lives. Hospital CEO, Board of Directors, doctors, nurses and other staff should be fired (by a firing squad). Shameless!
Worst mental health care my poor family has ever had the displeasure of experiencing. The doctors aren't knowledgeable and the emergency ward looks like its from a third world country. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.
Horrible service as well as 8+ hour wait time in the ER. Doctors and nurses don't give you any information regarding the medical assessment or wait times.
Worst ER ever! Been here since 11pm, it's now 3:30am. Still haven't been seen by a doctor. As I write this the doctors are sitting in the office talking and are apparently "off duty" now and I'm waiting for the "on cal doctor". The on call doctor won't be in until 5am so the rooms full of patients won't be seen between now and then. There are no doctors to see the patients. How is this possible!? The nurses aren't polite and don't seem to care that they've had people waiting for hours! People who were here before me are still here waiting. I will never come back to credit valley for the ER again. I would rather drive further out of my way than return. The only reason this rating is 1 star is because that is the lowest rating that I can give.
Worst hospital, and the worse emergency department ever.
we've repeatedly observed that the quality of services here have went down significantly. My grandmother has been there multiple times and has received very little care every time. My grandmother doesn't eat meat; when she got a turkey and ham sandwich, we requested to get Veggie instead (this was at 5 PM). she didn't get any food. When the nurse came at 9 PM, we asked about the food, her response was that the kitchen is closed, and then just stared at us. She basically told us to get her food our selves. This is fine! but what if we were not here? She last ate anything at 12 PM, would she then starve till the next morning? she doesn't speak English either...No compassion for the patient at all... Still its been 3 days and not a single doctor came to see her or helped her with issues with very serious delirium and not being able to sleep for 72 hours straight... We've been coming here for 15 years. But this is just unacceptable. Don't bring elderly patients here.
Long wait times, rude arrogant and Uncompassionate, incompetent nurses & staff, decaying health system. This Hospital, specifically the EMERGENCY LAB is absolutely the worst Hospital in Canada, it’s just a complete joke. Y’all go and visit that hospital one day for any purpose and you’ll see how bad it’s.
The staff were very helpful and supportive. My only wish is that WiFi would be available for all as there is no better time to have time to use it. There is a sign up for WiFi but found that it often didn't work.
My wife delivered two days back in Credit Valley. We had a great experience. Big thanks to the fantastic nurse Liana Kornyk - she was simply amazing. She took tremendous care of my wife and she was very knowledgeable, kind and willing to happily help all the time. If anyone is planning to deliver there, make sure you call for Liana :)
Super nice nurses! Very helpful Customer service excellent The drive threw screening itself is organized and OK The result took 24 hrs , super fast, but I went early 6 am on Saturday morning so everyone was sleeping , so I sacrificed my Saturday morning to get quick results !! Good job
It’s 1:30pm on dec/14/2021 we come here in the morning 7:40am for my 2 year old son for Emergency and still waiting Well come to canada so call free medical county ????
I was born here, doctors said I had a natural birth but my head is rather flat so I'm pretty sure they had to use extra force to get my little bastard ass out, rate the whole experience 4.3/10
For out of state residents it's a 600 plus dollars for registration. Did not assist in a great manner there was a wait time, it was like the example of one hand doesn't know what the other hand was doing it. It was a waste of time going to this Hospital. Would not recommend..we left and went somewhere else.
The credit valley family health team and the endocrinology doctors team is very good...Though getting an appointment is very difficult on phone most of the times it's due to the large no of patients they are each day. They do accept walk-in for emergencies which is a very good relief. They do have evening clinic too for urgent treatment. The front desk staff is very polite too..The doctors are very kind and very confident about what they are dealing with. We feel safe in their hands.Nurses are very polite and efficient in administering vaccines..They are very approachable.
I went to Credit Valley Wednesday night Aug 13, 2019, To be with my friend who was in emergency with her daughter, She waited 3hrs before seeing a triage nurse and then was sent to Care Centre D. When I arrived she was having blood tests done, she was a little wobbly when she got up and the 2 nurses that were in the room just ignored her, if I hadn’t been there she would've fell. We waited for several hours just to see the doctor and that wasn’t until 2am in the morning, so that’s (6.5hr after arriving) that’s ridiculous, I did hear one of the nurses say that at 7pm all of the nurses were running back and forth to patients, it was a mad house and as said in numerous ratings, there was only 1 doctor for all those patients. There’s more nurses then doctors, The doctor was great but my friend ended up still getting no answers, we were sent back into the waiting room and the doctor suggested that my friend stay overnight too see if she could get squeezed in for an mri, those chairs in the waiting room are uncomfortable and small that u can’t even sleep in them, they only had a minimum of recliners but they were all taken. I think this new emergency Dept is good but they need extra comfy chairs for patients who have stay overnight and can’t get a recliner.
Don't trust on anyone in this hospital. They charge more money from patient and not assure the fitness of patient
Very busy hospital during the day. Staff & volenteers were super friendly! Renovations are beautiful & intake was a breeze. I was sent to RAZZ where the wait time was long, and common seating area was packed. Doctor was good, but not overly thorough. Bathrooms were not clean at all. Their was blood all over the floors & the toilet was disgusting. All and all though a pretty satisfactory visit!
I had my third baby here and it is by far the best hospital to deliver a baby at. I have various complaints about Mount Sinai Hospital and Trillium Hospital! I only have positive things to say about Credit Valley. Everyone was very nice and they accommodated every request my husband and I had. It was by far the best experience I have had giving birth. Thank you to everyone at Credit Valley Hospital!!
Beautiful facility. I have had several experiences here. All very good. Everyone I have encountered is very professional, from reception to nurses. The doctors and surgeons have provided excellent care. And the volunteers are amazing!
Good care. But one of the overnight. Nurses in care center E (European accent) was rude and insensitive. Not just to us but other patients as well. Not very comforting considering you're in the ER.
I had such a terrible experience when I went to the ER for a eye abrasion, I was checked in a timely fashion but I had to wait 6 hours to see a doctor. Since no one would tell me why I had to wait over 5 hours to see the doctor, I actually left before the doctor showed up.
Horrible!!! Absolute truth if you hear any negative or bad reviews. Most nurses are chit-chatting and doing absolutely nothing. Some nurses even admitted to it being true. Unfortunately It's been my third visit for my little one, with the hope that things have changed here, but my experience has been 5 to 6 hours waiting until you see a doctor. The nurses hold you here, give you medicine for the pain and just check your blood pressure multiple times throughout the night. If you don't speak up nothing gets done. Only then you're told...Oh! The doctor will be here in an hour, and sorry for the 5 hour wait but you have to come back tomorrow because we don't have a Tech here tonight. Seriously??!!!
I went to ER due to a dislocated elbow. The attention was beyond expected. I was lucky that I got treated quickly and I had a very nice nurse taking care of me. The doctors were very diligent. The place looked cleaned and very organized in regards to covid safety rules.
There’s a 50/50 chance of having a successful delivery here especially if you get a Dr Gurland who has killed many unborn babies under his care! Go somewhere else for labor.
I AM GUENTER'S WIFE DOREEN HES WAD ADMITTED TO CREDIT VALLEY 8 AUG FOR A STROKE HE WAS TREATED WONDERFUL FIRST BY PARAMEDICS NURSES AND DOCTORS FIRST CLASS NOT FORGETTING THE CLEANING CRES IF YOU THINK THEY ARE ALL CHATTING SOMETIME LISTED TO THEIR CONVERSATION NINE TIME OUT OF TEN IT IS ABOUT THE PEOPLE THEY ARE CARING FOR I WOULD HATE TO SEE EVERYONE WITH A LONG FACE THEY ARE OVER WORKED AND UNDERSTAFFED WE FEEL BLESSED TO HAVE BEEN CARED FOR SO WELL --FOOD WHAT CAN I SAY LOL THANK DOREEN BORK.
While the experience at Credit Valley was good for the most part, we found that when they had to move my daughter from one room to another they should have waited for me to pack up her personal items. The nurse or staff that did pack her items left so many things that were quickly claimed by the other patient they then assigned to the room. Now we have to incur additional costs just to replace these personal items that were left behind and why I'm sure that hospital staff knows what belongs to them. If they had only waited 30 mins I could have done the full sweep of the room and pack up all the items that belonged to us. Not good for my first experience at this hospital.
Was there for the first time. I live out of town, and i thought i was entering a mall. What a beautiful hospital
Great Hospital and thanks to all Nurses, Doctors and Staff.
Got pick up by ambulance Will and Kim, you men are incredible! Here is your “yelp” review, if I were able to give 10 ⭐️ you’d get that! Jessica
I was admitted for stage 3 colorectal cancer treatment. I found all services to be efficient, from radiation, chemo and finally a successful surgery by Dr. Tawadros. My 5 day stay was pleasant and I was well cared for by a friendly and efficient nursing staff.. Currently cancer free, I get regular follow-up treatments and could not be happier with the service. It is a big, busy hospital and I cannot understand all the negative ratings. Credit Valley Hospital deserves better. Thank you for saving me.
The staff is highly professional and treated me with care. Thank you for your service.
I've given this hospital several chances and I simply refuse to go here anymore. I'll take my chances going a little further to OTMH and risk dying than go to CVH ever again It used to be an amazing hospital, when I was younger I had really bad asthma and was in and out of the hospital with asthma attacks and never had a bad experience Over the past 6 years something changed and this place is a gong show I hope you guys can turn things around
You guys cause me more stress than anything. I thought you were supposed to be helpful. Instead, I'm left here feeling helpless and judged
Here with my wife. This hospital and clean and friendly. The Fusia Asia kitchen in downstairs cafeteria has great ! food.
I have lived in Mississauga for 25 years and this is the best hospital. Every single time I have been there I have always had great service. On Saturday August 23rd I drove an hour to bring my 4 year old daugher here. I originally brought my daughter to the Alliston Hospital around 1pm and was out by 2pm. The doctor there spent 5 seconds on each ear and said she had a really bad ear infection. I explain to them how she was throwing up all foods and even water. Also told them how when she would wake up her body would go stiff and then start to shake as if she was having a seizure . Doctor there still said an ear infection and wrote a prescription. Later the shakes got even worse and nothing was staying down. I brought her to credit valley and they took her right away. It turns out her blood sugar dropped to 2.4, needed an enama, and was VERY dehydrated. The staff from Credit Valley did an awesome job making my 4 year old daughter much better. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH ❤
Christmas Eve emerg and the nurses were just angels- positive, on the ball and compassionate. Thank you to the staff.
This was an awesome experience unlike what I had expected Was a little skeptical before I went here for a few tests as recommended by my family doctor I think I made a wise decision by not taking my car and having to search for parking I had my spouse drop me and called an Uber for my way back This was actually an awesome experience right from the start Went in through the main entrance where the Covid protocol was really in place with being polite and helpful After my covid protocol they had someone help me I mean accompany me to where I had to go since this was my first time to this hospital All my tests were done properly and professionally following all the COVID protocols The cleanliness was excellent The employees very warm and friendly actually ready to help Every single employee had the time to answer my queries Every one of them were warm and helpful Though far from my home no regrets as this was a super awesome experience
My wife delivered our second boy in this Hospital. Service was exceptional, staff very friendly and special thanks to Dr. Scott Tigert. Absolute 5 star!
The staff is amazing, they have modern equipment that make the job easy, and their facility is very clean. Highly recommend going to this hospital for a visit.
Very busy...but they are doing the best they can...been admitted many times and all except 1 Doctor I had were very kind and tried to make me comfortable....the 1 Doctor just made me feel like I was a bother....told him so too....he did not like my way of telling him so but I did apologize and he accepted that...hope I don't get him again....
Very caring and helpful staff
We recently had our baby boy, Aveer Arora at Credit Valley Hospital on July 23rd. It was such a wonderful and pleasant experience with all the staff members of Credit Valley Hospital. In other words, we must says it was flawless!!! We would like to thank our Dr Shannon Moore, our recovery nurse Laura, scrubbing nurse Sophia, our day nurses Jolene & Jeannie and the night nurse Anitha. Sorry if we missed few names. You guys are all wonderful and so patient and knowledgeable when it comes to our questions and concerns. You all rock!!!! Keep up the good work!!!!
Thank you Credit Valley Hospital for providing an excellent medical service during my delivery. The hospital was having strict rules regarding no visitors due to Covid 19 , my husband was not allowed during the labor assessment process i was afraid the whole time but the nurses in the labor assessment were very friendly and kept me relaxed and kept informing my husband about my condition.Once i was transferred to birthing suite the care was even more better and they took excellent care and my husband was allowed inside and the two nurses who were my guarding angels were Nurse Erica and Nurse Iva they were so sweet and kept monitoring me in labor.. the other best thing was my OB DR.Kerry Myckan she is the sweetest and most professional doctor she was very supportive and helped me throughout the procedure... I delivered a healthy baby girl and my entire journey of pregnancy to labor was safe and healthy thank you Credit Valley Hospital for providing and exceptional care and service ❤️
In July of 2020 I fractured my wrist and visited the emergency room of Credit Valley Hospital to have it examined. From beginning to end everything was organized and efficient. The nurses, doctors and therapists that took care of my wrist were amazing. I am so grateful to the staff at emergency, my wrist is now almost fully healed because of the great work they did. Thank you Gisellyn (RN), Dr. Nguyen (MD), Dr. Hi (MD) and Anoosh (RT). I want to extend another thank you to Dr. Manolopoulus and his staff at the Credit Valley Hospital Fracture Clinic. They were highly professional, efficient, and I could not be happier with the outcome and the recommendations for the physiotherapy.
Horrendous! Emerg docs have no clue how to deal with minors. Choose SickKids instead.
My second baby was born at Credit Valley hospital 4 years ago [today is her birthday). Very smooth delivery from A-Z. My wife recovered very quickly after C section. We went home 36 hours after delivery the baby. Feel fortunate to live in Mississauga.
Great experience with nurses and doctors in Mother and Baby care and NICU. Very caring and affectionate staff. Would recommend this location always. Thanks for the wonderful time!!
Worst service, I waited for 6 hrs to see a doctor. After got medication I waited for 2 hrs to remove the IV catheter. ????
6 hours sitting around in excruciating pain, not even able to sit. Not one person come up to me with any type of info or what's going to happen, just moved around about 6 times. What an absolute joke. Had to walk out without checking out because staff was M.I.A. hour passed my son's bedtime and no food in 8 hours. What a waste of my time
I'm really disappointed with some of the nurses at credit valley hospital! 50% of the nurses are very caring and the rest need more training to develop some feelings & compassion specifically for elderlies, who don't speak English. I noticed there's a lot of ignorance toward the elderlies. Half of the time when my mom calls for diaper change or water, they either forget about her or come 2 hours later, unfortunately the hospital is facing lack good passionate caring nurses.
Went with my daughter to the ER as she had twisted her finger. They took X Rays and after 2 hours said it is a sprain and applied tape and sent her home. At home they called saying it was a fracture and that we need to revisit the hospital right away to get a different tape with a splint. Thereafter after a couple of days went to the Plastics Dept. who applied another tape for $20 that was supposed to last 3 weeks. It came off in a day and then we went to a walk in to get it put on again by the doctor there. Such a frustrating experience we never even ever had in our own third world home country! CVH needs competent and trained staff, be it doctors or any other!
I was a patient at the Credit Valley Hospital and have only positive things to say about the staff at the hospital. The care was absolutely outstanding and all nurses were very attentive. They always responded to my needs to ensure I was as comfortable as could be expected under the circumstances. They continually enforced the doctors requirements for exercises set for the allow me to be released as soon as possible.
I went to the facility this past Friday. The experience was good but not great. The nurses were polite but not very helpful. I needed assistance walking due to my issue but did not get it. A nurse almost ran into me while wheeling a patient in the ER and it was uncomfortable laying on a cold bed while patiently waiting to see a doctor. Though it was not a very bad experience, I do think that their is room for much improvement in terms of staff having better customer care skills. Thank you to the nurse on staff that night who attended to me.
There is this team of doctors at the 2C Medicine and team of nurses who are very hard working, compassionate, respectful and gives dignity to patients. They listen to our concerns in matters of physiological, psychological, emotional well being of patients without any bias. Their belief and protocol in taking care of patients is working well. Thank you, credit valley hospital! However, our patient is still in your care as of this date.
Worst service ever. They aren’t there to treat patients but to frustrate them! In the emergency section they had shortage of beds and stretchers for patients. Their doctors and nurses absolutely failed showing care or understanding towards the patients.
It's a hospital. A pretty good one at that.
I heard and read great things about Credit Valley Hospital regarding labour and delivery, and did not hesitate to choose them for my first pregnancy. I think I just had way too high of expectations as this is my first hospital stay and pregnancy ever as my experience was just 'meh'. I loved all the doctors/obgyns that I dealt with during my pregnancy. I love Dr Cohan & Menzie in the high-risk clinic, they both monitored my condition frequently and recommended the best course of action for my early delivery. Dr Tigert is the one who delivered my daughter via emergency c-section. I gotta give it to him because I'm a big time wuss so I was freaking TF out before my c-section and he still remained calm LMFAO He even took a few minutes of his day every morning to check up on me post delivery too. He's very sweet! And all the nurses who saw my incision were surprised at how nice it was :) My favourite part of my delivery was definitely the doctors, very knowledgeable and I felt very safe with every single one that I had the pleasure of meeting! What really made my experience 'meh' were some of the nurses post delivery. I was there for about 2 days and seen about 6 nurses and only 2 of them really checked up on me frequently and brought my pain killers on time. I'd barely see the other nurses and would have to ask for pain killers. I had hypertensive blood pressure and I was only checked for it about 3 times after delivery... I was a bit taken back with my post delivery experience as the nurses before I was induced were amazing and monitored my blood pressure every couple hours.. My daughter was also in the NICU - I am extremely grateful for all the nurses that watched over Rylee and got her strong enough to come home in just 2 weeks!!! Special shout out to Nurse Michelle, Amanda, Cheryl and Karen. They were always there when I needed help and it felt like they genuinely cared to inform/teach me anything I needed, which made me feel more confident as a first-time mom. I found Annabelle quite rude, I understand that she deals with many first-time moms but she needs to watch the tone she gives off because it can put moms down, and that's not very nice considering 'baby blues' exist. Another thing that really bothered me about CVH is that I was always told different information depending on which nurse I'd ask. 1) The most annoying was when I was told my support person during my labour can change after my daughter arrives into the NICU, so I had my mom as my support person during labour. When the time came, another nurse told me I couldn't change to my husband so my husband didn't even get to see my daughter until after she was released from NICU. Cindee from NICU tried to help my husband come in which I am extremely grateful for, but NICU never bothered to follow up with me. 2) I was told by my discharge nurse to go to L&D the upcoming Sunday and provide them my appointment paper. I arrive there on Sunday and was told that apparently L&D call me to let me know when I come in ?? 3) Dr Cohan told me that if I ever feel any symptoms, to go to L&D and tell them that I am a patient from the high-risk clinic and have pre-eclampsia and that I have high blood pressure, baby not active, etc. I get there and the nurse says that pre-eclampsia and baby activity are completely different things.. like ok??? I was literally told by an obgyn to mention my high blood pressure. The final straw was when my bill came via mail. I requested for a private room at $300 per day, and I only stayed there for 2 days = $600 right? I got a $2,100 bill? I had to contact them to request a break down and reminded them I only stayed there for two days at $300 per day. Luckily it was quickly resolved and I was re-sent a bill with the correct amount. Though the doctors are AMAZING!! I don't think I would be coming back here for any future pregnancies due to my experiences post delivery.
I don't know who recruit account and billing department. I have paid my all Bill's in last year, when I was admitted. Now again they are calling and asking for money when I have told them It's already paid. After checking account they said ,yes it has been paid and sorry. After few days later, again I got call from credit valley asking for money which I have paid and they had confirmed on last call. If you guys don't know how to operate system and update the software. Is it our problem? Recruit some knowledgeable person instead of referal one.
I understand that it’s really busy but I am pregnant with bleeding and cramps and was told by one of the nurses that I would have to wait over 3 hours for the next doctor to see me because there are other patients ahead of me. Ummm the ER is priority based not first come first serve. If someone comes in compromised you don’t tack them at the bottom of a wait list. I was also triaged to the least acute area and was told I’m not priority. I can barely walk and am in extreme pain. I completely understand there are more acute patients then I but 3 hours (hopefully)to WAIT to even see a doctor when I’m bleeding a lot doesn’t seem ethical. How are you sure my hemoglobin levels are not dropping? When I already relayed that I have a low hemoglobin to begin with. I understand little can be done by the nurses before a doctor writes orders but no interventions that are within a nurses scope were offered (Tylenol-as per medical directive, blanket, a bed). I’m sitting in a damn chair .I am a nurse myself but don’t like to say it when in the hospital because I like to observe other healthcare workers care and I also understand the frustrations but jeez my symptoms do not qualify as a CTAS5 (Least priority) and a little compassion or at the very least doing your job properly would be nice. it’s really sad because the moment I got here I could tell no one gave two rats about me. I’ve had this feeling before at this hospital with the resident Dr. Brown but this is the closest hospital and when you think it’s an emergency you don’t go to a hospital far away. I left without being seen , still bleeding , still cramping and crying. Really sad guys.
Almost 4 months ago I went to the ER at night, during the start of my on-going illness. And only recently do I have the courage or energy to document my experience at the very fine ER at credit valley. I probably look like a 20 or 19 year old guy, am a little older. And I have been scarred by my experience here. I feel i lost my pervious personality, I have became more older mentally and serious. During my night at the ER i was met with probably the rudest, disgusting people who were working at night nurses there. As a guy I never cry, but my tears were greeted with cold humiliation and laughter by the wonderful night nurses. While the nurses were busy playing Candy Crush on their phones, they did not even bother to look in my eyes. As i asked them something, they completely ignored me. I was at the ER for a serious illness, and the rudeness they showed me... I think even vicious gangs or criminals would have treated a fellow human-being in my condition better. The nurses at night, I can give their description and the day they were working.... but it was completely and utterly inhumane the way i was treated. I lost who i was, a careless, fun, loving student. I would never expect this in canada. Something is seriously wrong... i don't know if it can even be fixed
Terribly managed hospital, and the nursing staff except for a few are very rude and unsympathetic. The wait times are v long and the attitude of the staff is inexcusable.
My mom passed away January I'm still confused how she died they never told me she was in a nursing home got taken there because she was having seizures they told me so many different things I was so confused the 2 nurses and one doctor were so nice you can hear it in their voices how much they cared but I will never forget the face of one doctor who was so rude he didn't care one bit when my daughter ask if her grandmother is going to die he was like maybe let nature take it course who says that
The worst Hospital in the world , they have no idea what is an emergency is , even if you are suffering severe pains or whatever they don't know anything about priorities , you have to wait 4 to 6 hours minimum to see a doctor and most of the times he or she doesn't help at all. The staff are very very rude to everyone , they don't even want to answer any questions.
My visit was not good. Waited hours to see a Dr. I was dealing with stomach pain. I got the assumption that the Dr. thought I was drug seeking. He did tests, didnt find anything, he released me as I was still in severe pain. I was crying in pain and all having a anxiety attack.. The nurse gives me my papers and said if I didn't leave soon I would be escorted out by security. I laid their and just cried. They told me if I wanted to see another Dr. I would have to start all over and wait hours to see another Dr. Still crying in pain , no one cared. Finally got to see another Dr. saw me shortly after I arrived back In the ER, immediately said I think I can help you with medications and within a hour I was feeling much better. I arrive there at 2:00 pm in the afternoon. Didn't receive any food until the next morning at around 8 am.This experience was very upsetting and had to deal with that pain for over 14 hours because the dr. thought I was seeking drugs. I was judged. I will avoid this hospital at all costs.
Poor service at emergency. Extremely long waiting time. Only 1 nurse is working. The rest of the staff are chatting about personal stuff.
Emergency team should explain ALL the rules to families of patients .. thanks to covid-19 family visitations are non existent .. emergency team neglect to mention family need to make appointment to drop off patients request for personal items .you put us in danger ..
Really appreciate the hard work of doctors, nurces and other hospital staff saving lives on daily basis. The incredible effort, care, patience of the nurces working on the front line fighting Covid will be never forgotten. You are real heros!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Worst hospital I have ever been to in my 44 years. Daughter arrived at 2pm. They did tests and said she would have to wait to see the specialist. It is now 2:46am. And we are still waiting in the er. Pretty bad when I use the public washroom and find a patient gown on the floor. Someone obviously escaped and went either home or to another hospital Ridiculous!
I have seen big possitive changes in the ER the reason i gave 3 star is because of the filthy disgusting washrooms i tried to used 4 different washrooms and ended up wanting to throw up
Worst parking facility of any hospital in the GTA Don't bother getting your prescription filled at the pharmacy here either. Terrible
Worst experience of my life in any hospital. My son was admitted here two weeks back as a simple case of appendicitis and is still here in serious condition because of the appaling, inhuman and unprofessional attitude of the hospital staff!! First they spolied the surgical procedure due to their negligence-leading to the development of abdominal abscess and hematoma-and now they are delaying any intervention, apparently due to to their internal politics and the rift between the surgeons and the interventional radiologists. This is causing unbearable suffering to my son who has been waiting for many days in the ward for the hematoma/abscess to be drained, which has been caused by their botched up surgery two weeks back. The surgeons agree that this indeed is an emergency which needs to be intervened immediately but also say that they are unable to perform the procedure because the interventional radiologists are not willing to co-opt. Owing to this, we have now been told by the hospital staff that our son would be shifted from here to another hospital, where this emergency procedure can be performed. But despite the lapse of 24 hours since this news, we are still waiting for him to be shifted to another place or for any procedure to be performed at this place. No relevant person from hospital is available who can help us in this dilema. We are in extreme distress and need urgent intervention in this critical situation.
The nurses on the reception in emergency are the worst, really they are the rudest and racist people in canada unfortunately they will ruin the reputation of the hospital and the manager of this hospital should do something to punish such rude old ladies. unlike the doctors and nurses inside the emergency room thet were very polite and helpful
Both my parents (both age 85) died here due to lack of care from the nurses and other staff. I can’t even stand driving near this place because it brings back so many bad memories of watching my Mum and Dad suffer and die.
Its better to die at home than get admitted in credit valley’s emergency !!
I had to visit ER of this hospital for treatment of my broken hand. I was hesitant to go there remembering my past experiences with other ERs. But at the end of this visit I came out with a totally different impression. Every kind of guidance, assistance and help was available readily. Volunteers, administration and medical staff was warm and friendly. They always tried there best to provide as homely atmosphere as possible. I was able to leave the hospital quite early than my expectations.
Too bad there isn’t an option to give this TERRIBLE hospital ZERO STARS! My boyfriend and I dealt with nothing but rude, inexperienced nurses and lies. ( Other than one awesome nurse Amanda, you rock girl!) The service was terrible, and my boyfriend literally vomitted all over the floor and I had to yell for help before any nurses realized, they were ABSOLOUTLY INATTENTIVE. After being told we would only be waiting an hour, we had been waiting for results for over 2 and half hours. I just am astonished at the lack of respect, or care from the staff at Credit Valley in the emergency department. Save your time, money and possibly your life by NOT GOING TO CREDIT VALLEY!
I was recently taken to the hospital by ambulance and admitted for a very bad bacterial leg infection. I was treated with so much respect and dignity it astounded me. Not that I have a bad idea of the hospital but during these recent tough …
I went for treatment at emergency fast track area. Doctor and Nurses were great, they moved me to ultrasound and blood test.Over all they are best when patients are treated best. So I gave them 4 stars.
I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and referred to Dr. Niaz. I was under his care for 2 weeks and did a surgery. I do not have the words to express my experience with him. My whole experience with him and his stuff was just beyond amazing. I definitely recommend him and his practice.
I am currently 37 weeks pregnant and having my regular prenatal visits but today's visit was extremely disappointing for both me and my husband because I had to buy my own ultrasound report for keeping my record. I had always been taking a copy of my ultrasound report throughout my pregnancy just for my satisfaction. But today when I asked for a copy of the report, the doctor initally denied to give it and then afterwards she asked if we still want it and made us pay $10 for the report. I am shocked at this kind of unethical conduct by such a reputed hospital's staff.
Before 2 months, I had a poisoning problem, before knowing this, the emergency guy says you can get medicine for vomiting ????, and when I reached the hospital, dairhea, vomiting and the people kept me waiting for hours in a ruthless attitudes, and at the end I was wearing diaper and still vomiting when the doctors and other 2 inhuman nurses ask me to leave as she said there is nothing we can do, well I left in taxi with same embarrassing symptoms and went to my doctor cause that was early morning, he gave me 2 medication, I was just fine in one hour, thank you credit vally for the most good for nothing workers who are chatting instead of calling a doctor
The experience I had about two weeks ago giving birth to my first baby was exceptional (besides the long wait in the labour and assessment unit). Due to the pandemic, my husband was not able to join me until I was admitted to the birthing suite. The wait for a doctor to check on me in the labour and assessment unit was very long though. I waited approximately 4 hours until a doctor came to confirm that my water had broke. A COVID test was completed prior to me leaving as well. After having my baby via c-section, we had to stay for an additional two days so that me and my baby could be monitored. All the nurses and doctors that checked in often were very nice, caring, and attentive. They taught us so many things from breastfeeding, bathing the baby, etc. On the second night, my baby was being very fussy at night and wouldn't stop crying. One of the nurses came in and took her for a while so we could get some rest. That was much needed! After being discharged from the hospital, we were booked for a follow-up appointment which I didn't know was a thing. The appointment consisted of checking on baby's weight and how feeding is going. At the end of my two follow-up appointment's, the nurses would provide a summary of what needs to be done next in terms of feeding etc. I would highly recommend this hospital if you are planning to have a baby.
Emerge experience was great. But once I was admitted into 2B medicine, it was horrible. They forgot to give me scheduled medication, they took 30-45 minutes to get me pain medication. And when your pain is a 10/10 you don't want to wait that long for pain medication. Very rarely did they come and check up on me to see how I was doing. I was placed in the hallway and not in a room. I get it, your busy and full, but I've seen rooms empty and they were given to different patients. I highly suggest if you are going to be admitted into credit valley hospital, you get transfered to a different hospital or keep demanding the nurses and doctors if you are in pain or need any other medication. Overall this was the worst hospital experience I've ever had and I've been in the hospital many times for many different things but at different hospitals. I'm never coming back here ever again, even if its the closest hospital to me.
Worst hospital in GTA. I'm afraid to go myself or to send a loved one ever even in emergency to this hospital because its staff is rude, arrogant, and there is a lot of miscommunication and or disinformation on purpose to mislead the patients and their families. Have had the worst experience with administration, staff concerning not one but two loved ones at the same time! They purposefully neglect the senior citizens and leave them to die on their own because staff is never held accountable and they know there are absolutely no consequences no matter how immensely they neglect a patient. Shame on hospital management as justice is not served and no one is held accountable because it's a public hospital backed by government! What a shame and embarrassment for Ontario!
Obviously by reading the other reviews the maternity ward is the one that raises Credit Valley's "star" status. This January my mother (85 years old) was admitted with a suspected broken artificial hip or collapsed femur. Ambulance attendants were excellent and heavily sedated her for transport because they could not even touch her without her almost passing out. When I arrived at the hospital everything seemed pretty good so I left them as I suspected the wait to be quite long and she appeared to be comfortable. As it turned out, pain medication wore off at approximately 7:30pm. My Mother spent just under 5 hours, in her words "making an ass out of myself" crying/pleading for help on a bed at the side of the hallway. My Father (88 years old) says it was like a dream (nightmare), when he asked for help everyone just ignored him like he was invisible. When someone did acknowledge him he was told that they would just have have to wait without any pain medication. Just after midnight a doctor arrived, ordered meds, sedated her and after reviewing the x-rays, ended up just having to relocate her hip. Good guy, knew what he was doing. We are very thankful nothing was broken again. After this, they were just left on there own to leave...no wheelchair, no clean gown, no offer to help in any way. father asked about a wheelchair and was told he would have to find his own. Father has very severe tremors and had to find a phone and attempted for 5 minutes to dial for a taxi. Finally had to find a nurse to dial. Taxi arrives, father is left trying to help her out of the wheelchair and into the car by himself. Mom had to wear her hospital gown home in the taxi because she was continually throwing up. I feel that the length of time she had to wait in excruciating pain was excessive. I am very glad either of them did not have a heart attack during this event. The only people in this entire evening that showed any type of empathy were the ambulance staff. Obviously I think things could have been handled much better within the emergency department itself but I do not only blame the workers that were present. This hospital has had poor ratings since its opening so obviously the upper management is the beginning of the problem. Without accountability they have no desire to change their ways. I think we have a tremendous health care system and would not want to change many things but there has to be more than just patronage jobs at the top of these types of organizations for them to reflect the amount of money it takes to operate and the salaries the administrators receive. Hospitals require true managers with experience and documented successes which should be assessed annually. The top positions should not be considered "a guaranteed job for life".
I had always shied away from Credit Valley, preferring Trillium Mississauga Hospital and Q Site. As a caregiver and now patient I know the other two hospitals very well. Now that I must have treatment at Credit Valley I have been pleasantly surprised that the staff are kind, efficient, and very caring I've been several times at different times of day and staff were polite, well informed, kind, knowledgeable and above all caring. This hospital is now my first choice.
Born in this hospital and learned that it was so not clean when I hey arrived
Our daughter was born here recently and there are bo words to describe how amazing the nursing staff were. From delivery to the newborn ward it was outstanding. They came in and took the time to sit down with my wife and go over every concern she could come up with. The were encouraging and helped her every step of the way. One of them even found us the day after and came by just to say hi to our little one. It took a whole team since we were in there 3 days but 9/10 nurses and doctors went way above and beyond for us
I had to go to the ER because of an allergic reaction. I was seen by the nursing staff and ER physician. They were most concerned about Covid and told me not to remove my mask. Of course I complied. Here is my concern: NOT one of the ER staff looked at my tongue. As a nurse I know that an allergic reaction can elicit a swollen tongue thus obstructing the airway. It is not enough to perform an Oxygen saturation of listen to the lungs. Not impressed with a lack of thorough examination.
Two years a cute nurse flirted with me when she saw a cyst growing on my leg
I am grateful to Dr. Frank Papanikolaou for saving my father’s life by performing a successful laparoscopic partial nephrectomy surgery. The medical personnel at the hospital ensured an outstanding recovery. My father and our whole family are thankful to Dr. Frank Papanikolaou, the assisting surgeons Dr. Kevin Leung and Dr. Andrew Feifer, the anesthesiologist, the nurses, and all other personnel of Credit Valley Hospital we met along the way for their talent and kindness. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being so organized and professional.
We were just at your emergency since 7pm Nov3rd 2021. We are a family of 4 that includes My wife, 2 sons and myself. Our names are Babu Chowdhury, Rabeya Azmiry, Muhammad Chowdhury and Ibrahim Chowdhury. We were in a serious car accident. When we finally finished registration, triage and got to the room at around 12am. My children became thirsty and asked for some water. We paged a few times and asked for water. Finally after 30 minutes someone without a name tag approached us and said that we cannot have water for another 4-5 hours because they don’t know if it was ok for us to have any water. At that point I got up and said my children were thirsty and need some water. I said politely that we have water in our car and I would like to take them out for water regardless of what the doctor might recommend in 5 hours. When I reached near the waiting area. An unknown lady approached me and yelled at me in front of everyone and my children. I was surprised by this and insisted that my children simply need a little water. My wife explained that we weren’t told by anyone that we can’t eat or drink and for that reason we must give water to our children. The unknown lady yelled at me and started humiliating me and my children in front of everyone. At that point I told her that she needs to check her behaviour with patients and that I will give water to my children because it’s CANADA and she is violating my rights. She threatened to not let me back in the hospital and said that we would have to go through the whole process again. At that point a doctor came and said it was ok for my children to get water. My wife and I felt extremely uncomfortable to continue our treatment because of biases that could occur after the incident. We felt humiliated and thus we left with our injuries to go to another hospital instead. We have never experienced such a horrific treatment in our lives where people actually talk to someone else in that manner. My children were scared. Keep in mind they just had a near death car accident. All this Over some water. We left at around 12.45am and reached home by 1.05am. Everyone saw and heard what happened. I want to have this incident investigated and documented for legal purposes. I want to file an official complaint against that unknown woman. She needs to face disciplinary legal actions. You have cameras everywhere and I want to request a subpoena for the witnesses and the camera footages of this incident. Your google reviews are a testimonial to these sorts of treatment of patients and enough is enough.
Rude reception at the Fracture clinic Waiting time with appointment can exceed 2 hrs!! Whether you walk in or with appointment, they will waste your half day, so take day off and be prepared
I am very grateful to Dr. Greg Ramprasad and Nurse Noah. Thank you for taking such good care of me in the emergency department. I haven't met any doctor as passionate, caring and friendly as Dr. Greg. You were amazing. I was provided with an update on my reports or the next step (tests) every hour which was very comforting. Since Saturday last week, I had to go to emergency department at credit valley three times and the first two times I was there for over 9 hours and I saw the doctor only once. But Dr. Greg and his team made sure that all patients were well taken care of. I saw him running around and answering questions patients had. So thank you to Dr. Greg's team who were working on Friday May 25th, 2018 at credit valley hospital's emergency department and for taking such good care of your patients. All 5 stars are just for your team ????????
Honestly I would give negative stars if I could. I came to this hospital earlier this week and had the most terrible experience. I woke up with severe stomach pain, so severe that I could barely walk or stand. To put things in perspective, I imagine the pain was similar to the pain of an ulcer or cyst. Good thing I have a high pain tolerance, otherwise I would have been screaming out in pain. I was driven to the emergency department where I informed the faculty about the severity of my symptoms. At this point I patiently waited to be sent into the actual waiting room to see the doctor. Now, I understand that emergency rooms tend to be slow, as I have plenty of personal experience with slow hospital emergency rooms and walk in clinics. I also acknowledge that with the coronavirus going around, there are extra precautions being taken to ensure the safety of all hospital staff and patients. I would still like to know why I sat in that hospital waiting room for countless hours after expressing the urgent pain I was in, with absolutely no attention. At one point I was physically hunched over in the uncomfortable waiting room chair sobbing in pain, rocking back and forth, trying not to cause an unpleasant scene. Every time the nurse came out to call upon a new patient, I made eye contact with each of these nurses several times as a cry for help because I physically could not stand or speak. These nurses made direct eye contact with me, saw that I was in unbearable pain, and continued to turn a blind eye and ignore me and walk away. I was beyond frustrated and I will never be returning to this hospital. One nurse was KIND ENOUGH to approach me after what seemed like an eternity of being hunched over in pain. She offered me "minor" pain killers and attempted to reassure me that I would be called upon next... so why were at least 3 other people still called before me? I knew the pain was so severe that a simple Tylenol would not ease the pain whatsoever. When I FINALLY got called upon and attended to by a doctor, they did blood tests, gave me strong pain killers, and did an ultrasound, and I was sent right back to the waiting room. Once again, pain killers did not work and I was back to being hunched over and crying in pain. Eventually another nurse approached me who was very kind and empathetic to me, which I had not experienced all day from any other professional working there. I explained to her that I could no longer stand to sit up and all I wanted to do was go home and be in bed as it had been at least 8 hours at this point, still no answer as to what was wrong with me, and that the painkillers had failed to work and my experience that day was just overall so unpleasant. She apologized and attempted to get the process moving along faster. She told me it would be another at least 45 minutes before the results from my ultrasound would be available after already waiting over an hour and so I immediately broke down due to pain and frustration. Long story short, I went home finally 8 hours later after being told they could not conclude anything from the tests, which obviously is nobody's fault, and received a prescription for "gas build up" I went to this hospital for assistance and had the most terrible experience of my life and I will never return. From how much pain I was in and the lack of attention, I concluded that going there in the first place was the biggest waste of time when I could have been in bed resting and overall just much more comfortable. Terrible experience and will never return. Worst emergency room experience I've ever had and I didn't think any experience could be worse than my previous ones.
We took our baby for an emergency and they just kept us waiting for hours. Service is horrible
The staff is always wonderful and work hard, long hours. It is a blessing to have such a facility in our community. Keep-up the good work, we are all very thankful.
Been getting Rad and Chemo treatment myself here, and it's been a wonderful experience. It's helped with my own outlook being treated by such consummate professionals.
I was at Emerge October 20, 2018. The team at emerge and the team over at sectio E were amazing. The Doctor on duty was extremely empathetic she ensured my wound was thoroughly cleaned prior to doing my stitching and even redid a stitch after reviewing her own work. The efficiency that was in place was astounding. Keep up the good work.
Drive thru covid testing, done by appointment--it was extremely quick (I was there in the morning for maybe a total of 10 min, which included the wait time and the actual test) and safe. I was nervous about the test but the nurse was really nice and gentle.
This place stinks, literally. I visited my grandmother here, and I was disgusted by the stench of diarrhea in multiple parts of the hospital. This hospital has frequent c. difficile infections, so obviously their infection control is not up to standard. Finding your way around is tough because the orientation of the maps is different in different parts of the hospital (I have never seen this before in any building). Patients with dementia aren't supervised properly and are allowed to wander and potentially hurt themselves. P.S. To whoever keeps posting obviously fake 5-star reviews - I see you. You're not fooling anyone. You should be ashamed of yourselves for trying to deceive people, instead of actually doing your job!
I went recently to emergency, and it took about 4 hours for everything cat scan doctor see me twice. But again, it could be done more efficient ,half the nurses in emergency area just sit, and talk, a fellow came by for directions, and there was language barrier,so he was unsure, and kept asking for directions repeatedly, it seemed like they were getting fed up of asking they changed there tone of voice like they got irritated, after they were gossiping, and making fun of him. Another issue, I had is my dad was in the hospital for parkinson's plus ,he got pneumonia ,and was semi unconscious at the hospital. The doctor trying to persuade us to kill him because of his state, he tried to use gentle tone of voice kept saying "...guys should do what's best for him he may never come out of this state" like bro,,it's the first or second day chill out give it sometime for the medicine to work. On the second day, my dad moved his eyes, and was active ,eventually ,he was discharged, and sent home. That same doctor never came back to that room after my dad was full conscious, I never saw him again. Another doctor was in charge she was much better, and patient. Hosptial is good in ways intially my dad went to many hosptials and they couldn't find what was wrong with him many tests etc nothing credit valley diagnosed him with parkinson's plus after seeing neurologist. End of the day, hire more doctors-especially at night. And, cut back on nurses there's way too many of them, and not enough doctors.
Atrocious. Starve patients while waiting for surgery - 24, 48, 72 hours? When will you operate? When the patient is on their death bed? Our health care system is not a model for the rest of the world. If I were a tort attorney - Trillium would be my main target for a class action.
The staff in RAZ lie to your face on how they just checked on your result when you go to ask how much longer to wait funny how they dont ask your name so not sure what they checking or they say they going to check on your results and never come back they do temperature check on you every 3 hours just to have touch point so make u feel like they doing something or to see your not at your bioling point yet so u can keep waiting, at the end the day if something that could take one hour can be dragged to 5-8 hours they profit from the outrageous parking fees they got going by keeping you around waiting. Your not a patient your a walking Dollor sign!! This is what our hospitals have come to.
I can't speak highly enough about my experience at this hospital. All the staff are just so friendly and accommodating they are to be commended
Our failing health system. Took my daughter in an Ambulance at 10pm Thursday and it's 4.22am and still waiting to see a doctor. Daughter never wants to come to hospital at night! Just don't get sick at night!
This hospital is horrible. The first time I went with my wife Waited for 3hours to meet a doctor, after Waiting another hour and a half to meet the second doctor. This place is a complete joke! The second time because I was late 10 minutes, the eco reception lady canceled my wife appointment and make another one after 3 week , and I inform her my wife is in bad situations, but she ignored me . And she is very rough , all the staff very tough and rough . I don’t like to continue with this hospital because they didn’t care if you live or die . If the is zero star I will evaluate them zero
Very lucky that the ER doctors found a med reaction that was causing renal failure. Amazing support and help by all the staff.I donated to Trillium health partners after my recovery.
I am volunteer cancer client driver mississuga.oarking lot is almost full all the time.
Compare to hospital in Oakville and Milton it's better. But health-care in Canada overall is worst than 3rd.world countries. Waiting time... Number of doctor ... Quality of doctor .... just few of them.
Nurses are very kind and cooperative.. thank them all for the care of mothers n kids ..
There are much better hospitals and this is the worst one I have seen in Southern Ontario. Fortunately I'm only slighter further away from a different one and can choose it over Credit Valley in most cases. I don't know if the merger with Trillium is why they've gotten so bad, but they aren't what they used to be and you should avoid them if at all possible.
Avoid at all costs. Negligent doctors and nurses. Pain meds never given on time. Doctors administered wrong intravenous medication. Serious lack of communication between Doctors/nurses and patient. Doctors and nurses made several mistakes and did not study patient history. When their mistakes were pointed out they became hostile. Have been advised by family Doctor to avoid this place and go to Oakville.
Its a wonderful experience. Very good and humble doctors, midwife and other staff. They all have supported and guided us throught the process of my first delivery.Definately recommend this place.
I have been to many hospitals and this is by far the best one. I've never seen such wonderful, easy to talk to staff. I had no fear asking questions, and they tried to tell me how long I'd be waiting between tests. They were always attentive, and when the doctor sat with me I didn't feel rushed. I will always come to this hospital.
I've done clinical at the Cardiology department and I can say that the staff are incredibly kind and that they genuinely care for their patients' well being. Also, if you're a nursing student, I highly recommend getting this as your placement because the experience is phenomenal.
The security guards working in ER area are so unprofessional and untrained. They laugh at people with serious mental disorders and problems. It's really sad how this hospital just hires anyone. One of the guards I know personally (outside the hospital) and he's a very rude and immature person. And I know it's a problem because trillium's security guards are much better.
I was just diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes (2 years ago) and so had to go to the hospital and diabetes clinic. I hated this place. There was never any parking, the parking lot is a complete disaster, it was so difficult to book appointments and I had to reschedule one appointment and was not able to for 6 months so the clinic removed me as a patient! I had to get a second referral (from an ER doctor, during this pandemic!) for an endocrinologist and my medications! Thankfully, the ER doctor gave me insulin prescriptions! I will not go back!
Worse place to go to! The Nurses are extremely rude and unhelpful.. they don't even do a full check up in the ER.
Good friendly medical staff and doctors
What is wrong with the medical attention at this hospital?? (Credit Valley Hospital) My grandmother, 89 years old was just discharged from this hospital without a mask and all soiled ( pee and poop), she wears a diaper and has a stoma which was not properly changed or closed either, basically they didn't care for how she was discharged but more so for getting rid of her.. not to mention she was discharged with no signature from the doctor/ nurse on the forms nor did she have instructions on these forms sent on how to take the medication prescribed. She is an elderly lady with dementia, apparently this is how the elderly are treated at this hospital, this is unacceptable and something should be done immediately. This should not be happening at all. I really hope someone looks into this situation and does something about it. We have already sent an email since the patient relations office does not answer the phone..
Some departments in the hospital ar ed good except section 1A surgery. I had bad experience of behaviour and rudness of nurses about 10 years ago when I had humorroid operation and I promised my self never to get into that section again but lately my wife had surgery and moved from ICU which is heaven into 1A to the point she cried over the phone and begged the doctor to send her home to escape the terror of night shift in 1A surgery whatever you do try to avoid it at all cost
-Over 9 hours in the emerg. -Dirty gloves and face masks left on the floor. -Seems like this place is more likely to aid in the spread of disease than prevent it.
We have been attending the diabetic centre at Erin Mills hospital for years and find the staff very helpful.
Gave birth here the doctors are great!!! I had a billing issue but they responded and it sorted it out.
I really disappointed with the DR. PHIL ZHANG (pediatrician). I have a 7 months old baby who is suffering from diarrhea. Yesterday i went to hospital with my child . I wait for the doctor almost 3-4 hours and the most disgusting thing is when doctor came he said if baby has diarrhea more than 5 days then come back to hospital. Baby is dehydrated and baby has severe rashes he did not prescribed anything. He left the room within 30-40 seconds.we were waiting for so long time and he left within seconds. He did not listen to me properly. Doctors are like god and they are life saving but here they are just playing with the lives. If they are doing this with the small child , then god knows how they treat with other patient. Its a request please take it seriously because its in your hands to save someones life or not.
Worst experience should have delt with the pain and waited for health center in etobicoke and went there after 3 blood pressure tests and 4 hours we finally got seen by a doctor and got told to follow up with my family doctor it seems the doctors and nurses dont enjoy there jobs not friendly and way too long of a wait for absolutely nothing waste of 5 hours
I must say Credit Valley Hospital is worst Hospital.
I was a voluntary patient at their psychiatric unit. The facility abides by provincial and federal law, and discharged me when I requested so. They do not perform warrantless searches or seizures as other facilities tend to do so. The quality of mental health care here is significantly better from Trillium's Mississauga Hospital counterpart. Their awareness humanizes psychiatric patients and is helpful.
Besides some miscommunication in ER, I love Dr. Shahbaz at the RAZ emergency. She is caring, considerate, takes her time to listen and assesses all your symptoms. Very happy with her and would want to have her every time I get admitted. On a similar note; ER is quite organized and quicker than most locations...
Probably the worse hospital that I ever had to go. 6 hours waiting to see a doctor and had to discharge myself and go to another. Over 2 hours to have a ultrasound done. Is this an ER?
Went to ER for a wrist injury. Waited 6 hours never saw an actual doctor only a nurse practitioner who said my x-rays were fine no issues. Find out 10 days later my wrist is fractured after seeing my family doctor. Will avoid this hospital in the future.
Had our baby here and my wife was pleasantly happy with how well taken care off she was. The only discouragement is it all depends on your luck which nurse has what shift! Some are very nice and some are too rough and come across as rude!
What an amazing ER experience, if there is such a thing. New, modern well-organized and the best nurses bar none. Special shout out to nurses Ross, Linda and Prem. Super busy but never missed a beat, kept smiling and very patient. You can tell they like where they work. All of the orderlies and housekeeping staff also great. Well done, Credit Valley!!
I was in this hospital in emergency department. Wery nice staff and polite attitude. I was happy with their service.
My experience is waiting in Emergency area for 3 hours and waiting for Doctor for 3 hours. I called a nurse because i did ask how long i must wait for Doctor. A nurse explained that there was Doctor called in sick, another Doctor just start work shift, 5 patient ahead of me. My wife is not allowed to accompany me and wait for me outside parking lot for too long hours. I am speechless.
Amazing hospital loved this place . they were so quick . and proper covid protocols followed out here.
I was in an accident few weeks ago in Mississauga and was transfered to CVH ER. I would like to thank the doctors and nurses who provided care for me. Also, an appreciation to a Nurse named Luna I think? She was assigned to provide care for me and she has a strong, professional and caring heart. Thank you everyone for allowing me to recover quickly and be discharged. My experience in the past with older staff was not the best but keep hiring more qualified staff with less ego or attitude.
The service and delays for simple tests are outrageous. I could have driven to Muskoka and back and been out earlier!
This is not a Hua hospital like a zoo. All the staff mercilessly. They treat patients as a commodity. And prolapse for long hours. I'm serious should go to the zoo. There is a convenient place for them. They are monsters.
Great treatment and staff. On a very busy emergency day I was triage very quickly and admitted as patient soon after. Spent two weeks in hospital. Incredible nurses and staff. All very caring and professional. Even the food was ok. We should be very grateful for our health care system in Canada.
worst, worst, worst experience. was in terrible shape with the flu, and they let me drive home saying I will be fine and to take nasal spray. well i ended up passing out and complaining to their customer service who later investigated and admitted that they should have not let me drive because it was too risky!
Worst emergency in Ontario I came with my daughter and she broke her hand . I checked in there at 1 pm but they are not taken my kid inside the emergency after 4 pm we were waiting. Frustrating experience.
Probably one of the most useless hospitals that my wife and I have unfortunately visited. Dr. Noah Jesse Farber believes that having chickenpox as an adult does not require any form of treatment or medical care, simply dismissing the seriousness of the complications that may occur. Strongly do not recommend visiting this location. Covid 19 is the only thing they are concerned about and will dismiss any serious issues.
I had both my kids there and I have nothing but great to say. The hospital staff, nurses and doctors they were all great. Anyone who came to see me and the baby were impressed by the quality of care I was actually receiving and the cleanliness of hospital one even mentioned it looks more like a hotel than a hospital. We actually live in North York area but after trying all the closer hospitals we don't waste our time anymore anytime we have ER need or as my pregnancy case any other medical needs for that matter we just do the drive to Credit Valley even when with the drive the wait time is whole lot shorter than all the other hospitals and the quality of care way better. The people who are nagging about the wait time probably have never been to any other GTA hospitals. and really if they are keeping you that long then your case is probably is not as urgent as you thought it was.
Poor service offered by this hospital. Rude staff. Lack of doctors. Not even worth for 1 star.. Never go again!
If I could give 0 stars I would. Medical malpractice. There's a reason the rating is so low Do NOT take your loved ones here.
I am a patient going through radiation at this hospital, room 2 to note. I am so happy to let readers know that the workers who prepares you for the Radiation Treatment is so gentle and kind. My treatment will finish on Wednesday and I will so miss the attention from them. Life is a journey, in our path we get help, courage Nd strength from the people we meet along the journey, making the journey less painful. God bless u guys.
I thought i would share my experience at the hospital a couple weeks ago during a pandemic. I was told to come to the emergency department because it showed I might be having a miscarriage. This was my first pregnancy and my husband wasnt even allowed in. I was basically going through this alone. My anxiety was through the roof!! I was crying the whole time being in the hospital. Praise God.... i had Caroline as my nurse and Dr. Hu as my doctor. They were compassionate...understanding...comforting. They made me feel safe. My nurse checked up on me often and made sure that if i needed her to just be there, that i could call her to come to the room. And my dr answered any question I had and never judged me that i was a nervous wreck. So grateful i had a safe and comforting experience.
Above average hospital. The ER was very good here and some decent specialists. Wish parking were cheaper.
My mom was in ER, and she needed to go to the washroom. She couldn't get out of bed, so she requested a bucket for their portable washroom thing. The nurse said "It's not my job to get you a bucket" and walked away, she kept asking other nurses, and they all ignored her, she eventually couldn't hold it anymore and ended up going on the floor. I did a formal complaint, but nobody did anything
The worst hospital I have ever been to. An older lady sitting beside me had her cast made too tight and was made to wait six hours at which point they only cut one side of the cast and made her wait another hour before they took off the rest of the cast and she is still waiting with just a simple bandage on her arm. Nurses are very rude and the one doctor I saw was pleasant.
2nd visit in the same week at the pediatrics emergency room and what a difference a good/bad customer service can impact. What a lack of caring with my little one from the nurse team in charge. Indervir was the nurse and he provided a terrible customer service. Treated us as if we should not even be here. Super lazy going around and didn't even try to say my daughter's name. And the emergency was not full at all, so no excuse as if the team was super busy.
I wish I had read all the reviews before going to credit valley hospital. But it's an emergency you don't really think too much you only need relief right away. I went there early this morning with a stabbing right eye pain with hyper light sensitivity. I was shaking of the pain I had. I was met by a cold nurse who told me to open my eyes quickly otherwise she can't help me. I begged her to reduce the luminosity of the room as it will help me out with the pain a little. She refused and walked out. I was left in the room with my friend who reduced the light intensity for me in the room. The doctor came and gave me an ultimatum and said that if I don't open my eyes she will not do anything for me without even hearing me out. I cried, disgusted of the way I was being treated. When she finally came back after taking her sweet time and me suffering and waiting powerless, I told her crying and with the firm intention to just walk away if she wouldn't listen, that I needed her to help me with the pain and listen to me express how It feels l and why I couldn't open my eyes. Only then, She put an eye drop called tetracaine hydrochloride in my eyes and instantly I felt the relief and was able to open my eyes for further exams. Had she had listened to me as it wasn't the first time for me having that kind of pain she would have helped me sooner saving me from suffering more. A horrible experience, a horrible feeling. Please At least pretend that you care. writing this review is just the first step as I intend to bring this up. It shouldn't be that way. I would rather pay for medical care that really means something than having free medical care that means nothing at all. Doing nothing when these situations happens means allowing this to be considered normal and it is not. The most precious thing we have is our health, anything affecting it should be a priority.
This has to be the worst Emergency Room in any hospital. I came it at 3:55 and it's now 7:10pm. Other people who have come after me has already been admitted to go see a a doctor. This hospital is disorganized and has no sense of urgency. I regret coming to this hospital as I'm still waiting to be seen.
Nice hospital with all the facilities. Their service has improved significantly and I would say that staff try their best to prioritize as per patient's need and provide care. With the amount of patient inflow, and the service they provide I commend them. I took my mother at this hospital and received good care.
Rude registration guy. Horrible wait times for something minor. Only 1 doctor is working in Emergency . Try not go get sick thats all I can say.
I went here today. I’m impressed about the their triage team. Very good in prioritizing and accommodating to my needs in order to do their assessment. They placed me on acute unit unit in ER r/t possible airway obstruction or sepsis. The MRP is also good and precise when he checked on me. He answers my questions well I like my nurse Meagan, she’s very cool and relax and doesn’t seem to go under pressure since I know It can get hectic in Emerge. She checks on me from time to time. I had a good experience today Thank you to the team.
Absolutely thrilled with the care and communication by my mother in laws oncology and palliative care teams. We have been on this journey for over 18 months starting at another hospital then moving to Credit Valley. In the last three or so …
Don't know what to say. My dad was diagnosed with esophageal cancer here, and he chose to be looked after at this hospital unfortunately instead of going anywhere else. Throughout his cancer treatment I felt the team of doctors took quite a long time to come up with a treatment plan for him, and do followups throughout his treatment. Once he had his surgery, they hardly checked up on him on how he is doing and what steps he can take next to ensure his wellbeing. After the surgery was the most crucial time since he was trying to heal at this point, but the doctors took their sweet time to do tests on him. Within 5 months after the surgery my dad had a relapse. And the surgeon looking after him, refused to do any tests despite my dad constantly complaining that he is not feeling well, and he is unable to eat or drink anything. The doctor kept saying this is normal. After a whole month of telling my dad hes normal, he did a CT scan again, and found out that my dad had a relapse. And then he said he cant do anything and just pushed us over to the chemo doctor, who also said he cant do anything. Within a week the doctors just moved my dad to the hands of symptoms management group, and did not do anything about actually treating him! My dad spent his last month just at home, being looked after by the symptoms management team, and he has now passed away. The hospital might be good for pregnancy and what not, but I would definately not recommend someone to go here for cancer treatment!! Please do your research people, and please take your loved ones to a place where you know they will get the best treatment possible!!!
If you are ready for wait for endless time lying on hospital bed without any treatment then you should come here. Better go to any nearby walk-in clinic.
Terrible hospital. Don't come here.
Hello and greetings to the citizens of Earth as well as the great people of the Trillium Health Partners Network! Now granted it is not always easy to come up with the right decisions for medical science whether it be mental or physical ASAP. There are many things done wrong in our society but bad credit Valley Hospital many of those things are done right or are open for improvement. You can be sure when you get to Credit Valley or any of the Trillium health network sites that they will take his best care of you as you can get as long as you cooperate. The more you fight the more they will fight you so when you get to a hospital or in the arms of an officer remember that these people are doing their best to make your life easier and sometimes it's just as hard for them to be waiting as it is for you.. People say that complaining doesn't get far but it really does when you complain to the right people in the right fashion because a million voices can be just as strong as one if they're all saying the same thing. Credit Valley Hospital is one of the better hospitals despite the ups and downs no hospital is perfect but it's better than being in the third world country where we have no Health Care. Every tax-paying citizen owns a part of the hospital so realized it's your hospital too and you want it to run as efficiently as possible so stop giving your doctors nurses and professionals headaches. We are here to take care of each other not only to turn our head and cough when were commended to!!!
I am currently sitting in the diagnostic imaging department awaiting an MRI. Let me begin by saying that I got called in yesterday for an MRI due to a cancellation. I was told my MRI would be at midnight however was told to be here at 2330. I then got a call at 330pm to confirm my 2400 MRI, again was told to be here at 2330. I showed up at 2325 tot he DI department where I was registered by very unprofessional and unsympathetic person? Nurse?tech? She proceeded to tell that they were 3 hours behind, while that is understandable I asked her why they hadn't called me to let me.know, instead I drove for 30min from north Brampton. She then proceeded to tell me that I could reschedule or come back later. So I asked her about coming back at 0230 so 3 hrs later. She then told me to be here for 130 cause I needed to be here 1hr prior...???.... Otherwise they wouldn't do my scan. I work in the medical field, I am a nurse and would never be so unsympathetic, no apology was offered, nor a proper response. There was another gentleman in the waiting area also upset because now he has to wait until 5am for his MRI due to the 3hr lateness, and the same person at the reception told him that if he went to his car, cause I assume he wanted to try and sleep, security would t let him back in, that is such nonsense. I expect the Manager of this unit to speak to the staff about proper "bedside manners" and handling of their tardiness appropriately.
I was in the ER last night with excessive bleeding from the chest and passing large blood clots from surgery on May 3. I was told by my surgeon's office to go to the emergency room, even though I received IV antibiotics and oral antibiotics and had a full assessment on Thursday from another hospital for the same issue. I told the nursing staff I had a copy of the treatment plan from the previous hospital and the blood work results, which they said they didn't need but would tell the doctor. Long story short, 4 hours in the hospital with repeat blood work to get results I already had (which they didn't look at). When I did see the doctor I was told "it might be a blood clot, at least the blood coming out is old. You can stay overnight or go home whatever" then she walked out didn't come back and I'm supposed to wait for them to call me for an ultrasound appointment today. I'm Still bleeding and passing clots, thanks for nothing!
Went in with severe chest pain around 8PM. EKG was a mess. It's now 2AM and I haven't gotten to see a doctor yet.
"Stephen Delaurentis" it looks like you work for this hospital and posted a fake review. You stated how dare anyone criticize the hospital because the hospital is free. What a disgusting thing to say. I know you're fake because there is NO ONE with the name Stephen Delaurentis. How dare you post a fake review telling patients to "shut-up, its free". How dare you?
Stop complaining.....it's free!!!!!!.....maybe when you leave the hospital they should give you bill with amount owing $0 but show you how much you would've had to pay ...may then you will realize a 4, 6, 8 or even 10 hour wait is not so bad. Chronic complainers
Too long of a wait for an “Emergency Room.” Waited 12 hours just to be discharged with antibiotics. Lazy Staff. While doing a blood test used wrong bottle so she had to repoke.. used the same arm and spot.. Nurses telling patients to get off wheel chairs due to space. ?!? No actual doctor available. Only practitioner nurse. Ridiculous.
They suck. The Psychiatric ward is a joke. Nobody cares to work and provide any sort of treatment and they didn't even care to run tests to determine a diagnosis. This while my Mother had a 6 week stay at their facility and then simply let her go without any follow-ups or community support. The nurses in the ward rarely make their rounds and sit at the station like a bunch of nesting hens. Go elsewhere; they'll get any patient out the door just for the sake of it. I would give 0 stars if I could.
The psychiatrist diagnosed me with mental illness because I said I hear God speaking to me when I pray to Him. He locked me up for 3 months because I would not give up my religious beliefs. My grandma had health problems so we sent her there from the old folks home she was living at. While at the old folks they have a special machine that allows her to poop and give her adequate oxygen through the oxygen breathe device. She gets adequate pain killers cause they give her morphine every so often so she is not in pain. AT credit valley - she reduced her oxygen by 50% and my grandma stopped thinking clearly cause her brain was functioning well. They reduced her morphine dosage by taking care of her once every 15 - 26 hours and she was howling and screaming in pain the entire time which she never does the ten years I visited her at the old folks home. And they serve her disgusting and cheap food for breakfast lunch and dinner. She did not have a bowel movement for 3-4 days cause who the hell serves macaroni and cheese or pasta with heavy cheeses to a generic multi-cultural hospital where you have people from all races and backgrounds? Not enough fibre in her diet and they stopped giving her water injections for no reason whatsoever. Also while suffering in unbearable agony we are told we can't remove her from the hospital until they are sure she doesn't have any infections. My grandma is a strong woman - she gave birth to 5 kids before epidurals were invented but she complained that her pain was like hell cause she was not getting enough morphine.
The volunteer who looked after my mom in ER (her name is Teresa) was amazing.
The CT Dept Lack respect and have a really bad attitude. If you don't like what you do. Find something that makes you happy. WOW!! Never have i witnessed someone so miserable, Especially the people on the phones when calling in for an appointment.
The emergency is a joke !!!!!!!! Never again ! It looks like they have a time for everything except treating the patients!!!!
Last place on planet earth to visit. It took me 7 hours in ER, yes....no joke. Will not be coming again.
Went in for chest pain, waited 13 hours in the E.R had a small procedure done. Which was done wrong by the doctor so then i had to undergo surgery which put me out of commission for 3 weeks
Loved the hospital and the staff…labour and delivery wing is the best. Nurses are very caring and OB gyn the best.
Easy going. Don't come to the hospital if you want to run marathons. I see so many patients like myself that just wants to get out. goes both ways Respect goes both ways. I had to learn to be patient because things move slowly but they do move.
So many patients in the hospital but not if enough time doctors working at the emergency department and the nurses talk rests when ever they want and however long they want. All I hear them talk about is timbits and donut and Cheetos. Most lazy nurses I have seen in my life terrible service for patients
3 hours and counting to get an xray. An xray i was told to come back and get(visited sunday with chest/lung problems) if my lung didnt heal itself?
Terrible experience, it took approximately SEVEN HOURS for the doctor to reach me in an EMERGENCY was wondering what would have happened in regular situation. Worse services ever seen even worse than third world countries. Are we living in so called first world country especially in medical field. Definitely needs care to be taken very seriously.
Dr. nasirzadah always make me wait over 45 mins after my appointment, today I went in 10 minutes after my appointment and the brown chubby receptionist was giving me attitude as soon as she knew i was 10 minutes late. she then said sorry we cant help you and doctor wont see you today. I now will withdraw all my files from nasirzadahs office and I will never step a foot inside that trashy service. I am very disappointed how the receptionist still holds her job.
Excellent loving and caring service from all doctors and Nurses, specially post surgery service provided by Nurses was amazing.
If think Credit Valley is bad you are wrong! Brampton civic hospital is the worst hospital for mental health care system in Ontario. My daughter schizophrenia autism episode in the mental ward was screaming and on Mae nurse threatened to such her face if didn't stop. Last Spring the nurse were teasing her when she had an episode. Brampton civic hospital had a death in the mental health ward two years ago while they had a potluck dinner. Young man hung himself. Brampton civic hospital is dirty all the time. She needed a prescription fr her schizophrenia and we waited in total two days in the emergency room. WHEN SHE WAS BROUGHT TO CREDIT VALLEY HOSPITAL THE WAITING FOR A CRISIS WORKER TOOK LESS TIME to be seen the Brampton civic hospital.
"I have been an employee at Trillium Health Partners for 11 years and was recently threatened with termination regardless of Doug Ford's comment that vaccination is not mandatory. As a Hospitality Associate I willingly worked every day of this "pandemic" to serve the public and support my fellow coworkers. As of December 21st I will no longer have a job to support myself and my family. I am disgusted in the management and HR department for not standing for what is RIGHT. These people have lost all my respect."
One of the worst hospitals in Canada. From the incompetent nurses to doctors I definitely would not recommend.
I had a wonderful experience delivering at Credit Valley Hospital. All of the staff in labour and delivery and the mother-baby unit are wonderful and really listen and treat you well. The staff truly care about you and your baby. We ended up having to stay for 5 days due to health issues with my baby and throughout that stay all of the staff were great and listened to all of your concerns.
Horrible been here since 2am waiting on results its now 5 after and counting if you can avoid coming to the hospital do it.
Beyond bad... third world countries have better services than this sad excuse of a hospital. Just another reason why we need two tier healthcare... I will happily pay for services. This is far too broken to be repaired.
Bad experience with nurses they first didn't checked seat belt for my new born before releasing and when we left one of the nurse names asha in mother and baby unit asked us to walk back to check the seat belt all the way back the hall way very unprofessional for her own mistake. This is when my wife had c section and was under medication.
Just wanted to commend the great service and empathy by Nurse Gayathri (Dr. Jennifer Enright-Oncology) who is our go-to Nurse in the Oncology Section. Gayathri always has time for us and explains everything in detail related to my wife Yolande's chemotherapy and blood tests. She is a great source of inspiration. Kudos also to the staff related to Oncology. Thank you. Errol & Yolande Byrde.
I am utterly disgusted by the absolute disregard the maternity department has for families who come here to give birth. We came in today and had to wait over 3 hours to see the doctor after the water broke. The nurses were not warm nor very attentive to the needs of the mother to be--who was a first time mom and the father to be who only wanted to be informed to what was happening to his wife. Nursing is not a voluntary position, it's your job and you get paid to do so and with the utmost respect. More than one nurse and hospital staff was rude. Ceceel especially! Not impressed! Perhaps a portion of $576, 929 that the chief of staff makes could be used for sensitivity training. I understand that the job has its ups and downs and don't doubt that others have had positive experiences but this has left a bitter impression that will not just be left with the new mom but all family members who were in attendance. I truly hope that this review sheds light on something worth looking into and will result in significant changes in how the hospital staff treat its patrons.
Took my 73 yr old mother to the ER today morning with a infected cyst on her back. They took her in but did not allow me in saying that there is a nurse in the hospital who will help translate from English for my mom. My mom went in and they told me they would call me once my mom was done. 3 hours later I got a call from a security guard at the hospital because he found my discharged mom loitering around in the hospital in search of me. I reached the hospital in 10 minutes and picked my mom up. Then I realized from her that there was no so called interpreter nurse all throughout to translate for her to her own language. The doctor performed a minor surgery on her but left her bleeding till she got up and managed to get the attention of a nearby nurse who then bandaged her and discharged her without even calling me. There were no discharge instructions and she understood very little of what the doctor had said. So, after picking up my mom, I went back in to the ER to get discharge instructions. Covid or no Covid, I hope the hospital authorities read this post and determine what is it that they could have done better here.
My grandson went to ER yesterday with high fever they did no bloodwork on him took Xray when his mom insisted than told her he is fine and sent her home. Today he is again in hospital and been told he have pneumonia and need to be hospitalized. These people dont care very unprofessional. Doctor have no idea what he is doing there probably just looking busy doing nothing.i am going to make sure to file complaint against him and emergency staff.
The maternity department is amazing! definately a 5 star but the emergency department is the worst especially if you are taking your kids
The emergency unit is understaffed to the point that going to the pharmacy for Tylenol to lower your child's fever is more efficient than waiting on a nurse to bring Tylenol for 4 hours and even when requested by the ER doctor. Triage will check temperature once at check-in and you need to remind them because they're busy. Bring a thermometer with you to the hospital. If you have a sick infant or toddler, please do not go to this hospital. You might end up exposing your little one to covid-19 or more serious viruses. Monitor symptoms, get a covid test at a test center and see a pediatrician. Please go to a different hospital, they don't even read these reviews. The nurses are exhausted and stressed. Please hire more staff.
It was great everybody rating it 1 star is probably one of the idiots that don’t know the rules or didn’t bring the proper paperwork. Not be hospitals fault your a dumbass lol. Had a beautiful baby girl yesterday and she was healthy as can be with everything going great. The nurses and doctors couldn’t have been better.
My sis had to take her 2 kids, both with fever to go see a doctor. But the (very rude and lack of compassion) lady said they couldn't see the doctor because "they didn't have chest pain". We're not sure what to make of this but if a child …
One of Mississauga's hospitals, excellent and caring staff.
Terrible experience. Won't let you visit your family that is dying. No compassion for elderly who can't speak English. Vicky Sharma Vermani is a terrible manager who instructs staff to call security and police officers on family members who are trying to visit their families in their dying moments. Nurses are miserable and hate their jobs. They take out their frustrations on patients. No ethical guidelines are followed. Staff think because they work for hospital they're God. They need to understand they're employed by tax payer money. This place needs to investigated
Zero to none efficiency, minimal communication amongst various departments, long wait, high parking costs ... was in for an excessive internal bleeding and was sent home by a nurse practitioner (no typo here) after 7 hours, only had to return in 36 hours. This time, I stayed in ER for > 36 hours, got three blood transfusion and ready to go home on the fifth day as soon as a quick CT scan is done. On the first scheduled day(6th day in the hospital), I was supposed to fast 12-hr and no one informed me. When I asked, being admitted in the hospital, can we do it in the evening, I was told the CT scan closed after 5:00 PM (oh ... is that why we have such a long waiting list?) The CT scan was done on the second scheduled date(7th day) and still waiting for an report from the CT department so that doctor can make a decision to send me home or not!
Took my son in Saturday at noon on a long weekend for a badly sprained ankle. We were in and out in an hour and 40 minutes. I was expecting a lot worse. Thanks
Had to take my mom to emerg in the middle of the night. The wait was really long.. about 4 hrs.. but once we got to see the doctor and the nurse they did a great job taking care of her. I know it’s a struggle for everyone right now because of covid. We all just need to show a bit more patience with others that’s all. Thank you for the great care.
From yesterday afternoon until second day and mom on wheel chair was staying and she has breast cancer In hard and critical situation
This hospital is not good. I DO NOT recomend for anyone who want to giviing birth here. Some of the nurses r terrible and rude. My wife got C section here and after the surgery she got hurt really bad. One nurse yell at my wife because my wife couldnt do what she want. That nurse should know after C section the mom health is bad. Its hard for them to move fast. Another nurse holding my son without holding his neck. It could break the baby neck, it s basic, they r nurse they should learn this. Another thing i order regular room but they put me in semi room and they charge me 500 dollars in total. I have to pay what i dont want. Service is terrible, they let the opened formula milk out side for so long, when i ask for new one, they were so rude at me. If you dont like your job, just quit plz. But anyway, i havt to say thanks to doctor corbey and few of nice nurses here.....
The most disgusting hospital I have ever been to. Stay away...
Last year my mother experienced limbs paralyzed, now she looks like a normal person. So today I want to share something with the paralyzed person. 1.when the physiotherapist and occupational therapist can not give you any help,do not give up. Some therapist ,I remembered the one therapist's name is Mary, gave my mother hope and told her the muscles would find the way to the brain and recovery was coming. The therapist said full range movement, but the patient and patient's family had to find the solutions of how to do full range movement by themselves. And at least half of the therapist did nothing, just waste the patient's time.My mother spent 8 weeks in day hospital during the November,December of 2018,but actually just wasted time and made her very tired. 2.The nurses were the worst part. At that moment,my family tried best to find the best solution to get recovery. The nurse from community center came to my house without notice,on that day,my mother just discharged from hospital and already spent 2 hours with 2 therapists,at the moment my mother was very tired and weak, but the nurse spent one hour to kept asking my mother if she wanted committing suicide! The nurse of day hospital, named Laura, asked my mother if she was short of money, where the car was parking, and when Laura talked about there were so many person were paralyzed, she was very happy.Laura did not know 3 hours out of house made my mother very tired and Laura's laughing made my mother very frustrated. But Laura still continuing her paper work and asked my mother 10 questions about committing suicide. During the next day hospital visits,my mother did not want to Laura, but the therapist said my mother must to see Laura every visit, because Laura works like a doctor in day hospital. But Laura know nothing about recovery for paralyzed patient. 3.aggressive recovery My family thought about going to USA to get good recovery therapy, and later I found a neurologist in USA.This neurologist told my mother aggressive recovery was very important,so my mother spent 15-20 hours/day to doing exercise. And I searched on the website and found that the recovery time should take 2 years, not 6 months. But the first 6 months' exercise was very important for new nerve growing. 4.About donation of money. My mother could not go to work after she got paralyzed limbs, and the 2 nurses already asked my mother about the financial problems and my mother told them my relatives financially support her.Actually for the EI,the first 8 weeks should wait 6 weeks to get the money, but for the second 7 weeks my mother had to call service Canada a lot of times and went to Service Canada office 2 times. But Credit Valley Hospital kept sending letters to my mother to ask her to donate money to hospital.
Great hospital location for caring for people and making sure that people can recover from whatever they are suffering from.
Had to come to Diagnostic Assessment after shadows were found on my lungs. As i entered, i had no idea of results and was hoping for the best. Unfortunately I was met with a lower basemet area, not ujl8ke a 70's rec room, immediately depressing but to get to asseessment I had to walk throigh the radilogy and cancer section doubling that depession and confirming in my head without fct that i had cancer. For the patients being seen here the area is dark, dismal and depressing. It does nothing to improve ones psyche
I hope they provide better care
Credit Valley Hospital is a very good hospital with caring staff and well seasoned physicians. In an age of "me" and "instant" outcome expectations the health care community hospitals do their best to address patient concerns that are presented. I am a cancer patient and I can't say enough about the caring hospital employees who help beyond "the job description" to help anyway they can.
Still waiting in Emergency, going on 14 hours. No communication from the staff. No updates. #healthcarefail
Came in to labour and assessment for preterm cramps. Everyone was friendly, however received different instructions/information regarding protocols from each person (almost each one had to ask someone else). Was told my husband could visit me and stay overnight once I was admitted and had my own room, but when I was admitted and was in the other unit was told he could not visit at any time, nor stay overnight. Second, was told various different hours for visiting. One person said 8am-10pm, another told me there's no set hours. Third, I asked if I'm allowed to have food from outside, I was told yes. Once my husband arrived and was being screened into the hospital he was told he could not bring it in. The screening officer called the unit and asked, and they told him they never told me that! Also, when I asked for something, such as meds, I always had to ask more than once. Extremely disappointed with the lack of communication & protocols!
the endoscopy clinic is great. Reception, nursing, doctors, cleaning staff, and the friendly Volunteers too. All work smoothly like a well oiled machine. Your tax dollars are well used here.
I would recommend anyone to go to this hospital for emergency over the disgrace Oakville Trafalgar. Yes Its not perfect and can use improvements but its a hospital after all. People need to understand that wait times can be long because …
hire more doctors and nurses, cut spending waste and reduce wait times. i dont blame the doctors and nurses i blame the useless administrators
The worst hospital in the world. My mom waited 6 hours in the ED and no doctor came.
I was in so much pain and went to ER on the 6th of January early Morning. I waited for about 4 hours to be seen by a doctor, which I would rate 3 stars. But once the doctor came, things changed. Dr. Chang Lu and his assisting nurse (sorry...can't remember her name) were very professional, did the procedure in less than 10 minutes and I was relieved completely. They made me feel comfortable even though I was crying in pain.Actually, their professionalism made me post this review. 5 stars for them. Moreover, the Hospital follows COVID-19 protocol.Everything was fine except for the wait time.
My granddaughter is 5 years old. She fell at school and cut her chin open. They were at the hospital for for over 6 hours waiting for stitches. They put the numbing cream on and said it would be about 15 minutes to do the stitches, 2 hours later they finally came. This is unbelievable to have a young child wait that long.
It depends on which department you're in. I'm pregnant and have been at the hospital since 3pm yesterday and it's now 1pm today. No food and only water with ice has been offered to me in the ER. The ER nurses are great based on where you are. Ward A has the best but the quality of nurses goes down as you move through the alphabet. When I'm in pain no one is around. I understand they're busy but it's frustrating I feel helpless. You won't be released until you see a Dr and I've been waiting 4 hours and counting for one. It's sad I hate this pandemic and I hate the toll it's taken on hospitals.
Last evening we were in a car accident. we wish to thank each and every staff member nurses, physicians in the Acute and the TACC departments. Dr, Melanie in TACC was incredible
All praise to Allah !"A BIG THANKS" to Credit Valley Hospital for their efforts to save my father's life, who was in life and death situation and being on ventilator for 22 days.Special Thanks to ICU department, Nurse Brendon and his collaboration with his then doctor........ Dr. Varun I believe..., had brought my father back to life. Can't Thank enough to them????. Dr Kumar's team and all the ICU staff including all specialists who was there with him ..who took critical decisions for him , The unit 1C nurses and doctors..Dr. Barboza , the intern doctors especially Dr. Yousaf, all had done their best! After ICU my dad (Mohammad Baig) had spent big chunk of his recovery time at Unit 1D(The rehabilitation ward) ...they all were fabulous! Trust me guys each and everyone of them are trying their best to save patients life. Our Family will always be in gratitude for your services.
I had an incredible experience delivering my baby at Credit Valley! Every single nurse and doctor that I interacted with was so kind & reassuring to me as a first time mom. I was induced & that whole process was a little frustrating (having to go back and forth, waiting all day & night for their call) but I’m not sure who is in charge of that. I assume higher-ups. The hospital was clean, quiet, and again, the nurses were incredibly kind & patient with me. If I ever decide to have another baby, I’d definitely go back there!
12 hour wait in the emergency room. You are better off crawling into a corner and dying. Save yourself the parking fees
I went to do my biopsy, the doctor and nurses were the best one they were kind humble I selute them and thank them what they did . My only complaint is about the male receptionist I went there on time first he didn’t let me sit where all the women were waiting for the biopsy or mammogram he said wait outside the room and then said we are running late so you have to wait and people those came after me were going before me he put me at the last i waited one hour and 15 minutes and the biopsy took another hour by the time I was done and reached my car another half hour and don’t forget that i have to pay the parking, just because he didn’t like my appearance he judged me of my hijab and didn’t act as a professional receptionist
Nothing but excellent service! My 3 month old was admitted for a couple days. The nurses & Dr.'s were very friendly, informative and sympathetic. Thank you to all the nurses in pediatric oncology.. especially Susan.
Worst experience ever in a hospital. Waited over 5 hours in fracture clinic just to see a doctor for your appointment. This is ridiculous. In covid times there are 30 people waiting since there is no doctor available to see them .very poorly managed
Senior person’s knee replacement surgery was performed at 10am. He was kept in recovery room all day as they are not able to find him a room. Family waited outside and no one was able to tell them his whereabouts. Information desk told us that they are volunteers and can’t do anything about it. Administration need to look at with seriousness and take necessary actions. No one should be treated like this in any organization. Sad state of affairs.
I was waiting 7 hours before the Dr. Sana Mashhadi CPSO#111826 in 5 minutes said to me that my intestinal pain and bleeding are not important. So, I back to home with nothing. I am so sorry but the people's health is not a priority for the hospital :(.
My 86yr old mother was sent from her retirement home to emergency at 1pm today. At 4:45pm, I contacted the emergency department to find out her status and was transferred SEVEN times to different “areas” of the emergency dept where my mother supposedly was. I’ve been to the emergency department several times - it’s not that large! I spent a total of 69 minutes on hold at the various “departments” only to be hung up on at what they stated was the correct nursing station. I am a healthcare professional myself and am disgusted every time I take my elderly (86 and 90yrs old) parents to this hospital. Rude and ignorant emergency registration staff and nursing staff at the front desks make this an absolutely miserable experience. I don’t know how to nicely explain that YOU work for US - Ontarians pay your salaries! We don’t want to hear you laughing and carrying on in the hallways and complaining about your jobs when our loved ones are in pain. What is wrong with you and why did you go into medicine if this is your attitude! To the Chief of Staff of the Emergency Department, please, please, please fire staff that are systematically rude to patients and their families and educate others on customer service. You badly require courses in customer service from the US in order to understand the plight of patients and family members and other courses in showing respect to people. The problem lies in the fact that unionized staff can practically kill people without being fired. This has got to stop. To the rude young receptionist in the diagnostic imaging department of the hospital, you may remember me bringing my 90 year old father in for a chest X-ray last week - you are beyond rude and ignorant to the needs of patients. Telling me to “get off my phone” when I was simply checking my texts while you typed away doing whatever you were doing was absolutely astounding. You work for me, and I work for two companies AND still take care of my parents. Shame on you!
I was in the emergency department for mental health. The nurses and security guards constantly talked extremely badly about the patients. One nurse actually said, that the patients mom was "crazy" and he can see where the son gets it from. They made fun of me for sitting on the floor and laughed while asking if I was "praying". I'm guessing this assumption was made because I have brown skin. I won't bother reporting it because ALL the staff were making comments like this so how can I report them all? Regardless, it was incredibly hurtful and I feel traumatized. I'm in so much pain from this experience as i am a vulnerable person and I'm diagnosed with severe mental illness
All i can do was cry the doctor there did nothing walked in saw my history of having tonsilitis for 6 weeks and said go to your family doctor after making me wait 6 hours. She didnt even want to test me for covid or any virus indicators. Makes me not want to pay my taxes no one in the hospital wanted to work. Trust me i would pay 10 000 dollars up front to fix this. Might have to make my way down south.
My nose doesn't hurt painful while I went there to covid test in parking area. But it's very good
Went to the emergency department tonight after having knee pain and was limping. As the pain persists I decided to go to hospital as I have a history of arthritis. When I spoke to one of the nurses she questioned me on whether I thought the pain was serious enough to be in the emergency. I told her about my history and she told me I should go to my family doctor instead. However, I was limping terribly and thought it would be best that I get it checked out as soon as possible as I am on my feet a lot. When I was passed onto another department, another nurse questioned me again making it seem that my pain wasn’t a serious manner. Just terrible
The employes are very nice, knowledgeable, attentive, always giving you the best treatment possible.
everything under routine. not too much care service. midnight waiting hours is ok.
I was recently admitted to Credit Valley hospital after suffering a fall and fracturing my hip. While waiting to see a doctor the nurses were all attentive and caring. The surgery was performed by Dr Jerome Levesque-explained what was going to be done, he's very personable at my surgery appointment and also a few weeks later at my post op appointment. I was in hospital for 1 week and honestly all the nurses and physio therapists were on point. I know that most times nurses/doctors are quite busy and cannot be there within minutes of anyone buzzing them so some patience is definitely needed. All in all they were all very attentive, caring and personable.I almost can't wait to see them again,,,uhhh not really lol.
Poor staff. My infant waited for 8 hours in emergency and yet no diagnosis and no doctor came to see my infact. The nurses are pathetic and disrespectful in the child care B center. I don't know how long its gona take for the doctor to come. Avoid this hospital ! This hospital is to make patients sick and not to cure them!
perfect , i visited twice - its very near to my home , everything is so process driven , customer service , Nursing staff and doctors are very cooperative . They gives all kind of details and instruction for get well . The only thing i didnt like is we are not able to access our medical history/report online , may be in future they will also plan s'thing like that.
Parking is pathetic. They always over charge the credit card and then have to go through dispute department to get it fixed.
The hospital is great but I had my Hernia repaired recently and the doctor did a terrible job
We have had long waits, but at the end we leave the hospital satisfied, we'll take care of and supported. 11 yrs old resident.
Not that there’s many options for hospitals but be prepared to wait long. 12 hours just to get an ultrasound, that’s what you get with free health care.
If you want to wait 8 hours in the waiting room just to see a doctor then this is the place to go
what a horrible place, avoid emergency if you can. Terrible attitude of staff, I had a 7 hour wait with an 89 year old mom, they have poor internal communication. Go to mississauga hospital if possible, their triage will cut your wait in half.
Doctor M. Samagh is awesome, detail explanation and showed she does really care for her patients.
Worst hospital of all time. Treated my wife and 11month old baby like complete garbage for no reason. Burn it down.
After waiting for hours and seeing people who arrived after I did get seen before me I asked if my name was called, the triage nurse rudely replied no while not even asking or caring what my name was. A while later she comes by and asks if I’m someone else.
A big thumbs up to the Radiation/Oncology crew at this hospital. Appreciated the help and support throughout my treatments. Thank you all again for the excellent care I received.
The best emergency care I have ever received from a hospital. They were very organized and efficient today. Dr Leung on duty was very caring
Only one doctor at the emergency. We were at emergency from 9 30pm to 1 pm of the following day . Approximately 15 hours to diagnose a minor problem. Filthy and overcrowded waiting area. Nurse was yelling on a patient just because this person was in pain and was making sounds. She yelled exactly like that:" not only because you're yelling that means that you will be seen earlier by the doctor"! Could anyone in pain be treated in such disrespectful manners?? I was shocked!
Just had an MRI for first time and everyone in the Diagnostic Imaging department were really nice, helpful and answered all my questions. It was easier than I thought.
I brought my wife to Creditview Hospital on Feb 26, 2020 with a headache and numbness and tingling in her left arm. We got here at approximately 3 o'clock and then it was 5 hours before seeing a Doctor and then after 3 more hours it was determined that she was to be admitted. She was to have tests done that would not happen until the MondayIt is now after 5 on Feb 27th and after spending 18 hours on a recliner in the emergency department my wife has chosen to not remain forgotten on a recliner in a corner. There has been no nurse to see her for 4 hours or so and she was told she needed meds for high cholesterol which she never received. She will be better off at home and receive the treatment as a outpatient.
HORRIBLE WAIT TIMES.. Nurses are rude and treat patients like animals.. I had to wait 9 hours just to see the doctor in the ER ...Do not recommend this hospital at all. Sad to see where my tax dollars are going and how I'm along with others are being treated when ill.
Covid treatment: I was hospitalized with low oxygen and rapid growth of blood clots in my body and a very young, knowledgeable, handsome and dedicated Dr. Josh Levitz with his team Kristhine and Anna brought me back to life. I was scared and skeptical to go to the hospital but choosing credit valley was life saving decision. Please don't wait too long to make your case complicated, people are dying because they are taking too long to go to the hospital. There is covid treatment available by covid specialists like Dr Josh Levitz at credit valley hospital. Love my heroes Dr Josh, nurse Kristhine and nurse Anna. Thank you for saving my LIFE????????
My wife delivered our baby at Credit Valley and we are so happy that thus was the hospital where it took place. The staff from nurses to doctors are equally enthusiastic and helpful. The hospital is kept clean and appears to be maintained often. I recommend Credit Valley.
November 20th 2020 my husband die from a heart attack not sure exact time around noontime his name Raymond i wanted so bad to tell the Doctor can't remember his name thanks for his support very good he call me to hold my husband hand while he passed i am so happy he i was there over all thanks for your kindness and support keep up the good work also the nurses God bless you all Good 1husband his hand hand
good doctors and good nurses. thank you
Worst hospital in Canada. Not to be trusted. With only one visit per week, they have supreme domain over the patient and you’ll have no idea what happens to them or their mental health. Everything is despicable at Credit Valley starting from their CEO to their irreverent receptionists. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT HEALTH AND WELL BEING.
They looked after my dad like he was their own. Stellar service in all departments...A total night and day difference when compared to that other Mississauga hospital. Thank you for making my dad's stay comfortable, pleasant and painfree!
Oncology been great to my mom, everyone is very helpful
This hospital is horrible. Waited 4 hours at the emergency to see a doctor. Waited another hour and a half to see the doctor. This place is a complete joke! The doctors COME IN AND SEE FOR ABOUT FIVE MINUTES AND THEN SEND YOU HOME! Gosh please stay away here!!!!!!
The doctors and nurses really go all the way to make sure your health is good and that your taken care off. Its a really big facility, but it has signs and map that do help out. I wish parking was a bit cheaper.
I brought my 24 year old daughter to emergency on Friday night, 21st of August, 2020. The nurse that dealt with her was extremely rude and was talking over her. She was placed in a waiting area waiting for her turn. She was in extreme pain. And had trouble breathing. Another nurse passed by, and my daughter said: " excuse me. I am having trouble breathing, I need help" the nurse replied rudely, you are obviously breathing amd walked a way. What is wrong with the nurses in this place???
Avoid this hospital at all costs! Terribly understaffed with no proper service.
I came here at 31 weeks pregnant with some serious complications. I was immediately cared for by the nurses and doctors in the maternity ward. Under the amount of stress and fear I was under they made sure I felt safe, heard and that they were doing what they felt was the best for me and my baby. The team of nurses and doctors who looked after me for the time that I was in the hospital were just beyond amazing and that’s something I will never forget. The NICU nurses and doctors are just as amazing and care about mommy and baby. They have been supporting my partner and I through the entire process. Thank you for your services and for keeping me and my baby healthy. I have been to many hospitals, but this was the first time I left a hospital feeling like I got the care that I needed.
Negative...Negative.... Bad service and no care. My son went there after treated for severe Tommy pain at the clinc without improvement. The Doctor recommended us to go to the hospital bcs it might be Appindex. We waited couple of hours and decided to go for emergency when we have no other options. Although my son was suffering from strong pain and vometing and no results of medication the nurse did not let the doctor check him and we have to wait more than 3 hrs till they started to take a real action. I do not know what is the worest case needed for the emergency staff to start taking a real action? Is the hospital policy to treat the patients this way to let them thinking thousands of time before going there?!! What we have to do if we really need immediately care and this is is the nearest place available?!!!!!
A patient (kid) attached to IV has been asking to go to washroom for past 1/2 hr. He asked nurses many times they say “OK” and do nothing about it. When his mother got upset the nurses complaining/gossiping/chatting about it. Credit valley hospital #carecentreD that’s care Centre D.
just like any other hospital, sometimes you're in luck and you get great staff and sometimes you leave feeling worse than you did when you went there.
Excellent service from Doctor and nurse....I feel like home at the time of delivery and care from them
Came to the hospital at 6pm on February 8 2021 with my 16 yearold daughter because we think she has broken 2 fingers she has a high tolerance for pain . We sat in triage for 2 hrs. People came and went but we stayed there. I asked what's going on and they said she will be taken when its her turn. I said we've been here for 2hrs others have came and gone not her time. 830pm they call and move us to another waiting room Care Center E. We waited in this area for 30 mins only to be but in another room. Once in this room we waited for 3/4HR to see the doctor then had to go for xrays which took about 20 mins. Then back to the room to see the doctor again where we wait for about 1/2hr, at this point we've been here for about 5 1/2HRS. THIS IS A JOKE? WHY DID WE HAVE TO WAIT 3 1/2 HRS to see a doctor I understand covid-19 and protocol but come on. On the other hand once we got inside the nurses and doctor was really good and fast. The problem i have is the wait in Triage over 2 1/2 HRS thats a little bit to much time. Only because someone messed up and would not admit it.
Trying to get in touch with emergency department, you get put on hold 5min just to reach the switchboard then after being on hold for emergency 38mins they disconnected me -there should be at least a clerk to answe the phone. They seem very understaffed.
Very polite staff; I'm not sure how people find the staff here rude
Chronic Back Pain I am looking for assistance who can help me carry out suicide as there is no solution to this chronic muscle pain. I am ready to pay for this help. I can e-transfer the money but provide me with something that will help me to sleep for ever. No pain killer is being provided. There had been discussion between the patient ad the nurse that who is going to die first, the patient or the nurse which is very disturbing apart from the pain i am going through and this i not the quality of care being provided.
Staff need to realize it's tax dollars paying for their salaries. They aren't doing us a favor by giving us or our loved ones treatment. The attitude of the staff is just sad - they call it understaffed but it's more like complacently inefficient. Mind you, just like all other things, there are some good staff, just not nearly enough.
I came here to get an injection for 4 hours they transported me from the waiting room to the waiting room ... 10 people I met here 1 was kind. Disaster !!! I should get the injection every 8 hours between the first and the second dose 9 hours apart between second and third 6 hours ????????????
Okay so this review is strictly for labour and delivery, I can’t speak for any other unit.. but L&D was fantastic! I had a pretty traumatic labour and delivery but the doctors and nurses there never failed to keep me calm and make me feel safe.. I’m normally an extremely anxious person so this says a lot about the staff if I didn’t once have a panic attack in their care. Baby kept going into distress because he was wrapped in his cord, as soon as Dr. Myckan was the new doctor on call things moved a lot faster.. all the doctors are awesome but she was my favourite because of how sweet she was when everything was happening.. we had to do an emergency c section and she told me exactly what she was doing as she was doing it and kept reassuring me that everything was going to be okay, she made sure to calm me down when my baby’s heart rate went back up and she made sure nurses were keeping my husband updated until they were able to bring him into the operating room! I have to respect a doctor who is literally cutting me open yet still peaking over the curtain every few seconds to make sure I’m doing okay! AND she even came to check on me the next morning too! Great doctor! I’m mainly leaving this review because I don’t understand why there are so many horrible reviews about these doctors when my experience with them was just fine! Stop scaring other women who are going to have their babies at credit valley because I was terrified for this reason and they ended up being amazing :)
This place doesn't not even deserves zero. This hospital is one of the worst and the license shout be suspended. The hospital staff is horrible, ignorance and they don't care if you die or live. They only care about the paycheck, nothing more.
At least two of the nurses that I interacted with in the emergency department were unproffessional and dismissive. Totally ruined an otherwise okay experience. Got the treatment we were looking for, but waiting times were really long.
Absolutely worst hospital experience I could ever have ! Sitting outside crying still wondering I’d I had a stroke 3 hours later ! The staff was more than rude , no empathy for any of the patients there , including small children vomiting for hours! Nurses were extremely rude if the moms even inquired on timing etc . In the middle of a pandemic no social distancing enforced at all! Well except for the staff that’s protected. They did not separate people with COVID symptoms from those with injuries etc in the emerg like they did at the beginning of Covid. If you are seeking good care in less than 9-10 hours go somewhere else . Extremely disappointed in our healthcare system and humanity to say the least .
the Emerg Dept responce is a joke. My son was in to Emerg in major distess from post-Covid complications and on one visit it took 4 hrs to see a doctor. the next visit was 6 am and the place was empty, it still took 5 hrs to see a doctor. This response timeline is disgusting
Always a terrible long wait.... make you come in 15 minutes early for the scheduled appt just to have you wait around 3 hours
It's a good hospital. I really do love the nurses and dr.s they are great! But the emergency department....... mean, no emotions i can only assume it's because of '19'
Worst experience ever, people there(with couple exceptions) are heartless machines, no compassion what so ever. They treated our son like bag of potatoes and kept saying that hi is little and he will forget. It is heart breaking watching them performing procedures without care and patience. Every time you question them they get angry and label you difficult. If you need help please go somewhere else and i hope you get better care.
I am very happy and impressed with the Credit Valley Hospital health services. My specialist has been very accommodating, patient and kind. In all my appointments with him, he has given me his full attention and is very professional. I find that the secretaries are also very friendly and welcoming. I was pleasantly surprised with the efficiency in my recent COVID testing at Trillium Health Partners at the Credit Valley Hospital. We had a nurse whom made my husband and I feel very comfortable and valued. Credit Valley Hospital always exceeds my expectation in terms of the Health Services provided by the Staff members. All Staff members including the parking attendant are so helpful and friendly. I truly feel like the Staff members at Credit Valley Hospital put their patients first.
5 stars to the floor staff, negative 5 to the administrators and the politicians who let them get away with what they do. This place has won architectural awards, beautiful wide open atrium with unique and unusual curved wood spans and mosaic floors, palm trees inside, worthy of a 5 star resort, yet once you get passed the grand entrance you quickly realize the rest of it is more fitting of a third world health care system. The emergency room is always packed with people, not nearly enough staff, it's rarely less than 6 hours wait, usually much more. Usually one Doctor running in every direction, trying to prioritize wo can suffer the most. Everything always looks like it's in a state of disrepair. I brought my 84 year old father with some serious health issues and they just keep moving him from place to place, one of which was literally a storage room in the basement. If you need some sort of treatment or testing you might be waiting months, I wonder how many die before they get to them. How do they justify thousands of empty over the top square feet of highly decorated NOTHING, while they stuff suffering patients in storage lockers?! I wonder how many CT machines or MRI machines, they could have bought in place of the architectural beams. I wonder how many beds they could have fit in to the atrium. We Canadians brag about our "free" health care system, I wonder how many know it costs the average Canadian $6k a year in taxes (or more depending on your tax bracket). I have a family of 3, that's a minimum of $18k a year, while we believe that our health care is SO superior to our neighbors to the South, I truly believe my $18k a year would be much better spent on health care insurance in the US of A. Something's gotta give, we can't keep letting these criminal get away with such injustice...
Great patient care!! Doctors , nurses and all the caregivers are professional, polite and compassionate. I was here for my unfortunate miscarriage and received the best care. Hopefully one fine day I will go again for my happy delivery .. If you are looking for the best OBGYN and the best labor care then this is your hospital ....
