REVIEWS OF St. Luke's University Hospital - Bethlehem Campus IN Elliot Lake

Terrible and no regards for patients' time. 3 back to back appointments for a family member and each was 40+ mins behind. Sprinted from the first appointment across the hospital to the next one only to sit there and wait another 40 minutes. Would not recommend. Best part is everything could have been done by phone.

Shaun Adickes

Horrible ER for walk ins ! over 5 hours of wait time.

Todd Moore

Great place. Our baby boy was born 12 weeks early and tomorrow he is set to he discharged from a 7 week stay in the nicu. The nurses have been absolutely wonderful and are knowledgeable. They make you feel calm and communicate with you continuously to make sure that you never feel alone. Ontop of that, the cafeteria is much better than youd ever expect a hospital cafeteria to be. The staff is friendly, quick, and serve up some great meals. My wife and I have been fortunate to end up here. If I had the chance to change I wouldnt.

Terrible terrible. Why is this hospital still open? We went into the emergency room to talk to a doctor about one our relatives. We had to wait 20 minutes just to get to the doctor. And it wasn’t supposed to be long but it took 30 minutes to talk to the doctor. Also we had to wait the 45-50 minutes while hearing this patient gagging so loud and screaming loud. I get it they are sick, but it was still annoying for us and the others in the waiting room. I get it that doctors are busy and they have work to do but it should take that long. The main point is that you have to wait a very long time. One elderly had to wait about 2 hours until her friend decided to take her to another St. Luke’s. Most likely the one in Allentown because that one is way better than this one.

I have been waiting in this ER for hours I am in severe pain please I need to be seen by a Dr please

I had my baby at St. Luke's in Bethlehem and it was a great experience! My obgyn is amazing and performed the c section with no issues. Then my aftercare was more then I thought it would be. The nurses were attentive, polite and kind. They helped with everything I needed! My baby was in the room with me the whole time and we were always checked up on and the nursing head came around daily to see if I had any issues that needed to be addressed. I had a few favorite nurses in there that went above and beyond. I really enjoyed my time there and the care they gave me and my baby.

I wanted to say Thank You to the 9th Floor girls, and to the everyone for putting up with me. Thank you to the great Surgeon that I had , and A very Special Thank You To the night nurses ⚘HANNAH⚘, Patrick, drew and Eric, wished I knew there Last Names , Especially one name but thank you from the bottom of my heart,

My niece was here for 4 days for a rare spinal inflammatory disease. St. Luke's Hospital did not process any blood work. The staff continuously said they would give her prescribed medication to combat muscle spasms and nerve pain but would only come back with more morphine! St. Luke's Hospital did not bathe her or administer any physical therapy the entirety of her stay. It got to the point where we decided to remove her from St. Luke's Hospital and only then did a patient advocate show up! Unfortunately the move to next hospital was done causing excruciating pain to my niece because of the severe muscle spasm s and nerve pain since she was off her medications. Disgusting Hospital and disingenuous Physicians and Staff! KEEP YOUR LOVED ONES AWAY!

I’m currently here right now after 3+ days and the nurses/Patient Care Assistants were all so sweet and kind. Shelly the nurse was the best and always made me laugh. Even the people in the ICU checked on me a lot. For the people that cared for me when I was in a coma, thank you!

paul Denar

I was in the hospital for over 6 months. Had 17-19 surgeries in about 10 day span . Dr Luke, Dr Hoye,Dr Benton ARE THE BEST And when it comes to wound care.. JILL IS SECOND TO NONE. All the nurses on the 7th floor ROCK. They are my family. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about all of them. I own them my life. I Would like to give a shout out to the male nurse I believe was in the ICU. Ponytail glasses I forget your name you were awesome. This is RAY TITTERMARY I LOVE AND MISS YOU ALL

I wanted to come in here and like the experience. The nurses were very kind. I like them. The problem come in that I have been sitting in this room for 4 hours now waiting to see a Dr. I can't take it I'm hungry tired in pain and have not even seen a Dr yet.therefore they get 1 star should be more prepared for things.

Nikya Ann (Nik)

I Have Sickle Cell Anemia The Care Here Is NOT Great At All Especially When I Am Admitted On The 3rd Floor It Is The Absolute Worse

Lauren Reyes

I've only been here to deliver my children, and I've loved it. Maternity staff were very attentive, never left my side, made me feel comfortable and kept me up to date with everything that was going on. I highly recommend delivering here

patty anderson

I dislocated my hip last week. I was in the ER, nurses, drs, aides, all personnel were super kind patient and helpful. I have only great things to say about st Luke’s

My mother is in the hospital right now and I received a call from her because she has been ringing the buzzer to get a nurse to assist her. She had been sitting in bed in her own urine for almost an hour and no one answered the call button. I had to call the charge nurse to get her a nurse. Megan answered the phone so I explained the situation and demanded she go and assist. I hope that I do not have to do this again as I was led to believe that this was a top notch place. Just got off the phone with info link and PCA who tells me there was one nurse on and she was tied up with a one on one PATIENT, LEAVING THE FLOOR TO FEND FOR THEMSELVES. I AM SORRY BUT THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE regardless of staffing issues. Sadly now the only system left is Lehigh, and returning to St Lukes I dont feel is a viable option at this point. So my mother was discharged today, and mostly without issue. When we got home, I went to pick up her prescriptions, and only 1 of the 2 were there at the pharmacy. When I called the hospital, I spoke to Victoria who helped discharge her. I explained that the syringe to flush the catheter was not at the pharmacy, and she was speaking to a Dr. At the desk while I was on the phone. To make a long story short, I heard her say to the Dr that she should have given syringes to me before I left, but opted not to. The dr said I could drive back to Bethlehem, a 1 hour drive for me, and get them at a pharmacy there. I told her when she got back on the phone with me that I was not going to be driving back down there. She told me to call the surgeons office and have them resubmit the prescription. It seems that there is always an issue, and I am glad this is over and we no longer have to deal with this hospital.

I was brought to St Luke’s by Paramedics due to a precipitous drop in my BP.I was treated by ER nurses and attendants immediately, with great care and professionalism . Everyone I came into contact with in the ER ,including housekeeping staff, were considerate and kind to me. It helped so much to feel treated gently and with competence when you are so vulnerable and helpless . All staff was exceptional . I had the same experience when I was admitted to the 3rd floor for observation. The nurses, , nursing assistants, tech assistants, nutrition staff and housekeeping were all efficient, professional and attentive to my needs. Dr Mangani was very thorough with my diagnosis and treatment . He was also willing to accommodate my schedule regarding discharge from the hospital . I’m from NYC and have been in hospitals there ,and I have to say -St Luke’s is best hospital experience I have ever had .!! Thank you all so much !!!

Sonia Alexander Castro

Thank God we have them

currently in the waiting room, i’ve had extreme abdominal pains since the early morning like 6:30 and have been vomiting and feeling extremely dizzy waited at least 2 hours to receive medical attention. the lady at the registry heard me crying (because i’m in excruciating pain) and told me to “shh and be quiet” when i told her i’m in pain she told me she was in pain listening to me cry. very unprofessional and i will be contacting a superior.

Had surgery on Sept 9, 2019. Dr Nwachuku is amazing. The nursing staff were on top of their game - very attentive and helpful. I had a short stay there but was very impressed with the hospital and all the disciplines who worked with me to ensure I was safe to go home.

My aged mother has been in the Priscilla Payne Hurd unit for a week now. Her nursing care has been good. The room has been clean and the staff has been attentive. However, there has been some passive resistance to keeping her children informed of her status. The hospital is in the middle of a health records system conversion, and the patient information available to authorized persons at other, more updated hospitals is not yet available to family members at St. Luke’s facilities. This facility was established in the latter decades of the 19th century, so everything about it requires an understanding that it is built into the side of a hill. Parking is difficult and far from patient rooms unless visitors use valet parking. It is an urban hospital and a trauma center, so it is a good place to be taken if you have been injured in a car accident or shot. If you are electing to have surgery with a St. Luke’s doctor, consider using the Anderson campus on Route 33 if at all possible. That property is new and has convenient parking. Some of the concerns I have put forward will be resolved by February 2018 when the new patient information system is made available to all. Others, like parking, are not likely to improve.

I want to express my appreciation to the physicians and staff of SLH Bethlehem for providing expert care to me recently. It was not clear what the problem was when I was admitted. The staff, including imaging, renal and ID as well as internal medicine specialists chose supportive care and no antibiotic for what was likely a virus. As it turns out they correctly managed my illness. I am grateful to the attentive nursing staff of the 3rd floor, Bethlehem campus, Dr. Joe Jacobs and the internal medicine staff. I received caring and kind treatment by the nurses, residents and staff. Also, they recovered my iPad and returned it to me. Thanks very much. Wesley P. Kozinn, M.D., F.A.C.P.

The staff were professionals and in good spirits my surgery was a success. The whole hospital stay was a great experience.I highly recommended St Lukes hospital as atop 10 in every area

Mary Szymanski

2stars cause there is a building and so far 2 people on staff after hours waiting to see an md for admission still waiting in the waiting room watching televised ads talking about how good this hospital is good for that because sitting here endlessly I couldn’t not have guessed. not that it makes any difference. It is my unfortunate estimate that no one here cares a thing about anyone here in the waiting room all of whom look more uncomfortable as the hours fly by. Inhumane that no one has been seen in hours Is there an actual place you can get health in this area

Nilene T

I just spent one week in St Lukes and the staff from the kitchen to the nurses was always personal and kind. All were very busy but they always made time for me. The food was excellemt. Thank you to everyone ????

Great hospit08

Horrible experience and making my girlfriend have more pain with her broken arm

World class. I live in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area and work in the medical field. I am so glad my family member is at St. Lukes and not at one of our hospitals. He wouldn't be here today without them.

Skunk3 Works

By far the most unprofessional and unorganized hospital I've ever seen.

Tiffany Perks

The staff here has always been amazing. The ED works as quick as they can and are extremely polite under pressing situations. Mind you, the ED works on the most important issues first before lesser matters. They staff works incredibly hard....incredibly. This is a great learning hospital and because of that, it makes them a great network. I'll always choose St. Luke's first.

Lisa Strobl

They put diagnosis’s in your chart that are inaccurate causing issues when you do need help. Currently they have 3 inaccurate diagnosis’s in my chart and won’t remove them yet all three you need multiple tests done to have said diagnosis and I’ve never been tested at all for any of them.

I went into the Emergency Department on 04/28/2021 at approximately 4:00 PM for abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, and severe dehydration. I was taken in relativity quick and saw doctors and nurses right away. After speaking with the Resident Doctor about my condition, he said he would communicate it the supervising doctor. The process of getting me my medication and fluids took a while after I was initially seen. I waited almost 45 minutes to just get fluids. After my first fluids were done, I explained to the doctor that I was still feeling very dehydrated which he agreed to giving me another round of fluids. When the nurse came in, I advised her of the additional fluids in which she responded, unfortunately there was never an order put in by the doctor. She said she would go speak to him and shortly thereafter, I got my fluids. The attending doctors who are doing the ordering of medications and tests should be doing it immediately with the patient. Anytime I've ever been to the Monroe campus of St Luke's, the doctor always put the order in on the computer in the room. I don't think patient should have to wait almost an hour to get hydrated, when they're already severely hydrated and at the verge of fainting. I know for a fact that the emergency department wasn't busy because my nurse told me it was relatively quiet and they had a little down time. I am all for the down time, but make sure the patients are getting their medications and fluids in a timely matter. I waited almost another hour to get my second bag of fluids. Overall all the nurses and technicians I had were awesome. The doctor who also did my. Ultrasound was very good as well. The attending doctors seeing the patients need to have better communication with the staff and get orders in for medication in a timely manner. People's lives are literally depending on it.

The receptionists are disrespectful. I’ve been waiting for over 2 hours. When I first got there, nobody was at the waiting area. Suddenly when other people came, they started calling them first even though I’ve been there since the beginning. I went in because my daughter had a high fever and throwing up, and didn’t prioritize that. Instead, they were letting in people who literally just came in instead of the ones who were there first.

Frederick Herrmann

I had a fusion done. While in my bed Ron the nurse had a gentleman iv my arm. Sadly he put it in the inside of my elbow where it bends. It got infected while in your hospital. My left hand is numb and hot sometimes, and being a guitarist that is terrible. Operated on 4/14/21 and my hand is still numb.

Hurry Harry

I only picked up some medications for a friend. There was dedicated parking for the pharmacy so I was in and out in 15 minutes.

Maria B.

Always doing their best to care for their Patients.

Corrinne “Ataraxia”

The absolute worst healthcare experience of my lifetime and I’ve been to many different providers throughout my life. Avoid this place at all costs.

My 9 year old son just had a several day stay in the pediatric unit of this hospital in Bethlehem due to him having both the flu type b, and rhabdomyolysis. From the moment he got transported there from the Upper Bucks Campus ER he was in great hands. I have to say that I was particularly impressed with almost every doctor (we saw 6), I was blown away at what amazing nurses they have in that unit, and in that duration of time my son was there I felt he got the best care! Nurse Kim, Nurse Samm, and Dr. Bram Sakdiponephong were absolutely incredible! Thank you!

Cylitrix Chan

Think they are okie for what I need for health reasons. At least it was quick at the time we got there when less volume.

My kids and I were exposed to covid went in there 2 days ago we got tested the er DO was very rude and also told me with an attitude that in 24 hours I will have my kids and I results. I took a home covid test the day before that and one of my kids came back positive and till this day I'm still waiting for there results. Have my daughter isolated because if she is positive and is negative want to make sure how to take care of her. Worst hospital ever won't reccomend it to no one. Don't even know why they still open.

Ian Medina

If I could give it 0 stars I would. I was supposed to have an interview on a Wednesday, then 5 minutes after it was supposed to start hr calls and says oh management didn't realize it was this Wednesday can we reschedule for Monday at 1 wich is today. I try to get on and both time did not receive to prior phone calls, I email her and then get a phone call and she says oh management doesn't have internet for the meeting but you can email me. So unprofessional so emailed her back and told them I am passing on the interview that was rescheduled for a third time. I will take my experience somewhere else. I forgot to mention the hr lady found this whole situation funny and laughed the whole time.

Lindsay Chantelle

there is a patient with sickle cell disease on tiktok live right now showing her requesting care from the nurses and no one is answering her. she has been literally shaking and crying from how bad the pain is for the past half hour and its hard to watch. this is disgusting behavior on y’alls part.

Lil Nobody

I had went to the ER tonight and told them that I was there for my severe depression and let me just say, the younger nurses in there treated me like a piece of gum on the sidewalk. Didn't even put me in a room, put me on a bed in the hallway. Made fun of me with rude remarks, saying things like "Oh she's hearing the voices" after I had privately told the doctor that i have been hearing voices in my head. They also had said "did you give her some fentanyl? she's chilled out" which is very disrespectful and rude. I went there for help and they just discharged me tonight and sent me on my way, leaving me worse than when I walked in. The nurses had also told me "come back immediately if you're feeling like you're going to hurt yourself or anyone else" like they didnt do anything for me and just pushed me away. ONLY THING I WILL SAY my social worker Bridget was the best person in there! She is so sweet, she put me in a private room with a tv and a blanket. The sweetest person in there!!

Chris Wendell

Staff is amazing responds to your needs in every way in a very fast manner

Sage Gerhart

About a month ago I was in the ER and had a wonderful experience! From the doctors, to the nurses, to the woman who checked me in- all wonderful! I was there for approximately 4/5 hours and the entire time I was there the staff made me feel very comfortable. As someone who is very anxious it was nice to be taken care of and not have my feelings dismissed as "just anxiety." Although it was not much more than that, the doctor ran several test to be sure. I am very thankful for this experience and would highly recommend St.Luke's!

Marie Ulmer

This has got to be the worst hospital i experienced with my child! My child who suffers from bad asthma and headaches was sent here by her pediatrician but somehow we are STILL waiting over 3 hours now! The old receptionist was very rude and dismissive. I’m trying to keep calm. Because my child is in extreme pain but I am really going to flip out on these ppl. They. Checked in TWO children before her who came AFTER her! You are in this profession to HELP PEOPLE. I am truly disgusted.

A MALDONADO

We have our brother in law in this hospital and came during the week to see him no problem today this new "guard" did not allow us to come in. We explain we had come before no problem he still refuse to let us in his name Mr. Michael refuse to show us his last name

Deb Ray

I am a New Yorker and biased toward NYC hospitals. When my son was hospitalized at St. Luke's for emergency appendectomy I was anxious. My son ran fevers for several days, and I was consulting outside doctors, even considering transfer. I couldn't have been more wrong. Every member of the staff from the surgeon and his staff, to the nurses, to the patient care team, to the women who cleaned the room, were professional, considerate and caring. The doctors and nurses were responsive to my questions and concerns and proved to me at several turns that they knew what they were doing. In addition to the great care, the hospital is newly renovated, and most of the rooms are private. Ours even had a shower! I feel my son got excellent medical care at St. Luke's. Thanks to everyone in W3, P6 and Red Surgery!

If I could give this hospital a 0 I would to bad they don't go that far! My 7 year old son arrived at 11:00am mind you he had a very high fever and his heart was so fast, he was throwing up yellow literally. I waited 5 hours but because some other people were making a scene they got priority and were passed before me... One was only there for an hour and because he was complaining to the women from registration she called and they came out and got him. 12/7/2021 the registration lady was rude and said she can't do nothing about it. But you call back and prioritize a knee pain over my child with 102.9 of fever almost passing out and a very high heart rate ???? This hospital was also responsible for me loosing my pregnancy. I am done with every department and will take other measures because no one else ever those.

Karina Garcia Almanza

I took my uncle in for abdominal pain. He came all the way from NC to see a dr & the doctor that attended him was nice & all, but I a little upset that he misdiagnosed him, he diagnosed him with a small abdominal aneurysm. He went home to NC & to a familiar dr & that dr told him he is constipated and he has no aneurysm. Thank God, but they should really set their game up.

Kristen McKasty

I had a great experience with this hospital. They saved my father’s life in the emergency room. The trauma team along with the trauma attending, Dr. Thomas. I could not be more grateful for the care they provided. I am very grateful for all of the work and time they took with their care. Dr. Thomas was informative and called to update me on my father’s status. There are not enough words to express my gratitude. The ICU nurses the first day of our stay, Susan and Brett, were supportive with my dad and with our family. I am grateful for all of their work and effort and support. There was only one person of the multiple people that had a negative impact on his stay and that is the PA Stacy Stainer in the ICU. She was rude, with atrocious bedside manor. But we are grateful for our experience and the many others who kept my father alive. He is our family’s rock and I have him in my life because of all the amazing people at this hospital.

Hey St. Luke’s Billing Office... how about you get people who ANSWER THE PHONE! I AM calling during normal business hours. And I selected English.. stop having Spanish on the English selection. The fact that I can’t even leave a message because your message is set on a loop is ridiculous!!! Also get your offices to return phone calls every now and again. I shouldn’t be waiting OVER A WEEK for a call back. Especially when I’ve called you three times now. I also had been signed up for paperless billing. I NEVER received and initial bill. I only received a past due bill. Which was a test done that I was never informed was going to cost me extra money!

This is an older review from my being in in 2017, had a toe amputation and was diagnosed as a diabetic, this review is based off the second part. I was diagnosed as a type 1 diabetic but a half an hour to an hour before my discharge I was told I am a type 2, I was also told I would never come off insulin but less than a year later I am on pills. Now if they make these screw ups on a regular basis, it could cost lives, this was the Ostrum street hospital

My child was taken to St. Luke's Bethlehem by ambulance on 8/14/17. I would have given zero stars, but emergency department doctors we saw were good, nurses were great. It took 3 HOURS to locate Tami, the "crisis" person and when she finally was found, she walked into the room and told us "I don't know why you even came here". I won't post my child's private health information here, but it was obvious why we were there and that we were in dire need of help. Tami's demeanor suggested we were bothering her. She handed us a printout and said "Here is a Google search of local services to contact". We told that we needed help NOW. She took our insurance information and said she'd be back. I had to ask a nurse to find her over an hour later when she still hadn't returned. She told us the best facility for our child did not take our insurance WHICH WAS A LIE as we found out 2 days later when we took him to a different hospital and their crisis team actually did their jobs (with a very positive attitude) and got our child into that facility. So we spent over 6 hours in the ED for Tami to tell us there was nothing she could do, when there was actually help available but she was too lazy to do her job properly.

My mother has been here 7 days so far, emergency, great service, then ICU same, very caring employees, I remember the most Margaret, her kindness with my mom touch my heart. Then my mother was move to a patient room, the same GREAT service. I want you to now, that sometimes when they don't move as fast as we will like to, maybe is no bed, maybe the people all ready in are VERY serious ill. They need time to do the GREAT JOB we all wants. THANKS, St Lukes employes for a GREAT SERVICE. BLESSINGS

Isaiah Ifil

Very horrible left me sitting in hallways been here 6 hr and no help terrible service

kgehris

Deceptive billing practices. I went in for a preventive care procedure, which was supposed to be covered 100% by my insurance company. Instead, they coded it as something totally different and I got stuck with $2,000 worth of out-of-pocket bills. I'm sure someone will respond to this and tell me to call some customer service number. I've already done that. They're not helpful. They just tell me to have the insurance company fix it. Then I contact them and they tell me to have St. Luke's fix it. I'm tired of being passed back and forth with nobody wanting to help me. Apparently I'm just screwed.

TBrownF Lee

Had shortness of breath, chest tightness, felt awful. Had a hard time speaking, felt tired and weak. But because my O2 sats were normal they gave me nothing. They discharged me not being able to breathe. My heart rate was tachycardic which happens in breathing attacks. I had to go home and rest off my flare up. This was days ago and I am still suffering because no one can help me. This is how people succumb to their asthma. The drs rely too much on the numbers and not the symptoms of the patient. They didn't want to admit me and monitor my condition though I have researched that 02 sats aren't reliable for asthmatics. My inhaler doesnt even work for me. Im terrified. I wish I could of seen a respiratory therapist. They dont know how to help asthmatics or people suffering from shortness of breath.

Atlas McCleery

The Bethlehem campus ER is the worst. Longest wait ever. Also had a horrible experience delivering my first child there. They rushed my delivery and I ended up with extra pain and injuries because they cared more about rushing through the labor and birth than doing it properly. Then had the nerve to confuse me with another patient. 8/10 of my nurses were rude and they deliberately went against my birth plan. DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE. Money hungry doctors and underpaid cranky staff. Avoid if at all possible. They made me feel scared to give birth in a hospital.

Greyci Rodriguez

My name is Greyci Tineo. Last week I came to Bethlehem for work purposes from Virginia. Got sick as soon as I got to the Hotel. Next morning I knew I needed medical attention. Thank God I decided to stop by the emergency room at St. Luke’s Hospital. What a wonderful team of professional Doctors, Nurses, Food & Sanitation personnel. Even though I was away from home and very sick they made me feel I was home. They took excellent care of me. Today I was released and going back home. I will be forever thankful to this wonderful team of professionals. 10/02/2020

Nurse Katie from the fountain hill ICU has been the most caring and compassionate nurse that I have ever encountered. I hope she knows how much she means to our family during this difficult time. She is so knowledgeable and caring. You are very lucky to have her! Thank you so much Katie from the bottom of our heart!

Mike

St Lukes University hospital polices and procedures are an Absolute joke. Called Rick Anderson and was directed to his secretary who hooked me up with the Director of Operations for the Comprehensive Spine Center. Was told my case was extremely complicated and please give us time with a solution. Four months go by and absolutely nothing other than what they decided internally. No consideration at all for the patient.

Sally Bratt

The person on the switchboard at 8am on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 was one of the rudest people I have had the pleasure of speaking with. And my conversation lasted (maybe) 15 seconds. If I call back, my fear is that I will get this "lovely angel" again.

Leah Kilpatrick

Had an amazing experience at this ER for my daughter compared to Cedar Crest. The nurses knew what they were doing, the doctor was quick but thorough. My only complaint for the ER is that the sheets had some kind of stain on them, when my daughter peed and they rereplac the sheets, the newer sheets also had a stain. On top of that the staff did continuously leave dirty stuff around. Instead of taking used blankets were couldn't us anymore, they left them piled on the bed, packaging for various things they used were left on the bed as well. Better experience all around especially since this wasn't a pediatric ER. But I do expect basic hygiene and cleanliness to be observed while in an ER.

Tom Nevin

Admitted last week for Zephyr lung valve placement which required a 4 night stay in the ICU. The care I received was extraordinary and I felt that the caregivers were actually personal friends, that's how friendly and caring they are. Highly recommended.

Robert Strohl

Staff was friendly but cannot follow directions. I was at the fountain hill campus for a stroke. I was asked to pee in a jug that needed to be refrigerated or on ice.9 hrs that jug sat until the next shift came in.the battery on my vital computer died. Nobody came to change it. I couldn't get the medication i needed until the urine test was completed.2 days the staff left my test out at room temp. So it couldn't be used. Never will go here again. I would rather just die next time.i guess that's what they wanted anyway

Piti Torres

My kid was with a really bad short of breath and fever and they just sent him home like that with just offering Tylenol and Motrin

Dean Winfrey

If you can avoid a health experience here please avoid it at all cost.I was in the hospital for most of November 2020. The biggest problem was their insistence that I was not capable of determining the course for my own medical care. This was a huge problem! Also keep in mind that I was held against my will and the police were called to assist with my freedom three times. In the last ten years this is the second time St Luke's has held and restrained me in the hospital in Bethlehem, Pa. Nurses outside of your room restricting your movement is a violation of your rights. Additionally daily showering facilities were not readily available. While there were three people speaking on my behalf this seemed to be a breech of our HIPPA laws because my input was not taken into consideration as it pertained to my health. Attiontionally, serving the same food over and over again was not appetizing not a good plan for recovery.

So like my experience was quick they admitted me fast but had me waiting quite a while in the room and when the doctor came in she was looking for that ear thingy but couldn't find so she stole from the other room and called my right beautiful but quickly saw the issue in my left ear and then prescribed me medication. So basically what I'm saying is in I got my ear touched and I was charged for it......... Hey at least unlike the other hospital I went to that sprayed water in my ear this place did not.

In the past 11 months my husband had been here more than 40 days for very serious heart issues. Not only did they save his life but they were able to give him quality of life. The doctors are amazing and the nursing staff treats you like family. We can’t say enough good things about St. Luke’s!

On Jan 7th2022 I went to my local pharmacy to get two prescriptions refilled. I was informed that one was canceled by the doctor’s office. I contacted St. Lukes Cardiology in Easton to find out why it was canceled. The receptionist could not tell me why it was canceled, because it did not state why in my chart. She said that she would forward it back to the nurses, BUT it was 4:15 and that is when they go home for the weekend. She said that she would put on it that it was an emergency. I did not hear anything back. On Saturday the 8th I called the office back, and after many attempts I got a hold of the answering service. I explained all of this to her, and she looked it up in my chart and apologized because the receptionist did send the message back to the nurses on Friday, but no one responded. She could not tell me why the prescription was canceled, but informed me that she could get a one week refill prescription filled. I asked how she can do that if she doesn’t know why it was cancelled in the first place. Should I not take it? Should I have a higher dose? Should I have a lower dose? Should I be taking something else? I don’t know, I don’t know, I don’t know, I don’t know. She said that she would call the on call doctor. A few hours later she called back and told me the on call doctor said it doesn’t matter if I don’t take it until Monday. I informed her that right on the pill bottle it says “Do not skip a dose or stop taking this drug unless directed by my doctor”. I told her that she should call MY doctor and find out what is going on. She said that she can’t do that because” the doctors deserve a day off too”. I then said I wanted the contact information to Cardiology to file a complaint. I asked who the head of the department was. I don’t know”. She said she would find out. She called back a few hours later and told me that she talked to the on call doctor again. She said that the on call doctor would call me back to talk to me. Nothing. Guess what? No way of filing a complaint, how convenient.

I ended up in the ER on Saturday December 4th due to falling very ill with Covid. The amount of sick patients was overwhelming for me. I can’t imagine working in that day environment and doing their very best despite staffing shortages and such a high stress environment. I wanted to take the time out to mention some Of thr doctors and nurses who really went above and beyond in patient care. I’m sorry my memory is a little cloudy so if I miss your name, please don’t take offense. You all rocked and work very hard! RN Michael- She was an absolute God send with an incredible attitude and love for her patients. RN Dan, Christine, and Heidi. All rockstars that made me feel better about being so sick. Dr. Raj-Always smiling and truly listened to me. The ER doc- I’m sorry I forgot your name. You were funny when you asked me how long I was on the floor after falling about I told you some crazy amount of time and thankfully my Dad was there telling you the correct length of time ha ha! Thank You to all and I’m sorry for any names I missed! Oh big shout out to the lady who found my phone! You guys rock! St Luke’s please give your employees raises and bonuses! They deserve it.

St. Luke's was absolutely amazing! I came for a blood transfusion and the staff esp a nurse named Michelle was so kind and helpful. They took great care of me and I appreciate them so much!

Very modern and clean hospital. Everyone is very polite and professional. Family member had 2 surgeries there and the care was more than I expected. Overall, St. Luke's, in general, is a great hospital system. Allentown hospital was also good.

Worst care. I was left in the office for 75 minutes after my SCHEDULED appointment. Then rushed and hurried “care”. Do not recommend

My son, 7 weeks early, has been in NICU for about 11 days. In all honesty, I judged this place based on looks. I will eat my words for the rest of my life. An emergency c section delivery, in 12 minutes. A very early baby, and my son and wife are very healthy. All because they know what they are doing

This was the worst hospital that I have, and ever could, come across. My friend was admitted to the ER and immediately the nurses and doctors were rude and confrontational with my friend and I. When the doctor came in i told him that my friend probably just needed an IV with some fluids and he looked at me and said “oh yeah, is that your medical diagnosis?” When in fact, an IV of fluids is exactly what he ended up needing and it didn’t take a trained professional to recognize this in the given situation. The nurses then took over an hour to administer an IV with fluid, not to mention the fact that the two nurses giving the IV had absolutely no clue how to insert it. The one nurse inserted the IV halfway and said “whoops, why won’t it go in?” and my friends arm began to gush blood. The two nurses continued to joke around saying “whoops, I’m messy!” while the failed to complete the most basic nursing task. My friend also had a long and semi-deep cut on his leg that was covered in dirt, and the nurses neglected to clean it for the 6 hours that he was there, running the risk of a nasty infection. The nurses continued to make fun of my friend instead of helping him. For the entire morning, the nurses sat together at their desk talking about dogs and other nonsense, and then they would proceed to say how they were not sure how they were going to clear a room in case of an emergency, all while my friend had been ready to leave his room for well over 2 hours. The nurses continued to joke about “the dead corpse” in the next door room, and how they would have to move the “corpse” to a blocked off room in the event of an emergency. All together, I have never experienced such incompetent, disgusting nursing practice in my life. This hospital is a disgrace and you absolutely should avoid coming here at all costs.
