Long waits, no care for patients, ended up leaving after 12 hour wait. You are better off going to an alternative hospital.

Douglas R. Thompson

Unprofessional. Milking the clock. If it's an emergency don't go, you might die before you are treated. Look at the John Hopkins Emergency Room Reviews they are 2 stars. You will wait 6 to 10hrs. I urge you not to go. Shut down John Hopkins Baltimore. Mistreated. Misdiagnosed. Mismanaged. Miss. Miss. Miss...

The Staff Did A Amazing Job Working and Providing Services ❤️ In A Pandemic On The Frontline Including Jerry Taylor .

Avoid the ER if you can. Absolute worst experience. I arrived at 12 noon, and it is now 10:30pm and I haven’t still seen a Dr. And this is after the triage nurse to me that they will bump me ahead because of my symptoms.

Lee Johnson

Emergency room is the worst. Not only do you have to wait HOURS. They waiting area is SMALL. I came for chest pains and numbness in my right arm and had to stand up because there were no seats. The receptionist was also rude to people and no empathy. I had to leave

Let me start by saying how amazing the staff is. My wife gave birth to our first child at the Zayed building. From the moment we stepped in to the building We were greeted by friendly staff members from check in all the way through birth and even our three days stay due to my wife having a c section. Staff made this experience so worth it as it is our first child. All staff members was amazing but one staff member in particular stood out her name is Sarah, she went above and beyond for us and something bought her presents was comforting we really appreciate how well she took care of us and the baby. Thank you So much!!!

Anyway here’s wonderwall

Terrible hospital outpatient and in missed a very easy diagnosis

My little brother was born with Sickle Cell Anemia. He has been seen at JHH since birth and I am more than grateful for all six times they saved his life. All the treatments have been more than appreciated. I love this hospital. This is an old picture of him in the children’s unit, he’s an adult now and is adapting to the new side and procedures. I would recommend this hospital to any and everyone.

This is the first time dealing with JHH. The doctors and nurses are so kind and AMAZING! They have helped our family tremendously during a difficult time. Thank you! You all have gone above and beyond!

I’d like to thank the staff of John Hopkins hospital, more specifically the staff of Nelson 5 and Meyers 8 for bringing me back to health. I know i was a difficult case due to the fact I was from out of state but thanks to you i was able to make it back to Florida and see my daughter and my family again. I was actually inspired by the staff and i’m thinking of perusing a career in the medical field so I can help others the way I was helped once again thank you for taking care of me.

We been here for 2 days and all the Staff members are very friendly and explaining everything to us my daughter born was 25 weeks and I'm so happy they ways the takes care of my wife and my daughter. I'm not sure way people saying bad things about these hospital. We come from VA and we happy with all the doctors and nurses.

Connie Yeh

Amazing customer service! Had an urgent issue last minute on a late Friday afternoon and Nesi who picked up my call was so helpful and professional. Dr. Maria Facadio Antero who was also friendly and professional called back immediately and resolved our issue. Thank you so much, Nesi & Dr. Antero!

T S

Horrible. My relative is currently waiting in the ER and has been there for over 8 hours. In severe pain and no one is actively trying to address the issue. This hospital is a disgrace and I can't wait to be able to do more research on who to complain to. I'm definitely not letting this go.

John's Hopkins is highly overrated in my opinion. The rheumatologist I went to suggested I take a nap as a solution to my chronic illness. It was insulting and discouraging. Then they coded the visit as inpatient instead of what it was (outpatient), so my insurance wouldn't cover it. When I called them to ask them to recode it correctly, the customer service rep told me she couldn't do it until my insurance reached out to them. I'm not sure why they need to hear from my insurance to fix a problem they created. I have limited energy right now and this was an unnecessary inconvenience. Update- The “inpatient” claim was because they charged me $300 to review my medical records the day before I came. They never told me they were going to charge me for this. I’ve been to numerous doctors and never had this happen. My insurance won’t cover it, but even told me they have never heard of it. Therefore, I’m appealing the claim. It’s not about the money at this point, but the fact that they are trying to take advantage of people.

Zero management of the Johns Hopkins’ ED waiting room. The staff have no control over waiting patients, no codes of behavior are enforced, no cleanliness standards are maintained, the wait times for treatment are outrageous, and the general void of professionalism from the RNs, techs, and admin staff are a mark on the good name of Johns Hopkins. Rap music playing in the waiting room and hallways from patients cell phones at ALL hours of the night, RNs barking orders and screaming at the masses about average 14 hour wait times, and a stench of urine so thick that if you’re not nauseous when you enter the ED- you certainly will be upon your departure. Find another ED to go to. You’re welcome.

LIjalem Uregeha

This is the worst longer wait time ever in any hospitals. We are here in ER since 9:30am and now is 6:17pm.We are still waiting . God , please send someone here . please God make it happen! We want to go home !

Thomas Scott

Every one at the emergency room area was good workers and informative, they moved me on Nelson 8 tm 845 they all was nice and helpful but the emergency room has an all-star who do the Covid-19 testing and I am so sorry I didn't get her name

Norms Executive Transportation

If I could give them no stars I would. I was suppose to have surgery there. They told me once the doctor looks at my scans they will call me to set up the surgery. They called me and I asked did the doctor see my scans and the answer was yes (this was back in April 2018). Three days prior to my surgery I get a phone call from the doctor and the surgery was called off because of what my scans show (he just looked at them July 2018). HE NEVER LOOKED AT THEM! Why would you wait 3 days prior to my surgery to call me? BILLING! They charge you $200.00 just to walk in because the doctor is renting space from the hospital! That doesn't include his bill. WAS NEVER TOLD THAT! My insurance wouldn't pay for the rent. THIS PLACE IS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY! Their customer service for billing sucks! This hospital has gone down! WILL NEVER COME BACK! The Mayo clinic! Please don't send an automatic response either, that's really said! THEY ARE A FRAUD IN THE BILLING DEPT. WARNING, PLEASE LOOK AT YOUR BILL AND YOUR EXPLANATION OF BENEFITS BEFORE PAYING THEM ANYTHING. MY INSURANCE CALLED THEM TO HAVE $900.00 CREDITED TO MY ACCOUNT BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T CHARGE ME FOR IT. I WOULD OF PAID THAT MONEY. THEY STEAL MONEY FROM YOU!

My brother is currently a patient in JH Hospital. I am waiting for a return call from his nurse as to his status. While waiting, I have been reading reviews of this hospital. Very mixed. However, it seems that the ER is the absolute worst place to go if you need emergency care according to every review of the ER. Thankfully I don't live there. I'm in another state. Hope the nurse phones me back soon.

It was very important that I provide feedback regarding my stay at Johns Hopkins. Let me start by saying my soon to be daughter in law referred me to Dr. Chowdhury with the GI dept. for my UC. On 1/8/21 I had a video visit with Dr. Chowdhury, she requested I have labs done. On Monday morning she called and asked that I go to Johns Hopkins to be admitted immediately based on my bloodwork. I arrived around 4:30pm, upon arrival they took a Covid swab and found out I also had Covid. I was in the emergency room surprisingly for a very short time, maybe an hour tops and then I was admitted to my room on the Covid floor. My treatment went from a UC treatment to a Covid treatment then once the doctors felt comfortable, they provided me with a new infusion drug similar to remicade for my UC treatment. I want to let you know that I'm so grateful to Dr. Chowdhury and told her as much, that she probably saved my life by having me come to the hospital when she did. The GI Dept. was amazing throughout my whole time I was there and I was very thankful for that. I had at least two GI doctors checking in on me daily. I know I was a topic of the GI department regarding my UC in combination with my Covid. That made me feel very confident that I was being well taken care of and truly in the best hands possible. I was so grateful to be there with brilliant minds handling my situation. I also dealt with Dr. Bodnar who was the first one to see me, he was great and communicated with Dr. Valda-Toro who was my family contact. I appreciated the communication with my family and his care. I was also treated by Dr. "M" and she was simply amazing. She took great care of me and would make her rounds each day but would also call with updates. Dr. Chowdhury was also checking in on me by phone. Regarding the nurses, I have many favorites. Let me start with Kira, she was amazing and I very much appreciated having her as a nurse. Amy was great also, she was rotating and not normally on that floor from what I understand. Lauren from Alabama, I can't say enough of wonderful things about her and Michael was so on top of his game! He was very thorough. Angie was also wonderful, she wasn't a nurse but maybe a tech! I loved all my nurses and techs, they provided me such great care and were wonderful. Even the sweet girl that came in to take my trash would always say Hi Mrs. White and we'd chit chat while she grabbed my trash. I always enjoyed seeing her and her friendly smile. I was in the hospital way too long so these nurses, doctors, technicians and even the housekeepers were like my family during the stay. I hope to do something for these nurses and techs on the Covid floor for taking care of me and I plan to call to see what I can do. Thank you again to Johns Hopkins Hospital, I truly had the best care I could possibly receive and I've been to other hospitals before and you definitely exceeded my expectations!!! Lastly, I was pretty impressed with the food at Johns Hopkins. I definitely had some favorites, the stir fry and the quesadillas were delicious, I had the tuna sandwich almost every day for lunch and it was great. I've had hospital food, on previous visits to other hospitals and was always disappointed. The food at Johns Hopkins was a pleasant surprise. Thank you again for making my stay a pleasant one when I could not have visits from my family members. It was a good experience under the circumstances. Thank you Johns Hopkins!!!

Jacelyn Young

Phenomenal care for my daughter. We're here every 3 months and the entire staff, EVERYONE, including custodial, reception, security, xray techs, nurses, Drs etc. are so helpful and informative. Everything has always been explained in detail. Our first few visits we had trouble navigating and were helped by the friendliest security guard. We drive from the Maryland/Delaware border because this hospital offers thorough, detailed, caring, informative results. Thank you ALL, for ALL that you do.

Dave Guzman

My wife was hospitalized for over two weeks at the @ Johns Hopkins Brain Rescue Unit. The doctors, nurses and entire medical support team were AMAZING! The level of care, compassion and support surpassed our expectations. The team made us feel like family and not a mere patient. Additionally, my wife didn’t have any dietary restrictions and the hospital food was surprisingly good. No one ever wants to be ill or have to deal with significant health issues. That said, if there’s a place to be during these challenging times, I highly recommend Hopkins. After further review, we found that they are ranked 4th in the world...they are living up to their expectations!

Rosita Harris

Brought my daughter in law to Hopkins Labor and Delivery and was not happy with the service. There were no wheel chairs available to bring her up to the 8th floor. I was told by security that I could go back until my son arrived, but told by the nurse that my son couldn't come back if I went back. Everyone seemed to be confused about their own policies. Employees having inappropriate conversations and using profanity in patient areas. with my daughter and switched when my son arrived. The nurses

Black Scull

Today is day 5. Haven't seen a doctor since we got here. Dried blood on patient room walls and on family room chairs. The front desk staff and security personnel at night seem to enjoy singing extremely inappropriate songs with no care who's around. 5 days sitting here with no one talking to us the food they serve has clearly sat out longer than it should when half of it is dried out.

Melissa Palmer

The most caring and compassionate staff that I have ever known, especially the doctor and nurses of the 5th Floor CCU Cardiac. I appreciate all of the time, effort and care that was given to my brother before he passed away. Myself and my family cannot Thank you enough. The Family of Lynn Galloway

It's just that. A hospital. It also doubles as a University. It's a top hospital though, I recommend it.

Timothy Mooney

I was born and raised in Maryland. Johns Hopkins played an important role in my families life. A once respected hospital has sunk to partisan and intolerant. Dr Ben Carson may be the most accomplished neurosurgeon in Maryland history and the fools at Hopkins are too petty to recognize his contributions. Tim Mooney

We had an appointment with Dr. Jonathan Jun at the Sleep Center. He was extremely thorough, evaluating all factors that could contribute to my husband's sleep disturbances. He covered sleep patterns, smoking history, substance abuse, weight gain/loss, pain levels and pulmonary problems. He's sending my husband for a CT scan and then a pulmonary assessment. I was very impressed with his knowledge base.

I’m writing this as I’m still waiting. We have been here for about 6 hours now and it seems some patients are getting priority over others. There’s no management at all, the staff is unprofessional, and seem hesitant to really help anyone out. Some patients that have been waiting since 7am were taken off the list and didn’t realize till about 10 minutes ago. It’s 20:37. I wish people actually cared for the well being of others here. Looking at other reviews, I might have to take my Dad to another hospital.

Makam Manasa

Hy, I'm Makam Manasa from India I'm from a small family with my mom and me my mom is suffering from Rehmotaid Arthritis from 10 years and I'm helpless when I found out ur hospital is in no1 list to treat RA for god sake help to treat my mom

Great hospital and great stuff i work for the other main hospital but even though i do they gave me great service and top notch medical care and even though my sister in law works for there lifeline and i work for expresscare i rather go here then the hospital i work for

Jacqueline Nutt

The emergency room is the worse. I wouldn't take my puppy there. I went in from clinic with chest pain. They had me sitting in the er from 3 in the afternoon til 2 in the morning. Talking about they had no beds. Sad. And it wasn't the first time. I wish i could give them a 0

Kristi Anna

Best hospital in Maryland. Worth the wait. Nurses and doctors are the best on the east coast. I wish I knew the name of the young lady who volunteers in the adult emergency department with books and beverages. She was so kind and accommodating during our wait and she really loves her job and helping people. I just want that volunteer to know she matters !!

David Ghannam

Best hospital care I ever had. Very helpful and caring staff.

Michelle Clagett

So disappointing. Rude person at the emergency room check in desk, yells at people young and old. A little old lady was so very sick and needed a kidney dish and the woman behind the counter yelled at her to step back before she even was able to tell her what was wrong. They pass out dirty sheets to keep you warm in the freezing cold waiting room, it's just nothing like I would've expected out of a supposed top rated hospital. No one comes and gives you an approximate time after sitting for 6 hours. We travel all over the world, and I've never seen such poor unprofessional service in an ER.

I could say so much on behalf of this teaching hospital. I couldn't refrain from being brief because it's a lot. This hospital is superb and no wonder why they are leading the way in transplants! Their standards of quality of care, safety, and respect cannot go without mention!! As a recent inpatient, I must highlight their genuine efforts to lift your spirits with every encounter, from every level of staff. I've never experienced anything like it in all my years of being sick being admitted to various hospitals in hopes that I would get a transplant from my journey from NC to Maryland over the past 4 years. They are awesome by all measures. The leaders of the hospital must really understand what it means to encompass being a progressive, inspiring, intellectual, and embracing environment. Especially one in which to receive patient care services. And, in particular, as it pertains to the Transplant, GI, & Surgical Teams. They appeared to embrace diversity, be team players, be compassionate, and provided a nice healing & positive environment.

Tim Bouis

Excellent and thorough staff! Highly recommended hospital for evaluation of vascular and cardiac issues. Our personal experience found great doctors, nurses and other staff were very friendly & helpful.

Sabrina Chou

I went for an infusion and the nurses there are AMAZING. A couple months ago, I had a blood test and I felt nauseous, dizzy and had a horrible headache. At John Hopkins, I was there for four hours and had blood taken every 30 minutes. I didn’t experience any dizziness as the nurse constantly told me to take deep breaths and showed me how my iv worked and the different drugs they were using. I did experience some nausea, but only after I took a certain pill that the nurse told me might make me feel nauseous. The nurse was always checking in and made me feel comfortable. This was my first time getting an iv and the nurse definitely gave me such a positive experience. Thank you Kelly!

Lexci Bean

Wouldn’t recommend if you were dying. Charge nurse left 5 people unattended in pain in the hallway. Her peers couldn’t located her and sat there playing candy crush ignoring everyone’s requests for medicine because they weren’t the charge nurse. It was an absolute nightmare. I ended up leaving without being evaluated any further or receiving medicine. At that point then the doctor was concerned and advised I didn’t leave. I’d been there 11 hours, sitting in the hallway crying in pain.

i wanna be a surgeon here but i wanna live in colorado idkk what to doo ive been in maryland my entire life

Unfortunately the ranking of this hospital did not translate into the real deal. There is NO continuity of care. A collaborative approach is non-existent and although everyone was pleasant enough, their lack of thinking “outside of the box” was beyond disappointing. This is a teaching hospital with EXPERTS in the field who were either so disinterested in reviewing our case (which has so many special needs and circumstances you could probably publish multiple times over) or so overwhelmed with their current case-load they could not even manage a consult. Option three is they were never informed. We did not seek the best to see the first line of defense. We sought the best to actually see and consult with the best. Where is your best Johns Hopkins? Do they only publish and neglect the actual patients? Where are the hungry young doctors looking for their big break or to make a name for themselves? And believe me we saw plenty of young doctors who have no idea what to offer, who to consult, nor can they make any thoughts of a consult a reality. Its beyond unacceptable when we can tell your doctors more about procedures and the efficacy of such, than they can. Please explain to me why multiple departments do not have either the time or interest in working together and why there is no team approach. When caring for patients with special needs a team approach could not be more imperative. Not very impressed Hopkins, in fact not impressed at all.

Kelly Christ

Wish I could give zero stars....Patient First and Express Care HAVE BETER follow up. My father was impatient for a month--when he left NOT ONE PERSON followed up or provided support or guidance.

Amy Campbell

First of all, this hospital saved my dad's life. He was being treated for myasthenia gravis at another hospital that clearly didn't know how to treat this condition. After giving him the wrong treatment he worsened into a full myasthenia crisis. He was finally transferred to via helicopter to John hopkins. The hospital's quick action saved his life. My dad has been to many hospitals over the years and said this was the nicest. We couldn't be there because of covid-19 restrictions but they gave excellent communication (way better than the previous hospital) and even assisted us in setting up regular zoom meetings whole he was there. Now I'd like to specifically address the care provided by Dr. Arjun Seth a neurologist at John Hopkins. I just want to absolutely rave about the care and concern that this doctor has shown my father. I've been a nurse for 10 years and have worked with many doctors. I've never seen a doctor that seemed to care this much about his patients. He takes the time to listen concerns and makes himself available if further concerns arise. He goes above and beyond.

dreamchasir

The only Hospital I would rather go to. Been going here multiple times during my visits to Maryland for multiple test and exams. Excellent Professionals that work with you ????. Keep being Great!

Kevin Reichard

Quality care at it's finest. Emergency Department was clean, & staff were courteous, & helpful. A special note if thanks to my providers, nurses, & assistants . I do realize I may have been unpleasant due to my condition, please forgive me. Thank you for your patience, & standards of excellence.

Michaela Healy

This hospital has to be one of the best hospitals on the East Coast. They don’t bother you, they let you rest & they take such good care of you! I really couldn’t think of another hospital on the East Coast that has taken such good care of me!

Samantha Rae

I waited close to 14 HOURS in the emergency room waiting room and still didn’t get seen. I had to leave because I can’t afford to miss work… Don’t waste your time.

BK1112

My dad, my sister, and my stepmom where taken here when we were in a terrible car accident. Great care and excellent staff! They took outstanding care of my family members. I would recommend this hospital!

Brian Johnstone

ER visit on Saturday 5/15/21 was a nightmare. I severely injured my shoulder. I waited 3hrs to just see a triage nurse. Another 2 hrs for xrays. It is now 5 hours later and I have not been seen by a doctor and I Do Not even have a room. I was asked to go back to the ER waiting room. Its not even that busy here from waiting room perspective. This is completely unacceptable! I was expecting more from a top hospital.

It’s really quick response , and not much line , also the staff is very respect with us!

Vincent Rodriguez

Might be the best hands in the country but they're certainly the worst on patient relationships EVER! This has cost me tons of money and haven't even begun my process Clearly don't care either No help for out of towners and departments don't talk to each other. And im a Frontliner as well I've been lied to so many times already its disgusting patient relations is a JOKe!!! And they are destroying the city for their own future 11/24/2021 Bleeding so bad nobody picks up the phone

I brought My son in to the emergency room due to I'ma sever skin outbreak. not sure if it was due to the grouchiness of the night shift, but the staff came across as if I were disrupting them. I received so many dirty looks, I was anticipating security to tell me to leave. Non of the nurses nor the physicians listened, gave a quick analysis and sent us home with a prescription I ready stated didn't work. Next day went to another hospital ER. All staff showed great concern, took my sons condition seriously and kept my son over night for treatment, several tests and diagnostics

Ron R

We had some great and sore experiences at John Hopkins children urology center. Went in for a very stressful 7-8 hour appointment with my 3 month old kid. My and I were both really stressed and we both knew this a invasive and painful test for our LO. Front desk staff were great and doctors were excellent. But one of the nurses who were allowed to us (seems trainee) was very aggressive and had low level skills. Christine tried to do an IV line on my LO and failed miserably, the other nurse did that in 2 seconds. Well, not a problem, benefit of doubt, it’s a tough task to get an IV in a kid. Next, introduction of a catheter.. couldn’t do it, tried 10 times almost on a crying child. The doctor came in and did it in 2 sec. now the connection came loose and it was very clear she used the wrong connection to tap the urine from the foleys. You don’t have to a health care professional to see those connections won’t fit. Christine , the nurse who knows it all, pushed and pushed the catheter till my kid screamed in agony and we begged her to stop. Told her that is not the right connection, oh no her reply was- “sir, this is all we have here”. A hospital which receives millions of dollars grant every year from the feds have one catheter attachment in the whole hospital. And we have to believe that. At that point I am thinking of taking my kid off the table and driving him home. Now the real nurse came in and I told her the issue we are having. Well, magically they have 3 different attachments for the catheter and she figured it out in 2 seconds. I understand that this is a teaching hospital and all want to learn, but do it with a smile. We are private patients with a good amount of out of pocket expense attracted to every procedure we go thru. You don’t have to be rude. No need of false ego. No one is judging your skills. By the way, the radiologist (Michaela) who did the test was amazing, finally we walked out with 3 stars, all of it belong to her and those fine doctors in urology department.

Lorenzo Jimenez

Waste of time coming to this hospital. They’ll say they’re going to assist you but make you wait 4 hours. A person could be dead within those four hours and they’d only notice cause of the people going around checking blood pressures.

Rachel Dolly

The employees working in the billing department are absolutely horrific. They need an attitude adjustment. They are quick to hang up on you and clearly dread their job. Hire new staff that aren't lazy and full of hatred for their job.

Christopher Bluhm

They denied my wife medical care after a car crash.

Camp H.

The best practices at the records office is ridiculous cumbersome and unnecessary. The turnaround time to get any records anywhere is unreasonable. I would have expected better of a hospital of this caliber.

Steven Leary

My experience as a patient is fine. The problem however is patients meals. Yesterday Grill chix breast- burned and over cooked dry as bone Sent my order wrong for breakfast Breakfast potatoes way over spiced Today Recieved half my order Roasted red skin potatoes....not red overcooked and burned Other Carrots not cooked correct and they r frozen carrots. Salad taste dirty not fresh or crisp McDonald's is above this food i have been getting Even if u call and order....u wont get it right Whomever puts trays together...either cant or just wont read it correctly. The food sucks Thank you grubhub for saving me!!!

Rosalyn Jordan

All I can say is Hopkins not that good they need improve lots of thing's main thing. They need to improve Hopkins ER . It's seem they still can't get it right. The long wait time it's crazy how people have to wait . treat people and talk to patients like they are nothing. They need to do better that's rea truth !

Shawdel Scott

I was about to fall I was weak in the legs couldn’t breathe. Majore and lyn female and a man helped me A lot of security guards won’t give me a chair to sit down and regain my breath If u disabled , don’t asked for ask an escort it take hour and a half . This is how they treat people at a hospital Where is the wheeL chairs push button !

LBJ PROS

7 hours and counting wait time in the ER. Ridiculous. This is subpar care/customer service at best. Seriously!

ja hy

I have been sitting here for 8 hours waiting to see a doctor or be placed in a room,, EKG has been done, chest xray has been done,, 8 hours looking at the same 30 people waiting to be seen or placed in a room . This hospital might been famous world wide for a lot of things but one of them is not emergency room efficiency.

Joan Justice

A relative was examined at JHH at the request of CPS and a healthy baby was diagnosed with tibia fractures on both knees. 2 Days Later the baby was seen at Mercy Medical Center no fractures were revealed in the X-ray, we were referred to an orthopedic doctor. Less than two weeks later the baby was examined at University of Maryland Orthopedics and the cast were removed because no fractures were seen. John Hopkins Hospital is in cahoots with the Department of Social Services and CPS to remove black babies from their homes this is medical kidnapping.

Terri L. Handlir

I had spinal surgery in November and can’t say enough about the staff. I had read some of the reviews posted and had some reservations, especially since I would be by myself due to the covid restrictions with visitors, but any reservations quickly disappeared. The nurses and nursing techs were caring and helpful. When I was being discharged, my prescriptions were sent to the in house pharmacy but I didn’t have any money to pay for them. The nursing tech took me down to meet my husband at the main entrance and then took me back up to get my medication. She was so pleasant and I appreciated the smile on her face. She was so kind and so caring, I couldn’t have been in better hands. Thank you to the angels who assisted me while I was there. Your kindness will never been forgotten. Stay safe and be well.

Best all around staff ever

Faith Shipley

My daughter has received the best care here.

Bonnie Christhilf

The staff here is the best I have seen. The nurses truly care about their patience. The rooms are clean and the food is good. The doctors are great, very caring and they want to give you the best possible care to help you feel better and get back on your feel as soon as possible Parking is easily accessible and inexpensive.

doretha hilton

The worst ever. Drop my husband off to ER At 12:30 pm. 8:40 pm he is still sitting in the ER & has not seen a Dr yet????. This ER use to be awesome but not anymore. Half the staff is rude & they definitely don’t care. Mercy or Good Samaritan is ???? % better. Definitely learned my lesson

My brother is at the hospital right now and it took 7 hours for a nurse to come after he called. He said doctors are nice and the things are fine during the day but the night time is really bad.

Brittany Gordon

Jessie was perfect. He works guest services and his customer service is absolutely phenomenal! He makes you forget about the bad day your having! The nurses was also nice (Rebbecca) ! They made my mom feel so comfortable! We love you guys, thanks!

After the experience my wife has gone through at Hopkins, I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. When Howard County General transferred her to Hopkins I was thinking this was great because Hopkins was "supposedly" a really good hospital. Not so much. She spent two weeks as inpatient. The service was decent as inpatient. Most of the nurses were really friendly and very pleasant to talk to and that overall experience wasnt too bad. They were slow at coming to her bedside when called at times, but overall it was pretty good. Outpatient care and followup, on the other hand, is abysmal. Trying to get ANY kind of outpatient care at this place is a joke. Be warned if they release you for outpatient care, everything following will be an absolute nightmare. One department passes you to the next, nobody can answer questions, when you speak to the referring department nobody can help, on and on and on. It is extremely frustrating that no two departments can seem to get their story straight or know what is going on. For a top-rated hospital in the country, the fact that outpatient follow up is such a disaster really shocks me. They are supposed to be helping people through this and instead they make the entire experience painful and frustrating.

I thought they were fantastic!! I had a major surgery there and spent three days as well as multiple trips before hand to be diagnosed. They were caring and prompt with everything I asked for. I would def. recommend them in the future. I was seen in neurosurgery, ophthalmology, and endocrinology. I found them all to be knowledgeable. They always made time to answer all my questions.

My dad had a major surgery to treat his nerves damages caused by the blood vessels. He spent one day in John Hopkins Hospital. The surgery was able to treat his problem and the nerves damage is no longer interfering in his daily routine. He also really satisfied with the post-surgery care. Thank you!

Vanessa Feliciano

Horrible ER you will be left in a room alone to die. No family allowed!!!! Scary place

Cherie Robinette

In my opinion, John Hopkins has failed me. Not just in2008 when they made a huge mistake, btw, confirmed by their own doctors, You have one job!! You have taken an oath!!

Aditya

As I have never visited the hospital, I can't comment on how actually professional and considerate the staff are, (although by reading some of the reviews about the hospital, it doesn't look too good).. The phone receptionist that spoke to me was very polite and to the point, but one of the problems I have with this place is that it doesn't allow telehealth appointments from overseas, which I think is a shame.. In my opinion, with the kind of technology available nowadays, overseas telehealth appointments shouldn't be a problem with such institutes.. Also the website doesn't have any email address that you can contact and only contains phone numbers, so you technically have to make an international call the first couple of times around..

Thank you for taking such amazing care of my daughter and I. When one hospital failed us and sent my daughter home with a skull fracture a blood on her brain you stepped in and took care of us. You restored our faith in doctors and the medical system. You eased our minds, explained why every test had to be done what was going to happen step by step. Your entire staff from surgeons ,nurses, doctors, food services were amazing, caring, informative, attentive, treated us more like family then just another patient. Thank you so much and you truly are the best. Thank you for going above and beyond to take care of us and give is the best care possible.

Michael Glicini

My child was admitted into the NICU, and I have to say the doctors, nurses and staff were the absolute best. Once my child started recieveing treatment from the transport team, my wife and I felt better and confident in the care they were receiving. Thank you everyone for your help, and care for my child's health, and helping us relax just a little in a time of high stress.

My granddaughter had spinal surgery in July, 2019 - the Children's Hospital was amazing - everyone we came into contact with was awesome and very knowledgeable - the nurses were top notch - Dr. Sponseller is the best of the best - we were there for four and half days and our granddaughter's every need was met with a smile

Brenda Wills

Johns Hopkins...."Thank you so much". I can honestly say this is by far the BEST HOSPITAL I have ever been to. So very organized. I received emails from them with instructions on what I needed to do and not to do before the surgery date, along with directions on how to get there, parking, and where to go once I got there. The hospital receptionist was kind and very helpful as well. Yesterday, 9-11-19 I had surgery on my heart. Dr. Calkins and a bunch of other nursing staff were able to do things I never thought were possible. I was given clear instructions on what was goin on every step of the way. I was asked if I had any questions. Surgery went well. Recovery went good and I was able to go home. "This hospital has got it together." Very organized and friendly. The surgeons, doctors, nurses, are very knowledgeable and definitely top-of -the- notch!! You are in safe hands here. I would give them a 10 ☆ instead of a 5. Thank you again Johns Hopkins for your great service.

Sherry Lebowitz

I know my family member is getting excellent care. Even though he's much rather be at home, he is enjoying his stay and has benefited greatly from the care he has been given.

Linda Atwell

Great Doc. N Nurses. Radiation building no one can go in except patient n there's no sitting area. Only restrooms. The Chemo building they welcome quest of patients to come in n sit while waiting for patients. Lot's of different buildings.

William King

A year ago today my experience began. Being diagnosed with chronic heart failure i was transported from Frederick., Md to John's Hopkins. Nurses, and staff were professional and very caring. Even the vampires who woke me up every two hours to draw blood were excellent. I can't praise them enough.

Zachary Weber

Do not go there. I was abused there. It is not a good place to go at all. "Oh johns hopkins is great" LIES! "Johns hopkins is the best hospital." LIES LIES LIES. Take my advice and do not go there.

ms J

Dear John hopkins when are you going to do better. All you do is say sorry when your so called Doctors makes mistakes. You are not number one. Numbers lie

Adam Kutlik

Spent 15 minutes at the hospital. 5 minutes with a tech, 2 at most with the doctor. They told us exactly the same thing we knew before the appointment. They charges us thru the roof which the insurance covered none. I called to discuss getting the bill reduced since insurance companies can do that and the company I work for does it all the time. They refused and stated it is what it is. I was lied to... this place is a business that lacked empathy. Will do whatever it takes to make a buck off its patience. Needless to say if I or my family ever need medical attention we will go elsewhere.

Millie Caplan

Tried for one hour today to get the phone number for the audiology department at Johns Hopkins, Greenspring Station . The phone number is not on the doctors card . Only the number for the department of otolaryngology at the main hospital . The secretary at Greenspring Station said this department has been waiting for THREE months for cards with their phone number . I waited for almost one hour for someone to pick up the phone at the department on Orleans Street. I needed to speak to someone in billing . It’s no longer handled at Hopkins , but Keswick . Another phone call ! As a graduate of Hopkins I am concerned how under the tenure of Radonda Miller the quality has diminished . No wonder we are no longer number one in several departments .

O. S.

I made multiple phone calls to simply schedule an appointment unsuccessfully. They can not verify my insurance, they had no idea how to do and what identification to ask for that. My insurance card is federal including this hospital in the network , yet they can’t, they had zero competence. I made another call they started over again , couldn’t do nothing, same result . Call after call, they asked me questions that had nothing to do with scheduling a doctor appointment. On my last call they made me wait online then after few minutes hanged up on me. I feel discriminated because of my accent . These people in charge of scheduling appointment are very rude and very unprofessional. If you speak with a foreign accent and can’t deal with unprofessional people this is definitely not a place to call. Very disappointing despite all the reviews you can hear about this hospital!

I Love JOHNS HOPKINS Hospital. My whole entire family was born here down to my children, my sister children, etc. Every time I go here I am treated so good and leave feeling better! When Doctors hear im in the building they care for me so much. I’m very proud to have such great doctors. Here I know I’m in good hands always. Thanks JOHNS HOPKINS for birthing me out my moms wound and taking such great care of me ever since!

Mishka Smith

My uncle had very complicated head and neck cancer surgery performed here and I thought the doctors were incredible. They were emphathetic, sincere, and very astute. We felt like we were in good hands during the 6 months that we stayed in Baltimore. The support staff were also very helpful in helping us to find a place to stay, and took care of most of the issues with our insurance company, which really helped because we were not in any shape to go through all of that by ourselves. We are truly grateful for the care and dedication of the hospital.

Chuck Coan

Got here promptly at 9 am for a 10 am appt for our son who is seeing Dr. Lam. It is now 11:45 and we haven't seen anyone as of yet. Seems they are either overwhelmed or very unorganized to care for or let alone see their patients. Very dissapointing.

Tom Hier

My 14yo daughter recently had to under go surgery at Hopkins. I hate to name any staff or dept as it would make one seem better than the other. TOP NOTCH staff and facility!!! From the pre-op staff, to surgical staff, to recovery nurse, to the nurses on 9N, to cleaning staff, to the repair man that came in to replace the soap dispenser. EVERYONE was kind, smiling, upbeat, yet sympathetic to my daughters needs and discomfort. We spent four days there, I NEVER saw a dissatisfied face, heard a disparaging comment. These folks love their job, ( and are darn good at it) or are the worlds best actors. I work in Baltimore, I know the area, yes there are questionable neighborhoods around Hopkins, I NEVER was concerned for my families safety on the campus. If you are coming here for the first time, don't worry about what you see coming in, these folks can not be beat. I know now why Hopkins is consistently rated #1 or close to it. Thank you to the entire Hopkins staff and organization!!!! You are and always will be number one to my family!!

Jen Mac

We have been in the emergency waiting room for 6 hours. Still waiting for the cleaning crew to clean a room so we can meet with the staff to discuss the lab results. The hospital needs to hire more people to clean or hire people who can work at a faster pace. Very frustrating. On the positive side the nurses in the emergency room are very nice and professional.

Taylor Gallion

When I was 6 years old, in 2003, I had pneumonia and my left lung collapsed. I was very close to death, from what my parents told me, but the pediatric doctors saved my life. I was there for over a week and they made me feel so comfortable and special, that I didn't want to leave. That I remember, and will never forget.

shanika p

My mom had a great welcoming stay on the 8th floor. Everyone was amazing, from the nurses,Doctors, techs, housekeepers and food servers. They really treated her like she was the only patient on the floor. THANKS FOR TAKING SUCH GOOD CARE OF MY MOM!! :D

Matthew Wooten

Check there Facebook as I posted my statement there as it is to long for google. All and all I could not even get scheduled right and with the right doctors due to the lack of people doing their jobs. With management not taking calls after they give you a direct line. Very sad situation as you look for comfort from a hospital of this caliber and none of that has happened actually the opposite.

Nicolle Allers

Very good hospital. My doctors there are so awesome and also my coordinator she is the best. Love her so much. This Hospital is my first choice. Everyone there is so helpful and caring.

Jennifer Berryman

I’ve been going to Hopkins for years. The medical care is great but the billing department doesn’t bill my NYS insurance correctly. I have to make numerous phone calls and I keep hearing things like “that should have automatically been sent to the other company. I’m not sure why that didn’t happen.” I just paid a bill that I shouldn’t have had to pay to keep it from going to collections. I’ve repeatedly asked to speak to a supervisor and none are available. I left a second message for patient relations. . They never called me back after my first call. I will continue to see one provider that I’ve seen for years but am finding an endocrinologist at another hospital. If they’re going to provide poor customer service I’m going to take my health care dollars elsewhere.

Deborah Wilson

I was referred to a "top notch surgeon" back in 2014. It took months to get an appointment but I was willing to wait. Unfortunately, the visit was not worth the wait. The doctor was lacking in bedside manners and she treated me like a number. She had zero compassion or interest in me as a person, as I was made to feel as if I was intruding on her valuable time. I am still debating whether she was arrogant or just plain rude. I left feeling that the trip had been a total waste of time. Thankfully, the hospital staff was well organized, friendly and polite. The initial check in was flawless and this made up for my poor experience with the surgeon. The hospital was clean and well deserving of positive reviews I had read online. All of this notwithstanding, I was not comfortable with the doctor and decided to select another hospital. A patient should never be made to feel that he/she is bothering a doctor who is being paid to listen, share knowledge, and solve a problem. Any doctor who has such low tolerance for those he/she is paid to serve should strongly consider a new profession.

milena monroe

Sad. Supposed to be a top hospital. Dr. Wu in pediatric urology is a joke. I've been waiting for days for a call back. My daughter's general doctor wants me to discuss current issues she is having with Dr. Wu but she will not return my phone calls. She failed to disclose important information about my daughters condition to me. I have put 2 complaints into patient relations and have yet to get a response from them. I heard CHOPS in PA is great and I'm considering there next. Do your child a favor and find a hospital with doctors that care!

Tanya Whitlock

Worst experience of my life!!

Amanda Schmidt

Sad I even have to write a review, but figured I could sway others from not going to this hospital. Had our son with Howard County - and while most doctors/nurses there were great, there were a few doctors that should definitely be removed from the staff due to lack of attention to detail. I shouldn’t have to explain my chart to my doctor every single week, especially with a high risk pregnancy. Aside from that, we got a $200 bill for the doctor on staff (which happened to be an ER doctor) to discharge my child. The kicker is that because it was the ER doctor, they charged us an emergency room discharge! Even more? THAT DOCTOR DIDNT ACCEPT AN INSURANCE CLAIMED TO BE COVERED BY THE HOSPITAL! They even refused to work with the insurance company on multiple occasions when we filed a claim. Eventually, I got tired of the game and paid the dumb thing. Why do you have a doctor working for you who doesn’t accept major insurance companies?? Howard should be requiring their doctors to accept certain insurance companies if they are going to allow them to bill from their offices. It’s sad because our delivery was great, but due to major mistakes from the doctors and billing being atrocious, we will be going to a different hospital going forward.

John Hicks

I have been to just about every hospital ER south of Baltimore. I can honestly say I hope to never be back you your facility. You boast having 67 rooms but it seemed as if everyone was being treated in the waiting room. Then fast service after I witnessed many people who were in the waiting room at 2:00 pm and at 9:00 pm were still in the waiting room. While our 9 hour visit not once have we spoken with a doctor your nursing staff was amazing and very professional however watching people being treated in the waiting room and not once speaking to a doctor for anything is extremely poor service. I should have gone to Howard County general hospital.

Maureen Leen

Brought a friend for a test, appointment was for 9 am. Arrived early to complete paperwork. Still has not had test and it is 2:30. told it would be another 2 hours to wait for the test. If you are that far behind, reschedule, as not all patients are local. we have a 2 hour drive home.

Doug Deitrick

It has been over 12 years since I walked out of Johns Hopkins hospital pancreatic cancer free and haven't looked back at the cancer. After two unsuccessful operation attempts along with a month of chemo and radiation at another hospital I was told at that hospital there was nothing more to do and that I had 6 to 12 months to live. Placing god first, my family's support second and Dr. Kurtis Campbell and Johns Hopkins right in there as well I am still healthy and have experienced 3 grandchildren since. The most wonderful hospital and staff on earth! Thank you again Dr Campbell and Johns Hopkins!

Spencer Shaffer

Wasted day at the Pediatric GI.

David Garreis

I was at Hopkins for a week following aortic valve replacement. The nurses were great. The Drs that performed my surgery were fantastic. I would recommend Hopkins for any serious cardiac treatment.

Janet Rodriguez

The best hospital! Thankyou so much for helping my love one .we had gone to all the hospital in Maryland all of them would just not care and not get to the bottom of the actual problem with someone in so much pain . but not John Hopkins they actually care about their patients and found the problem and helped us so much thankyou soo much for still actually caring about patients

Alhosani888

Best hospital in the area, they have their own processes how to treat patients. The JHH always letting us know what’s going on our health concerns and what is the next step for our treatments. I have been treated and my family at this hospital for one year and the gave us the best treat ever!! MAY GOD BLESS THEM!!!!

MERLENE LONDON

I am a 73 year old woman who has spent over 15 hours in the John Hopkins emergency room sleeping in a chair and waiting for a doctor. There was blood work and EKG done, but nothing else. I would have stayed longer if i had been offered a bed in the hallway or a turkey or chicken sandwich with juice. Also, It would have made the agonizing wait easier if there had been a coffee or a tea pot in a corner some where. A TV would have been nice in the area where we sat. We arrived there about 1:45pm and as we were pushing 12mid-night a mandatory quiet time while people slept would have helped. The later it got the louder people got . We truly did not get a sense that John Hopkins cared for its prospective patients, so we left around 6:45 the next morning never seeing a doctor.(over 15 hours) We felt that if we had stayed any longer without proper nourishment, we would have gotten sicker.

Daniel Varga

My wife was sent there via Hopkins surgeon for cat scan. He called ahead for immediate response. My wife's pain was 10/10. Got her there at 2;30 PM and was not entered to ER Until 11;30 PM. 9 hr. wait until she saw a doctor even though a senior Dr called ahead. Really a shame. The hospital is recognized nationally as a great hospital. Once your in it's OK Getting beyond the "mote" is rediculous. I would never want to go there again

Alison Robinson

I had brain surgery at John Hopkins Hospital in 2019 there staff was amazing . Dr. Judy Haung is the best neurosurgeon. She knows here stuff here staff never once dropped the ball. Kudos to John Hopkins Hospital for an absolutely amazing experience.

Tom Gilhuley

12 hours waiting to see a doctor in ER. 12 hours! Still waiting. If you need emergency help, avoid Hopkins Hospital at all costs. Go to Mercy, GBMC or even Medstar is better. Absolute disgrace this is considered a top healthcare facility. Shameful.

Debra Woodard

Would never go any place but Hopkins. The physicians are the best of the best. It is a facility that is enriched in academia, research and cutting edge technologies. Hopkins provides care that is extraordinary and known throughout the world. It is hands down known as the best in eye care at Wilmer Eye clinic and cardiology. Where else can you walk into a mini international community.

Stephanie Johnnie

I've accompanied someone who had surgery there years ago and I recently made an inquiry to set up an appointment for myself and both times the people who work there (non-medical staff) are incredibly rude. The hospital has a great name but the people are terrible.

Ronnie Milburn

Sometimes take all of your day

Jay Raquidan

I’ve had to go to the ER twice this past week though the wait was long it was worth it the first time I didn’t have to wait long due to chest pain the first time but once you actually get into a bed and into the hands of a Johns Hopkins Physician whether it’s the Resident or Attending at all times they were extremely professional and assured me that they were going to take great care of me. I honestly don’t know how people talk so bad about this hospital the care I received this past week has been 2nd to NONE.

R Hakim

My mother recently visited the Emergency department to be evaluated for headaches. Some work up was done and she went home, having been there for several hours. That night she received a call to go back to ED for a procedure that needs to be done to rule out a serious brain bleed as the CT report was suspicious. The next day she arrived at 10 am and was kept waiting in the waiting room in freezing air conditioning until 9 pm. She was only given a bed at that time having waited for 11 hours. The resident who evaluated her said that the procedure she was supposed to get was now not necessary as the full CT report was now normal. She then has to wait unti 1 am to be discharged as the attending physician had to evaluate her and discharge her. She came home around 1:30 am and now is sick with a cold and can’t talk due to laryngitis, having been kept over 15 hours in freezing cold. She left with no additional treatment. All the while the nurses and staff were rude and uncaring. This is all the more upsetting because my father had surgery and was discharged the same day and had to be home alone while all this was going on. I am beyond upset. I am upset that in a hospital setting a patient is getting sicker waiting for care. The hospital does not care that a patient is kept waiting while they are only concerned about covering their own behind. I understand there are sicker patients who take priority but why call her in the first place. I am all too familiar with this setting and know that there are more efficient ways of triaging patients if only the management could be better. This system is just not good and it is third rate in my opinion. I would think twice before going to Johns Hopkins hospital.

Hannah Carter

I have family that have been at the ER for over 5.5 hours at their last update and still have never been serviced. The patient is in severe condition and has not even been permitted to have her spouse inside to calm her. She had to go sit outdoors in the cold in order for family to calm her. The staff has been beyond rude with zero compassion. How very sad.

Hydeia Steed

Trying to call and check on my sibling, someone keeps hanging up on me!

A. N.

Best experience! Friendly and courteous staff, wonderful doctor, state of the art equipment, beautiful facility and the peace of mind from knowing that you are in the best hospital in the World. Thank you !

starlett monet

Very disorganized and caused my family more health issues by not scheduling immediately as promised. Condition is worse????

Tom Redding

Terrible ER customer service who can’t help their patients understand their test results. Lazy and fail to get appropriate doctors to provide service.

Trace Johnson

The surgery team of Doctor Black was outstanding ???????? also the nurse of both. I c u thanks a eternity

poonam gupta

I like the doctors but very unhappy with billing practices. I got a specialized blood test done for which they charged $4699. This amount was paid by insurance and me. Then they sent an additional bill for!$ 2955 with no explanation one week later. When I called Business office they said this was fees for pathologist for interpreting the blood test. This is totally Outrageous. Patients seeking care be vigilant:

Patrick Thompson

Spending time as a patient in the neuro unit with the creme de la creme of docs/nurses/techs in the world. The food is that of a hospital but the treatment is otherworldly. You can tell there is a culture of excellence in care, all the way up from the cleaning staff. For someone that has lived with neurological damage for decades, you couldn’t ask for a more. Hope for the hopeless. I’d subtract a star for the terrible parking garage but the healers deserve the full 5.

V Th

Waiting in the ER Rn playing on their cell phones talking to other people just socializing. No customer services skills my first experience at the hospital do not recommend. If there too busy get pads (playing on there phone) had an attitude when ask if they had extra small adult diapers which she reply,No there to big for her I told her I get her pads in underwear. If that's not good enough for her then you can go CVS down the street.. Mind blown like she wanted one someone to argue with her. Try to get her name. No name tag or badge.

Jason Lynch

I was in the emergency waiting room for 6 hours I watched the room empty, fill up, empty, fill up and empty again. I saw people come in well after myself and they got seen right away and when I asked when will I be seen they said soon 10 hours later still in the waiting room I had no choice but to leave its crazy how someone could go for a 5 min procedure and be in there all day and still dont get seen

Camron Cordell

The wait process is very long and it's frustrating

Margaret McElligott

When my husband had a stroke, I moved him to Johns Hopkins. Everyone here, from the cleaning staff, nurses, therapist, blood draw people and doctors, has been wonderful! They were uniformly kind, friendly, capable and knowledgeable. I could not have asked for better care.

Zainub Balla

I had an incredibly rude nurse and felt that they were overall incompetent. The nurse had the nerve to say “so what do you want us to do” when I had been completely clear of my symptoms and the possible causes and all they needed to do was administer the medicine and take tests to determine the correct cause. I later determined myself I had a gluten intolerance and possibly celiac but they did not think to bring that up at all as a possibility. They are not the first nor second hospital to not consider gluten as a cause but they are the first hospital to give me attitude when discussing my symptoms and making me feel like I had no right to be there when I couldn’t even speak because my stomach acid had severely damaged my throat at that point. I hate hospitals but this hospital had me crying on the bus home.

Maurice Simmons

It is a teaching the doctors are good and knowledgeable
