Absolutely amazing staff. The care they provide + they take the extra mile to make your child happy and comfortable as well as for the parents. I've been in walk in emerge, the clinics + ops. Amazing hospital
Gift from God, they gave my family hope, I have reason to believe Sick Kids is a blessing for us, when no hospital was able to us, we got help from above when they thoroughly investigated, tested and help recover us ...God bless whole team....2016 till 2019
Nurse are racist here. In two separate visits, both my daughter and my friends' daughter had high 39 degree fever, but the nurse insisted they are not having fever. We complaint to the hospital, and they said they are going to follow up with us. However, we never receive any email or call ever after. The system at Sickkids are ragged!
This place is amazing the nurse are nice, and I thank them for caring for me, thank you so much!!.
I am a patient here and I love this place! If your child ever goes to the Orthopedic Clinic on the S level, and you meet Samantha, she is a great doctor. Always open to change, and to work things out on your personal life! And if you see Doctor Jennifer, a Orthopedic Surgeon, she's another amazing staff member at this hospital. They are both amazing doctor's who have helped me, and several other patients. Affordable parking, Welcoming staff, and great medical care. The professionalism is at the top notch. Thank you all! - Kyra, Orthopedic Patient.
My son has had 4 open heart surgeries and many, many visits here. I can't say enough good stuff about this amazing hospital and the absolutely incredible staff. Simply everyone we have interacted with has been very kind and caring. We are very happy to have such good Care close to home.
Amazing

They have a really big ego over here. Since they're under the "SickKids" banner, every one thinks they are above you. I'm also never donating to their foundation again, I can't believe the wages of the people running it...
saved my daughter ' life
My daughter had surgery here and I have nothing but Praise for the BEST Hospital in the world!
No place is better to bring your child for any serious issues.
Whenever my kids are sick and I take them to sick kids we get a highest level of care that we can possibly get.::-)
Best hospital for kids in the country they are amazing. They do wonder at this hospital. Thank goodness for all the staffs especially the Drs and Nurses????❤️. Due to Covid only one parent is allowed for appointments. I understand the need for one parent rule but when it comes to surgery it’s so hard to see only one parent struggling. No one for moral support from family and friends. In this case I strongly believe hospital should have someone to talk to like a social worker on site to guide a worried parents or guardian. Especially when they take the child for surgery the parent or a guardian becomes so worried. I was able to witness them being helpless and emotional ????. I was one of those parents ???? Only complaint is about the parking not easy to find parking spots.
The wonderful people at Hospital for Sickkids are doing god's work. They kept my little boy alive for many years. May god help them to keep on doing what they are doing. My boy is now gone but my other children are still benefiting from this institution from time to time. I am very thankful to these people.
I had spinal surgery for scoliosis 2 weeks ago, still recovering at home, but doing very well. I am very impressed the results. When it was time for my surgery, they told me and my mom and dad to say our goodbyes and being the great parents they are, they comforted me and I hugged both my mom and dad before I went inside the operating room. When I got in I met with the doctor asking me questions about my allergies and what the side effects were if the substance went in contact with me, the anesthesia team laid me down getting ready to put an IV in my hand to pump anesthesia. They offered me laughing gas if I was uncomfortable with getting an IV, I was fine with needles, but I wanted to experience what laughing gas did to you, it made me really light headed making me completely unaware of what was going on and I only heard voices telling me to stay calm and that the IV was being inserted, after a couple of minutes the IV was pumping anesthesia before I even knew it, by the time they took out the laughing gas, the anesthesia kicked in and I went unconscious. I believe my operation started at around 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM, still under anesthesia, I woke up at around 5:30 PM. After I woke up I met a lot of day and night nurses that regularly check up on you and all of them were phenomenal, they were all friendly and always asked if I was in any unmanageable pain then relieved it. After a day of laying down, it was time for me to try and walk, with assistance of course, after they sat me up, I almost vomitted which is completely normal, I sat up for a couple of minutes to try and fight the urge to vomit. I started walking for the first time and I was very disoriented, I only walked in 3 little circles and that was my limit. Days were the same, I got up to walk everyday, managing my back pain which was extremely difficult for the first few days, and I was finally able to walk short distances on my own. TL:DR To sum things up if you ever come here for spinal surgery or any type of operation for that matter, I can say that the doctors know what they're doing and there's nothing to be worried about.
we feel proud of our Toronto sick kids hospital
The staff and care have always been awesome. Just sad that we need a place like it.
Really bad service, was not allowed to eat anywhere. There nurses were really forceful and rude. All of my appointments were delayed with no one informing me. And forcefully asked to touch and see my private parts (keep in mind I'm a minor)
I was an out-patient or Sick Kids for years during my childhood and lived my visits there our any other doctor or hospital trip I took. The hospital has a little bit of colour and feels less sterile than most which makes it a more comforting place. I used to go to the bunny wing (I think they’ve gotten rid of the animal markers since). I enjoyed my trips with mum, eating at the food court, shopping in their Main Street shop, and then visiting my favourite doctor. The staff was always friendly and they put us at ease. There’s a great health food shop here now too. My only wish was that more hospitals felt as comforting as Sick Kids makes you feel as a kid.
They do very important work!
I had the honor of working at sick kids for many years( Great Hospital)
Heaven sent place for children
This two stars are for 20 percent of all the employees in SickKids that help other 80 percent to be proud about working in SickKids. The name of the hospital is well-known only by effort of these 20% practitioners such as Dr. Paul Wales and Dr. Anna Gold. I should add my son survived a very tragic wrong treatment when he was 9 months old and still after over 10 years he suffers from those mistakes. They turned an small issue to a very huge one by wrong operations and ... One day I should write a book about SickKids and unprofessional employees who were working proudly without accepting their critical rules to take care of children. By putting many consents in front of parents to sign, they feel safe to start their practice on our children as their guinea pigs.
Best Stuff Ever ...
The best in the world

My mother started her career in Health Care here at Sick Kids Hospital 20-25 years back. My sister was treated here when she was younger. My sister is still here today through the advancements Sick Kids has done and assisted with diabetes. There was a time when my parents thought she wouldnt be around for long. Its been over 20 years now. It just came to my mind to start supporting this World Class Hospital. I hope you always strive to do the best and think nothing is impossible.Regards, Pravin Michael Balasundaram
THE GREATEST HOSPITAL ever. The staff are head and shoulders above any doctors out there. The whole place functions as 1 unit and seem to move seamlessly throughout the hospital. Care and attention to detail are the highest level of any hospital in the world. They go above and beyond for the patient but also the family as well making sure they are informed and comfortable durning the stay. Thank you for all you do..
Best hospital that we've ever experienced. Client centric, facilities, quality of care, quality of staff are all top notch. We go here rather than our local hospital unless imminent life threatening emergency.
Waiting times at the emergency department are too long.
One of the world's best children's hospital. Security at information is a little lacking with lots of attitude. We were there Dec 7, 2018, late evening. Two security "guys" on duty sitting at the information desk was busy in a discussion. Boys, if you don't want to be interrupted and in an actual meeting perhaps you should find a room. I've been donating to this hospital as a monthly contributor for decades and was one of the few times I was there and was not particular please with their attitudes. The lady security guard was totally opposite and very pleasant as I later passed by.
Vital!
Thank you for giving my daughter the gift of hearing.
There service is really bad they made me wait 12 hours and then they said another 12 hours Although the doctor's are being good but wait time is so long and bad
Great hospital
great hospital, amazing staff! they saved my life and my daughter. we always come here, there isnt a hospital out there we trust with our children like this one!
Sadly, one of the worse hospitals for patients and health care workers alike. Very poor management. Donations being funnelled up. Avoid at all costs.
The worst hospital ever, when I asked the nurse for whats the wait time she said 7 hours but I'm here from last nighy 11pm its almost 9hours and we haven't seen the pediatrician yet.
Coming here is the worst decision we ever made. There are 3 hospitals in scarborough but we decided to come here for our son cause we thought they would care more. We came at 1am and left 7:30am without seeing the doctor. We didn’t even get the chance to have a room atleast so the kids can sleep comfortably. Such a horrible experience!
Well trained and caring staff, we dealt with a very kind and compassionate surgeon which is very important when you are a concerned parent.
Beautiful Great staff
If you end up here with your kids, first of all, I'm sorry. But do know that you are in the very best possible place on the planet for children's medicine. If you grew up wanting to do medicine and help kids, getting a job here would be like making the NHL. The care here is top-notch and the staff are, simply put, incredible.
Friendly nurses and hospital staff....
nice building
Awesome and caring staff, great facility, clean patient rooms with TV and free WIFI throughout the hospital.
The work they do here, is nothing short of a miracle.
They are very helpful and nice but take a long time ????
Beyond my expectations. I am really impressed.
Thank you Sick Kids. Professional clear communication and examination. Left with a print out and instructions.
pure excellence
It was my first time going in last November and I didn't have a clue where I was going but the volunteers we really helpful and this past week they help me alot to get me and my daughter to all her appointments
FOR ME SICKKIDS IS ONE OF THE BEST HOSPITALS IN THE WORLD. I stayed there for a month and honestly I am sure I couldn't be treated better. Awesome staff and very kind as well. Thank you!
Absolutely fantastic hospital. Had to take my baby (less than 3 weeks old) and the service and care we were provided was top-notch. From the warmth of care to the expertise of the doctors and nurses, this could not have been a better experience. I cannot thank Sick Kids enough. The triage nurse saw us immediately in Emerge and rather than keeping us waiting in the general waiting area, since we were with a small baby, they gave us a private room. Doctors/nurses who came to see us were very warm and took time to explain the issue and consult with us with every single step. Once we were admitted, again, the service and care was exceptional in every way. I have never experienced such loving care before. The surgery itself was also handled in the best possible way and our request to stay back one more day before we were discharged was entertained without any fuss. I specifically want to mention the nurses on the 5th floor and Dr. Langer for taking care of my baby and providing us with such excellent care. Thank you so so very much! For anyone with little kids, please don't even think of going anywhere else. Sick Kids should be your only destination.
I will always be in support of SickKids Foundation .. Thanks to every individual working at the Hospital For Sick Children .. Thanks for all your efforts
Good
The best hospital :')
please do not go here these guys are falling apart go to a better hospital i stayed here once i think people here dont care at all please goverment of ontario shut this terrible place down before its too late its a shock this is where taxpayers money goes !
There aren't enough words to describe how amazing this hospital is and its staff!
Recently, my baby had heart surgery with Dr. RACHEL DAWN VANDERLAAN. She was amazing and whole team was so amazing. Also, sickkids nurses are super nice and friendly.. my baby has discharged after 6 days and we had wonderful time with sickkids.
the burritos taste weird and make crying noises when i eat them
Nice

Good doctors and nurses. Great hospital ONCE you get treated... yep, once. Waited 15 hours for a cast.

Most amazing hospital! My brother had heart surgery in 2016. The doctors/nurses/staff were friendly and helpful. This hospital certainly made my family get through a difficult time.
I just want to share my bad experience with Sick Kids Hospital. I have daughter 9 yr old. We came to hospital to emergency department last night at 9pm with symptoms vomiting and high fever 38.2 and we met trainee "doctor F" only 2:30am. It is impressed me. I thought worst hospital is Trillium in Mississauga. Where we were spend 10 hours and actually we did not get doctor assessment even. So we spent 5 hours in hospital Sick Kids and "doctor" said nothing emergency after 12 hours vomiting and fever 38.2 C. This condition is normal and she prescribed just Tylenol. Whole world is already laughing about Canadian medicine and drugs. "Advil and tylenol" for all diseases. We were impressed how the "doctor" like magician make diagnose without any test (blood or urine) to recognise is this infection, bacteria or appendix or some inflammation in side body. "Doctor" said if she will get pain in stomach that maybe appendix. This is one more time tell about knowledge of doctors, medicine and people moral. I am immigrant with 10 years experience as Canadian citizen. I was in hospitals in different countries. I have never seen so bad service. I am not proud of my new country. Government does want hospitals hired more doctors and in same time ready spend money leaning 9 years old kids to anal, oral sex, masturbation, different style of family instead of improve medical service. I am not afraid say that because i am really want proud of my new country and the medicine needs to be changed. The world is upside down.
Always helpful doctors and staff
Doctors and nurses treated my newborn with so much love and care. This hospital is by far one of the beat in the world. Thank you guys so much!
Best hospital in the world. Excellent doctors and nurses.
This is the best hospital to send your child...hands down.
The names of the hospital says everything. Its a world class hospital with wonderful and kind staff. It has all type of medical facilities, emergency and mall as well. Tim Hortons, Subway, Shoppers Drug Mart and so many restaurant options available for food.
The best hospital for kids when i was a kid i came here and also the doctors were Amazing if you have kids in ontario come to this hospital its Amazing
Best hospital and staff you could ever imagine! They saved my sons life :)
I had surgery when i was 2 and half, because i was born deaf and they said they could fix it so i could wear cochlear implant... So i wanna thank you all who can fix it!! I'm soo grateful all of you <3
I work at the best children hospital #1 ????????
Worst service ever. Had appointment at 9:45. Assistant came to see at 1:30, than our special doctor ho came to see at 2 pm. With 3 months old baby, have sit outside in waiting for 4-5 hours. And this is after taking appointment of 9:45. Don't ask how long it took to take appointment.
We've had to visit sickkids emerg almost 5 times in the last 2.5 months and have gone to sickkids for our son's emergent needs. All I can say is that I am thankful for the emerg team at sickkids. The physicians, residents, physician assistants and few nurses have been fantastic. The medical staff are knowledgeable yet so compassionate and would travel a ways to come to sickkids
On Monday, September 18, 2017, I had visit a student. Although the directions are very confusion, the staff are very friendly.
Staff seem very attentive and concerned for their patients.
Pathetic management. This is NoT Sick Kids. It's Sick Hospital. Not sure how this is best hospital. I am here from 10 pm here yesterday and now it's 8 in the morning for next day. Waiting time say 3 to 5 hours waiting but it's been almost more than 10 hours and no doctor is here... Very upset ???? ..
Been here several a number of years ago as a young teen with a degrading heart ailment (not saying which). Many of the medical doctors, and staff, we're quite slow and extremely hesitant in providing medical treatment that was actually an 'EMERGENCY'. Then again during my short stay in the ER and ICU, before being transferred to another hospital, several of the RN's and doctors were quite unprofessional and rude, and coming across some unneeded racism which I found offensive, on which these above issue need to be resolved, and somehow people praise this place to a great place for kids and teens with health issues?
Great Clinical Placement
They provide service and support to patients.
Amazing hospital. Great service. Compassionate staff. I feel fortunate to have access to this great hospital for my kids.
I would give them 10 stars if I could. They saved my child's life. For those concerned about the wait times, you need to make this an election issue. Wait times and quality of service is a problem in all of our health care. Ask the government why they are wasting billions on a gas plant relocation and solar power yet not funding the health care we pay for.
The hospital is fantastic, staff are nice and genuinely care. This is the place to be if your little one requires medical assistance.
I;m very disgusted in the way Dr Juveene handled my autistic niece. She had been complaining of chest pains and we took her to Sick Kids and before the Dr even touched her, she said she would not be doing any xrays or scans. We took her there a 2nd time and they did an xray and couldn't find anything. The third time all they did was an ultrasound and they said muscle pain. Come to find out her left lung had collapsed and had to have surgery after we took her to Humber River Hospital Keele site. Even the doctors were shocked that Sick Kids couldn't find the problem. I have lost all my faith in sick kids hospital. They need to treat all races the same way. Dr's need to be fair in the way they treat patients of ethnic culture. Sick kids is no longer the first option for our family. If this was detected earlier my niece would not been suffering in pain for almost 4 months. The Dr said she could have died in her sleep and that is thanks to Sick Kids Hospital not being thorough in dealing with an autistic child.
My daughter broken both bones of her forearm on Friday. We went there after 12 hours being there and being lost in their new system as being released couple of times eventually they did a reduction for her and send us out with a cast. Before leaving her fingered started swelling and I told couple of doctors and they told me it’s okay. Went home 24 hits later she couldn’t feel her fingers anymore. Rushed her to North York General and when orthopaedic technician name Alex (very kind and gwntle$ saw it freaked out of how tight the cast was and was very worried. He didn’t have the X-rays so they just tried to cut around it and give it a little air but said go and see if is better and all shook their head of whomever done the casting (an orthopaedic residence and sick kids). 5 hours later her fingers were worse and since NYGH orthopaedic centre was closed wile went back to sick kids 8 hours later we were told by another orthopaedic residence that he is afraid to open the cast for breat as her arm had too much swelling and could cut her skin (in front of her which freaked her out!!!!). They sent us home with morphine. 12 hours later her fingers were not almost bursting. Hot, swelling and shiny with almost loosing sensation. Went back to NYGH this time the orthopedic doctor and same nice technician Alex just said there is no way this is too serious we need to cut a line and let the arm breath this is crazy. This time they took an X-ray and after being happy with where the break was they gently and patiently cut her cast and give her the biggest relief. I am shock Sick Kids is this bad. Lots of $$$ is going there. I am the one also donating to them but these 20 hours experiences I had were horrible. They should teach their orthopaedic residence a little more before sending them to the field! On the other hand NYGH experiences were fast and kind and perfeasional and great:)
Friendly and caring staff. New parking options for frequent visitors is a great new change.
I personally go there every six months always had great experiences (even when I stayed there over night for about two days) still a great hospital with covid going on and things like that I am very lucky to go there with the great doctors
My son had a GI procedure done today and I could not be more please by our experience. Carol performed the procedure and explained every step to my son before it happened. Her mannerism set both of us at ease and made a difficult situation much more bearable! She was kind and patient, offering encouragement to my son. Thank you Carol (from 4C)! You are appreciated!
very slow we were 6 people with their kids it took me 5h of waiting to see a Dr ..and when u see him he spend 2 to 3 min with u it does not make any sens why all this time of waiting so frustreted of the service the gov need to do something about this terrible service
Best hospital. In case of serious illness I take my kids to this hospital. State of the art technology, professional and knowledgeable doctors. It's the best hospital to take your kids for thorough check ups.
I found out today 54 years later that this hospital helped me be better when I was born and want to say thank you
SICK KIDS MAY BE DEVELOPED BUT THE WAITING TIME FOR THE EMERGENCY IS STILL NOT. Since 2003 to 2019 I have come to this hospital with my children and my freinds kids between the age of 0 to 12 through emergency. Some of the cases include faintess, physical pain and similar problems. But in all these situations they were only taken a look at after a 4 to 5 hours wait. In comparison I took my kid to St.Michael's which didn't even take more than 15 min. My question is that between these16 Year's why is there such a long time limit and what is there improvement in the last 16 years? Where does emergency take place here?
SHAME ON YOU!!! Horrible experience for me and my daughter at the emergency department. I should give this facility a negative score. No quality medical care was given to my daughter for her 2 conditions and was discharged without any medical relief or first aid. Because it's not a life and death situation, we waited for 3 long uncomfortable hours. We were there at 1am and was called in the room at 4am. No nurse or doctor came. When a doctor came in, he has to leave to attend to another emergency. My daughter was writhing in pain because of an skin allergy attack. I was getting angry and went to the nurse station with my crying daughter and asked for the doctor. There were about 5 nurses there on their seats chatting, so relaxed while the children and parents wait in agony.....It's a form of torture mentally and physically for the sick children and the parents to be in that place..... .Ridiculous emergency department. There are alot of kids who needed medical attention but there were no doctors and nurses available. Pathetic and mediocre service. The doctor did a urinalysis and the test came out clear. They handed me a print out of my daughter's 2 conditions with a DIY instruction on what I should do! My daughter's medical condition was not given any relief. Not an ounce of medicine was given to her to ease her discomfort and no cream was applied to her. We were discharged. My daughter was still feeling the discomfort when we got home and had to rush her to our family doctor. I called them to complain about the doctors and their inaction and incompetence in handling my daughter's situation. They even turned off the wifi in our room after I had a heated discussion with a nurse who peeped in our room. You know who you are. Your emergency service is a big joke!
This is the worst emergency I have ever seen... Doesn't make sense to wait 5-6 hours every single time we come here... If there are so many patients everyday, they should improve their service... I am here right now and after 5 hours the doctor spent 5 minutes with us... It's pretty frustrating the long waiting...

Doctors are so good and the nurse very caring and the food good
terrific hospital with wonderful group of health care professionals to deal with.
Horrible experience. Extremely long wait times in the ER. There are 2 giant screens playing Paw Petrol non stop in the waiting area next to each other with their volume set to max, but guess what they are playing different episodes. They really do not want you to come here unless you are dying and trying to test your limits to see if you really really want to see a doctor.
State of the art facilities, world-renowned physicians and nurses, and groundbreaking research, all in one building. How could you say anything bad about HSC? That's right, you can't!
One of THE best hospitals I've ever had to be to. I have Chronic Pancreatitis. Dr Gonska and her team have helped me better my life with my condition drastically and I could not be more happy. I am now 18 and have been a patient of sick kids for 4 years. I have no moved on and graduated from sick kids with out an issue. Do not hesitate to bring your I'll child here!! I HIGHLY recommend it. Staff is amazing nurse's are very helpful but understaffed and underpaid. And overworked. ER wait times are reasonable as to the size of the hospital. Parking is easy and convenient however expensive. But they're a hospital.
My family visited the emergency room this past weekend, my daughter had been suffering from agonizing constipation for a few days. We had gone to urgent care centres, tried home remedies, with no relief. We were seen by Dr. Anh Do, and she was extremely helpful. She was thorough, and did her best to make our daughter feel relaxed and comfortable. When it came time to get a urine sample, it took a little longer than we anticipated. So when we returned to the waiting room, she had left ( it was her lunch break). We waited for the nurse to call us to let us know if the test was clear and be discharged. Instead, the Dr. herself, lunch bag in hand came looking for us. She said "Oh good, you're here! Come back in and I'll see you now". The results were clear, and she gave us some recommendations on how to help my daughter get back on track and ease the discomfort she was feeling. The Dr. really impressed me with her kind and gentle approach and really kept my daughter calm. We live almost an hour away, but was worth it, giving us piece of mind that nothing of an urgent matter was wrong. Thank you again Dr. Do. You really did help us in such stressful time, your bedside manner was wonderful. More doctors need to be like this when dealing with stressed and scared children.
This has got to be the worst hospital of all time... it’s a shame that they have to work with these poor children! They do not care about anything, not even a call back to check up with an appointment. They don’t care if your 15 minutes late from traffic, they book you for two months later. Shame on you SICK KIDS!
Came here my whole life, now at 17 and soon to never return. I'm going to miss coming here. Every time I came here was a great experience I do still miss burger king which got removed a decade plus ago but still. This hospital will always hold a place in my heart.
Some of the nurses here are SO incredibly rude. My 6 month old is in severe pain from constipation. I've tried everything, I've done everything our family dr has reccomended. When I was telling the triage nurse that my daughter is constantly screaming in pain from constipation she asked if I had tried Tylenol.. who gives a baby Tylenol for constipation? When I said no she spoke to me like I was a complete idiot and rushed me through to the waiting room. She didn't take anything I said seriously and put us down as low concern. Now I've been sitting here for 5 hours with a screaming baby because apparently constipation isn't a serious issue!!!
My 7 week old grandson was brought into this sick kids hospital for repeated projection vomiting since 2am on 9/1 and my son & daughter in law are still waiting on an ultrasound almost 14 hours now, what the heck is wrong with this hospital. It’s ridiculous. Angry grandparents.
I am from 730 pm still in waiting room. Now time 5am OMG its doesn't make any sense .
As a young child I had to be admitted once, they took great care and made it less stressful and more fun.
State of the art one of the best top five in the world. Teaching, Research and Treating hospital. The total medical care for children under one roof.
I had a wonderful experience at Sick Kids; mainly because the staff were kind and astute. In addition, the food as a patient was absolutely delicious.
Best hospital in Toronto. Parking is very expensive
Very good place the drs and nurses are so kind and warm hearted and very good manner. I couldn't of asked for a better hospital for my daughter
I know we all think the kids is amazing but that hasn't been my experience lately. Took my son in with seizures their only aim was to get information so they could report it and they didn't seem to care about the seizures themselves. Always treated by Resident and not a senior staff member. Not a Wonder! I believe that the quality has gone down and now they have a campaign to raise funds for a new hospital I'm sorry not donating this year!
I stayed at SickKids when I was 12 for a whole year, they even brought a pdoctor from McMaster to help me and it did. Thank you for saving my life.
Hands down, the nicest hospital I've ever been to in Canada. I feel like all other hospitals can learn so much from Sick Kids. Bedside manner: On point. Volunteers visiting, and keeping kids entertained. How quick service is. How you're taken seriously and not treated like you're wasting the staff's time. Just... There's not even any words. I'm so proud to know such a foundation exists in Toronto. My family has spent a lot of time in hospitals over the years. I wish they got the same level of care and respect that Sick Kids gives. Kudos to all the staff. All the way to the cleaning crew. Everyone is just soooooo pleasant. World class team. ????????????
Seriously this hospital is the island of hope for the future of Canadian health care. It is extremely clean . The staff are extremely friendly. I simply cannot express how good this hospital is. I have been reading the negative reviews and they are disgusting. People complaining about having to wait a few hours? People complaining about a doctor taking too long to check an ear or put an IV in. Go to another hospital PLEASE! they don't need your BS there and you will also see how crummy other hospitals are for children. Also please donate all your money here. It goes a long way and they are very accountable with it. I have checked and donate as much and as often as I can. Thank you sick kids for always being fantastic!
Very nice people here. Thank you for all the help.
Friendly staff and really try there best!
Very Nice Staff
They're the best in this world
Understaffed but good hospital
A great hospital. Excellent quality of care.
Very passionate doctors and nurses! Thanks for all your dedicated hard work!
For a hospital that claims to provide the ‘very best service’ for sick kids the hospital FAILED us to the full extent. We had a requisition for a fetus MRI of the brain that was very time sensitive per our doctor and accordingly we were referred/sent to Sick Kids. Here’s the various checkpoints where the administration of this hospital completely and utterly FAILED us. 1. We had to chase down the hospital for the confirmation of our appointment as they never reached out to us for days past the time we were told we would be contacted. 2. We showed up to the hospital 45 minutes early to ensure we are on time and ready. Upon arrival we were tossed around to 6 different offices/labs within the hospital BY THE HOSPITAL STAFF before they were able to figure out who is doing the MRI at which point we were now 15 minutes late as we had to search this hospital for an entire hour. 3. It took 25 minutes for the receptionist that had already seen us standing at the counter to acknowledge our presence and give us the necessary forms to fill which she FAILED as she provided us with the incorrect forms and so we had to redo the process from scratch. 4. Post the MRI we were advised the results would be sent to our doctor within 3-5 business days. On day 8 and after 10 UNANSWERED voicemails with relevant staff or departments (from business day 6 and 7) we were finally able to get a hold of someone at this hospital. 5. The staff informed us (Claimed) that the results had been sent back to our doctor after a single business day only for her to retract and swallow her word and say “Actually they’re still here as we didn’t have your doctor’s contact info” .. Now we’re not sure how they could not have this info when every requisition form sent out has the Doctor’s office info attached to it .. or why anyone at this hospital could’ve taken many different steps to rectify this between business day 1 to 8 where our results were simply sitting on someone’s desk. 6. The staff noted above refused to take the doctor’s info and requested WE contact our doctor so they can then contact Sick Kids and provide their info AGAIN .. talk about Bureaucracy .. Big banners hanging in the hospital say how they’ve collected over 600 million dollars and yet it seems they don’t have a dime worth of an idea as to how this delicate business needs to be administered….
Excellent care. Seems easy to navigate as well, which isn't always true of hospitals!
Amazing People
here is like my home I had my heart surgery done hear and they were soooooo nice and I got my hydrocephalus , asthma and micro veils plolace managed here . The only thing is the elavators are really fast when you go up and when you go down it drops .
get well. Cause im well
I know people have their opinions reading the reviews and I will must say as a proud supporter of sick kids they are the best hospital with amazing doctors outstanding staff and the care these people have a just phenomenal. We have been a supporter since 88 for charity work raising donations and giving personal time back as thanks and a father with a child that has her issues I must say hats off to you for the jobs you all do. Thank you for caring and being genuine from the heart. From myself and our Company at CAREY Limousine Canada & CMG Events thank you and my God bless all of you and the children you help....
Just help friends to call for results. Customer service is super bad, I have never experienced this kind of service before. Cause I only know their limited information,I can't explain it very clearly. The staff keep saying 'OMG!' 'I don't understand you' with unpatience since I said first sentence. Super unprofessional
Amazing staff. Great opportunity to donate and volunteer.
Only had one experience with this Hospital. My son was mis - diagnosed by his pediatrician and thank god sick kids figured things out. BRAVO to all the hard working dr's nursea and staff!
I like sick kids hospital
There are some outstanding doctors and health practitioners that work at Sick Kids. Although like any other job industry, there are also individuals who should not be working here and part of the problem is the regulatory boards for doctors and nurses who protect the identity of practitioners who have had malpractice issues above protecting the public patients in letting them know which health practitioners have had past history issues. Also, the two stars is for all those sick kid fundraisers on the streets who hassle many people for donations, including my family. As a world class hospital, please stop damaging your image by contracting out to aggressive third party companies that hassle people on the street for donations.
I am working as a DI fellow there..... Great experience
The best hospital for kids I have ever visited.
We been there lots of time And you can have an mri
All the nurses are angles they listen and do the right with kids ...god bless
5 star from me to all the staff and service in the Sickkids hospital ????
After a bad bike injury, my young son was transferred to Sick Kids from another hospital in the GTA with Ornge's Trauma Team. When he arrived, we were whisked into a room with every Specialist possible, who each took turns checking him over from head to toe. We were then put in a comfortable private room in the ER department while he went through extensive testing to rule out any internal bleeding or head/neck/spine injuries. Throughout the entire process, the wonderful and kind doctor and nurses kept us constantly updated on what was being done and why, and gave us the results quickly. They also kept us comfortable with heated blankets while we slept overnight next to our son's bed. When he was finally cleared and discharged (with a couple of new toys from the team in hand), my son replied "this is the best hospital in the world!" Thank you, Sick Kids, for easing all of our fears and making my child feel so special and cared for. You truly are one-of-a-kind, and I feel so grateful to have you close to home.
I'd say this is one of the most kind and caring facilities out there. When I came into sickkids at 11 years old, my first appointment brought anxiety and dread, like most patients. The Orthopedic surgeon was amazing, showed me my xrays and explained my conditon in a way I could understand, and told me about the options. I'm now 13 years old and I am almost completely Scoliosis Brace free! I would just like to say thank you to everyone who's taken care of me and made me feel comfortable even when I thought my hopes were shattered. This hospital is amazing many ways, accessible parking, elevators, stairs, coffee shops and plently of staff and others who can guide you around. Thank you so much SickKids. I would probably be having issues walking if they didn't catch it when they did. :)
Loved everything about our experience at Sick Kids emergency. The staff love children and it shows. The nurses and doctors are amazing and know how to put your mind at ease. They have games, toys, and wi-fi available to help pass the time and are constantly communicating with you. After a very stressful day all I can think about is how amazing that hospital is. The volunteers even played with my daughter while I grabbed something to eat. The MRI was decorated like a forest wonderland with animals which my daughter thought was so cool and she was able to watch a movie during the whole proceedure! Sick kids is a world class children’s hospital. Thank you for all you do!
friendly staff , petty good facility
Exceptional Care. 5 stars.
This review is not towards the hospital itself, the system or the hospital staff. This review is towards the security guards that runs this hospital like frustrated cops. These security guards are harassing individuals, people that donate to the foundation on a yearly basis. I have no idea why the hospital had to change security service to Garda (G4S) from Palladini. Security guard told me that I can't park here. I told him a parked car is when the driver leaves the car. But if the driver is in the car, it's considered standing. Just like the street by law, "no parking" and "no standing". Because of this issue I'm not donating anything to this hospital.
The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) is recognized as one of the world’s foremost paediatric health-care institutions and is Canada’s leading centre dedicated to advancing children’s health through the integration of patient care, research and education. They do great work to improve the life of many children that are seen here.
Sick Kids Hospital is one of the best Hospitals in the world for Kids. The nurses and doctors are outstanding. My daughter was admitted couple of times and they followed up with me to make sure she is doing great. I love the environment , really friendly staff. I would suggest those who complain about the hospital should volunteer there to understand the pressure and when dealing with kids. Emergency are busy all over , one should understand that the staff are doing their best to help our kids. Everyone of the kids is special and all the parents don't want them to suffer which is why we should cooperate and assist the staff to make things easier. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I had never been in Sick Kids until a good friend's child was admitted a short while ago. I am a long time nurse so have seen many hospital environments for adults mostly but also for children. My first impression was that the open, light filled lobby gives you an overall view of the upper floors in a quiet yet non intimidating way. The large windows in the upper halls give the children a place to see life outside while they recover. The nursing care appears to be mostly by younger nurses who could benefit from more help with interaction with parents. Their time, which I believe is overwhelmed with large patient assignments, seems to leave little time to reinforce parent/child care. Parents can help with ambulation, elimination, feedings, ROM....they just need reassurance.
Best place to bring your kids! just a little long wait but your kids are in good hands
The best hospital in the world!
Great hospital
They saved my granddaughter February '18. Terrible car accident 6 kids. Thanks
Excellent service
Excellent service and treatment.
I have worked there as an RN for many years. The service and quality of care has improved over the years. Much better than it used to be. Very high standards. I love it as a place to work and the challenges and satisfaction that come from helping the sick kiddies. Working with the public is sometimes difficult, the parents are stressed and anxious, and not always the most pleasant. The kids are usually easier to deal with than their parents. And in the emergency department, it's the most difficult and stressful. M.
Thanks to all. Great caring. Only it takes long time in emergency.
an amazing hospital for young children, heard lots of good things, and have been there, very neat hospital
Best place for kids
Absolutely the best hospital I have ever encountered. My eye had a very nasty infection, and when I went to another hospital, I got many "OH MY GOD!"'s and wrinkled noses. This hospital, the nurses just reassured that I would be fine and they honestly calmed me down by many, many levels. The food is amazing, the nurses and doctors care and are so, so, SO kind. What else can I ask for? :)
Just happened to be here for my son for the past 3 days. The urgency, proffessionalism and overall positive attitude from all levels of staff makes this place #1. Truly world class experience. What an example put forth by Canada to the entire world.
Oh how I miss this hospital, I have nothing but good memories of it. Now I'm stuck with St Michaels with their rude staff and terrible service.
All the times I was in sick kids I loved I am half blind in my left eyed and they had doctors to help in any way they could
So professional nurses and doctors .
Great service, one of the best hospitals for children in the whole world.
Nice atmosphere for kids, clean place , good temperature (not freezing as in some hospitals) service not bad, I wish will be better !
This hospital is the best for kids and teens as well. I have been here multiple times before and the staff are so caring and quick to respond to any issues. The wait times can be a bit long but it's worth it in the end. Highly recommend!
What an incredible experience. I don't have time to write all the good things I could say about the staff and the care this hospital provides. Doctors were excellent, available, open and did their best to be informative and helpful. Facilities were well maintained, clean, and spacious. Lots and lots of hand washing, very able and careful nursing staff. Very good procedures for managing privacy and space and visitation. Respectful and courteous too. cf. we dealt with Pediatric ICU, Neonatal ICU, Surgery, Metabolics, Genetics and Transplant teams. All excellent and friendly.
Excellent services.
My friend whos a young teen was in there for OD, and she was barely attended to and wasnt checked up on as often as she should have been.
My son and daughter were admitted. Well funded hospital.
always will donate!
Best children hospital in Canada. Amazing and caring doctors, nurses, and support staff. My son goes there regularly and we are very thankful for this hospital.
(Translated) One of the best children's hospitals in the world Extreme care and attention, all services are available at the hospital There are several restaurants and cafes (Tim Hortons, Star Box) Defective location in the heart of downtown. Also, the difficulty of obtaining a car parking during working hours, despite the presence of four levels allocated for parking Thanks to the staff and the staff of this hospital (Original)
The only Best and the last resort for sick kids in Canada. This hospital is best suited for kids as they feel comfortable once they enter this hospital. Each and every staff in Sickkids are kids friendly. kids are given colour pencils and sketches while waiting to meet the doctor. Parking is available. Monday to Friday its 20$ for whole day(you can also get multiple entry pass). Saturday and Sunday its 7$ for full day. Lobby floor has kids gift area to buy toys. There is a Starbucks in lobby area. All superspeciality available. All Doctors, nurses, staffs are very friendly especially kids friendly. Each and every wall and corners are designed in such a way that kids feel comfortable . I really love this place and had a very amazing experience. I came there for an emergency situation and hospital staffs handle amazingly. I thank everyone at Sickkids from the core of my heart . Thank you so much
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone apart of this hospital. I would like to thank this hospital for saving my life and more importantly saving my brother's life. No words can express my gratitude. The Hospital for Sick Children is surrounded by angels. God bless everyone there and/or just passing through.
World class children's hospital. Compassionate care with top notch services. Be prepared to wait patiently in-between services when you have multiple appointments.
Was directed to an emergency care, ironically wait time was 7 hours. Not sure what is the meaning of emergency. Worst experience.
Doctors and staff are Superheroes!!
Everyone involved was courteous and professional, but as is the case with most health care facilities, there is always a wait.
Oncology and Hematology on the 8th floor is filled with caring and professional people. From registration, to the helpers doing the crafts, to the Fellows and Doctors. Every time we visit with my daughter we are amazed. Some people get frustrated by waiting for a couple hours. I know this seems like an inconvenience, but consider the fact that you walk in here, receive care and medications, your kid does a craft and plays some games, and you leave without a bill. Put it all in perspective when the frustration sets in!
Could not say enough good about that place. When my children needed them, they were there. Thanks also to a great doctor, Dr. Janette Milne.
Greatest place to bring a sick child, the staff go out of their way for you.
First class building, but parking in downtown Toronto is painful.
If you get a referral here, you might as well just ask for them to send you somewhere else. Every single time i've been referred here for my mental health and i've never heard back from them. Useless
I am greatful for everything at Sick Kids
V.good service, but long waiting time.
An amazing facility. And the research is top notch.
I've been going here since I was born, since I have a heart condition. Throughout the years I've made many friends and two best friends that are staff, I have only two more years to go until I go to a different hospital and I know I'm gonna cry on that last day. This hospital is like no other, everyone is sweet and friendly. They genuinely care about your well being. My condition is 1 in 18 million and they went out of their way when I was little to find me someone with the same condition as me so I didn't feel alone. I feel sort of blessed in a way to have my heart problem because I got to experience the magic of this hospital and believe me I wouldn't be alive without all their help. I love this hospital so much and I honestly can't say enough good things about Sick Kids. Love the staff, the atmosphere and experiences.
At first I was confused about the type of hospital this was, but then I read the name and it suddenly became very clear! All joking aside, this is a great hospital with a well trained, compassionate staff.
Always a 2 hour wait for appointments (ours was for 3:20 & we were asked to be here early - 15 minutes minimum) we have yet to be seen.
My daughter was admitted twice to this hospital and every time we went through the emergency it was the best experience ever. She would get assessed and we waited only 10-15 min to see a doctor. Because she had to be admitted and we got a room. That took a little longer. But the waiting room are still great themselves. All of the nurses and doctor we’ve seen here and interacted where amazing. Especially since my daughter is terrified of anyone with a medical mask on lol. Prior to coming to sick kids we would try to go to north York. And that was the most terrible experience since they don’t specialize in kids. It isn’t much their priority. We’ve waited three hours without anyone coming to see us. Now if we are worried we drive all the way downtown from Thornhill to ensure she gets the best attentive care possible. Sick kids is truly an amazing institution.
I got to the merge at 9 AM and I had to leave without seeing a doctor at 2 PM. The doctor who was supposed to see us was walking up-and-down the hall and I overheard his conversation talking to a travel agent trying to book a vacation for him and his wife.. This conversation was almost an hour and a 1/2 long. An absolute waste of time and a huge disrespect to all the parents who were waiting there with their kids for 6 hours plus. I can't remember what the doctor's name was but I do know he was an Egyptian doctor because I understood what he was saying and he spoke Arabic and I do too.
Cardiac Critical Care nurses here are the best!!
ENT Dr Sharon Cushing is great.
as a big reliable hospital can you please stop asking mom and dad stay over night only because nurse saying" we are short of nurses" we feel pressure for that, if we have choice we wouldn't go there and leave our kid over night. however I leave my wife at hospital more than 10 hours a day at day time. we all get stuff to do , I totally understand that night time you may not have enough people to working , but please talk to your HR and add more people. we now think if we don't take your advise you may not doing anything to my poor kid thank you for your work
Back in May 2013 me and Sam we're there to get our check up and I went back there again for my eye drops.
I can't believe they take two months to give an appointment for each specialty. The health system doesn't works !!!! and this hospital take advantage of that, using you as a guinea pig, it stinks!
My son Jasper Graydon was cared for by Sick kids and I believe sick kids is the leader in pediatric care in Canada .I am for ever in the debt of Sick Kids and my family have nothing put outstanding things to say about them
Each time my daughter has been there it has been amazing. The nurses are great.parking is a nightmare.
Great staff
The Best and only hospital I would take my daughters. Spent alot of time when our triplet girls were babies. If it wasnt for them we may not have our beautiful girls today. They are 25 Now and beautiful. Thank you to all who work there.
Great hospital
8 hours still no doctor, find some where else, the worst hospital in Ontario.
Bring your kids to this hospital this is the best hospital in Canada for children
Amazing hospital with amazing staff.
Worst emergency hospital, took my son there alot of people suggested I go there so I get the best care possible. My son has been sick for 2 months with high fevers we basically gave the run down on what hes been dealing with. The doctor doesn't even bother to do blood work,x rays or urine testing. She said you have nothing to worry about it,s just a virus. 2 days later the fevers still are going on and he's screaming at night with pains. I take him to our locals hospital finding out he still has pneumonia and had to stay over night for treatment. Thank you sick kids hospital for caring so much.
Lots of options for food, kids being help and great staff.
Great experience while working here✌️
Our time at Sick Kids for fetal cardiology was a seamless experience from start to finish. The contact made with me to arrange appointments was professional and kind. The nurses were excellent, even reminding me to get a bite to eat, etc. The staff at Starbucks were positive and encouraging. Our doctor, Dr. Yalin Lin was sensational and we've shared our detailed, positive feedback directly with her. We are so grateful to Sick Kids for a stellar experience during a very scary time.
This place does the most amazing work, thank you for all you do!! You helped my friends daughter, she is alive and thriving because of this hospital!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
All doctors and staff are nice. It's a really great place to go for your child's health. I totally recommend this place. But I really hope that they will raise enough money for a new building, because the one now is showing its age.
The best!!!! wouldn't go anywhere else for my children. Very Professional.
This hospital is an AMAZING hospital for many reasons. One of them is that they make the children feel comfortable and they engage them in many activities which is a beautiful learning experience.
It is a clean hospital , however the waiting time is too long but in general I could give the top star over all.
This hospital is ENORMOUS. It has a children-like theme surrounding it which welcomes kids everywhere. The Doctors are upright professional and skilled- not to mention also Kind and caring. The food court is huge too :)
Its clean, Doctors follow up and discuss with other departments for patients situation so they cover all possibil diseases. Amazing Nurses, kind, fast, they know how to deal with kids, they choosen to work here because they love there job.
SickKids is located in downtown Toronto at 555 University Avenue, between Gerrard and Elm streets. The hospital has two main entrances – 555 University Avenue and 170 Elizabeth Street. Very good children health care????
This place is amazing. Everyone there was super helpful and doctors explain everything so clear. We're lucky to have this kind of hospital.
my daughter was operated in this hospital and everyone behaved excellent with her and with me that I stayed to take care of her, it took her a long time to attend her but I understand it because they have too many patients, that's why I started giving my monthly donation for the new sickkids hospital , and I invite you to do the same, the first level attention we received in this place was invaluable, I am really very grateful to you, my daughter was 5 years old, and they took the appendix, greetings and blessings to all who make it possible that this place exists
Best place ever!!
I wouldn't be here writing this without this hospital. Thank you.
Best children's hospital in Canada!
Profiteering by misleading patients
Cool Elevators
I went for need, everything was perfect.. The best doctors of the city in my opinion
Great
staff are really great
Yes
Horrible Customer Service Call Centre. How come nobody ever picks up the phone let alone being put on hold for 10 hours? You get so much donation yet the least you can do is improve the call centre department.
Horrible inpatient experience. Treated my 10 month old son like he didnt matter. They made us fast him for 4 days for a CT scan that never happened. I'm so disappointed in the staff and care my son received.
I have been there many times for my son's treatment and every time i found the staff negligent and rude. And they forcefully discharge us from the hospital even though my son's condition was not any better. Right now my son is again admitted in sick kids and the staff is so negligent that my son detached the connection of IV line and drip and no one knew that for hours ,i was the one who discovered that and informed them when i visited him today.
This is the home of motivation, strength for adults like myself. Watching kids smile and seeing what they go through will change your life. Everybody should get involved in some way. Sickkids is amazing you need to go see it for yourself.
Excellent staff and service.
Good management, brilliant staff from doctors to janitors, specially nurses staff is amazing , all facilities r there.
The staff and volunteers at SickKids are out of this world! Empathy and genuine love for kids and their well being is all what they do day in and day out. Bravery beads for every procedure a child endures. Multiple play areas to keep children engaged. Most importantly the quality and expertise in the service we received is second to none. I am very thankful and grateful to all the staff that helped us in 6A to include: Adam, Aurora, Katy, Megan, Meghan, Linh, Dr. Lebel, Dr. Zaarour, Dr. Chia Wei You are the best and keep up the great work!
We came to the emergency with our 10 months old baby. We waited for about 8 hours to see a doctor. My daughter was in a very poor state and still they had us, and probably everyone else in the emergency waiting for an unacceptable amount of time. It can be very traumatic for young babies to have to be away for their homes and also separated from their parents. Yes, be ready to have to leave your wive or husband alone in the ER because the only allow one person. It's exaggerated and draconian. In the end a doctor came into the room and after a few minutes said that the bleeding with stop by itself and that there is nothing that can do. Go home. The board should revise that specially for fully vaccinated people.
(Translated) Fantastic, awesome, awesome. There should be a lot more such institutions, people with such attitude, commitment, technical knowledge and human empathy. (Original) Phantastisch, genial, super. Es sollte viel mehr solche Instititionen, Menschen mit solcher Einstellung, Engagement, dem fachlichen Wissen und dem menschlichen Einfühlungsvermögen geben.
(Translated) A good, clean, popular Hospital for sick children. The atmosphere is friendly, the doctors are wonderful experts. (Original) Хороший, чистый, популярный Госпиталь для больных детей. Атмосфера дружелюбная, доктора чудесные специалисты.
Well. I was there about a year ago because I hurt my back. I was raced in an ambulance to Sick Kids. When we got there the nurses were dealing with me right away. which was amazing. They were all super nice and good in the ER and they were there to help the second anyone needed it. The downside was the food court was closed as it was late a night. The only thing that was open was Starbucks. Then a few month later I broke my arm. No ambulance this time. My parents drove me. We got there and the line and the wait for the ER was insane. We waited over 6 hours to get in and get a cast. by that point we were soooo tired. Then we were put into a room. where the nurses took 1 hour to come. Then we need X - Rays that took 1 more hour. Then we need them to check the images. that took 1 more hour. Then we needed to get the cast that was the fastest thing only 30 minutes and total that trip was over 13 hours of staying in Sick Kids. Then we went back again to go to a different floor for a Colonoscopy. That took a hugeeeee amount of time. it was all day. we kept waiting and waiting and waiting. then when it was all finished. everyone on the floor was gone. and I was the last one there. it almost felt as if I was forgotten. but after all Sick Kids is really only good for the ER> if you wanna wait there.
This place is supposed to be heaven for little kids and it is nowhwre close to it . First off the first nurse that saw my daughter of three months old (filipino or korean looking one) gave my daugjter of three months old advil without asking to put her temperature down. She rushed us out after the visit and we had to dress our daughter in the hall waiting for the doctor to see her . None of the stuff looked old enough to give me peace of mind for taking my sick kids there . I am 38 and i sure was older than any of the stuff there . The doctor was looking at my daughters ear for infection for 15 min scraping her ear and my daughter crying and screeming didnt bother her at all . I guess it dont matter much when its someone elses kid . Last but not least dont be afraid to speak up if you see something that bothers you . Its your child and how they take care of them must be first priority . God Bless.
I don,t like all the mail I get from this site The Sick kids Lottery. I know its a good cause but I told them not to mail,me anymoe brochures as it cloggs the mail up and I don,t have the time to always read them. If I wanted a lottery ticket i will go directly to the source. One doesn,t need anymore junk type of mail we have too much as it is.
This is definitely the best hospital in the world for kids.
Thank you for your service to Canada.
Really nice people ???? Had 3 surgeries no problem ????
Waited for more than 5 hrs but still didn't got to see a doctor. My son has a cough for more than a month so we decided to bring him here..
Waiting for more than 5 hours with a 7 week baby, no doctor yet. I don't know how people call it the best hospital.
Very friendly
The sushi place at the food court is really good and food is fresh. The food court can get very busy but there it is big and most likely you will find a place to sit.
Everyone in here is awesome. So friendly and took so much good care of our new born. We are from st Catharines and was so helpful and treated us like family. My baby is doing so much better since she arrived. Thank you everyone!!! only part that sucks my truck don't fit in the parking area had to find a alternate parking for my pick up. So if you own a truck I suggest you find someone with a car.
This hospital destroys families. It has been proven they have lied about drug tests to destroy families. They are very evil people and I hope karma gets them.
These doctors and nurses literally force me to kill my child without even giving her 24 hours to see if she will come around after her Surgery. then the next day call me in to do the same to my son which was her twin brother. I said no and he still alive. Someone needs to do something about this place
I will forever be indebted to the doctors, nurses and staff of sick kids hospital. Thank you all so much for the compassion and dedication I witnessed while my sick kid was with you. For all those who support this facility with donations and time, your gifts are a blessing.
Great hospital
The name says it all. They've been doing such amazing things for years and years. Wonderful staff everywhere. Kind people that care about what they do. Help is always here. Comfortable place to feel at ease and well taken care of. The folks who work here go above and beyond with their care. They always have something cool going on too. One of the if not the greatest hospitals out there.
Took my son there for some tests to his heart and lungs. The service and staff were excellent. The facility was modern and very clean and the food court is very ample
Excellent hospital, but bit too small space for what they are.
very friendly staff
The nurses are lovely, doctor that we had was dry. Didn't explain why he was doing any of the procedures.
The best possible medical care for your child period . I truly believe that heart and soul . Thank you .
We got the best treatment for the kids, in North America.
This is the best children's hospital in Ontario. The neurosurgery and MRI departments take the time to calm children or families and explains what's happening in understandable ways. I will be forever endebted to the neurosurgeon who found my brain tumour.
What can you say about the hospital that saves your daughters life. It's the best!!! With great staff all around.
my son did lung operations on Feb 2018 successfully.all the stafs are hard working and helpfull even after discharge from the hospital we got telephone follow up every day.i recommend that families should choose this hospital for their children.
Terrible , like all medicine in Canada! Diagnosed ear infection when a baby has a flu. After flu baby has a joint inflammation and doctor said that she's pretending! !! Baby 2 years old!!!!
The doctor was great. The emergency waiting room on the other hand was closer to a third world hospital than what should be standard in Canada. It was filthy, too hot and crammed full of people, so much so that there were people waiting in the hallways. This does little to help with anxiety levels in the children.
Been here for myself a few too many times, unfortunately. Great patient rooms and awesome service though!
very cooperative and committed to their job.
God forbid you ever find your children in need of a hospital, but thank god for this place if you do.
My kid loves the healthcare providers...most of them are super kind, patient and friendly.
Sick kids hospital thank you so much for your such a good care. Professional , amazing team...thanks
My daughter had 41 degree fever and we waited for 4 hours. It's crazy. I can't believe. If it called EMERGENCY why people wait 5,6 hours? I think emergency it means urgent, immediately help .
I came here because a bee stung me I the throat I'm a kid btw the nurses were nice
Lady at the blood works clinic was nasty. Went there on December 9, around 12PM; she was checking in people but the tone in her voice was condescending, talked back to the patients and had no reason to be rude. Ruined my day after leaving the clinic.
One of the best in the world Thanks for all that you guys do
Excellent staff.
Me being 14 and having gone in the middle of COVID-19, I have nothing but good things to say about this hospital. I went straight into emergency care and got a nurse only after waiting for about 5 minutes. After the nurse gave me some medication and checked my vital signs she left, after waiting for about half an hour the doctor comes in and starts diagnosing me. All the staff that I encountered were amazing and super friendly. I really appreciated the paper slip that we go telling us "If you get these symptoms, come back to the hospital. Overall I have nothing bad to say about this hospital, and will be donating money whenever I get the chance.
The premier hospital for kids in Canada. Excellent service, facilities and care.
I remember this place
I get to see God and Angels here.
Awesome hospital with the best staff. Everytime I've gone there they've fixed our issue. Best doctors in the world.
Halp save life's
Worst hospital i ever found they keep u waiting too many hours whole night
I was only passing through. I did notice long waits long lines, referrals to other hospitals, waaaaaaay early appointments……… just saying. Socialist is with some drawbacks.
Took care of our little one during the busy holiday season like it was their own. Best nurses and surgeons in the country.
If you make us wait for hours in emergency situation than why is that emergency department for? Every time when we go there it was so terrible wait times. Kids always gets suffer a lot.
Very bad service after waiting almost 4h until 4am at the emergency, the doctor didn’t know what’s going on exactly with our baby and asked us to take him to our doctor family. And when we were dressing our baby the doctor asked us to do that outside very rude. We will never go there again.
Thank you for the incredible care and consideration when we brought our son into your emergency ward. An outstanding hospital run by outstanding human beings.
Couldn't ask for a better Hospital, did open Heart Surgery on Grandson at 1week old. Amazing Thank you for Saving braydens life.
The greatest hospital in world. Took my infant son to emergency and services is out of the world. Nurses and doctors are all awesome and detailed with their diagnosis. The staff comes around and asked every so often if we need anything or a break. Several doctors came to question us then ww notes to make sure they are all on the same page. All equipment is state of the art. Don't take any chances with your child taken them to Sick Kids if they need it.
The nurses and doctors were so nice even though it took a time they did there best and made me feel safe
Best in class hospital
Long wait!! But very good services!!
I can say this hospital and doctors and all staffs are one the best hospital in world. Treatment is best, staffs are very friendly and kind.
I love this place! it was a good experience! It feels almost like home when I talk to the nurses. Loved coming here for some of my appointments. Defiently my favourite hospital ever. 5 stars, thank you for all the help! Couldn't have done it without you guys!
Great Staff. Learned a lot during my placement here. Gained lots of experience.
Went to sickkids for 16 years and loved it.
They are great on survival for children and take the job seriously.
i dont know what happened to no kid being turned away ? my son has scoliosis on top of a lot of other disabilities but the ortho clinic sends him away because his back inst more than 25% twisted ? your kidding me right
My daughter has JIA and we've been in and out of sick kids since her diagnosis in 2018. We've always had great interactions with the doctors and nurses. Everyone always helps put my daughters anxiety at ease. I am grateful for this hospital.
Shame on hospitals for collecting fees for parking when families are already going through a traumatic time.
After 66 years of association with 1 of the 2 best children's hospitals in the world I am deeply saddened that my Grandfather Dr Alan Brown who ran the hospital for over 30 years is no longer even recognized anywhere nor his co invention of pablum with Drake and Tisdall NOR the fact the he cut infant mortality in 1/2 as promised by making the premier pass pasteurization of milk into law . The royalties from pablum were not kept by any of the inventors but rather funded the first research facility upon my birth in 1954 . The Motto was 100 years of Caring, but now appears to be 100 years of lost history
Everyone here is fantastic! Wouldn't take my child anywhere else
Wonderful hospital, the doctors and nurses are great always there for the family as a whole.
shout out reg goose. the staff here treats you right, the menu is diverse, good hospital.
went here before with one of my friends she got a disease (not deadly) so me and her family all came to cheer her up . there is a Starbucks,Tims ,toy shop, and a food court with lots of different kinds of food there is also . my go to is the asian food at the start of the food court
Thanks for being out there !
simply the best for the little ones! you want peace of mind go to sick kids, it's worth the trip.
What an incredible experience. I don't have time to write all the good things I could say about the staff and the care this hospital provides. Doctors were excellent, available, open and did their best to be informative and helpful. Facilities were well maintained, clean, and spacious.
For the kids
Slow service
Amazing staff. Fantastic facility.
Brought our son into emergency because primary care physician said he had symptoms consistent with MIS-C/Kawasaki and that he needed to go right away. Doctors and nurses were all very kind, and blood tests and other diagnostics were turned around very quickly. (He's fine, thank goodness.) Two things stood out: We saw two nurses and two doctors, and they all took the time to explain things to us and answer all of our many questions. (Both my son and I are big-time question-askers.) Also, we could not leave our room b/c of certain protocols having to do with the symptoms, but a nurse went out to get books and drawing materials that my wife brought by for us, and also picked up our order from the hospital Starbucks. Overall, a great experience -- I mean, as far as emergency room visits go.
VERY DISAPPOINTED by how they run their door to door donations. They came to where i work and are very pushy on how they get their donations. They started asking for my info without even telling me that they were starting the process of billing me. They make it very awkward for you to say not now, when they already started the process. I had no problem donating but not at work. I asked for a pamphlet, in hopes that i can donate later on, but nope very pushy and kept insisting that other members in my workplace already donate, so why not me ? Anyways, very disappointed on their tactics.
Very comfortable and beautiful hospital for kids
Amazing hospital. We are lucky to have such a great hospital available for our children.
I have witnessed SickKids providing the best medical care I could imagine for kids. The professional ethics of most nurses, the quality of services, and above all the seriousness doctors put into the care is absolutely top class. I was a designated caregiver for about a month sleeping right by the bedside for the whole time. The way different departments are coordinated and how the system functions is unbelievable. I couldn't ask for any better service.
Its best for the kids.
I was in with my son for surgery. I'm giving this a horrible rating because my son started crying she wouldnt even let me try to calm him down myself. And there is no where for parents to sleep and keep there stuff like my son is 21 weeks and I cant even stay with him that is stupid. They wouldnt even let me change his diaper.
You should look up their policy regarding child suicide
Trying the phone call from morning 8:30 am but no luck. Their mail box is full and not sure how to reach them out besides mentioned ways. There must be some resources to facilitate the requests.
My family has had an amazing experience with this hospital. The abundance of specialty doctors, specialist, nurses and others really make this hospital unique. The doctors take their time to explain their findings and to discuss treatment plans with no hidden agendas.
NEVER donate money to Sick Kids Hospital. If you want to help kids, pick one, and donate to their GoFundMe page. Do not add money to Sick Kids hospital revenue. Also one of the worst places to work, if you value your mental health and sanity, stay far away from this place.
Knowledgeable staff and doctors!
The atrium is very beautiful and the cafeteria food is delicious. Some doctors are nicer and do better work than others.
Best hospital they take care very well my nephew was there admit. I saw their services was awesome
Thank you sfor every think
The best!
I am generally picky about the quality of care provided to my kids...I was satisfied with SickKids services. High level of professionalism observed in Nurses and Doctors. They deserve being one of the best pediatric hospitals in the World. 5 Stars . God bless.
One of the best hospitals in the world specializing in care for children only
Best hospital
this is an ugly stupid hospital i would rather die cuz of this
excellent facility and staff
In the beginning, our family experience there was great. Lately, all I can do is shake my head, and wonder what has happened to the staffs. For heaven's sake, where's your sense of humanity, why aren't you doing your jobs.
God Bless everyone working there, they never stop smiling
Pathetic hospital, why they call it emergency when there is hours of wait, my tax money being waisted on supporting services in Toronto that are useless. Better have each city its own kids hospital rather than wasting my tax on maintaining such pathetic services in Toronto
Very good place, was a patient here a long while ago. Great staff and great decor!
26 years ago my son was born with a cleft lip and palate. As young parents we were lost in the many bits of advice we got upon his birth. 3 days later, I called Sick Kids and spoke to a rep there. We were given sound advice immediate consultation. The experience working with the team of doctors and specialists at Sick Kids over the past number of years has been AWESOME!!! They allayed our fears, addressed our concerns and gave us all the best care possible. I cannot thank them enough.
sickids is amazing place to be!!!!
Recently witnessed a security staff named Karlie Robinson (glasses, heavier-set, tattoo behind ears) go off on a massive, angry, profanity-filled rant in one of the hallways to another security staff about she's sick of working here. This was in a place in the hospital where kids could literally hear and see her temper tantrum. I was disgusted. Luckily I spoke to another staff who was kind enough to give me her full name and said she has a history of angry meltdowns and a horrible attitude. The staff said multiple people have a problem with her behaviour and are trying to do something about it, hence why the staff was so willing to give me her name. You're supposed to be a security staff, your job is to PROTECT the kids that are staying in the hospital. I certainly don't feel safe having my child be "protected" by security as dangerous as she clearly was. I'll definitely be filing a complaint once my child is out of here.
Oink. I swallowed a toonie and they told me to go to GI.
Not the happy experience the TV commercials would have you believe! My daughter did not receive adequate care, during her stay at Sick Kids. Likely because we waited more than 12 hours to see someone other than a Resident! The neglect continued when we were transferred to Holland Bloorview. 3 months after discharge from both facilities, our daughter was diagnosed with a brain injury. We have yet to access care/treatment for the brain injury because Sick Kids and Holland Bloorview are the only facilities in the GTA who offer such care/treatment. Both facilities maintain there is nothing wrong!
I came in to the ER because my 2 month old baby has liquid in his brain pushing on certain areas.. and they have take Over 6 hours now to even look at him! When my family doctor told me to rush here and get a MRI immediately
Top quality hospital!
It is a well known hospital to look after children and their ailments.
After waiting for more than 4 hours, the doctor came told us, he is not a Orthopedist, my five month old is not emergency. He can't get another doctor and cannot refer to spcalist. I know all patients use emergency entrance on Saturday and Sunday, but it does not mean only emergency patients are accepted! If so, why didn't you tell us during registration? Worest pediatrician I have ever seen. If you don't know how to do it, at least try to ask someone who can! Don't just tell the sick kid go back to their family doctor cause it is not an emergency.
Such a bad experience waste of time and energy specially with little babies ….. and it’s not completely the hospitals fault i feel our government needs to work on the protocol for emergency of hospitals
I’m one of those people joining to the other. I’m complaining about the health service in this coI try. Third class service. More them five hours waiting time to see a doctor. The health system in Canada is broken. Weak up Canadians!!!
Top surgeons and friendly staff
It's amazing!
There for 6 hours with no help ,supervision
One of my favorite hospitals
An extended family of doctors, nurses, and staff . Great care , passion, and teaching skills. Thank you for all your support and help. May God bless you all.
Good service for all kids.
Sept 26, 5h+ wait time.. not seen by a doctor yet.
Its understandable to not have a bed for every admission without a long wait in the emergency department, but my daughter needed a blood product (urgent treatment) and couldn't get it because it's only administered on the ward. What kind of a quaternary care centre doesn't have emerge nurses who've been trained to give blood products??? Making a child wait for a hospital bed is one thing- having a sick child is inconvenient- but waiting for >12 hours for urgent TREATMENT is not acceptable
While there was a delay from our side in brining my son to hospital, there was an additional delay of 6-8 hours in treating my son who came for the treatment of Kawasaki. It ended up my son having Heart Aneurysm. And their duty doctors failed to warn us to watch out for the KD symptoms when we went there for Scarlet fever.Treatment was great though but Prevention or warnings would have been better.
for the parking theft!
I made a whole private account just to rate SickKids. this place saved my brothers life and without the hard working doctors and nurses here, he wouldn’t be with me today. If you are hesitating on bringing your child here, please do — i had to come here for emergency reasons for myself recently too and they dealt with me very well. if any doctors see this, you are amazing and i am so thankful that the people here saved my brother. To all the parents, stay strong while your child is sick — for them and for yourself. they need your support and you will get through this. it’s an amazing place, please give it a chance.
God bless these guys.
I have my best friend who could lost his son due to no attention or even givin the minimum care from his nearst hospital until had been transferred to Sick Kids in critical condition, where he got the right doctors who have the right digonastic and treatment. His condition now under control and improving day after day,all respect and blessed to Sick Kids team.
Very helpful, I went there with my kids at mid night, I understand it will wait for long time but they are very good/ it is very helpful
Very long wait before they'll come to check your baby even if it's an emergency. I have to ask the janitor to help me ask the nurse station when they are coming to my room because we've been waiting for more than 4 hours.
It’s definitely poor to wait for 5 hours long when your kid is getting fever and vomiting!
Worst children's hospital to ever exist.
(Translated) I don’t have a child yet, but every time I have an opportunity to donate money, I will donate a little. When anyone needs help, I hope sick kids can continue to provide you with the best help! (Original) 我还没有小孩,但是每次遇到能捐钱的机会,都会捐一点,谁都可能遇到需要帮助的时候,希望sick kids能继续为大家提供最好的帮助!
This hospital did save my son's life but his nurse Jordon really needs a check on how to have nice attitude with the parents. He had cancer so if I wanna ask questions it's my right. I just asked if my son could get the vaccine told me yes but talk to my doctor from now on. It's easier apparently I'm 100% looking for a new doctor, nurse, corrinator. Thanks for helping my son but done with your staff.
Worst service for children, unable to diagnose, unable to treat, I had to send my daughter out of country for treatment. They wasted more than eight months, we spent days and nights in emergency and after her final diagnosis by a radiologist (not from Sick Kids) now Sick Kids is rejecting to offer her any treatment. We live in Canada where there is no private health sector, yet they refuse to offer treatment to a child who has been suffering for long. I am particularly talking about GI clinic in Sick Kids hospital. I wish we had private healthcare in Canada to avoid the world's worst healthcare system.
First time visited Sick Kids for my daughter’s illness and I was impressed with how they managed the whole situation. Had horrible experiences with Scarborough General and they pretty much couldn’t figure out what was wrong. From Triage to getting discharged, I can see why they are world leaders in pediatric care. The amount of selfless dedication and efforts all the doctors , nurses and patient care staff put in is commendable. If you want to donate to an organisation then I believe no one deserves it more than SickKids in Canada. Underground Hospital parking is available on elm street.
Awesome place. Best care ever!
High quality of medical service. All staffs are very nice.
Poor management for such an important and big hospital. My girl's shoulder is fractured or what and it's been 4 hours she's crying. Secondly they are not letting the second parent to come in for the switch as they want the first one to come out first. How can the first parent leave the room when they are waiting for the doctor.
They make you feel unwelcomed and suggest you visit your hospital in your area. This is when I wish we had paid healthcare, so atleast you get a good service. Triage and doctors then won't forget our taxes are paying for their salary/healthcare and its not a favoured/free service they are providing. We visited August 4 in the late evening, waited for 10 hrs for the whole process.
DO NOT come here if you have Lyme Disease or a tick bite. The doctors here are terrible. The Minister of Health released a letter to doctors telling them to treat Lyme, and yet this hospital refuses. If you have Lyme you must use "underground" doctors who will give you antibiotics. These doctors live in fear of the main stream of doctors who will complain about "underground doctors." If you have Lyme in Ontario, contact the Ontario Lyme Disease Clinic. Good luck.
I've been helping kids for years and years, it is a great opportunity to do this!
Er is terrible, waited 5 hours before we’ve got to see a doctor, other families sleeping in the hallways, meanwhile doctors are sitting there chatting unacceptable
Good hospital. They got a team of friendly staff and physicians and a nice environment for their patients. The hospital itself is very clean, decorated with lots of cartoon characters to make the kids feel less nervous when they're at the hospital and overall a good experience. The nurses are nice and quick too. They were quick to take down the information needed and examined the patient in a time efficient manner while the wait time to see the doctor was a bit longer then I had hoped. Every time my siblings visited SickKids, it's at least an 3-4 hour wait, after being examined by the nurses to see the doctor.
That’s the worst hospital ever! Every time when I came here with my baby we had been waiting 9-12 hours!!! However when we were getting registered we were told that waiting time will me approximately 4-5 hours. We had urinary infection with blood in his urine with temperature and he felt severe pain through the waiting time. Who knows In what sequence they examine kids?? Why do poor kids have to wait so long enduring unbearable pain???
Amazing Cool place
(Translated) French and passing through toronto this hospital looked after my son in an ultra professional way despite the fact that i don't speak english at all. All the staff were very friendly. I recommend ++++ (Original) Francaise et de passage a toronto cet hopital a soigné mon fils de maniere ultra professionnel malgre que je ne parle absolument pas l anglais. Tout le personnel etait tres sympatique. Je recommande ++++
This is the best hospital. The best doctors. I am very glad that children can be entrusted to the best specialists. Thank you for your work.
This is the worst hospital for the children. Ech time we come here the waiting time is about 8 to 10 hours. Suggest parents to take your sick children to any other hospital. They may prioritize children first.
The best place you can be. Reading the 1 star comments made me so upset. I understand the frustration of waiting for hours in an emergency room, but what I realized as a patient at SickKids is that you need to be grateful you're the one waiting. It's not you, or your kid who needs the immediate attention. There are children in critical condition that need help first. There is improvements that need to be made, yes. We need a newer building for better treatments, etc. This is one of the best places in the world, and people of the GTA should be lucky we live near SickKids.
4 hours wait with a kid and ended up leaving
The hospital makes you wait hours in the ER. They lose the doctor's notice, that would send you to another clinic for a procedure. They don't give proper responses, and the feel to the hospital is one of KARMIC UPSET.
6th floor is the trashiest thing I ever seen.. rude people and they never answer the phone.. congrats to Ontario health
Amazing hospital. I will always be grateful to all the doctors and nurses.
good place
Really great hospital
Waited 6 hours for the doctor and comeback home,my 15 months daughter had fever 102 for last 5 days they didn't took any test.worst experience
Great hospital for children
Always good work!
Er wait is terrible... Wen u get admitted the care is different but Er whether it's busy or not it takes for ever
Angels are there. They saved my son.
May be a good hospital for kids but they will never get over the Mother risk Lab Scandal Hair testing done by the Mothe risk Lab at Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children played a significant part in that decision that seen hundreds maybe even thousands of kids taken all over Canada and placed in the horrors of foster care because of phony results that mothers were on drugs but they never were.
nice
I took my 7 years old child to sickkids yesterday for symptoms of feeling like something is stuck in her throat for the past week. I felt like they didn't properly investigate......no blood work or scan just a covid test which still awaiting results. I feel better investigation could find out what might have been happening to her....they were too quick to say it might be all in her head!! How you gonna state that to a child without investigating? Am very disappointed sickkids ????
I'm not happy with some departments of Sickkids Hospital ,when I call then change an appointment so someone transfer the phone around the Hospital ,and never call back to me I don't know why I can't call to any department
Avoid this and many hospitals as much as possible.they have complete idiots in charge of covid screening.
Best hospital in all canada for kids and the staff are very friendly . And very accessible parking place Strongly recommend to all people in country
My doctor has had 3 open heart surgeries in 13 months everyone is amazing and they truly care and treat the kids like their own so you know they're fighting just as hard as you. Theres not enough words to even begin to describe how grateful I am for them and everything they have done for my daughter.
In the event your child has to go for an emergency visit this is really the best place to go. Fairly fast service knowledgeable doctors and a decent environment. Most visits at this hospital are not life altering or changing events so note that you should use common sense, if your child simply has a cold don't bring them to the hospital try a walk in first. I cannot comment on the long term patients or critical patients in this hospital however from most discussions with people this place is one of the best in North America. The only negstive comment would be on front line staff dealing with customer service, please note these are NOT nurses or anyone with a health care education just simply regular cs personal, sick kids needs to get rid of the young and untalented personal holding these jobs. I have photos and videos showing proof of them falling asleep on the job chewing gum and using Facebook the entire time they are entering patient info. This will be turned into administration very soon
This review is about the Emergency Care. First of all, was greeted by a rude nurse. I was in line for my son who was 10 ft away. When it was my sons turn, the nurse yelled at me that "Where is the child, the child must be here now!" I'm not sure what the rush was. On a plus note, the other nurses were more polite. Secondly, the hospital building is enormous. Plus, right? No, because the emergency area was tiny! To make matters worse, there was not one single toy or any appearance of a child friendly environment? My family doctor's office has more to offer a child. I expected Sick Kids would have a fun corner of books and amusements. Sick Kids had nothing, literally. Not a single child friendly distraction. {Who is your customer base?} Back to the space. They have a huge food court with nobody eating. Meanwhile I went to phase 2 of the ER and there were a total of 8-10 seats for 6-7 kids and their parents. Just had to shake my head. I hope someone reads this and makes changes.
Best place to go when you think something is wrong with your child, they are known around the world for their work.
The world's best doctors and nurses providing the world's best care. They saved my babies life and we are forever grateful.
Horrible ER service and waiting time. Rude nurses who lack empathy. They have no consideration for the kids or the parent being stuck for hours at end. The worst triage and ER nurses. I travelled from Mississauga to go to sick kids thinking it will be worth it. Should have just gone to credit Valley or Trillium hospital.
We were called back by a doctor to do an ultrasound on our 13 months daughter. We waited for 6 hours and no one can tell us when we can see a specialist so we can't even make an informed decision as to stay or leave. It was very difficult because we didn't expect to wait this long and didn't bring food or napping cod for our child. I would not recommend the effects here.
Sick kids is amazing. Doctors, Nurses are so co operative and excellent service as well. CCU unit and Neurology department staff and nurses also are excellent taken care abut my daughter. Dr Dreak (Chief of Neurology) is amazing. I never lose the opportunity to donate Sick kids.
I can not put into words how great this hospital is. I personally have had great experiences at this hospital from the time I was a baby up until my 18th birthday. I've gone to the ER many times, have had surgery in the plastics department and saw an eye specialist after an injury just to name a few. The nurses, doctors and support staff have been nothing short of amazing. I have always felt important and well taken care of; this was the always the first choice hospital for my parents. I have always felt very informed and in the loop about my care. Bring your kids here and please donate when you can it makes such a big difference! Of course if you come in through the ER and you are not urgent it will probably take a few hours. Be patient, if you have not been seen yet there is a good reason. It's right in the downtown core and has a fair amount of restaurants inside.
After 15 years of living in this beauty hospital. With the wonderful and talented physicians and nurses. And the staff are well trained and amazing and can accommodate to your needs. I understand that the Hospital For Sick Children is a will old and crowded place with children and adolescents. I herd on the CityNews Toronto that there going to rebuild and refurbished this campus. 3 more years until I enjoy the many fun and great opportunities that The Hospital For Sick Children has to offer. Next year I will take onto more opportunities since I will become a senior SickKids patient.
It is one of the best hospitals in the world for children. The staff is knowledgeable and courteous. They know how to talk to kids at their level. The doctors will keep you in the loop for every step of the treatment.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Many thanks for the wonderful care and love provided to my kids.
Great service nurses and doctors.????
The nursing staff are, for the most part, amazing, although I overheard a nurse asking another why the parents don't just let their child die already. Yeah, not cool. The doctors, however, are very cold and will encourage a parent to not fight for their child, even going so far as to insinuate that a child that ends up as Special Needs is not worth it. I can't believe the callousness of these doctors when we get pulled aside for meetings about our child. They will try to dash your hopes, regardless of the progress your kid is making. They would rather scare you into 'pulling the plug' than work with you or listen to your concerns. Our child wasn't even on life support; vital signs have always been great. The staff will also guilt you endlessly for not being able to be at your child's bedside 24/7 - unfortunately, people still have a job that they need to get to. This hospital also has a reputation for mistreating patients, to the point where a child has become permanently intellectually disabled because they gave him the wrong medication. This has happened more than once at this location. If your child is unfortunate enough to end up here, please do as much research on your own about your child's diagnosis and DEMAND answers, numbers, medication levels - everything you can. Because you just can't be sure that your child will be given the appropriate care if you don't. As an ending note, this is not a case of sour grapes. Our child is doing a lot better and is on the road to recovery, even though the doctors have claimed that this would never happen. We would not have had this time with our child or a promising future if we had listened to the doctors prognosis. Hopefully that offers some hope to other struggling parents. Overall, not impressed with this hospital.
My daughter was diagnosed with metopic cranio type I can’t be more thankful for doctor Forrest and his team , it was a successful surgery and the treated my daughter with care and love , thanks god and thanks to them she is doing amazing now and in perfect health
Love their services.
The best hospital in Canada for kids. I've had many friends bring their sick children here with great outcomes!
My wife and 10 month old son were waiting from 1.30 pm because my son have fever, running nose and crying from last two days and not able to eat or sleep. Hospital policy is that they only allow one parent, other parent have to stay outside the premises in any weather. Now it's more than 7 hours, I am still waiting outside in 2°c weather ????️ and my wife and kids are waiting hungry from last 7 hours in shake of not lose their turn. Worst management, worst policy.
Had the worst experince at this hospital when my daughter was there for a month fighting for her life... The had the most terrible head nurse in the nicu she actually shouted at me .. Some doctors who were terrible and had no bed side manners.. The whole experince was very negative left me traumatized and I had my daughter transferred to a community hospital which was way better. The doctors pray on the vulnerability of the parents and treat you as if you have no say in your child's care
Hit and miss. When its good its good!
Amazing hospital doctors and nurses. Admin staff not so. They are like robots no emotion what so ever.
This hospital is unbelievable. The staff is like no other. These people genuinely care about the well being of you and children. What they do here and how they treat each person is a blessing. I cannot say enough about everyone. Incredible.
Went in sick kids emergency department at 3am but we’re waiting for almost 5hrs! Feels like the staff doesn’t care to the patients!
Going to the hospital with a friends child. Very friendly and helpful staff. Parking is a bit pricy but convenient and plentiful
one star is too much for their ER service. The nurses are rude and doctors are ignorant. They refuse to perform proper diagnosis and just try to do the very minimum.
We had to bring our daughter to be checked here for hip surgery due to her hip replacement. It's a severe situation and we didn't had any idea how it will be treated... Dr. John Wedge who is a Orthopedic Surgeon and we are so lucky to meet him as he is specialized in hip reconstruction/replacements. He is absolutely amazing and very knowledgeable with incredible personality for every visit it is a pleasure to meet with him. It is a Great place and I highly recommend any kid to visit for any severe complications in life.
I did not have a positive experience at sick kids hospital.
I was waiting with my son last night 10 hours to be seen by a doctor. First a resident dr and then a senior dr. Advice: "take Tylenol and Advil", and go see your pediatric dr. They have a horrible triage sistem. They don't care that kids are tired after 10 hours of waiting. When I asked the nurse about waiting time she told me that 10 hours is not long other parents were waiting for 15 hours at least. They are loosing time playing on computer and chatting instead of triage kids faster and give good care. Horrible experience. Zero compassion about kids. They just count the hours to pass your case to next shift available. It is not human to let kids waiting so long and no games or books available to distact them.
QUALITY CARE, BEST SERVICE, VERY PROFESSIONAL DOCTORS
This is an amazing hospital....if your child is sick this is where you want them to be.
I took my 6 month old daughter in because she had a wide spread rash breakout from head to toe overnight. We waited nearly 6 hours at this hospital which was supposed to be one of the best in Toronto and had one of the most disappointing experiences. We thought we had hope if we took our daughter here and that they would actually have nurses and doctors that know what they are doing since the doctor self proclaimed and said how many years of experiences she has ???? Anyways, they misdiagnosed my daughter for eczema and sent us back to our paediatrician very quickly. Frankly, if it was so simple I would’ve done that in the first place. I told them I suspected my daughter has cmpa or diary intolerance and she broke out like this overnight. But none of them truly listened and understood what was going on… they were quick to print me a 10 page document that I can easily locate online re how to treat eczema. After this experience I knew I really had no hope and had to take matters into my own hands, we cut diary and my daughters skin gradually improved. But this is after months and months of suffering - she’s 9 month old now. I can’t believe the experience and how our healthcare professionals can’t tell the difference between eczema and allergy rashes.
HORRIBLE experience...! I wish to give negative stars if I could. I don't understand their procedure for emergency conditions. My baby who is just 2 years old fell and got bleeding on her nose and mouth. We rushed there with my baby and they informed me that only one parent was allowed to go along with the baby and also they didn't allow my husband to wait inside the building. He had been waiting outside in this snow weather until we back (around 4 hours he was standing outside in the snow). Besides, my baby and I had been waiting for 4 hours in the waiting area until we met the doctor. When we were waiting in the procedure room, one pediatrician was walking outside and busy with her phone. After 10 minutes she came inside and said the cut will recover on its own, nothing to treat. Finally, when she walked out of the room, she asked us to wait here for the paperwork. She did come after 15 minutes, asked us you guys are still here, I totally forgot. She didn't even have the courtesy to ask sorry and did nothing for my baby.
Very experienced doctors and super supportive staff! No doubt, this is one of the best kids’ hospital in the world!
Today I attended Sickkids emerge. First time. I was terrified by quality of health care of our kids one of the richest! country in the world. Here is my experience: my child is 3 years old, having very high fever for 6 days. I brought my child to Sickkids because I wanted to get professional pediatric assessment and care. Emergency waiting room: dark, small, no ventilation, no space to seat as there are so many people with their sick kids in such a small non-ventilated dark room. We had to stay and carry our kid. Admitting staff are amaizing and hard workers, very very kind and professional, however it does not help to solve the problem: they told us waiting time will be from 4 to 8 hours in that small waiting room with no ventilation. Even for adult healthy person it is a big challenge. Moreover, no seat to stay!!! We went to another hospital and got better help. This hospital raising big money, where do they go?
Amazing staff, wonderfull service. Everything was helful for two stressfull parents who brought their kid for emergency care. They were wonderful. Special thanks to Dr. Dennis Scolnik and Shannon (Don’t remember her title but she was also very helpful and very friendly with our kid) For sure will donate to this hospital. Even the parking rate was very reasonable.
such friendly staff, doctors really care to help my son. at first i was upset at the first doctor because he came off rude when we said its too much medication and he said if you do not want our help why are you here..but our new doctor is too good to be true and we have really seen a difference in my son since having sessions with this new doctor. waiting room is nice games for the kids to keep them busy and a non hospital feel. keep it up the kids are our future we need to take care of them.
Best hospital
Excellent staff and doctors in a very difficult and stressful time.
Wait time suck
The service wasn’t good very bad hospital the doctor didn’t do anything after waiting for 4 hours they didn’t do anything for us while my kids were very sick coughing they didn’t examine us they send us home
Horrible service, inconsiderate and horrendous experience visiting this hospital for the very first time. Extremely long hours to wait for care, diagnosis and service. Have been trapped now in a room for over 12 hours and can't even get a nurse to offer something to eat or drink for my kid or myself. More so, even though I inquired to get someone to relieve me while I go to the food court, no one has shown up. Pathetic place to bring your kids to get treated.
Best hospital all time for kids.
Took my son yesterday to Sick Kids. My first time there and they were very thorough in the ER. I’ve taken my other son to another hospital and ER staff (before pandemic existed) was rude and dismissive. Sick Kids came through and really restored my faith in the health system. During such a hard time in everyone’s lives they still were polite and explained every detail of what they were going to do. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to ensure everyone is safe and comfortable and doing so with respect and kindness.
The receptionist service, both by the phone and in hospital reception are very bad! They do not know nothing about the hospital, can not help you with any information, not have communication between them and also are very rude!
The best for kids in all of Canada. Absolutely recommend.
If you're looking to spend 6 hours to hear "Take Advil and Tylenol" when your baby has viral stomatitis - it is a MUST GO TO.
With they would take things more seriously
I just spent 5 hours at sick kids hospital which supposedly the best hospital for kids in Ontario. I was very sad to see where all of my donations year after year has been going to. The emergency room was filthy crammed and definitely not made for children to wait around more than 30 minutes. TV is not working floor filthy etc. I was literally seen by three different nurses and had to explain my two-year-olds symptoms three different times. As my daughter was getting seen by a doctor a page went out and she literally ran out of the room in between our diagnosis.
Very good staff doctor very helpful thanks
Waiting 5 hours for a pediatrician. Tell your kids not to get sick on weekends. Get food , water with u, and a small blanket. U will need.
good place for sick kids
They have good doctors
I'm here now to check my daughter's abdominal pain for potential appendicitis. Waiting over 5 hours and still have not seen a doctor. If you want serious medical care in a timely manner, go elsewhere.
Took 9 hours for staff to attend my kid. 3 years old had some issues. I was advised by family doctor to visit sickkids asap. I visited the emergency ward with 3 year old. No information about waiting times. Was assuming to wait 3 to 4 hours. Waited for 9 hpurs before i was attended. Man tgis isworse thanthird world. I would rather pay doctor fee and get the attention in an hour than wait 9 hours to get free service. I wonder how people are accepting this without any complaints. Elections are closer and focus is to reduce house affordability. No one dares to take this waiting time issue at all.
Very friendly, organized, kids oriented obviously. Lots of respect and patience for everyone. Keep up the good job. I only wish the appointments' time was better observed as we come on time but have to wait for a long time. They need to review their estimates for appointments and book accordingly.
One of the best in the WORLD!
Had to take my baby to this emergency as she wasnt feeding properly. Waited on the waiting room foe about 6 hours. Finally saw the doctor who was a very professional and competent one. She ordered blood work and after 40 minutes came back to see the results and found out it hasnt even been taken yet. Then two nurses came to put an IV in my four month old. They tried twice and put two holes in my baby. While the baby was passing out from crying they were tapping on the needle in her hand and taking it out and putting it back in several times. When we complained that she is passing out and finish it, one of them says "I have done IVs too. That's the way it is." I am just swearing at myself why I even brought her to the "best" kids hospital in north america.
My child is living proof that Sick kids does miracles! All staff and doctors are wonderful! We have received nothing but wonderful care from there. When my son was hospitalized for five weeks at a community hospital and thanks to a wise doctor at the community hospital, he was transferred to Sick Kids, he was released within a day after they figured out his issue and changed his meds! That’s how knowledgeable Sick kids is! Every place person has an opportunity for improvement, Sick kids is no exception.
Great staff Parking is hard to find, so its better to reach a good half an hour before or so
I couldn’t see humanity there ( some of them had but they couldn’t help though). Some people say “the best hospital in the world” I’m wondering if they had an experience in any normal country and hospital out of Canada?!
What an amazing hospital filled with amazing staff from the nurses to the the doctors to the guest services, you feel welcomed during this difficult time and they ensure you understand what is going on with detailed knowledgeable nurses and doctors!
Waited in ER for 7 hours without any physical assessments, swabs or blood work to be told that my brother just has viral infection. Were told to just drink Gatorate and stay at home. We insisted the doctor to palpate the abdomen, she acted as if she did not want to do it, but came over and did it. We as a family were very disappointed. The government and doctors need to do better with management of ERs. Perhaps hire more doctors and nurses to accommodate patients well and have time for your patients.
Donated over 25K to this hospital. How the money was allocated nobody knows. Stop donating to this hospital as the money is mostly used for administrative purposes. Such scam
Best hosiptal. Please take your children here ????. God bless all the Doctors, nurses and staff members. Thank you for saving my son's life.
Will never go back I honestly dont know where to start but I honestly am saddened and very upset at the care my 17month old son received at sick kids Hospital. This all started on March 2, 2018 when my son started showing signs of bilateral ear infection and possible pnemonia so he was prescribed Amoxilcillin and ventalin at Mackenzie Health EM walk-in clinic. He started at anew Montessori on March 5, 2018. On March 8th at 11:32 am I got a phone call from his Montessori stating that Tristan had a fever and that I should come to get him. I took him to his Dr.'s and he said it is most likely viral but we did a rapid flu test and it tested positive for Influenza A he prescribed him Tamiflu. He took a dose of tamiflu with continuing the Amoxicillin that evening and went to bed. The fevers persisted throughout the day going as high as 106ºc and had red spots on tummy and face. That evening I took him back to Mackenzie health EM walk in and they said it possibly could be chicken pox and I should see my pediatrician in the morning and to control fever with tylenol and advil. The next morning I went to sick Kid Hospital By this point the fevers still persisted and my son now was covered from head to toe with hive like welts and was give a dose of benedryl which he threw up.... because they thought it was a possible allergic reaction. They took him in the ER and The Dr said he has Erythema multiforme (EM) is an acute, self-limited, and sometimes recurring skin condition that is considered to be a type IV hypersensitivity reaction associated with certain infections, medications, and other various triggers. To stop all medications and to use Tylenol/advil and Benedryl as need to help fevers and stop itch and they discharged him. Later that even he became very lethargic and ill with high fevers still and the rash was getting much worse. I was laying on the couch with him and noticed his hands were blue so I look at his feet too and they were blue. I then got back in the car where we rushed him back to Sick Kids Hospital. Upon entrance in to the ER I seen a Dr and showed him my sons hands and feet and how extensive the rash was and right away the rushed him in and hooked him up to heart monitors, put heat packs on his hands and feet and keeped checking his breathing. They then did blood work and he was so dehydrate and he had such poor circulation it took a hour and half to successfully find a vein to insert the IV in to. The keeped him for 3 hours on iv and waiting for blood test and said he had the Erythema multiforme and he was ok to go home abd to once again control fever with Tylenol/advil and benedrly for itch. I repeatedly asked the ER Dr. are you sure he is ok to go home he is lethargic and is dehydrated and has poor circulation. And the rash was consistently getting worse. He said that the body is pushing the flu out, thats what causes the poor circulation, that the rash will move around and that he is good to go home. That night he was screaming in pain and his fevers were high and he was refusing to drink or eat. The next morning he was showing bruising along with the rash and his hands and feet were so swollen and the back of his head was swollen too. I couldnt watch him suffer anymore. I wasnt going to bring him back to Sick Kids I had enough. I brought him to the ER at Humber River Hospital and they took him in right away and with in a hour he was seen by Dr. Miller the Hospital Pediatrician where he admitted my son into his care. God Bless this man and the staff at the pediatric care on the 4th floor of the hospital. My son with in a few days of committed staff and awsome care was rash free, swelling free and on the fifth day fever free. He still has a mild pnemonia but today March 15th we are finally home and he can do the rest of his healing at home. I would have to say Humber River saved my son.
Been waiting 5 hours and 39 minutes. Only when I go to the nurse station for update, then someone will be sent to tell you that the doctors are on their way but they dont show up. Couple of people were sent to tell me that for last 6 hours but no doctors. Terrible wait time.
Disgusted by this place mind you the nurses where amazing the doctors we had where very rude to not just my wife and i but the nurses as well i was also disgusted to find out they are s for profit hospital the Cancer team we had was verry unprofessional and uncowardinaded and messed up my sons chemo amount luckily the nurse noticed before starting it after meeting a few parents i learned this happens all to often n that five kids where put into morphine induced coma after telling parents nothing more could be dun they pulled the plug to have them bounce back with in a week hospital security is a joke only 2 of them care about their job after my self n 4 other parents brought to there attention that their was a pedofile out front jerking off they did nothing untill 2 of us posted it all over Facebook and i my self chaised down the one finally somthing was dun as they new they where under fire me and the wife hsve had a night mare of a time i could go on but will leave it at this never again will my family return tho again nursing staff u are amazing and careing
Awesome doctors, and nurses, they really make your child's hospital experience great.
Best hospital in Canada for children
Good, friendly and lively environment, stayed here 2weeks for 2month old baby. Most of Mon to Friday team are quite efficient. Nurses on weekends and nights and some during week are not prompt. Can clearly see some nurses don't care and just want to kill time. Lazy staff don't even sweep mop rooms especially on weekends. They just emptied garbage and left. Paging system ruined peace. Inconsistent service weekly staff vs weekends.
It couldn't be better. Great hospital, friendly environment, and professional staff, A+++++ God bless. Thank you for everything, Ali
Excellent hospital, others operating in Richmond hill, and soon in Vaughan should learn from this hospital. The CEO at Richmond hill should get training here.
Nurse Zaheera Raza in the Cardiology department is rude af.
I usually do not be active to write positive reviews but this I believe Sick Kids deserves a 5 star review. Thank you so much sick kids for providing an exception care with a blend of highly talented, experienced, young and energetic staff. I also heard from so may people the reviews are same. Once again Thank you a ton for the care.
Worst hospital ever
Top notch. My son's first surgery went great. Everyone was very attentive and supportive.
Excellent. .. Beyond expectations
Took my son to sick kids recently. The staff did a wonderful job making sure that myself and my child felt at ease. We were taken care of in a timely manner. Hospital is very clean, however parking is very pricey.
This hospital should provide more accessibility to get in by University Avenue and in winter time, not everyone drives a car to enter on Elizabeth Street; especially when you are carrying your children in the stroller.
Very nice place. Doctors are so caring best hospital in the world! :)
Brought in my infant for a reason, crying for hours at the hospital but they said they are too busy and doctor will see us but it may take whole night of waiting? Really? What kind of emergency hospital takes all night for an infant? Everytime we come here it’s takes hours of wait, after long wait, multiple people will check the child, nurse, sometimes a residential doctor, then junior doctor then a senior doctor, then you wait for them to bring your take away paper, the poor child gets traumatized. The process is a horrible, it takes so long. For a hospital dealing with children they should improve this horrendous service.
Only place I truly feel my child is taken care of. Amazing staff on all levels
We went to the Emergency department and were seen by the DR Fayyaz Jabeen. I am so disappointed. She suppose not to be a kids doctor. I asked her to explain us the advantages and the disadvantages of the procedure. She got nervous, started screaming and scared all of us. I was in shock! and was asking her to get calm. I do not recommend her as your kids doctor. If she walks into the room, my recommendation is to ask for another doctor. I also don't think that she has a proper knowledge. She took a picture of the baby and went to show it to another person.
thanks to all the staff. awesome!!
Everything is top notch except for the wait time if you come at night, and sometimes the reception is super impatient if you don't describe clearly the symptoms in 10 seconds...
My husband is Canadian and he told them if we could go in together since my 21-day-old baby needs an emergency and they did not want to accept our request. We only need a doctor to see our baby and to be able to communicate, the girl dr reception did not let my husband enter with the doctor and I wait
The work they do here, is nothing short of a miracle
Horrible experience my son was misdiagnosed and sent home with severe pain. Next day he had an emergency operation at another hospital. One of the worse experiences i ever had
I went to sick kids hospital from the age of 4 till I was 18 and had the best care I coukd ask for. My Drs to this day still email my mom to see how I am doing and still follow me as much as they can even 10 years later of not going there. Best hospital ever and I am forever grateful to the staff!
Beware this hospital only has 1 entrance and exit. So if you take your kids for a medical procedure and can't walk after, and your Wife is 8 1/2 months pregnant, you need to carry your child around outside to the back of the building. I have a bad back and nerve damage to my left leg. I also had back surgery a few years back, and my leg goes numb if I walk around carrying something. I don't understand why there aren't at least 2 entrances to this hospital. Staff are great though.
(Translated) An integrated children's hospital of all specialties with commercial markets and various restaurants for the convenience of doctors, patients and escorts. (Original) مستشفى اطفال متكامل من جميع التخصصات وبه اسواق تجارية ومطاعم متنوعة لراحة الاطباء والمرضى والمرافقين كما يحتوي على مصلى للمسلمين
went to sickkids emergency at 1:10AM, could not see a doctor till 4:20AM. over 3 hours of waiting but nobody had come to us for check up or for an update. I would drive further and find alternative hospital for next time.
Once doing a IV therapy,to get out my contacts which has been stuck in both eyes foe
The most wonderful souls. Thank you.
The worst hospital in Toronto. Came to the ER with my 9-month-old who was very sick and had to deal with the rudeness of the « triage » staff especially the Asian old woman who by the way shouldn’t be working around people. Looks like asking people for info is too complicated for her as she doesn’t listen and on top of that gives you attitude! Anyway, except for giving my baby some Tylenol for his fever (which I could do by myself), the doctors did NOTHING. Even giving a proper diagnosis. - « could be the beginning of bronchitis or an upper respiratory infection or could be Covid… » WOW! Of course, when I ask if my son can be tested it’s a no because they would rather wait for the babies to stop breathing for that! My baby wasn’t able to eat as he was breathing by his mouth but who cares right? Even helping clean his nose with a saline solution was too much to do for them. Where are the real doctors?
Unfortunately, we've been here numerous times and their priority seems to be how quickly then can dismiss you. Unless someone is going to imminently keel over, they'll just hand you your discharge papers.
I only have praise for the nurses and doctors in the Critical Care Unit and the Electrophysiology specialists. All staff were compassionate and knowledgeable, Healthcare at its Best.
I am certain the hospital helped alot. They mislead many of the public including the donors. I would love to hear the many times they turned away children, or how many refferals they turned down forcing patents to take their kids to the U.S.
My Doder is sick
Awful wait time. Awful staff(except mark in ER). If there was zero stars I’d choose that option
I was sick 45 years ago with a heart problems and the dr was doctor freedom I remember him being a big teddy bear the Caribbean and I'll never forget you
We went to sick kids 8th floor Haematology clinic today Dec.3 and was seen by Ms. Monalisa Alhas the best Phlebotomist. She collect blood from my daughter as fast as 123. She handle my daughter with tender loving care very professional. We would highly recommed her to everyone who needs their child to have blood chemistry. Hands down to Miss Alhas. What a fantastic job your doing specially to young kids that does not know whats going on. Dont go to emergecy and have your child be seen by non professional. If your child needs to take her blood works ask for Ms. Monalisa Alhas the best ever Phlebotomist you wont regret it. She is the BEST. Thank you for doing your job but also loving your job. As a parent we cant thank you enough for doing such a great job you were born to be a Phlebotomist Ms. Monalisa Alhas. To all the parent and staff of sick kids if you need a Phlebotomist Ms. Alhas is the best. I do hope you could teach other Phlebotomist and health professional who are doing blood chemistry or need to cannulate their patient how to handle their patient specially the young one. Again we cant thank you enough we just hope you continue what your doing and teach those health professional to be just like you. Again thank you Miss Monalisa Alhas from the bottom of our hearts.
Very nice place
cooperative doctors and nurses.
I’m taking
Would love to see a small intercom by the Starbucks area to call patients in as oppose to crowding people in the waiting room. ... Not having a nursing room at sick kids Hospital is a Big Minus. Everything else is lovely n thanks.
Dr Sharon Cushing at Sickids was absolutely amazing!!!!!! Our son's issue took a lot of time and effort but she solved it !!! Absolutely over the moon with the results . I can't thank her enough!!! Also, the entire ENT team should be commended. Everyone there was soooo great !!
