My husband has Dr.Paley and Staff treating him for a rifle accident wound. Dr.Paley is tough when she needs to be and compassionate when you need her to be. She is readily available if concerns arise. It has been four long months of recovery and I am convinced that my husband would not have had this much positive progress if he had opted for another office for treatment. Our family is so thankful for Dr. Paley and her staff!
About Dr Deana Paley. Made me return every month for 6 “consultation” appointments, but never once showed me any sketches nor plans of what she was supposedly “working on” for me. She never gave me a surgery date and would obfuscate every time I asked. First she said in January. Then February. Was she overbooked or just disorganized? I don’t know. She never gave a clear date. Sometimes when I pushed her with the same question 2-3 times, she would google photos on her phone and show me what she was “thinking of doing.” The photos were never her own work on patients. They were never even photos of people who had reconstructive surgeries! They were just topless torsos of healthy young fitness models from google search! NOT even my body’s size, age, or shape! She didn’t listen. I’m the person who must live with the results so it was important to me to get what is appropriate on my body. I repeatedly had to retell her that her googled photos were NOT the surgery I was there to get. I had to keep reminding her what chest shape I did not want. I asked 5 times to see examples of her work but she was vague and never produced any evidence of her own work. She gave me a stock photo brochure with two illustrations of very general information on what could possibly be expected. After six pointless 10-minute visits that wasted my entire winter, I found a surgeon in Syracuse to do my chest reconstruction. First meeting he took measurements. And he took photos of my existing chest. He showed me dozens of before and after results of torsos from his real patients who were my size, shape and same surgical procedure. He showed me sketches of his plans a week after my first visit. His sketches were overlays on the photos of my torso. Then he asked me which sketches I preferred for scar placement and shape. He listened. He tweaked the sketches. He asked questions. His nurse make detailed notes. He gave me a written copy of the plan we had collaboratively designed together. Five days later his office scheduled my surgery. I was surprised how simple it all was with a professional who cares. That’s how easy it should be for every survivor and every patient— every time. Nobody should waste your time. Nobody should milk your insurance for pointless consultations with no plan. A consultation is ONE visit that lasts 30 minutes. It should include notes. You should leave with a plan, knowing exactly what’s going to happen. Nobody should ignore your requests for details. Nobody should dismiss your questions. Nobody should rush you out after 10 minutes but bill you for half hour appointments. No surgeon should treat you the way Dr Paley treated me.
I see that all the reviews are by female patients, although I noticed my wife posted a review on my behalf, since she's been an integral part of my recovery process as well. I was admitted to Samaritan Medical Center last November for 3 weeks after sustaining a severe wound to my left foot that resulted from a rifle malfunction. After the initial trauma surgery was performed, I was informed that I'd need a skin graft and that Dr. Paley would be performing the surgery. I was told by a few of my nurses that Dr. Paley was an excellent surgeon and had patients come to her from all over the state. They also told me that Dr. Paley didn't mince words and that she would give it to me straight. No sugar coating with this lady. The nurses also advised me to listen and follow her instructions to the last detail. Well, being a rather hard headed male and not particularly liking the fact that Dr. Paley recommended I stay another week after she performed the skin graft to make sure it took, I asked why I couldn't go home to recover. She told me that it was my foot and I could do whatever I wanted, but that the chances of a successful skin graft were dramatically higher if I spent another week in the hospital following the surgery. I followed her advice then, and I'm still following it on my long road to recovery. Dr. Paley and her nurse, Kiley, have gone far above what I've experienced with other medical practices. They have both taken calls on weekends, evenings, and holidays whenever my wife or I have had any concerns or issues. The entire office reminds me of a well oiled machine. They work together as one cohesive unit, and it shows. Dr. Paley and her staff are an example of what it takes to make a great team. I'd give them a 10 star rating on the review if I could. Samaritan should be proud of Dr. Paley and her staff.
The good Everything. The staff are professional and understanding of whatever situation you are in that warrants needing surgery. The parking is plentiful. Doctor Paley is a sweetheart who puts the care of her patients above all else, including her own health and rest. She is a skilled surgeon and she is very competent in explaining what's going to happen and what you can and can't expect. She expects you to follow instructions and she holds you to a high level of responsibility. Assuming you are the kind of person who isn't offensive and trying to tell her how to do her job, you will know on the first visit that you are lucky indeed to have found such a learned and astute physician. The bad It's not doctor Paley's fault, but sometimes their phones act up and don't let calls through. It's Samaritan's phone system. The skinny She performed one surgery on me and will be performing any other cosmetic/reconstructive surgeries I will have in the future.
Dr. Paley was amazing so friendly staff was awesome and my surgery went great .I would recommend her to anyone for breast enlargement
Doctor Paley is phenomenal, she is professional and very caring.
Dr. Paley is a phenomenal doctor with skillful hands and the expertise you want in a doctor. She is extremely friendly, diligent, and thorough from the very beginning to the end. Her office staff and nurses are amazing! I highly recommend Dr. Paley!!!!
Dr. Paley gave me an absolute miracle. She's, hands down, the best surgeon in the state of New York, and I have known a few. Especially one that was 'renown' for his work who took my case and destroyed the better part of a decade for me. Dr. Paley told me that my case would be a difficult one to fix but had faith that she could handle it. With her profound ability and excellence and the most patient, caring and thorough staff (shout out to Kiley (an amazing nurse) I have a new lease on life and I never had the hope of ever feeling normal again. We are truly blessed to have such a capable and talented plastic surgeon in the Watertown, NY area.
I am pretty shocked by the other review left on Dr. Paley. I had quite the opposite experience. Dr. Paley did a tummy tuck with muscle repair on me 06/25/2019 at Samaritan Medical Center. The office space is clean and welcoming. The staff are probably the kindest staff I have ever encountered in a medical setting. I love going to appointments because I am treated so well by all. I love my new body and feel so confident now.
