Transparent pricing, informative & clear consultations, painless procedures & fantastic results! All I got for Christmas was my two front teeth. I knew I needed veneers, but I procrastinated for...decades. All of my teeth yellowed and I just hoped it would fix itself or that nobody would notice...but honestly it was getting a lot worse in my middle age. What was I afraid of? Literally, I thought I would look like the eponymous Bucky Larson or Matt Dillon in 'Something About Mary.' Turns out my fears were totally unfounded. The Smile aesthetics team was so awesome; friendly, caring, knowledgeable & skilled. I whitened like a mad man for a month and then we set the colour and ordered some killer porcelain veneers. They look totally natural. They're gorgeous, not massive ...and they're only noticeable in a good way. The only downside is having to redo all my online profile pictures...but that's a small price to pay for this long overdue restoration of my mouth's mojo. Thanks, Dr. Francis and team!

In a single word: Fantastic - that sums up my experience with Dr. Mah and all the dental assistants and receptionist team at Smile Ethetics. I have been to a few dental clinics since moving to Victoria 11 years ago, and I can easily say this one has been by far the best, and most comfortable experience. I suffer from dental anxiety, in that I am very nervous before/during my appointments, yet this team was able to really put me at ease. They were accommodating without being condescending, and actually make me want to come back and get dental work done regularly instead of just during an emergency. Given that I don't get routine check ups done (see anxiety) I am very familiar with the judgmental tone of some dentists and hygienists, but I did not get that vibe from this team. I honestly cannot say enough good things about Dr. Mah and her team - they are amazing. Go see them.

I can’t say enough positive things about Smile Esthetics! All of the staff, from the lovely people running the front, to the hygenists, assistants and doctors are wonderful. Dr. Francis did a couple of root canals and replaced an awfully ugly temp cap on my front tooth, with an absolutely one that looks amazing! I haven’t been able to stop smiling. It was virtually painless and he has a very calming demeanour that makes you feel calm, even if you have dental anxiety. I’m just about to start my Invisalign process as well, and am looking forward to having a smile to actually smile about for the first time in my life!

I haven’t had many positive dental experiences in the past but the staff here were incredible. I had some severe discomfort after cracking a molar. I was able to call and get an appointment for an X-ray the same day. I was taken back by Courtney where she asked me what I was experiencing, listened, took notes and X-rayed me for the Dentist. After my X-ray, Dr. Francis came in and calmly explained my situation and gave me his recommendation to get it pulled. I was able to also get it done the same day, just a few hours later. During the procedure they were very conscious of my comfort level and insisted I interrupted if I had any discomfort. Anytime he noticed me flinching a little he would take a small pause and ask if I was okay or if I wanted more numbing and made sure I was never in any pain. After the tooth was extracted I was given specific care instructions as well as a cell number of the dentist in case I had any questions after hours. The staff here really care about your well being and want the best for you. By far the best dental experience I’ve ever had.

Absolutely incredible dental practice with kind hearted & very professional staff. All of the staff I have seen in the two visits I've had so far, have been fantastic and friendly. I had a complicated wisdom tooth removal this week and prior to visiting Smiles Esthetics, have had serious dental anxiety. They were so empathetic and kind that I felt drastically less nervous for the procedure and it went so well. I literally dosed off for a few minutes during the operation! People deserve to be taken care of properly when they see a dentist and these people go above and beyond for their clients. The google review ratings speak for themselves. Shane, Chris and the crew at Smile Esthetics literally unlocked a new tool for me to use in life. 2 years ago I was asking Denture places how much it would cost to remove my top row of teeth and have dentures going forward....I was 35 at the time. My smile was awful and pretty much non existent. I wouldn't dare try to show my teeth. Not only was I concerned about how they looked, it was also affecting my ability to speak and eat certain foods. I felt incredibly insecure and out of options. I reached out to Smile Esthetics randomly explaining where I was at. They were the 1st place I spoke to whose main and seemingly only concern was helping me. I swear I was having anxiety about going to the dentist based on my previous experiences. 62 weeks later (whose counting) I am a new person. Smile Esthetics is absolutely fantastic. From the front staff, to the doctors, and everyone in between, are all some of the nicest people I have interacted with in a long time. My best experience came from the hygienist Tracy W. It had been over 10 years since I was able to get any cleaning (among everything else). I was so nervous at first, but she had me comfortable extremely quickly. Explained every step of the way perfectly, let me know when anything may hurt, gave me great advice, and encouraged me to talk about my concerns in a very comforting way which is something I have a hard time with. She was absolutely amazing! Looking forward to my next visit now.

Is there anyone who actually likes going to the dentist?! I sure don't. After not having been to the dentist for 2 years I was referred to Smile Esthetics and decided to give them a shot. Walking in, I was immediately greeted by the ladies at the reception desk. My first cleaning was a pain free and left my teeth feeling so fresh and so clean, I could probably be casted in a toothpaste commercial. I definitely won't wait another 2 years to go back! I’ve been looking for a dental office for quite a while now, and I came across this one a few weeks ago. My first appointment I was so nervous and anxious as I hadn’t been to the dentist in over a year- so nervous that I accidentally went in through the private side door! The whole team was super kind about it and we all had a laugh. I just recently had my second appointment for a few fillings, and while I was in the chair, I ended up having a panic attack due to said anxiety. Dr. Zava and her assistant Myca were so gentle and supportive the whole time and we were able to finish the appointment without incident. I went to this office for regular dental cleaning. During the procedure hygienist performed only scaling with some interruptions. Office said that due to the COVID they do not perform the polishing which is understood. During my cleaning procedure dentist Dr. Mah stepped in to look at my x-rays. Dentist informed me that I need 3 crowns and based on the previous x-rays she was not clear on my teeth condition. I guest x-rays from their own office are always clearer that from the previous one. Advise from the dentist: 3 crowns 1400$ each. One of the suggested crowns had recent root canal done in other office. At the end of the visit, I asked the office to email me the statement of what was done and how much was it charged to insurance company. Once I received a statement, I could not believe that they charged me for that visit 350.00$ !! On the statement their exam was listed as “NP Permanent Exam” which later was explained to me as a “complete exam”. According to their explanation dentist went over my entire mouth and diagnosed everything that needs to be done. The dentist spent with me around 7-10 min max. No x-rays were taken by them because they received them from previous office. I had my last complete exam done in July 2020 therefore this one was not necessary. I did not give them permission to run complete exam. Before the visit I was told that dentist will come in to inspect my teeth. After the visit they explained that this type of exam is only done once every 2-3 years. Considering the fact that I am wearing braces and unable to do any major work done until they are removed, they should not perform this what they call it “complete exam”. When my braces will be removed, I still need to see a dentist and have another full exam done prior to any major work done which I may end up paying out of my pocket because Smile Esthetics already billed my insurance company for “complete exam”. Back to the cleaning. Hygienists performed only scaling (no polishing) . They indicated 5 units on one visit. Previous offices performed scaling, polishing, and complete exam including taking x-rays. All previous visits below 300$. On my email inquiry why they charged so much I received response that their pricing is based on BC Dental Fee Guide. Upon my further query how come their pricing is way higher comparing to other offices I went to and had done more work for less their response was that some offices charge based BC Ministry Fee Guide. I am really confused here on how many guides offices base their pricing on. Furthermore, the entire interaction via email was concluded by the following suggestion from the office: “If you feel that this is not the right environment for you, we are happy to help in your transition to your new office to the best of our abilities “. I definitely not feel as it is right environment for me. Other offices do more for less. Please value your customers as much as you value yourself. I have lost confidence in this dental office and will unlikely return to them.

The highlight of my visit was meeting Dr. Francis , when I expressed to him that I didn’t like the shape of some of my teeth he had the perfect solution , I was able to get an appointment THE NEXT DAY where he completely transformed my smile by doing a bit of filing and molding , he was very careful and payed attention to detail . Overall I would HIGHLY recommend this small procedure to anyone who isn’t completely satisfied with their smile , one other plus is that it doesn’t take long and it’s pretty low cost ! Wish I had done it years ago .
